Another adorable abomination: Here is my idea of what a Pokémon trainer Ralsei would look like:

I based Ralsei on the "Friendly Rival" Type. My main inspiration for his design here was Wally (and Ralts).

While friendly Rivals also can have a full Team. Here I took more inspiration from the XY friendgroup, and only gave Ralsei 4-5 Pokémon.

Since Ralsei is a friendly Rival, he gets the weaker starter Pokémon. Kris already got Dewott, so Ralsei gets Servine. The Snivy Line has a royalty theme, plus with Servine being a grass type, you also have sort of a connection to Flowers. Furthermore, since Ralsei also has "Devine" attacks, it rather fits name wise, and choosing the middle stage is representative of the gang being in their teens. I had a special thought for Ralsei having a starter though. The starter your rival picks is dependant on your choice, so initially Ralsei just picked Snivy because the protagonist chose Tepic. Ralsei did this to please the programm so to say (something he tends to do), while Kris might've had no choice, but at least they now have the upper hand over them.

Next is the goat Skiddo. The reason for Skiddo is relatively simple and obvious, but Skiddos are also the first pokémon that lived together with humans, which would fit the darkner theme. They can sense it's trainer's emotions (in the anime at least) and are also seemingly willing to help out others if we extrapolate a bit. Also the pokémon that represents Ralsei in a more literal sense being a pokémon whose main use was being a vehicle is pretty fitting for Ralsei's "I have to be useful and serve others" complex

A pokémon I really want Ralsei to have is Eevee, because of it's evolution potential. Not only are Eevees fluffy boys 87,5% of the time, but Ralsei himself currently has to figure out who he is and who he wants to be, which is a great parallel to Eevee. I imagine his Eevee would be shiny, because of Ralsei being a darkner and having white fur.

Another pokémon I think Ralsei would have with a simple reason is Milcery, which famously evolves into a cake that changes it's design and flavour depending on how you decorate and turn your Milcary, which agin symbolizes Ralsei's journey of self discovery, and his love for cake.

Lastly, though Ralts was a very tempting option, I think Ralsei would have a Hattena or Hattrem (not completely sure).

Both Ralts and Hattena have the ability to sense emotions, the key difference though is that Hattena has a little pointy witch hat.

I jest but this is part of the reason I picked Hattena in the end.

No, the key difference is that while Ralts gets less shy when confronted with positive emotions, Hattena and Hattrem can't stand strong emotions, and preferr their surroundings to be calm. While Ralsei isn't allergic to other's emotions, he has trouble actually handleing them, as shown in the post Spamton Neo fight, or in how he handled the roaring. He doesn't know what to do about them, and his main strategy seems to be: "positivity=good, negativity=bad, so better stay positive and don't pay attention to the bad stuff", which isn't really helpful, and you could even argue that for a Kris that needs a different kind of comfort right now instead of just getting a "how about you just think about something else" is a pretty bad Hattrem-style slap in the face. (btw, I love Ralsei and I think his flaws make him a super interesting character, this isn't a front against him)

Other than that, I imagine Ralsei would want to have a Blissey someday, but I feel like he wouldn't have one yet, and I sadly couldn't really think of the right fire type for him, but maybe next gen, we'll finally get the fire fairy goat I always wanted.

been thinking about what pokemon starters deltarune characters would have. i think kris would have a rowlet because it goes through an emo phase. and decidueye is a ghost time and that works with whole soul thing i guess??? but emo phase pokemon. also a grass type because moss

My thoughts/reactions to the underevent 2024 fan game showcases.

Bleeding hearts - WOW! this looks gorgeous! I might check this one out. I really like how the characters look and how beautifully animated they are. I can't wait for this one.

deltarune alternate chapter 3 - it looks like fun! All the new characters designs look official but also really unique. I can't wait to see how they do with toriel in this one.

DeltaFALL - (I thought it was gonna be a 3d game for a second lol.) The new fighting gameplay looks really good and overall the trailer makes it look VERY promising.

Deltamon - deltarune but with pokemon! Sure, why not?

deltarune missing souls - a fan made origin game with dess and asriel? Cool! I really like how the other characters look in this one too. Can't wait to see how this goes.

Deltarune hypothesis - (A lot of deltarune fan games here) A mystery fangame! All i'm going to say is that sans is shrek in this one, so obviously its gonna be a 10/10 game.

Undercards - might be a fun game for people who like card games.

Undertale CALL OF THE VOID Placek's take - this looks very, very interesting...(also GREEN SANS MENTION!!!)

The pre-show undertale green - An undertale game with mostly humans is new.

Undertale build project - Undertale in mincraft! But in all seriousness the amount of detail in this map is crazy!

Dusttale TD - a duststale fangame. I've seen a bit of a review on this one and so far I think it looks good.

Undertale soul's link - An AU where asriel joins frisk in the underground is very interesting. I can't wait for it to come out so I can read it to see how different the story will be.

Undertale plus - What fun choices. I can only imagine how chaotic it will get with the multiplayer gameplay.

Underswap echoed - I was about to say how this one reminded me of ts! Underswap lol

Desktoptale - YES!

Dusttale reimagined - Another dusttale fangame, Looks like flowey is the killer in this one.

Undertale together next soul - more multiplayer!

DEPPER JAR the test experience - OFF!?!? (This looks like a funny game)

Sonic 3 X deltarune alternate chapter 3 - pretty interesting.

Undertale red and yellow - cute! I love to see the interactions with both clover and chara.

Edezetale - WOW THIS LOOKS SO COOL!!! Definitely seeing this one.

Nightfell - this is like a mashup of every indie rpg all together, I love it!

Undertale kindred spirits - YEAH BABY! THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!

Dusttrust - OOOOOOHHH, PRETTY ANIMATION!!! this one seems quite unigue compared to the other dust games!

Insomnia - i...I have no words....THAT GENUINELY GAVE ME CHILLS!!! OHMYGOOOOOO- (MULTIMEDIA!? Bitch is this an ARG!?!?)

WOW! Okay so those are my thoughts on the recent under event. These all seemed pretty cool and i LOVE to see some of these.

(8) Underevent 2024

Well, I'm counting it.

This was an amazing showcase of so much fan content. Everything shown off looks great! Plus the preshow and all the story bits were handled really well. My only real nitpick with it is that it distracts from the overall goal of the show which is to show off and celebrate these amazing fan works. But again it's a minor nitpick and I still thought it was cool.

Now onto my favorite reveals, and there are a lot of them. The first big thing is Vision Crew's alternate chapters 3 and 4. This... honestly blew my mind. I've been loosely following its development, however, it completely slipped past me that they were turning what I thought were music concepts into an actual full game!... kinda. What will be playable isn't full chapters, but specific scenes. A bit disappointing, but what's in the trailer looks amazing so who cares! Also, the main dev mentioned that they plan to make chapter 6 into a full playable chapter, unlike 3 and 4, and I'm so excited about that as well.

Next up is Deltamon, a Pokemon Deltarune fan game. This looks like so much fun. An alternate take on Deltarune's story to fit the world of Pokemon sounds amazing. I'm very curious how they'll combine the Deltarune combat and Pokemon battle system since I'm not sure how status effects would work in Deltarune-styled combat. Unless the combat mostly follows Deltarune's rules which would make a lot of sense. Really excited for this!

AAAaannd I'm going to stop myself there because I'm realizing as I'm writing this that I'm just going to list off every single fan project in this event. So, TLDR, everything was amazing, and you should watch the event for yourself. So much passion and love was put into it, and it deserves to be celebrated. The UTDR community coming together like this is always nice to see.

I ended up getting the idea to make a deltarune, pokémon crossover, deltamon, but when I was gonna start, remembered I cant DRAW HUMANS FOR THE LIFE OF ME and for the first scene, guess who needs to be drawn. THATS RIGHT, KRIS! So while I try to figure out a way to draw them but not rlly this au is on hold, but maybe soon. Anyways here's this art while you wait.

Nobody asked for it, I'm continuing anyways

Here is a sketch of my idea for a Pokémon trainer Kris

This time I based them on the "mean Rival type". Designwise, I wanted to base them more on Silver, while Pokémon wise, I thought of Gladion.

Since Kris is a Rival, they get the previlige of having a Starter Pokémon, as well as having 5-6 Pokémon in their team.

For their Starter I chose Dewott, for the simple reason of sharp object and blue. Also it's ears look like little horns, and it also has these little hairstrains on it's head.

Next I think Kris would have a Dipplin. With dipplin we not only get Kris's apple theme, but also, Dipplin has actually 2 dragon inside it's one apple, which could be symbolic for us and Kris sharing a body. I also like the potential of a Pokéverse story, with Kris maybe evolving their applin just before we posess them (they did not plan this) or them evolving/catching one after they get posessed, and thus being able to relate to it in a weird way, or even not relate to it at first, but maybe being able to learn and cope with it's help.

Now the Pokémon I think Kris would have, because they kinda just vibe with their energy, namely Sableye and Morgrem. Both of them have a mischevious gremlin energy, and while Morgrem shares Kris's hairstyle, Sableye has similaritys with Zombies and is also said to steal people's souls. Not exactly a perfect parallel to Kris, but it reminded me of them.

And, for a little bit of angsty metaphore sprinkled in, I think Kris would have a Yamask. They carry their old face from when they were a human with them, and sometimes when you look at it, it tears up.

Lastly, even though I kinda want them to only have 5 Pokémon, I think Ceruledge could be also a good fit, but like with Noelle and Delibird, probably after going through an arc. It's really hard to say, since Deltarune isn't finished yet. Design wise, Ceruledge fits Kris's dark world outfit really well, and even though this is mostly speculation, Ceruledge's pokédex entry in relation to Kris is also pretty interesting. I just think Kris having such a strong Knight Pokémon, when most of this imaginary team is only either unevolved or in their middle stage, and more importantly, when it's currently still up in the air if they even are the Knight, is a little out of place. I think it would be cool, if they had a Ceruledge in the dark world hough.

Continuing with probably one of the most cursed ones, and thus completing the fun gang, here's my interpretation of Pokémon trainer Susie:

Designwise, I wanted to base her on the Punk Girl, but the Delinquent just fit Susie's actual style way better (btw, I had no idea she was called a delinquent in english until now, otherwise I would've chosen that type immediatly), and their choice of Pokémon is sorta similar anyway.

Now Delinquents and Punk girls often have like only 2 Pokémon, but I gave Susie a third anyway. And her Pokémon are honestly mostly vibe based, I think out of the gang, Ralsei has the most thought put into his team.

Firstly Krokorok, because that is the pokémon I imagine Susie would be if she was one. I didn't go with Krookodile, because I think it would still be a bit too strong for a teenager.

Next I think she would have a Granbull, as it also greatly represents Susie's scary exterier, while inside she is probably just really scared and insecure

And last but definetly not least, I would give her Pignite, thus completing the fun gang trio. When I gave the Unova starters to the other two, I did so with the thought that we as the player were somehow the protagonist, and chose Tepic for ourselves, but Susie famously doesn't give a $!$?, as she kinda defied our special Protagonist position on 3(?) sepperate occasions. Pignite also matches the "Susie is the actual hero of DR" theory quite nicely if we view it under my previously explained "Pignite should've been the player's" angle, which was really important for me to reflect in one of her pokémon. Pignite can also be pretty protective, and they also like to eat a lot, which I think are definetly also Susie traits (even if she is a little stand off-ish at first). Also pignite is fire, I think she would like that.

With that Susie sadly has a lot less Pokémon than Ralsei or Kris, but this just gave me more room for headcanons:

I think Susie had all of her pokémon for a very long time, which explains why she has so few. They're really close and Susie has it a little harder to just let new pokémon into their nice dynamic.

She probably grew up with Snubull, and I imagine Tepic and Sandile were abandoned, or at least were pretty lonely when she met them, thus making it easier for her to bond with them

I think the more Susie trusts someone, the more they get to see of her pokémon.

She probably "terrorizes" everyone with Krokorok, who I imagine is also really protective of her

Once she gets closer to [insert friend here], she introduces them to Pignite, who is more representitive of her goofy chapter 2 self

And Granbull is probably something like her comfort pokémon, who she is very protective over, since it's so shy, but it also always comforts her if she had a rough day.

You are being challenged by Lass Noelle

I made her a Human, because I find it a bit odd that Monsters would keep other Monsters as Pets, but I made a Regular Noelle Version as well:

In terms of trainer class, I felt like Noelle shares the most similarities with Lasses outfit wise

Lasses usually have around 1-3 Pokémon (with exeptions), so if I had to pick a team for her, I'd go with:

Deerling: I know it's not a Reindeer, but I think it fits Noelle pretty well, since it changes appearence based on the season. Plus Lasses usually battle with cuter Pokémon

Snubbull: Because it's scary looking, but actually really tame and playful towards girls, plus it is said that Snubbull can be quite the scaredy cat. In general, I think it fits Noelle's character really well, and would be a great Partner for her

And Lastly, even though I think it's a bit basic

Alolan Vulpix: It's one of the Pokémon that sort of fit the category "Ice Angel", and you can probably imagine why I would want such a Pokémon for Noelle. Alolan Ninetales was said to be some sort of deity in ancient times, and since Vulpix is basically a mini-Ninetales, I think you could call it an angel if you wanted. Not only that, but even though Vulpix look cute, they can be quite dangerous, e.g. they freeze their pray with their -50° breath before they eat them, (sound familiar?) and Vulpix is able to learn the 1 Hit K.O. move Sheer Cold at Lv. 50 (sound familiar?). I know it's definetly not a 1-1 compairison, but I thought this was the most fitting Ice type for Noelle.

Now, why didn't I go with Delibird, or Stantler?

They feel more like they'd fit her Parents better, other than that, for Delibird specifically, I wanted Noelle's Pokémon to reflect her, but also leaving room for growth in her character, and I think Delibird would probably be more the type of Pokémon she'd catch later, as weird as this sounds. Delibird can't evolve, and in terms of Representing Noelle, there is the obvious holiday theme, and maybe the fact that she likes to help people, but when I think about Noelle Holiday and Santa Clause, who Delibird is based on, I mainly think about that she used to be afraid of him (maybe she even still is, Idk). In terms of representing Noelle's fears, that she likes scary things, and her standing up for herself, I just found Snubbull to be a way better match. In a hypothetical "DR takes place in the Pokémon universe" scenario, Noelle might catch a Delibird after completing a certain arc, and becomming braver or stronger. I can also totally see the Holiday family just having a Delibird as like a family pet/ Mr. Mime type butler.

At the end of the day, you could totally exchange Vulpix for Delibird, or just add a fourth Pokémon, it's not that deep.
