dear colorquesters,, uhm yall probably do not give 1 or 2 shits about this but uhhh

A friend of mine,, @txawv and I have made a hood au of colorquest, it is inspired by that one dandys world au made by g1are and I'd like to clear it up before explaining any further.

Basically, in said au, it doesn't take place in the canon timeline and is a bit changed. me and her have yet to exactly continue planning other than already planning out what each character will be in the au. but I will say this, the personalities of each character won't be accurate as in this au, their personalities are changed up immensely. so please dont get on me or them for making a character a thug or druggie or plug, we simply went with what we thought fit the character the best.

i did want to ask, if anyone would like to help with the au, such as some assistance with the designs and such. anything helps, or like if you wanna see the progress for it, I might make a server for it jus to check out the designs n stuff. Once all of that is dealt with,, I'll have to talk w my friend but it might turn into a lil comic? Depends. But yeah, if u wanna help or anything,, you can dm me on here, if u need my discord, dm me! ^_^

I’ve never seen such discourse on “hood” au characters. Apparently the argument is giving non black characters stereotypical black traits. But “hood” is geographical demographic. Anybody can be from the hood it’s just the stereotype of hood is black. No one is gonna read a trailer park trash au fic lmaoo and that’s just “white hood” with a hint of republican. Now what? A non black character in a lower income setting, except it caters to a white demographic. Now what u gone say? “Nah this goofy asf imma read sum else” now that wasn’t so hard.

People that get so stuck on stereotypes are such a problem. Just because ur not like every other black person and outwardly wanna be different then read sum else, it’s not in ur favor so what. Be secure in ur personality u won’t have this problem but me I stand with the hood bitches and thugs and guns but I love anime so fuckin what. Why would I give af about a stereotype if I know exactly what “type” of black person. Y’all are insecure and care too much about little shit. The only way it obscures black people is if a non black person is writing or reading I guess “hood” media. As a person of color u should know better than to think that’s what all black ppl are like.

Batman gives each of his Robins a different code to use when they’re in trouble and need immediate extraction. He promises that when they call, he’ll drop everything just to get to them, come hell or high water.

Jason, during his time with the League, shares his code with Damian, to be used “only in the direst of circumstances, when you have exhausted all other options.” He doesn’t know if Bruce will answer, given how fractured their relationship was before he died, but it is better than nothing. Every tool counts when they live such dangerous lives.

Damian uses it exactly once, and Bruce, who still feels the loss of his son like a yawning chasm in his chest, responds to it even though he knows it can’t be Jason because Jason’s dead. What he finds, instead of Jason, is a boy in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-small feet, with a face that Bruce sees himself and Talia in, requesting asylum from a grandfather who wishes to possess his body. Bruce doesn’t question how this boy who is so clearly his son knew the code. Talia al Ghul is resourceful and places family above all; the code is not beyond her abilities to discover, and she is not above using Bruce’s desperate love for his dead son to ensure that hers does not meet the same fate.

Bruce takes Damian in, because of course he does, and since Jason is dead he allows Damian to keep using the code. After all, it’s not like Jason is alive to use it, right? If someone uses the code, there’s no one it could be but Damian, right?

The next time the code is used, Bruce traces the location to Gotham even though Damian was supposed to be in Bludhaven visiting Dick. But whatever happened that resulted in Damian being in Gotham can wait, because he has already failed one son and he will not fail another, his son is in trouble and he needs to get to him, he needs to—

What he finds, instead of Damian, is a boy (just eighteen, too young, but also too old, but also he will always be a boy to him) in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-large feet (when had he gotten so big), wearing the face of his dead son.

(Who, maybe, just maybe, may no longer be so dead.)
