Reptiles are generally primitive creatures that likely don't experience emotions like we do. But both snakes that I've had quickly learned that I was "safe"/not going to hurt them and would scoot back to me in unfamilar situations. I think that's its own form of love. Being a safe place.

We lost our beloved cat Goblin today. We think it was some sort of rare kidney cancer and she just deteriorated so fast. We got her five years ago on January 2nd and shes been a constant companion throughout that time. She hates the fancy food and loves watching construction outside her window. A dumpster cat we plucked from the trash, she was always there to cuddle you or smack you in the face when you cried. She traveled more than a thousand miles to start our new life in Toronto but she's unable to see it through. She will live on through us. I know I never talked about her, but she was the best cat anyone ever knew. And now, even if you never met her, she will live on through you too. I hope you get to love her as much as I did
