Seeing hozier tomorrow night and I’m soo excited…

#AHAHAHXHUSKSMXMES #had to change my train tickets so the day flowed a bit better #but my plan is to leave early afternoon #sit down and eat lunch #and checkout the Christmas market in the city the concert is in #before I get ready and go to the hotel #and then I don’t know if I’ll be hungry before the concert but I know there is food being sold at the venue #but it will probably be expensive #but I’m planning on getting to the venue at 17:30 #since I think door open at 17:00 and I have an assigned seat #I probably could get there later but idk if there is merch or not #so I’ll see what there is lol #bit nervous since it’s my first concert but hopefully everything goes to plan :)#gatherrambles #thegapyeardiaries #hozier

i do not understand how there are all these people out there doing Activities every weekend. Like concerts and day trips and hiking and festivals. Who has the time and energy just to plan all this shit, often weeks or months in advance, let alone DO it all??? Not to mention the money.

#like #I mean I know i clearly have Depression and that impacts my energy levels #but just the thought of all the planning involved in some of these things exhausts me?#booking tickets months in advance #sometimes booking accommodation #arranging travel #idk if it's just an issue with my brain #but I really struggle with planning things so far in advance #and it feels like #especially since covid #you NEED to plan everything really far ahead #otherwise it's really expensive or the hotels/trains are all booked up

my friend is mad at me because I won't be able to make to his sister's wedding in my hometown honestly he should try being a girl

#i know how bad he wanted me to come but he should know how BAD i wanted to come as well its just the venue is 1 hour away from home #its literally the other end of city and i don't have a place to stay the night because my bff can't come as well due to her exams #and i had plans to stay at her house #he wants me to stay at a hotel where his college friends are staying he's like what's the big deal honestly you can talk to my dad #also traveling 12 hours round back when there's no holidays and skipping my classes when this goddamn college doesn't give a leave #its too much for a wedding of his sister #and i know its more about all the school friends reuniting and having food together its just an incredible way to bond afresh with everyone #god you do leave people behind all the time #i had to attend one of my friends sister's wedding in jan this year and my train was cancelled because the network was under construction #fuck this honestly who do i even blame

i spent all morning looking for the cheapest ways to get to venice next monday and i feel like i've cracked the code or something i think i got it

#i have to talk it with my mum cause she's the one with the money #but i've seen some good ideas #i have 5 options for now #for some reason flights to and from venice from madrid are expensive as fuck #so i'll have to get to another airport first #here are my options. keep in mind the exam i have to take is on monday 10 at 9:30 am. also ideally i wouldn't want to pay a hotel room #in venice. cause they're expensive as fuck #so let's see. you can also help me out all help is welcomed:#option 1. on sunday i get on a train to barcelona. i sleep in bcn (most likely in a hostel at the airport)#and at 6:35 am there's a flight to venice from bcn for 64€#i arrive at 8:25. i go take the exam #and there's another flight off from venice to bcn at 16:45 for 75€#this is the cheapest flight out of venice i could find so this will always be the flight back #and then i arrive at bcn at 18:45 and have cheap trains to madrid at around 20:00 #option 2. i think this is the most likely one. it's similar to the previous one BUT instead of bcn i'd be flying from alacant #why is this important? because i have family there #more precisely my grandpa's sister. who just had a surgery #and my grandma wanted to go visit her. she was literally talking about this two days ago #so. if my mum agrees to it. she could drive us three to alacant on sunday #we would sleep at my great aunt (?)'s place #and then i'd have a flight at 5:45 to venice for 70€#i'll get to venice at 8:00 and then the going home plan is the same #if she doesn't agree i have trains to alacant for 49€. and even if i wouldn't sleep with family (i have tons in alacant not just #the great aunt) hotels are definitely cheaper than in bcn #option 3. there's a flight from santander on sunday 9 for 14€ !!!!!#i could get on a night bus to santander for 71€ and be there at 6:30. the flight is at 10:10 and i would be in venice at 12:15 #i would have to sleep in venice but i think it would compensate for the flight being so cheap #and then you know the drill with the flight to bcn #option 4. this is also quite likely i think this is the cheapest and my favourite i think.#i could fly on sunday to florence from madrid for 54€. i would arrive at florence at 12:15

8/15/2024!!

japan is being mauled by typhoons right now and it’s rained every single day all week, and then the morning of august 15th was somehow sunny and blisteringly hot. like, out of nowhere, legitimately scorching. it felt dangerous just to be out on the street. very powerful of jin to make that happen

because i was traveling it wasn’t the most kagepro-y 815 i’ve ever spent (it’s actually probably the least i’ve thought about kagepro out of all 11 815s i’ve celebrated). still it’s a special day so i had to do something. most shrines in japan have “traffic safety” blessings as part of the standard lineup alongside good health and good fortune so i bought one from the shrine i visited. which made me giggle. happy 815!!!!!

#i think i’m soooo funny for the traffic safety thing tbh #it’s dumb but i was happy to find a way to think of kagepro within the plans i had that day #as I’m sure is obvious I do still come back to kagepro every now and then. we know it’s not leaving #ily kagepro ily kagepro fandom and ily 815 celebrators!!#happy heat haze day!#815 daze it #personal #it was actually sort of a coincidence that i ended up in morioka #i was gonna meet a friend a little further south but we cancelled bc of the weather #i’d booked a hotel in morioka so the train journey’d be a little shorter the next day and ended up staying 2 nights #somehow putting me in the sunniest weather i’d had all week #ik morioka is having a moment rn because of that nyt article but i have to agree it’s a really nice city

So now work is over I can write a little bit more:

I’m so happy that the Il Sistina Production retruns! Last year I really regretted not going. I’m very privleged to live in Vienna, Austria, not only was I able to see the Vienna Production quite a few times but a lot of other European productions are reachable for me.

I can’t afford Chorzów AND Il Sistina and while Chorzów would be cheaper for me I really want to see Il Sistina A LOT. I fell in love with their Make Up and Costumes and the actors being so active on social media also helps a lot. Also: The homepage got better! They now have an English option and the glitching got better. I’m just waiting for my days off notice to get approved (another big advantage of living in a socialist country like Austria, we have five weeks paid vacation, also I’m joking, Austria ist not a socialist country, we are run by conservatives).

Only thing that kind of bugs me is that I most likely will be going by plane and not by train, but I’m still thinking about it because, if I book now there is a night train for like 30 Euros which is cheap as hell but I will be exhausted.

So much to consider here ...

#personal stuff #that was such a great news #and now I have enough time to plan #flying is very expensive so I propably will suffer through the train ride #the tickets themselves are not that expensive #30-60 Euros #so maybe I can see 2-3 shows #hotel will be the biggest expense I guess #especially if I want to see more shows #to take it all in!#gatti

Went ahead and booked my train and hotel for New York in March. Exciting stuff.

#I am happy. I need this. I miss the city.#but I'm also bummed out. no one wanted to come with me so I'll be alone #there was one person I thought for sure would make it work just to be with me for a couple days. but alas.#it'll be fine tho. I do like traveling alone. it's nice to not have to consider anyone else's opinions when making plans and doing things #but when I'm sitting by myself in a hotel room hundreds or thousands of miles away from my home. I do get into my head too much.#I'll have to bring things to entertain myself so it doesn't happen.#(it always happens)#more than anything I'm worried abt leaving my car alone hours away from my house for 5 days #I looked into renting a car but it's way too much for it to just sit there.#and no one will drive me 😔#if I come back and my windows are busted out I'm getting back on the train and heading further south. fuck it. we starting over

so family rant time... my oldest sister was planning to go on vacations with her two kids and our mom. i mean all is well, oldest sister only went on a week-long vacation with our mom once in her kids' life because they're not the easiest of kids, so now that they're older she feels more confident doing that. until then, i'm like good for them. Now the issue is that middle sister just told oldest sister that she didn't plan childcare for fall break and she's not taking any days off so basically oldest sister has the surprise of having to take care of our nephew until he has to leave to be with his dad for the second half of the break. So our mom was like, let's reschedule the vacations but my oldest sister was very frustrated because why should she have to cancel her plans because middle sister once again has not planned ahead for her kid... so she was like maybe she'll just take nephew along and middle sister will have to come get him wherever they are, whenever it is that she needs to bring him to his dad. and now i'm like... yeah but then there's us who are just left behind and that sucks? it's one thing to have one family unit inviting grandma on vacations but having all the cousins go together and having to tell my kid that grandma and auntie are taking all the kids on vacations except for her? yeah that's not so great.

#and once again i wish i had some money to spare to be able to pay for train tickets/hotel somewhere so we could do something special too #or that i'd already have my driving licence and a car so we could just drive to do cool stuff and not be stuck in our silly little town #anywayyy rant over #because i know that it's not oldest sister's fault that we will be stuck here and us being stuck here shouldn't cancel her plans either #but i know my kid will be disappointed and feel left out of family fun and i don't like it #personal

phlebotomist job failed to mention that their training is two hours away and you have to work for them for a year afterwards -_- no blood for me

#they actually do pay for a hotel for the training but it just like #doesn't end until right before i would need to go back to classes #and they were Very clear that they won't work around a college schedule #idk if i end up dropping out ill keep it in my back pocket bc paid training is always cool #but rn i think it's better for me to take classes next semester than to work full time in smth unrelated to my long-term plans #especially bc they do underpay altho if you wanted that as your longterm career the training may be worth taking the cut until you can quit

Got a ticket for ATEEZ in Copenhagen!! Can’t believe it’s real

#they didn’t have a seating chart so unfortunately I ended up in row 20 but I’ll be seeing them live!!#now I just need to buy the train tickets and the plan is complete #(I’m from north of Stockholm so I’ve got a hotel for 2 nights bc the train journey is 7hrs)#(and that part is complete except for the payment)

thank you french history society uk for creating documents in english telling me how to use and get to the french national archives step by step you're the real legends

#there is one thing more difficult to navigate than university libraries. and it's websites for archives.#and i have to plan a trip to paris while im figuring out how to use the archives at all #and where they are??? apparently all archival material past 1789 is located like an hour by train from the centre of paris lol #curry rambles #IT'S SO EXPENSIVE THO. im stressing so much bc it's going to be so expensive to book any hotel whatsoever.
