New promotional art of the Fantastic Four just dropped and I have some thoughts.
It looks like the concept art from February was more or less correct all along: Reed really doesn't have any white around the turtleneck. I feel this is a bit of a mistake because he looks almost bare without it. It's kinda the same problem I have with the newest Superman costume not having a wide collar, it just makes the blue feel over dominant. I also notice that along Reed's arms are some tubing that kinda remind me of a slinky, which strangely is what the Fant4stic Reed costume did.
That said, It's a much better suit overall than what we got in previous Fantastic Four movies. I don't even hate the moustache. I understand it's a bit of a controversy that Pedro refuses to shave his stache, but I'll defend it on two grounds:
He really does look weird without it.
It gives him a Howard Hughes/Walt Disney look which I think given the aesthetic of the movie is a pretty inspired take
Sue seems to have the most comic accurate suit, but that's only as far as we see she has a Byrne-style collar. Now this is gonna sound weird, but I think her hair could've been more period accurate. You can tell I have very little bad to say about it because I'm being overly picky about hairstyles, but I felt like she could've had a bob like in the kirby era or something to make it look unambiguously 60s in the way Pedro's moustache does. *shrug*
We already got Johnny's suit from the D23 clip, and I've shared my thoughts on that in a previous post, but Ben's suit leaked a while back which I didn't give my thoughts on, so I will now. I was kinda shocked at how similar his suit was to Johnny's that I immediately assumed everyone would have a uniform... well... uniform. The only difference was the collar curving upward toward the shoulder before going down the arm, as well as a lack of gloves. Otherwise it looked like the same outfit. I feel like The Thing being shirtless is too iconic not to have represented at some point in the movie, maybe he gets battle damaged and it reveals his rock hard abs. I don't mind that he wears a shirt, I just think it's not gonna last very long.
Hopefully we'll get a better look at these suits. Once we do, that's when I start making a new youtube video. I am hesitantly excited about this movie. All I need is ONE good movie!

Hey Callie I'm back, Have you seen the moon knight merch at hot topic? Like it's kinda mid tbh like Disney and the people at HT could have been more creative. Just for a example I would have liked to see the dad cap with the moon on it that Marc has. Or the tarwet plushies maybe something with the goldfish idk it didn't feel like there heart was in it. The tee shirts also kinda suck in my opinion. Also just a sidenote Kevin will be responsible for my therapy bills after the trauma from Infinity war and when they made Steven turn to stone ( sidenote Charlie Cox said he would literally fight people if he didn't get to continue his role as Matt in the MCU and I love that for him lol 🤣. I can't wait to see daredevil again. Also we might be getting a blade movie so midnight sons and more moon knight hopefully (like they have to know how much people love moon knight like they have a money maker it would be stupid not to use him.) Anyway fingers crossed for the D23 thing about moon knight 🤞
hey sails!!!
other than the funko pops, i haven’t really seen any moon knight merchandise which sUCKKSS. i would totally pay however much for a stuffed mk/khonshu/tawaret plushie 😭 idk why there isn’t a lot of official merch like this show is sooo popular and we barely get anything??? i think when mk was doing appearances in disneyland, they didn’t have much for sale there either. uGHH THERE BETTER HAVE A GOOD REASON WHY >:(
ooO the blade movie has already been confirmed !!! if im not mistaken, it’s supposed to come out next year starring mahershala ali :) and yeeees im so excited for a midnight sons movie 😭 but before that, they have to renew moon knight or have him show up in another project shjdkdkks

TBT: “This word that’s used it’s a word called ‘fan’, and I never really liked that word.” ~ Johnny Depp (August 14, 2015)
6 years ago, on August 14, Johnny made a surprise appearance at 2015 Disney’s D23 Expo, at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Los Angeles, California. On that day, Johnny became a member of the 2015 class of Disney Legends, an exclusive group selected by the company for their contributions to the Walt Disney Brand, and gave a funny speech thanking his fans, or as he rather say: “employers.”
>> Johnny’s Full Speech:
“Hi! (Chuckles while audience screams) that's what I did when I woke up this morning… I screamed at that top of my lungs. So, I don't know why I'm here… (audience laughs again) I really don't… (Someone says ‘We love you’ and Johnny replies: ‘Bless you, thank you very much, Sweet.) I am, yeah I don’t know why I’m here, but it's an absolute honor to be here and in all honesty the only reason I suppose that I have here (Johnny stops after spotting a mosquito flying around) Oh, a mosquito! Did you guys see that? By the way, did you see a guy all dressed in gold and like a little machine? Cool. (Chuckles ) Just wanna make sure…
There's only one reason that I'm here and it is because, there’s a word that’s used tonight and I'm not a big… (Johnny is interrupted again as someone shout something. As the audience laughs he jokes) That was fantastic because I didn't actually understand what you said. (the audience continues laughing as the man shouts and the word is passed by until Johnny understands, making them laugh again) Oh, 'Parley' (he says with Captain Jack Sparrow accent)
Terribly sorry, mate… (As the audience laughs, Johnny continued)
This word that’s used it’s a word called ‘fan’ and I never really liked that word, because it’s… I don’t know, it’s sort of… it implies that someone is above and someone is beneath in a weird way. So I would say that you are, in fact, my employer. (audience laughs and applauds). True.
Thank you for giving me this this great opportunity to, you know, basically do stupid stuff for a living… and for watching it. I'm honored to be inducted into this thing - there's another word that I’m not big on, ‘legend’, (laughs) but, I am honored to be inducted into this, with the likes of these other folks who are here the George Lucas, Dick Van Dyke, Dodd… It is absolutely an honor and I will treasure it and hopefully get to meet Mickey Mouse (audience laughs and applaud) Thank you very, very much. Thank you for supporting and for keeping me with the job. Take care”
6 years later, Johnny thanked again his employers.
“They are all our employers. They buy tickets, merchandise. They made all of those studios rich, but they forgot that a long time ago. I certainly haven’t.” (Johnny Depp, for the The Times UK, on August 14, 2021)

Spooky, Scary, Easy Company
Halloween is here!
Well, September is here and it’s the same thing in my opinion. I want to celebrate with a prompt list to get us in the spooky/autumnal mood with our favorite boys.
Don’t let the format confuse you, I’ve just broken down the prompts into three categories - dialogue, locations, and objects. You’re free to put as few or as many in your request as you like. All you have to tell me is who you want in the fic, and if you want it to be scary, fluffy, or smutty (I’m gonna avoid angst for this since we’re having fun, people!).
Also, don’t feel like you are confined to canon as far as plot - this is the opportunity to get as AU as you want.
This is designed to be written for reader insert or generic, unnamed OC paired with someone from BoB. If you have a name you like or want me to use your actual name, I’m happy to do that for you! I’m down to write for pretty much any of the guys except for like, Sobel, for obvious reasons.
I also write for my OCs - Melanie Davis (who is with Winters), Juliet Fletcher (with Speirs), Rita Suarez (with Buck), and Bonnie Butler (an ex of Nix’s but they’re just friends now). Feel free to throw them into the requests as well!
As far as canon ships go, I don’t write ships of the men with each other (winnix, speirton, etc.), it’s just not my thing, but I’m happy to just write friendship stuff with them with no reader/oc involved if that’s your jam :)
I’ll be taking prompts until October 20th, that way I’ll get them done in time for Halloween (hopefully).
The prompt list is rather long, so it’s under the cut!
Dialogue Prompts
D1. Isn’t a couples costume kinda corny? D2. Is that ketchup? Oh God, I hope that’s ketchup. D3. How do you not believe in ghosts? D4. No, I do not fuck with Ouija boards. Not since the last time. D5. “How do you like my costume?” “It would look better on the floor.” D6 Trick or treat! D7 What the hell was that? D8 This isn’t funny! I’m really scared! D9 If we’re watching a scary movie, you have to hold me. D10 Tell me your scariest story. D11 Who needs candy when I’ve got you? D12 Who’s there?! D13 Ugh, I hate Halloween. D14 You didn’t tell me someone was murdered here! D15 It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus! D16 Stay quiet! Do you want them to find us? D17 We’ve gotta get out of here! D18 What’s that on your shirt? D19 Oh, you got a leaf in your hair. D20 Turn the lights back on! D21 Please don’t carve something inappropriate on the pumpkin. D22 Your turn to hand out candy. D23 That costume/makeup is weirdly hot on you. D24 Will you shut up? I can’t hear the others. D25 I think we lost them. D26 You know, they say virgins have the best chance of surviving. D27 “That tickles.” “That’s not me.” D28 A stormy Halloween night. How cliché. D29 I’m turning the light off. If one more trick or treater interrupts I’m gonna explode. D30 You’ve got the costume on. Get into character. D31 Did…did that doll just move? D32 “I think you’ve had a bit too much spiked cider.” “That cider was spiked?!” D33 Our house is NOT haunted. Shut up. D34 This…isn’t a costume, is it? D35 I hate this. Let’s just go home! D36 Are you attracted to *insert character/costume here*? D37 Okay, time to hit the streets. I got the wagon full of beer and the kids are in their costumes. D38 Hold on. I didn’t take these photos. D39 What happened to the others? D40 I love to hear you scream.
Locations
L1. Haunted/abandoned house L2. Graveyard/cemetery L3. Pumpkin patch L4. Corn maze L5. Abandoned asylum/hospital L6. Mysterious small town L7. Halloween party L8. I saw a post on twitter that reminded of something I was going to say but you know, ADHD and all. Very busy brain.
Anyway, I feel like when the Disneyland Halloween party was at Disneyland itself, it was a lot better. You could get so many rides done and still have time to shop, eat, and watch the fireworks and parade, plus even meet characters. But when I went to the Boogie Bash for the first time this past October, we basically only had time to watch the parade, eat some dinner, get ice cream, ride mission breakout and midway mania, take some photos and videos of the villains they had out, and then do Villain’s grove right before the party ended. We wanted to ride MIssion breakout more times but the line was so long, and racers was basically impossible. Plus, no world of color? Unfortunate.
It feels like, TO ME, that by moving the Halloween party across the esplanade, they honestly ruined the whole thing. Maybe once world of color comes back it will be better, and villains grove was cool AF, but no fireworks and DCA already having less “Good” rides means that the wait times for everything is going to be longer.
I think it’s safe to assume that everyone is going to want to ride Mission breakout, racers, incredicoaster, midway mania, and soarin and the rest of the rides are meh. (Personal opinion, but no one is going to want to ride grizzly in October at night in their costumes, probably, and the other rides are not worth wasting time on because they’re little kid flat rides)
I’ve done the Halloween party at Disneyland four times previously and every time was great. We got to ride so many rides and barely had to wait. Last time I did it in 2018, Space mountain was a walk on, which is WILD. Plus we got to watch the parade (TWICE), see the fireworks, have dinner at a nice sit down restaurant, get photos with Rey in our Star Wars costumes, and do some shopping. I think the longest line there was for haunted mansion holiday (understandable)
Maybe I’m just…bitter?? Cause I went to Disneyland in late August 2019 for D23 and then again in end of February 2020 for my birthday/Rise of the Resistance and both trips were so good. We got to ride every ride we wanted to and some of the big rides multiple times, we got to go the tiki bar and oga’s cantina many times, we got to see world of color and Fantasmic with great spots, there were so many photo spots, we used Maxpass and the rise boarding passes were easy to get in February and we got one all three days.
Obviously yes. We are still in a pandemic and operations are reduced but damn, dude, maybe going for Halloween was the worst time to go because it was when there was no fast pass and no replacement, a bunch of rides were closed, boarding passes were impossible to get, and it was impossible to get dining reservations. My mom and I were there for 4 days and we spent most of the time back at the hotel watching tv because there was nothing to do. I sincerely hope it gets better next time we go (and hopefully it will be with my niece and nephew, but uhhhh, that’s not looking so good right now)

I’ve now seen Frozen 2 six times in theaters, the same amount of times I saw the original Frozen in theaters. I’ve seen it with several different friends, including my boyfriend, and saw it twice with my mom...and they all liked it a lot! As a matter of fact, my mom (who’s 74) never goes to movie theaters since she’s claustrophobic but she made an exception for Frozen because she loved it so much - she’s even willing to go a third time if I want!
What I find quite interesting is that the separation aspect of the ending seems to be the major dividing point among fans, but when I hear thoughts about the movie from people who like Frozen but aren’t fans, like many of my friends both IRL and online, as well as some movie critics I follow, the separation isn’t even mentioned. Even if they had issues with other parts of the movie, that was not one of them. The thing that many fans hated about the movie, especially before it came out, doesn’t seem to be an issue for general viewers. Of course I can only speak from personal experience and obviously this doesn’t apply to everyone, but the fact that Frozen 2 is on its way to surpassing the original in terms of box office sales at least proves this point in some respects - that the general public (no doubt many Frozen fans among them too) feels that the movie’s good points outweigh its flaws, and at the end of the day, that’s what matters since we know a “perfect” movie doesn’t exist, ESPECIALLY one that has the immense pressure of living up to the expectations set by the highest grossing animated film of all time (to be fair, the original Frozen had it easier because no one had any expectations for it because it was a brand new property - the fandom didn’t exist to set any standards or create desires for certain ships and headcanons to be fulfilled). It’s literally impossible to please everyone with a sequel to a movie that has such a variety of fans, from the many and vastly different hardcore shippers to the millions of little kids who just like seeing Anna and Elsa. But again, based on the success of the movie thus far, I think they pleased the majority.
Compared to Toy Story 4, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and HTTYD3, where the separation was treated as a true separation, with tears being shed, hugging goodbye, saying bittersweet parting words, Frozen 2 had none of that...actually it implied quite the opposite, with Elsa telling Anna that they’ll “continue to do this together” and Anna saying that their “lands and people are now connected by love.” This is why it’s not really a separation in the same manner as, say, Toy Story, where there’s no way Woody could see Buzz and the others again except by some crazy coincidence. We know that Elsa can visit Arendelle whenever she wants, and does do that as evidenced by the final scene of the movie where she gets Anna’s letter about charades night. It’s just unfortunate that due to the time constraints of the epilogue we don’t get to see this “working together to unite the lands” and learning how they handle their new roles. But the point I’m trying to make is that Jen Lee and team had their vision for the ending of the movie early on but they also knew that Anna and Elsa together is Frozen’s main appeal and selling point (I’m sure they were reminded about this from corporate heads at Disney too). So the question becomes, how to end the movie with the vision they want of Anna and Elsa finding their new roles in life, but not actually separating them? With six years of fostering this idyllic family image of Frozen, they spent 3-4 of those years creating an epic story that ultimately resulted in a change to this image, so how do you properly handle something that disrupts the status quo...but not too much? And the end of Frozen 2 is the solution to that: ending it on a happy reunion rather than a sad separation, showing the sisters in their new roles but leaving us with the message that they still see each other regularly. So everyone, young and old, who loves Anna and Elsa being together can still imagine them as such, but Jen Lee and team still got to end the movie with the destinies they envisioned for the girls (and as I’ve said before, although it’s different from what I imagined, I don’t think their vision is wrong as they’ve provided enough backing for it in podcasts, interviews, and other sources for me to believe they did what they truly felt was good and right for their characters - their interpretation is just as valid as mine or anyone else who truly loves the Frozen-verse). This ending really does tie into the “Some Things Never Change” theme - where they live and their roles in life have changed, but their love and family bonding time hasn’t. Back in August when I went to D23 Expo, I noted that Jen said something along these lines - that in Frozen 2, “nothing will ever be the same...well, some things will” which then lead to the voice cast ending the panel with a live performance of “Some Things Never Change.” Now I know what she meant by that.
I’m fairly certain we’ll see more official Frozen stories in the future, whether through post-ending story books, comics, animated shorts, and, hopefully Frozen 3. Disney is just slow - it might take a few more months to even get an announcement or to even start seeing spoiler merchandise in stores. But considering what a hit Frozen 2 is, I know this isn’t the last we’ve seen of our beloved sisters. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in the next chapter of their story.

Trending 27th - January 2020
What have been your efforts in the campaign for SaveWOY and what are your upcoming plans to save WOY? Now this is a question worth answering!
In the past, I made a little list of the things I did to support SaveWOY and bring awareness to Wander Over Yonder’s existence and its third season plans. Since then, I’ve done a whole lot more from hand-drawn art to more intricate art. Some of them are almost as special as that signed poster @peepsqueak got from the WOY crew as a token of their gratitude.
Here’s an updated list of everything I did for SaveWOY so far:
Attended the SaveWOY picnic at Griffith Park, where I got to sign a banner.
Pointed out various higher-ups involved in the business of Disney television.
Sent several letters to the higher-ups, some of which had envelopes with an image of the downed space pod taped to them.
Started a weekly Twitter post series, SaveWOY Thought of the Week.
Made Lite-Brite art of Wander and Lord Hater, which Craig McCracken and Francisco Angones liked.
Attended D23 2017 with an Operation: FORCE drawing of Hater, a colored page of Wander and Sylvia and a few facts about WOY, and an orange pen with a green hat (I got the hat from the aforementioned picnic) - there, I signed a bench with Wander and the phrase, “Never hurts to help.”
Signed my name, drew Wander (and my own character, Jacken DeBox), and wrote, “Happiest place in outer space!” on the highest beam for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Wrote a letter (and drew Wander) for the victims of the Las Vegas tragedy with the message, “The darkest times call for the sunniest smiles!”
Got Craig to reveal the name of the ship (said to play a BIG part in S3, made a cameo in Future-Worm) when I commented that we’d have to figure out the name - his response: “The ship is called The Star Nomad.”
Wrote a couple of cards to two Disney higher-ups with the message, “A little nice makes naughty think twice!”
Drew Dominator in a situation that might take place several seconds after she passes the downed space pod, just in time for Noël Wells’s B-day.
Made the Star Nomad with LEGO Digital Designer.
Made three images in the style of the original Star Wars trilogy VHS set.
Posted 50 WOYS3PredictionPolls on Twitter.
Made an image of “The First 5 Years” with over 140 individuals (including the question marks for 3 new mains and 2 new regulars - I still want to know what they look like!) and one cleverly made Hidden Mickey.
Shared WOY-related images from my 1st 5 Years fan art on Twitter acknowledging the B-days of most of the voice actors (Charlie Adler, Kevin Michael Richardson, Ken Marino, Josh Sussman, H. Michael Croner, James Adomian, Jason Ritter, and Piotr Michael clearly noticed).
Typed a summary of how I think the S3 premiere would go.
Typed lyrics to “Let’s Go Soarin’ and Explorin’,” a song from my aforementioned S3 premiere summary. Wouldn’t it be great if Andy Bean used it?
Made a microgame with WarioWare: D.I.Y. where the player has to spin the fan to make the Star Nomad fly. Part of a chorus from “Let’s Go Soarin’ and Explorin’” included.
Started FanCharacterFriday on Twitter - more Tumblr users seem to like Dr. Otmar Vunderbar.
Made a short comic page of Lord Hater trying to break out of the DTVA vault plus a sly reminder that Disney owns the rights to WOY.
Shared a list of potential episode titles for S3.
Made an actual LEGO Star Nomad based on the model made with LDD. Hopefully, those who worked on WOY have noticed. In case you missed it, here’s a picture...
Now, the ideas I have in mind for further boosting support for the campaign. I may not be able to do most of them myself, but they are certainly for everyone’s consideration.
Provide updated information of higher-ups (if any).
As soon as we find out what Kid Cosmic looks like, expect fan art of him saying, “Watch my show and tell your friends so we’ll make that Mousey Company pay for what they did to my half-brother!”
Another SaveWOY picnic - if there’s one in my general area, you can count me in.
LP album artwork of My Fair Hatey.
A mural identical to that of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate consisting of not just characters from WOY, but also characters who were said to debut in S3 and characters who’d fit in perfectly, namely some of my OCs.
Pumpkin stencils of the main characters for Halloween.
Drawings of various WOY characters stuck on the ex-secret planet explaining why they need to leave said planet. Maybe I could also show how the galaxy’s villains would react if they learn that Lord Dominator’s been bested by Lord Hater.
Drawings consisting of SaveWOY-related messages spoken by the main characters from Disney shows that got at least three seasons (e.g. DuckTales, Fish Hooks), tons of love from the viewers and the executives (e.g. Gravity Falls), or both (e.g. SvtFoE, Mickey Mouse ‘13).
Example with Phineas and Ferb:
Phineas: “We may be creative and famous, but we’re not the ones who came up with the Star Nomad. It’s the ship powered by orbbles! Orbbles! I’d LOVE to see it take flight, wouldn’t you? If you let Mr. McCracken end the show his way, and not the executive way, which, truth be told, is the absolute worst, Wander will surely be elated!”
Ferb: “The Orbble Transporter was invented by conjoined twin brothers, voiced by the performers of the theme song.”
Irving (peeking in from the side): “Speaking of voices, the titular main character sounds JUST LIKE ME! How could you possibly resist?! And look, just because I’m the biggest fan of these guys (gesturing to P&F) doesn’t mean I have no interest in what’s planned for the furry orange fella!”
Since I’m a full-time Disneyland cast member, I should be able to make contacts with anyone who might have more clues about what S3 would entail. It might be a long shot, but if I’m able to convince Disney that WOY’s influence on my life boosted my chance at gaining employment at the company, they should understand.
A weekly Jeopardy-type pop quiz on Twitter - here’s the catch: you must refrain from finding information online when you read the answer (I bet you that the most hardcore fans of the most popular shows will get most of the questions wrong).
Example: This arachnomorph got his name from a dog tag he swallowed when he infiltrated a fish-shaped ship. He later became Lord Hater’s beloved pet.
-Who is Captain Tim?
Summaries of S3 episodes I made up myself a while back.
More fan-made characters - my most recent is an elected official of Cluckon, Mayor Spye C. Drumstick.
Conjuring a logo that best fits the status of S3/TV movie - Wander Over Yonder: The New Galaxy (the center would have the silhouette of the Star Nomad with Wander and Sylvia on it).
Brainstorming possible ideas for the three new main characters.
If all else fails, I suggest we make a web comic based on the hints we accumulated back in 2016 and what we learned from the cameo in Future-Worm’s finale. Team Sea3on has been taking that approach for SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog S3, though they are also making an animated version.
That’s about all I’ve got so far. In closing, I have several questions to ask as the new decade kicks off.
Disney executives: Are you even listening to us WOY fans? What more do you want? I’ve done so much for the campaign that I feel I’m entitled to know everything that was planned for WOY’s third and final season, especially now that I’m working full-time for your company. If you tell us what your demands are, we’d be happy to oblige.
@crackmccraigen: Are you aware of how hard the fans and I have been trying to talk Disney into giving you the chance for true closure? We’ll make sure we watch KC when it comes out on Netflix. If we’re lucky, we might see WOY get added to Disney+, where it should get that closure, assuming you’ll have finished KC your way before then.
@suspendersofdisbelief: I know you’re super busy with DuckTales and you love the plans for WOY S3 so much that you can’t bear to reveal it all in one post, but it’s been waaaay too long since we got any hints from you. Are there any other WOY S3-related facts you could describe in much greater detail? The campaign could do with more motivation.
Non-WOY fans: Are you convinced? Need I remind you what’s in the end tag of the “last” episode of WOY? You know there’s much more to life than tales from the land of Ooo, a blue middle school cat boy in a world of unusual individuals, adolescent twins in an Oregon town filled with oddities, a half-gem half-human protagonist, a coming-of-age princess of Mewni, a trio of ursine trend-followers in San Francisco, and all that jazz. If you’re not one bit interested in Hater’s origin story and all that was planned for S3, it’s your loss.
Pessimists: Will you please dispense with this unnerving “Wander is dead” talk? As a certain Popeye would say, “That’s all I can stands, I can’t stands no more!” You’re not trying to let the Disney bosses win, are you? You probably used to think previously canceled shows like Hey Arnold!, Samurai Jack, and Young Justice could never be brought back. The point is, all is not lost.
@peepsqueak and WOY fans/SaveWOY supporters: Have I been of assistance? Almost every remark I’ve ever made shows wit and perception. I mean, just think. Wander is still stuck in that vault where his goal of reforming Lord Hater remains incomplete, and he has no idea of what threat awaits him. He says, “Glorn, help us.” It’ll take something big and extraordinary to convince every Disney fan (and perhaps every Netflix fan) to talk some sense into the higher-ups. Not to mention the replacement/back-up voice actors we’ll have to find if Disney takes even longer (we already lost one - René Auberjonois). We shan’t rest until we get the answers!

I haven’t seen many posts that talk about this on tumblr, they are all over twitter but I feel like saying something about Poe Dameron and what was hinted at from D23 expo.
Introducing Zori like that, alluding to Poe Dameron’s maybe not so clean past, messing up his image a little, I’m genuinely not opposed to the idea of Poe being a little untamed, with an attitude and doing a little whatever he wants. I think that just adds another layer to him, why was he like that? Was that during his academy days? or just after? Or was it when he just joined the Resistance? Was it a trigger of losing Muran. There are lots of opportunities there that I think would be interesting to explore.
That said, Zori is clearly there as a way to put a stop to the rumours and idea of Poe Dameron being queer, it’s been there since the beginning of 2015 when Oscar started doing interviews, stating for example that he was playing at romance. In the first one he literally only has scenes with BB-8 and Finn, who was he alluding to if not Finn? Oscar has after that been very outspoken about a possible romance between the two of them, or at least the fact that it’s possible that Poe is LGBTQ+. I know everyone felt very hopeful about The Rise of Skywalker, of more Finn and Poe scenes together, Oscar himself has said that he gets to work a lot with John on this one and he really liked that. That is exciting, that and the trio finally being together for what’s hopefully the majority of the film. So I agree it feels a little less exciting to hear about Zori like this when it’s an obvious move on Disney’s side to try and put a stop to it. It’s nasty and it’s like guys come on it’s 2019 get with the program, it’s just very tiring.
But at the same time I don’t want to let this thing ruin the movie for me, I think that there are so many things with this movie to actually be excited about and the fact that Disney is a bunch of white dudes who are all homophobic is jsbdjansoge9dbasbdoa but also like you don’t get to ruin this for me so I’m ignoring all of you.
With that said, when will we get our Star Wars movie with a confirmed queer character?
But in the end Poe Dameron belongs to each and every one of us in our own way, we see him the way we want to see him, it’s the beauty of characters and if that is that he his gay or bi or pan or something else then yes let’s contain that, let’s remember that. This situation is not ideal, it sucks but we can all hope that Oscar was allowed to do as much as he could in this one because we all know he is the captain of the Stormpilot ship!

Tangled: The series Q&A with Chris.
This is a recapitulation from today’s (February 9th, 2019) Questions and Answers session with Chris on the Tangled Discord Server.
Q: How was your day? How has the crew been? A: That’s an easy one... so far, my day has been great! We’ve all been actually REALLY great! Everyone is still loving making the show! And we all can’t wait for you all to see what’s coming up!
Q: What this series means to you personally? A: As most already know, the show is very personal for me. I pull a lot of the themes and situations from my own experiences and the experiences of the people I love. The writers do an amazing job!
Q: Which episode are you most excited for out of the new titles that were released? A: I need to stay away from commenting on anything coming up. Sorry guys!!! You will love them though, I promise!
Q: Do you know whether or not there will be a long hiatus between season 2 and season 3 too? A: I do not know anything about Disney Channel’s plans for the shows schedule.
Q: I wonder who has built the caravan. Was it Rapunzel herself? A: We all just imagined that the caravan was picked up along the way shortly after the events of season one. I liked the idea that they were out there picking up supplies and things along their way. There could be more stories about how they acquired it. Those stories could be very fun.
Q: I know there are a lot of questions coming in but when you have a moment, would you mind telling us some of your favorite fan theories or AUs? A: AU’s - Well, that Moon Varian thing has gotten a lot of attention.
Q: What did you think when you heard that Germany was getting the episodes first? A: Honestly, it was quite odd to hear that Germany was getting the new episodes first. But again, I have zero say over how programming works at the channel. No one at the studio really does.
Q: Do you read fanfiction of the show? A: I don’t really have the time to read fan fiction, and I’d be worried that some of those ideas would find themselves into the show, so I stay away from them.... I’m sure they are great though!! I love that people feel so connected to the story that they write their own stories! That is SO GREAT! And inspiring in itself!
Q: Have you met any cosplayers? A: Uh, I met a few at D23! Amazing people!
Q: Fave piece of fanart? A: Any of the Cass fan art! I screen shot them and send a few of them to Eden! She loves them!!!
Q: Who's your favorite character? A: It’s hard to have a fav. I love them all so much!
Q: Bouncing off of that question, do you have a favorite villain? A: Well cone on, what would happen to me if I didn’t say Varian wasn’t my fav? HAHAHA!!! I do love Varian!
Comment: I noticed Varian went through lots of design changes, not really a question but I just gotta say how amazing his design is. Chris: He was conceived very early on in the development of the show. But he didn’t really come to life until Jeremy stepped into the role. His design changed after Jeremy was cast. Once we knew more about him he started to take more visual shape. He was a little softer in his design, not as dynamic. Ben Balistreri really found the right tone with him and gave him his final look! You can thank him!
Q: What about Cass. DId she change as well? A: Cass was similar. We had a pretty good idea of who she was, and what she would look like. But once I heard Eden’s voice, she became much more real and started to influence the design much more. Tough and able, she needed to look older and feel different than Rapunzel.
Q: Are you planning to add any more major-ish characters? A: Can’t really speak about upcoming episodes, SORRY!!!
Q: Do you or the other crew members have any pets that inspired any of the animals in the show, like Max or Rudiger or Pascal or Owl? A: Not REALLY?!I wanted my Scottish terrier to make it into the show, but he never did. His name was Conan!
Q: Is there anything you can tell us about (Shorty)? A: No, I like his mystery.
Q: Is he gonna be the Old Man Mcgucket of the series? A: He will NOT be the Old Man Mcgucket of the show.
Q: What is working on a creative team like? It's something i would love to do one day, but i was wondering what studio life is like? A: Working with the crew is the best part of the show. They are amazingly talented and inspiring! I love our crew. The artists, the writers, the voices, the musicians. It’s an amazing process. I’m so lucky that I get to work with ALL of them. I’m the only one that gets to work one on one with every single person on the show. Every single person brings a unique voice to the show. It has its challenges, but at the end of the day, you guys make it ALL worth it. So much more to come! You guys have no idea! I feel like the best stuff is ahead of us. I just wish there were more of you! I know, you guys do a GREAT job. But it’s amazing that so many “Tangled” fans still don’t even know that there is a SHOW!
Q: So at what point in the creative process do you think it's easiest to see what the episode will be? A: Hopefully it’s pretty early, but it doesn’t become solid for me until we start talking to the director and board artists about it. I love the visuals so it becomes clearer to me when I can start seeing things. The themes are always clear. It’s really about finding what the individual episode has to do with the season. Then I can start fine tuning it.
Q: What is you favourite scene? A: Oh I have so many. Um.......When her hair comes back. Her jumping out into the moonlight was my drawing. I loved that. It was like her being reborn.
Q: What made you decide that the leaf people on the Island (Lorbs) should talk with a German accent? A: It just seemed to be a funny thing for them to be German. Flula Borg is hilarious. He was in Pitch Perfect. And is on Conan O’Brien all the time.
Q: Has there ever been bloopers during the series? A: Bloopers are rare in animation. We cut scenes from time to time but the process needs to be tight so very few things get cut!
Q: Did anyone who said the idols name have trouble pronouncing "Idol of the Vershaftsbezeigungengien"? A: Oh! That?! HA! Flula just said it, nailed it. And it just became what the idol was called! We laughed every time he said it. He never messed it up. Nailed it every time.
Q: What background do we have on Friedborg's creation? A: Oh Friedborg.... She was simply meant to be this fun silent member of the castle. The show is SO heavy... and emotional, we just try to look for as many light moments and characters as we can to lessen the heaviness of the overall story.
Q: Did you have any inspiration for the character of Cass? A: Oh Cass. Ummm... she’s made up of a lot of people and experiences. I had an older wiser friend growing up that showed me the ropes. I wanted Rapunzel to have one of those. I cool, experienced buddy. Outside of Eugene. There’s your boyfriend, and then there’s your BFF. They are different.
Q: Were show auditions done all at the same time? Or as new characters needed? A: No, Lance came later, but I knew who I wanted for him. James was ALWAYS Lance.
Q: I'm curious, why did you decide to give Cass an Owl? A: Ben loves owls. And it seemed like something she’d have. Lives most of its real life at night.
Q: What was your inspiration for Quirin, Varian, and their family? A: Varian really came out of necessity. We needed something that would illustrate Rapunzel and her Father’s strained relationship.
Q: What inspired you to get so much Broadway talent for the voices? A: Well. I love broadway. And it seemed in line with the film already. Donna Murphy is a Broadway legend! So it only seemed natural. I knew there was going to be a lot of music and wanted a more sophisticated talent pool than just the regular Disney Channel Stars. Our cast is AMAZING! You guys have no idea.
Comment: Im a huge broadway fan I was so sad Christian Borle didn't sing. Chris: He didn’t sing.... BUUUUT STILL!!! CHRISTIAN BORLE!!!! He’s amazing!!!
Q: Whose bird design is your favourite? A: I loved them all. They won an award!!!
Q: With two legends like the actors playing mother and father, why did you decide to not do a song? A: Songs are difficult to do in the 22 min episodes. We knew we wanted Rapunzel and Cass to sing about the road, so after that we just ran out of time!
Q: Without going into spoilers, any information we can know on Adira's development? A: Well obviously she has the tattoo... So she’s connected in SOME way.
Q: On character design, how long does it take to design a character? A: As far as time goes.... The crew gets a few weeks to design a show, but for major characters that we know we will see over multiple episodes, we take more time. Ben was working on Adira’s design even before we ended season one.
Q: Could I be cheeky and ask for some portfolio tips? Like.. what would be the number one thing a studio (not just disney, any really) would look for when it comes to a character design artist? A: Good question...The number one thing needed for a designer is to know how to turn a character in space. It’s boring, but it’s the NUMBER ONE THING required for the job. Knowledge of shape and space. Not just 3/4 front. So many portfolios have these amazing drawings, but they don’t mean anything if that can’t animate. Do tons and tons of turns. A lot of people think that character design is this super creative flourish of whatever you want all day long. And honestly, it’s not. It’s a lot of mundane clinical turns that are done for use by animators. It’s very boring most of the time.
Q: Would that be very similar for general concept art? A: Well, there’s a difference between visual development and character design.Character design for TV is CLINICAL AND STERILE. But VERY useful. And necessary. But it’s not the life of a “Art of” book. You need to be able to think like a computer.
Q: How early did you have the concept for Lance, and did his role change during development? A: I think I’ve told this story before but I love telling it. About Lance. So. I had flown to New York to pitch the show to Music legend Alan Menken... We spent the day pitching and Alan loved the concept of the show and agreed to write our songs!!! HUGE! Life changing day for sure. So I think he got us tickets to see Aladdin that evening on Broadway. I had never seen it on stage. So we went and I always keep notes for ideas in my phone. And the moment I saw James Monroe Iglehart, I knew he needed to be in the show. He was so much fun! And big! And funny! And a GREAT singer.I wrote down “Eugene needs a fun friend from his past and James would be perfect!” This was before we even began writing any scripts for the show. So from then on out, he became a character in my head, it was just the details of how he would play into the story. But we all love him and James is like a brother to me. We have so much in common! He’s the best! He’s in Hamilton on Broadway now! He and Lin go back a LONG way! They have been friends for years! Q: Which movie or show song is your favourite? A: Well, if it’s not too obvious, I’m a “Little Shop of Horrors”/“Little Mermaid” guy.I love the tragedy of Little Shop and the beauty of Mermaid. I love music and animation. I think our songs are some of the best Disney has to offer across the board. I’d put any of our songs against the features any day.And there are more coming that are some of the best in the series!!!
Comment: Listen up is one of my favorites. Chris: I like listen up because Rapunzel at that point needs to listen to the voices in her head... it was motivated by the things that were happening in the bigger story.
Comment: I liked View from up here. Chris: View from Up Here was also motivated by the bigger arc of the story. Songs for me should work hard to inform the audience what is happening in the story overall, not just what’s happening AT THE MOMENT. “Ready as I’ll ever be” was really about Rapunzel getting ready to leave home. She was as ready to start her adventure as she was going to be. We just used the song to give that same attitude to everyone. But Rapunzel is the focus. Everything SHOULD have purpose. Narrative purpose.
Chris: Keep watching and SPREAD THE WORD!!!

I also have mix feelings about the water fight mainly because they both have move past this. But if this is really about them using actions to portray their hurt emotions, sure I can understand that but I still have mix feelings about it. Maybe they are just letting out steam and every frustrations they have but not really trying to kill or hurt the other (only hitting the other’s lightsabers instead of aiming at their body parts) then calming down to talk. We still don’t know the context tho.
Hey Nonnie,
Yeah, I’m trying to reserve judgement until I see the actual scene. I mean, I have feelings, too many feelings lol, but I’m not really going to worry about something I can’t change, but I do like chatting about it. I think they’ll be careful with however they end up doing things. It’ll be nice to have the official trailer/more info after D23 (hopefully), but even then, I’m going to try to enjoy the movie as it is, instead of getting too attached to my head canons (she says, as she gets further attached to her head canons lol).
And I know better too. I’ve been through too many promo seasons to believe that they’re giving us the full picture at all (”okay, so now that we know it’s Hux’s hand” LOL), but it’s fun to speculate.
I’m sure the sequence will look badass and I’m glad Daisy was proud of it, however it ends up going. I just wish it was Dec so I could break down all the nitty gritty parts and read all the meta HAHA.
All well. Soon enough :)
Cheers!

The Nightmare Before Christmas: 25 Years Anniversary
Since there are a LOT more things coming out to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary, I thought I’d make a master post to share everything that has and IS going to happen. Obviously there’s still a lot of the year left, so new things are bound to come(predictably in October), but I’ll be updating it as time goes on! Here’s a master post of all the celebrations for TNBC’s 25th anniversary:
The Nightmare Before Christmas Visual Companion
Much like The Film, the Art, the Vision, which was published by Frank Thompson and foreworded by Tim Burton himself ages ago, a new book is going to be released sometime later this year filled with behind-the-scenes content of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It is made by Dave Bossert and is claimed to have material fans have never seen before...Hopefully some information of more recent news will make it in there. (include that Jack/Sally graveyard storyboard scene you COWARDS!)
Showcasing of The Nightmare Before Christmas Tattoo Art
(Continued from above) Dave Bossert is also going to showcase a selection of Nightmare Before Christmas-themed tattoos in two pages in The Nightmare Before Christmas Visual Companion. If you have a TNBC tat, chances are you’ll want to send him something. So if you have a photo or JPEG you’d like to send him of your tattoo, send it to [email protected]. If they pick yours, they’ll get you to sign a release and give you credit. So don’t miss out on that!
The Nightmare Before Christmas Sequel Comic Book: Zero’s Journey
As I’m sure everyone of us has heard by now, there was a released comic book published by TOKYOPOP serving as the “sequel” to The Nightmare Before Christmas. It focuses on Zero getting lost in Christmas Town, and by now only a couple of issues have officially released. They’re published monthly, so be on your watch for a new one as the months go by. It should be available in comic book stores or online somewhere. It’s cute and the art is well done!
The D23 Comic-Con San Diego Panel (July 21st, 2018)
In 2 days from now, the Official Disney Fan Club(D23) is hosting a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con featuring Henry Selick, Anthony Scott, Kelly Asbury, and Edie Ichioka. It’ll be a behind-the-scenes retroactive panel in room 6BCF from 7:45-8:45 P.M. at the San Diego Convention Center. Takes notes if you’re going - we don’t hear much from this part of the cast!
The “Pocket Pop-Up Experience” (July 21st, 2018)
An artistic celebration is going to be hosted at the Davis-Horton House, 410 Island Avenue in San Diego from 8 A.M.-8 P.M. On the 13th minute of every hour, they will be handing out special Nightmare merchandise to lucky people in line. Go if you want a chance at merchandise or if you’re interested in this celebration. If you have any time after this, try and make it to the D23 panel!!
Merchandise...LOTS of Merchandise.
Nightmare has always been exploited. The same thing will be happening for its 25th anniversary. New merchandise has been released, including action figures, a new special edition DVD, collectibles, statues, ornaments, posters, calendars, snow globes, etc. More merchandise is being released for the Resident characters, so if you’re interested in that, keep an eye out! These are gradually popping out in stores as we speak.
Cinestory / The Story of the Movie In Comics
There will be a Cinestory comic published by Joe Books LTD releasing for the anniversary, featuring rare concept art from the Disney archives and Tim Burton. The publisher is also releasing a graphic novel adaption on July 31st, 2018 called “The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Story of the Movie In Comics”. These will be available in stores like Walmart, Target, and Amazon, and are available for preorders right now.
Cinema Screenings and Orchestras
Yes, it turns out that some cinemas ARE returning The Nightmare Before Christmas for its 25th Anniversary. Street Food Cinemas of King Gillette Ranch in Malibu, California will be hosting an event on September 29th(X). The Florida Theatre in Jacksonville will have a 7:00-8:30 P.M. screening on July 22nd, 2018. The Paramount Theatre will also have a showing on August 5, 2018 at 1:00 P.M in Austin and October 15, 2018 at 6:15 P.M in Aurora.
The Pittsburgh Symphony will also be playing Danny Elfman’s score at Heinz Hall on October 18th at 7:30 P.M(X). The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be performing the score at the Powell Hall on November 3rd(7:00 P.M.) and 4th(2:00 P.M.)(X). There will also be a screening in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre on October 31 with the Chicago Philarmonic performing the score. This event welcomes attendees to dress up and celebrate in the lobby. Tickets will go on sale on July 27th at noon here.
Keep an ear out from your local cinemas in case they decide to screen Nightmare sometime soon, as well as any orchestrated events near you.
If any of the information is incorrect or if you have any questions, just let me know. I expect further events and celebrations to come, this is just what I know of right now. Have fun, everyone!

Welp, guess next time we're getting content is in December when he has his 3 second cameo in DLU. Like it's already 10th November, not expecting any magazine covers or interviews, probably won't even be at D23 Expo either.
Guess we'll be fed good last year anyways.
🤔 We are supposed to be getting content next week tho. But yeah, I'm not expecting an interview or something until next year. Hopefully I'm wrong and we get a podcast or something like last year?

In-Depth Analysis of Infinity War Trailer-- *HEAVY SPOILERS* Part 1
I think I’ve got everything figured out. Today’s footage + SDCC/D23 footage discussion.
We know Thanos takes the Power stone (purple) first, then the Mind stone (blue) because of this scene:
Thus, Thanos’ first stop in Infinity War will be the Nova Corps HQ where the Power stone is located.
More under the cut! [Part 2] [Part 3]
Although his thumb isn’t showing, we know that he still doesn’t have the Time stone because it’s on Earth.
The Nova Corps are most likely destroyed and Thanos seeks out the next stone: the Tesseract. *RAGNAROK SPOILERS* Now, Loki took the Tesseract from Odin’s collection in Thor:Ragnarok before Asgard was destroyed. We see Thanos and Thor’s ships meet face to face in the final scene:
Thanos kills the Asgardians on board. Thanos beats Thor like a rag doll, grabs his entire head in one hand and squeezes. Loki offers Thanos the Tesseract in order to save himself (and hopefully Thor, Valkyrie, and Hulk).
Thor is knocked unconscious. Somehow he ends up floating in space (maybe Loki did offer to save him, maybe Thanos thought he was dead and left him, maybe Thanos threw him off the ship)
The Guardians show up, maybe they receive a distress call. Mantis says, “We are arriving” while Quill chimes in, “Don’t forget this might be dangerous, so let’s put on our mean faces.” They are looking around at all the debris and wreckage- it’s Thor’s ship. Mantis says “what happened?”
Thor crashes on their windshield. Rocket yells, “Wipers! Wipers! Get it off!”
The Guardians retrieve Thor, Quill orders Mantis to wake him up. She puts her hand on his forehead and says “Wake.” Thor wakes up and freaks out. He sees the Guardians and says, “Who the hell are you guys?”
He leads them somewhere, possibly Earth. He looks out the ship’s window and says “Something’s very wrong.”
Now back to Thanos and the gang, not sure what happens to Loki (depending on if he betrayed us or not), but Hulk is transported to Earth when the Space stone opens a portal. Maybe Thanos opens the portal knowing that there are infinity stones on Earth. Thanos now has the Power and Space stones.
Hulk, now Banner, crashes down into Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Bruce looks shaken AF.
Strange calls Tony Stark aouthis buddy just crashing through the roof. Tony shows up and helps Bruce out (he’s got clothes now!). They all notice that something else came through that wormhole...
If you look REALLY closely, you’ll see that Tony has a flip pone in his hand. A flip phone. Tony Stark doesn’t use flip phones. Well...
...it’s actually the phone Steve gave him at the end of Civil War. “If you need me, I’ll be there,” Steve said. Can you believe Tony carries that flip phone around Either he’s calling to warn Steve, or he’s calling to Assemble the team.
Either way, trouble is coming. Specifically, coming from the sky.
Meanwhile, our favorite nerd has his spidey sense tingling and notices the weird ass circular structure in the sky. He probably calls Tony or vice-versa and Tony gives him the suit. Peter may have stolen it (after being told to lay low), but it is unlikely because it is located in upstate New York. Peter investiates the weird structure. Tony (now in armor), Stephen, and Wong fight off aliens (behind the scenes picture of Stephen Strange being tackled by mo-cap guy).
Here is our Stephen Strange and Spiderman team-up!
I know the above image is only rumored but with additional BTS pics ( esp. seeing Benedict strapped up to fly) I believe this is a real scene.
More to come!

Q&A Transcript with Alex Hirsch at MomoCon 2017
Question: Before you decided to make Bill the main bad guy, did you have another character in mind that would have been the villain?
Alex: Yeah, um that's a good question. Uh, so, when we came up with the villain of the show, I knew that... I knew that Bill was involved. And I knew that Ford had disappeared due to some deal gone wrong with some villain next to the mystery of how Gravity Falls was all assembled.
Um, but, I didn't yet decide that Bill was that character in the very beginning, y'know? I had always imagined it was some sort of evil character somewhere kinda hidden in the woods. I wasn't sure I could go with the Bill idea cuz I thought it would be too much like Twin Peaks, but as we got further along the series we discussed it among the repairs and we were like, 'none of our other villain ideas were as good.' Bill, Bill was weirder than anything else we thought of. Um, I remember there were other ideas. Strange monsters and government officials; some kind of cthulhu-- some weird crazy old man. But nothing was ever better than Bill, so it ended up sticking. Probably somewhere around, y'know, season one-- midway through season one, we started thinking we might be-- might be on point.
Q: Was Grunkle Stan ever aware of McGucket’s connection to his brother?
A: Oh, oh that's such a good question. Wait, let me think about that for a second... Uh... lemme see... I don't think so. I don't think Stan was ever aware of McGucket's connection to his brother. Because, by the time Stan traded identities with Ford, uh... McGucket had already gone off the deep end-- Was already y'know, had already created the Society of the Blind Eye; had already lost his own memory. So Stan would've really only known McGucket as a local obnoxious fisherman.
And McGucket, probably somewhere deep in the back of his mind, was eerily just drawn to Stan in a way he just couldn't put his finger on, because he thought maybe he knew him, but-- I don't-- I think Stan was ignorant of that. Um, I think Stan... I think Stan looking through the journals probably should've put two and two together, but Stan's not the best at book-learnin'. Uh, so... my guess is Stan wouldn't have known despite that uh, that there's a lot of tumblr art out there showing them as like the Scooby-Doo gang. I don't think Stan ever really knew McGucket before.
Q: What episode do you believe came out the strongest and the most well rounded overall? And is it the same as your personal favorite episode?
A: Oh gosh. Um. That's a great question. Hmm... I probably feel, personally, that the strongest episode is uh, "Not What He Seems" just because it's such a dramatic episode. Like, we know-- We've never had an episode that dramatic. But, when we first pitched it to Disney executives... they thought it was bad. [laughs] Um, Because it didn't have a lot of jokes in it? Like, I remember normally when we're pitching our episode, executives can usually gauge how good they are by how much people laugh. People didn't really laugh for that one, because it's really tense. So we thought, maybe we'd screwed up. But, when the animation came back we were like, 'Oh! It's GOOD that it's tense. Like, it worked!' Um, So, I dunno if that's my favorite episode, but I think-- that's the episode we should've won an Emmy for, and I'm still pissed we didn't. [laughs]
In terms of favorite episode, like... I dunno. I think the first episode that I really felt that the show was really starting to feel the way I wanted it to-- "Time Traveler's Pig" in season one. Like, that was an episode where Dipper had an interesting story, and Mabel had an interesting story, and uh, felt nostalgic, and based around the summer, and had a big secret callback to even previous episodes, so-- I just remember when we first just got that episode back in color, I was like, 'hey I think maybe I like how I'm making this cartoon show,' so I think that has a particularly fond place in my heart, y'know.
Q: Is Disney bringing you to SDCC or NYCC later this year to promote the journal and other books coming out?
A: Right, um, yeah, Disney-- Disney... Disney-general and me, have like-- we're divorced. Like, they kept the house, and the pets. Y'know what I mean? It's... we don't like get dinner or anything. But, the Disney Publishing department, separate from Disney Television, they're really cool, and enthusiastic, and energized. And they wanna make new cool stuff. Um, so I think it's possible I might be at D23 this year, and it's possible I might be at Comic Con, but I don't have anything confirmed yet.
Q: In the scene where Bill is trying to convince Ford to join him in the Fearamid, were there any other jokes or story beats that were considered?
A: Which episode specifically are you talking about? [Q: The We'll Meet Again scene.] Yea yea yea, We had a-- Every scene that you've ever seen in the show has a ton of ton of stuff we've thought of and had to cut for time or other reasons. Um, I remember there was definitely a version of that where Bill was a lot trickier. Like, he sort of more successfully lied to Ford about like: 'We're actually going to make the world a better place. Though I present myself as this chaos lunatic that's just my personality.' Like, 'here's ways in which we'll IMPROVE the universe.'
Um, but it felt out of character. We thought it was much more like Bill to just draw smiley faces in oceans and eat the sun and just-- hope, that the force of his charisma could convince Ford that that was a good idea. But uh, I feel like-- I feel like Bill can be really really tricky when he wants to, but by the time Weirdmageddon showed up he's so impatient, and he's so convinced that he won, that he was no longer like, this brilliant chess master he used to be. He's like, 'alright let's do it! Do what I want or I'll eat your face.' Like, no more-- No more, like-- He wasn't as smart a tactician as he used to be, y'know?
Q: Was "We'll Meet Again" always the song you were going to use?
A: Oh yeah, it had to be that. It was like... I think I'd just seen Dr. Strangelove recently around that time and it stuck in my head. It seems to me, if Bill has a taste in music, it would be, like, old timey music that ranges from either weird to obnoxious to obscure.
Uh, Disney wanted me to cut it cuz it cost them a bunch of money to get the rights, even though it's so old, it still cost them money to get the rights. And I just... said, please. Over and over and over again. I would send an e-mail that just said, 'please.' And send another e-mail that said, 'please.' And I would send another e-mail that said-- Yeah. [laughs] Eventually I wore them down that they're like, 'alright we'll spend thousands of dollars.' [laughs]
Q: Are real comics coming?
A: You want comics? Would you read Gravity Falls comics? [Audience screams] [Alex leans his ear forward] [AUDIENCE SCREAMS]
A: It's a terrifying noise isn't it, Michael? I was at a... Gravity Falls gallery, and like, they didn't tell us how many people would show up, and it was like, THAT noise echoing from every corner. And uh like, I think I lost a year of my life. My hair started going gray, and it was like, 'oh my god, this is too much love! It's terrifying.'
Comics. I would love to do Gravity Falls comics. Um, I have so many... One of the tough things about a half hour show like Gravity Falls is every now and then we think of an idea that we really liked, but it was too short for a half hour; 'oh that's only five minutes of story'-- Or it's too specific and weird. And so I have tons and tons of ideas of the show that y'know we'd like to explore this character, we'd like to show this secret, this storyline. So, I'd love to do comics. But, that's up to Disney Publishing, and I'm trying to convince them. So, hopefully, I'll have something exciting to announce in not too long.
Q&A with Stan and Soos
Q: Is Dipper adorable or manly?
Stan: Dipper smells like baby wipes. Even if I cut off all my shoulder hair, and taped it to him, he wouldn't be 1/10th as manly I am.
Q: What would you do if Mabel told you she had a date to prom?
Stan: I would... invite the gentleman over, have some coffee, tie him to a chair and interrogate him for 10 hours, and maybe throw him in the pit. [shrug] Hands off my neice, kid!
Q: What would happen if Soos met Giffany again?
Soos: Oh yea, I recently downloaded this couple's therapy sim? Uh, I think she and I would have to talk about our issues and pass around a conversation pillow, and really work out these struggles. Cuz she's got some problems, dude.
Q: Soos, why are you so perfect?
Soos: Yeah, uh, my grandma said that a whole bunch of doves flew down and formed the shape of a perfect angel over my crib. I dunno, dude I guess I was just born that way.

Coco - Director and actors discuss this Mexican Land of the Dead delight
Disney Pixar’s new animated movie, Coco, spotlights a young boy in Mexico named Miguel (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez). He dreams about becoming a great musician and singer, like his idol the late Ernesto de la Cruz (voiced by Benjamin Bratt, Doctor Strange, Star). But his hopes are destroyed by his own family, who forbids music.
The movie is set during Mexico’s celebration of Dia de los Muertos. Here Miguel’s impulsive actions spark a mysterious event that takes him to the Land of the Dead. It is populated by generations of skeletons, including Miguel’s ancestors, where he searches for Ernesto de la Cruz. Along the way, he meets Hector (voiced by Gael Garcia Bernal, Mozart in the Jungle, Y Tu Mama) who promises to help him on his journey.
The movie was co-directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina and produced by Darla K Anderson. Lee Unkrich, Benjamin Bratt and Gael Garcia Bernal were part of the press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, where they spoke about the movie.
Coco opens on November 22nd 2017 for the Thanksgiving Day weekend. The film short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure being screened with it.

Lee, going back to the beginning, how did this project get started?
Lee Unkrich: Darla, Adrian, and I all worked on Toy Story III together. When we finished that film, I started to think about what was next. I had a few different ideas that I was kicking around. One of them was the idea of telling a story set against Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead).
I had always been interested in the tradition [and] spent some time doing research, trying to understand more than I already knew. I learned about how central family is to this celebration; Dia de los Muertos is all about this obligation that we all have to remember our loved ones, and to pass their stories along.

Benjamin, the character of Ernesto de la Cruz is very specific. How did you go about capturing his personality with just your voice?
Benjamin Bratt: The first inspiration you draw from is the image that they create. As actors, we don’t have the benefit of performing with one another. It’s a very isolating experience to be in a booth. Most of what we try to do is create something organic through action and reaction.
Clearly, (Ernesto), even in a skeleton form, has got swagger. Beyond that, Lee, Adrian and Darla pointed me in the direction of studying some of the movie clips of Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete. These were film stars, and music stars, equivalent (to) someone like Frank Sinatra. They were as beloved and admired for their singing prowess as they were for their acting chops. There’s plenty of footage to be found on YouTube.

Gael, what was it like for you to be a part of this movie that is so close to Mexican culture?
Gael Garcia Bernal: To do a project that is such a complex and transversal story, which also happens to take place in Mexico, where I’m from, was just amazing. Everything appealed to me: the music, the color, the story, the characters.
When I was a kid, I was struck by Baloo (the bear from The Jungle Book) and his laid-back philosophy on life. And I feel that in many ways, Hector doesn’t hold onto frustrations, prejudices or resentment.
The main theme to the movie is family. Were you able to relate to that aspect of it?
Benjamin: As a boy growing up, family was the center of my universe. My mother constantly reminded us of the sacrifice her grandmother made to bring her to the US.
(My) Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins emerged as characters in the stories she would share with us. (They were) unmet family members we felt we knew simply from my mother’s fond remembrance of them.

What would you like the audience to take away from this movie?
Lee: I think there’s something that’s really beautiful about Miguel’s story, and the point that he is in his life. Sometimes it takes a long time to learn the value of the things that your parents have to teach you. Sometimes it’s a struggle to realize why that applies to your life.
As you grow older, you really begin to understand and respect the sacrifices that are made for you, and you want to find a way to say thank you for all of the things that the previous generations have struggled to provide for you.
I think, Miguel, over the course of the night, grows dramatically. Hopefully, children and parents notice that, and it (starts a conversation) about the things that we’re thankful for. The fact that (the movie) comes out at Thanksgiving in the United States is a perfect opportunity for families to discuss that.
Gael: This film is for kids; (for) the Latino kids growing up in the United States, (where) it’s been said that their parents, or grandparents, or great-grandparents are rapists, murderers, drug traffickers.
All these kids are being born in a moment of huge fear, and they have to fight against the lie. And this film is gonna give kids a way to feel confident (about) where they come from; where their parents and grandparents come from. (It’s important) to know that they come from a very sophisticated culture. This film opens up that discussion. It is a beautiful reflection on death, and the celebration of life.
