Another adorable abomination: Here is my idea of what a Pokémon trainer Ralsei would look like:

I based Ralsei on the "Friendly Rival" Type. My main inspiration for his design here was Wally (and Ralts).

While friendly Rivals also can have a full Team. Here I took more inspiration from the XY friendgroup, and only gave Ralsei 4-5 Pokémon.

Since Ralsei is a friendly Rival, he gets the weaker starter Pokémon. Kris already got Dewott, so Ralsei gets Servine. The Snivy Line has a royalty theme, plus with Servine being a grass type, you also have sort of a connection to Flowers. Furthermore, since Ralsei also has "Devine" attacks, it rather fits name wise, and choosing the middle stage is representative of the gang being in their teens. I had a special thought for Ralsei having a starter though. The starter your rival picks is dependant on your choice, so initially Ralsei just picked Snivy because the protagonist chose Tepic. Ralsei did this to please the programm so to say (something he tends to do), while Kris might've had no choice, but at least they now have the upper hand over them.

Next is the goat Skiddo. The reason for Skiddo is relatively simple and obvious, but Skiddos are also the first pokémon that lived together with humans, which would fit the darkner theme. They can sense it's trainer's emotions (in the anime at least) and are also seemingly willing to help out others if we extrapolate a bit. Also the pokémon that represents Ralsei in a more literal sense being a pokémon whose main use was being a vehicle is pretty fitting for Ralsei's "I have to be useful and serve others" complex

A pokémon I really want Ralsei to have is Eevee, because of it's evolution potential. Not only are Eevees fluffy boys 87,5% of the time, but Ralsei himself currently has to figure out who he is and who he wants to be, which is a great parallel to Eevee. I imagine his Eevee would be shiny, because of Ralsei being a darkner and having white fur.

Another pokémon I think Ralsei would have with a simple reason is Milcery, which famously evolves into a cake that changes it's design and flavour depending on how you decorate and turn your Milcary, which agin symbolizes Ralsei's journey of self discovery, and his love for cake.

Lastly, though Ralts was a very tempting option, I think Ralsei would have a Hattena or Hattrem (not completely sure).

Both Ralts and Hattena have the ability to sense emotions, the key difference though is that Hattena has a little pointy witch hat.

No, the key difference is that while Ralts gets less shy when confronted with positive emotions, Hattena and Hattrem can't stand strong emotions, and preferr their surroundings to be calm. While Ralsei isn't allergic to other's emotions, he has trouble actually handleing them, as shown in the post Spamton Neo fight, or in how he handled the roaring. He doesn't know what to do about them, and his main strategy seems to be: "positivity=good, negativity=bad, so better stay positive and don't pay attention to the bad stuff", which isn't really helpful, and you could even argue that for a Kris that needs a different kind of comfort right now instead of just getting a "how about you just think about something else" is a pretty bad Hattrem-style slap in the face. (btw, I love Ralsei and I think his flaws make him a super interesting character, this isn't a front against him)

Other than that, I imagine Ralsei would want to have a Blissey someday, but I feel like he wouldn't have one yet, and I sadly couldn't really think of the right fire type for him, but maybe next gen, we'll finally get the fire fairy goat I always wanted.

Kris has a crush on Susie and I can prove it

First of all, my goal is to demonstrate that Suselle ISN'T the only ship that's being built up, but Krusie aswell. (That doesn't mean that Suselle doesn't have any evidence)

Evidence

To begin with, when you give Susie Tea to Kris, they'll get a 120 heal, with extra dialogue, which is as follows:

S: STOP LOOKING AT ME!

R: (They seem into it.)

This is very interesting, since not only is it the tea that heals the most to Kris, it also implies that they are 'into' Susie, which has romantic connotations.

Of course, this isn't everything, because the Susie fight has some secrets in there as well.

When you have the 'option' to fight Susie in Scarlet Forest, if you wait long enough, the heart will move by itself and choose Let's not fight for a split second. You can actually see it on ANY playthrough if you look closely.

In the fight, there's an act you can do with either Susie or Lancer, which says Anything, and if you click it for the first time on either of them, Kris will complement them over how their hair flows in the wind. If you do this on Susie though, she will say 'Really?...Shut up and fight!' Granted, this isn't very solid, as Kris will say the exact same thing to Lancer.

There's ALSO the fact that after the Spamton NEO fight, the game makes a point of the fact that Kris wants to be hugged by Susie, not Ralsei.

I would also like to mention Poppups, of all things... One of the many interactions Kris can have with them is 'You unconsciously clicked on a popup about "monsters 4 humans" "in your area"

This shows that Kris is romantically interested in monsters. Perhaps they already have a crush?

Most importantly, when you're given the option to choose who you want to go with to the festivl, Kris acts confused on every candidate except for Susie. I would like to note the romantic implications of the question, given how Susie specifically asked if they had to choose ONE. Why ? They can have multiple friends! Actually, SUSIE has MULTIPLE best friends, as Kris, Ralsei and Noelle heal the EXACT same amount of HP to her, anyway. Unless she ISN'T asking about best friends.

How about a THEORY.

NOW I BEGIN WITH THE MINDFUCKERY: KRIS' RED SOUL MAIN TRAIT: Love

We KNOW this is the case because of Papyrus. In one of his phonecalls for Hotland, he says: "MAYBE L STANDS FOR LOVE"

Undyne: "But isn't love supposed to be FIREY RED?! Like a cartoony human-heart?

Then, they talk about how Undyne turns people's hearts into green.

And, well, all the main human's souls have been exactly that: firey red cartoony human-hearts. Which is very interesting, because the only times they go out of our control is when they have to do with either Susie, or when they show their FIREY RED EYES, after all- they ARE the window to the soul. In fact, at the end of ch 2, when Kris takes out the soul, the first thing they do is look at Susie in front of her, before doing all the weird things they do.

Conversely, the only time when we can completely control them is in the weird route, which has connotations of a toxic romantic relationship (remember the ThornRING?). After all, LOVE can mean two VERY different things.

This also means that the red soul can't be the player's soul, as they are just as likely to be Love than Perseverence, for example.

AND FINALLY: THE SWEEPSTAKES

This is important because in new girl, Kris takes a bite of the already bitten apple by Susie, which could be interpreted as planting an indirect kiss. There's also the fact that Kris never tells their mom about Susie, showing that they don't want her to get punished. And how could I forget about the very mysterious thing they said to her that somehow managed to get under Susie's skin? I honestly don't have a solid answer for this, but I just mentioned this just in case.

And that's everything, I think? This post was originally going to be about Susie's own crushes, but the evidence for Kris' crush on Susie was so unfathomably big this HAD to be it's own post. I just hope I made you think about the relationships of these characters a bit more. anyhoo heres some other doodles because i thought long and hard about this and wanted to draw out all of my ideas.

i tried thinking about everything in like. a human way. idk how else to describe it like. i took the logic and put it into realistic human people things. so this version of spamton NEO is basically just this version of regular spamton, but with a more flashy outfit (i spent like 10 minutes trying to translate the robot body into like. an actual outfit and even then i was still kinda stumped so i gave him a weird shirt with a big bowtie and shoe pants and called it a day. will probably rework eventually 😭) and high heels (to kind of simulate how in the game hes a lot taller i guess) and instead of his garbled ad-speech he just has a stutter.

You know what. I DO wanna know about the religious imagery with Mettaton. Tell me all about it *laying on my chest kicking my feet up in the air*

Let us start with his name. Remember that majority of the names in Undertale/Deltarune are very particular, whether it be for a funny joke or something with a dual meaning (ex: Toriel is just Tutorial, Undyne being Undying, etc). The etymology is rather important with characters, and Mettaton is certainly no exception. His name is most likely derived from the angel Metatron, found in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. He was one of the only two humans to attain Heaven in the form of an angel, he was originally a righteous man named Enoch who was gifted with the form of an angel by God once he died. Now, the names being similar could very well be a coincidence, but one must also take note of the fact that Metatron is transliterated as MTT in Greek; which is too much of a coincidence to not be intentional.

So... his name is taken from an angel, which is already an allusion to the notion of deities and religion. Furthermore, this angel in particular is a rather interesting candidate to be compared with Mettaton... Both of these figures were something else entirely before they obtained their true forms, and changed their name along the way. They have even further parallels when you look at the name's meaning and Mettaton's actions. Metatron is most likely derived from the verb memater, which means to guard or protect; very striking when one considers the fact that Mettaton is very much a protector in Genocide/No Mercy Route; he quite literally gives his life to protect the Underground, as a guardian angel would do.

Furthermore, he is quite literally a celebrity, an idol. He even says it himself, he is the idol everyone craves. This is a double entendre, referring to him being a celebrity or figure to look up to, or a literal deity. Deities are all considered idols, they are to be worshipped; the very notion is entirely what his character is about. He loses his humanity, he is no longer a person. Hell, he is not even seen as alive, in his quest to be the true idol for humanity and monsterkind. He is worshipped and adored, yet is it genuine? Do the people know and love the real him? No. He is the heater, the Underground's sexiest rectangle, he is seen as just a robot. He is complacent in this, yet to hide his past and help Alphys he gave his humanity away.

It is a rather cruel twist on the story of Metatron actually... Metatron was given a wonderful gift by his creator, God gave him immortality and the blessing of being truly holy. This transformation into something else was divine, yet the same cannot be said about Mettaton. He was given the body of his dreams, yet it will never come without a terrible cost. His humanity and agency was given away, he even got used for functions he would be completely against; such as his creator giving him human eradication functions to "make him more useful", something the human loving ghost would never agree to until the last possible moments in a Pacifist run. Regardless, Mettaton falls into both the categories of being the idol and being God's pawn, which is rather interesting.

And of course... he is not without true fans either, take Spamton for example. Spamton supposedly spent all of his time praying to an artifact, the very machine that created NEO; which evidently has direct ties towards Mettaton NEO. I honestly never played the Spamton NEO fight yet, so I cannot comment too much on it, however Mettaton is quite literally an overworld being being unknowingly worshipped and prayed to by someone who resides below; this blind faith being found in every religion.

So yeah... Whether it was directly intentional or not, Mettaton as a whole has a decent amount of religious imagery and themes with his character that it becomes rather important to properly dissect him fully. I barely remember writing any of this, he probably possessed me and made me write this.

So I was thinking about Mettaton, and something hit me

Mettaton Neo has a very angelic design. I may be stretching it, but considering what a certain other angel looks like

The resemblance is very much there. Mettaton's Ex and Neo forms look far more human than anything or anyone in the underground, including Frisk themselves during the Genocide run. Mettaton Neo is specifically a form used in a last case scenario to stop you. Now depending on how you view the Neo form, this can probably mean a few things. My two cents is that its Mettaton trying to keep himself and you fooled. Mettaton first and foremost is a showman. He's a TV star, and even if he may no longer have an audience, there's no way he's going off air lying down.

Now why would this relate to his Neo form resembling the Angel? Well he's bluffing, whether intentionally or not he is bluffing. He can't beat you, and deep down I think he knows too. The best he can do is stall for time to get as many people out and evacuated as possible, to inspire hope. Its why he stays in the underground, and its what he's good at: inspiring. So he fights you and blocks your path, in the face of a demon he uses the visage of an Angel as the last line of defense for Monster kind. Undyne has fallen, the Asgore will fall too, but Mtt cannot let the monsters hopes die too. It uses a bunch of leitmotifs, and one of which is Bergentrückung, the other theme of someone who tried to bring hope to the Monsters, and the theme of who will fall after Mtt. This is also apparent with how Power of Neo is a more techno Mtt themed version of BAATH to begin with. But what I want to point out is what this means for Spamton Neo. By this logic, Spamton ALSO uses the visage of an Angel. Just for funnies, lets compare sprites too!

Notice how it only uses the first part of the loop, it doesn't go on and doesn't continue Power of Neo fully. It doesn't have the full meaning of Mettaton's heroic sacrifice to help people, as instead of an Angel to save the Underground, Spamton is that Angel of Death in Undertale's prophecy (in the Snowgrave route anyway). Like Mettaton, Spamton also uses the visage of an Angel to achieve a goal, but no matter what route it is its a dark perversion of Mettaton's goals. Mettaton wanted to inspire the Underground and achieve his dreams, trying to stall and kill Frisk to either save them from Asgore, or save the survivors from You. Spamton wanted his freedom and attacks and tries to kill Kris for their soul so he can be free. He also assists in the Snowgrave route, being an accomplice to many many deaths for 15 minutes of fame. This idea is more properly conveyed in the last parts of Big Shot with the use of Power of Neo. Oh yeah this was a Mettaton analysis whoopsie Ok so I know this was a Mettaton Neo thing at the start but man I just wanted to gush and gush about Mettaton cuz man I really can't get enough of him. He's the only one of two characters in Undertale to directly have connections with the Angel prophecy when it isn't just the Delta Rune itself, he inadvertantly saved the Underground because he's what made Alphys get the Royal Scientist posi--OH WAIT YEAH THATS SOMETHING I CAN TALK ABOUT OK SO SIDE TANGENT METTATON UNINTENTIONALLY SAVED THE UNDERGROUND AND I FIND THAT REALLY REALLY COOL! Because Alphys used Mettaton as a project to show to Asgore to become the Royal Scientist, this let Alphys work on the amalgamates and also create Flowey. Without Flowey, the barrier wouldn't have broken and no one would have been freed. Yes I know this isn't all solid since Mettaton didn't somehow cause 6 random kids fall down but you get the idea. Mettaton transitioning saved the world totally I NEED MORE METTATON AUS GRHEYCGDHWUDYGHJWYDH IM GOING TO GO FERAL!!! HE'S NEEDS IT AHHHHHHH!! Ts!Underswap is honestly amazing for Mettaton. I mean Mettacrit. He doesn't get his JoJo body, but is that going to stop him? OF COURSE NOT!

HE'S METTACRIT! AIN'T NO ONE STOPPING HIS DREAMS! He's also a wonderful little gist of Mettaton's whole character, just get rid of Alphys (sadly). Someone who wants to achieve their dreams, wanting to share the love and kindness around, with of course the sassy show stealing charm he needs.

I MAY BE READING TOO FAR INTO THIS BUT I LOVE METTATON GAMMA SO MUCHHHH Its still our same ol Mettaton, but now his dreams are falling on deaf ears. He's Spamton in nature instead of Fabulous. Everyone is violent and blood hungry, so a simple cooking show with a touch of murder won't be enough, or another beautiful rendition of Oh My Love~! Its clear (to me anyway) that Mettaton in this au is nowhere near as big a star as he is in the normal Undertale continuity. In his intro monologue he brags about the audience he brought in, and during the fight he's much more focused on what the Audience wants rather than the show HE wants. Something OUR Mettaton just wouldn't do. This is the same sexy rectangle who basically just broadcasts whatever he wants. I forgot the exact dialogue and screenshot but its just not something Undertale Mettaton really does. Underfell though? A different story. He's bound to his viewers in a bad way till Frisk comes along. He's even more bound to Alphys in this AU as her little science fair project. GOD I LOVE THIS GAME ITS WHAT I'D WANT FROM AN ACTUAL UNDERFELL GAME! Oh my god I haven't even talked about Deltarune Mettaton and Mike and how that works OK SO THIS IS ENTERING MY PERSONAL FANON BUT Y'know how Spamton and Mettaton have their parallels? Y'know how the internet has been down in Deltarune?

Chapter 3's dark world is definitely TV themed, there's no way it can't. I know Tenna is the big TV related baddie now, but Im using Mike in this take. If Spamton is the more passive parallel to Mettaton, Mike in this chapter 3 take would be the darker direct parallel. Instead of the dreamer from humble beginnings who, even if he can be vain and self centered at times, still means well deep down like Mettaton is, Mike would be the cynical producer type who's fueling problems in the industry to make it big on top. A dark Mettaton if you will. Basically like this

Hi! Saw your post about giving Undertale characters Quirks 👀. With chapter 3+4 releasing sometime this year, would it be possible for you to the same for some of the Deltarune characters? Primarily Susie, Noelle, Berdly, Ralsei, Lancer, King, Queen, Spamton (or Spamton NEO) and Jevil as well as Kris (unless you think they’d be Quirkless to parallel the whole the “only human in hometown” thing).

I'll have to play more fast and loose with this one. A lot of their powers are pretty basic and hard to translate in a way that's interesting. Still, I will try to make a fitting list for the characters.

WELCOME TO THE KRIS-KNIGHT EVIDENCE COMPILATION

Originally, this post was me asking why people didn’t like Kris Knight, but eventually I began looking around for evidence and it resulted in this!

At the very least, I want to convince you that it’s not an impossibility.

Kris is the only person we’ve seen creating a dark fountain.

Kris sleeps during the entire class in Chapter 2, which means they were up for a while that night. [setting up and creating the fountain]

“Kris just wanted some pie.”

They look to be in extreme pain when pulling out the soul, and as much of a gremlin as Kris is, doing that just for the pie is excessive.

“Kris couldn’t have made it to the library within the night at their pace.”

I tested this in game. I tried to match the cutscene Kris’ pace to the best I could. It took me 3:10 mins to get from the center of the bedroom to the computer lab door. Let’s say I was going too fast, so we’ll double that time. 6:20 minutes to get to the library. The trip back would take around the same time so double that again, 12:40. Plenty of time. (Although in-game time doesn't necessarily have to match up with lore time, it should be roughly the same time.)

At the end of chapter 3 the fountain doesn’t immediately create a dark world, so it’s likely Kris could’ve left the library before the Cyber World was opened.

“How did nobody see them going to the library?”

It’s the middle of the night so most people are probably asleep.

The townspeople don’t know much about humans and Kris is already considered weird so if they saw them they’d probably think this is a normal human thing or just Kris being Kris.

“How would Kris get into the library in the middle of the night?”

Undyne and Alphys both talk about how there’s never any crime. People probably feel safe enough to not lock the doors of their businesses at night.

In fact, the school is a great example of this! Even after the school day is over the doors are still unlocked.

“Noelle and Berdly were in the library when the Dark Fountain was created.”

Alright, this counter-point has a lot of variations. The counterpoints will be represented with PURPLE instead of red.

“Their books were already laid out in the table and open!”

Their books were not open. I don’t know why people think that.

As for why they’re stacked on the table… I don’t really know. I don’t think they became Darkners, nor were they in Noelle’s inventory. Maybe Berdly’s homework attack? We still don’t really know enough about how Dark Worlds work so it’s not conclusive enough evidence.

Regardless, why would these books, which aren’t even brought attention to, be THE evidence to take down multiple knight theories? It’s a huge stretch.

The line about a large person being able to fit inside is very vague. It could mean so many things! Spamton NEO, Giga Queen, Berdly’s body…

That’s… a really bad plan. If anyone opens the closet they’re immediately going to find The Knight, holding a weapon. Then The Knight is either cornered or have to attack whoever sees them, regardless, bringing attention to themself.

Not counter-evidence but… That’s terrifying, even if it’s a bad plan. The idea that someone was hiding in the closet wielding a blade waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

If the fountain was created just after Kris and Susie left Castle Town then The Knight would have nowhere to go without being seen. There’s a traffic jam blocking off the rest of the town.

He doesn’t necessarily say that the presence was a fountain. I assume he is talking about the fountain, but still.

He could be lying.

School hasn’t been out for that long. Evidently Kris and Susie were in Castle Town for a short enough time where Noelle and Berdly would reasonably still be in the library. Maybe 30 minutes, max. Noelle seemed perfectly awake before that.

At the end of Chapter 1, Susie also initially thinks it was a dream.

Since she told Noelle it was a dream, Noelle assumed she must’ve been asleep, and then Berdly, hearing Noelle come to that conclusion, also believed that to be the case.

"They were lying down at the table on the opposite side of the entrance! They couldn't get there if the fountain was open before they came in."

You don't end up where you entered once a dark fountain is closed. You'll be around where the Dark Fountain was. Remember Chapter 1? Kris and Susie entered through the supply closet and exited out the unused classroom.

Where are do they end up in Chapter 2? Next to the laptop that represents Queen (Unless Chapter 1 worked differently because those were two different dark worlds, but unless something disproves this in the future, this seems like what's being implied.)

“If Kris made the fountain why did they back off in fear when the closet opened?”

So far there’s not been any mention of this fountain being made by The Knight. Wouldn’t you be scared if a fountain you didn’t create appeared?

Kris also hasn’t gone into a Dark World at this point. (No, there’s no indication that The Knight has been inside the dark worlds. Everything that The Knight causes can be explained by them moving things around in the Light World, like Kris does at the end of Chapter 2) We can tell because their level is the same as Susie’s and they couldn’t get out of a Dark World without sealing the fountain, and as a result, leveling up. (Castle Town’s exit only appears in Chapter 2 for some reason. I don’t know if it’s lore relevant or just gameplay.)

Jeez it’s hard to convey these thoughts in a way that makes sense.

Tw parasites and corpses and stuff. Yeah

So basically they're these freak little parasites that take corpses they find and use magic to change the appearance to be A. More appealing to get them more customers and B. LESS DECEASED LOOKING

"Oh why did you make them like that" So basically I was like "Hmm. How would the empty disk and loaded disk work in a human au" and then I was like "Ok so actually the addisons are all parasites controlling a host body and that's why Spamton was able to become Spamton NEO here because he just changed hosts. Every singlr addison is able to do this now assuming they got their hands on a NEO body"

The changes take a lot out of them because they're so small so they try and avoid switching hosts/changing appearances unless it's something small. When they do a full change they're out of commission for a few days because they have to recover THIS IMPACTS SALES!!!!!!

They are very fuzzy. They also aren't aggressive they are like. The regular addisons just shoved into a parasite. You could hold them in your hands (for $9.99)

The reason the Addisons have their eyes closed (or covered) all the time is because the parasites reside in the eyes of the deceased host. They carve out the area behind the host's eyes so they can scuttle around. Addisons don't open their eyes/remove their glasses or whatever they have unless they are around ONLY other Addisons. They don't want people to see that they are a funny little creature sales will be impacted

Hello gay pink addison with critter in eye. This is how they like to communicate. Can they talk using the body? Yeah because they hook themselves up the brain of the host so they can effectively puppet the body. How else wpuld they sell things. Nobody is going to buy things from a 6 inch parasite. But they can't resist a fun little talk with The Girls (other parasites)

I think when he inhabits the NEO body he would be like overexerting his magic to change the form so suddenly so he would look different (probably longer) but he mostly looks like that
