i imagine that you would try some different types of water with him, by his request, and tried your dam best to find a difference.

but he would also get you any kind of drink, dessert or food you´d like

all in all its pretty easy bonding with him, and he just likes being beside you and spending time with you

he would take you to a quiet cafe where you could sit in peace, since he doesn´t like loud places and want you two to be alone for the most part

he would pay 100% he doesn't even give you a chance to try and pay for anything (he´s nice when he wants to be)

he definitely brought a book with him to read(+ one for you) and would either let you talk while he reads a "little", or he would just read out loud so you know what kind of books he likes

he´s not good at doing any kind of romantic things, but he did try and do something

that including:

taking you out on the date later in the evening so he later could show you the stars, and point out some constellations

asking your friends (and maybe family) what you like food-wise, so he knows what kind of place he should have in mind when picking the place of your date

I went to the UDGxRaincode collab in Tokyo (twice!) I thought I'd share some pictures here.

This super cute sign was outside! Good thing too, the restaurant was a little hard to find. (The only reason I, the ultimate v3 fan, am not going to the v3 event is because I won't be in Japan anymore when it starts). My favourite thing about going to these events is seeing the people who dress up or bring their themed itabags and plushies, and there were quite a few folks doing that here!

The first day I got Komaru+Yuma fries and red meat set, it's hard to see but the bowl had a deep grey-blue cheese sauce which was pretty cool. On the right is the Servant!Komaeda+Hellsmile shortcake, and the drink was Yakou iced coffee. Genuinely really really good!!

I went back again because I messed up buying merch the first time. You could only buy merch when you ordered food, and the waiter would bring it to you as if it was food. It was actually really funny, watching them bring out just tons of packages on a platter for the people around me who were ordering like at LEAST 40 buttons at the same time. I think they were trying to guarantee their favourites and were going to resell the rest, probably at elevated prices...

My limited Japanese did not help me realize this... Aw well, I wasn't too upset to get to go again!

The second time I got the Monaca+Zilch icecream daifuku and matcha swiss roll cake. It was small but really good! The drink was a Nagisa themed "Caramel blue hawaii" which, I dont really know what that means? It was slightly carbonated, and I don't think I could describe the flavour. Despite not really liking carbonated drinks it was pretty good!

The front of the restaurant had a display for all the merch, so I took some pictures to share:

A "Placemat" (poster) and coasters! The placemat came with the meal, the coaster proportional to how much merch you bought.

Standees and buttons! The holographic buttons are rare and random, mixed in with the rest.

The stickerset was the only piece of merch not blindboxed! It comes with one of all of them. And lastly the acrylic cards.

These are the ones I managed to get! I feel super, super lucky, because Yakou is my favourite Raincode character, Jataro is my favourite Warrior of Hope, and Monaca is just really cool. Literally the only thing I would've wanted differently would've been to swap one of my Yakous for a Servant!Komaeda, but because there's one in the sticker set, I'm still super happy with how my luck ended up!!

You lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, replaying the story of how you ended up here over and over again in your head.

Eva had found you when you were a blushing, stuttering mess trying to speak to the waitress in a restaurant.

Were you blushing out of embarrassment? Yeah.

Anxiety? Yeah.

Because she was hot? Absolutely.

Eva smiled at you when you looked up from your head in your hands and made eye contact with her while she was sitting at a table facing you.

You groaned and shoved your face back into your hands because yet another hot woman had seen you embarrass yourself.

When you looked back up you jumped a little, seeing as Eva was now right in front of you.

The two of you had food together, Eva noticing your stuttering, rambling and fidgeting with your rings. The tell-tale signs of your anxiety.

You told her about how you managed to push everyone in your family away after your parents died, you were an only child so there weren't many people to push away, but still.

You lived by yourself in a tiny apartment, you were thinking about getting a cat, but then, Eva invited you back here with promises to help with your anxiety.

But here you were, in the bed, Eva had lent to you.

You felt like a lost cause, all the other girls in the group had shown major signs of progress over the course of a few weeks, but you were still here, holed up in your room because you could barely even talk to the girls, despite the fact it had been almost a month already and you have had numerous sessions with Eva.

You heard a knock on the door and you mustered a small "Come in."

You looked up and saw Eva walking through the door, causing your heart to race.

Come on y/n, don't embarrass yourself in front of her for the 10,000th time, please.

"Hey y/n, why aren't you out there with the rest of the girls, we're playing twister right now."

Don't stutter.

"Oh- uh, I don't know, I'm don't-

She looked at you for a moment before walking closer to your bed and sitting down on the corner of it, by your thighs.

"Remember what I told you during our last session y/n?" Eva started, as she leaned over you, bracing herself up with one hand on the other side of your thighs, and using the other to check your temperature.

Your brain short-circuited as soon as you felt her skin against yours.

"I told you, the reason you stutter is that you either rehearse what you are going to say over and over in your head before saying it, or you think so fast that the words mess up when you try to say them out loud. Either way, you need to focus on what you want to say rather than thinking of all the ways you could say what you want to say."

"Yeah, I know..." Uou muttered.

"Well how can you be working on it when you don't even hang out with the rest of the girls?" Eva smiled patiently.

"I'm working on it, I just..." You trailed off, looking anywhere but Eva's eyes.

"Hey, eyes," Eva said, causing your eyes to immediately shoot to hers.

"Good girl. Now, why don't you come out of your room and join us." Eva got up from the bed and held her hand out for you to take it.

Your stomach turned at the Praise but you ignored it.

You took Eva's hand and picked yourself out of bed.

Eva didn't let go of your hand as she led you out to the living room. You willed your hand not to get sweaty.

"Hey guys, look who's here!" Eva announced to the group.

"Come, join us!" Isis urged, smiling at you from under Salem's arm.

You looked at Eva uncertainty, but she just gave you a patient smile and nodded, urging you to join them.

Your heart started to beat rapidly.

The girls keep playing as normal, each taking their sweet time moving to their respective places while the others urge them to hurry up. You're trying to focus, to stay present, to participate...but all you can think of is the loud beating of your heart. How the girls' laughter fades and your consciousness seems to trade places with your subconscious; "They're only letting you play out of pity." "You need to leave before you embarrass yourself." "You look ridiculous standing like this and they know it, they're all thinking it." You vaguely hear directions for someone's turn being called but there's a water-like roaring in your ears and your palms are sweaty and-and-and-

Everyone's falling. A twisted mess of loud laughing bodies and you can't breathe.

You shoot up from the pile of girls and suddenly the laughter has died and they're all looking at you with concerned expressions.

They think you're pathetic.

You're so embarrassing.

"I can't do this anymore!" You suddenly shout through your heavy breathing.

"Woah, it's okay y/n-" Cricket starts, putting the twister spinner down.

"No, it's not! Look at all of you! You're getting better every day. But me? I'm hopeless. I can't even play a game of twister without fucking it up! I can't stay here any longer. I've overstayed my welcome and I can't be helped. I'm too broken." You said before turning away from them.

You heard the girls start to protest and get up but out of the corner of your eye you saw Eva shush them and make them sit back down. Tears started spilling from your eyes and you ran to your room.

When you got to your room, you took your suitcase out of your closet and opened it on your bed.

You started to pack when you heard Eva's hurried footsteps approach your door.

"Y/n, what are you doing?" She said sadly.

"I'm leaving. I can't stay here anymore" you were unable to look at her so you continued quickly packing.

"Hey. Stop." Eva said as she gently stopped you from going over to your suitcase with the clothes in your hand.

You stopped and looked down at the floor, still unable to look at her.

"Look at me. I wanna see those gorgeous eyes." She gently grabbed your chin and turned your face to look at her.

"Here, give me those," she took the clothes from your hands and put them on the other bed that was next to yours.

"Sit." She guided you to sit down next to where she left your clothes.

You sat down and took a shuddering breath in as tears continued to fall and your lip quivered as you silently cried.

"You're even gorgeous when you cry." Eva smiled, causing you to let out a choked laugh as you tried to halt your tears.

"You're just saying that" You felt your face heating up.

"No, I'm not. don't degrade yourself like that. You are truly beautiful, and I'll keep saying it till it gets through your pretty little head." She got on her knees in front of you and put her hands on your thighs.

You looked down at her hands on your thighs, hyper-aware of her touch.

"Y/n please don't leave." Eva spoke up somberly.

You looked back to her eyes before responding.

"I- I can't Eva. My thoughts are so confused a-and I can't be helped. I don't deserve to stay here." You sniffed as your tears subsided.

"That's not true! Everyone is able to be helped, some people just have a longer process than others. Also, even with all the facts considered, you're here because I want you to be, not because you're a patient or something." Eva explained.

"Yeah, I guess...but I'm still...c-confused." You internally cursed yourself for stuttering and you looked down back to her hands that were still on your thighs.

"About what?" She smiled softly.

You sighed heavily trying not to stutter.

But of course, you did.

"Y-" You sighed in annoyance as Eva looked at you expectantly.

"Y- You!" You managed to get out, causing Eva to let out a laugh.

"You're confused about me?" She asked with a smirk.

"Yes! Why is that funny!?" You huffed.

She laughed a little again before responding.

"It's not, it's not, Why are you confused about me?" She asked you curiously.

"Well, I- I don't know. Just...my feelings towards you..." You said more quietly.

Eva's hands rode a little higher on your thighs causing your eyes to widen for a second before you steeled your expression.

"And what are you currently feeling towards me?" Eva asked, staring down at your lips.

"Attraction" You breathed out, getting lost in the way she looked at your lips.

"And, that's a bad thing?" She smirked, her eyes looking back up to yours.

"I- I mean no! But like, you're my mentor or whatever. I shouldn't be feeling attracted to you. Right?" You backtracked.

"Who said that?" She laughed.

Wait, that's true...

"Uhhh, no one I guess. It just- I don't know I thought it might be wrong or something. You never dated anyone else here." You gestured to the door.

"Who says I didn't?" Eva smirked once again.

"O-Oh! I'm sorry I didn't mean to assume!" Your eyes widened.

"It's okay, don't worry about it." Eva smiled.

"S-so, who was it?" You said quietly after nodding.

"Isis, it wasn't very long though. We both decided we were better as friends" Eva shrugged.

"Oh, I see." You said, mulling over all the interaction you've seen Eva had with Isis.

"But back to your feelings?" Eva urged you to continue with her brows raised and a questioning tone.

"I guess, over my time here I've been slowly falling for you and...I've tried to suppress it, but I guess, the feelings have always been there, bubbling up,"

You sighed once again before continuing.

"I mean, I don't know... You're just so...." You started, before looking at Eva and feeling your face heat up.

"Go onnnn." Eva urged.

"Hot." You ended quietly.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you!" Eva said loudly.

"Oh shut u-"

Before you could finish your reflexive response, or even have time to be anxious about it, Eva pushed up off her knees and kissed you.

You were shocked at first but you quickly closed your eyes and melted into her lips.

You couldn't lie and say you hadn't thought of kissing her multiple times.

Once Eva pulled away she sat back onto her knees.

"I can't lie, I've thought about kissing you so many times." She let out a breathy laugh.

"Woah did you just read my mind?" You pulled back shocked.

Summary: (MANGA SPOILERS SO IF YOU DONT WANT THOSE DON'T CONTINUE)

After Draken is shot and dies of his injuries, Takashi is in a deep depression, locking himself in his room, and the reader, being a close friend, goes to see that he was actually doing something in his room, and comes to help him during this hard time...

Warnings:  Manga spoilers, slight eating disorder? (Mitsuya hadn't eaten because he was sad :'( figured I'd make that a warning, but this ends happily I promise)

Word Count: 1k 

"Hey, Mitsuya?" I called out softly, knocking on his door softly.

He's been working on his design for the fashion show ever since Draken died. He hasn't left his room according to his siblings Luna and Mana.

Worried wasn't even a good enough word to describe how I felt about him right now. I dropped past his house to check on him, Luna and Mana explained that he had come out of his room for a change, and they were worried because he hasn't eaten anything in a few days.

Before coming back to his room, I went and grabbed him some of his favorite food from his favorite restaurant. Hoping he'd answer the door.

The door creaked softly, his back already turned, but allowing me as he returned to his seat on his bed.

"All done, huh?" I tried to smile, looking to see that he had his work covered up.

"Yeah," He mumbled, not even looking at me.

This was worse than I thought. He was always so lively with me, now it was like he was dead inside.

"Luna and Mana told me you haven't left your room and you haven't been eating," I said softly, shutting the door and coming over with the food I brought him, "So, I went and got your favorite."

"Thanks," Not moving a muscle, this was so hard to watch, but I still set up his food and drink for him on a small fold table he had.

"Cheers?" Holding up my drink, I was hoping I could get him to at least pick something up.

Instead, he stared at me through his bangs before looking down to the floor. I was running out of ideas and so, I sat next to him, hugging him tight whether he wanted a hug or not.

"Just let it out, Takashi," I whispered, fighting tears of my own, "I know you're hurting more than anyone right now. I'm here for you."

Clinging to my jacket, the veins in his hand were popping out from gripping so tight, sniffling before completely breaking down with his face buried in my chest. Hugging him as tightly as I could, I started crying too when he muffled out through tears and a cracking voice:

"I-I; I just can't believe he's g-gone."

"I know," I swallowed, rubbing his back and trying to keep myself together and help him, "But he still lives in here."

Holding my hand over his chest, hoping my words explained themselves, relieved when he nodded and hugged me again, settling down and taking deep breaths, closing his eyes as I cleaned his face with a soft napkin.

"Thank you," He whispered, sitting up and wiping at his eyes while I leaned to him, kissing his temple:

"I always have your back, Takashi. Always."

That made him smile some and it lifted some weight off my shoulders, growing lighter when he pulled the table closer, looking at his food:

"My favorite, hm?"

"Down to the very spices," I smiled at him, relieved as he took a bite, needing it literally for his health, and his soul, showing how much he enjoyed every bite with little expressions on his face.

I only brought myself a snack, but ate alongside him, eyes following his hand as they got his drink:

"I apologize for earlier. Cheers?"

"Oh, you're fine," I assured, taking mine and clanking our glasses softly, "Cheers."

Smiling and taking a sip, we finished up and I decided to clean up while he took a shower and checked on his sisters. Being extra careful, I made sure to put back all his tools away in their labeled spot, as neat as ever, and had his room clean.

All that was left was his final project which was on covered mannequins. I was curious to see, but also wanted to respect the fact that this was Takashi's masterpiece pretty much.

Just staring and zoning out, I jumped at the sound of the door creaking, seeing Takashi coming back in, noticing that I was wanting to see his latest pieces.

"Soon, Y/N. You'll get it see it soon," He winked at me, making me giggle and nod:

"I can't wait. I know you're going to win that whole show."

"Maybe," He hummed, sitting on the floor next to his bed with his brush in hand.

"No maybe's," I rebutted, sitting on the bed above him, stealing his brush and softly brushing through his ends, then through his hair in sections, "You better win or I'm fighting the judges."

Shaking his head and laughing at my comment, he was serious when he explained, "I don't really care if I win or not. I just want to honor him and his memory, our memories. That's all."

Knowing he meant Draken, that made me even more excited. He spent all that time locked in his room, working on a piece to honor him. It made me smile, running a hand through his hair and massaging his scalp, smiling at the dragon tattoo he and Draken had:

"He's gonna be watching, I'm sure, and he'll love it."

Hugging his head and kissing it again, I just wanted to keep all the bad emotions away from him, falling to silence when he tilted his head back to look at me.

His purple eyes glimmered from the light above us, just staring deeply into each other's eyes for a moment, till he tilt his head back a little further, lips perking to find mine.

All my breath left me, lips so soft, but making our kiss so deep, feeling all the appreciation from him, and something else, finding out what it was whenever he parted lips to whisper to me:

"I love you, Y/N."

Staying silent and still, he had to pick up his head and turn to me, arms latching him into a hug when he faced me, on his knees and hugging back with a sway, adding:

"I just wanted you to know that."

"I love you too, Takashi," I squeezed, picking my head up to give another kiss, "You have no idea."

MONDAY 11th MAY

Luke Alvez had been working at the BAU for a few months now, and he couldn't help but notice his colleague, Spencer Reid. He had always found him intriguing, with his vast knowledge and quirky personality. But he never had the courage to ask him out on a date. Until one day, he found himself standing nervously in front of Emily Prentiss' office.

'Hey, Emily,' Luke said, trying to sound casual but failing miserably.

Emily looked up from her paperwork and raised an eyebrow at Luke's nervous demeanour. 'What's up, Luke? You look like you've seen a ghost.'

Luke took a deep breath and blurted out, 'Do you think Spencer would go on a date with me if I asked him?'

Emily's eyes widened in surprise, and then a smile slowly spread across her face. 'Finally! One of you admit it.'

Luke's face turned red with embarrassment. 'Wait, you knew?'

Emily chuckled. 'Of course, I did. It's not hard to see the way you two look at each other.'

Luke couldn't believe it. He had been trying so hard to hide his feelings for Spencer, and here Emily had seen right through him. 'So, what do you think? Would he say yes?'

Emily leaned back in her chair and thought for a moment. 'I think he would be thrilled. He's been crushing on you for a while now.'

Luke's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe that the man he had been secretly admiring felt the same way about him. 'Thank you, Emily. I'll ask him out today.'

As Luke walked out of Emily's office, he couldn't stop smiling. He couldn't wait to see Spencer's reaction when he asked him out on a date.

It was lunch and Spencer was out to get his usual coffee and Luke went with and as he and Spencer stood in line Luke snakes his hand onto Spencer's shoulder and taps it gently. “Hey..erm spencer… would you like to go on a date with me.. You don't have to, it's just”.

Luke could kick himself at how stupid he sounded as spencer broke the silence 

“I…i would love to go on a date with you luke” spencers voice was smooth like honey and the radiant blush crawls onto Luke’s cheeks.

“..really? You’d want to go on a date with me?” He looks at Spencer, a smile plastered on his face. 

THURSDAY 14th MAY

Luke chose a cosy Italian restaurant, known for its delicious food and romantic atmosphere for their first date. As they walked in, Luke couldn't help but feel nervous. He had been on a date with a man before but he never felt so anxious about it, and he didn't want to mess things up with Spencer.

Spencer, on the other hand, was excited but also a bit anxious. He had always been attracted to Luke, but he was afraid of getting hurt. He had been hurt before and didn't want to risk his heart again.

As they sat down at their table, the atmosphere was a little awkward. They both fidgeted with their napkins and avoided eye contact. But as they started talking, the awkwardness slowly faded away. They talked about work, their interests, and Luke's family since Spencer wasn't so talkative about him for obvious reasons. They even shared a few laughs.

As they enjoyed their delicious meal, they couldn't help but steal glances at each other. There was a strong chemistry between them, and they both felt it. They were both surprised by how easy it was to talk to each other and how comfortable they felt in each other's presence.

As the night went on, they both opened up more and more. They talked about their fears, their dreams, and their past relationships. They realised that they had a lot in common and that they understood each other in a way that no one else did.

As they finished their dessert, Luke took Spencer's hand and looked into his eyes. “Would you be up to coming back to mine for a movie?”

Spencer raises his eyebrow a smiles “yes. Yes I would”

I told them “look sorry I can’t stay till closing because I haven’t been able to buy groceries and my only chance is when I get out today (@9pm)” And these idiots look at me & with all sincerity & go “don’t you think you could just order in food instead just this once for us and then do your groceries when ur off tomorrow? :))) “

Bro no. I actually can’t & I fucking won’t because number one I’m vegetarian and no vegetarian restaurants are open past 8pm. The point of doing groceries was to save money on eating out in the first place. Did you notice I requested tomorrow off? That’s because I have a very important wedding to attend to so I can’t spend tomorrow DOING GROCERIES AND COOKING FOOD. And if I don’t leave at 9pm I DONT GET MY GROCERIES AND I STARVE FOR THE NIGHT. It wouldn’t have to play out this way if y’all had given me Sunday off to do my food planning like I’ve been saying for only about 5 months now.

These jobs really cannot fathom that an employee would have a life & a schedule or a list of things to do when they aren’t in work. They literally cannot fathom how making me do 3 hours longer than I was supposed to is going to literally FUCK UP THE REST OF MY WEEK.

work ramble because i’m convinced my managers do not like me… </3

firstly, i posted a ramble once about that one GROWN MALE COWORKER screaming at me in front of guests because i asked if he was okay… ( he was genuinely screaming so loud uh !! ) “ FUCK OFF I DONT WANT TO FUCKING TALK TO YOU GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME ” yeah !! as you know after that happened i obviously went back up to my host desk and stood there stunned… my manager found me and i ended up crying because ?? obviously as a young girl im gonna get scared when theres a grown man screaming at me for reasons unknown ?? especially someone who has trauma from men yelling ??

anyways so i ended up crying and my manager had to force out WHY i was crying because me being me, i didn’t want to get the coworker who screamed at me in trouble ( he in fact did not get in trouble, he got promoted the next day to be a server ! )

anywhosies… yeah !! so a week or so ago, my manager came up to me to sign a form ( everyone who works there had to legally sign it ) and it was about coworkers and stuff, and she explained it to me as “ basically its a form stating that a person could face termination if they do that ” and i was like ??… and she said “ basically its what — did to you” and she started laughing about it… and she was like “ im glad you realize you were dramatic” and made fun of me for crying… haha… well !!

thats just one instance but the main reason im rambling is because they cut my hours.

there’s another hostee who works there, who might i add, is newer than me. she’s a wonderful hostess !! however, she still gets scared to seat people and double seat servers, and every time i work with her, i have to help her, again not that i mind.

come to find out, all of my hours got cut, and they put her to work 6 days a week, AND promoted her to being a to go server.

i have been asking to be a to go server since i started working there, doing everything in my power to be as good as i can be and doing more than i even need to.

after i found out about this, i went up to one of my managers ( who are all women btw, they always talk like we’re besties with everyone ) and asked her “ *nickname* you should let me do togo’s 🙂‍↕️” and she genuinely looked at me and said

“ no. give me a good reason why you should. ”

the reason this makes me upset is because, and do not take this as me trying to be conceited, but i do everyones job for them. i do more than im supposed to do and i quite literally do more than quite a few of other hostesses do because its a damn workplace !! of course im going to !!

for example, i know which servers are strong, which arent, how much to seat them, when to seat them, i know every single section, every table number by heart. the girl who got promoted will seat a server one table and say “ i dont wanna seat them again i feel bad !!” when thats her job… so i have to end up doing it. every time she’s there a server comes up to me and complains “ wheres my tables ??” and im like !!!!! GOOD QUESTION !!!! PLEASE DO NOT BLAME IT ON ME !!!!!

i also, EVERY TIME, help the to go people out. they always ask me for help and i always jump at the opportunity, walking back and forth all the way across the restaurant for them while i have an entire lobby full of people. servers will have me run food and drinks even though im not even qualified to, and yet i still do it because i understand. i assign reservations that always work out, im always asking people when i can seat them, if they can take this party that came in, if they need time. running around doing all of this that by the time im done im drenched in sweat and yet im STILL doing all of my sidework on top of that. doing servers favors without them even having to ask me. always on time. always covering peoples shifts. helping bussers, setting tables, finding them around the restaurant knowing exactly what i need. hosting is all about calculation and its fast paced, you have to be on top of it constantly.

and the thing im best with is making sure my entire lobby is absolutely spotless. every time i get there, theres a dirty rag thats supposed to be white, and menus that haven’t been wiped, crumbs everywhere. by the time i leave, theres a new rag, every single menu, countertop, window, lobby area, and tablet is wiped. everything is set up perfectly for the person the next day. the trash is taken out, bathroom is restocked, meanwhile none of my coworkers even bother. they turn the tvs off and call it a night, but i choose ti be respectful and leave it clean for the next person in the morning.

and while doing all of this, im still treated like it doesnt matter. never getting promoted, managers dont acknowledge a thing and if they do its to critique me and say im wrong when i know im not and it wasnt my mistake. the favoritism is absolutely HORRIBLE. especially towards the male coworkers, absolutely insane.

all of this, but im SO kind to everyone. im incredibly easy going and always being nice toward my managers, always because people deserve respect. but i dont receive it back and im undermined.

so now all of my hours are gone and given to those who i am still needing to help, which i find unfair. why call me in on my day off to help a hostess but yet promote them before me ?? its a bit unmotivating and makes me feel like im still not doing enough.

anyways yeah thats my work ramble PLEASE tell me if this is normal or if it looks like they genuinely dont like me ??

need to talk all of you about this amazing movie i watched after watching a couple of duds (sometimes we have to watch duds to find gold)--

and you think 'oh its another hallmark movie'--no. as u can see it's 'reel one entertainment'. dont confuse them. (its like the same thing)

anyway--'the marry me pact', starring Rejected Property Brother #19203 (i assume they have more of them in canada) and Brunette American Carey Mulligan--brings the drama in this 'my best friends wedding' rip off.

opens with rory (rejected property brother) on his 29th birthday reminding 'charlotte' of the pact they made at 21--(bc some girl dumped him) that if he wasn't married by 30 he could marry his best friend charlotte (american carey mulligan). and rory wants to cash in bc this is his face when charlotte says 'yeah but u weren't serious right?'

he was charlotte. he was.

so then she buys him a plane ticket out of miami to like, south america or something. as a present.

then its a year later.

charlotte visits a psychic for research purposes (she's a writer). the psychic tells her 'hey girl there's a man in ur life and also a pact to marry him'. she got all that fm tarot cards. but at no point does she actually do any book research. its over. now the idea of getting a man is in her head.

and boy does it. bc then at the end of the day shes like 'what if rory is the love of my life???' uh u didnt even want him a year ago....

psychic tells her one thing and she's all in.

then rory calls her and is like 'im back in miami' and says 'i have some things i need to tell you'

so they're at dinner (it's pizza at her sister's restaurant. bc a man wrote this so they just eat pizza its their favorite food blah blah blah) and he's like 'yeah i want to settle down. i started to envision that for myself', she's like---

thinking he's gonna say its her. out of nowhere.

but then rory says 'i met rachel!'

charlotte:

then rory's like 'oh yeah we're engaged. and getting married in 3 weeks. and also can u be my best man? and on top of that, can u help me plan my wedding, bc im absolutely useless'.

charlotte: uhh

rory: you're gonna love her. she's a nerd like you. she loves food, like you. she loves the green witch fm that musical, like you. in fact, why dont you meet her right now?

yes, why dont we.

this is charlotte and rachel hugging:

and this all three of them having wine in his kitchen--

that's right. rory went to south america and found the first american brunette that looked like charlotte and called it a day.

this man is sick.

then charlotte's like 'damn it looks like u couldnt get rory to have better taste in art' and rory's like 'uhh that's one of rachel's paintings' and then rachel spills wine on charlotte. but it was an accident.

im not kidding that really happens and i laughed.

moving on to another hilarious moment--charlotte's finally checking her fan mail that's been sitting in her organized office for 6 months--and what does she see? a postcard rory wrote her from chile declaring his love for her and he says in it 'you dont have to reply and nothing will change between us if you dont feel the same way'

charlotte reading this like--

and what does she do after this? nothing. she just mopes. like a loser.

then later, somehow in a big city like miami, they all run into each other---

the woman in blue is charlotte's pizza sister, she has a boring ass romantic subplot of her own but it doesn't matter.

the script makes it a point to tell us that rory and charlotte love bookstores bc they 'make them feel safe' while rachel the fiancée complains that she likes hitchcock movies but rory falls asleep during them.

rachel is such a loser for liking 'psycho' meanwhile im pretty sure rory's lying about knowing how to read.

anyway he has the audacity to complain that charlotte hasn't been helping him plan his wedding to another woman, literally in front of her (rachel). bc apparently charlotte's been blowing him off. gee, i wonder why.

then he tricks her into going to find a tux and then he tricks her into trying out a wedding dress with the excuse of 'i just want to make sure i look good standing next to rachel in her dress'

we dont even know what rachel's wearing. but sure.

anyway, this little freak got what he wanted.

then charlotte's like 'can u get my shoe off, its stuck in the dress' idk how that even happens but whatever--

then that little freak got what she wanted. ect ect.

of course we get a scene of his brother saying 'hey we always thought you would marry rory lol' and then charlotte leaves immediately.

then we meet the psychic again who says she got a vision of a woman in a wedding dress leaving a wedding. and we think 'oh is she gonna run out on rory?' but the psychic says, what i think is a great line, 'my child, i dont get visions of the future. i get visions of the past'

charlotte and anyone watching this: what?

psychic: i dont make the rules.

this is the worst psychic in miami. she'll give you the lottery's numbers but it'll be the winning numbers fm like, a year ago.

so then its like 10 days before the wedding and we're doing cake testing with rory, rachel and his best friend charlotte.

rachel when charlotte shows up:

rachel (in private), is like ' wtf is she doing here??'

rory: shes helping us out.

rachel: i thought this was something we could decide together??

rory: i could tell her to go...she does find this all tedious..

rachel: no..i dont want to make things uncomfortable

rory: i think u should be happy someone like her is helping me tho bc im so stupid :\

rachel: yeah ur right :\

personally i think rory is getting away with too much.

so theyre tasting cakes but rory and rachel dont agree and ask charlotte and of course charlotte like's rory's choice, which leads to another hilarious moment--

rachel: well what do you know about wedding cake?

charlotte: i know you never ate your first one

and then rachel almost chokes on her own spit.

fast forward--rory's like 'what was that about?' and charlotte's like 'uh nothing'.

rory: do you mind cutting rachel some slack? its important to me that you two get along.

charlotte: i promise.

so now rory has two women apologizing to him for fuck ups he initiated.

let me remind you that a man wrote this.

then charlotte has to apologize to rachel and takes her to a Hitchcock retrospective. rachel's tells us about her failed engagement that happened 'years ago'. but then charlotte stalks down the ex fiancé and finds out rachel left him a year ago. not 'years ago'.

and if you think that's gonna come up later or be resolved--you're wrong.

then charlotte had to help rory find the location of his wedding and we find out that he hasnt written his vows.

rory: u know im terrible at writing. you'll help me right?

like,,,is there anything rory's good at? i dont think so.

now im fastforwarding filler scenes to get to the bachelor weekend--

the boys and charlotte go on some partnered up seeing sight hike and rory's sprains his ankle in his attempt at trying to win...something.

later that night, charlotte and rory have a talk.

rory: im sorry about the hike. i rushed into it--

charlotte: like you do everything--

rory: what does that mean??

charlotte: you rush into everything--today, the south america trip, this wedding--

rory: you supported me doing that trip--u basically bullied me into doing it--

(she did no such thing)

rory: u dont like rachel. that's the problem.

charlotte: that is not true. i dont think u should be declaring that you're gonna spend the rest of your life with someone u dont even know.

rory: why are you telling me this now? my wedding is next week.

charlotte: exactly! i dont want you making some huge mistake! maybe you need more time to decide if this is something you really want--

rory: i do want this

charlotte: does she?

rory: what are you talking about?

and then charlotte spills about rachel's runaway bride incident and shes like 'does that sound like someone who knows what she wants??'rory's like 'you went behind my back'. which is not true imo.

rory: i would have thought you had more faith in me, as my best friend.

charlotte: your best friend? you barely contacted me while you were away.

rory: i contacted you. i wrote to you. i told you i had feelings for you. that i had feelings for you for years. you ignored it.

charlotte: i never got the post card. not until recently.

rory:

charlotte: it's too late now anyway

rory, grasping at straws: i mean...do u feel the same??

charlotte: it doesnt matter now does it?

rory, still grasping at straws: doesn't it??

and then charlotte says what i think is the best line in this whole movie---

charlotte: no because you left the fate of our relationship to the postal service!

(i just want to say that it is no way the post office's fault. that fan mail bag was in her office long before that. so the USPS delivered. she just just never bothered to read her fanmail. USPS is a great service and we should continue to support it. thank you. )

rory, seeing that he's not gonna his shot with charlotte: so why are you bringing this up to me now? we had all of our 20's for you to tell me how you felt. now im engaged and im happy and you want to dredge all this up---

( he's the one who brought up the postcard!!! he also could have said something in his 20's!!!! )

Charlotte: all of this has been really hard for me

rory: so what do u want me to do? not get married? have you and i try and figure out whats going on?

(that's literally what he wants. he's still hanging on for hope)

charlotte: I can't tell you what to do.

rory: you know what? this is so selfish of you. i cant believe that you chose this moment to do this.

charlotte's face rn:

girl ur being gaslight !! get out!!!

rory: i would have expected a lot more fm my best friend. i think u should leave and i think its best you dont come to the wedding.

he's literally the worst. he didn't get his declaration of love and he's like 'okay get out. ur uninvited to the wedding i made you help me plan'

anyway shes back to moping when really she should have booked a flight out of miami to get away fm him.

she gets flowers and she thinks its fm him--

WRONG! its her agent telling her to get her ass up and get to work!!

and she's really happy about it. she's like 'i love work. work is never gonna uninvite me to its wedding or gaslight me or make me plan a wedding'.

then rory and rachel have a pizza dinner night before their wedding and they realize they dont dont know anything about each other and when rachel tells him to ask her anything, he has nothing to ask her.

yeah because he doesnt care about you rachel. ur were a charlotte replacement. wake up.

also this card is fm target. i know bc i have this same stack in my drawer.

its the wedding day and rachel's missing (the escalade broke down) and rory's panicking but he makes his brother call her. this man is useless. he has everyone else doing thing for him. can someone kill him?

so charlotte sees rachel running through the park and she's like 'i'll help u get to wedding on this scooter and i promise it wont look gay'

that promise was broken.

so rory and rachel make it down the aisle and they almost do get married until rory has his flashback thinking about charlotte and then at the same time rory and rachel stop the wedding. but instead of rory being a man and being the one to say 'i cant marry you bc i love someone else' --rachel is the one to stop it and take the blame. she runs out and gets charlotte.

rory tries to apologize for being a dick but charlotte doenst let him and then takes more blame.

you think theyre gonna get married but luckily that doesnt happen.

rory: you know i think you'd make a better wife than best woman

(so he's still trying to trap her)

charlotte: for now why dont we get a slice and watch some figure skating?

rory: i like that.

yeah, those are things HE likes to do. we dont really know what SHE likes to do.

and then they kiss--

i know i said at the beginning that this was an amazing movie and if you've read this far, you're like 'this wasn't amazing'.

i said it was amazing, i didnt say it was good. it was just incredibly messy and i think rory should die.

3\5 stars for being incredibly messy.
