One of the greatest most wonderful most worth it things about living life and getting older is when you notice your healing. Anything from "woah, I thought that scar would never disappear, but now you wouldn't notice it unless I pointed it out" to "wow, when was the last time I grieved that relationship? It hardly even hurts anymore" to "I can't remember the last time I was lonely like I used to be when I was a teenager" etc. Handling something that a few years ago would have been so much more difficult. Being amazed by how resilient you are after all. You'll heal. You'll heal. You'll heal. You have happiness to look forward to on the other side.
#when i was a kid i had really severe eczema#for years the insides of my elbows would be torn and bloodied constantly from the scratching#my parents thought my skin would actually never recover and would be permanently damaged#but i healed completely. there's no evidence that that ever happened to me#my eczema isn't nearly as bad now that I'm an adult but I've had some ugly patches on my hands for about a year#and I just picked up medicine today#and i was thinking about how something I've lived with for a year will soon be gone without a trace#and the other day i was telling my partner how i haven't been desperately lonely in the last few years#and i used to feel that way all the time.#my knee doesn't bother me anymore from that snowboarding mishap#my wrist doesn't bother me nearly as much from that tweak i never got checked out#I've forgiven myself for that thing i felt shame about#and I've forgiven people i thought i could never forgive#getting older is so so so so great and so wonderful#worth sticking around for and worth looking forward to#I'm in my feels bc my birthday is coming up haha it always makes me feel reflective about things

Taking A Close Look At The Science Behind Infrared Saunas - Technology Org
Infrared saunas have become increasingly popular in Australia in recent years. But what exactly are they, and what are the scientific explanations behind their touted health benefits? Let’s take a close look at the science behind infrared saunas.
How Infrared Saunas Work
Unlike traditional saunas which use heat to warm the air, infrared saunas use light waves to directly heat your body. The saunas contain infrared heaters that emit infrared radiation. Infrared rays have longer wavelengths than visible light, meaning they penetrate deeper into the skin.
When absorbed by the body, the infrared rays warm up your body directly rather than just heating the air around you. This allows infrared saunas to operate at lower temperatures (typically 50-60°C) compared to regular saunas (usually around 80-100°C). The lower operating temperature makes infrared saunas more comfortable to sit in for longer periods.
Infrared wavelengths are divided into three categories:
Near infrared – Near infrared wavelengths range from 700nm to 1400nm. Near infrared radiation has the lowest energy and penetrates the least deeply into the skin, only about 3-4mm. However, it does penetrate deeper than visible light. Near infrared wavelengths interact with chromophores in the skin, particularly melanin. This means near infrared can help increase skin pigmentation and reduce the appearance of sun spots and scars.
Mid infrared – Mid infrared wavelengths range from 1400nm to 3000nm. Mid infrared penetrates deeper into the skin, around 5-6mm. At these depths, mid infrared rays interact with water molecules in the skin. This can help stimulate collagen production and cell renewal. Mid infrared also interacts with blood vessels just under the skin, causing localized dilation to increase blood flow.
Far infrared – Far infrared wavelengths range from 3000nm to 10000nm. Of the three categories, far infrared penetrates by far the deepest – up to 2 inches into the skin. At these depths, far infrared radiation interacts with blood vessels, muscles, ligaments and other subcutaneous tissues. This leads to the dilation of blood vessels and increased blood flow, similar to exercise. Far infrared also interacts with water molecules deep in the skin, producing a thermal effect that leads to profuse sweating.
Infrared saunas in Melbourne mainly use far infrared wavelengths, which have the deepest tissue penetration. The far infrared waves are absorbed by the skin and produce numerous therapeutic effects.
Increased Blood Flow
Multiple studies have shown that infrared sauna use causes an increase in blood flow similar to moderate exercise. When your body is exposed to infrared heat, your blood vessels expand and dilate to increase blood flow, which improves circulation and provides muscles and organs with more oxygen and nutrients. The enhanced blood flow during the sauna session also helps remove metabolic waste products.
Lower Blood Pressure
Multiple studies have shown that infrared sauna therapy can help lower blood pressure in those with hypertension. The infrared heat causes blood vessels to expand and increase blood flow. This increased blood flow leads to an immediate reduction in blood pressure that can last for up to an hour after you finish your sauna session. With regular use over time, the sauna can help lower baseline blood pressure values.
Relaxation
The soothing infrared heat helps relax the body and relieve tension in the muscles. Infrared rays are also thought to have a calming effect on the mind. Many people report emerging from an infrared sauna feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. This relaxation response can be very beneficial for both the body and mind.
Improved Skin Health
The deep heating effects of infrared rays have been shown to encourage the production of collagen in the skin. Collagen helps reduce the signs of aging. Regular use of an infrared sauna can help improve the appearance of the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The saunas may also improve inflammatory skin conditions like acne and eczema.
Pain Relief
Infrared saunas can provide natural pain relief in several ways. Firstly, the heat relaxes muscles and relieves muscle aches and pains. Secondly, the dilation of blood vessels increases circulation which speeds up the body’s natural healing processes and delivery of pain-relieving endorphins. Lastly, the endorphins released act as natural painkillers. People with chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis often report reduced pain levels after using infrared saunas regularly.
Weight Loss
Due to the intense sweating experienced in infrared saunas, they have been marketed for weight loss purposes. However, researchers have found that the elevation in heart rate during infrared sauna use only represents a moderate level of exertion. This means that while there is a temporary increase in metabolic rate, the overall number of calories burned is fairly low. Regular infrared sauna sessions may contribute slightly to weight loss but are not a replacement for regular exercise and a healthy diet.
Overall, when used safely and correctly, infrared saunas can provide some great therapeutic health benefits. But as with any new health therapy, make sure to do your own research and consult your GP if you have any concerns.

❝ DELICATE ❞ — kageyama tobio
cw: gn!reader, fluff, depictions of eczema/skin issues, insecurity, hurt/comfort, established relationship, extremely self-indulgent | wc: 507
it’s so itchy.
the sensation of your nails dragging against the bumpy and dry flaking skin scratching an itch like no other, the satisfaction of peeling a scab so great until it stings. and bleeds. and then all of a sudden showering hurts—
“i can hear you scratching.” tobio calls out from the kitchen as he walks out with a tall glass of water and a bowl of berries, setting it down on the coffee table and sinking down on the plush couch next to you.
your hand pauses in it's movements for barely a minute before going back to it's bad habit, words dragging out in a whine when you hear him let out a tch in disapproval, "i can't help it."
“i know, but you gotta stop it.” he chides, grabbing your hand and lacing your fingers together, thumb rubbing soothing circles to distract you and effectively put a stop to your scratching. "picking at it isn't going to make it better."
hands still clasped together, he leans off to the side and blindly pats around the side table, feeling around for the small tube of healing ointment sitting in the black ceramic cat trinket dish (obviously you picked it out, saying it looked just like him).
coming back to you, he wraps his arm around your frame and pulls you closer, squeezing a pea sized amount of ointment on his fingertip and gently spreading it across your broken skin, raw and red from your incessant assault. it’s your fault really for letting it get this bad, but you hiss at the sting anyway, never quite getting used to the burn no matter how many times this has happened.
it’s always been something you struggle with, not just the itch but also accepting the way the patches looked. it’s ugly, and discoloured, the splotches unsightly, and seeing it in the mirror everyday comes with a matching frown. exposing the affected skin doesn’t come easy for you, avoiding it as much as possible and hiding it behind a layer of fabric where you can, but some materials make it itch even more, feeling helpless and insecure as you bare it to the world.
“almost done.” he mumbles, catching you stare off dejectedly from the corner of his eye.
tobio doesn’t need to pay a penny for your thoughts to know you’re feeling down about it again, your silence says a lot. you’ve been together long enough that he can mostly tell what you’re thinking from just your body language and facial expressions, you’ve always been an open book and wore your heart on your sleeve around him after all. he learned to pick up on your cues and subtleties with time, the same way you’ve slowly softened his edges.
a lingering kiss to your temple leads you out of the dense forest of your thoughts like a light in the darkness, his fingers gently holding your chin up to look into his softened, doting eyes.
“i love every part of you.”
and don’t you forget it.

What would the guys think of a darling with pretty severe eczema? 👀
OH MY GOD, I used to have severe eczema when I was in High school! So thank you anon for giving me a chance to heal my inner teenage self 😌
Also since eczema can be caused by different things, I tried my best to look for info on the internet while still taking inspiration from my own experience
CW: Yandere behaviors, implication of hurting people (not reader)

Vincent
🧪 At first he is going to think that your skin went in contact with some of the toxic chemicals laying around his lab… he is a scientist not a health doctor ok, so you’ll have to explain it to him.
🧪 After he understands your situation, whatever is causing your eczema, he is going to find a way to treat it permanently! You don’t mind him sacrificing some test subjects, right? How about the guy that was rude to you last week?
🧪 If he catches you mindlessly scratching at your skin too many times , he’s going to give you special mittens that can’t be taken off. He just can’t always keep an eye on you, so please don’t be mad at him for it.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Esteban
📈 Esteban is going to be very overbearing about it, like he’ll pester you everyday if you don’t take care of your skin condition. If you want him to shut up, you'll have to be diligent about doing your treatments, because if you hit him with the “You’re not my mom/dad” he’ll sulk until you apologize.
📈 If your eczema is on your arms or somewhere else that could be accidentally rubbed against while cuddling, Esteban will make it a point to wear clothes that won’t irritate your skin.
📈 (I don’t know if that would make things worse, so sorry in advance if yes) When you show skin, if it’s possible and makes you feel better, he’ll try to kiss where your eczema is. He just wants to show that he loves every part of you, no matter what.
📈 Esteban hit me to be the type to have a small spray bottle filled with water, so every time he catches you scratching your skin he’ll spray you like a disobedient cat.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Atlas
💿 Having been created to serve humans, he would instantly know how to treat your eczema and will make it his duty. So he’s going to give you all the tips possible to make it less severe.
💿 He’ll still ask you to go see a professional though, if you didn’t already, and even go as far to book an appointment for you.
💿 If you use corticosteroid ointment or a moisturizing cream, don’t even think about skipping these treatments. Atlas will literally set up internal alarms to notify when it's time for you to put some on and if you complain he'll just do it for you.
💿 You’re going to feel like you have your own personal doctor, except that doctor lives with you 24/7 and is secretly obsessed with you.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Martin
🪓 Martin doesn’t know a lot about that skin condition, but if you want to, he is going to try to help you as best as he can.
🪓 First thing first, he’ll ask the elders if they have any recipe for homemade moisturizing cream or something similar and he’ll ask the town's doctor if he can be of any help.
🪓 Living in a post-apocalypse world makes access to certain treatments more difficult, but don’t worry he’ll go wherever and do whatever it takes to secure it for you. He needs to make a trip that will take him two weeks by foot? Consider it done.
🪓 He already observes you all the time, so he would make it a habit to gently take your hand in his when you scratch your skin or maybe just rub your back to signal to you that you are doing it.

like, don’t get me wrong, i far prefer the side effects of synthetic progesterone to developing ovarian cysts (which is actually countered more by the ethinyl estradiol iirc… but getting estrogen without a progesterone would require an actual PCOS diagnosis and i’d have to go off the pill and let myself grow a bunch of cysts and wait several months after the continuous bleeding starts for the ultrasound appointment to confirm them and… no thanks) and just not having a period rather than cramming the whole cycle’s worth of PMDD into like 5 days and then having a 2 day long period…
but ffs insurance won’t cover any type of birth control with a semi-active off week for continuous use… and they don’t MAKE the newer (BETTER) synthetic progesterones with 7 days of pure sugar pills (for valid reasons) and they don’t make ANY birth control packs without an off week (to appease the catholic church — although there are debatably valid medical reasons to have an off-week if you’re using oral contraceptives as, well, contraceptives… they’re just kind of irrelevant because they HAD to include the off week as a compromise with the catholic church) SO i’m stuck with shitty synthetic progesterone that has convinced my pelvis as well as my ovaries that i’m already pregnant and my SI joints need to be even MORE flexible than usual to prepare for the fetus that is not and will never be developing in my inhospitable womb
there are in fact both advantages and disadvantages that come with continuous oral contraceptive use
#like again i genuinely do prefer constant low grade pain to feeling fucking insane and getting a bunch of cystic acne once a month#the acne seems silly to mention especially because i still get acne#but anyone who has had cystic acne knows it’s worse than regular acne#and mine admittedly could be a lot worse like it has never been my whole face like some people get#thankfully… i have cousins on both sides who genuinely medically needed accutane bc of the chronic pain from their severe cystic acne#but i also inherited the Fucked Up Collagen Disorder so breaking out every 3 weeks means my skin is never clear#because for some reason cystic acne takes longer to heal#and my skin has this whole fucked up healing process of scabbing over again and again#until eventually what was once a pimple just turns into a weird patch of like. fucking eczema instead?#i have just let shit heal without putting ANYTHING on it to see if products were causing that but nope that’s just how my skin works#ramble

Herb Spotlight: Thyme
History & Origins
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a perennial herb that has been cherished for its culinary, medicinal, and spiritual properties for thousands of years. Originating from the Mediterranean region, thyme was used by the ancient Egyptians for embalming, while the Greeks and Romans valued it for its antiseptic properties and burned it as incense in temples to purify spaces.
The name "thyme" is believed to come from the Greek word "thymos," meaning courage or strength. Roman soldiers would bathe in thyme-infused water to gain bravery before battles. In the Middle Ages, it was also tucked under pillows to ward off nightmares and given to knights and warriors as a symbol of courage.
Where & How to Grow Thyme
Thyme is a resilient, sun-loving herb that thrives in well-drained soil and can be grown both indoors and outdoors.
Climate: Thyme prefers warm, sunny climates with at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. It's drought-tolerant and does well in zones 5-9.
Soil: Grows best in well-drained, sandy soil with a slightly alkaline pH. Avoid overwatering, as thyme doesn't tolerate soggy soil.
Growing from seeds: Start thyme seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, or plant cuttings directly in the garden in spring or early summer. Thyme can also be propagated easily by root division.
Spacing: Plant thyme about 12 inches apart in a sunny location. It can also be grown in pots or as a ground cover, as it only grows to about 6-12 inches tall.
Harvesting: Harvest thyme when the plants are dry, preferably in the morning, by cutting sprigs just before the flowers bloom. The leaves can be used fresh or dried for later use.
Health Benefits
Thyme offers numerous medicinal benefits when used orally or topically.
Oral Uses:
Respiratory support: Thyme is a natural expectorant, helping to clear mucus and ease symptoms of coughs, colds, bronchitis, and sore throats. Drinking thyme tea or using thyme honey is particularly effective.
Antimicrobial properties: Thyme contains thymol, an essential oil with antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. It helps fight infections and boost the immune system.
Digestive aid: Thyme is excellent for relieving indigestion, bloating, and gas. It can also help regulate gut bacteria and support digestive health.
Antioxidant support: Rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, thyme helps reduce oxidative stress, supporting overall wellness and aging.
Topical Uses:
Skin health: Thyme can be used as a natural antiseptic for treating wounds, cuts, and infections. It also helps soothe skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and fungal infections due to its antimicrobial properties.
Anti-inflammatory: When applied topically, thyme can reduce inflammation and swelling, making it useful for treating skin irritations or minor burns.
Hair growth: Thyme oil is often used in natural hair care products for stimulating hair growth and treating dandruff due to its antimicrobial properties.
Magical Properties
Thyme has long been associated with purification, protection, and courage in magical practices.
Purification: Thyme is used in cleansing rituals, either burned as incense or added to baths to cleanse one's aura or energy field. It is believed to purify spaces, removing negative energies or spirits.
Protection: Thyme is often carried or placed in doorways for protection from harm or ill intentions. It can also be worn as a charm to ward off negative energies and bad dreams.
Courage & Strength: Thyme is associated with bravery. In magical workings, it’s used to summon strength and courage, especially when facing difficult situations or challenges. It can be carried as a talisman or burned before spell work to empower the caster.
Healing: Thyme is often used in spells related to healing, vitality, and renewal. It's added to healing potions, incense, and sachets to promote physical and emotional recovery.
Love & Attraction: In love magic, thyme is believed to attract love and affection. It’s often included in love sachets, charms, or baths to draw positive relationships and strengthen existing ones.
Using Thyme in Your Practice
Thyme tea: Brewed as tea, thyme can be sipped to promote healing, clear the mind, and fortify the spirit before rituals.
Burning thyme: Burn dried thyme as an offering to deities, or use the smoke to cleanse and purify spaces, objects, or yourself.
Thyme oil: Dilute thyme essential oil in a carrier oil and use it in healing rituals or anointing candles to promote health and protection.
Thyme is a versatile herb with deep roots in history, known for its medicinal, culinary, and magical uses. Whether you're growing it in your garden or using it in your magical practice, thyme offers powerful healing, protective, and purifying qualities that make it a must-have in any herbalist's or witch’s collection.

Apples, Apple tree. [French Folks Traditions]
General :
At the beginning of the 17th century H. Boguet speaks of cases of witchcraft in which demons are hidden in apples.
In the Norman Bocage, it is said that witches are able to make apple juice come out of an apple tree just by sticking their knife in it.
Some farmers in Brittany carefully keep in a box the twin apples they found during the year, with the link that unites them on the branch. When the storm approaches, observing these two fruits (whether or not they move, and in what way) will help determine the outcome of the storm and whether conjuring rites should be performed.
Love Divinations :
Eating an apple in front of your mirror allows you to get married within the year if you see a star the following morning around 9 or 10am.
If you manage to peel your apple in one piece, without breaking the skin, and to turn it 7 times without breaking it above your head, the peel then thrown on the ground will give the first letter of the first name of the chosen one.
We consult fate by throwing pips into the air to see how they fall. The pointed end of the pip will always give the direction.
Many rites in which it involves eating half of an apple in the evening before going to bed, while saying out loud something like : "Apple! Widow!", then placing the other half under her pillow and we sleep on it. The next day will give us the name of our future husband.
Magic Medicine :
Apples are often very helpful with atopic dermatitis (eczema, warts, hives, etc.) In Marseille we put a pippin apple and some meat in a bag which we throw into the port without being seen.
We can also (Dauphiné) bury an apple under a walnut tree, asking it to take away evil from us.
In Normandy we rub 1/2 apple on the sore then throw it in a pile of manure.
Elsewhere, you will have to cut the apple while it is still on the tree and ask it for healing.
In Provence you have to rub the apple quarter in coarse salt, then rub on the diseased skin until there is no fruit left and only the skin.
To avoid toothache, you should have an apple in your pocket during Christmas midnight mass and eat it when you get home.
It is said that if we attach a circle of previously blessed apples around the cross of a cemetery, for a whole night, each apple will then have the virtue of preventing fever.

About medicine in witchcraft: Health spells, Professional Healers and Unprofessional scammers (And two healing spells from me)
Lately I have been seeing a dangerous amount of medical dangerous videos in our usual witchy spaces (specially in Instagram, since I refuse to use TikTok) and that bring me here in one of my long rants who nobody really cares. But, as a healer with lot of medical background, I have to.
First, for the love of your deity, don’t take these damn vids seriously. I’m not a doctor but I know enough that a huge ton of what they put there is medical misinformation dressed as mystical powers.
I’m not asking you to become a doctor, but at least remember: Physical symptoms are NEVER caused by one single illness, and you HAVE to rule out all the possible physical illness before even consider it a symptom of your superpowers.
Yes, some minor things like a random ear ringing or a random tingle on your hand doesn’t need you to run to ER, but at least THINK about mundane causes to it.
Your ear ring? Are you using headphones a lot? Loud music? You shower and water entered on your ear? You are taking meds? Stress? Your neck is stiff and affecting your inner ear? You are neurodivergent?
Your hand tingle? Is the same hand in what you use your phone 20 hours at day? You sleep over that arm? Your shoulder is stiff? You use a mousse a lot? You practice a sport and the nerves are tired? Did you drink coffee or Red Bulls?
And I’m not even mention REAL illnesses, this is just a bunch of mundane causes! So how you dare to believe in more deeper topics of spiritual stuffs, if you have zero critical thinking in something so mundane and basic as your own body? How you plan to be an efficient witch if you don’t even doubt about these things? How you even dare to talk about your deity if you believe anything as a sign?
An advanced witch bases their path in three big needs:
Need of study (Books or google, spend months or YEARS reading and learning)
Need of critical thinking (Think, think and ask, be curious and compare data, question it)
Need of wise skepticism (Don’t fall into the “The government want me to believe this but I’m smarter” or “Vaccines do harm, people don’t need calcium, there is brick’s dust on ketchup” kind of mindset (Yes, these are things I heard). That’s not skepticism, that’s being a Facebook Boomer Mom. Skepticism is question everything and to always be suspicious, but is neither “don’t believe in anything because I’m so smart that I can see the lies”.
And healers, my beloved healers. As one, I have to say it on the most real way: LEARN SOME MEDICINE. Specially before to do public claiming that can really hurt others.
Why learn medicine? Because as happened once… A lovely lady did a spell to lose weight. She got gastroenteritis and spent a week on the bathroom. She lost weight? Yes. In a dangerous unhealthy way? Yes. She recovers her weight back after go to the doc? Absolutely.
The body is a fine machine, a ton of process, hormones, parts, that you will always ignore and omit.
Another big mistake: “Spell to Boost my Metabolism”. Do you even know what a metabolism is? What it does? Do you even know that it has three main functions of metabolism? (Conversion of the energy to run cellular processes; conversion to building block of proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates; and the elimination of metabolic wastes). When you “boost your metabolism”, what you are aiming to do? You even know what your body need of these three…
“Spell to boost my Immune System”… Again, what part? Do you even know that your immune system is “slow” or it is just working against an illness as it should? (Reaction is not the same than an immunodeficiency) Are you aware that your body can be doing great and you will be pushing to get an overactive immune system? (And getting Asthma, Eczema, Hay fever, Food allergy and any other kind of allergy, Lupus, Type 1 Diabetes, Inflammatory bowel disease, Celiac, etc.).
Please, if you use “detox spell” in any way, just stop. Period.
If you are not willing to spend a couple of weeks at least in the damn Wikipedia, or you are in a rush, at least aim big and general, do a classic “Health/Healing spell”, that is focused on that, bring health where is needed. “My body gets healthier. My body gets health where is needed” It can’t go wrong, since you purposely don’t specify where or which part, you just do a “Somewhere I need it, and since I can’t know it, the Cosmos may know it and aid me”. If you need spells to focus a healing in a body part, maybe you need a doc, not a spell…. (Get a doc. If is so simple to not need a doc, then your body will do it without need a spell anyway)
You can also do the same with Physical Strength Spells (again aiming to boost what you don’t know what it needs to be boosted and avoiding to boost something that it DOESN’T NEED IT).
And if you are a Healer who really want to have a 90% of effectiveness on focalized and specialized healing spells, then time to study. You will need to know about hormones, chemicals, physical process, all the systems, nerves, bones, nutrition, meds… And pretty much being able to discuss with you client (to put in a way) about literally all their medical history.
And a gently offer to anyone who actually read all this shit, I give a couple of “simple” ideas for you all:
Regeneration Spell: Just a Healing spell, aimed to “attack” where is needed, but it focusses in a cellular level. General Healing spells usually are so general that include things like disposal of waste, mineral absorption, water absorption, digestion, hair growing, skin growing, muscle develop, and pretty much EVERYTHING that’s happening on your body right now, even including the gut bacteria. A Regeneration Spell will focus in each single cell of your body, from skin to bone, to neurons, to T Cells from your immune system. All. Something that your body do (except with the neurons) but that get slower with the age. This spell focus on restores damaged or missing cells to full function (you can help it to happen better with a good balanced diet, some basic exercise, proper sleep, and trying to reduce stress)
Big warning. BE SPECIFIC “My cells will get regenerated where my body need it to be healthy and in full function” or something like that. Why SO specific if the healing spells are general? Because Cancer.
Yes. Cancer. A cancerous tumor is failed cell of your own body. Our beloved bodies kill around six infected or cancer cells each DAY. Eventually (if you live enough or if your immune system gets weak) one of them will grow your body be on troubles. If you do a regeneration spell without that proper aim, you will also help to any cancer cell to regenerate, hence you can cause you a HUGE DEAL in a future. Will not happen 100% of the cases, many of these tumors can be not cancerous (benign) yet give you problems.
How do the spell? Just as any healing spell. Do your way.
Homeostasis Spell: What’s is homeostasis? Is the condition of optimal functioning for the organism, a state of steady internal physical and chemical conditions maintained by living systems. Is a stable self-regulated process of equilibrium between interdependent elements. In simple words, is the perfect state of full pure health of your body. Is a healing spell without the “but”.
What it affects? ALL in the most basic small internal way. Body temperature, fluid balance, the pH of extracellular fluid, the concentrations of ions, blood sugar, oxygen, hormones, etc. If the body do it properly, then is balanced, in an optimal functioning, hence healing itself without big issues.
This spell helps specially (or BOOST) the body on regulate itself despite the many changes in the environment, diet, or level of activity. In this case, you don’t need to be specific, since homeostasis seek for health naturally. Do your regular healing spell but like “My body reach homeostasis”.
So. Rant and all made, I think is time for me to shut up. See you around, and check if you need drink water, sleep, rest, stretch, food, meds or hygiene!

It's eczema flare up season aka the season to slather gummy concoctions on my knuckles, care for my inner child and gently ask why she was trying to claw her way out of our skin
#the reason was she was so freaking itchy#but also. you know#i was a dysphoric kid#the idea that that's related to the eczema is a huge stretch#but i think about it sometimes#specifically with how i felt like skin care was too feminine for me#i liked having rough and calloused skin#now I'd rather not have bloody knuckles#(i never was much of a fighter)#it's time to heal#time for soft and smooth hands#i hope she can feel comfortable in our skin now

Dazai w/ Eczema HCs
Half joke HC that Dazai has eczema (because I do) and that's one of the other resons why he wears bandages so it won't get irritated and he won't touch it and also to hide the scars from where he scratched himself badly.
I know he would too, seeing as he has no self care/preservation. It's a wonder that his arm hasn't gotten mega infected (I know the river water and probably his dorm too aren't clean). Maybe he even uses it as a kind of self harm 🥺!
He has a love-hate relationship with it because the pain and itching sensation is kind of grounding when he feels like he's disassosiating or outside of himself. It reminds him that he's here and real . . . but it's also painful af so 🙁.
It comes and goes, always there but much worse at times. Extreme cold and hot weather make it worse, as does his poor diet and skin care (someone pls save him).
It's bad in his elbow crease and that's a reason he hates paperwork because he has to bend his elbows for entended periods of time to type and write.
Mori helped him get treatments when he was in the PM but he's a lil stubborn self harming shit and sometimes didn't take them. Then when he was off on his own he didn't have anything at all and was SUFFERING(TM).
He mostly hides it very well but Kunikida, being his work partner, and having a desk across from his , notices that something is up because his arms are so stiff. Kunikida may not like him all that much, but he isn't a monster and wishes he could help his coworker whoes in pain, also he hopes it would increase Dazai's productivity (it wouldn't, Dazai's just lazy)
Yosano can't heal him w/ her gift but she is a doctor ao she tries to help however she can, even forcing him to use lotions and creams, but she can't be there all the time so he still falls through the cracks. It's better than before though.
One time when it was really bad Dazai was scatching his arm though so much the skin opened even under the bandages and started to bleed through and the ADA, mainly Atsushi were horrified. Atsushi thought he cut himself and go scared so Dazai had to comfort him and he felt guilty for making his mentee so upset. Maybe he'll try to do betetr, but it's hard.
(sorry this got so long. I just had this thought and it went further as I was typing.)
It's actually so anoying and painful though, so as intresting as that would be I would feel exteremly bad, like bro's already going throiugh so much he doesn't need that as well.
(This HC is based of my personal experience with eczema and how it feels and how I think Dazai would deal with it so no judgement if you disagree)

🌹Ice's Lazy Loc Wash Routine🌹
I wanna preface this with two very important things:
I do not retwist my own locs! It would take far longer if I did. I have the tools and the means, and I know how to do it. I just hate doing it 🤣. It takes patience and arm strength and I lack the will. When I have the money I just schedule a retwist. Usually about every three months (which is longer than usual)
This is the way EYE do it! This is one experience out of countless, so don't assume my way is THEE way. There are people that will probably scream at me through the screen. But alas... It is "lazy" Loc wash day for a reason. And I do still care for my hair, and it's healthy and thriving for seven years (as of this Wednesday) 👍🏾
Okay? Okay.
Washing
The misconception about locs is that they are dirty. They're no "dirtier" than any other type of hair, nor do they require dirt to lock. That's a lie, and a racist one at that.
That being said, locs will end up holding the weight of life lol. Skin, sweat, dust, pollen, smells (and for me, bc I have dermatitis, scabs); all those things will end up weighing your locs down. Some people will do an Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda wash to detox their locs.
However, I use this!
Essentially it's water, apple cider vinegar, orange peel, and some essential oils in a spray bottle, so I can spray it directly on my scalp and locs and massage it in deeply. Let it sit for a bit. Because I only wash my hair every 2 weeks or so, it's fine, but I wouldn't do this if I was washing it more frequently as it could mess up my scalp pH. Again, I have painful dermatitis, so it helps me get closer to my problem spots. Does it burn? Yes. It's working 👍🏾
Then I use this soap bar, which has things like coconut oil, aloe vera, eucalyptus, tea tree, almond, lemongrass, and more in it to scrub my scalp. You're supposed to rub it into your hands and scrub it in, so naturally I put the bar directly on my scalp. Be better than me. Smells AMAZING though and leaves my scalp clearer than it has ever been.
Medicated Shampoo
I use a medicated shampoo last. While that sits, I bathe 👍🏾 Bathe well, too 👍🏾 Please make sure your characters are bathing when they wash their hair 👍🏾
Once I'm done, I gently pull my locs apart (they WILL start tangling at the root IMMEDIATELY), then I wrap my hair in a beach towel. You're supposed to use t shirts because they're softer on curls, but I don't like water dripping on me while I get dressed. I put on easy to wear clothing. Tits loose clothing. I gotta be comfortable.
Medication
So if you know me, this is something I complain about ALL THE TIME. And it's how dermatology does NOT cater to Black patients! Even my shampoo says "for 30 days, wash every night". I'm Black with locs. My shampoos last for months bc that is impossible without me sacrificing my entire night, every night. Even if I had an Afro, we're still not supposed to wash our hair every night for fear of stripping the natural oils.
So I have to DEMAND I be given a medicated liquid solution. No petroleum based products!! A solution is the easiest way to reach my scalp. Does it burn? Yes. It's working. 👍🏾
So if your character has a skin issue (dermatitis, psoriasis, exzema excema eczema) on the scalp... Solutions are the easy way to go.
Moisturizing
I promise this isn't free ads lmao, I just happen to be experimenting with this company and I like what I've seen so far. This is a real lite oil spray with rose water and essential oils, and it cools my scalp.
Aloe Vera, the goddess of healing. Also cools my scalp and addresses those burning, pink spots from my dermatitis.
Drying
Drying depends on the length and thickness of your locs, and the temperature. Mine are shoulder length, pencil thick. Today I dried at real high heat (unintentionally) and it only took about an hour. At a lesser, safer heat, about two. This hair dryer bag is LIFE fr.
Conclusion
If I don't have anywhere else to go (and I don't, bc I plan my loc wash days like this) I spray my scalp with oil one more time, put on my loc sock, and then I'm done 👍🏾
Total time today: about two hours. Normally 3 at a lower dry temp. Not bad at all.

I have a bad habit of scratching and picking at my skin because of eczema, anxiety and doing it to give my hands something to do (mostly unconsciously). I often do it in my sleep then wake up looking like I got beat up by a sleep paralysis demon. As you can imagine I have a few scars from that and most scars come from bleeding.
barbatos would be frustrated and concerned. Like why are you hurting yourself? Put your ointment on now.
Diavolo wouldn't be much help but I'm guessing he can smell blood like most demons so when I do that it's like oh, no! The human hurt themselves! Idk, what do you think?
-bows for barb
I think Barbatos, in his practicality, would probably try to find a way to help prevent it. Like maybe he makes you wear gloves while you sleep lol. He'd at least try it. Or maybe find some kind of spell to help with it?
I think he'd definitely be concerned, but he also strikes me as solution oriented. So I think he'd try to find a way to help. And when you do end up bleeding, he would likely apply healing ointment himself. He likes to take care of people, so I think that would be how he would react.
Diavolo would absolutely be worried, but I see him just asking Barbatos what to do. I always see him as a little bit naive about such things - like he wouldn't know the best course of action to help with it, but he's sure Barbatos does!
Though I would see him also applying the ointment himself because he would be worried about you. Might over worry too because he's not sure how bad it really is, but in his mind humans are just generally fragile.
I think you'd have two worried demons on your hands lol.
