NOO I GET IT NOW~ it’s like… he’s so self saboteur … allergic to being candid … so when you’re showing him you’re capable of being open with him, apologize, and even value his feelings above your own over something objectively stupid… it just, like, scares him. grappling with “it’s not that serious” vs. “i kind of actually want it to be that serious.” and the second feeling is a little more vulnerable than he’s ready to be. and worse, to resolve a stupid spat like that, you actually have to communicate honestly with the other person LMFAOOO. the idea that he’d stay up losing sleep over brainstorming how to AVOID healthy confrontation is sooo scaracore. i think this is a perfect example of the way something small can snowball with him since he’s a god awful communicator. a situation that could be solved with a heart to heart can push him to yelling or crying. it’s not like he doesn’t know what he should say, either. he has all the proper thoughts and feelings — i think he can put them into words just fine. the trouble is Saying them. he has to wrap it all up in an insult or cushion it with a “or whatever” “maybe” “probably” and other words that do nothing but dilute a sentence. like, he’s only gonna make things worse lol.

In Her Embrace (I Was King) - Steggy Fic Preview

It's Day 6 of Steggy Week at @steggyfanevents (and possibly my favourite theme) WIP & Updates!

For this one I decided to go a bit out of the box (for me at least) and share a snippet of a WIP that I haven't even started posting yet. The prologue itself is already over 10K words so it's going to be a big one, and pretty plot heavy, so I need to make sure I don't write myself into a corner three chapters in.

Fic Summary: After an Old Law is invoked, Steve Rogers is denied his rightful claim to the throne. In order for power to remain with the Rogers bloodline, he must marry a Council-approved suitor by age 27.

As the Widow who is trained from childhood to be the Crown Prince's Captain, his protector, Peggy makes it her own mission to find a way around this law - all the while vetting any potential prospects that crop up in the meantime (for the sake of the Crown, of course).

But in a desperate bid to keep Steve safe, Peggy unwittingly becomes entangled in a larger political scheme, where she learns that her enemies have been lurking in the walls of the palace itself, threatening not only their home, but also the bond that Steve and Peggy have built since they were born.

Fic Sneak Peek (Steve and Peggy are ~15 years old)

Peggy rushed through the palace halls, her heart racing as she turned the corner toward the staircase that would get her closer to the West Wing. However her trajectory was stalled when she ran into Bucky and Natasha - literally.

“Woah, what’s going on?” Bucky asked after she’d regained her balance. “Where’s the fire?”

“And where’s Steve?” Nat asked.

“Shut up,” Peggy hissed, clamping her hand over her mouth. “Someone will hear you.”

“Did you lose Steve?” Bucky asked with a raised eyebrow as she lowered her hand.

“I did not lose Steve.”

“Then where is he?” Nat cheeked.

Peggy let out a slow breath as she narrowed her eyes at both of them.

“He is in a place that I will be in very soon, and until that happens, no one is going to know that Steve left my sights for even a second. Not the Queen and especially not my mother. Or worse, Melina.”

“You’re really hard on Melina,” Natasha pointed out.

“She’s the one that’s hard on me” Peggy scoffed. “Just don’t tell her, alright? Or anyone at all? Please?”

“You know I won’t say anything, but you better find him, Carter,” Bucky told her. “Before Jarvis does.”

“I don’t need to find him, I know exactly where his Highness is.”

Without bothering to hear a response from either of them, Peggy swiftly made her way to the library in the West Wing, the one closest to Steve’s bedroom, then, upon confirming no one else was there, sprinted up the three flights of stairs to the restricted history section.

“Really, Steve?” she groaned, looking around where he had at least half a dozen books open and sprawled out on the floor around him. To his left he had his tablet that he was making notes into. “Again?”

“Hey, you found me,” he grinned before looking at his watch. “Record time, too. Only took you about fifteen years to get it under five minutes.”

“And yet you still managed to make just as much mess as usual.”

“One of my many talents,” he winked, ignoring her arched eyebrow.

Peggy snorted and shook her head as he started speaking.

“Well come on, Captain, grab a book and I’ll catch you up so you can help me find a way around this stupid law.”

She couldn’t help but smile at his use of her newly appointed title, and sat down across from him, picking up the closest book.

“You think the answer to the Council accepting you as the rightful heir lies in the War of Nations?” she asked as she glanced at the title.

“The only other time the law was invoked was right before the War began,” he shrugged. “Might just be a coincidence, but it’s worth a shot.”

“If you say so,” Peggy shrugged in agreement. The more time that passed by, the more desperate they were both becoming. She chanced another glance at Steve, who had returned his attention back to his book, a furrow in his brows.

She ignored the flip her stomach did and focused on the book in her hands in earnest.

beanie, dear, im still thinking about your fairytale au bc i love love love the notion of artist/art and usopp's "he is not in love with his sanji. but maybe this one. maybe this one is someone he can fall in love with" and sanji just is *his* sanji but differently, and sanji calling it fate, im so so weak for this, the potential of soulmates without the pressure of world dedicating soulmates, usopp setting sanji free through sheer force of imagination and love bc he loves his stories and he loves the lost prince in his stories and he deserves a happy ending, and sanji does too, and sanji's "let me have this" and maybe, probably, certainly they have known each other their whole life, have always been with each other in their hearts bc they are meant to be, and im so happily insane over this au, so thank you for planting this into my head ❤️❤️❤️

I'm so insane about it too and I am so so so glad you liked it this much!!! I was in the middle of work and somehow that idea appeared in my mind out of nowhere- Loving my brain a lot after that tbh.

This was supposed to be more of an "artist that creates sculpture/character and they come to life and fall in love" type of thing. But I think the uncertainty of it all and not knowing exactly whether Usopp made Sanji or not, but Sanji wanting to believe he did because he trusts Usopp with his own life and fate and likes to think their hearts were linked from the start... It's just beautiful. Maybe it's a mix of both things, y'know, I haven't thought that much about it.

But maybe Usopp had recurring dreams about Sanji, when he was a kid. About actual Sanji and future Sanji. And he just... Started drawing and writing and fell in love with the whole idea of him. It's sort of ridiculous and he never told anyone, but I'm pretty sure Usopp was too invested in Sanji and fell in love with him. But the dreams were always so sad and heartbreaking he wanted to give him a happy ending, so he wrote about his sister helping him escape and the guy finding another home, and suddenly the dreams started to change into something brighter and better and happier.

So maybe they were linked by heart and that's why Usopp dreamt about him, but also, maybe, Usopp had the power to change Sanji's story just by writing it down somehow. It'd also be cute if Sanji had this superhero in his mind ever since he was a kid (Sogeking) because he dreamt constantly about him saving him and once Enies Lobby happens, Sanji has to stop for a moment a process that his hero is Usopp.

i don’t really get why people wanna change the vocal roles of rv (irene rapper, seulgi main vocalist, wendy main vocalist, joy sub vocalist, yeri sub rapper) so bad. i personally think they fit very well + they vary depending on the song, which is what’s supposed to happen in a music group?? it’s just the general set-up for their songs, although it doesn’t inherently mean that’s how it’ll be all the time 😭

RIGHT? Like oh my god I love the idea of it: a mortal and immortal character falling in love, and the immortal one doing something horribly taboo for them to be together forever. But maybe they fuck something up, or maybe it's just their punishment for playing god, but their now-immortal lover Comes Back Wrong.

I'm actually not caught up on dunmeshi (I get the gist of farcille from socmed, though) but I really like an Inuyasha/Kikiyo flavor to it- Mortal lover is full of rage and hatred, immortal one can't not love them, and then they romantically and dramatically die together murder-suicide style and drag each other to hell. You know, the good shit. ☆

It is one of my ideal dynamics for a bad end pairing. And I do like necromancy shenanigans with a happier/good end, like farcille style too! Just...I don't like either situation for yingyue.

I don't think there's anything wrong with playing with them that way as long as you don't pass it off as canon, like I say all of this with no judgment. But I'm picky and I like to follow canon more closely so I can't really see them in that kind of scenario haha.

It's just! Yingxing's whole deal is that he's a haughty, spiteful, arrogant asshole of a man whose life mission is to be such a damn good craftsman that he can tell all the Xianzhou Natives who looked down on him to suck his short life species dick and flip them the bird. Him being made immortal takes all the fun out of it for me and kinda removes a central part of his character. I LOVE him being petty and full of himself. He should do it more!

And I am so so dearly enamored with the relationship between him and Baiheng. I can't write her out of the whole equation, especially considering she and Yingxing both Came Back Wrong from this incident, and she was the actual intended target.

Like. He loved her. Yingxing loved her. Baiheng was so, so important to him. She's referred to as "the beloved" in Blade's character stories. He called her his bosom friend. He handmade a jade flask just for her.

Not a weapon,

not something she needed,

not something he was doing to show off,

just a flask.

Something pretty, and just for her, something that she would like and use everyday. Not a need, but a want. He did it simply because he wanted to give her a present.

She was the first person to really encourage and believe in him. She helped him come out of his shell (so all that arrogance is her fault BSMZJMS). That animated short where they went up in her star skiff together and she called him cute fucking killed me. They make me chew concrete.

And she was really important to Dan Feng too! He wouldn't have tried to bring her back, otherwise! She died saving him. And he knew what he was doing when he chose to try to bring her back as a Vidyadhara. He had to have. There's no way he couldn't have known that his life was forfeit after this. They don't let you get away with purposely breaking one of the Ten Unpardonable Sins like that.

And he chose to do it anyway. He still chose her life over his own. Dan Feng loved her, too.

He and Yingxing both worked together to try to bring her back because she was someone neither of them could bear to lose.

So if anything, I feel like yingyue is more like larcille bringing back their beloved Falin haha

But no matter who is romantically involved with who, like. It's the love between all three of them that's important.

That's the secret ingredient that makes the triumph of Falin's rebirth and the horrific tragedy of the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae so emotional. Because these were things that could not have happened unless they all loved each other.

Hello, Cielo! After reading Godmaker I was wondering if you have any tips to write Gojo? I really like your characterization, it's really on point without abusing the clown trope, and placing him in more serious settings.

ohh anon thank you!!! this is a high compliment bc i think gojo is a tricky fellow lol

i guess any tips with him would be....maybe to be sincere?

i don't try to be "funny" with gojo, if that makes sense? i think he appears as lighthearted and while played for comedy in the manga/anime at points....i don't think there is anything extremely funny about him. so i don't attempt to make him funny. if he reads that way at points, that's okay! but i think i strive for sincerity first rather than attempting to be witty or charming.

i think he's a complicated lil nut. i try and look at him from a far away perspective before zooming in on him, if that makes sense?

at the end of the day he's a deeply lonely man with the weight of the sorcery world on his shoulders. at the end of the day he is a man that the world made into a god who wants to be a man again. so despite all the charisma and fun and silliness, i try to write that man. or that god. or at least touch on that sincerity.

i think in general and with any character, i'll always advocate at trying to find their sincerity, whatever that looks like. be earnest in your attempts to uncover them—if they're funny, it will come through in the sincerity. don't make them funny because they're supposed to be.

also. let them do the talking for you. i have found writing gojo there are points where he's sorta taken the reigns and i have simply let him 🤷

here's an oddly specific headcanon for you guys today because this has oddly been on my mind for a while, and i have to share it with someone before it leaves my mind!! but here it is: i like to think that, despite hardly EVER using her kitchen, that it is arguably the cleanest and nicest room that misao has in her house. like... i guess it could be because the kitchen is so integral to most families as a ' hang-out ' spot, i guess you could call it, and she really wants to keep up this illusion of being just as normal as anyone else and maybe — JUST maybe — she also keeps it this clean because she's hoping that she'll be able to spend some time with someone in it someday? her kitchen is also pink, by the way, but not obnoxiously so as she does have like some red / green / white mixed in with it but her cabinets... you better bet that they are the cutest darn cabinets you might have ever seen in your life because misao may or may not have gone a little overboard with decorating it. but yeah, it's both a little sad to think about and also strangely endearing because on the outside, misao doesn't really seem like the type of person who would have pink in her house but yes. she integrated it into her kitchen and i love her for it + she does in fact have two seats at her dining room table because she's hoping that one day, she'll be able to build up the courage to actually try to find ryuuji as well as apologize to him for leaving him when he needed her and they can sit at that table together just in comfortable silence together at one point. but yeahhh... misao also has, like, little animal trinkets around her kitchen shaped like insects that also serve uses. so, that's also pretty cool, i suppose.

hii 💗 love ur gifs! could u share your sharpening/exporting settings or some tips of how u prevent heavy gif compression on mobile?? because i use 540p sizing, sharpen after resizing, only using 1080p footage and above but unfortunately my gifs on mobile are quite blurry. sorry this is long but thank u in advance!

i think we pretty much have the same process – 540p sizing, sharpening after resizing + only using 1080p files and above (for huge gifs, i tend to stick with 2160p files). but, here are my sharpening and export settings ✨ (this one's for a 540x650 set so its quite big)

i tend to like sharp, grainy gifs. so, i do a first round of resizing and sharpening before coloring, then duplicate the colored layer and do another round of sharpening (if that makes sense?). ps. sharpening settings is really up to your personal tastes, imo

as for gifs appearing blurry on mobile: do they appear blurry even after you upload and click on them? sometimes, gifs do appear blurry on dash but look okay when i click on them (though if i reload my app, they end up looking okay again as is lol)

i think this has more to do with a person's connection than your gif settings? all my gifs tend to push the 10mb limit (my gifs are almost always at 9mb+) so they're quite heavy and i understand they wont always load properly immediately for everyone. ultimately tho, i think using 4k files, proper sizing, getting the coloring right + having lesser frames will help gifs load better even on mobile
