Summer 2024 Behind-the-Scenes Reading
This summer was the summer of thesis reading.
There’s a very academic bent to this write-up, because, as I mentioned in last quarter’s write up. This was the summer of thesis reading. The write up you see before you is in no small part an extension of my thesis journaling, which was the half of my summer that wasn’t reading, meaning that even the non academic books here have been read in an academic mindset with an academic…

"Meet The Faces of Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja" by Fanlala from September 17th 2012. (this would've been the day RC9GN started officially airing)
These are short little interviews of the main cast by Fanlala, which I believe is a website that doesn't exist anymore, but their youtube channel is still up including this video!

Halloween Lives & Dies scripts are written by me and my friend which it takes place after Halloween Ends and it’s in Norrisville, no longer taking place in Haddonfield, Illinois. And Which all of the characters from RC9GN are now 24-25 as Bash is 27 along with Rebecca.
I have a headcanon that Corey & Randy are cousins, they never met Arnie because he died before they were even born. Their moms moved far away from each other who are sisters.
Ms. Cunningham, the mother of Randy, The sister of Joan & Regina. (Status of Regina is unknown, the mother of Arnie.)
Randy is 24 now and he’s the youngest cousin of Arnie & Corey which he brought them two back to life, & he's engaged with Theresa.
Corey is the main killer in the script, and there’s no Michael Myers because he died.
Arnie Cunningham from Christine is back, he’s aged up and he isn’t evil anymore since he’s an elderly man, he’s from Christine. Which Christine event’s did happen after the events in Halloween 1978 before RC9GN events, and Halloween 2018-2022 events which Michael died in Halloween Ends.
Julian is a Goth Therapist, and stevens is also his boyfriend.
Bucky & Flute Girl are a couple, nothing much.
Heidi & Howard (Randy's friend) are siblings living together still.
Bash Johnson has a girlfriend Rebecca. (OC By my buddy BJ)
Buttermaker is just a man living in a house looking out for the neighborhood.
Brent works at the garage.
Morgan is a fighter ready for Corey/The Scarecrow.
Dave & Juggo have nothing much, but Juggo works at the carnival.
Rachel is a news reporter about Corey's killings.
Jacques is just a fashion suit wearing man who’s a business man.
SO, If you guys want to read those 2 scripts then hit me up in messages by following me.

BHOC: DETECTIVE COMICS #483
For almost the entirety of its run, I had been a regular reader of BATMAN FAMILY. But during the famous DC Implosion, in which DC’s publishing line was significantly pruned back, BATMAN FAMILY had been merged with DETECTIVE COMICS in an effort to keep the series that the company had been named after alive. Clearly, it worked, as DETECTIVE COMICS continues to be published to this day. But this…

Tree of Souls: The Mythology of Judiasm by Howard Schwartz
Tree of Souls is a collection of Jewish mythology like no other.
Note: This should have gone up Monday, July 22, but for whatever reason, it didn’t release from the queue. Apologies for the delay. Tree of Souls is a book that has been on my bookshelf for a number of years now. I first sought it out for it having the most clearly defined retelling of (and accompanying sources for) the story of the unfinished corner of creation that I could find. I picked it up…

Animation Professionals Over 90 Still Alive
10 years ago, Cartoon Brew had an article about animators from the Golden Age and beyond over a certain age still living.
https://www.cartoonbrew.com/animators/who-are-the-oldest-living-animation-artists-88196.html
Unfortunately, the lion's share of that group have since passed away, save for a handful of names. For this post, I would like to highlight (in age order) those from studios like Disney, Warner Brothers as well as independent bases that are around today who represent the last living links to old school animation. These include artists, directors and writers. Exclusive voice actors or animated music composers are not counted.

The clerk who is thrown out of work By the boss who is thrown for a loss By the skirt who is doing him dirt The world is a stage The stage is a world of entertainment!
"That's Entertainment!" from The Band Wagon (1953) – music by Arthur Schwartz and lyrics by Howard Dietz; performed by Jack Buchanan, Nanette Fabray, Oscar Levant, and Fred Astaire
As perhaps the most memorable original song in one of MGM's best musicals, "That's Entertainment!" has taken a life of its own as one of the studio's (and Hollywood's) unofficial anthems. Appearing in the opening act of The Band Wagon, a friend of actors gleefully perform together just as they are about to go into rehearsals for a musical comedy.
"That's Entertainment!" was also the title name of three documentaries detailing MGM's history – the first in 1974 (when the studio was on the verge of demolishing its storied soundstages, which are now home to Sony Pictures Studios), the second in in 1976, and the final one in 1994.
