I miss long seasons.

I miss seasons that had 20 episodes and half of them could be cut and nothing would be lost to the story.

I miss the episodes where nothing fucking happens but you get to see the main cast goofing around with one another. You get to see their interactions, their relationships develop, their day-to-day lives and how they all fit together in them.

You get the Christmas/halloween/valentine's special -is it needed? certainly not. but is it good? is it entertaining? does it give the show and characters life? do we, the viewers, enjoy it? YES!

give me long stories!! give me little quarrelling spats between characters that can be resolved in one episode with no need to have an impact on the greater story! make these stories real!

let me enjoy them before they end!!!

I absolutely love Hazbin Hotel and the little world that's been created, but I can't help but feel disappointed we're only getting two seasons of 8 episodes.

back in the early 2000's 16 episodes would have been ONE season, never mind the entire thing.

show my angel dust and husk and nifty and sir penthouse living their daily lives in the hotel! show me Charlie brainstorming ways to redeem sinners! give me Charlie forcing the hotel staff to do cringe-y exercises! give me an entire episode of Vox trying to follow alastor through security cameras! Give me husks typical day! Give me a special through the eyes of nifty on a mission to irradiate the hotel of bugs! Give me sir penthouse and the egg boys up to no good!

give me something other than the bare necessities to make the story flow

You glared as you watched the news that day. With a deep sigh turning into a low grumble, you stood from your seat on your velvet couch and smoothed out your silk dress, smoothing your feathered hair before taking your diamond crown and placing onto your head. Your daughter, Azelia, gave you a confused glance after feeling your weight leave its spot on the couch.

“You okay, mom?” She asked, raising a brow as you snapped and teleported your cloak on your back. You smiled at her before walking up to her.

“Of course, sweetheart.” You kissed her forehead. “I just need to take care of something. Will you be alright on your own?”

She smiled at you, “of course I will, mom. It’s not like I’m a child.”

“Yes, yes! Oh how much you’ve grown.” You joked and she rolled her eyes. You waved her goodbye with a smile before teleporting in front of the new and improved hotel. With a terrifying glare, you took it in, noting the radio tower on the top right of the hotel. With a knock and a squint at the blaring lights above you, you softened your gaze and held a royal look to yourself, fixing your posture. The door opened, revealing a small, blonde girl that you knew as Charlie Morningstar, Lucifer’s daughter. You smiled at her as her eyes widened.

“Princess Y/n!” She gasped.

“WHAT!?” You heard chorus behind her before a group of other small demons appeared in the doorway. You looked among them, not seeing who you were looking for in the crowd.

“Please, Charlie, call me Y/n. We have history!” You chuckled with a soft smile. She couldn’t help but smile back. You looked back to the demons, all the ones you saw on the television. “So, who are your friends?”

“Oh!” She gasped. “Come in, these are my friends, they help at the hotel!”

“Oh? How wonderful! I saw your conundrum on the television and couldn’t get here sooner with Azelia, I’m terribly sorry dear.” You frown at her with a hand on your chest as you stepped in, ignoring the other demon’s gaping faces. Charlie only waved you off.

“Don’t worry! I completely understand. Anyways, this is Angel, Husk, Nifty, Cherry, and my girlfriend Vaggie.” She introduced them sweetly, but looked around like one was missing. You narrowed your eyes at her for a moment before softening them at Vaggie and taking her hand in your own to shake, her eyes still wide.

“Oh, it’s wonderful to meet the partner of Charlie!” You smiled at her before taking your hand back. “To meet all of you really. I’ve been a good friend of the Morningstars for a long time. But I can’t help but notice… one of you is missing?”

The group seemed to snap out of their trance for a moment to look around, except for the smallest one of the bunch, who had a huge smile on her one-eyed face.

“So… CLEAN!!” She squealed and ran up to your cloak, taking it in her tiny hands and admiring it. A white sinner with two pairs of arms seemed to get nervous and beckoned her back.

“Nifty, get back here! Quit causin’ trouble!” Angel muttered, and you laughed, much to his surprise.

“Oh that’s quite alright, dear. Let her enjoy the velvet and ermine.” You smiled sweetly at him, and he shut up. Your glowing red eyes glared as a black shadow crept up behind the group and revealed a red deer demon rising from it grimly. He had his signature smile and leaned on his radio staff. It was ill how put together he made himself out to be. He laughed, not seeming to notice your presence yet.

“Why, you all seem pipper! What could ever be th-” He cut himself off, eyes finally landing on your looming figure. His eyes widened and smile croaked as his hair that formed ears gloomed down slightly. Your piercing gazed narrowed at him as you thought, got you.

You smiled at him. “Ah, Alastor. I was searching for you.” You growled, tilting your head at him. He froze, forgetting anyone else was there. Charlie rose a brow at you.

“You know each other?” She asked awkwardly, feeling the tension in between you two thicken.

“That we do.” You grumbled before straightening your posture again. “Excuse me, sweetheart, but I have a private conversation I’ve been meaning to tend with the Radio Demon.”

Charlie seemed unsure, but you had to deal with this little nuisance for now. “Alastor, come.”

And to everyone’s immediate surprise and confusion, as you walked past him and towards the elevator without giving anyone else another glance, he followed. He was still in shock, eyes searching the ground as he dragged his feet behind you. The only thing the others could think was that this was not Alastor.

As the elevator door closed, the room got darker and tinted red, and Alastor refused to look into your eyes.

“You were supposed to keep her safe,” you growled, but kept your posture up as well as your gaze. “Yet you let her go and piss off the angels, causing them to deliberately corner their attack onto her HOME!”

The elevator shook and Alastor’s wide gaze shook, his unending smile hiding his terror. He squeezed his eyes shut, knowing full well this elevator ride wouldn’t end until you were done with him.

“Do you honestly think I wouldn’t find out that you disobeyed my one order given to you? When Charlie was in danger, you decided a small cut was enough and retreated!” You growled, slowly loosing your temper as your white feathers grew hints of black at the tips. You finally looked at him, blood boiling at the fact he didn’t dare look at you. You rose your hand and created a thick, obsidian chain in your palm that wrapped around your hand and connected to Alastor’s neck like a collar. You swiftly swung it to loop around your hand one more time and grasp it right where it connects to the collar. Forcing Alastor to look at you, you glared at his horrified eyes and closed smile. “And don't think I didn’t hear your little melody at your tower. There are no back doors, Alastor. I own you. You are mine. And when you blatantly disrespect me when I specifically give you an instruction, I expect you to own it. Not cower away like a baby bunny.”

He swallowed as you narrowed your eyes and leaned in closer to his face. With a demonic hint to your voice, you hissed, “You’ll get away when you die.”

He trembled, his ears now flattened against his head. You scoffed and removed the chain, backing up and staring at the door again. He could only stare, frozen in fear. “You know as a fact that Lilith has given me this duty to keep her daughter safe, and what do you think would have happened if Lucifer hadn’t been there to save her instead?”

When he didn’t respond right away, you snapped your gaze to him out of the corner of your eye. “Answer me, Alastor.”

“Sh-she would be dead,” he muttered. You searched his eyes for a moment. Maybe you’d tortured him enough for today.

“If you would like to keep this powerful reputation you have here, which is rather impressive I must say,” you sighed, reaching behind his head without a glance and straightening his ears up with a gentle, angelic touch. “then I would fix yourself up, deer.”

He searched your own eyes before gathering himself and going back to his normal suit. You gave him your gaze for a moment before closing your eyes and listening to the elevator door ring.

As the doors opened, Charlie was the first one to be up and at the elevator from the couch. She looked worried, but as she saw you both completely fine, she turned confused. You both walked out of the elevator with a blanket of pride, and Charlie didn’t buy it.

“Wait, Y/n,” She pulled you aside and away from Alastor. “What did you need him for? How do you know him?”

You only smiled at her. “You’ll learn someday, darling. It is not my story to tell.”

She seemed unsure, but when you wrapped your arm and close around her reassuringly, she smiled with you.

“Well, I’d better take my leave. It was lovely to meet you all! Especially you, tiny one.” You giggled as Nifty’s eyes sparkled at you. You strutted to the door leading away, only glancing back to look into Alastor’s eyes. He looked nonchalant, but his mind was racing as he watched you leave. Why didn’t you intervene with the fight when he had fallen? Why didn’t you yell at him more? What he did was a big deal. Why were you so gentle just then?

Are things going to… change? For the better?
