This is a bit of a throw-away idea, but I can't chase it away. But I also cannot produce my vision. This vision fits no where. Anyway. The vision is goth Butterfly Girls.
Was doodling and I wound up doodling Kanao in an article of clothing I had envisioned her before when I rediscovered some old photos with a particular article of clothing I used to own (and which I must had given to my sisters at some point because I rediscovered it while visiting home and I was like, 'yeah, I still love this').
Tumblr media
It's a short sleeve black hoodie with a subtle butterfly pattern and lots of nice details like lace all over the inside of the hood and on the outside of the pockets. Yes, it even had pockets!! It was such a good, good thrift store find. A nice elegant touch of goth, but totally casual! I loved it, and Kanao would look adorable in it. But what goths would the others be? Well, if Shinobu as we know her in the majority of canon, yes, she'd pull off a fancier lolita quite nicely, but nooooo, not in this AU-which-isn't-even-a-proper-AU. If it's openly angry Shinobu who has an older sister who already dresses like an elegant goth anyway, Shinobu's going to accessorize and wear pants with so many chains that she jingles. (Did I base her outfit completely on a friend's signature look? Yes, absolutely. Also, that is the friend responsible for my having gotten into KnY. She has good taste. I also rediscovered a photo from a time she dressed me up in her usual clothes and had me pose in her posture. It was very, very odd for both of us.) She wears boots with very, very thick soles. She had hide a lot of knives in those. But did Shinobu go through a more hardcore phase with daily black lipstick and very very heavy eye makeup? Yes. Kanae teased her a little and after that Shinobu made it worse for a while, but she later toned it back down to a look that's easier to do everyday. Shinobu is no poser, she is committed. She also listens to goth music like an angry teen should. Kanae is the one who started all this. She just pulls it off with grace and looks like she's not trying very hard. Her style is long and flowy. She does tea party fashion get-togethers and stuff.
The first time Aoi tried it, it was because Kanae lent her an outfit and took her along. She liked how people appreciated the desserts she made, and she started getting creative ideas for what sorts of accessories she could make. Next thing you know, Aoi is someone who works very, very hard on each outfit and is very committed to an ideal loli-goth shape. She gets a little stressed out if the petticoats aren't working the way she envisioned. Despite all this effort, she gets embarrassed and doesn't talk much when she's dolled up. It's hard for her to walk in the shoes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the little girls? Yes, they want in on this too. Kanae would rather they be more mature before committing to a fashion scene, so they keep things simple with black dresses and tights.
Tumblr media
So you got three little Wednesday Addams, and all the boys at the hospital are kind of freaked out by them. Sumi, Naho, and Kiyo change nothing about their tastes and personalities, yet they have mastered goth. No, I will not elaborate anymore than this. No, I will never have the patience to draw the sorts of elegant goth looks I love. No, you don't get to be as cool as I was in that lacy black hoodie. (I don't either, because I don't have it anymore.)

Stealing Her Style? Isadora Rips Off Popular Minerva Look
As if the drama surrounding her #PrincessPissy attitude isn’t enough, Princess Isadora was slammed AGAIN today after fans of HIH Princess Minerva noticed her trying to “steal” her style.
Only a few days ago, the Pierrelander native returned to Lunaria in her role as Ambassador on behalf of her cousin, Emperor David. As soon as she stepped off the private jet she had been met with an adoring crowd and press, her picture then being splashed all over social media heralding her return. Minerva had looked flawless despite just stepping off from a ten and a half our flight in a pretty, light blue tweed blazer-and-skirt combo from luxury fashion house Channel. Her hair had been swept into an elegant low bun and she had accessorized with pearl and turquoise drop earrings and a matching blue pillbox hat.
The look skyrocketed in popularity, with Channel announcing the skirt and blazer had sold out within the week despite being on the pricier side. Affordable retailers M&H and Forever 22 have already launched similar pieces on their websites, which have also already sold out; all across Simstagram celebrities and civilians alike are rocking turquoise jewelry. Minnie’s look is being replicated everywhere you look, already considered iconic. Why are we not surprised then, that Princess Isadora is trying to ride on her coattails?
Tumblr media
(Above: Cinched at the waist? Check. Same shade? Check. Same colored shoes? Check. Same hat and hair? Double check!)
Despite reportedly despising Minerva, she sure wants to be look like her! She arrived to her daughter’s christening wearing a dress designed by popular Castillian designer Fernando Perez in the exact same shade as Minnie’s ensemble that stirred up a craze on social media. Simstagram users pointed out the matching hair and hat styles (in fact, the pillbox hat is the exact same brand and design!), the high-necklines in both looks, and even the same colored pumps. The Castillian princess even matched down to the same exact lip shade!
Many online are criticizing Isadora for her copycat ways, with some calling her out for trying to draw Nicky’s eyes back to her through trying to match Princess Minerva’s fashion. Since Lunaria’s Crown Prince has made it clear he isn’t over his “just friend” at all pitiful Isadora must be trying to compensate. Several gossip blogs have posted side-by-sides to pick apart the two ladies’ looks and comments have not been...kind to say the least.
“@minicolastan: Wow...copycat much? Isadora needs to just leave Nicky alone and let him be happy with his daughter and Minerva! Isa is clearly threatened by those who Nicky holds dear, hence why she copied the *real* queen in Nicky’s heart!”
After hours of searching that was the nicest comment we could come across...it sucks to be Isadora right now, huh? We’re starting to wonder though, what does Princess Minerva think of this? According to an anonymous staffer, she doesn’t think much of it at all.
“Honestly, the Princess and I had a bit of a chuckle over [Princess Isadora] trying to copy her. [HIH Princess Minerva] was mainly focused on the task the Crown Prince asked of her: to be a good female role model for the young Princess Magdalena. It’s a duty that HIH takes seriously.”
We’re honestly not surprised that Minerva is so calm about all this craziness; once you’ve literally faced down death, we doubt something as trivial as another woman’s jealous actions would bother you. What an icon! With Princess Minerva to look up to, little Magdalena hopefully won’t pick up her mother’s bad attitude (and copycat ways).

KATIE’S TOP 10 15 BEST ROYAL WEDDING DRESSES OF ALL TIME
15.  Princess Madeleine in Valentino (Sweden, m. Christopher O’Neill, 8 June 2013)
Tumblr media
The only thing I can say I hate genuinely about this dress is that it never sat right off her shoulders.  It looked like it was slipping and sliding all day.  Other than that, wow, this dress is gorgeous.  The color is beautiful, combined with that fantastic tiara and gorgeous veil.  Lace but not too much lace.  Absolutely beautiful!
14.  Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby in Ove Harder Finseth (Norway, m. Crown Prince Haakon, 25 August 2001)
Tumblr media
I love a simple wedding dress, and Mette-Marit really hit it out of the park with hers.  I love that she was involved with the design.  I love that she accessorized really minimally to let the dress and that fabulous veil shine.  The only thing I’d like to have seen is a bit more bling in the tiara, but she still looked absolutely beautiful!
13.  Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg in Oscar de la Renta (France/Austria, m. Prince Jean-Christophe Napoleon Bonaparte, 19 October 2019)
Tumblr media
This dress is so far out of my comfort zone, but it is absolutely fabulous.  So quirky, so intricate - I’m in love!  It’s classic Oscar de la Renta and it fits her beautifully.  I’m not a fan of what the cape does in the chest area and I would never, ever wear this myself but it’s a work of art!  Absolutely fabulous!
12.  Camilla Parker-Bowles in Anna and Robinson Valentine (United Kingdom, m. The Prince of Wales, 9 April 2005)
Tumblr media
I think this is stunning for a second wedding.  The color, the gold accents, the classic Philip Treacy headpiece - absolutely magnificent.  It looks bridal without being juvenile, and it’s gorgeous while still being appropriate for the occasion.  I’ve always loved it!
11.  Crown Princess Victoria in Pär Engsheden (Sweden, m. Daniel Westling, 19 June 2010)
Tumblr media
The combination of the simplicity of Victoria’s gown with the Cameo tiara and that gorgeous, intricate bouquet is exquisite.  The Cameo needed something simple to let it shine and Victoria and Engsheden did not disappoint.  The color and material were perfection and this is how you do an off-the-shoulder short-sleeved look!  Combined with no necklace to really let the whole look shine, this is one of my favorites!
10.  Beatrice Borromeo in Armani Privé (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 1 August 2015)
Tumblr media
This is the first of three (yes, three) mentions of Beatrice Borromeo on this list.  She’s gorgeous and would have made a beautiful bride wearing a trash bag but this dress is something else.  It’s classic bridal with just a touch of high fashion and I love it.  That lace is so, so delicate, only someone as graceful as Beatrice could have pulled it off.  Her veil is gorgeous and although I missed a tiara, she’s literally sparkling in the delicate, shimmery fabric!
9.  Catherine Middleton in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (United Kingdom, m. Prince William, 29 April 2011)
Tumblr media
What a love affair the world has with this dress, the modern icon of all wedding dresses!  It would have been easy to overwhelm Kate’s figure with a full skirt, but Sarah Burton nailed the proportions perfectly.  The lace is exquisite from her neck to her shoes.  I love how she brought back lace sleeves in bridal fashion.  The peplum detail on the back of the skirt is incredible.  It fit her like a second skin in the best way and she looked every bit the fairytale princess walking down the aisle.  Her veil was just the right length, too - not too long but not too short.  It’s no wonder this is the new iconic wedding dress!
8.  Meghan Markle in Clare Waight-Keller for Givenchy (United Kingdom, m. Prince Harry, 19 May 2018)
Tumblr media
I’ve said before that I love a simple wedding dress, and Meghan did not disappoint.  The boat neckline was so flattering on Prince Harry’s bride, and the color and fabric were just the right combination for her.  I stood on the Long Walk during their carriage procession, and I could see Meghan coming from a mile away because she was literally shimmering in the sunlight.  I wish it was better tailored - my only true grievance - but everything else was gorgeous.  And that veil!  What can I say about that veil?  It literally sparkled in the sunlight going up the stairs to the chapel.  I can’t say enough - and the fact that it included a patch of the dress they wore on their first date?  My heart!!  If this was better tailored, it would have been top 5.
7.  Princess Eugenie in Zac Posen (United Kingdom, m. Jack Brooksbank, 12 October 2019)
Tumblr media
The first reception dress of the list!  Eugenie’s ceremony dress was pretty, but not my style.  This, however... how could one go wrong with a pale blush cape dress that fit her perfectly?  She looks like an ethereal goddess, like she’s descended from the clouds to grace us with her presence.  The color is magnificent, the fabric so delicate.  I don’t know how it’s possible to look so beautiful and so comfortable at the same time, but Eugenie and Zac Posen really pulled it off.  This was such a pleasant surprise when comparing it to her ceremony dress - I loved it!
6.  Beatrice Borromeo in Valentino (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 25 July 2015)
Tumblr media
Never in my life could I have imagined myself picking a purple wedding dress in a list of favorites, but here we are.  Beatrice’s civil wedding dress was everything one could have expected from her - delicate, feminine, with an almost fairy-like quality that many couldn’t even dream to pull off.  She literally looks like a goddess.  The lace overlay cape was something out of a dream, and the natural flow of the skirt is magnificent.  I love that the lace detail up top matches the lace detail at the bottom.  Ethereal is the word I would use to describe this dress - absolutely heavenly!
5.  Elisabetta Rosboch von Wolkenstein in Valentino (Belgium, m. Prince Amadeo, 5 July 2014)
Tumblr media
The delicate details of this dress are everything!  I love the matching neckline with the sleeve structure and the chest/mesh detail.  I especially love how those details match the veil outline.  I usually don’t like mesh paneling very much, but Elisabetta pulled it off beautifully.  The simplicity of the skirt is complemented by the gorgeous overlay.  Plus, there’s something so gorgeously simple about the twist in her hair that I just adore.  The skirt is flattering and of the right proportion, and I love how vibrant the white is.  This is truly one of my favorites - so delicate and feminine!
4.  Claire Lademacher in Elie Saab (Luxembourg, m. Prince Felix, 21 September 2012)
Tumblr media
Y’all know I wasn’t going to get through this list without my main man Elie Saab.  This dress is truly a masterpiece, a piece of premier artistry.  The lace detail is simply unparalleled, and it being head-to-toe does nothing to detract from the magnificence that is Princess Claire and Elie Saab.  I love the high neckline and the minimalistic jewelry.  Plus, that tiara with her dark hair and that gorgeous veil?  *chef’s kiss* magnificent.  Absolutely otherworldly.
3.  Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy in Elie Saab (Luxembourg, m. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, 20 October 2012)
Tumblr media
God, what a dress.  What can I even say?  That lace?  Incredible.  The skirt?  Fantastic.  The train?  Phenomenal.  Veil?  Unreal.  I really don’t have anything technical to say about this other than good Lord,  it is out-of-this-world, show-stopping fabulous.  Stéphanie’s usual style is not my favorite but it’s truly all forgiven because she pulled out the big guns with this royal wedding dress, the epitome of what a royal wedding dress should be.  The only thing that heightens this above Princess Claire’s Elie Saab masterpiece is the color - it’s so gorgeous, so flattering, I have no words.  Also, I’m a sucker for this kind of veil - mounted on the back of her head and thin enough to be transparent.  The whole thing is mesmerizing - an absolute work of art.
2.  Beatrice Borromeo in Armani Privé (Monaco, m. Pierre Casiraghi, 1 August 2015)
Tumblr media
Beatrice’s second reception gown rounds out my favorites of hers from her wedding week.  I love the simple lines of this dress - the v-neck is so flattering and I love that the straps are thin without being too thin.  The A-line cascades down through the skirt beautifully, the belted waist ties the full thing together.  The construction is truly magical, a genuine workpiece.  I can’t talk about this dress without discussing the cape-like effect of the back.  She looks like she is walking through the clouds with the gorgeous wispiness of the cape.  I love that the pieces are separate, and I can only imagine what they looked like in motion.  Armani truly outdid himself with this - it was perfectly constructed from top to bottom.  A true masterpiece.
1.  Lady Gabriella Windsor in Luisa Beccaria (United Kingdom, m. Thomas Kingston, 18 May 2019)
Tumblr media
And finally, last but certainly not least - the inspiration for my future wedding dress if I ever get married.  Lady Gabriella stopped me in my tracks when I saw this dress.  Literally, I was walking and looking at my phone, and I stopped short when I saw it.  The cape is just divine, that’s the only word I can use to describe it.  It’s like Beatrice’s second reception dress, but kicked up a notch with that absolutely inimitable lace overlay.  The skirt is proportioned beautifully, and I love how it flatters her figure without suffocating her.  The shoulder/cape detail is heavenly.  I could stare at this dress all day long, it is so magnificent.  It is delicate and feminine with magnificent construction, structured and lined beautifully with an element of softness and romance that cannot be paralleled.  It’s no wonder this is my favorite royal wedding gown of all time.  It’s just extraordinary.  I’ve done my best to explain in words but I simply cannot.  This dress is incredible.  Heart-stopping, show-stopping, jaw-dropping magnificent.

A/N: For the @kny-harajuku-zine! It’s a lot of fun writing from Mitsuri’s perspective.
Hello everyone~~ I hope you’re having a great week! Once again, it’s time for my weekend column, where I give you a peek at some of the loveliest styles in Harajuku. It’s always so hard to pick, there’s so much to love here—the cool Lolita styles, the adorable kawaii styles, the fashion-forward decora. Ahh, I spend all week agonizing over who to feature; I just want to give everyone some love, you know?
Anyways, after a lot of struggle, I found a group of cute teenagers! They were just strolling through Harajuku, this set of three high school boys. They all have such different styles. A fairy kei, a decora, and a boar-head—okay, that last one isn’t a style but there’s no other way to describe him. I wonder how they all became friends. After a successful kidnapping, we’re now in the Kisatsutai studios. They look a little nervous sitting in front of me, but they don’t have to worry! I don’t bite! Unless they want me to! I wave with a friendly smile. “Hello!”
“Hello?” One of them has a red scar on his forehead, partially hidden by his light red wig, and he waves back. He’s dressed in soft colours: his teal green shorts, his checkered overcoat, it’s a vision of a fairy. A pink muffler wraps around his neck to accessorize.
“You look beautiful,” the blonde boy next to him declares, leaning forward. He has hearts in his eyes and on his hair—in true decora style, every inch of him is covered in something bright and interesting. His colour palette seems to be yellow, with yellow clips in his hair, yellow buttons on his clothes, and yellow bracelets on his arms. It’s like looking at the sun. Oh dear, I wonder if he’s fallen in love with me?
“Why am I here?” the third boy grunts. It’s hard to figure out what style this boy is going for. He’s shirtless, with just a pair of pants on and a plastic boar head hiding his face. Maybe he’s into that horse-head craze? Or perhaps he’s hiding his face from the world because he’s secretly an actor. Either way, the contrast is lovely.
After he asks that, all three teens look at me and I smile. I can feel Shinobu glaring at me from her editor’s office—perhaps I should have started with that. I know, I know, it’s very clumsy of me, but I had put all of my focus on kidnapping them earlier. Clearing my throat, I explain. “I write for the Kisatsuitai magazine, and I want to write a feature on you!” They’re still staring at me. Whoops, I forgot to give my name! “I’m Mitsuri!”
“A magazine?” The fairy kei’s eyes are wide. “About us?”
Quick to the uptake, the blonde brushes back his hair. He shoots me a charming smile. “I knew my day would come.” It’s cute how suave he thinks he is!
My answer only makes the boar-head grumpier. He crosses his arms and growls. “Why am I here.”
It doesn’t feel like a question anymore. I wonder what about my explanation he didn’t understand. “I write about the latest styles! What are your names?”
“Oh! Right! Sorry!” Flustered, the fairy kei quickly bows his head. “I’m Tanjirou Kamado.”
The blonde one puffs his chest and gestures grandly at himself. “I am Zenitsu Agatsuma.” He runs a hand through his hair and winks.
How adorable; he thinks he’s a Casanova! I turn to the boar but he just slouches further in his seat and doesn’t say anything. After a minute, a panicked Tanjirou introduces him. “He’s Inosuke Hashibira.”
“Don’t tell her that!” Inosuke growls.
Even his personality is abrasive! Perhaps he’s going for a gap with his fashion. I chuckle and immediately he glares at me. Well, at least I think he does—it is hard to tell with that boar hiding his face. How does he eat? Ahh, there are so many questions I want to ask him but there are three people here for my interview and I must give them all equal love.
“How did you pick your styles?” I ask, and I’m sure my editor must be pleased with that question. It is a standard one and while I am unconventional in a variety of ways, I do try to do my job properly.
Zenitsu speaks first, as I expected he would. With his blinding colours, he is certainly the kind of boy who wants to be noticed and puts himself out there. Pointing at a heart-shaped clip on his hair he starts, “I bought that for a girlfriend.” He frowns, remembering something bad no doubt. “Well, I was hoping she’d be my girlfriend. When she rejected me…” His eyes water and oh, a boy who’s experienced the bitter bite of love! “I just kept it. It’s the same for everything else.” Looking down at his many bracelets, at his sashes and baubles, he cries. “Everyone keeps rejecting me!”
Oh, a fashion style to show the heartbreak of love. I knew there was something special when I saw them, and perhaps this is it! When people dress themselves up, they are trying to show a side of themselves to society. It can be an attempt to blend in, to show hidden parts of themselves, or even just to rebel against the norms. This sad, tragic boy; he is trying to show love lost, to be the incarnation of Venus. Reaching forward, I clasp his hands and give him a hopeful smile. “I’m sure it will go better next time.”
Inosuke snorts. “As if.”
“Inosuke!” Tanjirou seems like he’s used to dealing with Inosuke’s gruff personality. In fact, he sounds a little like a big brother when he’s scolding. When I ask him about his clothing, he rubs his neck sheepishly. “I…I didn’t exactly pick this out myself. My younger siblings like to dress me up.” Apparently there are many mornings where he wakes up with makeup on his face. It’s impressive how deeply he sleeps! “It’s a waste not to wear the clothes, so I keep wearing them.”
Despite his words, he looks very fond of his clothes. I think the style has grown on him. How lovely, family helping family discover styles. Another depiction of love. Perhaps all three of them are trying to be love’s warriors, cupids walking through Harajuku? Inosuke is the only one left to answer the question.
He just glares when I ask him again, and I don’t think he wants to answer me. While I love how grumpy he is, it doesn’t help my article much! Fortunately, Zenitsu and Tanjirou come to my rescue. Zentisu grits his teeth and glares at Inosuke. “He’s hiding his pretty face.” Once more, his eyes water. “The girls flock to him, even without it. WHY?”
Love is mysterious like that. Zenitsu, keep searching for answers!
Tanjirou mentions how Inosuke likes hiking and other outdoor activities and suddenly, I realize what he’s going for! A rugged, manly look, a return to nature itself! This is a love of nature and a love of oneself! How beautiful! When I tell him as such, he growls that that’s not the case.
How wild! In the end, after having Obanai and Giyuu take some photos, I have to sadly say my goodbyes to these three. Hopefully, I will see them again on the streets of Harajuku, proudly displaying their love for all to see.

Note
What would each host like to wear on the weekends? The Ouran uniform just doesn't do them justice sometimes!
I agree, even though I love OHSHC their uniform is a little bland my for taste. With that being said, let’s dress our boys (and girl) up.
Tamaki Suoh
His fashion would lean more towards comfort than style since he’s always on the move with his crazy ideas. If he’s not playing with Antoinette on the Suoh grounds then he’s exploring the Expo-Mall. He wants to appear stylish but he also doesn’t want to be hindered by stiff belts, scratchy scarves, or tight jackets.
Tumblr media
Kyoya Ootori
His fashion is a little more laid back in the sense that he doesn’t care about color coding and accessorizing. Unless he needs to make a good impression he won’t obsess over his outfit. He’ll make himself presentable, noting that an Ootori should consider the public’s opinion, but will mostly strive for comfort. He doesn’t care for extra accessories like hats, chains, or even jackets. As long as he’s comfortable and not dressed in his pajamas then he feels fine.
Tumblr media
Hikaru Hitachiin
He believes his fashion should comfortably express his boisterous personality. He’ll splurge on the little details like gold chains, thick rings, and many layers of clothing. He doesn’t mind layering on the undershirt, the polio, the jacket, the scarves, and maybe even something denim. He’s here to make a statement.
Tumblr media
Kaoru Hitachiin
His taste in fashion is similar to Hikaru’s except he enjoys adding more color. He likes vibrant designs and patterns that would contrast well with his solid-colored pants. His body is a canvas and he wants to paint something new every morning. He doesn’t splurge on accessories but might wear something subtle, as to not distract too much attention to one area. Maybe a thin ring and a thin pendant necklace will be the only jewelry he wears.
Tumblr media
Mitsukuni Haninozuka
This fun-loving lolita adores vibrant colors and cute designs, or anything that would match with his Usa-chan. He is nearly an adult man so he knows better than to dress like a young girl but that’t not say he finds a way to look cute! He’s not afraid to wear pink. He will proudly wear pink. He owns pink. He isn’t one to worry about accessories though, especially jewelry. He doesn’t see the appeal in weighing himself down with trinkets.
Tumblr media
Takashi Morinozuka
His fashion is flexible. He isn’t afraid to wear joggers and a baggy t-shirt, especially around the home, so when in public he doesn’t mind staying comfortable. He knows how to color match and he favors the dark/neutral colors the most. He feels they best compliment his tan skin and stoic demeanor.
Tumblr media
Haruhi Fujioka
Her style is very laid back. Basically whatever she feels comfortable wearing around the house she will have no qualms with wearing outside. She doesn’t mind the public critique, only worrying about properly covering herself and staying cozy. Sometimes she might accidentally leave the house in her apron simply because she’ll forget it’s still on. Her clothes are usually baggy and masculine, simply because they’re the most comfortable. She has found female fashion to be tight and constricting. As for her sense of color... he’s hopeless.

Cutie Reviews: Doki Doki Oct 18
I’ve been trying to get through these faster because I know I have some boxes that will be coming soon, beginning of the month and all. I’m hoping the quality won’t suffer as a result. But so far I think I’m good :3
Tumblr media
This months theme is Happy Halloween!
“This month’s crate is all about items that are kawaii with a gothic twist. Accessorize in spooky style and dress your tasty treats in Halloween fashion with these cute items for a ghoulish party or trick or treating!“
Before we get started, I wanted to show off a few of the cute images on the box. There was several but I only took a couple:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bats are so cute~♥
The comic on back features semi-new student Hibiki learning the dangers of assumptions when he tries getting proof that Tomomi is a witch.
Meanwhile, this months Suteki Crates is loaded with kitties! From Kuromi plush dolls and various bags to a Jiji watch, Kiki’s delivery service music box, a black cat paw mug, and two Halloween ready plush of Rilakkuma and Sylveon!
As usual, the cover is drawn by Tokimekiwaku, which makes me excited cause she’s been doing them each Halloween and I love her games and artwork. Although, I think I like the past 2 box covers she did more than this one, but it’s still pretty cute.
Okay! We’re ready to get started now!
Little Twin Stars Tote Bag
Tumblr media
A fashionable and handy bag for Halloween or anytime of the year, featuring an elegant starry sky design with the twins. The bag is made from a really thin material and has a Velcro strip shutting it, and due to the materials it can easily be folded up and put somewhere safe or where you could easily pull it out at given notice.
It’s measurements are 250mm height, 105mm width, and 245mm length. So it’d be very useful for holding lots of candy or other small items if you’re taking them with you for a car ride, or maybe to a friends house?
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
I think the bag looks very cute, but at the same time with the material it’s super wrinkled from being folded up... which kind of makes it look unattractive and cheap. I’m pretty sure if I just lay it out and give it some time with a book or some items in it, it would fix itself though. I do like it enough that I’m pretty sure I could find a use for it, like to store my extra makeup I‘ve been keeping in an old NMNL box, or accessories because I’m running of room where I keep them.
It’s also important to keep in mind that this type of material probably can’t hold a huge amount of items or too may weighted items. I could be wrong, I worry about the silliest things with items I own/get.
Black Cat Picks
Tumblr media
These food picks would be purrfect on Halloween~ or just for someone who likes cats. There are 6 in total, combined into 3 types, 2 in each. You can put them in savory, heated dishes up to 80 degrees heat, or even decorate cupcakes with them~
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Er... I’m not sure really sure how I would rank this. They’re very cute and I love the idea, and as I said above there’s all sorts of ways you could use these, a lot of occasions too I’m sure. I think they’re very cute, and I’ll probably use them when I make cupcakes again, or maybe some rice just to see how it looks.
Kuromi Plush
Tumblr media
I feel like we don’t have enough Kuromi in these boxes, it’s always My Melody and Hello Kitty. Not that I mind at all because Hello Kitty will always be my favorite- but next to her has always been Kuromi for me. So seeing her appear in this box made me very happy~
Our first Kuromi dedication is this adorable little plush. It is a bean bag plush that resembles the marshmallow squishy-like plush you can pull and stretch. I kind of wish it was one of them but it’s still ultra-cute!
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Besides being adorable and super-soft, the details are perfect. There’s no sign of defects, although mine has a little bit of an ear problem due to being in the box so long.
Kuromi Socks
Tumblr media
Our second and last Kuromi tribute is these adorable pair of socks! Perfect for the cute spooky twist the description mentions. As you can see on the tag, the size is 22~24cm foot length.
I was a little worried these wouldn’t fit. Not because I have big feet or anything, but out of the handful of socks I’ve gotten from boxes, I’ve had a pair that was kind of tight and uncomfortable and I was so disappointed because they were very cute.
Luckily that didn’t happen with these x3 they fit great.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I’m in love with all the detailing on these, and there isn’t any sort of loose threads or mistakes or anything (I say that because I have gotten a pair or two that did have that problem). They feet comfortable, they’re not tight, and for reference to anybody who wonders if their feet fit this size, my foot size is a 9. But sometimes I can get away with a 8 1/2 or 9 1/2.
My one little problem is that I can feel the seam across the toe area on my toes when I wear them and I dislike how it feels. But it’s not a deal breaker either.
Black Cat Purse
Tumblr media
Our final item is this ultra-kawaii purse! It’s very soft and perfect for carrying around little items like money, cards, necessity makeup or sanitizers, accessories, etc.
Tumblr media
This is what the inside looks like, and hello there painted nails, don’t usually see you.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Initially I thought the pocket was really small, but the more I played with it the more I realized it was just scrunched up and it’s actually the length of the kitties body, so there’s plenty of room :3 which makes me happy since I really wanted to use it when I go to the mall in a couple of days.
It’s very soft and can be worn on the shoulder or neck, I love cuddling it~
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - 5 out of 5. I really liked everything, it’s so adorable!
Quality - 5 out of 5. Everything was perfectly fine, no sign of issues or problems or anything that I noticed. There was a lot of detail on everything.
Theme: 3.5 out of 5. This is the one thing I was a little iffy about. I get how all the items can associate with Halloween, but the description said “Gothic Twist“ and I only saw that on like one item. As much as I do like these items, I feel like the previous 2 Halloween boxes did a bit better, I also wish we got a wearable item like we did previously. I don’t really count the purse or tote bag as such.
Total Rank: 9 out of 10 Cuties. I really liked this box and would recommend this one, especially to cat fans :P
♥ Cutie Scale ♥
1. Black Cat Purse - I’ll probably cuddle it way more than use it, but it’s so cute I can’t stand it~!!
2. Kuromi Socks - I love the sort of gothic design these have, and Kuromi looks adorable. They feel really nice too.
3. Twin Stars Tote Bag - I love the pretty design, even if the wrinkles of the bag is a bit off-putting to me.
4. Black Cat Picks - They’re so cute, I wish there was more in the pack in more various poses!
5. Kuromi Plush - As much as I love her, it’s just basic Kuromi.
Well that will be doing it for this box x3 I hope you guys enjoyed, or at least liked the pics. We’ll be starting up with the November boxes next, so until then remember to open a box of cuteness every day!

Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: suicide mention and uhhh brain washing? kind of? idk how to warn for that, and some mild like.... referenced medical gore idk)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
“What do you want to be called?”
“I don’t understand the question, sir.”
“Well, I can’t just keep calling you Sixteen.”
“Technically my full designation is PM-16-21A.”
“That’s not a name, you need a name, kid. What do you want to be called?”
The Keeper wasn’t really a man that cared for names, so he never bothered naming his charge either. It wasn’t until Eden reached the cybernetics expert, Sargo Hemmel, that she received a name. It was a long discussion, but ultimately she begged off deciding on a personal name for long enough that he gave up and named her after a dancer he’d known in his youth.
As for surname, Eden had a stronger opinion. It’s really just a pun on the fact that she was partially raised by the Keeper. She thinks she was very well kept. Hemmel tried to convince her to pick a more common name, but she does have her stubborn moments.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Eden didn’t get to see the outside very much while she was on Dromund Kaas. She remembers frequently listening to the rain, but even before she was stolen she was kept carefully away from public view. Now, it’s just a place that’s too dangerous to ever return to. A wistful dream that was never really a reality.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
Even without the extra mental programming, Eden is a pretty naturally friendly person. She got along well with the scientists that watched over her in her first few years, and she absolutely adored the Keeper no matter how hard he could be to read and reach. Even though she was almost an adult by the time she reached him, she always considered Hemmel to be just as much of a parental figure, too. Luckily, she’s allowed to keep in contact with him even if the others are now far out of reach.
Growing up, the message was hammered into her that she should never trust anyone and that the world was a harsh place where you could never relax your guard. It never really took. Somehow, Eden remains a font of optimism almost no matter what happens. Just about everyone that helped raise her is convinced it’s going to get her killed someday (if they don’t think it already has).
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Eden is force sensitive!! Not extremely, but enough that had circumstances been different she probably would have been picked up by either of the large force sensitive organizations. Hilariously, though, despite her own sensitivity to it she’s still not completely convinced it actually exists. She has a hard time with things that she can’t quantify in a way she’s comfortable with, and the implications of the force’s existence and so on make her Very uncomfortable so she tries not to think about it.
For the most part she only really uses it to convince people to help her, or to grab things that are out of reach. She doesn’t do much fighting, and was never really trained, so that’s about the extent of her abilities.
If she was trained more, though, she would definitely lean towards the light side. Not necessarily because of any inherent goodness, but because she’s not near as in touch with her more unpleasant emotions as she would need to be to harness the dark.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: bubbly, absent, brittle
eden: tall, pale, blonde
hemmel: never shuts up
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Eden tends towards whatever is going to help her complete her current job. That pretty much always comes first. Outside of that, though, she does very much like dressing up in things that make her feel good, and will often spend paychecks on nicer clothing. Textures tend to be more important to her than looks, but feeling like she looks good is important too.
Since others are rarely welcome on her ship it’s become one big cozy nest though, honestly. She likes to keep trophies and anything, really, that catches her eye. It’s important to her that she gets to do Whatever she wants with her space, after having grown up without a real space to call her own.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
A love for all things luxurious has followed Eden since her first time inside a rich person’s living space. Not that she ever wants to go as wild as so many of them do, but she does have a serious weak spot for the finer things in life. One of the quickest ways to her heart is well crafted gifts, whether they’re food or clothes or something else.
Outside of that, she has a particular fondness for cybernetic modification and loves to be filled with the latest tech. (in more ways than one ;D o god what did i just say)
Also there is her habit of sleeping with... Just..... A Lot of the people she works with. And the people she doesn’t work with. She doesn’t consider any of that a bad habit, though, so I’m not sure it belongs in this section.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Growing up, food was for nourishment exclusively. So, of course, now that she’s on her own she’s abandoned that philosophy completely. Good food, it turns out, is delicious and makes her feel good and Eden is happy to indulge whenever she can. That being said, she doesn’t have all that much experience cooking because she would much rather let others do it for her, BUT she has helped others out a good few times and she loves working in tandem with people in the kitchen.
Also, she’s unlikely to try something new unless someone has specifically recommended it. Getting her to eat something she dislikes is very difficult, and she would much rather avoid doing it to herself.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Eden loves easily and lightly, and her attitudes about romance and sex are basically identical. Both are very fun! She loves people, and she loves affection, and for her sex is not much more serious than dancing (though she’s never pushy about it, either). Commitment is never on the table, though. From the start of any given encounter, it’s very clearly stated that Eden is probably going to be moving on in days or weeks, off to the next planet and the next job.
She does have a few off and on partners that she falls into familiar patterns with when they occupy the same space, but even those fall much more into a friends with benefits area than anything more serious. If asked, Eden will say very dismissively that she’s loved many times, and it’s true that she comes to love and adore people very easily, but she’s never related to the poems and songs about romance. She’s never really missed someone when they were away from her, or had her heart ache for them. Frankly, she thinks it sounds unpleasant.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Don’t hurt Eden !! She hates it and will do anything in her power to avoid it. She’s not even particularly into spanking in the bedroom.
Poor Hemmel has to like fully knock her out every time she comes in for an upgrade, too, cause she’s very.... Reactive. Horrible at staying still.
That said, lying and disobeying direct orders already literally physically hurt her so someone wouldn’t need to torture her much to get information out of her. Although, on the other hand, she’s also physically incapable of sharing certain information. Regardless, in the event of an emergency she has several kill switches set up that she can activate to remove herself as a liability if it becomes clear that she’s not going to escape.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
No weapons!! If Eden is in a fight then she’s already failed, no weapons! She keeps a knife on her but it’s a utility tool not for fighting. The Keeper and Hemmel both tried to teach her to fight so she has Some training in blaster handling and etc, but she mostly refuses to even entertain the idea. If there’s any chance of avoiding a fight she’ll take it, every time.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
When on autopilot she tends towards Very Polite, so between that and her time spent with Hemmel I’m sure she has a number of stock phrases. I just don’t know what they are yet, so I’ll get back to you on that.
Outside of that, though, she does have kind of a particular way of speaking about her. Often, when speaking to someone she'll have an air about her like she’s sharing a very special secret with them, or a joke that no one else gets to be on. A hushed, amused tone comes to her most naturally.
EDIT: i forgot sometimes in the middle of a conversation she’ll get a strong urge to drop in a “For the good of the Empire” but usually she manages to resist...... it’s just muscle memory honestly
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
Eden was raised on horror stories about the Sith-- though he worked with them, in his private moments the Keeper was not very fond. Perhaps because he worked alongside so many. However, out in her daily life Eden hasn’t had the opportunity to meet all that many Sith or Jedi individuals, and so remains largely neutral on the subject.
That being said... You can’t miss the destruction that a Sith leaves behind, and that is something she’s witnessed on any number of occasions. So, between the Sith and their horror, and the Jedi who she views as similar to any other authority figure, if forced to choose she would lean towards the Jedi. At least, as far as she knows, they kill people less.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
If a friend is on the opposite end of a mission, then either Eden is currently working a con with them, or she has royally screwed up. Regardless, it’s not as though she’s going to be any more willing to fight them than she is anyone else.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
Shame doesn’t actually come all that easily to Eden-- she’s not self conscious about many things. However, there were a couple of moments in which she deeply regretted not doing more research ahead of time. Though he taught her many things, there were ways in which the Keeper neglected her education, and Hemmel didn’t necessarily know that she had those gaps.
What I’m saying is she had Absolutely no idea what she was doing the first time she had sex and was very much trying to learn on the fly, which is a terrible idea and resulted in a very embarrassed and giggly end to the evening.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Though she would say that survival and fun are her only goals, Eden is also fervently searching for a way to undo what the Empire did to her head. Cybernetics have proved unhelpful in that area, and it’s difficult to find any experts that don’t have pre-existing Imperial connections. At the moment, her search has stalled and she’s trying very hard not to think about it, but she would do almost anything to de-program herself, barring hurting someone she cared about.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Honestly, Eden doesn’t much regret the way she was born or the way she was raised, at least not in any way that she would admit to herself. But she does sometimes dream of a universe in which her head and her actions were entirely her own.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
This is an area in which Eden is Highly Conflicted! Honestly, fighting is a very bottom of the list Last Resort for her, and in 99.9% of situations she’s convinced that there are alternatives and that she’ll find them. Usually, she’s right. A good stealth field can solve a lot of problems.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
Well! Her head isn’t entirely her own! But that’s more of an ongoing issue. Right now she’s low key wrestling with the morality of continuing to stay aggressively neutral as the galactic fighting seems to be only getting worse instead of better. This may be something she solves by going Robin Hood sometime in the near future, but that’s still hugely up for debate.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. Programming: As referenced multiple times in the questions above, before she was stolen away the Imperials did manage to fuck around with Eden’s brain a fair amount. It’s mildly experimental tech, but so far largely successful. Unfortunately, they didn’t finish in Eden’s case which actually leaves her in considerably more danger than she would be otherwise. To avoid doing damage (psychological or physical), they were moving slowly with the Watcher kids, implementing broad ideas at first and then refining them once they had really settled in.
Eden never got to the refining stage, so she’s left with broad strokes programming like “no lying, no hurting others, no disobeying a direct order, no sharing government secrets”. Had she managed to keep going for another few years, these things would’ve been refined in scope to things like “no lying to a superior officer, no hurting others unless threatened,” and so on. But, it is what it is.
Violating any of these rules, as it is, leaves her with a blinding headache that is very rarely worth it. Luckily, her Keeper was careful to teach her ways of talking and thinking around some of the programming, as like many things of this nature it can be finicky and there are loopholes to be found.
2. Seams: Eden has very many scars, all of them thin and almost invisible, which she affectionately refers to as her ‘seams’. They’re almost exclusively surgery related, long thin lines down her torso and along her limbs where skin was peeled back to allow for cybernetic enhancements. They’re faint enough that it’s uncommon for anyone to notice them unless they’re in bed together, as her doctor does very subtle work.
3. Enhancements: Speaking of the reasons for the seams, though-- having partially grown up with Hemmel, Eden is fully stocked up on high tech enhancements. There’s very little of her body that remains completely untouched, and she does have a fondness for experimental tech which has led to mild short outs in the past. Every few months she returns to Hemmel for a check up and maybe an upgrade, so her list of capabilities is ever-changing.
Some of the things that she’s had for a very long time and will probably always keep, however, include: False eyes to allow for enhanced vision and a useful HUD, several stealth systems that range from masking body heat and vital signs to cloaking her entirely, enhanced hearing and sensors in her fingertips that allow her to collect very specific information, and a few types of ‘kill switches’ as she calls them that can either knock her out or kill her completely should the situation call for it (none of these are able to be activated by anyone but her and maybe Hemmel). None of her tech is dangerous to anyone but herself.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
i’m not convinced that she is !!
sure she steals a lot but is that really that bad?
maybe she’s accidentally broken a few hearts but that’s not rly her fault is it?
so what if she has just decided she’s friends with a good number of people without asking for their input??
who cares if her ship is a mess and she might not be able to fight to protect the ones she loves!!

Second edition of Calliope, in fairy robes, with familiar Heracles. But, is this story really about her?
Tale 17: Calliope Cwenfyre, Amadeus and Andromada Rosethorn  (chapter 1 - Calliope 1/5 ) part 3. Stories of True Love
none
Calliope was the second daughter of King Mage Morgan Cynedom, and Magician Rhodochrosite Emilia Loket. She was the child of summer, and was named and housed by the Dragon King. All four of Emilia and Morgan’s children were prophesized; one for each quadrant of the table of fours, which showed all the correlations of magic. As King Mage, Morgan had collected each of the beast stones, by befriending all ten of the kings of fey. Resulting in them revering Morgan as a trusted brother, representing the kingdom of magical men from their perspective. Because of this, Morgan would have all the houses, and thus his children would need to be placed in a new magic house, being unable to inherit one. And people needed a magic house to use magic. As the beast kings were the ones with the authority to give humans the ability to do magic, by giving them a special last name, a beast king would have to personally house Morgan’s children. All four prophesized children would have a beast king, who’s kingdom was associated with the child’s birth quadrant, name them like a fey. The Dragon King was the one who won the negotiations to name the child of summer. There were negotiations between all ten beast kings to name a child, as they considered it an honour to name one of their brother’s children. Names are important; particularly in fey. Also, of importance to the Dragon King, was the fact he fancied things that were extravagant, in terms of awe; He thought Calliope Cwenfyr was a pretty cool name, for his brother’s second daughter.
Calliope, just as her three siblings, had the personality traits of the beast king that named her. Dragons were regal, had a habit of collecting things, slept a lot, specialized in fire magic, and acted violently if irritated. Calliope was well adjusted, collected cups, slept in class, mastered the fires, and would easily snap at her siblings if they teased her. It made the Dragon King proud. In terms of her golden summer appeal, Calliope looked the most like their father in appearance. Long wavy golden bronze hair, olive eyes, and freckles. She obsessively wore adorable dresses, like her mother; colourful, floral, lacy, ribboned, frocked, and frilly. Calliope’s fairy robes were less traditionally feminine. They were that of the dragon kingdom. Her, and her siblings, all got fairy robes made by the Fairy King, in the style of their magic house’s fey king. Like all fairy robes, made for mages, they were to protect Calliope. Fairy robes grew with the owner, never dirtied, were immune to blade or spell, and a mage trademark. So much so, that wizards carried on the tradition of wearing fashion crimes to signify their skill.
Calliope’s robes suited her well; they were bronze and green velvet, and came complete with a pointed hat. Her familiar, named Heracles, was an albino python she wore about her shoulders. Even as she went adventuring around her father’s gate. Heracles provided excellent dissonance when worn about her collar; to accessorize knee length pink flower applique dress. This fundamental adorableness is exactly why Morgan wanted as many daughters as possible. Like her father Morgan, Calliope wanted to be, and was, a talented seer. Though Morgan studied magic history and literature, Calliope loved to learn about fay; and there was no better place to meet and observe fey, then her home on Tiberius Gate. Yet, no fey had as special a place in her heart as dragons. She would even visit the Dragon King, and his Queen Quellelthan, to tell them stories. Most people assume the Dragon King does not hoard like his children, because he appeared to not have any treasure. But That would be because there are things, side from objects, to collect. The Dragon King, as Morgan and Calliope found out, does have one thing he gathers; stories about human lives. Aside from Morgan, no one’s tales held as charming to The Dragon King as Calliope’s. The most powerful beast king, would gladly take a stool, and offer one to a visitor, just to hear about their day.
Calliope was best friends with the Dragon King. Out of all of Calliope’s dragon like ways, he was most endeared by her collecting. He anticipated hearing her show and tell her latest finds. Calliope, as mentioned, liked cups; particularly chalices of unusual material or décor, which may or may not be magic. To her parent’s dismay, this habit started when she was six, and persisted her whole life. Normal people collect things; it is simply a matter of storage. And storage space is valuable in a large family household. Emilia would groan every time Calliope said: “Mom! Look what I found!”
The Dragon King had not intended for the fey children he made, to covet things. Yet, he decided not the change it, because his children’s collections were so interesting. Each reptilian fey had a unique, and specific, thing they treasured. The Dragon King had made a son of the The Grand East, who fancied collecting postage stamps, and a daughter in the Central South who liked hording creepy dolls and puppets. But unlike Calliope, they often took or stole their prizes; as fey have no sense of value or human morals. This got complicated if a dragon child stole a priceless watch, and a mage had to make a convincing trade to get the heirloom back. Calliope, being raised well by her family, acquired her collection legally: by asking, paying, or picking them up on an adventure. Her little sister Artemis, liking shinny things, would take them occasionally. Emilia would groan every time she heard: “Mother! Art stole from my hoard again, and she won’t give it back! And Patrick bit me!”
As Calliope grew, she realized she wanted to be a seer like her father. Seers are magic users, mage or wizard, that: observe, record, and share information they witness and find, pertaining to magic. Whether it was aiding a quest, or teaching a class; seers were important for inspiring people’s wonder and love of the mystic. Calliope found herself imitating her father, by reading his collection of mage books; which, unlike her homebody father, filled her with wanderlust. Calliope wanted to travel the world, studying and helping dragon fey. Every time she discovered a new fey from the dragon kingdom, she would ask Dragon King about it. Calliope asked the important questions: like why he made a particular dragon was a particular way, in terms of: colours, number of legs, type of fire, geographic location, ect. And then pointing out impracticalities of creatures like that. The Dragon King would laugh at her critique, as magic is neutral and cares not about opinions of men. His throw away answer was always the same.
“Because I thought it would be cool. Everyone loves things that are awesome. Bright red, large, spiked, strong, fire, the whole lot. I could lovingly make the children of my kingdom anything, and having the choice, I want them to be outlandishly impressive.” The Dragon King would say. He was unaware of the correlation between legendary power and awe, and how feared and respected his darlings were to humanity. This answer was always satisfying to Calliope however. Not only because she was young, but because she liked to hear that answer. Because, the Dragon King was not wrong as far as she was concerned. Dragon’s and all reptilian fey, exuded what it meant to be legendarily cool.
When Calliope decided to start magic school, at the same academy as her siblings and parents, she was excited to start lerning. She could not wait to meet Professor Hara Fyrstan; head seer at pepperidge academy. He specialized in fey and magic conservation, and he married dragon princess Fleoganan; whome Calliope also couldn’t wait to see more of. Calliope had all the requirements to be a good seer; she was weird, went on informative rants form simple questions, was enthusiastic about her subject of study, and awkward around people. She would fit in perfectly with her magic academic peers.
Between her looks, charm, and goals to be a seer like her father, Calliope had begun to catch the attention of a dear family friend. Master of Rosethorn garden manor, and Morgan’s best friend; Master Paladin Amadeus Rosthorn. He was undyingly loyal and close to Morgan, wanting nothing more to fulfill the pact he made to the fey whose magic dwelled inside him. He wanted to protect the thing’s he loved. Including: all his friends, family, and their magical forest home. He worked hard to guard the wholesome spirit of magic, in the day and shadow veils, for men and fey. Calliope was many of the things, and more. She possessed a stupid sort of courage and passion only mages can possess. Just like her father. It is something worth protecting, collecting, and treasuring.

Unleash Your Persona!
By: KL Tiago
Persona 5, the JRPG from Atlus, is one of the best games of this year as well as all time.  In my opinion.  But also it’s true.
The characters are thought out and interesting. The story is deep and engaging. The gameplay is fun and strategic. The soundtrack is out of this world. It's overall just an amazing piece of work.
One of the best things about this game, beyond the aforementioned points, is its visuals.  Persona 5 bleeds aesthetic.  The anime-style comes through in the character design, the musical choices, the fonts; everything.  It's all very uniquely Persona and all very amazing.
What I want to dissect specifically, is the fashion. The costume design of this game is top-notch.  Character outfits are fashionable, stylish, funky, and on-trend. I'm going to go one by one through the Phantom Thieves’ battle costumes to discuss what a fabulous job this game did with its aesthetics and their fashion choices.
First up, the main protagonist Akira Kurusu aka Joker.  Black trench coat with an oversized turned up collar?  Yas.  Boots with the hint of a heel and slightly curled toe?  Yas.  Fit-ted vest to snatch that motherfucking waist to Hades?  Yas, bitch.  A secretive, white, pointy mask to hide all of the Joker’s got-damn secrets? Yas.  Red accent gloves?  You betta believe it!  Akira is serving some midnight-warrior-Protagonist-realness and will lead you straight to fashion nirvana.
Ryuji Sakamoto, your first friend, goes by Skull. Henny is giving you knee pads for safety and fun.  Pants tight like the bonds of friendship, complete with anime-trope-doubled-up, X-crossed belts.  Yes they’re functional too, miss-miss.  Where else would Skull hold his shotgun shells?  Fashion and function, yes, ma’am.  Did I mention the yellow gloves and thin red scarf to maximize the accessorize?  I did now.
Who’s that blonde in the drastically-impractical zip-up, red leather body suit?  Miss Panther: Ann Takamaki.  It is what?  Glued to her body.  She is where?  Covered head to toe except for a very-practical boob-window. Mmm-hmm.  Do those thigh-high boots zip up?  NO MA’AM: they are pulled high as Heaven brought up by the Lordt.  And don’t think for one motherfucking minute Ann left her accessories at home.  Her purr-fect primadonna mask faces some feline features and her hot pink gloves are giving Barbie, Kirby and Kimberly Ann Hart respiratory problems.  She is painting the town red with her colour-palette, honey.  Live.
Yusuke Kitagawa, the stone-cold Fox with a mask of a Kitsune. HUH-KNEE.  Yu-su-ke-is-snatched-like-but-ter-he-is-run-ning-with-this-look-to-the-run-way.  That collar is up to HERE, honey.  His outfit is fitting like his ice-blue gloves–like butter!–creamy, silky, smooth. Sleek, is his look.  But wait!  Flounce, darling!  Flounce!  Are those sleeves puffed like a pastry?  Mama, yas!  Are those knee-high boots white like a wedding dress?  Bitch-is-PURE.  What’s that striped blue and white sash hiding, Yusuke?  Mr. Kitagawa, is that a fluffy tail, you furry trash?  MA-MA, YAS!
Next up is queen, kween and also codenamed Queen: Makoto Nijima.  Her outfit is black as?  Night.  Her corset-inspired leather is? Dangerous.  Those spiky shoulders are giving me Balmain in a war-zone, honey.   She is a steel-toed, iron-masked, deadly-fisted honor-student from the right-side of the tracks and she will rip out that throat and help you study arithmetic, honey.  She is a whom?  Multitasker.  Ask Miss Makoto if you can borrow her lengthy, flowing, beautiful black sash to hang yourself with because her look will leave you deceased.
Sakura-comma-Futaba.  Baby-girl better get herself out of her socially-anxious closet because the world needs to see her LOOK.  Little lady isn’t called Oracle for nothing honey.  Those cute, bug-eyed, red goggles of hers can see into your soul, can see into your mind, can see into the future, Miss-Honey.  Which is where she pulled this Tron-gone-fashion aesthetique.  Those neon green lines are pulsing over that slight frame, Futaba.  Those popping green fingers, heels and toes are hacking into fashion, Futaba.  You may not know how to hold a normal conversation, Futaba, but honey can hold an outfit.
The Heiress of a hamburger fortune, lemme take a bite out of Haru Okumura: M’ilady of the dark, mademoiselle Noir.   Let’s start from the top, shall we. Bitch-that-feath-thered-hat-is-give-ing-me-ev-ry-thing.  It’s cute.  It’s Shakespeare.  It’s delicious.  Lady Okumura, where did you get that lilac pink blouse because I need it.  I need that adorable vest to make it an ensemble, and the lil’ silk tie to circle dat throat.  Mm-kay?  Call Ryuji, his shotgun shell belt just became last season.  Haru is holding.  Grenades that is.  Which she launches, honey, like she launches us into fashion celestiality with those poofy short-shorts, black leggings and good-girl loafers.  Haru may be armed with an axe, but she’ll behead me with her own two hands in those hot-purple leather gloves, ma’am!
Is the dissection over?  NO MA’AM!  It is NOT! No team of heart-stealing fashion-bandits is complete without animal aid!  Meowing Morgana pulls up to the curb in them-got-damn-self because Miss-Codename: Mona can transform into a bus. Yes queen!  This feline accessorizes with a 2.3L turbo-4 engine and 300 horesepower!  Handy and fashion: because that bus has ears.  For what?  To hear the haters coming and drive the fuck away, Miss-Miss!  Morgana is serving adorable-counterpart-reality with a cute yellow handkerchief collaring that cute, kitty-cat neck.
The Phantom Thieves are what?  Sickening.  They have stolen what?  Your heart.  Why?  Because: fashion.
If you still doubt me in terms of the incredibleness of Persona 5, I can’t help you.  Honestly, seeing them should have been enough to make you place an Amazon order or get your ass down to a GameStop.  Love yourself: play Persona 5.  Or do one better: dress like Persona 5.
Turn up that collar.  Accessorize with too many belts.  Feather that hat, honey.  Make yourself into the person you wish you’d be with all the craze and fabulous you deserve. Unleash your Persona!  Unleash fashion!
Persona 5 is available for PlayStation 4.

FAVOURITE OUTFITS → Season 7B
Ah, the last “favourite outfits”. Sorry this one has taken me so long, I honestly was finding it difficult to figure out my favourite outfits. What were your 7B faves?
Emily: Topshop jacket/Topshop boots/Equipment blouse/Rebecca Minkoff bag
Emily was stuck in her swim coach uniform or just a boring jean & tee combo for pretty much all of 7B, so I went with her only outfit that I liked more than usual, from “Hold Your Piece”. It’s still typical Emily, but I like the edginess of the black with the burgundy (I love Emily in Burgundy) and a choker to top it all off. The boots were a nice change from her usual style and I love the zipper bag by Rebecca Minkoff she carried.
Spencer: Elizabeth and James jacket/Kimchi Blue dress/Tory Burch shoes/Street Level bag
Choosing a favourite Spencer outfit this season was actually really difficult, because the pickings were slim. Most of her outfits were boring and we saw her be more casual this season. This outfit from “Power Play” isn’t one of my top Spencer outfits, but it’s honestly the best she had this season. I loved the adorable Kimchi Blue denim dress with the back detailing she wore.
Alison: Equipment top/Peggy Li necklace/Ted Baker bag
Alison was another person who bored me this season, but surprisingly less than she normally does. She had a few great fashion moments I can think of, but this outfit from “The Glove That Rocks The Cradle” was definitely my favourite. I love how youthful this is, with the pastel shades and that lovely pink moto jacket. Usually we see her in sandals, so the grey suede booties were appreciated. I would have loved to have seen more of these kinds of outfits from Alison.
Aria: Nasty Gal top/Topshop skirt/AllSaints jacket/Kate Spade shoes/The2Bandits earrings/The2Bandits bracelet/Rebecca Minkoff bag
Aria started off as someone who’s style was way too out there for me, then after the time jump, her style actually became my favourite. I could think of a few favourites from Aria this season, but in the end I chose this outfit from “Playtime”. I love powder blue, so any outfit with that colour pretty much alway gets a thumbs up from me. I really like the pairing of the twee skirt and bow-tied shirt with the edgier leather jacket and jewelry. To top it all off, her hair looks amazing with these kinds of looks.
Hanna: Topshop jacket/Topshop boots/Coach bag/Annais.Co necklace
Hanna’s bomber jacket obsession this season did start to bore me a little, but she has had some great outfits. I chose this outfit from “Driving Miss Crazy”. A powder blue suede biker jacket? You had me at “powder blue”. I love the funky fringed boots, her beachy hair and that she didn’t over accessorize because those boots and that jacket do enough talking. I also think the colour goes great with her features, it contrasts her blonde hair nicely and matches her eyes.
Mona: Topshop coat/Zara top
One word: Oui. I said before I saw it on-screen this outfit from “Till DeAth Do Us PArt” would probably end up being my favourite Mona outfit this season and I was right. Love the trench coat, and the cute monochrome lace blouse/mini skirt combo Aria also loves to wear. The beret while living in France is so Mona.

Behind the Red Door: Costuming Christine Ebersole in “War Paint,” Part I
If Patti Lupone and Helena Rubinstein get the full treatment, then you know that two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole will get the same in her role as Miss Elizabeth Arden. Once again, Catherine Zuber took charge of costuming this iconic figure. Born in rural Ontario, Miss Arden worked her way up to found a chain of luxury salons noted for their famed red doors, as well as a wildly successful cosmetics company. Above all else, however, Miss Arden is known for making the color pink into a trademark, associated with her and her brand above all else. Let’s take a look at how Ms Zuber put that into practice in her costume designs and later, we’ll take a look at the much simpler Arden accessories.
Tumblr media
Here, we see a relatively simple outfit designed by Ms Zuber for the character of Elizabeth Arden. Unlike the designs for the Rubinstein character, Miss Arden has much more simple outfits. There’s a very good reason for this; while no less savvy and shrewd as Madame Rubinstein, Elizabeth Arden had a style that was far more plain and “sophisticated” than her competitor. The Arden look was always more sleek, at least when it comes to fashion. Ironically, Lindy Woodhead notes in the book that inspired the musical, Arden’s salons were far more decorated and ostentatious than her rival’s, but that did not carry over to her fashion sense. Have a look also at the costume in comparison to some of the chorus/ensemble costumes, this time in lighter shades of pink:
Tumblr media
This costume is a relatively straightforward dress in Arden’s trademark pink, albeit in a darker shade than some of the other costumes in the production. Christine Ebersole is a taller woman, which means that there isn’t as much need for ornamentation to keep one’s attention on her face as she sings or recites her lines of dialogue. The relatively plain look of this dress in particular allows it to melt into the background a little bit, though the color is a sharp contrast to the much softer pink labels on the props in front of her and the projection behind her. While quite feminine in color choice, it’s also interesting that Ms Zuber has chosen to create basically a skirt-suit for this scene--it provides an interesting balance to her male counterpart (John Dossett as Tommy Lewis, Miss Arden’s long-suffering husband and assistant). While a bit early to be called a “power suit,” that is clearly the inspiration for Ms Zuber’s design. It makes sense for a character who always felt she needed to maintain her femininity while being tough and competitive in a male-dominated business world (see the number “If I’d Been A Man” for more on that!). The simple elegance of the dress exudes a quite confidence: Arden is secure in her business and has no need for showy fabrics, beadwork, or jewels. This outfit is also not really all that accessorized, though as with her rival, I’ll devote a separate post to accessorizing Ms Ebersole’s character.
Because of the character’s association with the color pink, Ms Ebersole spends much of the musical costumed in various shades of that color. But Ms Zuber does break up the potential monotony of costumes in just one color with some other stunning, but still simple, designs. Here’s an example (via JustJared) of a non-pink ensemble that is designed to catch the eye:
Tumblr media
Once again, the design is far simpler than the ones used for Madame Rubinstein. This dress has two main components: a straight skirt and a more decorated (though still demure) top. The color is a rich blue that almost looks violet when examined in the right lighting. The fabric has a satiny finish that catches the light, but which also allows for some interesting patterns of light and shadow depending on how the dress is worn or the actress positions herself. In that sense, it provides an interesting contrast to other costumes in the show, many of which do not see such patterns.
The portion of the top that covers Ms Ebersole’s waist and hips is made from a slightly different fabric, one with a silky finish that provides a little bit of contrast to the rest of the outfit. I’m not sure (as with the light blues in one of Madame Rubinstein’s outfits) that I am such a fan of this additional fabric element; I think it detracts from the simple lines of the dress without adding much in the way of a sense of the design. The color matches perfectly, so clearly Ms Zuber knew what she was doing in inserting this element, but it still catches my eye a bit wrongly.
One thing I really do like about this outfit is the cutout patterns on Ms Ebersole’s shoulders. The Arden character is neither showy nor ostentatious in terms of her appearance, to this small amount of ornamentation allows her outfit to be unique while still being a bit understated. While my preference tends to be for showy costumes, I like what Ms Zuber has done here. The flowing but geometric pattern matches nicely with the straightforward but very slightly whimsical way in which Ms Ebersole plays her character, and I think it is a very subtle accomplishment on the part of the costumer.
The understated elegance of Ms Zuber’s designs for Ms Ebersole to wear is on display from the very start of the musical. In the first big number that Arden appears in (”Behind the Red Door,” the title for this review), Ms Ebersole is costumed nicely in a simple but timeless red dress that offers just the slightest hint of what is to come:
Tumblr media
(via Playbill, Ms Ebersole’s costume is on the left)
An almost crimson shade, the dress fits in perfectly with the era of the musical, and really could have been worn in any year of Arden’s career after about 1920. The cowl around the neckline is a nice touch that adds a hint of conservatism to the already very classic look of the dress, as well as some elegance to an otherwise relatively plain outfit. But plain does not have to mean boring, and the satiny finish of the dress coupled with the color are enough to make it interesting. The only real ornamentation here is in the belt that will cover Ms Ebersole’s waist; it’s done in the same fabric as the dress, but with a clasp that matches the marquisate necklace that will be discussed in the accessories post later on this week. There’s not much else to say about this dress in particular, but I include it because it is striking in its own understated way. I like the traditional cut and I like that it is another hat-tip to one of Miss Arden’s trademarks: her Red Door salons that, yes, really did have red doors.
No examination of the costumes in which Ms Ebersole is adorned to transform her into Miss Arden would be complete without looking at the Pink Dress that appeared in so many of the promotional stills. While less over-the-top than many of the Helena Rubinstein outfits, I still think that this dress is one of Ms Zuber’s best creations of the season. Playbill provides some wonderful images of the dress of which I’m speaking:
Tumblr media
Finally, at long last, we see a dress in War Paint that displays some of Ms Zuber’s amazing talent for beadwork! This showstopping dress is simple in its lines, but offers a lot for the audience and the viewer to take in. The color is pretty close to the trademark Arden Pink of the labels which adorned Elizabeth Arden cosmetics for many decades, and has a vibe that positively screams 1960s. The color is soft and muted, though under the stage lighting, it does take on a slightly more neon look:
Tumblr media
The outer layer of the dress is almost tulle-like in that it has a sheer quality to it, which has the effect of lightening the dress by a shade or two. As we can see from the first image, however, the pink is quite rosy underneath the tulle layer, perhaps as a subtle nod to the earlier pink power suit which started off this review. Placed in comparison to the much more heavily-adorned Helena Rubinstein, this dress gives us another sense of the Elizabeth Arden character’s relative simplicity and eschewing of ornamentation. Next to Patti Lupone, Christine Ebersole looks a little plain--but again, I think that is intentional on the part of Ms Zuber in her designs. While the eye is drawn to Rubinstein’s costume, Arden’s is the more elegant and the more “sophisticated” for lack of a better word. One is clearly meant for a character who is herself a bit of an actress, and the other for someone who retreats to conservative outfits to express her sense of style.
But it would be a crime to suggest that the Pink Dress is any less beautiful than the outfits worn by Ms Lupone throughout the musical. I mentioned earlier that one of the things I absolutely adore bout Catherine Zuber is how she uses beadwork to elevate her designs; while that has been lacking in many of the outfits in War Paint, she in many ways saves her best for last. It took me ages, but I finally found a Playbill still of just how detailed the beadwork is:
Tumblr media
Look at that! Every single clamshell opening in the top, shoulder portion of this gown is filled with a tiny floral pattern composed entirely out of beadwork. Replicated over and over again, there is a real beauty to each element. The silver and pink beads balance each other perfectly and add a kind of “oomph” to the overall effect that the dress has. Along the edges of the beaded portion is a beaded border which uses the same silver and pink beads which cover the embroidery on the shoulders. From a distance, the top simply looks stylish, but up close it’s clear the love and care that was poured into this design by Ms Zuber. I’m not sure if this is my favorite costume from War Paint, but it absolutely ranks up there in the top handful.
Overall, I think I like the costumes chosen for the Helena Rubinstein character just a little bit more than those given to Ms Ebersole in her role as Elizabeth Arden. But it’s a close contest, because I think the styles are so wildly different that each needs to be considered on its own long before any comparison is drawn. Ms Ebersole’s costuming is classic and simple, with traditional lines and design elements, generally in a single solid color. Like Arden herself, the costumes are conservative and stoic without being forgettable or boring. The lack of ostentation or ornamentation except on the Pink Dress is one of the reasons, though, that I think the lead has to go to Ms Zuber’s designs for Madame Rubinstein. That being said...I really am a sucker for impeccable beadwork, so the Arden designs will always be right in there for me.
Next up, I’ll be posting a (possibly shorter) review of the accessories given to Ms Ebersole to complete her look as Miss Arden. There are fewer for her than for Ms Lupone, but that doesn’t make them any less interesting to examine. Stay tuned!

Dupatta Reuse Ideas-20+ DIY Ways To Upcycle Your Old Dupattas Outfit Trends - Ideas How to Wear & What to Wear
New Post has been published on https://www.outfittrends.com/dupatta-reuse-ideas/
Dupatta Reuse Ideas-20+ DIY Ways To Upcycle Your Old Dupattas
Over 20 Ways To Reuse a Dupatta: Dupatta is an essential part of the Eastern fashion and is typically worn with Kurtas and Shalwar Kameez. It is a wardrobe staple in countries like India and Pakistan who are all about modest fashion.
These come in a number of designs and fabrics which make them all super unique and attractive. Most commonly they are found in chiffon and silk fabrics with digital prints on them. However, they are also done in the lawn fabric with elements like laces and tassels. With dupattas being an important part of our everyday fashion, we are often left with large collections of them. Instead of letting them lie around in your closet, reuse them in fun ways to create new looks. Wear the same dupatta by contrasting it on a different coloured outfit or stitch it into a fun shirt. Additionally, they can also be styled to meet all the latest fashion trends. Not only are they cost effective but also save you with ample amounts of space within your wardrobes.
How To Reuse Your Old Dupatta?
Here are some tips and tricks to style it:
Pick and choose the right fabric for the right kind of design.
Create fun and youthful looks that match the current trends.
Use accessories like belts to style them.
You can also create accessories out of them like the knot hairband or even a belt.
Experiment with looks creating an Indo-western style.
You can also upcycle a fancy, embroidered dupatta to create different looks.
↓ 22. Quirky Summer Top
This cool and funky black and white top with tie-up sleeves are worth adding to your summer closet. Not only can they make for great casual wear but can also be worn as a fine travel outfit. If you have a lawn dupatta lying around somewhere that is not of your use, consider cutting it out to create a cool top like this one. The leftover cutting can be stitched onto the top for a fun element like the bow-tied sleeves. The top can then be styled with skirts or jeans for a comfortable yet chic style.

↓ 21. Dupatta Cape
Got a wedding event coming up and cannot decide on what to wear? We have you covered. Pull out an embroidered heavy dupatta and convert into a beautiful cape dress like this one. You will never be able to tell it has been made from an existing dupatta. The capes have been in fashion since 2017 now and are frequently incorporated with Eastern outfits as well. This idea can also be used to upcycle bridal outfits that are often pushed to the back of the closets. This style can definitely save you the time and money that would otherwise be spent finding the right kind of embroidery and fabric for an outfit like this.

↓ 20. Saree Blouse
We absolutely adore this colour combination of blue and yellow with hints of rust. If you are bored of wearing the same old blouse with your saree, give it a different look by pairing it with a new blouse. You can use your lawn or silk dupatta with different prints and colours to contrast with a beautiful saree like this one. The blouse can then be reused with a different saree and you will always have a different outfit each time. Another great idea to pull out your mom’s saree and wear it with a fun blouse like this one instead of wearing them with old-fashioned blouses that do not seem to work with the current trends and styles. If you’re into wearing sarees then I highly recommend that you go through these 30 New Saree Blouse Designs 2019 That You Must Try.

↓ 19. Recycle Old Dupatta Into Shrug

↓ 18. Saree Drape
While this may resemble the Saree Pants, it is actually more of a drape that has been made with a Dupatta. The look can easily be sported at formal occasions for a unique and different style. Tucked in at the right side, it goes around the back and worn as a Saree on the front. She has used a tie-dye dupatta in yellow and white to complement her white pants and yellow blouse.

↓ 17. How to Wear Your Mom’s Dupatta
Sridevi’s sudden demise came as a shock for many. We were all disheartened by the news and the focus suddenly shifted to whether Janhvi Kapoor would be able to live up to the same standards or not. While that is debatable, what is not is how gorgeous Janhvi looks in her mom’s dupatta that she was spotted wearing. What is fun to note is how she chose to pair it with a similar white Kurta instead of a different coloured one. If you have similar sentiments attached to your mom’s dupatta and cannot seem to part with it, here is how to use it.
Via
↓ 16. One Dupatta in Two Ways
Take a look at another one of Veronica’s creations that she made out of a blue net dupatta. This piece of creativity does not require any stitching which happens to be the best part about it. We love how the border of the wrap gives the perfect back detailing, something that most tops these days lack.
Via
She wore the same wrap to create a dress out of it, again without any stitching. That helps you use the same wrap in a number of ways without destroying the purpose of it.
Via
↓ 15. Swimwear Cover Up
If you want a bikini cover-up that is affordable yet pretty-looking, this could be your go-to. Any existing stole or wrap could do the purpose by tying one end around the neck, giving the effect of a turtleneck. The other can be tied around the back, to keep it in place and voila, the look is complete.
Via
↓ 14. DIY Dupatta Dress
How beautiful is this blue chiffon dress that has been worn over a shirt with gorgeous neck embroidery? At first glance, we thought of it to be a silver necklace and loved how it looks with the dress. The crepe fabric is something that is occasionally done as traditional wraps and dupattas. If you have one that is not of your use anymore, you could totally put it to use in this creative and fun way. The dress makes for a great party outfit. It can be worn with a blazer or a shrug to experiment with it. If you do not wish to wear it over a similar looking shirt, you could always pair actual silver jewelry to accessorize the look. Additionally, you may try the look by putting it together with the help of some pins and a belt instead of getting it stitched.

↓ 12. Old Dupatta Reuse
Isha Ambani, daughter of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani recently wore her mother’s Chunari at her own Wedding. We love the concept of holding on to memories and it has been done worldwide. In the Western world, a lot of brides have chosen to wear their ancestral wedding gowns on their own. Kareena Kapoor Khan wore her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore’s, wedding outfit on her own wedding. However, if you do not wish to wear the same outfit yet want to have an element of it, here is how to do it. We love how Isha added the color red to her otherwise white ensemble with her mother’s wedding dupatta.

↓ 11. Kimono
Here are two ideas on how to style a wrap or a stole as either a kimono or a cool wide neck top. The first way is to stitch buttons down the length to give it a look which is a cross between a cape and a kimono. The other is to stitch buttons down the sleeves for a cool look. We love the slit at the arms that gives it a look of a poncho. Both the looks are perfect for the Summer weather and could even be worn to your next Summer travel destination. And to help you rock this style, here are 20 Ways To Dress Up With Kimono Outfits.
Via
↓ 10. Dupatta Turned Into Shirt
Veronica Andrad is a fashion student who has a keen interest in turning old fabrics into some dainty pieces. We love how she picked out an old tie-dye dupatta and stitched it into a chic top that she chose to wear with black pants. The beige and orange combination is a stunning one and the overall look is super affordable yet attractive. A shirt like this would also go well with shawars so have a look at these 18 Best Ways to Wear Patiala Shalwar.
Via
↓ 9. Embellished Skirt
When we first saw this Shivan and Narresh skirt, our first thought was how appropriate the design was to upcycle an existing embellished dupatta. If you have a heavily embroidered dupatta in your trousseau that you would want to re-style, here is how you could do it. You could also wear it to your honeymoon for a boho look. It can be paired with a crop top or a full sleeves gold blouse.
Via
↓ 8. Cropped Skirt
Banarasi fabrics are known to be a huge part of South Asian fashion. They come as Sarees, as well, dupattas for people going the traditional way. A great way to reuse such fabrics is by turning them into stylish skirts, short or long. Since dupattas often come in a length of a little over 2 meters, they can be used to create cropped skirts to wear with trendy tops.
Via
↓ 7. Phulkari Pants
Phulkari is a type of thread embroidery famous in both India and Pakistan. The last couple of years brought back the old trend of Phulkari and we saw a couple of beautifully embroidered dupattas that were sported by celebrities and fashionistas alike. Well, here is a modern take on those dupattas. If you have an old Phulkari dupatta or just wish to turn it into a different piece, here is how to do it. Phulkari trousers/shalwars are the new ‘it’ trend. Pair an Indian Chikankari kurta with these pants for a quick makeover. The outfit can then make for a great casual or even a formal look depending on how it is styled.
Via
↓ 6. Indo-Western Fusion
Did you know you could totally pass by wearing a dupatta over shorts with a belt around? We did not either. We absolutely love this Indo-Western fusion and how effortless this blue and white wrap looks with her overall look.
Via
↓ 5. Gorgeous Pink Wrap-Dress
Here is one of our favorite outfits that could be pulled off with an old dupatta. We love the cross that it is between a dress and a jumpsuit and how glamorous it looks. Wrap around a silk dupatta over a pair of tights and hold it in place with a statement belt like the one in the picture. Style it effortlessly with a pair of tribal earrings and matching stilettos. Similar outfits have been worn by celebrities and fashionistas alike and we are super impressed by the look of it.
Via
↓ 4. Summer Look
Take a look at this super cute and boho style top and skirt. They make for the ultimate Summer beach outfit to pair with some sandals. You can create your own such look by recycling a pair of old dupattas to create a pair of matching top and skirt.
Via
↓ 3. Crop Top
This boho style chic crop top is the kind of Summer look we have all been dreaming of. It can be made of silk, cotton or even chiffon fabrics. They can be worn with skirts, high-waisted jeans and even shorts to create the perfect youthful looks. If you know the basics of tailoring, it should not be a problem creating this super cute top from an old dupatta. However, if you do not know how to do it, you could always ask a tailor to stitch it for you. We are already thinking of a million ways to style this adorable top especially with summer sandals and chunky accessories. For a modest or desi look, you can easily wear the crop top with a skirt or lehnga and even high waisted pants. Be sure to pair the crop top with one of these 25 Cute Ways to Wear Crop Tops This Season.
Via
↓ 2. Romper Style
We love this short romper that is perfect for the warm summer weather. We love the use of vibrant colours and the wide sleeves and how perfectly it has been paired with a couple of cool accessories. Since it has a short length, it can easily be made out of a printed wrap in lawn or cotton fabric with just a few skills at hand. It can also be your next vacation outfit or something to wear to the beach. However, if you are looking for a longer length and something that would resemble a jumpsuit, you could mix and match two separate wraps to get the look.
Via
↓ 1. Saree Pants
We were blown away the minute we saw Mahira Khan walk the New York streets in this exquisite outfit by Sana Safinaz. The outfit, called, Saree Pants, has become a famous choice for many celebrities. Instead of wearing a Saree, the outfit calls for a similar drape that is worn over pants. The colours, prints and the ethereal fabric are all that are making this look so tasteful. If you want to replicate the look, the best way is to do it with a colourful and vibrant silk dupatta and get your own Mahira moment just like that.

The Ultimate Guide to Marilyn Monroe's Style
Some like it hot!
We've been breaking down our list of 16 classic fashion icons everyone should know. Last week, we covered Diana Ross, the reigning queen of Motown and 1960s trendsetter.
This week, it's all about cinema's brightest star, Marilyn Monroe.
View the original article to see embedded media.
Tomorrow, August 5, marks 56 years since we've lost the famous “blonde bombshell.” But with every passing year, her image grows more and more beloved.
Marilyn's blonde hair, red lips, and beauty mark have made lasting style impressions on us all, but in the 1950s, she was known for being the biggest sex symbol of the era.
Her life has been written about and re-imagined countless times, like in the Oscar nominated My Week with Marilyn, or the ill-fated but still adored (especially by yours truly) TV series Smash. But there are a lot of sides to Marilyn you probably don't know about. Keep reading to find out more about her early life, film career, tragic death, and lasting legacy.
All About Marilyn
Fade In On a Girl...
View the original article to see embedded media.
Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson in Los Angeles, California in 1926. Her father was absent, and her mother suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, spending much of her life in institutions.
Marilyn spent her childhood in and out of various foster homes and orphanages. (TW) During this time she was sexually abused.
When her last foster family wanted to move out of California, laws prohibited them from taking then Norma Jeane with them. Their solution was to have the 16 year old marry Jim Dougherty, the neighbors' son, so she wouldn't go to an orphanage.
Gentlemen Prefer Marilyn
View the original article to see embedded media.
Dougherty was a marine and had to leave Norma Jeane behind for a while. Around this time, she was working at a factory and was discovered by a photographer to shoot pin-up style photos for the troops. (Fun fact: Marilyn always supported the armed forces and would go on to interrupt her honeymoon to perform in Korea, where the troops adored her.)
By the late 1940s, Norma Jeane had dyed her brown hair lighter and began a modeling and film career. She landed a contract with 20-Century Fox and chose the stage name Marilyn Monroe.
I never wanted to be Marilyn--it just happened. Marilyn's like a veil I wear over Norma Jeane. - Marilyn Monroe
It only took a few years for Marilyn to become a world-wide sensation. But she was typecast and sexualized in films as a the “girl next door” or the “dumb blonde." She often felt limited. She was devoted to the craft and trained in acting, hoping to play different roles.
There's No Business Like Show Business

Marilyn had a bad reputation on movie sets. She suffered anxiety, stage fright, and low self-esteem (among rumored other issues relating to her childhood traumas).
To cope with this, she took dangerous combinations of drugs and alcohol. As a result, she often showed up late, forgot her lines, and could take hours to film a simple one-line scene.
But in the 1950s, people weren't understanding of her mental health issues, and the executives and men on set were cruel to Marilyn. She became co-dependent on her acting coach and friend Paula Strasberg, much to the dismay of her directors.

Many biographers question Strasberg's influence, as she wanted Monroe to be a method actor; and though she encouraged Marilyn to go to psychoanalysis, she wanted her to use her traumas for acting.
I've spent most of my life running away from myself. - Marilyn Monroe
As she rose to fame with films like Niagara and How To Marry A Millionaire, Marilyn's personal life became a hot topic in the press. She married Joe DiMaggio in a passionate but doomed relationship which lasted just nine months. (After Marilyn passed, Joe continued to send flowers to her grave every week for twenty years.)
"We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle."

Tired of being underestimated, in 1955 Marilyn founded her own production company (the first woman to do so!) and partnered with Fox under a new contract that would let her pick her own movies, directors, and cinematographers.
She was a women's and civil rights activist, too. She notably helped Ella Fitzgerald get a break by demanding she play a famous venue and attending every show front row.
I don't want to make money. I just want to be wonderful. - Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn remarried to a playwright named Arthur Miller in 1956 and her career kept growing, but her personal health declined. Arguably her most famous and acclaimed film, Some Like It Hot, is also recognized for her famous bad behavior on set.

In 1961, Marilyn divorced again, and in 1962 began working on her final film Something's Got To Give. But by then, she was severely dependent on substances and struggling with depression and other physical health issues.
Fame will go by, and, so long, I've had you fame. If it goes by, I've always known it was fickle. So at least it's something I experienced, but that's not where I live. - Marilyn Monroe
Something's Got To Give had to pause production to allow Marilyn time to heal, but the movie was never finished. Marilyn Monroe died in 1962 of a drug overdose.

Today, she is still a symbol of style, beauty, and sex. But fans, critics, and biographers' attitudes have shifted towards her infamous behaviors. She's no longer seen as a wild party girl, and instead her personal traumas, mental instabilities, and dedication to her work despite it all are respected and championed.
Marilyn was a feminist and an artist. She demanded rights over her own career in a time when movie contracts exploited actors, and was a talented actress, who managed to sparkle and brighten up every second of screen time even in her darkest personal hours.

The Ultimate Guide to Marilyn Monroe's Style
Some like it hot!

These Kids are So Cool It’s Throwing Me Into an Existential Crisis

These Kids are So Cool It’s Throwing Me Into an Existential Crisis
I have a confession. You know that “Things I’ve Bookmarked on Instagram” series that our team does that is full of gorgeous photos of beautiful people and cool brands? I could never participate because my bookmarks are just…babies. Cute babies, stylish babies, babies in big hats. I’ve got an Instagram DM group called “87% baby content.” (Oh and to clarify: Anyone under 11 is a baby.)
I don’t think I want children, but I do love obsessing over ones for which I have zero responsibility. Do any of you do this? Please say you do this. In the off chance that you don’t, and since it is Friday, I’ve taken the liberty of outlining some of my favorite stylish and inspirational kid accounts below, all of whom appear to have their lives together in ways I never could. I both admire and fear them.
Coco_PinkPrincess
Here she is. The most impossibly stylish child on all of the internet. She’s seven and she knows how to layer better than I do. Just look at her! Can she be a Man Repeller contributor? It’s hard to wear bold clothes and not have them wear you, and yet here she is, years away from getting her driver’s license or paying her own taxes, pulling off head-to-toe ensembles. I like that while her shots are heavily stylized, they’re not too precious nor grown-up. Whatever the delicate balance is that one must strike in order to cultivate the perfect cool/age-appropriate/fun-but-not-weird child Instagram influencer persona, Coco Pink Princess hath struck it.
Jayde Robinson
THIS. BABY. Look, it took me a cool 30 years to figure out what the hell to do with my hair and 98% of the time it’s just in a boring bun. Jayde not only does her own hair, she’s out here giving tutorials. If you try to talk to me while I’m putting in my leave-in, I will recite some nonsense and somehow end up bald. She’s also athletic, stylish and has great taste in cities. I one day hope to be as confident in both my opinions and my hair-styling abilities.
Ayden Nguyen
Ayden is eight and has the kind of casual, non-performative swag that makes you sit back and say, “Wow, that person must genuinely like himself.” He should be an idol to us all. Also, look at him dance! Look at him accessorize! And he’s also studious, so you know he is balancing his obligations and his hobbies in a way I can only dream of.
Little Miss Flint
Mari Copeny is adorable and an incredible activist. She’s been raising awareness around the Flint water crisis for years, fundraising and delivering bottles of water to residents who still can’t drink tap water. She hosted a screening for kids to see Black Panther when it came out. She is a legitimate inspiration in her poise and tireless work in helping her community.
Two Celebrity Babies Who Don’t Have Their Own Instagram Accounts (But Should?) (No Pressure.)
Luna
Fawning over celebrity babies seems unfair, because who among us wouldn’t be cool if our parents were a witty supermodel and adorable singer? But here I am, LOVING Luna Stephens. She seems so serious about most things. I watch this video whenever my train stalls for too long because it calms me down. It is also inspirational because I have yet to throw my hands in the air or dance while leaning out of a convertible, which the movie Crossroads led me to believe I would accomplish by 24.
North
It is North West’s birthday today and I also dressed like this for a good two years after I saw this photo, so I can’t deny that she has influenced me more than I care to admit. Also, she sobbed next to Anna Wintour, the most relatable thing on this whole list. Happy birthday, Nori!
There you have it. Hope you all felt the sweet bloom of youth grace your faces once more. Should we all meet in person, let’s agree not to speak of this post.
