They’re a Fangpyre and a disguised Oni (their disguise is bad I know they were never taught how to do it right) They work at the Dairy Dragon

They both hate it too bc whenever there’s a catastrophe bc of the ninja n stuff they still gotta work

I’ll make better references for them later but it’s funny bc I came up with them after seeing the “tweet like you lived in ninjago city ”

March Of The Oni concept art! My favorite one is that golden-ish tornado one. It looks SO cool! 👀👀👀 I think that might be the Tornado of Creation? Also there's also an awful lot of Kai in these. I'm not sure why. But it's an interesting detail!

more traditional oni lore for the fatigued soul in the ninjago fandom who is deprived of canonical ninjago oni lore.

this time, as it won in the previous poll, we'll be discussing the relation between oni and cannibalism.

oni are omnivorous, but have a taste for saké (japanese rice wine) and human flesh in particular, and will often capture humans just to torment them and then eat them.

in fact, oni are known for eating humans in one mouthful, an act called 'onihitokuchi'. Along with this, some oni are depicted as going to great lengths into tricking a human into trusting them, just for a quick meal, such as one oni who married a woman, just so he could eat her.

i've also read a couple anecdotes about humans becoming oni or looking oni-ish after consuming human blood or flesh, this being one of the many potential origins of the famous oni Ibaraki-Dōji and Shuten-Dōji.

i can just vividly imagine garmadon casually suggesting that they should have 'human shoulder' for dinner, to the absolute shock and horror of poor vinny, who has to then explain to garmadon why cannibalism is wrong,,

My designs for the oni generals!! I tried to make them look more accurate to actual onis cause i just drew them as furry creatures lmao I changed Vengance to look more like Harumi cause I'm biased and think Harumi should've had the mask of Vengance. Also something something about her becoming so fulled by her need for vengance she began to style herself after the vengance mask also size difference

So, this is a new Sakkaku concept art, it is way too different to the og Sakkaku but i'm so pround of it

However, i'll tell you some things about Sakkaku! (i apologize for my bad english btw)

Sakkaku are a whole species colioquially called desire flower, these flowers get their nourishment from the sentimental energy emanated by other living beings, so they create illusions to look similar to the favorite flowe of whoever who look at them, but they allways They maintain some similarity with their real appearance, they can grant you a wish in exchange for something that holds a big sentimental value to you.

But how did Sakkaku took an oni-like form?

Acording to Sakkaku, many moons ago, the oni who was supposed to be Omega's successor, desired to make the flower a guardian who could make a better job than what they thouigh themself capable of, sacificing themself to give the enough energy to the desire flower to evole into something more.

It’s basically the Oni equivalent of “sic em” or “get his ass!”

okay, so i have some thoughts about characters with Oni heritage and their aging.

Starting with Mystake: the fact that i have seen NO ONE talking about the fact that she's older than the First Spinjitzu Master. That's just cool. Imagine everything she has seen.

Speaking of the FSM: i found it interesting that during Never Trust A Human, he's at least a thousand years old already. I wish we knew more about him 😔 he is very interesting.

But onto what I was thinking about (under a read more bc this post will be LONG)

Wu and Garmadon, and how the FUCK they managed to age so quickly.

I hc that they were created asexually by their father. Someone else came up with the idea that beings who were created asexually age quicker than beings who weren't. I wish I remember who came up with this idea, bc it is very cool.

But there's no way they could've aged that quickly in like 10 years.

Or was it actually 10 or so years?

See, there's another character who looks like she aged way too quickly in that time: Misako. But she's 100 percent human. She should've aged normally. And I think she did, because while she's completely human, Lloyd isn't. He has Oni blood, and therefore should age more slowly than people who are completely human. We don't get to see evidence of this bc of the short span of time that canon covers (excluding flashbacks) and the Tomorrow's Tea complicating everything.

Here's my thoughts: what if he aged more slowly before we ever meet him, when he's a child?

We don't know when Misako dropped him off at the boarding school. He doesn't remember her, but if beings with Oni blood age slower, they should logically take longer to reach developmental milestones, like forming memories of your mom. Would his aging be affected at school? It probably would according to this logic, but since Lloyd is half human, he wouldn't age that much more slowly (plus we know the others at school didn't like him too much so this could've played into that).

If you take this along with Misako's aging, the idea of Garmadon being in the Underworld for longer than 10 years makes sense. It could've been something like 20 years.

But it STILL doesn't fully explain Wu and Garmadon's aging.

Here's what I think does explain it.

We know that with Oni blood comes shapeshifting. Mystake could definitely do it. The FSM could probably do it, since he was born to beings that do not resemble humans, and he literally created humans (at least in Ninjago anyway). I highly doubt his old man form we see in every flashback is his true form. Garmadon could change into an Oni form, as could Lloyd i am disregarding the dragon forms from crystalized bc i don't care enough to incorporate them into this theory. We never see Wu obviously shapeshifting, but it makes sense to assume he can, since his brother and nephew can.

I think that over the period of time between Garmadon's banishment and the pilots, Wu was shapeshifting to look older than he should've looked, and Garmadon copied this idea after he was free from the venom. This fic brings up the concept that Garmadon didn't know who he was without the venom and looked to Wu as an example. Brilliant concept, it just makes so much sense.

Is Garmadon an elemental master?

I mean, yeah. He has to be. He has the cool ass powers. But are those powers an elemental master's powers?

In Ninjago elemental powers such as fire and lightning etc. are originated from dragons.

And Garmadon is a master of destruction. And destruction is a power that onis possess. Not dragons (at least we doesn't know one with this kind of powers).

So, are onis an elemental masters of the same power or Garmadon isn't elemental master?

Also elemental masters can create dragons themself. We didn't see one made by Garmadon.

Just wondering tho.
