And afterward, they insisted she dress herself in girl's things, brown woolen stockings and a light linen shift, and over that a light green gown with acorns embroidered all over the bodice in brown thread, and more acorns bordering the hem.

YES YES THANK YOU~ I wanted to explore a second-person fic, just because it's not the tense I ever really use, and people seem to enjoy it here? AND, I have a lil fun idea regarding Aegon ascending to the throne. My main thesis of this world is wanting way more Ladies at court in the Red Keep, and I don't think those late teens/young adults would have been called on to pledge their loyalty to The Greens or get hanged, buuuut they could still be used as leverage.

In my story, when Vissy T dies, Aegon kidnaps 10ish ladies, one from each of the Realms/territories, who are staying at the Keep. Aegon brings them all to the Great Sept and marries each of them in the tradition of King Maegor i Targaryen. Aegon gets a harem, some ladies are so so excited to be princesses, some are fine with the prospect of their husband rarely visiting them because he has so many wives, and the rest are terrified and trying to escape. All fun good times. LOL

Hostella is one of those potential wives, from the Riverlands! So, I just have a bunch of family history on her LOL House Smallwood from the Riverlands, their crest is acorns on a field of yellow. About 50 years ago, Lord Smallwood served as Hand of the King to Jaehaerys I Targaryen and was dismissed not long after for being incompetent. That shame as followed the House ever since. Currently, the house is in disarray. After being dismissed by King Jaehaerys, Lord Smallwood lost much interest in life and let the house fall from grace. The Current Lord Smallwood, Hostella's father, isn't much better. To get her to the capitol, Hostella's elder brother is a Maester in King's Landing, he mostly works with the poor and smallfolk, doing "lesser" studies the other Maesters don't value such, their Maester chapter is underfunded and overworked. Hostella's brother fell gravely ill and is being treated in the Red Keep, Hostella visited the Red Keep to see her brother near the time of Viserys's death, and is very much in the wrong place at the right time. I don't have much in the way of personality for her, or personal backstory. So, it'll be fun to explore what role she could fill in the larger story~

arya costume designs!! ......yeah i ended up doing a lot, including a couple based off of actual book descriptions, and i even included an older model! but really i am quite happy with how these turned out. most of these are based loosely off of canon (aside from the older ones) but i took some creative liberties

I have been crowdfunding for two full months now, and have managed to raise $4100 total! That is absolutely amazing, and never could have happened without the support of everyone on Tumblr. Thank you so much to everyone continuing to share my post, and an especially big thank you to those who donated. I have just under $3,000 in direct debt currently, and I have until December 1 to find a new place to live, regardless of if I have been placed by BC Housing into housing whose rent is geared to my disability income. Vancouver rents are about $2,000/month for 1 bedroom, I don't have a prayer of keeping a roof over my head without donations.

So that's where I am now, to be clear, the money not spent directly on debt was spent on food, monthly bills, and transit. Even so, I ended up needing to take out payday loans to get through this month, and am out of funds for now.

I have more appointments and transit costs than ever right now, and with time running out to clear my debts before I'm on my own I'm really feeling the strain. There is much more information on the gofundme page, I also, of course, have my original post, which I am retiring because it seems to have lost traction now.

I'd appreciate anything anyone has to offer, from $1-$5 on paypal, to $5+ on gofundme, literally ANYTHING helps. I feel abandoned and alone and I don't know what to do other than beg the public for help. Please.

some people (you know who) do their best effort to no remember at all or completely omit arya's canon reaction when she learned about joffrey's death:

she's not happy about it and she doesn't feel vindicated at all, arya understands now that nothing will bring back her brother. pursuing revenge won't make her feel whole once again. and that's the point that most dumbasses miss completely. arya is not fueled by revenge. sure, she made a list long ago, but it was when she was grieving her father's death and she didn't knew how to deal with all those feelings in a better way.

arya only ends up in the house of black and white, because she does not have anywhere else to go, she wanted to go back to jon, but it wasn't possible and all she had left was the coin jaqen h'ghar had given her. she considered her options before making her choice, thinking about how she could go back to acorn hall with lady smallwood, but she discards the idea pretty quickly because she doesn't think herself able to find the path to acorn hall again, she could go out of her way to found hot pie at sharna's inn or maybe meet with the bwb again, but that would be stupid, because the brotherhood only wanted her for the possibility of ransom her name offered and because the boys she thought were her friends, decided to abandon her at the first chance they got, meaning in her mind that they don't want her around anymore. she's completely alone with nowhere to go and the only thing that could bring a little of hope back to her life is, you guessed, the damn coin.

so saying that arya is fueled by revenge in the same way her mother's ghost/zombie (?) seems to be, is just fucking untruthful.

And also, her plan throughout all of ASoS was to get to Riverrun, until she found out her mother and brother were at the Twins and then she wanted to go there. After they were slaughtered, she thought about finding Lady Smallwood and Acorn Hall, but didn't know the way. She thought about being an outlaw with Gendry and the brotherhood without banners, but didn't think they wanted her around anymore since they never rescued her from the Hound. Her next plan was to go to Jon at the Wall. When she found the ship captain at the end of ASoS, she even requested to go to the Wall, but he was heading to Braavos, hence the only reason she ended up at the House of Black and White.

'Arya growing up pretty' doesn't mean she is going to drastically change her appearance or face. Because arya is already pretty. She does have some similarly to the ugly duckling turned swan story. But not exactly. Because arya was never ugly. She has always been pretty. She is just not well groomed. Always covered in dirt and messy hair. But arya already looks (and acts) like lyanna. And lyanna was very beautiful. Only her bullies sansa and jeyne say that shes ugly. But they are bullies who are trying to hurt her so their opinion is not true.

Other than them everyone who meets arya - be it the people that love arya or complete strangers they always call arya pretty. We known that ned and jon has always told arya she is pretty.

She had never cared if she was pretty, even when she was stupid Arya Stark. Only her father had ever called her that. Him, and Jon Snow, sometimes. Her mother used to say she could be pretty if she would just wash and brush her hair and take more care with her dress

Other than them, lady ravella Smallwood tells arya she is pretty

"I'm sorry, my lady." Arya suddenly felt bad for her, and ashamed. "I'm sorry I tore the acorn dress too. It was pretty."

"Yes, child. And so are you. Be brave."

and even in braavos the kindly man tells arya she is pretty. And pretty enough to be a 'courtesan' who are the most beautiful women in the continent.

"You believe this is the only place for you." It was as if he'd heard her thoughts. "You are wrong in that. You would find softer service in the household of some merchant. Or would you sooner be a courtesan, and have songs sung of your beauty?

Also, the kindly man remarks (who is an expert on faces) , that aryas face is a pretty one.

He cupped her chin, turned her head this way and that, nodded. "A pretty one this time, I think. As pretty as your own."

Arya also have ton of swan symbolism.

The Lady that Arya would wear dresses for and act like a Lady(because she was kind to arya) ... is Ravella from House Swann. A "Swann" tells Arya she is pretty!

Add the fact that Arya literally sees 3 swans on a lake and wishes to be a swan. George adds beautiful bird imagery to her chapters like in the Mercy chapter where he compares her legs to bird wings. Even her water dancing is inspired by ballet where Arya actually wears pointy shoes and has the duality of Swan Lake interwoven in her story.

Also the fact that she is the only dark hair/grey eyes of Ned's children (Swan). Born amoung southern looking Tully siblings (ducks). Arya is figuratively born a Swan. So thats definitely important.

The only person who doesn't think arya is pretty is arya herself. Because of all the mocking and bullying has taken a toll on arya and she has internalized it. They why arya herself doesn't think she is pretty. But onlookers has always seen her beauty and commented on that even though arya doesn't believe it. But that is going to change as arya gets older. Also her next phase of training will likely be with a courtesans so she might regain some of her self confidence.
