Not all strong, smart dog breeds make the cut as police dogs—and here’s why! 🐶

Shiba Inu 🐕: These independent spirits are notorious for their stubbornness. If they disagree with a command, they’ll look at you like, “Nah, not today!” Refusing orders? Definitely not police material.

Siberian Husky & Alaskan Malamute ❄️: These playful Arctic troublemakers are more into fun than following rules. Imagine them on duty—always waiting for their next play break instead of chasing suspects!

Golden Retriever 🐾: Super friendly and trusting, Goldens believe everyone’s a friend. If they caught a robber, they’d probably wag their tail and invite them to play instead of arresting them!

Tibetan Mastiff 🐻: Strong-willed and powerful, these dogs can be too much to handle. On the attack, they’d take down the bad guys and anyone else who gets in their way!

Border Collie 🧠: Known for their intelligence, these clever canines prefer doing things their way. They’d likely tell their handler, “You’ve got a gun—why don’t you handle it?” Born leaders, not followers!

These lovable, goofy, and independent breeds are awesome companions, but maybe not ideal for police duty! 🚓💙

Honestly I think a big thing in American dog culture right now is that a lot of dog owners seem to expect all dogs to be retrievers, regardless of breed, while a lot of professional dog trainers seem to expect all dogs to be herders.

This time I did more pencil b&w ones than colored bc the references I pulled were really very dark fur or very white fur so I wasn't that motivated to grab color pencils since doing it with graphite it's faster for me.
