Healthcare can be expensive depending on the country you live in, but it is impossible to attain when you live in a country/place where no doctors can perform the procedures that you need. It may be due to lack of equipment, lack of specialized doctors, or no hospitals at all.
I am raising $ for my friend's mother Nabila @nabila60 This is urgent. Her life is at risk RIGHT NOW and we don't know how much longer she can hold on without treatment. If you answered this poll, please reblog it to reach more people. If you have ever had expensive hospital visits, please show sympathy to a mother who will die without treatment. You can save a life! Every donation counts.

December 2024
"Across the country, hospitals are dispensing medications to patients in labor, only to report them to child welfare authorities when they or their newborns test positive for those very same substances on subsequent drug tests, an investigation by The Marshall Project and Reveal has found.
The positive tests are triggered by medications routinely prescribed to millions of birthing patients in the U.S. every year. The drugs include morphine or fentanyl for epidurals or other pain relief, anxiety medications, and two different blood pressure meds prescribed for C-sections.
In a time of increasing surveillance and criminalization of pregnant women since the end of Roe v. Wade, the hospital reports have prompted calls to the police, child welfare investigations and even the removal of children from their parents.
The reporting for this story included interviews with two dozen patients and medical professionals, and a review of hundreds of pages of medical and court records. Some spoke about cases on condition of anonymity because the custody of children is at stake."

Front-line healthcare workers are worried about the upcoming respiratory virus season as hospitals in the Edmonton region are already at capacity. Due to the lack of space at hospitals, they have to turn away patients from other zones that would normally be accepted, according to Dr. Neeja Bakshi. "It's not inconceivable that patients may have to travel all the way from the northern part of the province or the southern part of the province if that's where a space is, which is not ideal for a patient, for families, for providers," Bakshi said. "How long is it sustainable for? Emergency rooms are also "barely" functioning, according to Dr. Steve Fisher. "It's fair to say that our system is on the brink of collapse. Has been for a while," Fisher said.

Hi there! First I wanted to say bless you for feeding us good food with your transformers arts and headcanons, I get excited whenever you post art XD and since I don't think anyone asked but how have you been since you've gotten bitten by something venomous a few days ago? I hope you have been recovering well!!
Thank you jfkkg><
Yeah mmm whatever bit me it wasn’t like…deadly venomous so when I got to the hospital they vaguely said that I need to just ignore the pain and wait. Now I have instant suffering button on my leg lol. On the bright side I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine in a week or something 👍

“Losing my father means losing everything!”
Dr. Sarah Ghalayini, who asked for this video of hers to be shared, is a survivor of the brutal siege on Al Shifa Medical Complex during which she reported, despite her terror, on what was happening. She, like all healthcare workers in Gaza, is the definition of a hero. The support her GoFundMe received seems to have made her father very happy, but just when hope was on the horizon, his life was taken.
This is the pain, the unbearable grief, that Izzr431 inflicts daily. We can’t let ourselves become used to witnessing this grief that our politicians and corporations are complicit in creating. We need to sit with it, and act to stop the source of it.
Go to Dr. Ghalayini’s fundraiser below or @saraaghalayini on IG and show her and her grieving family some love. Go to her profile and post some words of support too.
Repost from @saraaghalayini
I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with hands, but I will feel you in my heart forever Daddy 💔
Actually i was more like forced to make such a video cause all people insisted me to make such a video and know what’s happened 💔
please can you share the video on your story because I hope this video to reach many people to pray for my father, to see our suffering and to support us
For help us link in bio💔

the thing that frustrates me is that people trying to decry m4a or universal healthcare in general keep citing europe and canadian systems of the patient not paying anything and the government footing the bill
but like… in japan and taiwan they have the patient pay part of the bill. it’s heavily subsidised so you only pay like 1000 yen or 300 NTD (about 10 USD) for a visit. drugs are also cheap and there’s usually a pharmacy right next to the clinic where you can pick up the prescription. the whole thing becomes totally covered once you hit a certain age (i want to say 70s?)
like why not even that, if you hate the idea of people having things for free? why not even just significantly reducing the amount of money you need to pay just to access care?? why not take out the profit motive???
