Why do I have nostalgic feelings about something like this?

For those that don't know, this is a sugar dispenser that when you pour it over it's meant to give you one tablespoon of sugar. Then you straighten it up and pour it again for another.

Me, feeling like there is no solid ground in my life. It is all quick sand and no one's fault: I am good, How are you?

Caring for my nanna with dementia has been overwhelming at times but can also give some rewarding experiences. I've learned so much about patience, empathy and the power of small actions. Some of the things I am working on though.

1. Creating a routine. That is easy for everyone in the household to follow

2. Simplify communication.

3. Be present both emotionally and physically

4. Make their environment safe, without making too many changes

5. Take care of myself too.

This dementia journey has been (and will be) filled with ups and downs. So I am trying to take the opportunity to learn about Nanna through time, cherish those precious moments and celebrate the love we share. Even if I end up not being enough and she needs to be cared for by people who are more professional and understand her more than me.
