CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE PROMPT
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
CONTENT WARNING: kidnap mention /// his real name is vaestkyrn nakos tenua. when he was kidnapped, nobody wanted to pronounce his name vaestkyrn. everybody called him by a bastardized version of it. his real name meant radiant and gentle. over time, he adopted the name vestir which resembles most closely to the zelosian name that means radiant and victory. he doesn’t actually know this fact. he did intentionally pick the surname of his mentor on the pirate crew because she was the only one who showed him kindness and warmth. possibly even more so than his parents who never came to rescue him.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
vestir has not gone back and refuses to go. no matter how much money may be offered, he will not return to zelos ii. despite any fond memories he may recall, there is a caustic taste left in his mouth. he holds a deep resentment towards his “big and powerful” senator parents.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
his birth parents are dead to him (his father is actually dead). they were very active in the politics scene. they were excellent economists. they wanted to reinvigorate zelos ii’s economy by pushing for less strict trade regulations but were unsuccessful in putting their foot down in other matters. their military forces were often sent to follow plans proposing by other neighboring planets’ senators to “benefit” the republic as a whole. their gaping hole in security allowed pirates to infest the planet. vestir still remembers a variety of their capitalist driven values. he doesn’t care much for their teachings about integrity and service though.
his mentor, mykana, was a middle-aged woman who wasn’t a conventional maternal figure. but she did do her best to keep vestir alive, even going so far as getting hit in vestir’s place by the captain. he did pick up his temper from her but he also retained her work ethic, selective & fierce protectiveness, and tendency to be emotionally distanced.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
it’s like vestir has a chronic disease that isn’t properly diagnosed. the force tries to speak to him but he was never taught to decipher it so it feels like a pressure building in his mind. he describes it as a cross of a migraine pain and white noise that he can ignore for the most part. sometimes it’s much worse than others. if he was any more sensitive to the force, maybe on the same level as his baby brother, he might’ve gone completely lost to the pain.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themselves? What three words would someone close to them use?
i would use: stubborn, selfish, arrogant
vestir would say: strong-willed, opportunistic, handsome
he has exactly one person who’s close to him... and that person says: “late for dinner”
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
vestir's way of dressing himself is borderline homeless chic (it is a real thing, and yes, high fashion really found a way to commodify this) and actually looking homeless. it’s almost genius the way he always looks like he has nothing valuable on him at all times. but in almost every pocket is a mf KNIFE or something. his ship looks the same way on the inside. it’s all pretty neat and modest looking, and it’s because he’s hidden stuff everywhere.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
he’s hot tempered. his indoor voice is still him yelling. he wakes up and sits in bed, frowning for a good 30 minutes. he cuts his own hair. pick ass eater. he thinks white lies are fine. he shoplifts; not because he has to but because he can. sometimes he steals from his paying clients too. fights any mandalorian on sight.
he has a weak spot for sugar water. it’s the only thing that gets him drunk. alcohol has no effect on him so he does tend to hustle people into drinking contests. naturally money is a huge weak spot as well.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
he photosynthesizes. it cuts down on expenses so that he has more money for weapons and ship parts. he does not have a refined palette but he is picky once he finds something he really likes
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
um WELL. he absolutely has no interest. there were a few people who have come onto him with sexual intent in the past. he indulged them but he has this incredible way of losing interest 2 minutes into whatever activity they start engaging in. he doesn’t develop feelings easily. he doesn’t like being that close to people because he’s allergic to the spectrum of human emotions and vulnerability. so it comes as a surprise any time someone develops a crush on him. he’s self aware enough to know he always disappoints those people when they realize his cool-guy-devil-may-care attitude is just him being a genuine asshole.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
he’s not super smart but he is tough and stubborn. he learned early on that if he shows people he’s feeling the pain, they’ll think they got control over him. he’ll grit his teeth and bleed out from biting his tongue before he admits that anybody’s got the best of him.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
you know how krav maga’s philosophy is really based on instinct-based movements and using “weapons of opportunity” (if there is a lolipop nearby, he will stab you in the trachea with it) to attack your opponents? that’s how he fights. he’s scrappy and his “””instincts””” are pretty sharp. when you’re a pirate who isn’t given any weapons or even told where all the nearest exits are, you start getting creative so you don’t get your ass handed to you during a raid. he is skilled with blasters but he’s more of a friend-fire on type of person.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
he still says “crink” a lot which is the “fuck” equivalent for outer rim pirates. but don’t get him wrong he still says fuck a lot. he has a lot of stupid yet vulgar hutt imagery that he defaults to when he’s mad. like, “DEEPTHROAT A HUTT’S TAIL” or “choke on hutt slime.” there was a gunner back in his bounty guild who had a deep bias against hutts and vestir picked up on it. at first he thought it was just funny but now he can’t stop. so he played himself
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
well the sith empire withheld his pay a few times because he didn’t do a “good enough” job so he thinks they can deepthroat a hutt’s tail. a jedi once lectured him on his life’s choices. he generally just doesn’t like the jedis because he thinks they’re pompous and doesn’t get involved nearly as much even with their holier-than-thou attitudes. if he had to choose a side, he’d choose one that offers a longer life expectancy for himself
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
easy. they’re getting ONE warning shot so they can get a head start and then all bets are off.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
vestir and aerith were shipwrecked on a deserted area with nobody around for miles. the temperature dropped to frigid conditions. they made an executive decision to share a bed and huddle for warmth. vestir “never cuddled anybody” kano knee’d aerith in the ass. at some point he sneezed on the back of aerith’s neck.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
he is always surprised that he’s able to live for another year. he has no long term goal. he has no idea what that is. he stays alive out of spite honestly. his captain told him he’d never live past 15 with that mouth of his so he never stopped mouthing off at everything since then. although there is a side of him that finds a certain sense of fulfillment from keeping his travel partner safe
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
CONTENT WARNING: human trafficking //// nothing. he feels like everything helped open his eyes to all the ugly truth under the gilded illusions he used to live in. his jaded outlook and “carefree” lifestyle gives him control of his life. also if it wasn’t him, it’d be some other kid. he knows he was hard headed enough to survive this life. he made himself useful and avoided being sold off at several points while he was with the crew. others may not be as fortunate.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themselves and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
No ragrets. he lowkey has stole someone’s bounty after they put in all the hardwork, which is a cardinal sin in bounty hunting. but he didn’t have a way to repair the engine and make sure aerith had enough food to last the upcoming long journey. he does what he has to. if he deems it necessary, he’ll do it
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
finding aerith
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
he cannot stand pets or animals in general. same with babies, really
surprisingly, he can dance. there’s literally nobody living who knows this fact though
every once in 120 years, all the moons of zelos ii are visible at once. he actually misses the moon festivals from his childhood
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
stop playing we don’t have time for this. but to name a few:
he would pour milk first before the cereal
doesn’t know how to whistle
“i need a new gun” “there is no why” “I SAID I NEED A NEW GUN, AERITH” “I KNOW I HAVE PLENTY” “BECAUSE I LIKE THAT ONE”
will stop smiling if you look at him and remind him he’s showing an emotion
has made aerith cry
will sell you for a single cornchip and the pocket change in someone’s pockets
blames you for farting when it was literally his fault
does not want to better himself
pretends he was listening to you then interrupts you just to hit you with a “damn that’s crazy”
that one time (plus 40 more times) where he ran off without his teammates during a gig

SIDEREAL PROMPT / QUESTIONNAIRE
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
There's no any special meaning to his name. It was given to him when he was born and he's been ambivalent about it since. Since his captivity by a Collector, Oli hasn't used it in full anymore. Very few people know his name isn't just “Oli”, and fewer still know anything about his clan name. Something he likes to keep that way.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Oli… realises the significance of his homeworld to himself and others of his species. Part of him considers — sometimes, fleetingly — about returning, but he also knows that there's no future there for him, nor does he believe there ever was. He's not been there for over a century, and even before he was forcibly removed from it, he'd not been on good terms with his clan.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
As a maelibus, Oli was raised communally by his clan; they don't recognise the importance of “parents” above all, and all those born within a generation are siblings. That said, Oli hasn't been on good terms with them for a long time and he doesn't care to change it — his pride doesn't allow him to.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Whether maelibi are truly Force-sensitive is in the eye of the beholder. As a maelibus, Oli is very in tune with it, and he can manipulate it in others; indeed, it's his entire diet. He can't use it like a non-maelibus sensitive can, however, but his relationship with it is specific. People come in flavours, one better or richer or deeper than another. Regardless, he isn't affected by light or dark as normal.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
• iron-willed, generous, principled
• angry, tired, done
• caroc: annoying lil bitch
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Oli's aesthetic is… shimmering. Glitters. Glamour and leather. Bold eyeshadows and bolder nail polish. His cantina reflects it in a dark, sleek, neon way; it’s not a place where people go to be miserable (although he sure does). It’s a place where people go for an experience, aesthetic or otherwise.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
A big vice Oli claims isn't a problem is alcohol. He's a very functional alcoholic, and he can get very irritable (more irritable than his usual) when he hasn't had a drink in longer than twelve hours. Aside from that, he has a begrudging weak spot for those struck by injustices or persecution, the small and genuinely innocent.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Oli doesn't eat. At least, not traditional foods, and thus he's very ambivalent about it. He doesn't understand anyone who's enthusiastic about food, and would honestly just roll his eyes at them. Where his own diet is concerned, he's very…. particular. Unless he's downright starving, he wouldn't eat just anyone, and picks his sustenance very deliberately, especially based on his moods. After all, if you’re craving chocolate, you’re not gonna settle for chips.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Anyone who’s met Oli will account he’s quite antisocial and irritable. He’s polyamorous, though, and the idea of being tied down in a monogamous engagement — with anyone — makes him want to throw up. That said, Oli doesn’t fall in love easily. Indeed, he could say he’s never been in love with anyone, and he’s also not one to really sleep with just anyone. The people he’s attracted to vary widely, and there’s seemingly no rhyme or reason to it. Anyone he’s attracted to, romantically or sexually, he’s attracted to for vastly different reasons, and there doesn’t seem to be a unifying factor.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Maelibi have very tough hides, and Oli specifically has an iron will. Hurting him physically doesn’t break him, it just makes him angrier until his restraint snaps and he sucks you dry.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
Although Oli doesn’t do much fighting, considering he thinks it’s beneath him (and if he does end up in a fight, he uses vocal chords to render his enemies — and allies — useless), but his weapon of choice is, very simply, a blaster. Precision is part of his entire being, from his words to his aesthetic, right down to his shot. Aim bots have nothing on him.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
Oli will call anyone ‘honey’ and ‘bitch’. Although the former may seem a little nicer than the latter, the former is, possibly, more pejorative than the latter. How he picked it up, no one knows, least of all himself, but at this point, it’s as much part of his brand as the rest of his crafted identity.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
He has no negative experiences with either, and the only reason he has currently unofficially aligned himself with the Jedi is simply because he loathes unjust persecution. Nothing angers him more than a large oppressive force committing figurative (or worse still, literal) genocide on a specific people, and he will absolutely go to bat for them on principle.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
There are very few people he considers a friend, and if it were a relative on the opposing side… well. Providing he could kill them with the available tools, he wouldn’t hesitate if it meant his own survival. Above all, Oli is self-preserving, and not even sentimentality will get in the way of him coming out on top.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
Any time he has shown weakness, even in the privacy of being alone, are memories he wishes to forget. Starving in a cage on Nar Shaddaa were some of Oli’s lowest moments, the times anger made way for despair and a fluctuating will to go on are things he refuses to recount, dwell on, or even admit to be true if anyone asked. They anger him, surely, but above all, they frighten him.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Oli’s goal, as it always has been, has been to survive by whatever means necessary. That, and winning. It doesn’t matter what he’s winning, whether it’s a battle of wits or a full-blown war; if there’s something for him to compete for, to end up the victor, to win, that’s his goal. That is his be-all-end-all, I suppose. His pride would allow for no less.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
No matter how much Oli insists on survival, sometimes he wonders what it would be like to not have been born at all. Would it have been better? Not for anyone around him, of course, but just as a sense of personal release. He doesn’t like being alive, but he’s sure not about to give it up either. More practical, the one thing he would’ve changed in his life was killing his captors first chance he got. And maybe not have been as… argumentative as to get himself banished from his clan, but that’s one he’ll never tell anyone.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
Survival is everything. Nothing is too far where his survival is concerned — he’ll kill and maim (and indeed, he has) if it meant living another shitty, terrible, no-good day. He hates being alive but he’ll do anything to stay alive. The one thing that would weigh heavily on his conscience, despite himself, was aiding in the unjust pain of oppressed peoples.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
Which shade to paint his nails that don’t clash with his eyeshadow without making everything monotone. Lol. Na, it’s mostly following his conscience and principles without becoming a target for those he’s harbouring these fugitives against, because he knows… he’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe. And that scares him.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. Having been in the business on Nar Shaddaa for so long, he’s become a sort of information broker for bounty hunters and general criminals alike. Or honestly anyone seeking information about anyone or anything, really.
2. Despite the fact that he isn’t directly involved in the criminality of Nar Shaddaa, he inexplicably carries some respect on the moon. People who have made trouble for him in the past fifty years have mysteriously disappeared, and he just doesn’t seem to want to die, regardless of how many have tried over the years. The general consensus is that that’s one human you leave alone.
3. Indeed, everyone far and wide does think he’s a human. One of ambiguous age that somehow doesn’t seem affected by the ravages of time, but a human nonetheless. Only those of his clan, and a single unaffiliated being, knows who — or what — he truly is, and all of his clan is on Iego and will never leave, and the one other being has been sworn to secrecy on the pain of death of his loved ones.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
• problematic because he’s just so fucking mean? Like why?
• his aesthetic is a mood that I just cannot pull off and he knows how to serve looks like damn
• have you seen his jawline? Problematic
• he could rule the galaxy but he says it’s too much effort and too much socialising...

-- Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: uh like.... existential shit? depressive thoughts? idk)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
When he was first picked up by the Mando’ade, Kal refused to give them his name so they were forced to come up with one for him. He was also a p feisty baby so it amused someone to call him Kal aka the Mando’a word for knife. The joke being like..... he wanted so desperately to be a saber or genuine threat but he was just a lil poke instead. ANYWAY, the name stuck. And of course, Deshra is his clan name.
For a while, his family and close friends would call him Kal’edee when he was being especially feisty (or, in their terms, adorable)-- it’s a nickname that basically means knife mouth or sharp teeth. He calmed down a lot over the years, but the nickname stuck and the one sister that still talks to him still uses it....
also he’s too much of a dumbass to use any aliases even when he has ppl hunting him so like that’s the that on that
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Kal barely remembers Wayland, SO i’m going to be talking about Vorpa’ya since that is also his homeworld.
I mean, he hated it at first because it wasn’t home, but over time he came to love it SO much.... He even loved the hard work that came with farming, although he did very little of that since his specific family were more the guards than the farmers. Being an agricultural world it was Covered in good plants and beauty, though, and he misses it every day. Spaceships and city worlds have NOTHING on Vorpa’ya. Sadly, he can never go back. At least he has his dreams.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
Brief background: Kal has three Mandalorian parents and three Mandalorian siblings, was adopted after a Mando raiding crew destroyed his home and took him with them, and of all of them only his youngest sister is still on speaking terms with him.
Anyway, it grew from contentious to adoring p damn quick, honestly... Kal's the worst at holding grudges and he was only four when they picked him up, so like. He was really close with his family-- they’re still everything to him. Even after the exile and years of no contact, if any of them called him up out of the blue Kal would drop everything for them. There are like...... Maybe two people in the galaxy he’d value more.
As for beliefs-- they raised Kal Mandalorian, following the Resol’nare (with some minor clan-specific tweaks, as Clan Deshra was moving towards a slightly more peaceful way of life), and he fully believed. He still does, actually. He doesn’t uphold the tenets anymore, though, having very slowly let go of them after he left. What this means is he fully believes that since he no longer upholds his culture in the way he was taught, he’s dar’manda, or soulless, and when he dies he will have no place with his warrior ancestors. Instead, he will be either destroyed or forced to wander alone for eternity. Basically, he’s going to hell and he’s (kind of) accepted that.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Kal is as force-blind as they come, to be honest. Like, there is NOTHING in there, the force isn’t even sure he exists let alone the other way round. Regardless, he’s spent enough time around Jedi and other force users to know that something is definitely up. He trusts them when they talk about the force, so he believes in it. He just doesn’t believe it has anything to do with him. (If he were force sensitive he would lean naturally towards the light, though. In some alternate universe out there i can feel him.... trying desperately to use the dark side and failing miserably.)
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: Loyal, obnoxious, clumsy
kal: charming, handsome, useless
jav’nen: dodgy, persistent, sly
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Oh, function 100%. Maybe even 1000%, there is no fashion anywhere in Kal’s closet. If it can’t protect him or make his job easier in some way, he’s not wasting money on it. He doesn’t even have any piercings anymore, and personalized painted armor is a thing of the past. Now, this doesn’t mean he doesn’t get starry eyed and distracted every time he walks past a storefront, but the important part is that he doesn’t actually buy the things he wants.
He has very much the same philosophy with his living space as he does with his clothes. Everything has its function and its place, and unless he’s very distracted or having a depressive episode, everything is immaculate at all times. He’s the kind of nerd that makes his bed as soon as he gets up, and cleans his armor and weapons meticulously every night. No trinkets, no personalization outside of the few belongings that are completely necessary. Any gifts he’s received over the years are in a small safe either in his closet or under his bed depending on the room.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
Most prevalent is probably his willingness to abdicate all thought and responsibility the second someone he trusts tells him to do something. His moral compass is a fuckin roulette wheel because it depends entirely on who’s in the room and who he’s trying to impress at any given time.
He doesn’t really see that, though, so as far as things he would recognize and admit to: every time he takes his armor off unnecessarily or skips one night of maintenance or lets himself indulge in a good meal or a small trinket or a moment of physical contact, he swears he can feel his soul drifting further out of reach. Most of that isn’t even in direct violation of the Resol’nare, but at this point he’s buried his guilt so far for so long that it’s bled into every aspect of life. Any moment of joy or relief feels undeserved, but that’s never stopped him before honestly!! As long as he can continue the tight rope walk of stringent self discipline to keep the sense of doom at bay, and taking as much joy as he can to keep himself alive, he will!!
Also, he’ll do almost anything for some properly spicy food.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Spicy !!!! Call him stereotypical Mando’ade but he loves spicy food to death and back. Mostly because it makes him think of home, but also just cause it’s Good. His favorite meal would be his parent’s tiingilar (a spicy casserole)-- as far as he’s convinced, no one else can make it like they did. Every other tiingilar is a disappointment in comparison. He also has a secret soft spot for uj cake, but will only rarely admit to it.
As far as cooking himself, Kal knows how to make things edible. Barely. He knows enough to survive on his own, and in the wilds he’d be an invaluable resource to anyone less familiar with that kind of cooking, but if there’s literally any alternative you should go with that. Kal’s cooking is for nourishment, not enjoyment. And he’ll eat basically anything, but usually sticks to pre-prepared field rations when left to his own devices.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Kal falls in love at the drop of a hat, but Rarely. Basically, love hits him with the intensity and frequency of a lightning strike. That he falls hard and fast doesn’t mean that he admits it to himself or finds it very easy to actually engage in those relationships though-- it’s probably fair to say that Kal has spent the majority of his life pining in one way or another.
He’s been with a few people, though-- only one previous Serious Relationship, but there was a period of time right after his exile that he tried to be promiscuous and have a few flings. It didn’t end up working very well for him, but it was worth a shot at least.
For him, sex has always been a far secondary priority to romance. He likes it (at least, when he likes the person its with), but it’s never been his primary goal in a relationship by any stretch of the imagination. He’s a full blown storybook romantic, will treasure the memory of a brief moment of hand contact and all that bullshit. Also if he’s in love with more than one person at once (as is the case right now) he would literally rather die alone than be forced to choose. Don’t get involved with him, he’s a mess. Unless you’re into that, in which case by all means let the boy pledge his life to you.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Pain tolerance is one of his primary skills, actually! Finally, something he’s good at !! He can take a punch with the best of them. He has different levels of tolerance for acute pain versus more extended aching, but it’s safe to say that both are higher than average.
All of his joints are pretty fucked up and usually in one stage of ache or another, which he manages with a combination of the right exercises, a consistent regimen of painkillers/stims, and supportive alterations to his armor. On top of that, it’s a rare day when he isn’t carrying around some injury from the most recent adventure. Basically, he hasn’t really had a pain free day since he was a kid, and even then it was rare, so he’s Very used to operating and fighting through it.
Regardless, that kind of torture wouldn’t be the way to get him to cooperate. Threaten anyone he cares about and he’ll cave in a second, but hurt or threaten him? That’s not gonna get you anywhere but frustration. Which is to say, the more you hurt him the more annoying he gets. You’d better hope you have a gag handy.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
Kal has a long standing love affair with his blasters, but he loves his vibroknives even more. Maybe it’s because of his name, or because his aim isn’t the best, but the Second the enemy gets close enough for a good stabbing, the guns are away and the knives come out.
As for fighting style, he generally relies on being quick and fighting dirty. Honor is for suckers, if you left your dick exposed it’s your fault you got kicked in it, catch him if you can motherfucker. It’s not necessarily the traditional Mandalorian training, but his parents adapted the lessons to suit him better as time went on. He never really took naturally to guns or explosives, so they focused more on grappling and melee combat.
That said, he’s not the strongest person but he has a lot of training in how to use momentum and leverage to his advantage, so it’s far from unheard of for him to take down much larger opponents, who might have been much more skilled than him in any number of areas. Also, he hardcore prefers setting up ambushes to being taken by surprise, and puts a lot of work into maintaining that. It’s a rare fight that he didn’t see coming, so he usually has an advantage. Especially now that he’s working with a Jedi !!
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
He tries to minimize that kind of stuff, but Kal still can’t resist throwing up a hushed “Oya, oya!” in preparation for any battle. It’s muscle memory.
He’s also the kind of nerd that says things like “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” whenever someone leaves his general vicinity. Even just to go to the bathroom. Remember how I said he was obnoxious earlier? He thinks he’s so fucking funny.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
WELL... I MEAN.... Take your pick: the Sith kind of indirectly screwed over his whole life, and have caused the death of a number of loved ones vs he was hunted by a Jedi for literal years. The second one turned out okay, though, so he’s definitely aligned with the Jedi at the moment. Besides, he loves a good hypocrisy.
Honestly, though, if circumstances were different he would align with whichever side had more of his friends in it. His allegiances operate at a much more personal/individual level, he kind of doesn’t care what evils a general organization has committed. Things that big picture are hard for him to conceptualize.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
Chances are good the result would be immediate capitulation. Kal’s not gonna fight a friend !!! Unless someone he cares about more tells him to! It would go like this: Kal sees friend, Kal drops gun, loved one tells him to pick gun back up, Kal picks gun back up and continues shooting. OR: Kal sees friend, Kal drops gun, no one tells him to pick gun back up, Kal switches sides to hang out with friend. At his most basic instincts, Kal is at all times essentially Patrick Star.
Friend doesn’t even have to be a good friend, honestly, Kal would fight to the death for anyone from a friendly acquaintance to a bitter rival. That’s just how he operates.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
When they started working together, Jav’nen didn’t exactly share that he knew any Mando’a. I’m sure I don’t need to fill in much more but. You can imagine Kal’s longing for death when it was revealed that Jav’nen had heard and fully understood every idiotic nickname Kal had been calling him for months.
Thinking about it still makes him want to die, honestly.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Goals? Kal hasn’t heard that name in years........
No, but really he’s just waiting for death at this point. I MEAN he has like, smaller, everyday goals. He gets really into it every time he has a job to complete. But if he’s not distracted enough he starts realizing that the rest of his life is just a yawning chasm with nothing waiting at the end, so he’s very attached to those small everyday goals!
Secret ongoing goal that he won’t admit to himself or anyone else: Jav’nen hug.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Not that he would ever, ever admit to it, but Kal’s life would have been very different if he hadn’t been trying so hard to impress his family at all times. Even when they weren’t around. He has no musical skills in this one, but in some alternate universe out there Kal's a great musician and avoids fighting as much as he can.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
Oh, I mean, it’s second nature at this point. Even with his clan’s moves towards a more peaceful way of life, combat is so ingrained in Mandalorian culture that it’s become ingrained in Kal too. He’ll hurt and kill people to protect himself, to protect others, to earn money, to keep busy. When all is said and done, as far as he’s concerned, this is just the way the universe works. Everyone dies eventually, in some way, it’s not his fault that he ended up being the executor of their fate.
It only really bothers him if he doesn’t keep properly distracted.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
How do....... Protect Jedi partner? He’ll never admit it but powerful force users scare the shit out of him more than anyone else, so jedi hunters are like..... nightmare time. With the way the political climate has shifted recently, and his current partnership, Kal’s mind is on protecting Jav’nen pretty much 24/7. Don’t tell Jav’nen, though. That would be embarrassing.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
Oh boy, okay.
1. Fucked joints: I’ve referenced this in an earlier question, but Kal has joint problems. Specifically, he has a genetic thing that means the ligaments and cartilage around his joints aren’t as strong as they’re supposed to be, so his joints bend much further than they’re supposed to and dislocate really easily. This is an advantage in some cases, cause it allows him to houdini his way out of a number of situations, but it also comes with a decent amount of pain. He has his coping methods, though. Such is life.
2. Animals: He doesn’t often get the chance to show it off, but Kal’s surprisingly good with most animals. Part of that low key farm boy upbringing. Anyway, he’ll never willingly have a pet cause he’d be too worried about them all the time, but you can bet your ass he’s taking advantage of any opportunity to pet someone else’s!!
3. Physical Affection: SOMEONE HUG THE MAN.......... By that I mean: Kal is at all times craving physical affection. He’s a naturally extremely physically affectionate person, but between a distrust of the general population and a deep seated desire not to inconvenience those he’s close to, he almost never initiates anything. You know when a dog really wants attention but doesn’t wanna get in trouble for barking, so they just kind of sit nearby staring at you and low key vibrating? Kal. At all times.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
i mean does it really need to be any longer than “kills people for money”
fine
the man has been putting people on pedestals for years will rise to any bait desperate to please at all times over dramatic did i mention over dramatic thinks he’s way funnier than he is is fully willing to let things he’s not cool with fly if someone else says to has been involved in kidnapping and shit would rather die than communicate

Prompt 01: Questionnaire
( content warning for: death mention )
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
listen. listen, amon’s parents were theater geeks. that’s all there is to it-- I MEAN they were geeks in like every conceivable way, but still. yes, they named amon after the titular character from the grand romance of amon daak. amon had to piece it together after he grew up, because he only vaguely remembered that he’d been named for a character from a romance play, so he looked it up one day
he doesn’t have any aliases because if he’s staying off the radar he just... doesn’t give his name out... he’s not that subtle
and he has a few nicknames that i’ll have to get back to you on cause i don’t know them yet...
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
the fond memories are mixed thoroughly with the horrid, at this point-- he’ll always have a fondness for heat and sand just because nostalgia, but a childhood friend of his made sure that even if amon went back to tatooine he wouldn’t truly be going home.
it’s a bittersweet thing, because he wants to love it for all of the joy it once held, but everything is stained with blood now
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
though usually hostile to outsiders, the sand people of tatooine viewed amon as one of their own, and raised him accordingly. he still doesn’t know the details of the relationship between his birth parents and the tribe that took him in, but he got the impression that it was one of the very, very few positive ones that they ever held with humans.
amon himself loved the people he was raised by very much-- though he often felt that they didn’t quite understand him, and he had some trouble adapting to a few of their traditions. he was taken from them before becoming an official adult, and before he would have been expected to fight for them.
throughout his childhood, he had confusing visions of the deaths of the sand people that raised him, which wouldn’t come true until many years after he left. none of them remain alive today.
after leaving them, he was largely raised by jedi master krynda draay, and several of the other older seers she’d gathered as part of the covenant. their care was always far more focused on his abilities than his identity, however, and once it was discovered that his visions grew in clarity and relevance after he’d been through a period of isolation, he spent most of his teens (and very early twenties) having limited contact with the outside world.
he hasn’t heard from krynda or many of the other covenant members since the massacre on taris, and does his best not to think of them.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
there is almost no part of amon’s experience of the world that isn’t colored by his relationship with the force, and his force sensitivity
being half-miraluka, his eyes never developed quite right and he only has partial (and very blurry) vision through physical methods, however he also naturally developed the force sight that’s the hallmark of his mother’s species, and that’s mostly how he navigates through the world.
outside of his natural force sight, he also has force visions of events out of different times, usually forward but also rarely from the past-- this is his main skill, as it’s the one that was trained most thoroughly. now that he’s trying to focus on other things, however, he’s also picked up some minor skills in things like revitalizing friends, providing short term force shields, very slight force empathy, and summoning light
for him, the force was never a matter of belief, only of finding the right words for what he was already so familiar with
that being said, he wasn’t introduced to the concepts of light and dark until his teens, and he still isn’t sure whether he agrees with the binary. as he’s lived his life, he’s seen a thousand different expressions of the force, and there are so many different varieties of light, dark, in between, and outside, that in his own private opinions he doesn’t find the proposed dichotomy a useful way of looking at things.
he does lean very naturally towards the light, however. he has since before he was trained, and he probably always will-- even in moments of great grief and pain, he finds the most comfort and solace in breathing, centering himself, taking time to let himself process and address the feelings and events, and moving on after he’s able to find gratitude within himself again
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: soft, affectionate, idiot
amon: just a man
mohandai: small, incessant and in my business when he has no right to be.
nox: optimistic, naïve, a Fool
he’s baby: best friend forever
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
though it’s been years since he left the sand people, amon still has some difficulty getting himself to wear anything that displays any flesh. good thing for him the jedi like layers almost as much as the sand people do
he tends towards browns, tans, and creams, pretty stereotypical for a jedi, and he’s usually wearing at Least three layers at any given time-- additionally he likes to wear goggles and masks, both to obscure his eyes (they have occasionally disturbed people with their odd appearance) and just because it’s more comfortable-- ALSO i mean, to try and be under the radar now that jedi are being hunted. not that it helps much
it could definitely be said that the jedi/sandy aesthetic expands into any space he occupies, as well-- he tends towards neutral colors in most things, but very much likes to gather things like rocks and plants (and books) so that any space he inhabits for more than a few days ends up feeling more natural (and dusty)
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
if he has an appointment he has to set multiple alarms, because tho he’s fine at getting somewhere on time when he knows what time it is, his force abilities frequently kind of uproot him from his sense of time, so w/out reminders he never knows what time it is
also like.................... he’s a firm believer in second chances, and third chances, and 28th chances-- u can play him as many times as you want, he’s unlikely to ever really put his foot down (tho the slight force empathy does help him Somewhat in sensing intentions, he still ignores it when he shouldn’t, thank god he has friends)
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
listen................. he was raised on hubba gourds and Not Much Else. variety is a gift, plentiful food is a miracle, he will eat almost anything and enjoy it.... most of his favorite foods are Juicy Plants (think watermelon, cucumber, etc just..... star wars)
but he does not cook, because he cannot keep track of time to save his life and he Will burn just about anything he puts on heat
he makes a mean salad tho
he’s not strictly a vegetarian but when left to his own devices he tends naturally in that direction partially because he still thinks of meat as for Special Occasions Only
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
he will be the first to encourage it in others and the last to see it coming for himself
genuinely, he’s the most oblivious in the world-- not that he has anything against it, he loves the concept of love, and he’s not opposed to sex as long as everyone involved is fully consenting (and capable of it) but he has Zero experience in the area. any flirting can and will go right over his head, so good luck
bonus: on the rare occasions it doesn’t go right over his head he is very easily flustered
also he’s gay
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
it’s kind of-- he’s not got the highest pain tolerance in the world, he likes to avoid it when he can, but a combination of his childhood on tatooine meaning he’s extremely used to being uncomfortable, and the fact that he can dissociate at the drop of a hat like nobody’s business, means that it’s still not a very good way to get information out of him
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
his first training was with a gaffi stick, so when it came time to choose his lightsaber he got as close as he could to something that would use the same fighting style, and landed on a green-bladed lightsaber pike
that being said, fighting was always a last resort for him, and he never quite took to it-- he’s much better at using the force to defend himself if necessary, and defusing situations if he can
as for current weapons-- his lightsaber was actually destroyed in the last couple of years, so he salvaged the kyber crystal and kept it out of sentimentality, but is now travelling largely weaponless
also he has Zero skill with ranged weapons he has no experience and terrible aim
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
not so much specific catchphrases (although he does frequently end up saying things like “i believe in you” and “there’s always a choice”), but he does have kind of a particular way of speaking, in that in almost all situations his voice is very measured/even in tone and his words very well considered
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
where to start...............
i mean a sith killed the tribe that raised him, but also he loves her and believes she can make better decisions in the future
and the jedi-- at least, the small sect of jedi he was part of initially-- isolated him for years and then killed a number of innocent kids
but also they disbanded and he’s seen many jedi perform acts of good
so overall he doesn’t generally like to judge based on order but rather on individual
and still, if forced to choose, he’d go jedi every time
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
we already have a whole thread dedicated to this
all he did was throw optimism and love at her i don’t know what else you were expecting
even without someone he loves on the other side he’ll try to stop most fights like........
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
when he first joined the covenant and they tried to replace his clothes with ones that weren’t covered in blood and dust and he threw a Whole fit, yelled, cried, tried to run away
he still cringes every time he thinks about it
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
galactic peace :)
joking (kind of), but really at the moment the goal is just survival, and to preserve as much life and goodness as he can along the way. eventually he’d like to help the order get back on its feet, and get his travelling companion somewhere safe to land, but for now all of his goals are short term and wrapped up in helping people as much as possible
he’s willing to do just about anything to help someone as long as it doesn’t hurt someone else (other than himself) in the process
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
oh, no, no, amon doesn’t play those games
he spent a whole decade immersed in examining the entire galaxy and tapestry of history through the gaze of other possibilities and alternate endings, so no
he refuses to think about things like that with regards to his own life
where he is is where he is, and that’s all there is to it
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
he will Not. do such a thing. to protect himself. if really pressed, he might do it to protect someone else, but he’s more likely to throw up a shield of some kind than actively fight.
amon is a pacifist to his bones
he has too many regrets already
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
jedi purge..... stuck on random backwater planets..... why........ he’s supposed to be low key but he Sucks at it, so they’re forced to relocate every other week or risk being hunted down
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. eyes - since one half of his genetics evolved out of them, but one half of his genetics still largely relies on them, amon ended up with something in the middle, eyes that didn’t form quite right. he keeps them covered frequently, because the flashes of hazy physical sight can confuse his force sight, but also because sometimes people find them disturbing to look at-- his pupils and irises are largely misshapen due to poor development, creating an odd fractured’ look when combined with his minor cataracts
2. droid - to pick up where his force sight leaves off (mainly with reading things on digital displays), amon has a small droid named bang that has accompanied him since he left the covenant. bang’s been through several rounds of repairs and upgrades, and at one point amon even had an engineer add a small terrarium to him so that he could keep some plants with him as they traveled. in build, bang is similar to a cam droid, and likes to hover around making pleased beeping noises when his services aren’t required. he is capable of social interaction when engaged, however, and know basic as well as a few other common galactic languages
3. bag of friendship - part of the reason for amon’s isolation in the covenant is that his visions can very easily be influenced/directed by touching objects of significance. it’s not quite psychometry, as the visions don’t happen immediately and aren’t necessarily tied directly to the object, but it’s more like if amon has come into contact with anything that the force feels like telling him about, then he’ll get a related vision when he next sufficiently clears his mind. like how you’re more likely to dream about something if it was already on your mind. as a way of making use of this, amon keeps a small bag of trinkets on him at all times, each one holding significance to one of his friends, and he reminds himself of them every night before sleeping so that if the force has anything to say about what any of his friends are up to it will be sure to let him know
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
could have directly prevented the deaths of four padawans and didn’t
could have prevented far more destruction and death throughout the galaxy but also didn’t
burns food
has way too many random rocks in his bag
creates a mess wherever he lands
will believe in you and your inherent goodness even (especially) when you don’t want him to
smile too precious
got his droid altered to have a really deep radio announcer style voice when speaking non-droid languages, cause he thinks it’s hilarious
would rather let a villain go in the hopes that they’ll turn their lives around than kill them to prevent further suffering at their hands

「 development questionnaire 」
content warning for mentions of death and violence.
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
aerith lylin is what was given to him at birth. though as he was growing up, he was known as aeri(th) lorus—referred to with his mother’s family name, in order to preserve his father’s position within jedi order. he readopted the lylin surname purely out of spite after his father left him alone on jedha. as for other names he’s taken along the way: valin avalor is the default name he gives when he doesn’t want to use his real one; it’s simply his parents’ names condensed—vale lylin and avadrie lorus. his nickname, aer, came from and is exclusively used by his friend vestir kano.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
aerith’s relationship with jedha is bittersweet. but like, two parts bitter, one part sweet. he spent 22yrs there and literally nowhere else. he was tired of it and tired of the life he led there and it holds some really.,.,.,,,, Not Great memories for him. the chance to leave and see the galaxy came to him and he took it. he would be reluctant to return for more than just a temporary visit. but for all that it is, if there's anything he misses, he misses the vibrance of the culture.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
aerith's relationship with his mother was really, really lovely, and his father truly cannot relate!!!!!! since avadrie was a guardian and that's what aerith ended up training for as well, she was there with him every step of the way. on the other end, he was virtually nonexistent to vale—aerith's birth had strained his relationship with avadrie, paranoid they would be found out and his position within the jedi order would be compromised. when avadrie passed, vale returned to coruscant and left aerith alone on jedha without a second thought, and aerith has never been anything but bitter about it. from that point master guardian inyri looked after him in some capacity. she was there to guide him through processing his grief and confusion, though he had all but abandoned their shared ideals.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
as far as force-sensitivity goes, aerith falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. as a child, he was told he was blessed, and had he been just slightly more sensitive, he may have been chosen to train among the ranks of the jedi. he was raised in a temple no less, in an organization that valued the force just as much as the jedi did, so a belief in the force was ingrained in him either way. he learned to communicate with it, to read it, to let it guide him, but it never took root in him the way it did in others. he stayed because he knew nothing else and thought this was the life that had been set out for him. he stayed until he couldn't stomach it anymore, and still he was surrounded by it. by now he's pretty much cut himself off from it. he still feels it, like an itch beneath his skin. still calls to it in his most desperate moments. but he doesn't trust it.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
anxious, lost, a-damn-ass-fool-and-a-half
resourceful, eager, diligent
"""never stays put""
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
aerith is purely fashion oriented. like…..,,...,..,, Purely. zero functionality. five layers of flowy ass head-to-toe crimson?? that’s just aerith shopping for fruit. he never quite got away from his a lot of his temple-born inclinations, even after bowing out of his discipleship and even after leaving jedha completely. his time as caretaker for the temple meant he often got tasks thrown onto him that no one else wanted to bother with, and that sometimes meant fixing up the damaged robes of guardians and acolytes. he was given access to an array of fabrics, all rich, deep reds, and so he took the liberty of creating something for himself every once in a while. another thing he managed to cling to is ceremonial makeup—something he learned from his mother and still practices to this day. he doesn’t do it for special occasions or anything, but more as something to pass the time when he’s bored and / or anxious. overall: structured, but creative. in every other area of his life, we called this an Organized Mess. "no, it's Supposed to look like that," he says.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
his vices, guilty pleasures, and weak spots are all vestir kano. also he picks at his scabs and wastes too much money on too many damn bracelets.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
aerith used to spend a considerable amount of time in the kitchen back at the temple. if he wasn't assisting with food-preparation, he was at least observing and sneaking bites when no one was watching. when he first started travelling with vestir, after 22yrs of only eating jedhan cuisine, he wasn't adventurous at all, and missed the tastes of his homeworld. he learned pretty quickly that he had to set that behind him and be more open to trying new things. obviously not everywhere they travel offers the same ingredients, so aerith has learned to adapt his favorite jedhan dishes depending on what's available to him. "FuSiON." — aerith lylin
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
he’s ambivalent. aerith has never really sought out relationships that go beyond just platonic. especially after renouncing his position at the temple, he found it extremely hard to connect with those around him. in his time as the temple caretaker, there were a few short-lived flings with off-worlders who had come to jedha on pilgrimages (they sure did """"""find the force,""" huh), but they were always gone just as quickly as they had come. so it’s rare that he gets close to others, and in the one particular instance where he has managed to get close to someone, he’s found that he doesn’t quite know how to decipher his own feelings and pinpoint where they sit on the spectrum of platonic to romantic. vestir smooch challenge.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
his pain tolerance is fairly high. going from daily physically-taxing training to several years of physical labor, aerith has never been a stranger to at least something hurting. it got to the point that he just kind of learned to ignore it and live with it, and even when he receives more pressing injuries now, though he might show it in doses, it takes a lot for him to actually speak on his pain.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
aerith is most comfortable and most proficient with a lightbow. he never made it far enough in his training to construct his own, but when he left jedha, he managed to abscond with his mother’s. due to a moderate level of force-sensitivity, he showed promise early on, it was just a matter of actually honing his ability. though he has some experience and training with close-combat, he’s fallen out of practice and is only just revisiting what it means to use his body as a weapon. (it shows.) an Extremely Anxious Creature™, aerith relies a lot less on actually countering attacks and more just throwing hands like his lizard brain tells him and hoping it all works out. (many times it does not work out.)
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
there's not really anything specifically? though he tends to use a lot of force-related imagery. things like "may the force of others be with you" and other guardians' mantras that never left him are something he uses ironically or sarcastically.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
his father is a jedi and that's it, that's the negative experience. therefore they're all invalid and aerith joins the sith Solely to spite him once again. it might be ""the right thing to do"""" but joining the jedi is essentially a death sentence at this point, so.,..,........,,.. it's a no from aerith.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
he hopes it's his dad so the man can sQUARE THE FUCK UP.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
ha!!!!!!!!! let’s go out on a limb here and say the time aerith misread the situation and tried to lay one on vestir. naturally he realized that Mistakes Were Made like 0.3secs into it. 99.9% sure even he didn’t understand what his own damn self was trying to accomplish here. and so Naturally, he took off—as you do—and locked himself in his room and hid underneath the covers. could not even think about breathing in vestir’s direction for 72hrs. did not look him in the eye for an extra 48. but in this household we support the concept of giving aerith a redo.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
aerith,,..,,......,,. doesn’t have goals. like, he’s just hurtling through life and seeing where it takes him, really. if anything, he’d like to make himself considerably less useless to those who look out for him—i.e. vestir until recently and liora currently.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
he wishes there had never been an attack on the kyber temple. whether or not his father would have still left, his mother would have still been around. he would have been more inclined to continue his training, and might be a full-fledged guardian by now. it’s not that he’s unhappy with the path he chose, but it certainly isn’t what one would call an easy life.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
don’t let the facade fool you; he may seem like the “”uwu all life is precious”” type but aerith will fuckin' kill a man if he has to, and has. he’s not trigger-happy or anything but when it’s come down to keeping himself and—first and foremost—vestir alive, shit has in fact gone down. you want your skull bashed in with a pipe? lightbow bolt to the throat? threaten their safety and i got the man for you.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
learning to readjust to life without vestir, navigating the feelings that come with the situation at hand. trying to find his place and make his way.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
his favorite skill that he picked up in his time as the temple's caretaker is gardening. after living on jedha, he's mostly familiar with desert plants, but one of his favorite things about visiting other worlds is seeing what kinds of flora they have to offer. he will often purchase plants from the markets of worlds they pass through, but his room on the ship is hardly the place to sustain them. he still tries for as long as he can.
aerith has a kyber crystal he acquired in his early years as an acolyte that he keeps on his person at all times. he holds it in times of pain or anxiety, as its faint song helps to calm him.
aerith has a recurring dream / nightmare of the night the temple was attacked. it's always the same feeling of terror, and the same crushing weight weighing down on him. he wakes up with a sharp pain permeating beneath his scars.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
the galaxy’s number one vestir kano apologist
would sooner Die than put into words what he feels and what he wants
"""the force told me you're a dumbass bitch"""
aerith "daddy issues" lylin
is probably buying yet Another bracelet as we speak
requires 12 blankets and 73 pillows to sleep alone
will hide instead of confronting awkward situations
never puts things back where they actually belong
""i'M nOt FrAGiLE""" he says, proceeding to crack two ribs and break his hand
spends three hours putting on makeup only to take a nap
doesn't brush his fuckign hair
will sleep in his day clothes,, all five layers of 'em
aerith: i'm not needy i don't need you i'm finE it's FINE aerith, 5mins after vestir leaves: yes hello when are you coming home

CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE PROMPT
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
CONTENT WARNING: suicide mention //// vaelre was the name of a priestess-in-training who sacrificed herself when mandalorians came to tear down one of the krath temples. she took out the invaders by showing up at their camping site and blew the place up.
chimera was assigned to her. “a thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve.” they needed a name that they could brand her with. she had to become the enigma they needed her to be. her name is spoken like an omen and is especially foreboding when used in tandem with her partner’s alias.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
if given the choice to go back to rhelg, she wouldn’t be against it. it just won’t be super sentimental. home is neither rhelg or the temple walls she grew up in. home isn’t the ashes of her parents who crumbled to their own ambitions or the death witch she called her guardian. for however long her childlike innocence lasted, those years gave her enough fond memories to last a lifetime. she’s not reliant on those feelings. they do provide her with experiences that she can draw from when she plays a role.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
she did love her parents. although they tried to push her into believing that the force and the sith was everything supreme in life, she idolized her parents above all. the way they spoke with such devotion towards their beliefs, she saw them as the ones who opened up the universe and hung the moons and stars. now that they’re gone, so is her faith in the practices of the krath belief. there are some beliefs that she can’t help shake herself of, but she knows that she can’t follow in their footsteps.
galentra, thIS MF. if vael’s parents were the ones who held the heavens up, galentra was someone who fell like lightning from heaven. she groomed vael to take her place as a cog in the sith empire. but she didn’t let vael go without giving her the tools to fall back on. to this day, vael won’t trust anybody completely due to her fear of being betrayed again.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
she yearns for it in the most holy way where she wishes it will stain her through and through. she knows she’s not meant to commune with it in the same way others are. she accepts the closest proximity to it as she can manage. it surprises no one that she would submerge herself in the dark ways of the force if given the chance.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themselves? What three words would someone close to them use?
i’d call her a weaponized manic pixie
vael would call herself “FuN EdG3 L0rD”
boaz would describe her as a “charmingly cute disaster” or “(the) headache i (can’t/won’t) get rid (of)” the latter is more than 3 words and i misused the parentheses but i don’t care. it had to be said
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
her habits ranges from wearing the same outfit for 3 days straight to constantly changing outfits mid day. and no, the outfits she changes into aren’t always clean. ultimately it depends on if she’s working or not. but her everyday outfits has a lot of gold and deep red tones. long flowing fabrics are fun but she doesn’t always have enough money for those. her workplace is described as organized chaos, but it’s more chaos than organized. she’s a bit of a hoarder. just a tad.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
haha. sex. it’s sex. she was taught that sex could be used as a tool to control others. but she also treats it like small talk about the weather because this is how she gets to know someone. for most it’s a quick hack into seeing what their personality is like. but most times she’s just having a great mf time.
she also drinks a lot
as far as bad habits go, she likes poking at her bruises. doesn’t drink enough water. chooses foundation that’s too late for her complexion but says it’s part of her aesthetic.
she has a weak spot for people who start talking about stuff they’re real passionate in. *chef’s kiss* she loves that shit
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
will eat cardboard if she has to. she’s the type who puts ketchup on stuff and calls it a day. she’ll try anything once really.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
she doesn’t do love. she does hate being alone. she’s dated a string of people just because she had the time and found someone attractive. humans, near-humans, aliens, nobody is safe from her! she’s gotten out of that habit for the most part recently. having the work spouse around has “””grounded””” her. like having an external conscience that’s a lot harder to ignore
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
that scene in Umbrella Academy where Klaus was tortured but he got turned on. that’s the approach vael would take with being hurt for the sake of intel gathering. she knows how unsettling it is for other people. when she’s set on something, her stubborn mind will sacrifice everything to reach the goal. sometimes she’ll get so angry that it clouds every pain receptor in her head. she’ll bulldoze her way over to you in a fight, intestines trailing along if need be.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
she wields a mid-length serrated blade. it’s not the most efficient weapon but it is effective for maiming. her combat skills aren’t as refined as other fighters. her fighting style is more sorcery based for mid to long range fights. she specializes in manipulating bolts of lightning.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
she’s a parrot. she’ll pick up anything she hears often and then lose it if she’s not constantly around it. right now she’s in her “LOOK....LOOK” phase
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
there is a distinct memory of a directive officer who questioned whether boaz was purposely letting their captive off easy. the officer used vael as an example to get to her partner. she was left tip toeing the edge of consciousness before the officer had let the offense go. it took her weeks to recover fully.
despite vael having more negative experiences with the sith than the jedis, the sith culture is all that she knows. she grew up hearing about the monster on the other spectrum of the force for so long, she’s never stopped to question it. she’s convinced that she’s help convert and torture so many of them, that they would not offer the luxury of repentance to her.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
::::||| oh you mean, how will she react to being betrayed? she’s grabbing her knife and charging
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
these memories mostly of the nsfw nature. once she tried to sit on someone’s face and accidentally broke their nose. it’s like 60% embarrassing, 40% funny to her
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
essentially, vael aims to go through life unapologetic and uncensored. she outgrew her objective to be stronger than her parents. she realized she doesn’t want to become strength embodied. in actuality, she just wants to be adjacent to it and be in its company. she wants to find something to be passionate and devoted to, something to lend her skills to. the sith empire is the closest thing that fulfills that need
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
she would like to have killed galentra before she had the chance to sell vael off. she imagines herself being a vagabond, traveling through space. there’s a part of her that assumes she’d still end up where she is today.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themselves and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
it’s kill or be killed. she’s never held others’ life in high regards. if someone needs to be taken down, she’ll get the job done. what is a regret.... if her parents were alive, that would present quite the dilemma for her though. good thing they’re DEAD. D-E-D. DED
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
adjusting to having her audio perception being out of whack. any time someone talks to her on her right side, she can’t hear shit.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
she experiences frequent night terrors. it’s only when she’s absolutely exhausted that her mind won’t jolt the rest of her body awake in the middle of the night. this is why she’ll always be the one who sneaks out first after a one-night stand
she is a really good artist. with her illusion based powers, she’s required to picture the scenes in her mind first. this comes naturally to her as she’s a visual person. she’s completely self-taught
it’s in her gut, this feeling that the other shoe will drop any time soon. she doesn’t know what she’s expecting exactly. it’s not like things are going super well for her, but she is comfortable. she has this paranoia that sometime will change drastically in her life.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
cries on command to get sympathy
impulsively spends money
steals boaz’s rings sometimes
takes everything personal
always plays the victim
cackles by default. no giggles. no small chuckles. just cackling.
can’t navigate to save her life
never learned how to drive/pilot either
stole candy from a baby once

H E A D C A N O N S // boaz.
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
BOAZ — it was more or less given to him, the name his parents gave him has long been forgotten along with his parents. as a child, watching the stars, he thought it was the name of a hero that chased villains through the void, that battled warriors like the stories on the monoliths. he wanted to believe something like that about himself. there was a group of children and they ran wild through the digs, through the quarries, through the histories that were dug up about their people — and boaz was just what they called him.
VIPER — reputation means a lot in his type of work, you’re selling a front and that front need to be bought before you even walk through the door. viper is a scare tactic. he picked it up in the business — with eyes like a snake, it started to follow him around. silver tongued ; temptation ; liar. they begin to expect something larger than life to walk through the door with a reputation blood-red as his. something with teeth, with a trigger-happy finger, with no intention of letting them get out of here alive — and that’s not what they get. viper is just a man. and they relax. it makes it easier for him to sell his story — easier to strike a still target.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
simocadia was a dusty, mountainous world of buried history, monoliths sunk beneath the ages, rock quarries left to age beneath the stars along with their stories and histories. they would run out beneath the night sky, surefooted against the rocks, pretend they were warriors of legend that have long been buried. boaz has fond memories of that part of it. that small sense of freedom. it’s something he’ll never return to and has become something to crave. he always fails to mention the body he put beneath the rocks there. he knows that he’ll never go back. simocadia is a strange place now. the emptiness of space, the blood on his hands, has left that terrible place of home in his mouth.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
boaz was raised more or less by the children who ran wild among the digs. he had parents, he was sure but he didn’t know them. they could have been any of those obsessive types, lost in a history that didn’t matter anymore. and children do as children will — they live lives as big as they can before reality starts to connect. there wasn’t much of impression left on him except that if you wanted to be the one everyone liked, you had to push the bigger kid off. xerda has left more of a mark. simocada is rich in agrocite — a rare ore that can be used for fuel and to enhance beam tools such as cutters, lasers, and rifles. it’s quite useful to have one of those quarry kids who know the mines better than anyone on your side. she saw something in boaz — he’ll never really understand what it was, he never asked. but the life she offered was much different and far away from the body he buried. xerda has was not a gentle person. she didn’t coddle or protect him, she didn’t teach him right from wrong. she taught him: business is business and the only way to get where you want is to push the bigger kid off. not exactly in those words but it was something boaz understood. he is very underhandedly ambitious and doesn’t believe there is a line that would be too far to cross. it’s kept him alive thus far.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
boaz is aware of that he has something. xerda has saw it when he ran guns for her. he knew the right people to talk to, he could find his way back to her even if she left him on the other side of the planet, he was the good luck charm to many of the runners. neither of them knew what it was. he was informed of it when he allied himself with the sith but it was simply left at that. he might be a tool to be sharpened, they told him but boaz has seen nothing of that promise. he believes in it but his belief is based in more of there must be something better out there. he doesn’t want to believe that what he is right now is it. it’s something he keeps to himself, however. boaz is squarely in between but he very much does not want to lean towards the dark. he sees how it corrupts, how it mangles, how cruelty can be the only advancement in a place like this and boaz knows he’s not like that. or — he believes he isn’t. he desperately wants someone to show he isn’t like that.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
dumb ambitious bastard.
miserable exhausted bastard.
manipulative sleepy bastard.
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
he tends to be decently put together for the most part. he leans toward functionality but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate fashion. it’s just functional clothing tends to hold up better in his line of work. black clothing hides blood splatter and you still look professional after four days of not sleeping / torture. accessories extend only to jewelry and while he doesn’t wear it often, he actually has a lot of it. too much. necklaces to earrings to rings, precious gems to precious metals to a few items he’s taken off bodies. boaz keeps his appearance in order but his living spaces are very much not in order. he tends to fall apart when left to his own devices, falling into a quiet survival. he doesn’t live like a slob but it’s clearly just lack of effort. there are clothes and jewelry and weapon components spread out pretty much on any available open space.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
gambling. something he got into with xerda, finding potential buyers in casinos or gambling dens and luck usually lends itself to him. it becomes almost a place of comfort for him. he can melt into the crowd and listen, sell his trade when he isn’t needed for an interrogation. he can lose himself in the tides and pull of whatever game he’s playing.
the jewelry he collects. he has a rather bird brain about shiny things. he likes to collect them even if he will never wear them. he just like having them around him. they remind him of stars.
tends to zero in on annoyances. pops his knuckles in the quiet to see who hates it and then exclusively pops his knuckles when they’re around. he doesn’t do it to everyone ( because he might get killed if he does it to the wrong person. ) but once he finds something — he won’t drop it.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
He’s not a picky eater, he likes to try new things and doesn’t think twice about what it looks like so long as it’s food. growing up, a good meal was rare and then it was a battlefield with xerda has. he tends to find new places to try out, hole-in-the-wall types to noodle shops to street food — he’ll give it a try at least once.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
boaz never really thought about it. in his line of work, there’s not much really beyond the occasional stress relief which boaz didn’t take part of much. love is a little more complicated. boaz has thought about it, wondered, tried to see himself with someone but he has never acted on anything. he isn’t curious about it, really. it’s more — he has no idea. it’s something that’s not happened much and he doesn’t have to think about it.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
a high pain tolerance but he doesn’t like to just keep going, going, going. he would much rather just have you come along willingly. if it comes to fighting, his aim is take you down within the first five seconds of a meeting going sour. due to the fact that he is an interrogator, he can hold out a while before he caves because he knows how interrogations for information works.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
a gun runner as teenager and then a dealer as an adult, boaz has a preference for guns, particularly rifles. he can fight with his hands but he just would rather not because he has to use those later. he isn’t a sharpshooter _ well, he isn’t really much of a fighter. if he can talk his way out of it, he will. his fighting style is dirty and quick and he is not afraid to grab for any advantage. there was no training beyond what he picked up on simocadia and the other runners with xerda has which was just fighting to win rather than skill.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
boaz tends to pick up and drop things easily. it’s easier to blend in when you don’t have something that can be traced back to you. he can be whatever the room calls for — a gambler with a bad cursing habit. an arms dealer who can’t stop swearing on his mother. a drunk who won’t stop trying to saying ‘now this is how it really went down’. that said — he tends to repeat words as in, “listen — no, listen.” / “look. look. LOOK.” / "what? .... what? no, what?”
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
boaz has very little, probably no interaction with jedi. he knows they’re out there — well, they used to be out there. with the sith, he sees the corruption even if he doesn’t understand it. something within him actively rebels against it even if he isn’t sure why it’s happening. because of that, he has a tendency to not trust anything the sith say or do. they’ve mentioned word about training him in using the force but that has never actually happened. as his employer, there have been times when answers / information has been unsatisfactory and he’s had to answer for that. torture isn’t beyond the sith. and neither is withholding pay. although gun to his head, life on the line — he would side with whatever they wanted to hear. deep down beyond his immediate survival instinct, he would probably choose jedi.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
he would be at first shocked to see them but then he would carry out his job. it’s just good business.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
the only thing that really embarrasses boaz is being make to look unprepared in front of people that either he works for or is doing business with. among the runners, hazing was a thing and they would put the new kid in dangerous situations with no proper protection or gear and they would just have to figure out how to deal with it. this is a lot where boaz learned to be such a smooth talker because he hated to be made a fool of. xerda has once set him up with a buyer with no preparation and sat there while boaz bumbled through trying to sell the guy a gun he didn’t want. in the end, boaz’s persistence got him a hard fist to the nose all while xerda laughed.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
his main goal is to stay alive. he will do everything it takes to stay alive even if it means taking down the people next to him. he will do what it takes to survive and that’s an instinct he’s never been able to overcome. he can be compassionate but his ambitious rules utmost. all that said — boaz wants to be saved. he believes that the sith do not hold the answer to what he’s looking for and he’s putting a lot of faith into the order. he wants to know that he can be better than this.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
he wishes instead of xerda has finding him, the jedi found him first. he believes that has they found him first then he would be on a very different path. probably one where he likes himself better.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
he will do anything and everything to survive. boaz is focused on keeping himself alive. every one of his dealings, all of his business is to secure a future for him. he will absolutely hurt or kill someone in order to do this and has done so before. boaz can be ruthless when it comes to making sure he gets what he believes he needs in order to survive. he has no regrets at all about the things he’s done — well. except for one. the only regret that boaz still carries is the boy he killed on simocadia by accident.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
getting paid. and probably vaelre but in that ‘they’re My problem” way.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
boaz really enjoys stargazing. so much so that he’ll extend visits planet-side long enough that he can look up at the stars and try to find planets he’s visited, systems he remembers, and places that he’ll probably never see again. it links back to his childhood, lying on top of huge, half buried monoliths of history and staring up at the stars and having that sense of hearing the stars sing and knowing what they were saying. watching the stars is probably the closest he’s ever been to interacting with the force.
he is actually a fairly good teacher when it comes to teaching people things such as weapon handling, gambling games, and probably even torture tactics if someone really wanted to learn that. he can be patient and even gentle with showing someone how things work. a lot of the things he knows he had to learn on his own and he doesn’t feel like it should be as much of a struggle as it was for him.
although he doesn’t have regrets and he doesn’t think of himself as an evil person — just someone misguided, he wishes he was what someone would call a ‘good person’. and he tries to do things that could be classified as doing good despite his line of work. this comes out in different ways for different people. trying, however, doesn’t not mean doing. a lot of times his survival instinct kicks in and it overrides the good things he’s done.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
thinks it’s totally okay to just leave his dirty socks around.
“i need to clean my gun” is not a valid excuse to leave a conversation, boaz. it’s not. come back here and face ur decisions.
vael: i have done nothing wrong ever in my life boaz: i know this and i love you
i can go the distance.mp3 but in the key of bad decisions
probably dabs
“i want a better life.” continues to make poor decisions
100% will betray you if a better deal comes along
bites his nails
has a thing for rings. ( gollum voice: pr. ecio .. u . s . )
sold his boss into slavery that happened who does that
viciously ambitious
gambles a lot and loses your money sometimes on purpose
“i’m going to bed” and then doesn’t sleep
has a lot of emotions but thinks he’s a stone cold bitch
“do as i say, not as i do” as he fucks off and does god knows what
“......... Look.”
says he’s a ‘people person’ but spends all his time alone
doesn’t Actively create drama but loves drama
sith sith they’re our man, if they can’t do it GREAT

H E A D C A N O N S // sehrin.
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
SEHRIN — his birth name, yes. sehrin quite likes his name. it was the name of a queen who at the announcement of war is claimed to have yawned, gotten up from the throne while the messenger was still speaking and said something insulting in regards to the lack of sex appeal and how that greatly offended her. the messenger returned home and reportedly did not deliver the message due to embarrassment and war was thus adverted. true or not, sehrin considers her to be one of his greatest heroes.
HASI ; VASH ; Y’RI — various aliases that he uses most frequently. you’ve probably heard of them if you’ve been skulking around smuggling depots or reading wanted posters. hasi and vash are both zeltron names, borrowed from celebrities on zeltros, known for their ... more adult holographic content. that was more than intentional. y’ri was the name of a bounty hunter’s dick that serhin just got a kick out of. a lot of his aliases are jokes that he found funny.
AND MORE! — sehrin goes by many names and often gives out random names that he’ll just immediately forget. he’ll sweep you up in a whole identity of this person only to re-introduce himself as someone else ten minutes later. it really depends on how spicey he’s feeling.
content warnings for NSFW material, violence, and drug mention.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
“honestly, darling, if you want a good time, go for it. good times are what we specialize in. they’ll treat you real good until you or your pockets run dry — whichever comes first.” disgust. if zeltros went up in flames, sehrin would find a safe place to watch it burn. it stands for pretty much everything that sehrin hates, the flamboyant rich emptying their pockets just to glut themselves on things they don’t need. zeltros is a place where you’re used up, dried out, and thrown away. you’re sold this lie of pleasure, made to believe you should give it your everything and afterwards, you’re neatly packaged up and left to rot. sehrin was used, abandoned, abused, left for dead, beaten, and tossed away and he — he has absolutely no love for zeltros. he has no family that he would want to keep around. no one that he would ever want to see again, no one that matters to him. it’s filthy cesspit of pleasure and sehrin has no use for it. would he go back? only if he was paid an exorbitant amount and allowed to fuck shit up.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
sehrin was raised by petty thieves and pickpockets who lived on the lower, unsavory parts of zeltros. opposite the higher pleasure levels of zeltros, the lower parts are less concerned about the intoxication of emotions and more concerned with using those emotions. his actual parents gave into the revelry and simply never came home one day. the thieves broke into the small quarters and found sehrin sitting on the floor. brakhin and sha’bi ( both aliases that sehrin uses ) more or less took him in as his official parents but those who raised him were the small criminals of the underground. sehrin learned how to pickpocket at a young age, petty thievery into scamming, into learning how to manipulate emotions or use pheromones to sway a crowd. sehrin had a rough childhood, the criminal underworld is not kind to its children. he quickly learned how to turn it around so he was the ones calling the shots. he still uses a lot of what he learned, how to turn a bad situation into something that works for him but there is no love lost between those sehrin left behind when he left zeltros.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
eh, sehrin is not that sensitive to it. he doesn’t not believe in it but he also think it’s just a joke. you can’t sell it, you can’t steal it, it’s not something that has value to him. it’s superstition and while sehrin loves to mess with the superstitious because if they’re gullible enough to buy that — they’ll buy anything, he doesn’t see why one would wage a whole war in the name of it. he would probably muddle up in the middle because he’s got a business to run and while he’s not a bad person, he’s not entirely decent.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
pink idiot hoe
charismatic powerful leader, dashing heroic prince(ss), mouth-wateringly beautiful seductress. ( with sparkles probably as he winks, where the fuck did the glitter come from )
“what the fuck”
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
zeltron are noted for their revealing, provoking clothing. skin tight, short cuts, leaving hardly anything to the imagination while adorned in jewels, make up, and anything that galaxy would call beautiful or expensive. sehrin might have left zeltros behind but that doesn’t mean he stopped being zeltron. however, he prefers the more traditional zeltron clothing — those worn in theatre, opera, or for traditional celebrations or ceremonies. loose, very sheer fabric that drapes and flows. flowing sleeves or sheer robes, he likes ruffles and lace. that said, he also loves he reveals a lot of skin with low cut outfits or simply not wearing anything at all. jewelry tends to be more of an afterthought, he wears it but they’re usually small pieces. a single necklace, a few bracelets, the occasional ring. sehrin feels like his biggest asset is his body and he shows it off in the ways he knows he looks good — he’s immediately pegged with that soft, pastel pink skin and all that comes with it. sehrin plays into that especially when he knows it’ll get him somewhere. his hair is naturally magenta but he dyes it black and wears it long with beads, braids, feathers, little coins all woven into it. this is pretty much all the ornamentation he gets into. he loves make up, glitter, although left to his own devices, sehrin will dress up and float around in whatever he finds. he likes costuming, he loves dressing up and he absolutely will throw on a full face of make up and a dress just because he wants to but, in his own little world, he tends to keep it tame. ( well, as tame as sehrin is which can still be pretty wild. as in naked. ) i’m pretty sure what i’m saying is that his aesthetic is sexy space pirate who stars in an opera. he absolutely has a big hat somewhere. his workspace, however, has very little room for error. everything is packed and logged and sealed away as efficiently and as orderly as possible. he refuses to have chaos when he’s dealing with work because that’s when people believe they can get in and start messing around. sehrin likes to have fun, he loves a good party, but business and business and he will not have someone coming in and fucking things up. however, his living space roughly resembles a dressing room with a cigarette still smoldering in the ashtray, costumes thrown about on the bed and mirror and floor, make up and glitter spilling out of containers and onto countertops. there’s jewelry spread about, the bed probably still has someone sleeping in it. it smells like vanilla, heavy perfume, and smoke.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
sehrin wouldn’t call them vices. they’re more ... adventures simply waiting to be had.
zeltrons come with a certain reputation and he absolutely uses that in order to get something. aside from that, one thing that is overlooked is zeltrons also have a limited telepathy control over both their emotions and the emotions around them. sehrin can both inflame, dampen, or simply bombard with emotions until things begin to happen his way. he can also read them which can be very useful in finding the right target. he doesn’t hesitate to use it. he also has very powerful pheromones that can be used to sway someone to his suggestions.
he is very indulgent about life’s pleasures — “darling, just because i would rather see zeltros burn in a fiery cataclysm of doom doesn’t mean that i disagree with them. oh no! we have the better taste in pretty much everything.” he will spend more money on something simply because it is expensive. he spends money that isn’t his. he will absolutely run through your savings and then some. if you say something along the lines of “i’ll be the one to satisfy you” then he will very much test that.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
sehrin might enjoy the expensive things in life but he’s never really been too picky with his food. when you’re running through space with no depot, planet, or station near buy and supplies start running low — you make do with what you’ve got. he certainly enjoys expensive foods and will never say no to them. he loves to experiment in the kitchen and try out new things with mixed results. he knows to how to make ship stew ( which is basically a stew with all the leftover food you have no idea what to do with ) and it’s ... decent but he isn’t that great at anything more complex than that. he, however, disagrees!
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
oh boy. sehrin likes sex — like, he really does. it’s an information tool which he absolutely utilizes but also just a way to be with someone. zeltros thrived on sexuality, on pleasure seeking, on living your life to the fullest because we’re all just hurdling through space with no rhyme or reason — sehrin mostly agrees with that. he was taught that you can have absolutely anyone if you played your cards right. he uses sex for information, he can manipulate emotions and give off heady pheromones that can sway thought and he has a reputation to keep up. people say the darnedest things while they’re in bed, thinking they’re safe from the world outside. sehrin listens, he learns, he adapts. sex, however, is still something he sees as an intimate thing. a romantic at his core, sehrin almost wishes that someone would come and sweep him off his feet and carry him off into the sunset. almost. i wouldn’t say that he’s in and out of relationships, he starts them and then lets them continue on until the other is done.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
“whoa! whoa, whoa — hold on. darling, you really don’t need all those. i’ll tell you what you want to know ... just take off the cuffs and we can have a lovely little chat. oh, unless this turns you on? is that what you like, darling?” he actually has a pretty low pain tolerance. his confidence level, however, balances that out. and most of the time he can sleaze his way out of situations before he is actually hurt. he can hold his own in a fight generally but he’s not exactly going to win anything. physical strength isn’t his strong suit. he absolutely will cave the second he is threatened. although, he’ll set a price for his information.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
he carries two blasters on him pretty much all the time along with various knives tucked about on his person. he doesn’t like fighting and he prefers to stay out of it as much as he can. he’ll absolutely turn around and run if that’s going to keep him alive. he’s very survival driven and that can often be read as cowardly but he would simply say, “oh no, darling, not at all. i’m living another day while you’re rotting in the ground. from where i’m standing, that’s the better deal.” he can fight, he’s just not that great at it. he fights dirty because that was what you did on the streets. he quickly learned that fighting isn’t going to get him want he wants. he would rather just slide into your lap and play with your hair and flirt a bit.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
“oh, darling!” sweet names are pretty common on zeltros and people usually respond nicely when it feels like you’re sweet on them.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
he really doesn’t have too much experience with either. he’s smuggled weapons to the sith before but there’s been very little interaction with the jedi. the sith he would describe as being harsh and stingy on their payment but he did get paid. that’s really all he knows about them and all he really cares to know. the jedi don’t interest him at all. “oh — forced? darling, i don’t like the sound of that. but, gun to my head, hm ... oh, i don’t know ... whoever pays better?”
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
if it’s someone that he cares about, he would be upset. but he would quickly try to figure out how to turn it around and make it into an advantage. he would pretend that it didn’t hurt and simply just keep doing what he’s doing. “... i see. well. i can’t say i’m surprised. never trust anyone who can’t properly get you off.”
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
there isn’t much that embarrasses sehrin. he will probably do anything at least once and he’s learned that living a life filled with regret just isn’t really his jam. he prefers the adventure and if that means laughing at himself as he does ridiculous things — so be it. now, others getting caught with sehrin in embarrassing situations for them? absolutely has happened.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
sehrin really isn’t goal-oriented. he’s reward-oriented! the goal is and has always been success — be that rising above the petty criminal rings on zeltros or getting recognition from the exchange or simply getting what he wants. somewhere deep, however, deep beneath all his glitter and glam and operatic behavior — sehrin really just wants something or someone to call home. he’s never truly experienced a home, not a loving one at least. he wants that but at the same time, he doesn’t know if that’s something he’ll ever find.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
he would probably still be on zeltros, raised on the revelry. he wouldn’t change anything — he would probably still end up where he right now.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
sehrin will do what sehrin does best, smuggle goods behind enemy lines and learn how to bend the war around him. he will find the winning side and when it’s convenient, he will help out. he will kill others to protect himself, he’s done it before and he’ll most likely do it again. once, however, he becomes attached to others and has adopted them into the fold — he will absolutely crush a man’s tracheae for them. he doesn’t regret it, people die and people live and other people make profit off the both of them. he plans to be that third party.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
getting paid on time. also finding and meeting trustworthy folk who won’t totally stab him in the back, he’s fine with minor backstabbing but there is a limit to how much backstabbery one can take.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
loves opera. he learned about opera from a young age and would just get caught up in the story, the music, completely swept away by dashing heroes and tragic heroines and their epic stories. zeltros does not have a very big opera scene — opera often incorporates tragedies and zeltrons hate anything that deals with negative emotions — and he had to get his fix elsewhere. he has a really large collection of them and he will stop at planets that have reputed opera houses just to watch them. he actually has a really nice voice! and he will reenact scenes and parts whenever he’s just really feeling it. he gets into it and he has a lovely singing voice!
he has a few tattoos he’s gathered from across the galaxy. around both his wrists are lace cuffs. several electro-tattoos as well, poorly done and the information has been hijacked after many years. scanned, they tell a very long story about a man and his adventures with his large penis. the true information was for the smuggling rings back on zeltros but he has no use for anymore. he also has a few unconnected constellations which he can brush off as freckles. they’re special to him and he doesn’t want just anyone knowing what they are.
his agility stat is 69 so do with that what you will.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
britney spears circus.mp3
chel voice: well that’s what makes it interesting
is basically chel from el dorado
advanced student of the bend and snap technique
he really is basically this video.
“oh darling i do hope that isn’t another blaster in your pocket — because you look as happy to see me as i am happy to see you.”
wink wonk
personal space???? not on this ship
“oh yes darling i heard you” he did not hear you
“i prefer the term ... adventure capitalist”
walks around naked just to see ur reaction
sits in your lap like nbd but cld also pick you up and carry u away
reckless driver
lowkey has a thing for bounty hunters ... “oh i don’t know darling they’e dashing! what can i say, i’m a girl with unexplained and specific tastes.”
wonder woman voice: a bAbY !!!!!!

H E A D C A N O N S // io.
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
IO — given to him by his human mother, it came from one of those fairy tales about a goddess who lived on a moon of ice and was pursued by a rival moon. she ran within the shadow of a giant with a great red eye. the giant fell in love with her and called her the jewel of his crown. as they danced together, moon and planet, the giant would hide her away whenever the rival moon appeared on his horizon. hidden shadow-deep, the goddess and the giant were married. to this day, they are lost in their dark space, lost in one another, dancing for the rest of time. io was the name of the moon, the bejeweled crown. JCHOR — was his father’s surname which in the sephi language would translate into roughly ‘the faraway one’ or ‘distant one’. it is derived from a word in the sephi high language that described the beauty of a star on the horizon during the twilight hours.
content warning for torture / violence / abuse.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
io was born on coruscant to a human mother and a sephi father — but most of his memories are of the jedi temple. he was brought to the temple when he was five years old and was raised in its shadow and in its teachings. it is the only home he knows. he did not see much of coruscant during his early years aside from minor missions down in the lower levels. even as a padawan, he didn’t much like to explore to it. fond memories, absolutely. does he miss it — in a way, yes. he is homesick for it but he also understands that there is nothing left for him there. it would not be his memories he would be returning to. his home resides in the balance of the force which will never leave him.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
given to the jedi at such a young age, io does not remember much of his parents, if anything. he remembers his mother and her dark hair but there is nothing of his father, nothing more of his life before the jedi. raised and trained to be jedi, it is the only life that io knows. along with the other younglings, io learned how to balance the nature of the force inside himself and how that can ripple into the world around him. io thrived in that, lived inside that balance. his masters taught him well, kind and patient and io wanted to learn more than anything. he was a good student and even more, a good jedi.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
as a jedi, io’s relationship with the force is that it exists within everything — heartbeat to heartbeat, it is a living thing that intertwines and connects the world together. he centers himself within it and finds his strength there, letting the edges fuzz until the world makes sense again. he very much believes in it and at this point in time, it is the only thing he has left to him. he leans toward the light but his current choices and attitude call that into question.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
exhausted, sad, trying-too-hard
resilient, steadfast, and honor-bound.
tahir: “belongs in sunlight”
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
under normal circumstances, io would have leaned more towards fashion. he took time to make sure that he was put together and orderly and while the jedi robes did not offer much in terms of fashion, he did have his own little tastes added to it. a lining of color on his robes, a colorful belt, robes that were made for ornamentation rather than function — the masters had many talks with him about modesty and humility. io never saw it as a means of haughtiness — only that he thought it was pretty. he would also wear jewelry such as ear cuffs, dangling earrings, ring bracelets, and way too many necklaces — he particularly liked feathers and would incorporate those whenever he could. he would also try to incorporate traditional sephi clothing where he could — long, layered sheer robes and ornamental jewels in his hair. much of his fashion tendencies were reserved, however, for ceremonies. currently, io is doing the best he can with what he has. stolen sith uniforms that are singed, ripped and dirty to blend in should someone stumble on him. he’s a little more gaunt at the edges, pulled apart by what all he experienced and he doesn’t at all feel like the jedi he was — but he still maintains order where and when he can. his hair is unevenly chopped, his hands shake too much now to shave, and people don’t look twice at bumbling space vagabonds but at least his face is clean. in his own space, io is very organized and clean. he likes functionality in his space, being able to breathe into it and exhale out of it. he doesn’t have very many possessions and he doesn’t keep much with him. just a place to rest his head and meditate and that works well for him.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
he tends to keep all his secrets and thoughts and feelings to himself. a part of him doesn’t want to burden others with whatever he is dealing with — often he believes that he has to find the solution for himself. it’s very difficult for him to ask for help because he doesn’t want to appear weak. he will hold everything in until he finally just explodes. io does not like his anger, he doesn’t like being out of control. angry, he will say things that he doesn’t mean and things can get out of hand very quickly. this has become more of a problem due to his new trust issues.
io tries to not indulge in guilty pleasures, keeping a balance within himself and his wants. he did, however, keep small little stashes of jewelry and make up — he enjoys making himself look and feel pretty. he loves luxurious baths and soft things. he’s sensitive to tactile sensations and so things that feel good against his skin he tends to hold onto. they aren’t things he indulges in but he enjoys them.
does things for the aesthetic like meditating in front of a pool of water, staring out at the sunset as he talks, uses high speech when he doesn’t need to.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
io is actually very picky about his food. it’s a matter of texture and flavor and certain things just don’t taste right or feel right. he isn’t adventurous because of that, preferring to stick to things that he knows. he likes staple foods because he’s learned to tolerate them and trusts those flavors / textures. he is vegetarian and likes spicy dishes and hearty soups. he absolutely avoids anything remotely related to the ocean / water. if anything even looks like it could be mushy or slimy, he will avoid it. well, when he had means to avoid it. these days, he’ll take what he can get.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
a misconception about the jedi is that they cannot love — the jedi can love and they do. love is a powerful thing and a strong part of the force. attachments are only dangerous without balance and can be used against the jedi. it is when love begins to translate into obsession and that becomes possession which quickly devolves into power to possess the object. it no longer is love at that point — it is a tool to collect power and use it for selfish reasons. master aima, his first master who was known for her radical views and zealotry, told him this. io was warned later after her death to take her words carefully. io, however, has had dreams. and in his dreams, he falls in love. it has never been anything that he as acted upon or sought out. the feeling has only ever been a passing curiosity, an interesting thought. he has had feelings before but they’ve all remained undeveloped and io slowly let them go. he doesn’t allow himself to get too attached for people beyond gentle compassion. for love, he has no experience with it and thus has no opinion. it would not be something he would immediately deny, however.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
a trained jedi knight, he can very much hold his own in a fight. injured, he is still dangerous as he can also use the force and the powers that lends to him. he can take a lot and that was a surprise to him. io is very naturally stubborn which was a trait that the jedi sought to smooth over as a padawan and for the most part, they did — however, it has come in handy. during his torture, io has managed to to keep himself alive thus far. he doesn’t want to find out what his breaking point would be.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
a lightsaber. he is formally trained for melee combat but he has tried his hand with ranged weapons as well as hand-to-hand combat. his preferred fighting style is form ii, makashi — a very elegant and flowing style. io is very much a duelist, quick, efficient and precise as he doesn’t have brute strength to back him up. he doesn’t like to fight dirty, every battle should be balanced but that doesn’t mean he won’t.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
not so much words or catchphrases but he goes from speaking casually to speaking rather formally with very little warning. his formal speech or high speech comes from his encounters with sephi folk who are considered elegant high-browed conversationalists. he’ll wax poetic about something he enjoys or he’ll curse every known hell when he’s angry. it peppers throughout his speech and he’ll go from lmao to ‘you’ve set a mountain upon my heart — how can you expect me to take a step when every word you have spoken has hooked sharp claws into my flesh — do you wish to hear me scream? the sound of my agony?” in like two seconds flat.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
all of his negative experiences, io lays down at the feet of the sith. for if not for them, the jedi would not have involved themselves with the war. io would not have lost both of his masters. he would not have lost his home, his family, his senses, perhaps even his mind. they have invaded and entangled and trapped every good thing that io as known, spreading that dark corruption through and beyond. he would not be chasing shadows, searching for survivors among the slaugtered, unable to sleep because of the nightmares. he would not have been tortured for four years. he would not have lost tahir. io has never wavered in his faith to the order. he would continue to uphold it and its precepts until his dying breath. ( i say this but also like pls try to make sith warlord au happen. )
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
heartbroken. in many ways, io feel responsible for those around him. he feels that as a jedi, he should be the one to guide them to the right path. f someone decided to stray from that or were twisted from it — io would feel that he failed them.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
a mission as a freshly made knight just went really badly because he did not ask for directions and he had to listen to several lectures from his masters about the importance of asking for help when one needs it. io understands all of that was important but he was trying to look cool and that did not pay off. this has not stopped him from doing things simply because he feels like it would make him look cool. he also just sometimes says really embarrassing things in high speech and like have to deal with that as people just look at him funny for a whole minute trying to understand what he said.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
survival. right now, it’s simply just staying alive. he would like to find the other jedi and seek an end to this conflict but that won’t happen if he doesn’t stay alive long enough to find safety.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
io would not change his life given the chance. there would be minor tweaks, things that he would wish he could change but understands that even if he could, it does not mean the outcome would be different. io lives with what has been decided either by himself or by those around him and he continues on. he does not hold onto the past to try and fix mistakes — he pushes forward into the present to fix them.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
io will do what it takes to survive but he would have regrets about killing or hurting someone. he understands that war is war and lives will be taken but he would justify it as self-defense — protecting those close to him and himself in order to survive. one life, however, is not worth more than another. that said, he will absolutely kill someone if he means that he can make it out of this alive.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
the aftermath of continuous torture. he has night terrors and his hands shake. there are times he stops breathing, echoes of pain that he can’t stop feeling in his body. he is constantly checking over his shoulder for bounty hunters, assassins, or anyone with ties to the sith. this makes getting anywhere very difficult. also tahir.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
as a padawan, he was very gentle. master aima almost didn’t believe he had the heart to learn combat skills. he would look after those younger than him or those struggling with something. a student struggling to meditate and io would simply sit with them and patiently guide them through it. he was very compassionate and he wanted to be helpful to those around him. his personality has changed over the years but that want to help has not gone away. it’s just buried beneath the torture.
he’s superstitious. he believes in those small little remedies for luck, fortune, and good will. he will pick up good luck charms or little pocket spells or talismans and keep them with him. he has a tendency to believe that when bad things happen, it’s because of a curse which has lead to an imbalance of the force. salt in his pocket, cutting his hair at certain times, crossing his fingers, making symbols, repetitive touching on good luck objects, all of it.
io in his natural habitat probably would be a 1950s starlet collapsing dramatically onto a settee in a silk robe with her arm over her head saying ‘oh, darling!’ as the light falls dramatically and perfectly over her face. but make it star wars.

-- Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: violence, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, self harm........ maybe don’t read this actually he’s a mess)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
Tahir was named by his mother, on Denon. He doesn’t have any memory of what it might mean, but suspects that it’s something unfavorable (he’s wrong).
He doesn’t have any official aliases because whenever he’s on the run he just refuses to tell people his name... He might have to develop one in the future, though, if ‘on the run’ ever becomes a permanent status.
The Master he’s serving at the moment has a ton of annoying nicknames for him that if anyone else tried to use he’d have to fight them. She only gets away with it cause he’s terrified.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Like those of his mother, Tahir's memories of Denon are almost nonexistent. He assumes it was very similar to Coruscant, all tall buildings and gleaming grime. It has a worse reputation, though, so maybe it’s more grime and less gleam.
He never intends to visit.
On the topic of Coruscant, though... There are a few too many memories to have a fond opinion. Both good and bad, the emotions weigh heavy on his tongue when he thinks of the planet for too long. He doesn’t miss it. He won’t. Another place he never intends to return.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
The Jedi that raised Tahir were... He wasn’t their favorite student. Tahir was something of a problem child from the beginning, although he did try his hardest. It wasn’t ever that he wanted to disappoint them, the lessons just never really clicked.
Luckily, he was able to fake his way through well enough-- he learned all the right things to say, and when to say them. If things weren’t so dire for the Jedi at the moment, he might have warranted more attention and restriction, but as things were he could fight well and paid lip service to the code and that was all that really mattered.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
For Tahir the force has always been dark. Clearing his mind, meditating, focusing as hard as he could... The light was always weak and thin, as though through murky water. That doesn’t mean he didn’t keep trying, but in every event that went past his training, every time his instincts kicked in and the force reacted without preparation, he leaned into the dark.
Close, warm darkness, thick on his skin like the pollution of Coruscant summers. Maybe it’s corrupting him, twisting his mind from the inside out, or any of the other horror stories that the jedi warned so strongly against, but he doesn’t care anymore. It feels good, it feels right, that’s all that matters.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: cowardly, guilty, repressed
tahir: gone (yes he knows that’s less than three words)
io, relationship complicated: betrayer most foul (also, ‘i’m going to kill that bastard’)
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Left to his own devices, Tahir is a Mess. As evidenced by his hair growth and shabby wardrobe ever since he officially left the Order. Before that, he at least kind of tried to maintain appearances, but why bother at this point? He thinks the ragged cloaks and beard make him look more intimidating, anyway. He does very much like to collect shiny things, though, which can sometimes be seen in both his wardrobe and his living space.
Speaking of-- he calls the monster that spreads over every space he occupies for too long organized chaos but anyone else would call it a mess. At least he knows where everything is.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
There’s... so many. All of Tahir’s habits are bad, all of his pleasures are guilty, the man is one giant weak spot and I’m not sure he has any virtues.
But seriously, I don’t even know where to begin. I mean, I guess, he’ll do just about any drugs that are offered to him? Especially at this point he’s eager for any sufficient distraction-- he’s somewhat careful to keep himself from growing dependent, but it’s a thin wire. It’s kind of a... Russian Roulette kind of thing. He’s far too afraid of death to actually take his own life, but he’s not above daring the universe to do it for him.
It doesn’t help that his force abilities seem to grow slightly in power the more he loses control, although he has yet to try and take on a fight when seriously impaired. Also, he tries to avoid hallucinogenics after a couple of bad experiences.
For bad habits, he chews his nails pretty consistently (the ones that are left), and has a hard time leaving wounds alone.
And if anything hits one of his big guilt spots, the will to fight might just leave him completely.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Tahir has a surprisingly strong sweet tooth! And, when he’s not being a grumpy butt and denying himself things he doesn’t think he deserves, he’s kind of picky too. Not enough that he’d make a big deal about it, but it’s definitely not uncommon to see him pushing his food around his plate and delaying until he can reasonably say he’s full and leave to find something better.
He does enjoy cooking, but it’s a secret secret, partially because he doesn’t commonly get around to it. A few old friends might miss his experimental dishes, though-- he has a fantastic grasp of flavors, even if he doesn’t always get ingredient ratios and cooking times quite right.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
He’s deadly allergic to love, to be honest. Tahir’s felt its poisonous touch before, even let himself become fully infected at certain points. but he’s always done his best to rid himself of it quickly. Love’s a stubborn bastard, though, isn’t it? Sometimes even when you’ve severed ties to someone completely, it lingers.
Sex is a different matter, though. Like several of his other indulgences, it’s a good distraction and nothing more. He’s never officially been in a relationship but he has had a number of sexual partners over the years.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Higher now than it used to be. One doesn’t really lose an arm, get a new one, and deal with the ongoing maintenance of a mechanical prosthetic without getting used to a level of pain.
More than that, though, there’s always been a certain allure in pain. At times when nothing else can cut through the haze, it’s there, strengthening him, reminding him he’s alive. Reminding him that at least his body cares if he’s alive, even when he can’t muster that instinct anywhere else. It’s a stalwart friend.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
The boy has a double bladed lightsaber (w a white crystal) !! Cause he’s just that stupid. Listen. He just wanted more stabby parts. And lightsaber is actually one of the few things he excelled at in the academy, so he spent as much time training as he could-- so far he’s managed to avoid seriously injuring himself.
As with many that wield a double bladed saber, his fighting style relies more on agility than strength. On the battlefield, on a good day, he becomes a blur of whirling light and robes, hopefully as difficult to hit as he is to track. He tends to rely on many small injuries to weaken his opponent before going for the kill rather than a more aggressive strategy.
Without his saber he goes from ‘good’ to ‘okay’. In cases of unarmed combat, he resorts to force tricks immediately.
Actually, what am I saying, he uses force tricks the whole time. If he can use his abilities to up the confusion of the moment and weaken his opponent in any way, he’s going for it.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
Not as much catchphrases, necessarily, as certain speech patterns that pop up consistently. That is, Tahir back pedals like every other sentence, and is constantly contradicting himself or dancing around the subject. What do you want from him he’s a chicken shit.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
Ahahahahahahahaha
Ahem. I mean his experience with both has been pretty shit. Growing up among the Jedi wasn’t a wonderful experience for him, and it could be argued that he’s lost even more since he joined the Sith. Tahir would be hard pressed to say anything good about either organization, but then again at least the Sith let him be himself.... Sort of.
Besides, he’s already aligned with them, right? That’s not really a decision he can really take back at this point, not after all that he’s done.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
I mean I guess we’ll find out won’t we !!!! Or, we already did at least!
So far it hasn’t stopped him, or even really made him hesitate. He’s killed... At least one of the people that helped raise him at this point. Hard to say what he would do if it was someone he actually cared about, though.
(That’s a lie.)
(If it was someone he really loved on the other side of the blade he’d let them kill him.)
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
All of them... How terrible, to recall existence.
But for a real answer-- take your pick of any of the times he accidentally force cloaked at the academy and couldn’t undo it until Io came and calmed him down. The idiot.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Survive! Survive!! And when you’re done keep surviving!!! The goal is to somehow be alive at the end of all of this bullshit!
Maybe someday if he heals somewhat he’ll develop like... Things that are worth living for, but right now it’s down to base instincts babey!! And moral obstacles are no match for raw instinct!!
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Just one thing, huh.... You drive a hard bargain. Fine. If he had the choice to only change one thing, he’d rip his stupid inconvenient emotions right out of his chest. They’re fucking everything up.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
Doing what you have to to survive is the name of the game babey!! He’s killed before, he’ll kill again. He’s killed strangers, masters, friends. No one is off limits. He would have a hard time getting himself to kill innocent kids but that’s no guarantee he wouldn’t do it! If they wouldn’t get out of his way!
That’s a lie he likes to act tougher than he is and kids and animals are his weak points!
He loses no sleep over any of this!
That’s also a lie he hasn’t slept unaided in like........ years.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
He’s supposed to hunt down the one person that might actually give him pause to fight. How is he supposed to cope with that? I mean, he’s gonna, but he’s not gonna be happy about it. How does he even find this fucker, anyway? Bait him into a trap, probably.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. Force Cloak: The ability that Tahir has always found easiest to access and activate is the ability to cloak himself in the safety of the force and disappear from view. Unfortunate that he instinctively reaches for the dark side to do this, but it’s very effective regardless. When he was a child he could barely control it, but over the years he got it firmly in his grip... And then lost it again when he started relearning the force through the dark. Now it’s more powerful than ever, but mildly out of control again. Any sufficiently strong fear or fear-adjacent emotion prompts him to immediately vanish, whether he likes it or not.
2. Force Healing: Something he had zero talent for in the Jedi academy, this is something he’s actually been working on in secret since turning dark. Approaching it from a different angle has given him new insights, and while he has yet to practice much on others (there are few willing participants and even fewer people he would trust to know about his pet project), he’s gotten to the point where he can heal himself fairly well. Not from anything mortal, but flesh wounds are easy enough. Splitting skin only to watch it knit back together again under his own power has become something of a mild fascination. Not that anyone can know.
3. Sith Civil War: It’s a secret, but given the power struggle among the Sith at the moment, and that his base of operations is on Korriban, and that his master is pretty powerful and politically involved, Tahir has fended off his fair share of assassination attempts. He’s probably killed just about as many Sith as he has Jedi at this point.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
WHERE DO I BEGIN......
listen, you read this far, you Know
there is nothing un-problematic about this boy except for MAYBE his fondness for creating tasty eats.

-- Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: ...violence? vampire adjacent material?)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
caroc was given to him by his clan, though he dropped his clan name when he left. sound is really important to the maelibi so it probably means something special but fuck if he ever bothered to find out.
sometimes if he really needs a surname for something, he’ll steal his partner’s. one of the softest things he ever does.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
he’ll get back there someday babey. no but really, people aside, caroc loved his homeworld-- there’s something special about the relationship between the maelibi and the force surrounding iego, and it tugs at him a little no matter how far he gets away. also like... time is weird in the rest of the galaxy? and people are weirder about being munched on out here. please. he just wants a snack.
there are experiences out here that he wouldn’t get back home, though, so maybe he isn’t Always thinking wistfully of home. he could be convinced to stay. maybe.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
not..... the greatest. maelibi children are few and far between, given how long-lived they are and how few natural threats they face. when caroc was born, he’d been the first child in.... a long time, and there ended up being pressures that came with that. pressures that he appreciated about as much as his elders appreciated caroc’s interest in exploring the surface.
after enough arguments he hoofed it north and established his own den, far closer to the surface and the other planetary residents than most of his clan dared to sleep. he didn’t keep contact with any but a couple of them, and doesn’t miss them much now.
there was a lot of group-based thinking baked into him from the moment he was born that never sat well with him, being primarily inclined towards a solitary life. it’s still all in there, though, urging him to look after those nearby and other pesky shit.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
the force is caroc’s whole life. i mean, he wouldn’t have called it that before encountering the sith, but he’s very well familiar with the life song that thrums through the universe, using him as its instrument. it sustains him, he sustains it, the force colors everything about how caroc interacts with the world. they’re inseparable.
dark and light aren’t really concepts that occurred to him before leaving iego, but there is... something different about the way that the sith wield the force. the jedi techniques sound even more foreign, though, so if caroc was forced to define himself he’d say he was gray.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: cranky, slow, curious
caroc: leave me alone
dhirh, the only person caroc suffers intimacy for, says: a whole meal
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
if he could get away with wandering around nude he would. no one’s allowed to touch his bunk cause he’s stolen like ten blankets and has them arranged as the Perfect cozy hole.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
what.... aren’t.... i mean like his whole personality is drive people away before they can hurt you so. i mean i guess at least he doesn’t really do alcohol or anything but that’s only cause it has no effect on him?
in terms of more concrete bad habits, though, he tries to keep it to himself but he’s a habitual tinkerer/fidgeter. only he’s not really that keen on the putting it back together part. what i’m saying is if you hand him a piece of technology and don’t impress upon him how important it is that it stay together, you will be getting it back as component parts. he and luro went through like three rounds of com sets before this was figured out. and then one more out of spite.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
people..... tastey. or at least, their force essence is. the more force sensitive the meal, the better. caroc doesn’t need to eat all that often-- strangely, even less often since leaving iego, but that’s a mystery for another time-- but when he does, he’s not very picky. whoever happens to be wandering nearby is perfectly fine. or at least it WAS before he had a JOB and RULES.
now he has to like.... ask permission and shit. unless they’re an enemy. at least he can refrain from killing a friendly snack, though, when enemies are thin on the ground.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
caroc loves One person, so it has been, so it always will be, unless they break up with him and then he’ll go back to not believing in the concept of love.
i’ll have to get back to u on the sex question cause idk what the maelibi even get up to
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
pain isn’t a very common experience for caroc. it’s less like he has a high tolerance and more like it’s just.... really difficult to get through his blaster-proof hide. pain is rare enough that he has a Big reaction when it does happen, as can be attested to by a couple of the luro’s coworkers. when you bust through the hide he’s very vulnerable.
and honestly chances are good that whatever someone would be hurting him to try and learn, he’d just tell them right off the bat. he doesn’t really want to experience much pain again, if he can avoid it, so it’s either he’s not locked up well enough and they’re dead or he capitulates immediately. unless it’s about dhirh and then everything else becomes unimportant and he’ll die first.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
body...... he doesn’t get ‘weapons’
which i suppose you wouldn’t if you had like, talons and the ability to drain someone’s life essence
caroc’s durable enough that his combat strategy is usually just to let the opponent tire itself out and then move in for the kill. he’s generally pretty slow but does have occasional bursts of speed, they wear him out tho so he usually doesn’t bother.
training..... in the arena of life babey
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
you know that phase it seems like every three year old has where the only thing they can say is ‘why?’ and they say it in response to literally everything? that’s pretty much caroc when he’s forced to interact with someone
he is genuinely curious but he’s just also invested in annoying the shit out of whoever he’s talking to
i mean even he gets tired of shenanigans like that eventually, but.... he usually has more patience than his opponent does
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
caroc doesn’t think he’s met a jedi yet (if he has, he wasn’t paying attention). he doesn’t think much about them other than wondering if they’d taste different than sith and unaligned people do.
the sith have kidnapped and tortured him and the person he loves most. but one is also promising a reunion, so. the jury is out.
though he’s technically aligned with the sith at the moment, all things equal and situations resolved, he’d probably align with the jedi just out of spite. not that they would be likely to take him, but, you know. theoreticals. (also he just really wants to know what a jedi would taste like)
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
unlikely. he’d do his job, though, to the minimum requirement. caroc wouldn’t willingly kill someone he considered a friend, but if they were attacking him specifically he’d be willing to knock some sense into them. more often than not in a battle, though, he’s acting as a shield more than a weapon so it would probably be a moot point.
unless the friend was dhirh or Maybe one specific other maelibus, in which case he’d likely switch sides immediately.
this is subject to change as he potentially makes new friends, as unlikely as that seems
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
literally every social interaction
especially any one where he genuinely doesn’t know what’s happening
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
find dhirh. no method is off limits. next question.
after that?? doesn’t exist yet. not worth worrying about, so no concrete plans. only vague ideas.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
caroc doesn’t think about things like that. things happened. it’s not worth wondering about alternatives. if he’s going to do any dreaming it’s going to be about the future, where things are still mutable.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
caroc has been killing people since he was a child, it’s second nature.
only.... something is changing, a little bit. as he gets to know people, for the first time, that he would’ve considered exclusively prey before. he’ll never admit to it, but questions do keep him up at night. who were all those people that he killed? what lives did they lead before he ended them?
it may not change his behavior, but caroc has a newfound respect for the fact that other people also have lives and loves and that that’s not always something to be taken lightly.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
his whole life. is a problem. at the moment. everything
it’s cool tho he can wait it out
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. tinkering: this isn’t something caroc just spontaneously picked up after leaving iego, it’s something that’s been part of him for a long time. at home, his den was littered with machinery and engine parts from dismantled shipwrecks. he’s always been curious, about the surface and the other life on iego especially, and one of his few joys came from reconstructing machinery (all wrong) to make himself small useless machines. not that he’ll share this with anyone new willingly.
2. Force Flavor(tm): due to his.... appetites, one of caroc’s abilities is a sense for the ways in which the force clings to people, and the different ways it dances around them depending on how they call to it. he characterizes the force, always, as a song, but he can hear an individual’s song well before he takes a bite. it’s become an unexpectedly useful tool in managing social interactions since he left home.
3. games: caroc loves to play dumb, seriously, it’s one of his favorite things to do. BUT he pays a lot more attention than he pretends to. he’s vastly more comfortable knowing more than people think he does, in all situations, he feels it gives him an advantage and lessens the chances of making a genuine misstep. also because i named this section games: he fuckin loves games, man. card games, numbers games, not so much reaction time based games but you get the picture. he eats that shit up, even if he does everything in his power not to appear to.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
1. eats people
done
oh, also, loves to make interacting with him as unpleasant as possible

(content warning for: disordered eating, maybe substance abuse?)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
Her birth name was largely picked because one of her moms thought it sounded pretty-- it’s not much deeper than that from an in-fiction perspective.
And Uria Grata, the primary alias that she uses, is the name of a girl whose identity she stole... So it was picked for that reason LOL. Her second most used alias, Violet Waxbi, was designed to help her blend in among various different groups while on the job.
Out of fiction, I’m a giant fucking nerd and adapted her birth name from that of a brood parasite (aka bird that puts its eggs in the nests of other birds), and her aliases are both plays on the name of the bird that this specific brood parasite takes advantage of.
Also when she was a kid some of the other gang members called her Songbird (because i said so), and she still occasionally uses it as a call sign or whatever.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
i mean............... she’s definitely not still there! kinda sucks when ur planet goes boom but she’s coping ! sort of !! sure wish more of her family and friends had gotten off planet with her !!
So mostly she tries to avoid thinking about Taris. But. There aren’t many positive memories of the planet itself, it was dirty and and oppressive and, later, war torn. Most days she didn’t see the sun, and good food was hard to find at the best of times. Memories of the people there are much more favorable, though, and sometimes she misses that. Sometimes she even misses the smell and everything just because it was so familiar.
Getting off Taris was one of the best things she ever did, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt sometimes.
Getting her family off Taris was just as important, even if it took a lot of convincing-- but with the Exchange taking over, even they could see that things weren’t likely to get better. A good quarter of the Hidden Beks had managed to find refuge elsewhere before the quarantine and Taris’ eventual destruction, Vidu’s family included.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
She loves her moms!!! and the other older swoop gang members that helped them raise her! Loves them so much she almost didn’t leave for Coruscant when she got the chance but they weren’t gonna stand for that... It was a very tearful mushy goodbye.
Growing up, there was a lot of emphasis on loyalty and working for the good of the group, and she still carries that with her, though she’s expanded her gang to include the whole of the Republic at this point. Just one huge family. Also, a healthy dose of distrust for strangers.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
I mean maybe if you squint real hard there might be a hint of force around her but like....... Not enough to do anything with. Once in a blue moon she has a gut feeling abt something and it turns out right, but like, it’s probably just intuition? She does believe in it well enough, though-- like, she’s seen a few Jedi at work. They do fancy stuff that seems to support the whole force thing. She doesn’t think about it very much, but she knows it’s out there.
If she had more sensitivity she would rest somewhere in the middle, though. She’s all about shades of gray.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: determined, resourceful, scattered
vidu: i don’t have time for this (yes she knows that’s more than three words)
del, sis agent: stubborn, protective, hot
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
god she misses the days when aesthetic didn’t matter as much..... she spent her whole youth running around in whatever fabric she could throw on at the last second.... although occasionally she made the whole gang attend her “fashion shows” but even then, it was mostly her making her brothers and anyone else nearby dress up silly......
now, though, she has to dress up and accessorize properly as a matter of survival. if she doesn’t look the part, who knows what’ll happen? this applies to her apartment, too-- it very much looks the part. although, it and her desk are also Always some level of a total mess. there’s lots of shoving dirty clothes under the bed when someone comes to visit.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
in her down time, she’s a real sucker for anything that feels luxurious. vidu almost never takes a day off, but u can bet when she does she spends the whole day in the bath!! u can also bet she spent most of at least one paycheck on super fancy soft sheets, and has more nice alcohol in her apartment than she does food.
she does have the unfortunate habit of substituting drink (alcohol, caf, experimental energy drinks, protein shakes, etc) for food, though, and most days she only eats once because she forgets so easily. she’s just not used to food being that easily accessible!! she probably never will be!! and if she’s not in polite company, chances are high she’ll scarf her food so fast it gives her a stomach ache...
other bad habits: having zero relationships outside of work, and finding dares almost impossible to resist
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Oops i guess I talked about it a little in the last question, BUT.... yeah, she’s not great about food. As a kid it wasn’t always easy to come by, and now that it is she doesn’t know what to do with it. How do manage eating schedule?? How do GROCERY SHOP?? ???? ? No. If she doesn’t snag something at work then she’s either not eating or she’s ordering out.
Pretty sure Vidu has never cooked-- that was more her brother’s thing. She’s not like, burn water bad, but.... She does avoid it like the plague. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t occasionally hoard food when she does remember to go shopping, though. There’s a lot of shit in her cabinets that never sees the light of day.
In terms of what she will eat, though.... I mean she’s eaten things a lot grosser than anything you’ll find for sale on Coruscant. She can and will eat bugs off the ground on a dare. Let’s leave it at that.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Vidu’s never really been in an official relationship yet, and she’s dead set on keeping it that way until her single status stops being a career asset. At the moment, being able to flirt around without worrying about someone getting hurt is too important to risk a relationship.
She will occasionally have a one night stand, though, when she’s not too busy. It’s just nice to indulge in the fantasy, sometimes. She's developed a number of crushes throughout her life, but has yet to follow anything through.
Also it’s kind of a given, in her mind, that she’ll end up sleeping with someone for career favors someday, but it hasn’t come to that yet.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
I mean she certainly doesn’t like pain !!! She’s also incredibly stubborn, though. So it ends up like this: she’ll whine for an hour about a stubbed toe, but she’ll keep working on a sprained ankle without saying anything to anybody (limping pathetically around the office and then straightening up whenever anyone comes into view..... Faster limping when they turn away).
Also if she ever gets tortured, she’s already worked out that she’s going to take as much as seems plausible and then immediately start lying her ass off. Come up with a story and stick to it. Last just long enough that it would seem like she’d broken for real, and then start giving false information out the wazoo. With this method, she hopes to never actually find the limits of her pain tolerance cause she doesn’t know what they are and she doesn’t want to.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
Vidu tries to avoid combat as much as possible-- even when things got bad on Taris she made herself useful by transporting supplies and doing basic first aid, rather than being involved with the fighting too much.
That being said, she also has stupidly good aim. She’s been handling blasters for most of her life, and has spent a lot of time doing target practice, but has more limited practice with moving targets. It’s been more than enough to keep her alive in any combat situations that have come up, regardless.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
When she took on her new identity, Vidu did a whole overhaul of her vocabulary. There was just too much that was indicative of where she came from-- now that it’s been a few years, she rarely makes slip-ups anymore. Also, given that 90% of her interactions are work related, she’s in customer service voice (and the stock phrases that go with that) like... Most of the time.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
i mean the sith blew up..... her whole planet and a good number of people she considered like family. there’s no coming back from that, she’s gonna be down with sith till she dies. Outside of that, though, she’s pretty forgiving. See: going to work for the republic after they royally fucked up defending her planet. She hasn’t had many experiences with the Jedi outside of bureaucratic nonsense, but she would still pick them over the sith any day.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
I mean she’d certainly try to avoid fighting them until they had a chance to explain themselves. If it came down to it, her aim is good enough that she can generally fake missing people by inches, if she needed to uphold a cover but still wanted to let them get away.
It would certainly warrant a good talking to later though!!
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
That time her older brother talked her into sneaking out in the middle of the night to try out a swoop bike for the first time. It turned out it was broken and minorly exploded when she turned it on, naturally alerting all adults in the area. Her brother was gone by the time they got to the scene, but Vidu had tripped getting off and was dealing with a busted nose for too long to escape.
It’s mostly embarrassing because she should have known better, her brother was always pulling shit like that.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Destroy the Empire. Not really. I mean yes, really, in the moments when she lets herself go really hog wild with the daydreaming, but. She doesn’t imagine that will happen in her lifetime. In the meantime, she’s content to aim for running the Strategic Information Service and getting it really set up to start crippling the Empire’s operations.
Her steps have been pretty good so far, she’s already in a position of some mild authority within the organization, and she’s slowly building a network of powerful people that value her opinion. She’ll get there someday. The ends justify the means, in this case, so...... She probably wouldn’t stoop to murder but even that is a tiny bit questionable depending on who it is.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Taris not being blown up would be..... nice..... Most of the things she would change are so far outside of her control that it’s not even really worth dreaming about, honestly. If Taris hadn’t been blown up, if the Mandalorian Wars hadn’t fucked them, if Taris hadn’t been a shithole in the first place-- it’s not worth thinking about.
There’s a small, secret part of her that thinks maybe a nice calm life with her family would be okay, living under the radar on Bogden with them, setting up a chill lil smuggling operation. Would be great, even, but honestly even in her daydreams she knows that she would get bored of that really quick. She doesn’t know who she is without some kind of crusade.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
As mentioned previously, she’s a big proponent of the ends justifying the means. If it’s to protect herself or others, she has no qualms about killing or maiming, and she’s done it before. For reasons less vital than defense there would be... Hesitation. She hasn’t been put in a position to find out, yet, whether or not she’d be willing to kill someone who’s not a direct threat in order to guarantee the success of a bigger picture goal. If she did, though, she would be torn up about it for a while.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
Vidu’s job is consuming her every waking moment, right now. It’s a good distraction, honestly, from having to think about everything that’s been lost in the fighting. Her biggest problem right at this particular moment is that one of her agents didn’t return from a mission recently, and she hasn’t been able to re-establish contact for a good while, so she probably has to recruit someone knew to re-establish coverage in their sectors.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
okay here we go again:
1. Agents: Vidu’s first recruit was a smuggler named Del Kos, and her suspiciously well trained travelling companion, Scorpio, though he’s technically not on the payroll. Anyway, Vidu and Del get along really well and it’s actually terrible when they end up on the same planet cause Del inevitably gets Vidu drunk, and Vidu is both a lightweight and a really rowdy drunk, so Scorpio always has to step in and manage things or it ends with Del starting a bar brawl while Vidu goes full wrestling announcer voice and takes bets from her perch atop the bar.
At the moment, Vidu also manages two other official agents, but I want to leave those open for later development so I’m not gonna go too much into them.
2. Bike Skills: Vidu’s actually really good at swoop bike racing but she can’t tell anyone!! It would blow her cover!! But she is, at all times, dying inside that she doesn’t get to flaunt one of her biggest pride points. This only really becomes a problem when she sees someone watching a swoop race and can’t contain it anymore and becomes the most obnoxious sports fan right in their ear.
3. Sexuality: The girl is a big ol’ gay, zero interest in guys, but flirts with them all the time to get what she wants. She can’t help it if they’re easily manipulated!!
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
is she tho...? i mean.... is she?
jk of course she is:
she stole a whole ass identity and is living a lie she drinks more wine and caffa than she eats food she probably lets her agents get away with more than she should she’s working really hard to get everyone she works for wrapped around her finger doesn’t have any friends outside of work crosses professional boundaries with the work friends she does have her apartment looks like a whirlwind went through it at all times so does her desk someone save her poor coworkers and the janitor

Prompt 01: Questionnaire
(content warning for: suicide mention and uhhh brain washing? kind of? idk how to warn for that, and some mild like.... referenced medical gore idk)
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
“What do you want to be called?”
“I don’t understand the question, sir.”
“Well, I can’t just keep calling you Sixteen.”
“Technically my full designation is PM-16-21A.”
“That’s not a name, you need a name, kid. What do you want to be called?”
The Keeper wasn’t really a man that cared for names, so he never bothered naming his charge either. It wasn’t until Eden reached the cybernetics expert, Sargo Hemmel, that she received a name. It was a long discussion, but ultimately she begged off deciding on a personal name for long enough that he gave up and named her after a dancer he’d known in his youth.
As for surname, Eden had a stronger opinion. It’s really just a pun on the fact that she was partially raised by the Keeper. She thinks she was very well kept. Hemmel tried to convince her to pick a more common name, but she does have her stubborn moments.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Eden didn’t get to see the outside very much while she was on Dromund Kaas. She remembers frequently listening to the rain, but even before she was stolen she was kept carefully away from public view. Now, it’s just a place that’s too dangerous to ever return to. A wistful dream that was never really a reality.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
Even without the extra mental programming, Eden is a pretty naturally friendly person. She got along well with the scientists that watched over her in her first few years, and she absolutely adored the Keeper no matter how hard he could be to read and reach. Even though she was almost an adult by the time she reached him, she always considered Hemmel to be just as much of a parental figure, too. Luckily, she’s allowed to keep in contact with him even if the others are now far out of reach.
Growing up, the message was hammered into her that she should never trust anyone and that the world was a harsh place where you could never relax your guard. It never really took. Somehow, Eden remains a font of optimism almost no matter what happens. Just about everyone that helped raise her is convinced it’s going to get her killed someday (if they don’t think it already has).
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Eden is force sensitive!! Not extremely, but enough that had circumstances been different she probably would have been picked up by either of the large force sensitive organizations. Hilariously, though, despite her own sensitivity to it she’s still not completely convinced it actually exists. She has a hard time with things that she can’t quantify in a way she’s comfortable with, and the implications of the force’s existence and so on make her Very uncomfortable so she tries not to think about it.
For the most part she only really uses it to convince people to help her, or to grab things that are out of reach. She doesn’t do much fighting, and was never really trained, so that’s about the extent of her abilities.
If she was trained more, though, she would definitely lean towards the light side. Not necessarily because of any inherent goodness, but because she’s not near as in touch with her more unpleasant emotions as she would need to be to harness the dark.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
me: bubbly, absent, brittle
eden: tall, pale, blonde
hemmel: never shuts up
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Eden tends towards whatever is going to help her complete her current job. That pretty much always comes first. Outside of that, though, she does very much like dressing up in things that make her feel good, and will often spend paychecks on nicer clothing. Textures tend to be more important to her than looks, but feeling like she looks good is important too.
Since others are rarely welcome on her ship it’s become one big cozy nest though, honestly. She likes to keep trophies and anything, really, that catches her eye. It’s important to her that she gets to do Whatever she wants with her space, after having grown up without a real space to call her own.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
A love for all things luxurious has followed Eden since her first time inside a rich person’s living space. Not that she ever wants to go as wild as so many of them do, but she does have a serious weak spot for the finer things in life. One of the quickest ways to her heart is well crafted gifts, whether they’re food or clothes or something else.
Outside of that, she has a particular fondness for cybernetic modification and loves to be filled with the latest tech. (in more ways than one ;D o god what did i just say)
Also there is her habit of sleeping with... Just..... A Lot of the people she works with. And the people she doesn’t work with. She doesn’t consider any of that a bad habit, though, so I’m not sure it belongs in this section.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Growing up, food was for nourishment exclusively. So, of course, now that she’s on her own she’s abandoned that philosophy completely. Good food, it turns out, is delicious and makes her feel good and Eden is happy to indulge whenever she can. That being said, she doesn’t have all that much experience cooking because she would much rather let others do it for her, BUT she has helped others out a good few times and she loves working in tandem with people in the kitchen.
Also, she’s unlikely to try something new unless someone has specifically recommended it. Getting her to eat something she dislikes is very difficult, and she would much rather avoid doing it to herself.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Eden loves easily and lightly, and her attitudes about romance and sex are basically identical. Both are very fun! She loves people, and she loves affection, and for her sex is not much more serious than dancing (though she’s never pushy about it, either). Commitment is never on the table, though. From the start of any given encounter, it’s very clearly stated that Eden is probably going to be moving on in days or weeks, off to the next planet and the next job.
She does have a few off and on partners that she falls into familiar patterns with when they occupy the same space, but even those fall much more into a friends with benefits area than anything more serious. If asked, Eden will say very dismissively that she’s loved many times, and it’s true that she comes to love and adore people very easily, but she’s never related to the poems and songs about romance. She’s never really missed someone when they were away from her, or had her heart ache for them. Frankly, she thinks it sounds unpleasant.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Don’t hurt Eden !! She hates it and will do anything in her power to avoid it. She’s not even particularly into spanking in the bedroom.
Poor Hemmel has to like fully knock her out every time she comes in for an upgrade, too, cause she’s very.... Reactive. Horrible at staying still.
That said, lying and disobeying direct orders already literally physically hurt her so someone wouldn’t need to torture her much to get information out of her. Although, on the other hand, she’s also physically incapable of sharing certain information. Regardless, in the event of an emergency she has several kill switches set up that she can activate to remove herself as a liability if it becomes clear that she’s not going to escape.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
No weapons!! If Eden is in a fight then she’s already failed, no weapons! She keeps a knife on her but it’s a utility tool not for fighting. The Keeper and Hemmel both tried to teach her to fight so she has Some training in blaster handling and etc, but she mostly refuses to even entertain the idea. If there’s any chance of avoiding a fight she’ll take it, every time.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
When on autopilot she tends towards Very Polite, so between that and her time spent with Hemmel I’m sure she has a number of stock phrases. I just don’t know what they are yet, so I’ll get back to you on that.
Outside of that, though, she does have kind of a particular way of speaking about her. Often, when speaking to someone she'll have an air about her like she’s sharing a very special secret with them, or a joke that no one else gets to be on. A hushed, amused tone comes to her most naturally.
EDIT: i forgot sometimes in the middle of a conversation she’ll get a strong urge to drop in a “For the good of the Empire” but usually she manages to resist...... it’s just muscle memory honestly
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
Eden was raised on horror stories about the Sith-- though he worked with them, in his private moments the Keeper was not very fond. Perhaps because he worked alongside so many. However, out in her daily life Eden hasn’t had the opportunity to meet all that many Sith or Jedi individuals, and so remains largely neutral on the subject.
That being said... You can’t miss the destruction that a Sith leaves behind, and that is something she’s witnessed on any number of occasions. So, between the Sith and their horror, and the Jedi who she views as similar to any other authority figure, if forced to choose she would lean towards the Jedi. At least, as far as she knows, they kill people less.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
If a friend is on the opposite end of a mission, then either Eden is currently working a con with them, or she has royally screwed up. Regardless, it’s not as though she’s going to be any more willing to fight them than she is anyone else.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
Shame doesn’t actually come all that easily to Eden-- she’s not self conscious about many things. However, there were a couple of moments in which she deeply regretted not doing more research ahead of time. Though he taught her many things, there were ways in which the Keeper neglected her education, and Hemmel didn’t necessarily know that she had those gaps.
What I’m saying is she had Absolutely no idea what she was doing the first time she had sex and was very much trying to learn on the fly, which is a terrible idea and resulted in a very embarrassed and giggly end to the evening.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Though she would say that survival and fun are her only goals, Eden is also fervently searching for a way to undo what the Empire did to her head. Cybernetics have proved unhelpful in that area, and it’s difficult to find any experts that don’t have pre-existing Imperial connections. At the moment, her search has stalled and she’s trying very hard not to think about it, but she would do almost anything to de-program herself, barring hurting someone she cared about.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
Honestly, Eden doesn’t much regret the way she was born or the way she was raised, at least not in any way that she would admit to herself. But she does sometimes dream of a universe in which her head and her actions were entirely her own.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
This is an area in which Eden is Highly Conflicted! Honestly, fighting is a very bottom of the list Last Resort for her, and in 99.9% of situations she’s convinced that there are alternatives and that she’ll find them. Usually, she’s right. A good stealth field can solve a lot of problems.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
Well! Her head isn’t entirely her own! But that’s more of an ongoing issue. Right now she’s low key wrestling with the morality of continuing to stay aggressively neutral as the galactic fighting seems to be only getting worse instead of better. This may be something she solves by going Robin Hood sometime in the near future, but that’s still hugely up for debate.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. Programming: As referenced multiple times in the questions above, before she was stolen away the Imperials did manage to fuck around with Eden’s brain a fair amount. It’s mildly experimental tech, but so far largely successful. Unfortunately, they didn’t finish in Eden’s case which actually leaves her in considerably more danger than she would be otherwise. To avoid doing damage (psychological or physical), they were moving slowly with the Watcher kids, implementing broad ideas at first and then refining them once they had really settled in.
Eden never got to the refining stage, so she’s left with broad strokes programming like “no lying, no hurting others, no disobeying a direct order, no sharing government secrets”. Had she managed to keep going for another few years, these things would’ve been refined in scope to things like “no lying to a superior officer, no hurting others unless threatened,” and so on. But, it is what it is.
Violating any of these rules, as it is, leaves her with a blinding headache that is very rarely worth it. Luckily, her Keeper was careful to teach her ways of talking and thinking around some of the programming, as like many things of this nature it can be finicky and there are loopholes to be found.
2. Seams: Eden has very many scars, all of them thin and almost invisible, which she affectionately refers to as her ‘seams’. They’re almost exclusively surgery related, long thin lines down her torso and along her limbs where skin was peeled back to allow for cybernetic enhancements. They’re faint enough that it’s uncommon for anyone to notice them unless they’re in bed together, as her doctor does very subtle work.
3. Enhancements: Speaking of the reasons for the seams, though-- having partially grown up with Hemmel, Eden is fully stocked up on high tech enhancements. There’s very little of her body that remains completely untouched, and she does have a fondness for experimental tech which has led to mild short outs in the past. Every few months she returns to Hemmel for a check up and maybe an upgrade, so her list of capabilities is ever-changing.
Some of the things that she’s had for a very long time and will probably always keep, however, include: False eyes to allow for enhanced vision and a useful HUD, several stealth systems that range from masking body heat and vital signs to cloaking her entirely, enhanced hearing and sensors in her fingertips that allow her to collect very specific information, and a few types of ‘kill switches’ as she calls them that can either knock her out or kill her completely should the situation call for it (none of these are able to be activated by anyone but her and maybe Hemmel). None of her tech is dangerous to anyone but herself.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
i’m not convinced that she is !!
sure she steals a lot but is that really that bad?
maybe she’s accidentally broken a few hearts but that’s not rly her fault is it?
so what if she has just decided she’s friends with a good number of people without asking for their input??
who cares if her ship is a mess and she might not be able to fight to protect the ones she loves!!

SIDEREAL PROMPT / QUESTIONNAIRE
01. Tell us about your character’s name. Was it given to them or chosen? Does it hold any special meaning? If your character has aliases or nicknames, how did they get them and what do they mean?
His name is... really nothing special. Finn doesn't have any aliases (they get in the way of infamy), or at least not any that are serious, but his nickname is Finnán. Which is really just the diminutive of his name that his dad always calls him, and anyone who speaks of or addresses him fondly.
02. What is your character’s relationship to their homeworld? Do they hold fond memories of it, or do they hate it? Are they still here, and if not, do they miss it?
Finn loves Coruscant, and while he doesn't live there in any practical sense, he always returns to it, at least once of every of Coruscant's rotation around its star. He loves his parents, specifically his dad, and being apart from them for too long makes him absolutely miserable. Besides, Coruscant is the capital of culture (in his opinion) in the galaxy, and he loves culture, any culture.
03. Describe your character’s relationship with those who raised them. Was it positive? Negative? Neutral? What sorts of ideologies were they raised with, and do they still stand by them now?
Finn can't imagine his life without his parents. His pa was the one who by and large disciplined him — regardless of the fact that his pa was also the least outspoken of the two — and his dad was the one whom he spent the most time with. His dad was also the one who fostered his lust for knowledge and his passion in anything of an artistic nature. While Finn is fantastic at drawing, he still wouldn't consider himself an artist, merely an appreciative eye, something he has in common with both his parents.
04. What is your character’s relationship with the Force? Is your character Force-sensitive? Whether or not they are, do they believe in it? Do they lean more towards the dark or the light or are they somewhere in between?
Finn is about as Force-insensitive as they come. It doesn't bother him and he doesn't bother (with) it. He does believe in it, though, because he's seen people do some incredible things in his time travelling the galaxy, but he doesn't really think about it for longer than two minutes at a time.
05. What three word would you use to describe your character? What three words would your character use to describe themself? What three words would someone close to them use?
• charming, mischievous, resourceful
• cute, harmless, pretty
• eden: daring, charming, worrying
06. Describe your character’s aesthetic. Do they tend towards fashion or function? Do they like to accessorize? How does this extend into their own personal spaces, such as their home or their workspace?
Finn leans towards practicality. Scruffy, probably a bit oil-stained long-sleeve shirts that are often pushed up to his elbows, scuffed black boots, and equally worn trousers are his bread and butter. His hair is by and large as messy as his entire attire is.
07. What are your character’s vices? Guilty pleasures? Bad habits? Weak spots?
Adventure. Excitement. Knowledge. Finn is, first and foremost, driven by his passions and obsessions, and anything that excites him or nearly kills him (which excites him) is something he'll do. None of these are good for him either.
08. Tell us about your character’s relationship with food. What are their favorites? Do they enjoy cooking? Are they adventurous? Will they eat absolutely anything or are they hard to please?
Food is food. He eats it, but Finn just doesn't have the palette or sensibility to appreciate food on any deeper level than "it makes me not hungry". If he had to choose, though, he'd go for his pa's cooking every time. Any food that brings him a sense of nostalgia will have his priorities.
09. How does your character feel about engaging in relationships—romantic and / or sexual—with others? What is their history like? Do they fall in love easily? Are they constantly in and out of relationships?
Finn has never been in a romantic relationship in his life. That's not to say he actively avoids it, he just doesn't have the self-esteem to consider that people might have romantic feelings for him that don't just revolve around "you're hot i wanna fuck you". That said, Finn is a very sexual being, to the point of self-destruction. Consent is incredibly important to him — that is, someone else's consent. Often enough he sees sex as something he does that makes other people feel better, wanted, loved, whatever. Even if he doesn't feel like it personally, or he's not attracted to the person, he'll mind-over-matter it and just... gets it over with, which is very normal in his eyes. For him, that is.
10. What is your character’s pain tolerance like? Can they hold their own in a fight, despite injury? If someone hurts them with the aim of gaining information, how much can they take before they cave?
Finn can hold his own in a fight, and much of his pain tolerance is tied up in his spitefulness. He'll talk shit for as long as he needs to, no matter how much pain he's in, but that, of course, has its limits. Unless he's protecting people, and then he'll talk shit until he's killed.
11. What is your character’s weapon of choice? Are they more skilled as a melee fighter or do they have more skill with ranged weapons? What’s their fighting style like? What sort of training do they have behind them?
Finn's weapons of choice are two cortosis-weave ultrasonic vibrodaggers and a bow made of lightweight composites. While he tends towards more of a melee range (he's fast, agile, and he fights dirty), if that proves too dangerous and he isn't about being stealthy, he'll take out his bow. His bow's arrows particularly have gravitationally locked sub-atomic antimatter suspended in the head of them, the gravitational lock shutting off upon impact, allowing for the antimatter to connect with the matter of the arrow head... creating a very big explosion that basically cancels out all matter in a small area as though it didn't exist in the first place. Much of his training was being taught by his dad from a young age (as a way to burn both their energy), who was taught by his father. The rest has been honed by years of doing what he does and playing in deadly situations over and over again.
12. Does your character have any words or catchphrases that they say frequently? Tell us about how they picked them up.
There's not really any particular phrases that he tends to, rather than just a way of speaking that is very particularly Finn.
13. Tell us about a negative experience your character has had with either the Jedi or the Sith, and how this has affected their standing. Whether currently aligned or unaligned with either faction, if forced to choose, how would they side?
There was one situation with a Sith that nearly killed him, which resulted in the loss of his left arm, which he had replaced not long after, because he needs his arm, dammit. Regardless, he doesn't hold any grudges or hard feelings. That said, if he really had to choose, he'd probably choose Jedi, simply because of their presence on Coruscant.
14. How would your character react to seeing a relative or friend on the opposing side of a battle or mission?
He'd be very upset, and he'd try very hard to avoid them in battle. In fact, if it came down to him killing them, or them killing him, he'd prefer the latter.
15. Describe a memory that your character finds embarrassing.
Finn is infamously shameless. Try as he might, there isn't a memory that he'd count as particularly embarrassing, although his pa would disagree, and loudly.
16. What goals does your character hold for themself and what steps have they taken towards achieving them? How far are they willing to go to reach them? What is their be-all and end-all?
Finn's goal is to uncover all the secrets of the galaxy, even the secrets people aren't willing to give up, and he'll go to whatever end to reach it. Everything he does is to further this goal, every thought, every breath he takes.
17. What is the one thing your character would change about their life if they were given the chance? What other lives could they have lived as a result?
While Finn is infinitely interested by the idea of different lives, different possibilities, the what ifs, the could bes, the alternatives... he probably wouldn't change a single thing about his life as is.
18. Living in such a high-conflict time, how does your character feel about doing what they must to survive? Will they hurt or kill others—either directly or indirectly—to protect themself and / or those close to them? If so, do they regret it when all is said and done?
Finn has hurt and killed people, for sure, but mostly out of self-defence or defence of others — he's neither a mercenary nor an assassin, regardless of the fact that he has the qualities of both. Finn doesn't regret any life he's taken because the alternative would've been a bigger evil. He sleeps fine at night.
19. What is the biggest problem your character is currently dealing with?
Restraint. Self-destruction. His depression that comes and goes in waves of severity.
20. Give us 3+ headcanons of any length or subject matter.
1. Aside from his left arm that's been replaced, Finn also has cybernetics in his eyes, allowing him to enhance his vision — "zoom in", if you will, and also "mark" biometrics so he can keep track of them through solid objects.
2. Finn doesn't fight nice. He's versed in several different fighting styles and seamlessly mixes them in the heat of combat, along with the fact that he's very gymnastically minded and quick and agile, it makes him a very difficult person to kill. Which is probably good for him, right?
3. Because he's fast and agile, Finn is also pretty lithe. He has muscles enough to climb and vault over objects mid-sprint, as well as the arm strength necessary to draw his bow with remarkable speed, but other than that, he's not bulging muscle.
bonus. Give us a list of any length telling us why our “fave is problematic.”
• fucks shit up all the time
• finger guns
• thinks he's super adorable

American, Southwest Post Record Losses
Southwest Airlines Co. LUV 1.02% lost nearly $3.1 billion last year—its first annual loss since 1972, the year after the Dallas-based carrier began flying. The airline lost $908 million during the fourth quarter.
American Airlines Group Inc. AAL 9.30% reported a record $8.9 billion loss last year, and lost $2.2 billion during the fourth quarter. But losses at both American and Southwest were narrower than analysts expected.
Investors sent American’s shares on a wild ride Thursday. Shares soared by more than 80% before the market opened, but later pulled back and ended the day up 9.3% at $18.10. The company was named Wednesday on Reddit’s popular WallStreetBets forum, where retail investors have encouraged one another to pile into stocks with high levels of short interest, prompting extreme share price increases.
Shares of Southwest, which hasn’t attracted the same attention from short sellers as American, rose about 1% to $44.60.
The pandemic wiped out travel last year, sparking an unparalleled crisis for airlines. Altogether, U.S. carriers lost close to $35 billion in 2020, according to earnings reports this month.

Airlines had braced for a tough winter, but appetite for travel has deteriorated even further in recent weeks. Southwest said January and February bookings stalled amid high levels of Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations. Airport passenger volumes fell to their lowest level since June this week, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
“Once we get past this January/February winter doldrums, we’ll see what happens and we’ll respond accordingly,” Southwest Chief Executive Gary Kelly said during a conference call with analysts and reporters.
January is typically a slow period for airlines, but this winter is proving to be especially bleak. Carriers are also grappling with the impact of rules put in place this week requiring all airline passengers arriving from abroad to test negative for Covid-19. Airlines broadly welcomed the testing requirements and believe such rules will eventually allow borders to reopen, but have said bookings to places like Mexico and the Caribbean, which had been tourism bright spots, have slowed down.
While American said the first few days of testing have gone smoothly, the mandate has deterred travelers: American’s international bookings have halved in the past week, compared with the first two weeks of January before the policy was announced, the airline’s chief revenue officer said.
Now airlines fear that the U.S. will require testing before domestic flights, something that health officials have said they are actively considering. Airline executives said they haven’t been approached about a domestic testing program by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Executives raised alarms that such a requirement would crush demand and create operational headaches.
“I just think it’s wholly impractical,” Mr. Kelly said. Tom Nealon, Southwest’s president, said that if domestic testing isn’t consistent across airlines, airports and regions, the program could be “a real goat rodeo.”
JetBlue Airways Corp. President Joanna Geraghty said U.S. testing capacity likely wouldn’t be able to keep up with the strain. “This puts a ton of pressure on an already-fragile system,” she said. JetBlue on Thursday reported a $381 million loss in the fourth quarter.
The Biden administration said this week that it plans to purchase more vaccine doses, aiming to inoculate most of the U.S. population by the end of summer. Airline executives have different views of what that trajectory means for summer vacations.
American Chief Executive Doug Parker said 2021 would be a year of recovery, but said he doesn’t know when that rebound would begin. The airline expects first quarter revenue to be down as much as 65%.
Airlines received federal funds to cover payroll, which allowed American to bring back thousands of furloughed workers. That money runs out at the end of March, but the airline hasn’t yet seen demand recover as it had hoped for, Mr. Parker said.
“I know everyone is interested in how fast things will rebound. We don’t know the answer to that,” Mr. Parker said during a call with analysts and media.

United executives said last week demand may not start to climb significantly until midway through the year unless vaccine distribution speeds up. Delta Air Lines Inc. Chief Executive Ed Bastian, on the other hand, said this week that he expects the virus to reach a “much more contained state” by spring.
“Over the next 90 days, I am optimistic that we’re going to come out of this lockdown period,” Mr. Bastian said Wednesday at a Bloomberg conference.
Southwest said it would be cautious about bringing more flights back. The airline expects to stop bleeding cash sometime this year, but said it couldn’t predict exactly when.
Reaching that cash break-even level would require operating revenues to double from current levels, the company estimated. In the first quarter, the airline said it expects to lose $17 million a day—more than it lost in the final months of 2020 due to weak demand and rising fuel prices.
Southwest’s adjusted loss of $1.29 a share beat the $1.68-a-share loss that analysts polled by FactSet had expected. Excluding certain items, American lost $3.86 a share compared with the $4.11 a share analysts had anticipated.
