i just played day 3 and i hope you know the moment i saw mychael i started kicking, spinning around in my chair, and punching my pillow all at once!!!! i loved seeing this new side to mychael, and I'm so excited to how this will go!!!! mushroom oasis feels like a studio ghibli yandere visual novel (i hope that sounded like a compliment because it's supposed to be 😭) I'm not sure if this has been answered yet - but what would mychaels favourite studio ghibli movie be? I would absolutely love to watch those movies with him :)

In 2013, Alex Hirsch and the Gravity Falls crew took a 4 day long roadtrip across the Pacific Northwest. Called Mystery Tour, it became known for a series of 9 drawings of Bill Cipher left by Alex that fans could go out and find. I made a video about it in 2021, but little did I know just how much more story was left to tell. So, in this 2nd and FINAL chapter in the story of what is technically the FIRST Gravity Falls ARG, I'll share new photos we have found from the trip, Bill Cipher drawing fates, NEW NEVER BEFORE HEARD AUDIO and with the help of the Interview with Alex Hirsch, I helped 6 fans get the prizes they were long overdue!

Do you think a patronus and an animagus need to be, or are likely to be, the same animal for a person?

Likely, yes; necessary, no. We know that patronuses can take forms it's not possible to become as an animagus, because Tonks's patronus becomes a werewolf after falling in love with Lupin. (I guess we don't rightly know you can't choose a werewolf as your animagus form, but the idea feels janky, like it's not reeeeeally what the magic system was conceived to do.)

My general philosophy of Patronuses gets explored a lot in an upcoming chapter, but the TLDR is I think they're a token of something that makes you happy. Harry's is a stag because his connection to his father brings him joy; Tonks, a representation of Remus; Snape, a representation of Lily; etc. That's also why patronuses can change when you seek joy/meaning from new places. Nowhere in the books do we see the kind of "spirit animal" reading that crops up in personality quizzes about it. Yeah, sometimes the animals happen to fit their characters, but why do McGonagall and Umbridge — two very different characters — have the same patronus? Wouldn't it make more sense if they were just two dames who like cats?

In contrast, your animagus form is said (extracanonically, so Doesn't Count, if you ask me, but whatever) to be involuntary and based on your personality. (This is part of the reason I don't think you can use animagus abilities to become a werewolf, because what would that even mean about the person doing it?) The animagus is supposed to function as a "spirit animal" type of thing, because it's technically still you.

So if your patronus and animagus form happened to match, I'd read it as a good indication that the things bringing you joy are closely related to things you like about yourself. It would be an indication of strong self-esteem and satisfaction. James Potter being one such character, and someone who's established in canon to think pretty highly of himself. Minerva McGonagall is a god damn delight and she knows it. Interestingly, Lupin's patronus is a wolf, but not a werewolf, which could mean any number of things — for one, the word "Lupin" being a cognate for wolf in Latin means that his patronus could reference his family or parents, or just his own identity as a person outside of his lycanthropy.

A morel, by golly!

I've found morels - the king of mushrooms - in various places in Michigan, but never in the neck of woods where I now live.

When we first arrived in the township, I figured morels had to be here. We lived among some pretty powerful influencers - a few ancient apple trees, dead elms ash trees, low spots in our woodlot where the ground stays soggy all spring ...

But search as I might, I never found a single morel. In fact, I never heard of a neighbor finding one, either. I know - morel hunters are notoriously tight-lipped, but I'm pretty sure they were being honest.

On Monday morning, a neighbor texted me a photo and an inquiry: "Can you ID?''

It sure looked like a morel. I walked over and took a closer look. As you can see from the photo I took, it definitely was a morel - and a beauty, at that. Naturally I did a thorough search of the immediate vicinity, but found no others.

The neighbor offered me the prize; I accepted. It went quite well with our chicken and mashed potatoes.

Today I'll take a walk in the woods.

“I would love to say that you aren’t to blame at all and that it’ll get better, but I’d be lying, wouldn’t I?”

Story summary 🏃🏾‍♀️:

When a native Piltovan council family member turns 22 they are tasked to join select members of the council for a hunt.

A hunt for Undercity people.

Caitlyn is forced to join in on the disgusting initiation, but attempts to stop it in its tracks.

Vi was able to get back to Powder after the explosion, but the damage was already done.

Things were starting to get better until the Pilties got involved again, swiping them right off their feet and making them part of some hunt.

They’re immediately put up against each other. So drastically different but somehow so similar. They fight, they learn, they grow, but most importantly, they heal.

A PSA and plea to all scripthunt raffle winners:

after two solid days of us trying to logic out this problem, we're at the end of our rope.

We have 58 prizes for 58 winners. We asked for people's top 15 choices, and very quickly realized we should've asked for much longer prize lists. Since most winners of course wanted prizes from the 17 scripts in section 1.

WE KNOW! Of course that's what everyone WANTS! But we have 58 winners, and no matter how we've rearranged the math, we have not been able to actually invent infinite chocolate with those 17 prizes.

No matter how much we'd love to give everyone one of those top 17 prizes, we just can't.

Of course, like all other scripthunt scripts, every single one of these scripts will be posted for everyone to read and enjoy. Nobody will miss out on them!

But we have other lovely prizes! We hope some of you will come forward and let us know you'd be just as happy to have one of those, as well.

(and know that we still love all of you, and wish we had magical powers to give everyone who donated to our campaign their perfect top favorite prize ever... but the best we can do is hope for understanding from a small handful of you, with the knowledge that you will be able to read all the scripts in a few short weeks!)

Happy Halloween sweet chloe 🖤 this year the nana-harem is throwing a Halloween party! Each one of the residents is in charge of decorating a room with a different theme. Some honorable mentions are Sachiro & his room full of vet-med textbooks & failed essays & tests because that’s his personal hell. Sugishita tried to transform the kitchen to resemble a witch’s cabin with weird looking (but super yummy) snacks & drinks. Choso chose to turn our living room into the forest from Corpse Bride 🌚
