Personality- She's intelligent, analytical, confident, & ambitious. She loves actively pursuing knowledge. She's a lesbian and is currently dating.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of thought her other powers/abilities include telepathy, thought projection, mental manipulation (manipulating the minds of others by force or will), having an eidetic memory, and intelligence reduction.

Sophia's abode is a stylish brownstone in the Little Athens neighborhood of New Olympus. The interior design strikes the perfect balance between historic charm & modern elegance. There's a rooftop terrace with a small garden, dark oak flooring, and two ornate fireplaces. The color scheme is cream, royal blue, oxblood, & chocolate brown with wood countertops in the kitchen as well as lots of linen and leather furniture. Everything is immaculately organized.

She has a single pet, her animal companion being a she-dragon named Azurine. Most of her scales and wings are a dark cobalt while her claws, crest, & belly scales are bright copper. Azurine is Sophia's primary mode of transportation.

A go-to drink for her is tumeric tea which she brews herself. She likes to add a bit of honey and lemon juice to it. She also likes cranberry juice, hibiscus tea, homemade kale smoothies, mint infused water, champagne, martinis, & pinot grigio. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a medium iced green tea and an olympian sized mango orange splash.

Sophia always starts off her mornings with a session of acupuncture then a session with her masseuse.

Her immediate family includes her older brother Favian (god of philosophy). They have a close relationship with her bringing him meals she cooks. She secretly looks forward to their passionate conversations spanning many topics.

For breakfast her go-to is the whole wheat breakfast burrito from The Bread Box added with sliced avacado, extra spinach, and black olives. At home she'll settle for a bowl of rizogalo, a couple of lightly toasted & buttered onion bagels, or a big bowl of Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal.

The most notable feature of Sophia is her long, thick, curly, & glossy raven hair. She attributes the health of her hair to a homemade hair mask she makes (that she puts on her hair for an hour every month) made with tumeric, sweet potato, olive oil, manuka honey, mango pulp, and a few drops of the Glory's Crown healthy hair oil blend. Her other go-to product is the Hairology 2-in-1 eucalyptus & mint shampoo/conditioner.

A guilty pleasure for her the lamb gyros from Olympic Chef. She sometimes orders three or four at once!

She also loves the mandarin orange green salad (drizzled in poppy seed dressing) from The Bread Box.

Sophia' main source of income comes from being Headmistress at Polus Preparatory- a school for youngsters started by Coeus (Titan god of foresight, intellect, & knowledge). The school is in the state of Delphi, a nearly two hour ride on dragonback. She expects nothing short of excellence from her students and faculty. For other means of income she endorses/models for Threads of Wisdom (is a fan of the slingbacks and crossbody bags), Olive Visibly, & White Lily Gallery. She's also a contributing writer for O Dianooumenos.

Her favorite frozen treat is the red velvet cake ice cream waffle cone sundae from The Frozen Spoon.

Sophia's been dating her girlfriend Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature) for a few months and she really enjoys spending time with her. Their first date was an early evening stroll and picnic at Eaglepoint Park where she won Eikono over with her homemade macaroni salad. Whenever their schedules permit, they're always together. A moment of sheer bliss for Sophia is them laying in bed on a quiet lazy morning reading the paper & drinking tea.

whenever you think of a meal you'd like to make, take 3 seconds to google search it, take a screenshot of the image results, and put it in a "food ideas" folder. instant visual menu!

the concept of "meal prepping" makes me recoil but I've learned that it can simply mean preparing shredded chicken, boiled eggs, or some other simple protein that you can customize throughout the week. shredded chicken can turn into wraps, salads, pasta dishes, etc... you don't have to meal prep yourself into the same meal all week!

when I have difficulty working up an appetite, I'll scroll through my favorite restaurant menus! there might be some foods I can't make at home, but many times they're very simple to recreate because the ingredients are literally listed!

With a bored look on the face, chin resting on hand and fingers tapping on the wooden table, you were impatiently waiting for your order to arrive. "Why is it taking too long?" you pouted like a child. The man sitting across the table lowered his newspaper, took a glanced at his watched, then looked at you. "It's been only five minutes since the waitress took the order"

"Five minutes?" you protested throwing your arms in the air. The black-haired man rolled the eyes at your childish outburst and continued his reading.

You had convinced Levi to have breakfast together at the waffle shop downtown. Since the place opened at 9, you made the most of your time and went for a stroll along the port. The commercial center was the perfect place to find exotic goods from all over the world and you were looking for any eye-catching object to take back home. You bought a beautiful white silk robe from Hizuru, adorned with hand-painted flowers. Levi went straight to the spices and herbs market from the Middle-East to find rare blends. When you were about to leave, his eyes landed on a fine 21-piece china tea set and could not miss the opportunity.

"And I'm the whimsical one" You scoffed.

"Shut up"

Then, you headed to the beach. You had taken with you the camera Onyakopon had given you for your last birthday. Out of all of the objects the marleyan engineers had introduced to the islanders, the camera was your favorite. You were left utterly astonished by the artefact that could freeze time and immortalize moments. It took you some time, and wasted films, to understand the functioning and mechanism, but once you mastered it, you would always carry it with you.

While you were taking photos, Levi waited for you sitting on a rock that offered him a great view of the sea. The soft morning breeze caressed his face and ruffled his hair, his eyes fixed on the horizon. Looking back over his life, he still found it hard to believe how far he'd come. From being born in the Underground City bereft from any form of sunlight, to reaching the other side of the ocean. His eyes darted towards you, his shelter, his best friend, his confident, the light his life was missing. You looked so beautiful in that emerald green dress he had bought for you the day you disembarked in the continent.

He watched you taking off your shoes. The water was so inviting you could not resist wading along the shore.

"Oi, (name)" He called. "It's almost 9:30"

"Coming" you turned around throwing a smile at him.

Your eyes brightened in excitement when the young waitress placed the waffle in front of you. You had ordered the house special, which consisted of a round waffle with chocolate spread, topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and melted caramel; as well as a double chocolate shake to wash all down. Levi, on the other hand, had opted for something simpler: a regular waffle with honey and butter, accompanied by chai tea. You stabbed the waffle with the fork and cut a small piece you brought to your mouth. Your eyes widened as you chewed the first bite. It was perfectly balanced in texture, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy in the inside. The chocolate spread was so creamy it melted in your mouth. You cut another bite, but this time you smeared it in the ice cream and whipped cream before putting it into you mouth. Your whole face lit up.

"Levi" you swallowed. "I think I just found the new love of my life. This is even better than the crusty, cheesy thing we had last night"

"You mean pizza?"

"yup, that" You cut another piece. "I would have this for breakfast everyday"

"You'd die of a diabetic coma"

"I'd die happily, then" you took a sip of the shake. "Wow!" your brows furrowed, and you placed your hands on the sides of your head. "I think my brain just froze"

Levi snorted and a ghost of a smile flickered on his lips. You had the capacity to see the extraordinary in the most ordinary things, to find the bright side in the most humdrum situations. It was like your inner child never died. Unlike you, he had to face the most horrid things since he was a little boy, and to learn to fight at such a young age to survive in that shit hole. At some point, he thought he was not worthy of any sort of bliss. But then, you came into his life and showed him all the good things he was missing.

You and Levi spent the whole day together away from those noisy brats. You visited a couple of museums, walked hand in hand in the botanical garden, went to the shopping district; and by the end of the afternoon, you stopped at the film processing local to pick up the developed photographs from the film.

You handed him the envelope and he read the note you had just written. 'the one and only love of my life'

He drew out the photographs from the paperwrap and carefully checked each one. The ends of his mouth lifted.

He was in every single one of them.

This is just me being me....

Soooo! Levi wants to go shopping at the local farmers market. He wants to pick up some tasty food and maybe stop by a place on the way home to grab some plants for the garden.

Part of me just gets distracted, or forces myself to finish my work (not often lol) before interacting. Another part literally feels like I can't do justice to things people send me.... I'll work on that.

Anyway! Let me promote myself LOL I'll take a little inspiration from the Farmers Market fic I wrote a while ago. (this is also slightly self indulgent)

I think you'd have similar tastes and your favorites of course... Am I about to go overboard?

As far as fruit, I stand by Levi liking apples (I have a fic for that too hehe), and cherries, and fresh navel oranges. He's always got an apple or orange for lunch, or snacks on a bowl of cherries when they're in season. And loving apples as well, you're known to make tasty treats like tarts or muffins or crisps, and Levi always has his share.

You can't pass up the pineapple as well, or the blueberries and strawberries in season. Your freezer is full for smoothie ingredients. (Imma make a HC about everyones favorite fruit sometime)

Moving on to veggies, you stock up for salads and quick snacks. Bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, zucchini, yes! All of it! How can you pass up a 1.5 pound organic zucchini for $1? You can't!

You like winter squash as well like butternut for soups or acorn for stuffing...or both for muffins or casseroles! (I have recipes!)

Also potatoes for baking or mashing yourself. And they last forever.

Okay but the zucchini? You have to visit the cheese stall and get asiago or mozzarella to shred on the zucchini and pop it in the oven for 15 minutes. SO GOOD. Also feta for salads. Cheese is the bulk of your dairy as it's coconut or almond milk in your fridge.

The tea stall! Loose leaf, baggies, give us the usual black or green tea. Chamomile or sage tea, cinnamon and honey lemon, and fruity flavors once in a while like pomegranate or pear mango. :D

Oh and dried fruit and nuts! Levis a weirdo and likes dried beets and such. He can have those. The hazelnuts too. But you both like raw almonds and the nutty granola blend for days you have oatmeal and want a crunch. Sometimes you just use it as a cereal base and throw in the blueberries! Dried fruit like mango or papaya wind up in your bag too. And those apple slices!

We can't forget the bread! You have to watch it here more than anywhere. Rye or pumpernickel loafs, small rolls of sesame seed or garlic herb. Sometimes they're for breakfast and sometimes for lunch.

How about your honey and fresh jams and peanut/almond butters? Gotta have something to put between those sandwiches! Apricot preserves, orange marmalade, classic strawberry jam. (Jam spreads better then jelly!)

You know I don't know where you're going to put all this stuff LOL

Sometimes you also grab eggs, and look at the non food items like the crafty handmade woodwork or coasters (no more coasters!) or fresh bar soap like lavender!

BTW if anyone is waiting for me to throw meats in there, you're going to have to do it yourself haha sorry

Oh wait but maybe you splurge on pasta? There's so many varieties! Maybe you go for lemon garlic linguini, or sun dried tomato fettuccine. And pasta sauce made with organic tomatoes, garlic, onion, basil and olive oil. YUM!

And if you go early and don't eat breakfast, you'll get it there. Strawberry mango smoothies, waffles, guava or chocolate empanadas?? (You eat healthy all the time, it's okay to not once in a while!)

Maybe you get lunch to go like woodfire pizza, or veggie wraps and rice and beans. Yes, you have lots of food, but after lugging it around and putting it away who wants to cook? You need to take it easy for a minute!

As far as plants, more zucchini, you can never have enough. Tomatoes and whatever lettuce variety is your favorite, and fresh herbs like basil, rosemary and parsley.

Fruits are a little more tricky I think, but a fig plant can go indoors or outdoors, and fresh figs are a nice treat! Lemons and limes are a good option too, and you can use them for some flavored water or to keep cut apples fresh :D Maybe if there's room blueberries too, or plums. (and apples)

as an adult, natalia is the type of person that likes to leave high school in the rearview mirror. what happened in high school stays in high school, and might as well throw the first couple years after in with that as well. no one wants to be reminded of the kind of fool they were when they were young, right? but she's not always been like that. once upon a time, back in the great wide somewhere, nat was just a little girl who thought she had found the love of her life. why heartbreak had to stem from the corpse of her first great romance, natalia will never know - hence the rearview.

and speaking of driving away, abandonment issues, and loss of innocence; natalia's mom hit the road not too long after giving her kid a name - it is a blessing honestly that thanks to some gender dysphoria and a single supportive parent, nat doesn't even have to deal with the emotional baggage of keeping that part of her mother any longer. neither natalia or her dad have heard from her mom since, and they are probably better for it - now if only she could convince her dad of it. holding a flame for the woman who left him over thirty years ago means that her dad is still single and not at all ready to mingle, and natalia has just about given up on changing his mind.

natalia is what one might call a bit of a crunchy mom... without the kids. she's been a vegetarian since high school, dedicated to reducing her carbon footprint and eating right. between window boxes, her spare bedroom, and the tiny porch that she is able to use, she manages to have a relatively thriving garden - it's full of vegetables and herbs, with her trying her best to pick up fruit from local sources.

hadley park... the trailer park has been her home since she was just a kid - her father giving up the ghost of a more costly neighborhood, the first step in his journey of acceptance - and there was no way that she was going to give that up as an adult. she lives just a few rows down from her dad, can walk up to his house to bring dinner or pilfer his fridge, and she wouldn't change that for the world.

though natalia would probably work at the pet doctor no matter her own situation, she thinks that the fact that she has seven animals within her home definitely encourages that part of her life. it was never meant to get to this point; the first two were a choice - a kitten adopted from a house just down the street, then a shelter cat to keep the kitten company. it snowballed from there - two guinea pigs who didn't have anywhere else to go, a senior cat that would have become an outside cat otherwise, a dog whose adoption had fallen through, and finally a kitten that had been left on the side of the road. at least she has her coworkers at the pet doctor to keep her calm when one of the animals starts acting up.

How do the guys eat waffles, if at all?

Hmm well I think all of them could enjoy waffles just fine. Even the savory guys. They just wouldn’t pick sweet ingredients

Sans: he’s fine with just syrup, but sans is also just as likely to put ketchup on his waffles lol

Papyrus: he goes nutty! Walnuts, pecans and syrup is the way to go!

Star: he drowns them in powdered sugar and honey

Honey: he drowns his in honey and significantly less power sugar than Star

Red: he’s not too picky, red will take whatever ingredients are there

Edge: he likes them topped with fresh berries. Any kind

Mal: mal secretly loves whipped cream. On his own he’ll leave a mountain of it in his waffles

Cash: he’s the least likely to eat a waffle but he’s tried waffles and chicken before. And there was that one day where the insomnia was hitting hard, so cash lost all his f*cks and poured hot sauce on his waffles

Oak: literally everything and anything edible. He likes it all

Willow: nuts used to hurt his teeth, but willow does love hazelnut spread

Charm: how about some strawberries! And whipped cream of course

Sugar: he likes his with chocolate sauce!

Lord: he’s a simple guy, some fruit and butter works just fine

Mutt: he drowns his waffle in coconut flakes, almond slices, granola, and syrup and honey

Wine: waffles aren’t really on his favorite list, but he has poured gravy in them before

Coffee: in a perfect world coffee would be eating a couple scoops of ice cream with a small waffle on top

Pop: blueberries!! And a lemon slice!

Rythm: he’s going to second the lemon. He’ll add a spoonful of sugar too

Pluto: he adds a bit of cream and butter but not much else

Jupiter: he’ll have a stack with a layer of strawberries in between each. Waffles are a favorite at the fire station

Peaches: he fkn Ioves waffles. Peaches plate consists of half waffle and half cut up fruit and nuts lol. And he can eat loads

Rancher: same as peaches but with half the amount of waffles

G: if he’s late to work, eggo waffles are his go to. He eats them plain as he drives

Green: he butters his and adds a dash of cinnamon

Snipe: he’ll eat them however boss or slim made them. Those two are the cooks of the house. Snipe isn’t picky

Bruiser: he loves to drown his in syrup and apple slices

Ace: he has a stash of butterscotch sauce he uses on his sweet meals

Slim: he likes his extremly sweet. Candied strawberries, cranberries, syrup and powdered sugar

Butch: same as snipe. He’s not that picky

Boss: he dumps cinnamon sugar all over his. Anything boss can put cinnamon on gets loaded up

Rust: he’ll take any ingredients that aren’t too chewy. There’s a lot of scars in his mouth where food can get stuck sometimes

Noir: he also likes his with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce

Lilac: same as Star basically

Basil: he has a fondness of mint, so along with the honey, basil will ad some mint sprigs from his garden

I had this mental image a long, long time ago (that of the Cornys being treated like sausages by a Papython dressed in an apron and chef's hat) and this exact passage written several and several months ago.

The story just didn't develop (I only had that stretch in mind and nothing else) until today. I just sat and wrote it. Without any planning! It just flowed from the mind to the keyboard.

(And there is proof that stories have a life of their own and want to be told)

So there it is. A small snippet of what I imagine to be one day at the Vex adoption store.

Summary: It was a beautiful sunny day at Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic

It was a beautiful sunny day at Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic.

After several days locked up due to the rains, the dark clouds had finally dispersed and the lamias could go out and enjoy the sun. And enjoy they would.

The Kings had already gone out with some Papythons to check the back garden and see how the plants had fared and the possible care they would have to give to the flower beds.

The Pygmys left next. They spread out quickly, happy to have more space for their zooms. In a short time they entered a friendly competition to see who could go faster and dodge the largest number of remaining pools of water (needless to say that in their excitement many forgot that they should dodge and soon it was confusing even for them if the competition was for deflect or pass through as many puddles as possible).

Even Edgar had taken advantage and taken the current clutcher for some fresh air. He set up a small children's pool with Waffle's help and watched with affection the young Kraits gliding in the few inches of water inside.

The day was heating up fast, so he didn't care about the gentle breeze blowing, but even if the heat of the sun wasn't enough, the Kraits' counterpart, a group of FireRing puppies (all huddled safely in the older skeleton, and away from spatter caused by his brothers) they pleasantly warmed the air (a little uncomfortable for the feathered skeleton that carried them, but what was a little discomfort to see the happy faces and hear the chirps of the babes?) and protect the lamias more delicate.

His son Quetzl, a rare winged Papython hybrid, is happily strolling through the garden, avoiding the puddles and wandering Pygmys, happy to just be outdoors and be able to spread his wings after the last few days confined.

But not all lamias were enjoying their “new freedom” from the prison of bad weather outdoors. Some preferred to stay inside, enjoying the sun from a drier and more comfortable place.

This was the case with the Mambas who had gathered in front of one of the store's large front windows, dragging soft cushions and positioning themselves in them as a particularly expensive display of jewelry. They enjoyed the sun safely, away from possible puddles of cold water or mud (the mud could be beneficial to the skin they had read, but after a bad experience with worms trapped in rib cages, they all agreed that it was better to try the muds the type that came in cosmetic pots and not the natural one found in gardens).

They took turns in positions that were not always practical, but that always captured the sun's rays perfectly to make their well-polished scales shine.

In the other window a large barbecue grill had been set up and a full size Papython with an apron and a chef's hat turned over, with the help of a silicone spatula, several Cornys that slept on the grill. Below them, at the bottom of the grill, a group of miniature FireRings rested, enjoying the sun without worrying about the dangers of water splashing by Pygmys aimlessly and giving the illusion that the barbecue grill was really burning (that in a way, it really was).

The fact that they were being heated, both above by the sun, and below by the fire lamias (which perfectly regulated their temperature so as not to burn or overwhelm their friends above or themselves), made the blue noodles purr with satisfaction (more than one with a noise very similar to hot fat sizzling on the coals).

Above them, in a corner of the window, someone had attached a poster that could be read outside the store:

“Hot Corny free!”

"Adopt before they pop!"

The ad should be working because one of the small noodles had already found an owner (who had received it nestled in a hot dog bun and a pun: "Sorry kid, but there is no more spice for extra accompaniments").

The skelepuppers, Honey and Poff had also left early, accompanying a small group of Corals who were going to explore the garden to see if there was anything interesting brought by the winds, or dug up by the rain, to be added to their treasures.

The Corals, of course, made it clear that THEY were accompanying the young to supervise them on their adventures (and if they secretly expected some praise and pats as rewards for their work, nobody really needed to know).

The puppies spent a few hours exploring the garden with the other bittys and after a while they rushed in to offer Vex a beautiful flower each, who would have been even happier with the presents had the pups not left a trail of muddy paws behind .

While Waffle took two squirming puppies for a bath, Vex cleaned up the dirt left by them. The Kraits were subsequently summoned and with their abilitys they set up a kind of cleaning station, almost a jetty for bittys, at the entrance for when the other residents decided to go back inside (Of course, those who used it most ended up being the Kraits themselves who could not resist an experience with water and bubbles. They said it was all a quality test, but they didn't even cheat the baby Butter).

Belle and her gang had also left and with mud war paintings and flower “helmets” they had ambushed one of the flowerbeds, leaping over a full-sized King who had inflated his hood of true fright at first, but soon entered a the kidding and let himself be “captured” by the smaller lamias.

Upon hearing the commotion some Chains had appeared worried and now watched amused the dramatic King lying on the floor regretting his luck while Belle, the leader of the Commanders, stood on her ribcage and proclaimed her defense to the kingdom of weeds against the cruel giants that plucked them. Some other Kings looked somewhat divided between laughter and concern (of being the next targets).

Lieutenant Cherry, Belle's right-hand man, watched everything from a strategic point on a fence that bordered a flower bed, gave the alert of enemy attack when a group of Pygmys came together and charged against Belle's troops in defense of the giant friend (who was beginning to realize that him would probably be lying on the floor for some time).

Soon there were mud and small, harmless bone attacks flying through the garden while the two “armies” clashed under the watchful eyes of the rest of the “gardeners” and the fans composed of the Chains, the babys (that Edgar had to control so they could just watch and not run to play. Although the attacks are harmless he didn’t want to risk any of them being run over by some more distracted adult) and the Corals who stopped looking for treasure and started watching with interest, offering some not so innocent advice and incentives (quickly silenced by a fierce look from Edgar who did not need impressionable young people to learn such language).

As the garden turned into a small war field, the Honeys Bo finally woke up and emerged from their warm nests to discover that the dark clouds were gone. They looked a little cross-eyed at the bright sky and the floating white clouds and with smiles of satisfaction packed their things and went to the front of the store, spreading out in the entrance with their mp3's. Soon they were dozing again, lulled by the lazy movement of the clouds and their soundtracks of choice.

Chains had spread throughout the store and beyond. Some had gone out and scanned the surroundings (to see if there were any bitty nearby who had had a problem with the rains and maybe slip in their soul bonds, who knows?), or around the house to check if there was any damage. These were later attracted to the Commanders' war cries and now watched the battle with amusement.

Some of those who went to look around the neighborhood came back a while later, alone or accompanied by some Chain that had not been able to reach the store before because of the rain, or some Bitty who was injured or had his nest/den damaged by bad weather and were temporarily homeless (and at least one dragging an adopter to sign the adoption papers while his soul shone with the new bond).

Those who stayed in the store spread out to help the other lamias or Vex herself by temporarily taking over the reception while it cleaned up the mess of messy, but good-hearted, puppies. They even guiding one or another adopter or visitor through the store (and more from one to the bathroom to clean up when they decided to take a look at the back garden and was hit by a stray mud missile).

A group joined the Honeys Bo at the front, hoping to feel their soul's call by a passerby and at least three thanked Vex and other lamias and left the store shelter to begin or resume their travels in search of their Soulbonds.

Vex, after cleaning the dirt and arranging a small vase for the two flowers given as a gift, went to check on Waflle with the puppies, leaving the reception with a Chain that was talking to a visitor and inviting him to take a look at the Mambas (almost like a salesman persuading a customer to take a look at a pair of diamond earrings from an exclusive line).

She went to look at the bathroom, but didn't find them there. Passing the kitchen she heard a commotion and decided to take a peek inside.

The skelepuppers were sitting at the end of a table, each equipped with a wooden spoon that they scraped in a large bowl between them. Baby Butter was further back with his own wooden spoon and his face and little hands all soiled with the contents of the bowl.

Waffle watched them fondly and with a little frustration. He had just bathed the two puppies (a task not so easy) and although the two managed to keep the dirt restricted to the face (nothing that a damp cloth would not solve) the same could not be said of his son who had smeared himself whole. Apparently today would be his day to bathe messy puppies.

Syrup was in its place at the top of Waffle's skull, and although, from time to time he turned and looked at his son with pure love, he was more focused on the rest of the kitchen leaving the watchman / baba service to his companion.

The Mamba watched the Papythons prepare the meals of the day, giving occasional orders and handing out tasks like a tiny Gordon Ramsay (but without the name-calling).

He had taken refuge in the kitchen with Butter early, the promise of treats being the best tactic to keep a child well-behaved and indoors (Butter was a very good puppy, but still a puppy and a much bigger one than Syrup, which sometimes made it a little difficult to control. Nothing that an incredible Mamba and an even better father couldn’t handle. But even Syrup had to admit that preventing a child, no matter how well behaved, and who had passed the last few days trapped between four walls, do not run outside and immediately throw yourself into puddles, it was a big challenge to be done without some dirty/sweet tactics).

But as soon as he entered the kitchen, and saw the larger lamias at work, he couldn't help but notice that the Papythons (even though they were very hardworking and competent in their jobs) urgently needed some help. And who would be better to help them than he, a wonderful and super competent Mamba? So he started to command them.

The Papythons were astonished with gratitude (in other words they had no idea how to deal with the little bossy snake and its smiling baby), staring at him paralyzed as he wandered around the kitchen inspecting and giving tips and orders (some half-senseless. They were not cooking no veal and it was certainly celery and not turnips) until the gigantic King appeared, with a grumpy puppy under each arm, and seeing the Papythons' desperate face (who absolutely did not want to be rude to someone who was obviously trying to help) came to the rescue.

Depositing the puppies on the table and helping his son to climb, he leaned over to pick up a bowl with leftover cake dough and whisper to one of the orange lamias that they just worked normally and when Mamba gave an order they just shouted “Yes Chef!". Straightening up, he took the bowl to the chicks and gave each one a spoon.

After that, things flowed like water. Syrup rose to the top of Waffle's skull and with a privileged view began to dictate more and more orders. The Papytons just shouted their agreement and continued to work normally (although some of the commands like: “Stir this soup more willingly!” and “Watch the egg point!” were really followed) little Mamba was swelling with pride when see everyone working so diligently under your command.

Waffle just delighted in the pleasure of his little love and the contentment of his son and puppies with his makeshift snack.

Vex watched in amusement for a few minutes. Syrup when he noticed Vex, shouted that the food would be ready in 5 minutes, while a Papython in the background made a movement with his hand indicating that it would take longer than the five minutes predicted by Mamba. She left them after that and went back to the reception, just in time to take a call about an old adopter wanting to pay a visit later and maybe get a new mate.

Before long, she would go to the back garden and give a "cease fire" when announcing lunch. The fighters would go through the car wash to get in and eat.

Edgar would collect the babys (letting the Kraits babies enter the car wash accompanied by adult Kraits. Not that they needed it, but it would be a good experience for the little ones to see what kinds of things they would be able to do, and more, as adults) and also would enter.

The Chains would enter, or the Papythons would take the lunches to them and the Honeys Bo and take the opportunity to have lunch under the sky, forming in a mixture of various warm and inviting shades of orangein front of the store.

The Mambas will take a break from their show and the Cornys... well they will continue to sleep, but they will still eat (somehow) their meals. Papython "cook" will remove the FireRings from the bottom of the grill and they will have lunch by the pool with the Kraits while these tell how their newest invention works.

Later on, there will be new visitors and potential adopters. The Corals will polish their new treasures and perhaps some will find their way, unconsciously, to the nest of some other lamia (and hopefully, the hands of some adopter).

When the afternoon progresses, and the weather gets a little cool, the Honeys Bo and the Chains will come in and seek the warmth of their nests or a companion for an afternoon nap. It may be that new Chains appear and others leave, being attracted by a mysterious and insistent pull on their souls.

The Pygmys will play with their hunting toys and may be able to convince some Mambas and even some Kings to join together (the Kings throwing the toys for the Pygmys to catch and the Mambas to attack).

The Commanders will gather in their nest, plotting new battle plans while Cherry takes inventory of their spoils of war (a toy mouse washed but still stained with mud, 2 snail shells, several helmets half shattered and already withering, a bag of seeds, some candy wrappers and several paper clips that they picked up on the way back to the nest).

The Cornys will return under the anti-poison refrigerator (or more precisely, they will be replaced by the helpful Papython who had taken them out that morning) where the Grillbitty (who had spent the day at the bottom of the kitchen oven, sleeping in perfect peace and quiet thanks to the comfortable and soothing noise from the oven flames. He loves his companions Corny, he really does, but even he needs a break from all the snoring, puns and fart pads every now and then and with everyone trapped in the same space for the past few days, he more that he needed some time alone and in silence) awaits you with his warm welcome.

Perhaps more at night, when the last visitor leaves and the store closes, Vex will go to the recreation room and put on a movie to watch. Honey and Poff will curl up on each side, while the Papythons distribute soft blankets and hot chocolate to the lamias who decide to join them.

Or maybe she reads a little while the wind is blowing outside. The Kings curled around her listening intently, their hoods vibrating softly to suppress the excitement with the story or the new word learned.

Edgar, with Quetzl wrapped around his neck, can bring the babies, who will sleep before the end of the story, but until then they will hear ecstatic and thirsty to absorb more about the world, real or imagined, contained in the pages.

Regardless of what she chooses, Waffle will sit with your baby in your arms and your love around and enjoy the peaceful night and the pure happiness of being with those she loves. He and Syrup will watch the baby Butter coo for colorful figures on TV or let out occasional “Mwah!” at strategic moments in history.

But this is later, for now Vex welcomes a new adopter, listening carefully to be able to help them find the best lamia companion possible.

It's just another day like so many others in the store. The sun is shining outside, birds are singing, flowers are blooming and bittys are up and having fun. On days like this, Vex is sure that many of his dear noodles will find a good home and a happy family, and even those who not (by choice or because it was not yet time), they will always have a safe place in the store and good friends to share.

A welcoming home and a loving family was what Vex's Lamia Bittybones Adoption Center and Clinic really was.

Do you prefer eating ice cream in a cup or cone? Cup. I take way too long to finish, so it gets too messy otherwise. A waffle bowl is a good alternative as well.

What color lipstick do you think looks best on you? I never wore lipstick that often, but if I did I liked nudes, light pinks, and a pop of red now and then. 

Are you romantically in love with someone right now? No. 

What color would you like to dye your hair? I’ve been dyeing it red the past few years. I’m a year overdue (a year and 3 months now...) and in serious need of getting it done, but sigh. I don’t know when that will be at this point. I haven’t had the energy or motivation and my hair is a mess and gah. Part of me just wants to whack it off. COVID played a role in not getting done, but I’ll be completely honest it’s a small role. I could have at some point or at least settled for a box dye in the meantime, but nope. Ughhh. It’s bad.

What is a food you’d like to try? *shrug* I’m so picky and particular and basic so I stick to the same few foods.

What’s the last thing you bought for yourself and for someone else? For myself, food. I also bought coffee for my brother and I not too long ago.

What’s the last gift you received? The aforementioned flowers.

Is there anything that’s been on your wishlist for a long time that you still want? Not at the moment that I can think of.

Do you prefer breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Lunch and dinner.

What’s your favorite sandwich? Bologna with Colby Jack cheese, extra mayo, some mustard, and spinach or turkey, salami, Colby Jack cheese, extra mayo, and some mustard.

What’s the last song you listened to? Worship music during my church’s livestream this morning.

What colors look best on you? I like to wear and feel comfortable in black.

What makes you feel the most guilty? I feel guilty about a lot of things. Especially these days.

Do you bother with skincare products? No. :X

What’s currently on your desk? I don’t have a desk. Well, my bed is basically my desk since I have my laptop, chargers, and Bible study stuff (books, notebook, a pencil case with my pens, highlighters, white-out). 

Do you prefer… popsicles or ice cream? Cupcakes or cake? Cheesecake or shortcake? Ice cream, cupcakes, cheesecake.

What was your dream wedding like as a kid compared to now? I wasn’t the kid that dreamt of their wedding and I’m not the adult that does either. I don’t even see myself getting married.

What’s something you wish you were talented at? Something.

What’s the scent of the last perfume, body spray, lotion, body wash, and hand soap you used? I haven’t used perfume or body spray in awhile so I don’t recall at the moment. I use Caress body soap, which smells like....clean? soap? I don’t know? The last hand soap I used smells like strawberry lemon.

Do you consider yourself romantic? No.

When’s the last time you received a greeting card? Hmm. I don’t recall.

Do you play video games? If yes, what are you playing now? It’s been awhile. I was hooked on Animal Crossing all last year, but fell off earlier this year for some reason.

What are you hungry or thirsty for right now? Nothing at the moment.

Who do you live with? My parents, brother, and doggo.

What color are the walls and carpet in your bedroom? White walls and tan carpet.

What’s your favorite candle scent? I like B&BW’s autumnal scents.

Do you prefer… sunshine or moonlight? Gardening or baking? Flowers or succulents? Moonlight, baking, flowers.

Do you use emoji when you text or type online? Sometimes.

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? Not much. Never enough.

What do you prefer in your salad? I like to add spinach, shredded cheese, olives, croutons, tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs. 

Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? I have a few that sit on my bed.

How do you take your coffee? Just like my metal. Nah, I need flavored creamer or cream and sugar.

What’s the last book you read? I’m currently reading, The Girl and the Unlucky 13 by AJ Rivers. It’s the 13th book in the series.

Do you think you drink enough water daily? No, definitely not.

What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas.

What did you have for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks today So far I’ve just had two over-easy eggs, two pieces of buttered toast, and a cup of coffee.
