Wanda Maximoff x Reader

It was 9:25 when you received Wanda’s message. It was now 9:40 as you raced to the Avengers compound, still mindful of traffic laws. Due to conflicting schedules of being an Avenger you and your girlfriend rarely had time for each other. What made it more difficult was the fact your relationship was a secret, you both enjoyed the thrill of it.

So when Wanda sent you a message informing you the Avengers had left on a mission, she didn’t have to tell you twice. You decided to park your car hidden behind the complex in case your situation had been compromised. Walking to the front door you scanned the keycard Wanda had stolen from Thor since he was rarely there.

You barely had time to open the door before lips were already on yours, the taste of strawberry chapstick invading your senses. Wanda smirked into the kiss at your evident shock but pressed further before pulling away.

“I missed you.” She whispered, her hand moving to caress your face.

A smile broke out on your face as you quickly pressed another kiss on her lips not being able to resist stealing one. “I missed you too Wands.” You replied, in the same loving tone.

Her nose crinkled bashfully, her hand intertwining with yours and pulling you along further into the halls. You shook your head at her antics but a smile remained on your face. It amazed you how much love you held for the brunette. You had only been dating for roughly 9 months but by then you already knew she was the one for you.

“I was thinking” She started, pushing the door to her room open “We could watch a movie and you know just catch up.” She suggested plainly, even though you could tell she had been planning this for a while.

“By movie you mean those lame sitcoms?” You teased, earning a scoff from the girl.

Her eyes glared at you playfully before turning towards the Tv. You recognized it as one of the newer models, perks of having connections to Tony Stark. Even more, if you’re his charity case you concluded. Although having the fancy high-tech tv with possibly every streaming service to exist Wanda still preferred to collect CDs

“No…I was thinking of Beauty and the Beast.”

Your eyebrow raised, a smirk tugging at your lips “With Emma Watson?”

Wanda huffed “No.”

You laughed at Wanda’s jealousy, as she smacked your shoulder with the CD case. You reached out to grab her by the waist, placing pecks all over her face, butterflies erupting in your stomach from the sound of her giggles.

Placing one last kiss on her head you pulled her closer, Wanda eagerly melted into the embrace having missed small moments like these. “You know I’m yours.” You mumbled, resting your chin on her head.

Wanda nodded, snuggling further into the crook of your neck, her arms encircling your waist.

“I know, I’m yours too.” Wanda sighed, pulling you closer.

As much as you loved the moment, time was limited. Instead, you guided Wanda towards her bed, continuing to cuddle together while watching the movie. Truth be told the movie was the last thing on your mind. Your mind focused on the feeling of having Wanda so close to you and how you wished it could be like this every day. Maybe she felt the same way, maybe not. The thought of potential rejection crushed you.

“I’ve never seen you dance,” Wanda commented randomly.

Immediately your eyes tore away from her to the screen in front of you. The scene played out the dance between Belle and The Beast.

“Well, I’ve never had the chance to.” You added, “Plus Im not the best at it.”

Wanda rolled her eyes, returning her attention back to the movie. “I’ve also never had the chance to, Hydra prohibited anything creative.”

You snorted “Yeah well Hydra is stupid.” Your arm tightened around Wanda’s waist. Wanda leaned her head up to press a small kiss on your lips.

“That they are.” She smiled, and you returned the gesture, giving her a soft kiss.

One of the things Wanda missed about you was your lips. A drug she couldn't get enough of no matter how much you had kissed her. As you deepened the kiss, Wanda hummed pushing back with the same intensity. Her hands snaked towards your collar, while yours remained set on her waist.

Your tongue brushed against Wanda’s bottom lip, causing a small whimper from her. She quickly granted you access, eagerly for your touch. You adjusted your position, ending up on top of her, not once breaking the kiss.

Everything felt hot, and the noises coming from her mouth weren’t helping.

“We should stop.” You broke away breathlessly.

Wanda furrowed her eyebrows, little pants escaping her swollen lips. “What? Why?”

“I don’t think I’m gonna be able to stop.” You husked.

“I don’t want you too detka.” She confessed, tugging at your collar, bringing you in for another kiss.

You pulled back far too quickly for Wanda’s liking “A-Are you sure?”

“Just kiss me Y/n”

With her confirmation you continued, the movie long forgotten. Wanda gasped as you drifted your kisses down her jaw. Her head tilted up on instinct giving you more access.

“Fuck.” Wanda whimpered.

Wanda sighs as you press soft kisses on her neck before biting down. Desperate for friction Wanda moves her hips against your leg, making you shiver.

“Hurry.” Wanda tugs at your shirt. You break away from her neck, taking it off the next second. Wanda scrambles herself to take hers off, struggling a little due to her desperation.

You giggle to yourself at the sight.

“Shut up and help me.”

“Okay okay.” You tease helping her undress.

Wanda huffs throwing the shirt off and bringing your lips back together. The skin on skin contact made your mind spin. Your girlfriend thought the same tugging you closer.

“Bra.” Wanda mumbled between kisses.

“What?”

Wanda grabbed your hand from her waist, leading it to the back.

Oh.

Slowly you unclipped the item, allowing it to fall. Wanda shuddered from under you. You smirked into the kiss, letting your hands move up to her breast, making her moan when you squeezed them.

Lost in the moment you both failed to notice a certain Jet landing nearby, nor the pair of feet walking towards the room that came with it.

“God.” Wanda grunted, throwing her head back. Her hand moved towards your hair, pulling you to where she needed you. You sucked softly, causing the witch to squirm.

“Wanda we’re back from the mission, turns out it wasn’t that big-“ Clint froze his stance, his hand still on the doorknob.

Wanda gasped, quickly pulling up the covers. You toppled next to her, a blush quickly taking over your face. Wanda’s eyes widened, pulling the sheet tightly.

“Clint what the fuck?!”

“What am I-? What the fuck are you doing?! Why is she here?! What the fuck?!” Clint scolded, walking towards you. “You!”

Your eyes widened in fear, shuffling away from Wanda, effectively pushing yourself off the bed.

“Clint stop!” Wanda used her magic to push him away.

You scrambled up from the floor, quickly reaching for your discarded shirt. Putting the shirt on you quickly dodged Clint’s grasp, leaning over Wanda’s bed to place a quick kiss.

“I love you!” You yelled, rushing out the door. Thankfully your phone was still in your pocket.

“Clint what’s going on?” Natasha asked from down the stairs. Her eyes squinted at your retreating figure quickly coming down them. Her lips curled to a smirk.

You locked eyes with the black widow, slowly making your way down. “Sorry, Miss black widow sir.” You mumbled, scotching awkwardly past her.

“No no, by all means come back anytime. Especially if it gets the old guy on edge.” Natasha smirked, crossing her arms.

“Thanks.” You said, your eyes quickly turning to the stairs where Clint was fastly approaching. “Shit okay thanks Miss bye!”

With that you made your way back into your car, unsure if you banged into a tree on the way out or if it was one of Clint’s arrows. Once the coast was clear you pulled over to a stop, your phone ringing in your pockets.

You smiled to yourself at the message, quickly sending one back, before starting your car again.

Wait, they got married?

Thought: What if they had Emma Frost go evil again...but kept the marriage. That just resulted in a lot of jokes about their marriage while battling each other.

Villain: Hey look! The newlyweds are fighting again.

Both: *pause*

Iron Man: Time out to beat him up?

Emma: Always love to spend some quality time with my husband.

They did get married!

Unfortunately it was just a marriage of convenience so they could fight Orchis together, and it was annulled once they both completed their goals because heaven forbid anyone in comics ever gets married or has their status quo shaken up in any way. It's not like this could have been used to explore what both characters want from a relationship, or to create ties between the X-Men and the larger superhero community or anything. That would be silly!

Controversial opinion here but I find it so frustrating that people would rather Emma Frost be alone and pining over someone who clearly doesn't love her the way she deserves to be loved over the idea of her being with someone who truly cares about her and her well-being. Don't get me wrong Scott is my favorite character and I really loved him and Emma together when I first started reading comics, but that bridge has been burned. Right now no matter how anyone feels about it Scott is 100% about his relationship with Jean and Emma deserves something more in her life. Tony actually has real feelings for her and their current story arc has shown considerable growth between them alone and together. They work really well so for all the haters who clearly aren't reading the comics and cling to the past I'm not saying that you can't love your favorite ship but just stop shitting on a potentially wonderful pairing for Emma. She deserves to be more than an afterthought to someone who can't give her what she needs. Tony clearly cares a great deal for her as they've pushed forward beyond their tense past and really they both deserve a bit of happiness.

Ok done. Just tired of people being jerks about saying they want Emma alone, dead, miserable pining for Scott instead of being happy.

Just like a small question based on that one ask, but... might the lack of brown/black men in popular M/M ships have to do with people trying really hard not to be racist so they just... never feature black/brown men? Because I know several F/F ships with brown/black women, but I can't remember a single M/M or even M/F with a black/brown male love interest... well, maybe Link/Gan or Zelda/Gan? But besides that one... nothing rings a notable bell.

There are more than that, anon, even if there aren't a lot.

If we're talking about AO3, Link/Gan has 785 works. Finnpoe has 8,636. Sam/Bucky has 10,591. Do you just not watch live action media?

Part of it is "I don't know. I just don't find them hot for some reason..."-style racism. That can shift with time and exposure but there's no instant fix even if someone is interested in changing their own tastes.

Part of it is being instantly screamed at and held to higher standards. (And yes, no matter how much people want to whine and say this isn't true, it is true, and anyone who goes ahead and writes despite the haters will tell you so.)

Part of it is fear of messing up above and beyond fear of reactions. Personally, I think this is toxic white guilt-flavor time-wasting and it's better to try and fail than not try, but it's a massive factor in what some people choose to write.

A lot of it is simply the composition of the mega-franchises that tend to generate the ships with bajillions of works. If we're looking at AO3 circles, the biggest f/f ships are not that big. If you look at m/m ships of the same size, there are some with some guy who is not white and not a pale-skinned Asian.

I don't see anything particularly significant until we get further down the listings, but there are definitely smaller fandoms like Leverage where everybody loves and ships the black guy.

I mean, yes, clearly, media does have a bias against darker skin, and the darker the skin, the bigger the bias. This bias may be exacerbated by fandom, but in a lot of cases, it just seems to be replicated at about the same level.

That pattern notwithstanding, it seems like you just haven't heard of a lot of ships.

Sorry about to go off on one, gender studies and online fan culture from an academic standpoint is a special interest of mine because being film and literature student wasn't annoying enough (participatory culture studies my beloved)

From a general standpoint, I think the reason M/M ships in fiction have always been more popular is because male characters are historically more developed and complex. I think it’s only in recent years have their been an influx of popular F/F ships, with the added development of women on screen (e.g Clarke and Lexa, Kara and Lena, Regina and Emma, Nancy and Robin) - I think there is also a point to be made this has coincided with gender expression, genderqueerness and more general knowledge of being outside the typical gender spectrum.

I can’t explicitly say that being in M/M fandom spaces encouraged my personal discovery of being transmasc but it certainly helped to have an avenue where I could project onto these “male” characters and see myself in them. I was so uncomfortable in my own body and what I didn’t know at the time as dysphoria, I can see why I didn’t go for F/F ships.

There are of course a lot of “fandom elders” but young (early to late teens) afab people do make up a large bulk of it and I get why it may be easier for them to fixate on M/M ships as a, sort of method of exploring their own sexuality and gender expression. F/F ships may hit too close to home and F/M ships are what they are trying to escape from so it leaves M/M ships to project onto. Which, unfortunately then can become warped by the persons own comphet and/or binary ideas about gender.

A male character may have more stereotypically “feminine” traits (in terms of interests or emotional reactions) and I can see why people who also have those traits would project there own insecurities onto them, reinforcing the feminisation of the male character but not being comfortable enough in your own gender expression to genderbend the character or write them as trans.

It’s the same reason I think mafia romance, dark romance etc etc is so popular with cishet women because they can read about a fantasy where instead of the very real every day misogyny and violence they face leading to abuse, assault and death, it brings “positives” ; protected, loved, a happy relationship.

Which, side note. I think this has A Lot to do with y/n, self insert fics becoming “cringe”. Because, I think a lot of people just want to fuck/date a character and feel like they can’t write a self insert anymore, so just project massively onto one character, leading to a lot of these issues. I don’t think Tony Stark/Peter Parker would be as popular as it is if people just let young women write their self insert fic about being Tony Stark’s sugar baby and then we wouldn’t have the wildly mischaracterised version of Peter Parker that we do!

But, all this being said. I’m talking about fiction. Dean Winchester isn’t actually affected if people online only talk about him in a stereotypically “female” way.

RPF is a different kettle of fish (and I’m not going in RPF ethics that’s different - I have no issues with rpf creators/consumers to be clear, I am one) because a real person does become affected. Even if you are keeping your fan works and discussions to private spaces, it can leach over into how you speak about the actual person. That’s where it becomes so incredibly important to remember that your RPF version of celebrities are just as fictional as Dean Winchester is.

I love to hear your perspective on it with a trans worldview (and academic credentials), and I do agree that that might be a big driver of some young people only wanting to engage with MLM fic and feeling uncomfortable with WLW fic. You've brought up so many great points so I'll try and address them all.

I can add the perspective of a lesbian who was closeted for the first two decades of my life, came out less than five years ago, and still struggles on and off with comphet now. MLM fics in my teens were a way to consume queer content and relationships without having to think about the implications of enjoying consuming WLW content, and I think that's true for a lot of young closeted teens so it's no surprise that some comphet/hetnorm/cisnorm stuff bleeds through there because it's a framework the authors haven't managed to detach themselves from yet.

But yeah, I agree the issue lies with people wanting characters to be self-inserts partially so that they can experience sex, sexuality, and romance without any of the hang ups of thinking about patriarchy. And I agree with your solution: make y/n fics cool again! The ability we have to hallucinate while we read is magic! You can put YOURSELF in as a character's love interest, how cool is that?

Ultimately, yeah. There's nothing wrong with RPF as long as it isn't actually affecting the person that the RPF is based off, but I've seen a lot of takes escaping containment so to say (ie. leaving this website) with takes about the actual racers so obviously picked up through RPF. The main culprits are Charles, Lando, Max in my experience.

It’s two years of wanting him the way he hasn’t wanted Emma since their honeymoon to the pearl of the Pacific, eighteen months of Steve slipping into his hotel suite on business trips away from the prying eyes of New York, and twelve months of staying late after the cleaning staff clock out because Steve will ride him behind his desk with the door unlocked.

my thoughts: i’m a sucker for infidelity fics, and this one is just--very soft and tony’s love of steve and conflict with Emma, and the way that he focuses on Steve’s emotions over Emma’s was everything to me.

my thoughts: this is more focused on winterhawk than stevetony but what I LOVED about the stevetony background ship is how it looks at Steve as human, and the weight of juggling Bucky’s recovery and his ongoing relationship with Tony. Everyone of them--Steve, Tony, Bucky and Clint--are flawed and this fic doesn’t flinch away from that, but rather examines it in a real real and lovely way. The scene where Steve is sobbing in Tony’s lap is heartbreaking and beautiful.

On the day Peggy moved out, Steve stood naked in front of the mirror and looked at all the ragged lines running over his body. He felt like someone had taken a knife to him, slicing every inch open, and he didn’t understand how there wasn’t any blood. He traced one particularly thick scar on his stomach, gritting his teeth against the pain, the memory of the first time he’d brought Peggy over to meet his family and all the teasing that had accompanied it burning through his mind. He couldn’t imagine her marks ever disappearing, and in that moment, he didn’t want them to, didn’t want to ever expose himself to that much hurt again. Once in a lifetime was enough.

my thoughts: oh this was so lovely. The idea of heartbreak causing physical scars was gorgeously executed.

I agree 100% on Duggan’s run re: the character writing and history for Tony were 10/10 but I’d have liked more of it to not be so tied to the Fall of X.

It’s why I’m excited for Duggan’s West Coast Avengers, and I wonder if Duggan felt the same, he wanted to write more Tony but he had done his arc and current Marvel seems pretty set on 2 years per writer unless there’s like an historic run going or a planned end (like Immortal Hulk or Kelly Thompson’s Captain Marvel) so he got Tony for WCA to keep his arc going but separated from the main book. And he separated Tony and Rhodey for Plot Reasons in his run so it will good to see them together as a duo in this book!

Plus Duggan set up Firestar and Tony as sources/confidants to each other in the X-books, and Firestar’s kind outcast status with the mutants, so I’m very interested in how that will play out. And if Duggan pairs her withe Tony as his Red Headed Love Interest and/or Assistant…well it makes more sense then Patsy&MJ lol. and Angelica has quite the history with Emma so that's ANOTHER point of intrigue lol especially since Duggan himself had Emma and Angelica bring it up recently, so Tony and Emma’s recent marriage might be a fun plot point.

(Add in the recent Hellcat&Iron Man mini series and Tony has had recent history with 3/4 of the…defunct Marvel Divas team (remember that? Oh 2009). Tho he’s had some dealings with Monica as well? But not personal 1-on-1 time idt? But how funny is it that they tried to make a “Birds of Prey” counterpart and they got 2 redheads and 2 Cat themed heroes on the team of 4 heroes should have gone all the way and done all Cats or all Red Heads lol.)

And it seems WCA is going to have more than one “seeking redemption/a fresh start” members, never mind the complex histories of Jessica Drew and Tony and Angelica, what with Ultron and Blue Bolt joining? So Tony having a team of characters like that I’m interested in.

(I think too, Duggan was criticized during his Xmen runs for focusing more on his fav characters rather then the full team so we’ll see how this goes, but cross our finger with at hopefully Tony is a focus in any case!)

Let’s hope the run is successful enough that eventually we see a blond love interest of Tony’s make at least an appearance! Steve OR Emma haha. Or even better, Steve joins once his Avengers mini is done. I liked his Steve a lot in Marvel 1872, and his writing of Tony along with their relationship is what gave us hope for Duggan’s run so more of that please! And I did like Tony and Emma’s romance, much more respectful to both characters then *ahem* other recent Hero/Tony pairings.

(Honestly I have no idea what Marvel is thinking with some of these Themed character lineups. I like to imagine them getting pitched the IM & Hellcat Annual and the Iron Cat mini at the same time and just being like "Cat??? Cat. Ok. Yes. All the cats.")

I think the WCA lineup looks good -- and, honestly, I am a fan of writers focusing on their faves. I'd rather have them get to write their faves than be forced to write a character they don't want, so I hope Duggan likes everyone on the team and I'm excited to see more of Tony and Rhodey's story -- plus, he left a lot of little plot hooks dangling in his IM run that he could pick back up on.

I haven't read a whole lot of her, but I really liked what Duggan was doing with Firestar in his X books because I have had a ridiculous amount of fondness for her since Busiek's Avengers run and it'll be nice to see her actually on a team with Tony again.

More Emma/Tony would always be good -- honestly, Tony with exes he's still on speaking terms with is so novel that whatever happens it's gonna be interesting. (I mean, there's Tony/Jan, but they haven't interacted recently, except in Twilight, which was not 616. And I think Cantwell made Patsy go insane in the recent Hellcat series? Anyway, I don't think she's coming back anytime soon.)

I would obviously also always be up for Steve and Tony on the same team, and I think Duggan wrote Steve well both in 1872 and in the recent Uncanny Avengers mini. I feel like Marvel could totally give us a new Captain America & Iron Man miniseries, also. I don't know if it was meant to signify anything, but the trade of the Cap & IM mini has a 1 on the spine, which is not the case for other one-shot minis I have in trade. It could also just mean that Marvel is bad at graphic design, but I'm still hoping.

As Tony's once close friend and brief roommate, Steve turned Tony's world around in all the right ways until fate intervened and they were pulled in separate directions. Now fresh out of rehab on his 45th birthday and looking to keep from making the same mistakes, Tony reflects on his past and follows his heart to new beginnings hoping that it's not too late to find his way back to Steve in his hopes for a second chance. -I love that this Tony is closer to his canon age. It's a look at the pop star life from the other side once you're not the shiniest, brightest thing on the block anymore. The smut is great, the romance is lovely, and the ending is delightful ❤️

Baby, Just Say Yes by betheflame (M) In a world where Tony's life looks a lot like Taylor Swift's, Steve realizes there always more to omegas than meets the eye. -Everything flame writes is always amazing, even the things I never in a million years thought I would like, but this is just so lovely. It's soft and sweet, and I love the take on second gender dynamics that flame explores 💛

at his side by areiton (M) He meets Steve on a Sunday, wearing his old Eagles jersey and shorts so short his Mama fusses at him, and he grins, tousled curls and a devil may care grin, bare-faced and bare foot. “Hi,” he says, and then, like an introduction is necessary, like the whole world isn’t learning his name, he adds, “I’m Tony.” -I love bodyguard AUs so much, and arei absolutely delivers with this one. Top-notch pining, great use of the non-linear narrative (which arei is always fantastic at, in my opinion), and I love how the eras were changed to fit this story 💙

Loosely inspired by Taylor Swift. -I feel weird hyping up my own fics, but if you're willing to follow me as I explore multiple relationships, second gender dynamics, and reinterpret the fandom's hatred for Tony after Civil War through the lens of the Reputation era, I feel like you'd really like this series. Like I said, I'm almost done writing the Fearless era, so that'll be coming in the next few weeks 💚

False God (E) The first time Steve meets him, Gillian has all sixteen dancers sitting in a circle on the floor of the rehearsal studio, where she makes them go around the room and introduce themselves. Tony is the youngest of them at nineteen, has two cats currently in his sister’s custody, and got his start in ballet before being so inspired by the 1989 tour that he cross trained just in the hopes that one day he could dance with Sharon. Steve had made a note of it in the way that he makes a note of everyone he works with, felt a little old because he had been a dancer on the 1989 tour and now this baby is saying he was inspired by them, and then gotten distracted by the next girl. -In which neither of them is the pop star! They're backup dancers for pop star Sharon instead, which I think is very fun of me 🩷

When Emma Falls in Love (G) “Nice?” Kamala exclaims. “It’s way past nice! It’s the cutest thing ever because his bracelet had his phone number on it! He was hoping to ask you out!” Tony blinks. Steve Rogers, All-American good boy and quarterback extraordinaire, wants to throw his hat in the ring? He wouldn’t be the first person to toss his name out there, but most of them have just tried to DM him or tag him in their posts. No one’s shown the kind of thought and effort that Steve apparently put into his declaration. It’s a level of understanding and appreciation of who Tony is and everything he’s cultivated in his career that no one else has put in. It is, to use Kamala’s word, cute. -In your life, you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team... or maybe not? Anyway, this is just a very fluffy romance with instantly smitten Steve and Tony 💜

Glitch (T) “Ms. Potts, my name is Steve Rogers, and I’m Justin Hammer’s roommate," Steve says. “Oh, what does that asshole want now?” she asks. “I don’t think he wants anything—except to make a quick buck and ruin Mr. Stark’s reputation.” -This is a pop star AU in the loosest definition of the word. Tony is a pop star but he doesn't get to do anything pop starry things in this AU. It's mostly about Steve, but if you like throwing popcorn at the screen whenever Justin Hammer shows up, people getting their comeuppance, and Steve being the standup guy he is, then this is the fic for you 🖤

Death by a Thousand Cuts (T) “Tony?” Pepper asks, and he can tell just by the look on her face that whatever she has to tell him, it isn’t good. “What?” he asks. She looks uncharacteristically hesitant. Pepper isn’t supposed to be hesitant. She’s supposed to be barge-in, guns-blazing, unapologetically confident. “The news leaked,” she says eventually. -One of my favorite tropes, breaking up and making up! Idk I just really like writing stories where neither of them did anything wrong, they just couldn't work things out in those circumstances, but turns out being apart is even worse 🩶

Kissed by a Muse (E) Two years ago, Bucky returned home from the war, disillusioned, injured, and angry. Two months ago, he started working at Rogers Records, recording other bands when all he wants is for his band to be the one performing. Two minutes ago, he ran into a mysterious stranger at the grocery store who argued with him over the last box of Eggos, kissed him, and ran off with the waffles. And now he can't stop thinking about him. Bucky sees him everywhere: on the album cover he's recording, walking by his sound booth. And then, as he's staying late at work one night, he hears someone singing down the hall. But that can't be right - because that's his song, one that he's never performed for anyone. He isn't really surprised though to find that it's the stranger who kissed him in the grocery store that night. Only someone who can seemingly appear and disappear like this stranger can could possibly be singing a song he's never sung for anyone. The stranger offers him a chance: a chance to get his life back on track, to perform for the owner of the biggest record company in the world, a chance to get his band back and make it big. With an offer like that, how could Bucky refuse? -If you're familiar with the 1980s film Xanadu with Olivia Newton John, Gene Kelly, and that guy from The Warriors, this is that but with Bucky and Tony being, well, Bucky and Tony 🤎
