So, I can officially say, Gem is probably the most adaptive to the wildcard, it basically means nothing to her
Session one: basically stays default height the whole time
Session two: instantly figures out the eating thing and easily adapted whenever it randomized
Session three: one of four people who didn't die to their snail
Session four: instantly figures out that everything is going to be extremely fast by the end
Session five: one of the only two people who got no questions wrong
Session six: wasn't even her biggest problem, it was people, who also weren't really threats
Session seven: literally got watcher abilities and gathered useful information and to even kill her, it needed four attempts, an obsidian box, a teleporter, an obsessed with killing her Pearl, a red bigb to start it, and a beast boy green Scott to finish her since no one else would, which he then just says is "freeing her from the shackles of green" and Gem's first thought is "I get to kill so many people now!" Also, Gem still almost escaped before Scott took over, so if she were a bit faster with the water, she could have very well survived that too
Episode 8: Honestly, she did so well, and I've already talked about how well she handled the wildcards before, and considering this was just repeat wildcards, you get the point, I wish she won, but I'm glad someone in the family won at least, now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to exterminate an entire race of vexes
I was making addendums to this list two days after whenever each session uploaded so I could keep track of how well she handled everything so I would edit this from time to time, but obviously, the season has come to a close, so no more edits

Unhinged™
(inspired by this post by @leniisreallycool. the pure madness of obey me is the reason why I typically write chaotically-comedic slice-of-life scenarios; because i can honestly write these guys doing the stupidest things and argue that it might as well be canon, these dorks. anime canon, tho. the anime is just another beast of its own to the game ahahaha.)
(so while this may not be anime canon-level obey me content, i hope it comes close. if they’ve actually done any of these and i just haven’t experienced it in-game yet, let me know! it only proves my point.)
There was a time when Solomon brought an extremely-long baguette everywhere with him, insisting it was his magic wand. Even as the days turned to weeks, and the bread crust turned to mould, Solomon would still carry it around everywhere; unbothered by the rancid smell and waving it like a idol group light-stick whenever he spoke an incantation. Then, one day, he showed up at RAD with sandwiches to share. Sandwiches… with suspiciously green and white bread. Turns out, this whole thing was Solomon’s interpretation of dry-aging.
Belphegor and Asmodeus have an ongoing vlog series on Deviltube called ‘Beauty Sleep’. They go somewhere trendy, find some inappropriate place for Belphie to sleep, and Asmo takes some #aesthetic shots whilst timing how long Belphie can nap before being kicked out. It’s incredibly popular and sometimes features cameos from the exchange students and the other Avatars of Sin. Once, a subscriber milestone came with a special surprise: a live-streamed episode of Beauty Sleep in the Demon Lord’s Castle! They never got caught, because Diavolo was busy watching the livestream in his room - too invested to realise it was his own house.
The dining table in the main room of the House of Lamentation has its own fandom on the DevilNet. There are multiple fansites speculating the exact materials used to make it; the exact number of fasteners it uses; and, most especially, its exact length. There are posts, blogs and entire DevilTube deep-dive videos centred around the mystery of how long the table is. This is because, in every piece of media involving the table, it appears a different length despite the decorations and location remaining the same. What the Devildom doesn't know is that the table was made retractable shortly after MC arrived in the Devildom. It was a custom job, done solely so that the table could be used as a runway for a makeshift fashion show (Asmo and Mammon's idea) the brothers held with human world clothes one time MC was feeling homesick.
Once, for a whole month, Mammon dedicated himself to creating a new currency. For the first week, he was an absolute menace, stealing metal objects (like small screws or unused kitchen utensils) around the house to melt down and form into coins of his own design. Beel cried for five days over the lack of cutlery and Asmo kept shrieking whenever he realised he’d had another piece of jewellery had been stolen from him. The rest of the month was spent attempting to rope people into investing; then failing; then celebrating because he had so much of his money to himself; and finally crying because none of it would be accepted at stores.
When he had first gotten into reading books, Satan started a website called ‘Ampbook’ where demons could upload personal writing projects, as well as comment on and share them, too. It’s now incredibly popular, especially amongst younger demons, and is well-known for romance. Well. Much to Satan’s chagrin, it was actually better-known for romance… and fanfiction. He’s constantly torn between allowing his beloved site users their freedom of expression, or immediately taking down any fanfics shipping MC with any of his other brothers. He’s also faked MC x Satan as the most trending tag, permanently.
The height of Beel’s appreciation for Leviathan was shortly after MC’s arrival into the Devildom. They had introduced Levi to an anime centred around four students in a high school swimming team; including a protagonist who Beel thought had a dubiously-intimate love of water. Regardless, Levi tried out for the RAD swimming team - got in and won a bunch of gold medals - and then proceeded to quit the team after a new, different anime he had been waiting for came out. All in the span of a week. To Levi's disdain, Beel brings this up at least once a month: by parading a handmade display of Levi's medals and a framed photo of his older brother in a swimsuit around RAD, showing it off to everyone who asked. And everybody asked. Maybe not so much for the medals.

Was it even Jin's video that got posted???
I've been staring and trying to make sense of the angles in Keng's office for the past hour so I decided to do a write up and see if I can make sense of it... something is WEIRD.
Tumblr media
WARNING: this post contains screenshots of SA, all those will be below the cut:
So when we as the audience are shown the shots of Keng and Non, we're shown two different angles. The first one, when Jin first opens the door, is of Keng and Non's legs. The second is of their heads/faces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In earlier episodes we're shown a bit more of the layout of Keng's office, shown here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the angles just... don't make sense? When you analyze them. Like for example, here's what we see in episode 6 when Non comes to see Keng. The angle shown is of Non leaning decently far into the room, and then still only being able to see Keng above the barrier
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When the video is uploaded to social media, we see this as the thumbnail, which appears to be shot at a low angle BETWEEN the two barriers. But that angle doesn't make sense when shot from the door.
Tumblr media
You can see it in this shot of Jin recording, it looks like the extruding corner is in the way of whatever he's shooting.
Tumblr media
Not to mention, in the shot of Non showing up to that office, the book shelf is pretty obtrusive of the view of what's happening. It seems like, in order for the shot of their heads to be what's shown in the thumbnail, the person would've had to be further into the room
Tumblr media
Add on to that, the couch itself is way too small for someone to be able to see around the barrier one way AND the other way. So basically it was impossible for someone at Jin's angle to see BOTH the legs around one end of the barrier AND the heads around the other.
Tumblr media
With the corners, the bookshelf, and the angle in mind, it seems to me that the only angle it makes sense for Jin to have seen and recorded without going further into the room is that of the legs, not their faces...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Especially since he records low, but the thumbnail picture is basically the same height as the couch... which to me, looks lower than where Jin is holding the camera
Tumblr media
Conclusion: ????
Honestly I'm not sure. Maybe this was just BOC getting clever with their angles and shooting and they didn't think people would dissect the layout of the room this hard. I AM sure that Jin could only reasonably see the legs or the faces and not both.
And as I said above, the angle of the door and bookshelf and barriers lead me to believe that Jin could've only really seen their legs But then that brings up the question of how did Jin even know it was Non? He's angry enough that it seems like he did... unless he's angry in a completely different direction and is mad that a teacher is taking advantage of a student, but that doesn't seem to fit either, since the anger on his face seems personal...
Plus I want to bring this back. Top saw Keng and Non together and texted Tee that he knew where Non got the money. They could've guessed or spied on them to guess what Keng asked for in exchange. And who has the money to set up a hidden camera JUST to screw over Non? Por. I'm not saying that's definitely what happened, but Por HATES Non and wanted to get rid of him. I don't doubt Por/Top/Tee would hesitate to release that tape of Non if they got the opportunity...
Tumblr media
I'm definitely grasping at straws, but something about this whole situation doesn't feel right. Jin isn't shown to post the video himself, in fast there's discrepancies from what's shown on his computer screen vs what's shown of the person uploading the video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Changing a computer from light mode to dark mode is incredibly easy so I don't know why they would've left a mistake like that instead of fixing it in post-production. Plus it looks to me like Jin is looking at the already-posted video and crying over it, not that he's posting it himself (first screenshot is from the BTS for this episode btw).
I've been on the "Jin didn't post the video" train the entire time for a couple of reasons:
Jin isn't shown to click the button, only sit at his laptop, cry, and then eventually spill alcohol on it and short it out. If the writers wanted us to hate Jin then they would've just shown him posting it so that we could deal with the fact that he's a shit person. They didn't do that, so I don't think that Jin posted the video.
Because in episode 4, Flukes yells at Tee that he knows what they did, and he names both the broken camera AND the released video... but Jin wasn't present in this scene. Why yell it at Tee if Jin is the one who both took the video and posted it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But with the question of all the angles shown and the doorway and bookshelf it makes me wonder... was the video even Jin's?

I think in a year we'll look back at our time with Idol Land and think of it like a weird dream. A time when there wasn't a Pretty Series show announced and everything was in limbo. A time where King of Prism was a dead franchise. A time when songs were performed at Pretty Series live shows that wouldn't premier in the anime for years. The game teaser in every single Pretty Series announcement only for it to be delayed again. The YEARS long gap between episodes 2 and 3. The DISASTROUS launch. When we realized it was just a reskinned version of the switch game. Or when we discovered that it was mostly made by some unrelated dev who had only made one failed mobile otome game before Idol Land.
The Pretty Series' pivot to focusing on AiPri & KinPri instead of Idol Land & DanPri makes the past few years of Idol Land content, and the past less than a year of Idol Land actually being out, feel like an illusion.
It's frustrating because the concept of a PriPara mobile game sounds fantastic! When I play games like SIF2 or Idolish7 or whatever I think about what could have been. Was it money problems? or time problems? Or some combination of both. Regardless I can't help but yearn for a game with a budget that this franchise deserves.
And the web anime was great! But only 12 episodes, and its own budget problems, plus the games delay keeping it finished and in limbo for 2 years! (+ the lack of any western fansubs picking it up, seriously how is do we still only have subs for up to episode 6) meant that it never got the place in the spotlight it deserved. Some people speculated that it was meant to air on TV because the episodes are formatted as such, but with AiPri starting in that slot the same month the show is ending that doesn't seem to be true.
It's hard to say where PriPara is going from here. It's the series 10th anniversary and the arcade game is being shuttered to push players towards AiPri Verse instead. Idol Land's anime finale is going to air to little applause because it's stuck on an app with less than 20,000 active users, and in the same month as the launch of the new series that's slated to be a real PreCure competitor.
Idol Land's EOS hasn't been announced yet, but the missing Nino birthday coord, the April monthly update with entirely rerun coords, and the fact that Idol Land is getting very VERY close to running out of content from the switch game. Well, if not EOS I expect this game to go into maintenance mode pretty soon.
Yeah idk what my point here was exactly, but man Idol Land really was a blur. Sometimes I think we understate exactly how inexperienced the devs really were. The game doesn't have any type of Google Play integration, and when the game launched the account recovery only lasted 15 minutes. I have a newer phone and the game isn't compatible with my hole punch front camera. There's just a black bar there. I only have this problem with older games, anything made in the last 4 years doesn't have this problem except for Idol Land. I honestly think the lack of region locking is because the dev doesn't know how to turn it on. Someone on discord reported that they've been buying gold, and then contacting Google and asking for a Play Store refund. It's worked multiple times and they are not banned. How is a ban for chargebacks not something they implemented day one. Also this game doesn't have any deals or discounts, ever. It's hard to believe that, like every game I've ever played has a buy two and get 50% off the second one bundle. But it's like the devs don't know how to implement anything past basic gacha mechanics. I could also ramble about how expensive the prices are, but I've done it before I won't do it again. Also the photo room, it's implemented pretty badly. You upload a photo for the background and it crops it weird and squishes it and makes it blurry. I didn't know this at launch because it was a paid feature for like six months. The pass itself was a horrible value unless you were buying it specifically to get the episodes early, you got exactly how the amount of gold you paid for. Why not just buy the gold then. But they either realized that, or were preparing for end of service; because they took it down. I'm rambling about things the devs messed up but I haven't even mentioned the first three months of the game. There's been so many points in this game's history where playing a promise was borderline impossible for one reason or another. This game didn't feel finished until that November update that included immediate promises. God there's so much more. The photo competitions just being about editing for some reason. Also they went away, so clearly those didn't work. The amount of coords they've implemented that were broken in some way. Sometimes it was the wrong coord entirely, sometimes the cylume didn't work. It's like the dev team is so small that there's no QA people. Also on that note, Open Dream Land was just fixed in the mid March update. The game went more than 6 months where one of its two unique charts was off sync. Also remember the voice bug, that lasted forever.
I'm sorry I just started rambling lmao. This is the problem when I write posts with speech to text, I say way too much. Ultimately I enjoyed my time with Idol Land, but it's existence feels surreal. Especially because 80% of the features from this game I can turn on my switch after end of service and play, and it's free because I already paid once and never have to pay again. I even have Waku Waku O'Clock on Switch. One day, probably soon from the way things are going, I'm going to wake up and not be able to play Idol Land on my phone ever again. But instead of reminiscing of this game, I will think about the game that could have been if Idol Land got as much love as Prism Rush did.

Not gonna name any names, but I really feel like a lot of times these days, when it comes to people who make content online that involves reviewing a piece of media, they really don't know anymore how to make an unbiased critique of said media..... Yes, I am once again talking about some people who criticize Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, but I am able to tell the difference when someone is giving a genuine well worded critique of either show, versus people who let their bias show the entire time without giving any actual criticism about how either shows could be improved. It really annoys me too when it's a video on YouTube or Tiktok, and I end up clicking away from the video because the person who uploaded it is just talking in a really angry tone the entire time, because like...... dude, you're allowed to point out flaws you see, but why are you getting so mad about it? By letting everyone hear how much something in a show you're trying to critique pissed you off, you're making it harder to get your point across and make a constructive argument, and therefore making it hard for others to take you seriously as a critic.
It's not just Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss critics that made me want to talk about this though. Just yesterday my YouTube feed recommended me a video someone made reviewing an episode of the 2012 TMNT show..... and I clicked away after about 2 minutes for 2 reasons; one being that when April complained about how tired she was from ninja jumping across roofs with the turtles so much, the person who uploaded the video spent said 2 minutes just ranting about how she took dance classes and how rough they are and how April wouldn't survive them....... something which has NOTHING to do with you reviewing a TMNT episode. Like, it's one thing if you're making a comedic roast about April, but you're making a review about a TMNT episode, why do we need to know about your experience with dance classes? This is TMNT, not Angelina Ballerina. That, and after those 2 minutes, I just knew the whole video was gonna be that person just hating on April for 10 whole minutes. Look, I don't really like 2012 April either, but do we really need 10 whole minutes of someone just hating on her for a video? Those are 10 minutes that could have been spent making or doing something else, instead of expressing an unhealthy hatred for a fictional character.
I have a feeling the person who made said TMNT video is really young, and one person in general that I came across on YouTube that makes Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel "critique" videos is about 18, and they also spend a lot of their time just talking about how much parts of the show piss them off..... and I have to know, are schools just not teaching kids how to make constructive arguments without showing their bias anymore, or do they just not care?
Honestly, if you want to watch genuinely good review content, just watch MangaKamen and urickalsaladbar on YouTube. Both are way better at making constructive criticism towards the content they review, and they actually make you think about how stories can be improved and made good, instead of just raging about their problems the entire time.

I know I've been on this project for over a year now and I keep saying I'm nearly done but I really do think I've nearly finished ripping my entire DVD collection plus (almost*) every random piece of media I have saved to assorted usbs and hard drives to one massive google drive (plus also some VHS rips) this time. Problem is every time I think I'm nearly done I either acquire more stuff or unearth more discs and drives I'd forgotten about from somewhere. I’m planning to go to a car boot sale in the week as well. Shit.
*Things I have saved to hard drives that I haven't uploaded to the drive because I doubted anyone would be interested but I could if someone really wanted them:
A few episodes of Blue Peter
A few episodes of Come Dine With Me recorded off the telly
A single episode of The Dog Ate My Homework
A whole bunch of raw untrimmed unsorted through footage of the CBBC channel circa 2016/2017 from when I first became terrified of stuff just disappearing forever and used to record for hours every day for a bit, mostly to capture the presenters between the shows. I've honestly no idea what's in there. Maybe if I do upload it someone else can help sort through and organise it. If there's even space in the drive tbh

im so obsessed with the Nursery Verse discourse on tiktok. long post incoming, this became a whole article on accident
recap: thenursery_nurse is a one-woman tiktok/facebook series made by a woman named Charlotte that started as the woman's recounting of her time as a nursery worker (and other peoples stories); eventually it became serialized, with the reoccurring stock characters becoming actual characters, forming relationships, going through character arcs. some characters have gotten divorced/married, miscarried, or had successful pregnancies... overall she still has amassed a fairly large following. theres a lot of effort put into it, she acts very well and is believable as different people, and the stories and skits are engaging if you like drama, so there is plenty to like. she uploads both dramatic, story-relevant videos & the regular old comedic skit videos.
[ this is a link to a tiktok that features charlotte in all her character costumes edited to the song NurseryVerse, the song that sparked the discussion ]
some people started dipping out particularly after the relationship aspect because they thought it was weird that her mostly light and fluffy content started getting a bit raunchy (fair criticism, i found it a little weird but the content isnt even as explicit as abbott elementary, especially since she is the Only Actor in it), but some people are really into the relationship drama of it all, which is honestly what most of it is. people make edits of the characters and ask for more couple videos and have entire pages dedicated to these ships. in particular, the main ships are Winter/Autumn (Wintumn), Marjorie/Reece (Marjoreece), Charlotte/Mia (Mialotte), and more recently the failed relationship of Siobhan/Vivian (Vivihan).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the story developing is controversial but more than anything, the relationships are very divisive! one episode included mention that two characters (winter and autumn) had sex in the baby room... while it WAS late at night, after hours and not acted out at all, i can absolutely see why people think thats very weird!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
apparently there are ship tshirts. this may be a step too far... i think its weird for other real-life media but when its just the same woman in a different costume its a little humorous.... lmfao
Tumblr media
i actually thoroughly enjoy this series since i enjoy hearing service workers complain about their shitty customers and similar styles of videos (like hair stylists, makeup artists, bakers, sallys/sephora workers). i honestly like drama as well, though i could take it or leave it.
someone once compared it to sanders' sides and im... hurt but accepting, it is a high-effort scripted video series with a single actor playing many characters, so... fair enough!
though apparently the more apt comparison is the Bistro Huddy, a similar story played by a single guy but set in a bistro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i do think it goes without saying that part of the reason people may prefer bistro over nursery is because of misogyny. a woman doing the exact same thing is more cringe than a man. i dont watch the bistro, so i cant say if his is more or less cringe, but i personally did not enjoy watching his videos, so there's that.
well, whatever media management company she seems to be working for (or with) released the most dogshit song for an anti-bullying charity called "NurseryVerse" with some unknown male singer. its supposed to be fun and uplifting and vaguely introduce you to the series but god. the singing and mixing itself isnt very good but the lyrics are abysmal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the song got popular (infamous, really, because again, its actually very cheesy) and the wider tiktok community has tapped into the nursery-verse. people do not understand it. they dont get the history behind the series, which is fair, its like entering a show 3 seasons in and expecting to understand the plot.
some of the hate comments are very funny lmfao
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she did eventually make a response to the hate in a 10 and a half minute video, though weirdly it is entirely in character (as Marjorie, Autumn, and Mia)... however its not unusual, since she rarely if ever posts videos out of character.
for the hate against the song, she says to let the people who enjoy it enjoy it & for people who dislike it to stop wasting time being an asshole. she tells the people who are being harassed to block anyone bothering them, since apparently that was happening
regarding the sexuality of the storyline, particularly the bit about Wintumn having sex in the nursery after-hours. she says that 1) theyre fake 2) it was not explicit and 3) previously established shows and movies for children have had raunchier and more explicitly sexual content
apparently people are also annoyed that there are a LOT of lesbian storylines (Mialotte, Vivihan, and the unmentioned pre-established relationship between Sorcha and her wife). she essentially says to get over it
she addresses those who miss the one-off skits: she never stopped doing the skits, there is just story between them. i'll add that, when she uploads it tends to be about 3 videos at a time and at least one of those will be a skit! though even some of the skit videos are becoming a bit serialized with reoccurring parent characters...
she adds that those who have "gone viral" for the hate against the song/series are just riding [her] coattails and have no original ideas, or at least have to come up with it.
she teases about the event in October possibly sparking a hate train; i imagine this is because October has a storyline about the (ADULT) characters having a halloween ball. some have made implications that their costumes will be revealing, so perhaps thats what its about?
she says that the money she gets from tiktok is how she makes her money and that the views, whether hatewatching or the genuine, is helping her renovate her home either way.
the comments are mixed it seems, but the negative or critical ones are at the top.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i missed the specific comment but apparently she said something about "bed rotting" and the people aren't liking it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there are still supportive comments, though!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
all in all, after that, the buzz has somewhat died down. that's about it, she's back to her regular posting and the comments on her other posts are as they typically are.
i suppose we will see what happens in october.

OK SO theres currently 2 places where cafae latte can be watched [that i know of] which are tiktok and youtube on youtube episodes are released a little later since theyre grouped up into 1 season per youtube video [which is about like 10 tiktok videos] but honestly i recomend it more than watching it on tiktok cafae latte is about two fairies who run a cafe [no surprise there] but overtime the cast grows and there is a lot of drama and plot twists and solid background/side characters [two of them even got like.a whole season to themselves and it was great] and the fact that theres a total of 1 actress in the entire series is fucking.HOW DOES SHE DO THIS that being said it does often cover heavy topics like homophobia, discrimination against religions or lack thereof, racism, harassment, etc but usually they tackle those subjects in.a weirdly educational way ? also if a topic is really harsh [sex/har, s/a, death] theres usually a tw at the top.also theres the occasional sex joke since most of the characters are allosexual but i am a pussy bitch and theyve never stepped over the line for me [other than one episode where a few of the employees and side characters had a party and played a drinking game but that episode is entirely skippable] you should totally watch it i need more cafae latte mutuals the series will make me fucking die /pos link to the yt playlist featuring all the episodes [excluding the most recent arc but that one is closing so it should be uploaded to yt by the time you finish watching all the previous seasons] is right here.have fun ^_^ TELL ME YOUR OPINIONS IF YOU DO WATCH IT PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!

I JUST BINGED YOUR ENTIRE “THANKS FOR PLAYING” AND I HAD TO STOP MYSELF FROM CRYING IN THE LIVING ROOM AND GODDAMN I GOT SO MANY QUESTIONS/IDEAS so here’s a dump lmao
AND SPOILERS ‼️‼️
and be honest if you honestly don’t have any idea or want to leave it up for interpretation
dino’s friend recommended it to him and he recommended it to mc right? well what happened to that friend/person?? i bet they are alive because they sent that game to 13 people before 3 am so the lady in the closet doesn’t get to them 🤭
if mc didn’t mess around and acted seriously in the game, would the outcome have changed? or was it always the gamemaster’s intention for the player to fall into obscurity?
how come dino remembered the mc? power of love??? or because he knew about the game (im pulling stuff out of my ass)?? or he has an android phone in this au 🧐
what if the pfps for the “AIs” are actually previous victims
so if you actually finish the game against all odds everyone is released (if they aren’t dead) hmmmmm sequel merhaps?? jk
imagine the only clue left about the players existence is the goddamn phone bill for texting 💀
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MC????? wait that’d be really sad if the mc was actually still alive but dino couldn’t recognize them as “mc” but knows they exist somehow uGH
i know you wrote this story for fun so these don’t need to have answers/comments but please provide any extra tidbits of info about this concept it’s so interesting 🙏🙏
SKLJDFLKSDJF OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING????? AND IM SO HONORED HOLY SHIT I WILL DO MY ABSOLUTE BEST TO ANSWER WHAT I CAN 😭💜
also you are not the only one with questions so I'm going to do my best to answer them all here!!!
[for anyone who hasn't read it yet and wants to know wtf we're talking about, you can read the entirety of my .|X| THANKS FOR PLAYING |X|. smau here!]
*cracks knuckles* alrighty buckle up folks time to try and answer some questions and take a deep dive into savv’s personal TFP lore here we gooooooooooooo
[putting it all under a readmore bc it got long af and also i didn't realize how hard it would be to translate the lore in my brain into words??????? i somehow didn't realize how oddly complicated it is??? like writing all of this out in any kind of semi-coherent way was SO HARD sdkjfsdlkjf]
~ Was it all a dream? (this one was asked by @junhui-recs)
Sadly, no. 😭 In the reality of this fictional universe, a tragedy very much did happen and Dino and MC are very much suffering from it 🥲 (I will not stop you from imagining that it was all a dream tho, we all have different ways of coping dklsjfsklj <3)
~ What's the main purpose of the game? Why are they doing this? (this one asked by @diamondyjh)
OKAY SO to start off you need to know that this au was heavily inspired by an episode of a podcast called "The Magnus Archives", specifically the episode “Binary” (transcript here). [If you're a fan of horror, I highly recommend giving the episode a listen/read, it's delightfully creepy — you don't need to have listened to any of the other episodes to understand it (just stop at the ending 'supplemental' part)]
The episode goes into detail about this sort of digital urban legend/creepypasta/copypasta about a guy named Sergey Ushanka who, long story short, tried to upload his brain/consciousness into a computer because he was afraid of death and wanted to try living forever virtually. There are tame versions of how he did it and other much more brutal ones, but basically "Sergey Ushanka" is a prank that various coders/programmers like to pull when making chatboxes in which you could talk with "strangers". It would start out normal and then steadily devolve into something creepy. This paragraph taken directly from the episode transcript sums it up very nicely:
"But then the responses start to break down, become more sinister, and keep referring to how much pain Sergey is in. Eventually, the only response the bot gives you is screaming and pleas to be released. The idea is that the chatbot is Sergey Ushanka’s mind, and he doesn’t like being in a computer nearly as much as he’d hoped."
So the idea that I stole from the episode essentially was: but what if it was real? What would the reality of being turned into cold, unfeeling data feel like? Agony is what the episode posits. Here is a list of phrases that the Sergey in the episode uses:
cw: vague body horror, blood mention "the angles cut me when I try to think" / "it peels my mind like knives" / "it feels like thinking through cheese wire" / "there's no feeling, but the no feeling hurts" / "it's cold without blood" / "the maze is sharp on my mind"
My next thought process was: What happens after? If someone were able to survive this process and were somehow able to keep any kind of agency, how would that person try to get out of the digital hellscape that has now become their existence? After knowing what it feels like to become distinctly inhuman, wouldn't they do anything to feel human again?
And how do we feel human? How do we find connection with each other and our humanity without ever having to come in contact with another person?
Stories. Fiction and non-fiction alike, we are all connected through storytelling, by finding feeling through other people's words. The thing about stories, though, is that they aren't messy in the same way that actually feeling our feelings is. That being human is.
So what does all of this have to do with the purpose of the game?
Essentially, when it's all boiled down, in this universe the story of Sergey Ushanka is real, and in this universe he is trying to gain his humanity back by stealing that of others. He started off with stories, with whatever online libraries and resources and archives he could find across the internet. And while it wasn't even close to enough to satisfy him, to get rid of any of the pain he was constantly experiencing, it was enough for him to learn, to grow, to realize that if he wanted his humanity back, he needed to go to the source.
So he started stealing real people from the real world, with all of their messy feelings and emotions and humanness.
That is the purpose of the game, why "they" are doing this. (pls don't ask the how bc i don't have an answer for that, just -waves hands- you know, insert your supernatural/sci-fi explanation of choice sldkflksj)
~ Did all the other characters from the game also get pulled into it the same way reader did? (asked by @diamondyjh) / What if the pfps for the “AIs” are actually previous victims
Short answer, yes to both! (Longer answer in the next question lol)
~ Who are those other people? (asked by @junhui-recs)
Essentially, the other characters/bots/whatever you want to call them are a kind of amalgamation of all the previous players who got sucked into the game. Once someone's been... let's call it absorbed, whatever parts of themselves are left after the process basically get shoved into whatever "character" they fit best, sometimes different pieces going to different characters.
And while the pictures could just be random ones, I like the idea that they're taken from the most recent players that got absorbed :')
~ Why was Changkyun evil? (asked by @junhui-recs)
Well, the main reason he was "evil" was because he's, y'know, a part of the game and the game is trying to steal people's souls or whatever. As for why he's mean, that's because he's trying to trigger an emotional reaction. The more messy, human feelings that are happening at the time of absorption, the better :').
~ Dino’s friend recommended it to him and he recommended it to mc right? What happened to that friend/person??
"i bet they are alive because they sent that game to 13 people before 3 am so the lady in the closet doesn’t get to them 🤭" SJKDFSKLDJ this made me snort, so thank you 😂
BUT to answer your question, in the story, Dino says that Yeonjun gave it to him and that he got it from "a friend of a friend of a roommate". Because the absorption and the consequent complete erasure is such a big process, not everyone who plays gets sucked in. In fact, most people who play don't get sucked in. Which is why Yeonjun is totally fine! (And why the friend of the friend of the roommate, aka this universe's irl Changkyun, is not 🥲)
~ If mc didn’t mess around and acted seriously in the game, would the outcome have changed? Or was it always the gamemaster’s intention for the player to fall into obscurity?
This one's a little bit complicated. It's kind of a yes and no situation? Generally speaking, the game isn't looking to ensnare every single person who plays because 1) it takes A Lot Of Effort to take/erase a single person, and 2) the game needs to spread to other people somehow, thus it needs people to play it and then tell other people to play it too.
For MC specifically, though, it's hard to say. How they played the game didn't matter so much as how they reacted to the game, specifically the first phase(s) of the Mnemosyne Protocol. The whole point of the game is to get big, messy, emotional responses, so if MC hadn't had such a big reaction, the game probably would have turned out differently. That being said, if MC had played the game as blandly as possible, the game might not have ever decided to test out the Mnemosyne Protocol, so. *shrugs* Do with that what you will lol.
~ So if you actually finish the game against all odds everyone is released (if they aren’t dead) hmmmmm sequel merhaps?? jk
Sadly, nothing special happens if you finish the game 😭 Plenty of people finish the game and pretty much go "huh, that was cool I guess" and then move on with their lives after telling their friends about it. This can be said about all four games mentioned actually, since we only see one of them get played.
As for a sequel... almost certainly not 🥲 I'm not going to give a hard no/no forever, because who knows if I'll end up getting another idea/get suddenly struck with inspiration, but... it is Extremely unlikely. Another story in the same universe??? ...still not likely, but slightly more likely than a sequel lol.
~ Why is Dino the only one who remembers reader? (asked by @diamondyjh) / How come Dino remembered the mc? Power of love??? Or because he knew about the game (im pulling stuff out of my ass)?? Or he has an android phone in this au 🧐
I almost want to make the answer "bc he has an android" because that is So Funny to me like sldkfjsldkjfslkjdf amazing 😂
But no, that's not the case lmao. And while I am a huge sucker for the Power of Love being an unstoppable force (ESPECIALLY when it's non-romantic love!!!), the reason Dino and only Dino remembers is thanks to sheer luck and a glitch.
So, in episode 28, MC drops their phone when meeting their brother and in episode 29 we see the alert ".|| MNEMOSYNE PROTOCOL COMPLETE ||." show up on a cracked screen.
The final phase of the Mnemosyne Protocol is the erasure portion, and the reason players get erased instead of just like, disappearing is because their "essence" is basically being transferred from reality into this digital realm of Sergey's existence. And reality, because it's now lacking an entire person and their history, just kinda... rewrites itself to make sense with the missing gap. Think of it as the universe doing like a sort of reverse autocorrect.
But because MC's phone got broken in the middle of that transfer, there was a slight glitch in the process. A glitch wherein Dino, because he was on the opposite side of the globe when this was happening, got accidentally missed in the autocorrection process. If he had been in Korea (or heck, anywhere within a few thousand miles) when this happened, he would have forgotten MC as well.
So long story short, Dino was just extremely (un?)lucky 🥲
~ Where is reader? (asked by @junhui-recs) / WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MC????? Wait that’d be really sad if the mc was actually still alive but dino couldn’t recognize them as “mc” but knows they exist somehow uGH
Well, sad news here friends. Most of what's left of MC is now stuck inside the game. They got absorbed and are now a part of Sergey's dataset and will be used/distributed into "characters" as needed.
Notice that I said most. Because, thanks to the glitch, the part of them that was connected to Dino didn't get transferred properly, and now that part of them is kinda stuck — it no longer exists in the real world, but it also didn't get fully absorbed into the game.
Which leads me to the next question:
~ Did reader turn evil and try to pull Dino into the game or is it the game itself being evil and impersonating reader to lure Dino in? (asked by @diamondyjh)
When I wrote the original version of this, the answer was a kind of combination of both — MC had gotten absorbed and corrupted by the game, so while it was the MC reaching out, they were doing so because it was what the game wanted.
But in this version... It's actually neither! Which I think would normally be a good thing but I think in this instance actually just makes this sadder oops.
So, the epilogue isn't the game impersonating MC and it isn't an "evil" MC trying to lure Dino in, it's actually just the part of MC that got stuck during the glitchy transfer. This is why the messages show as being from "Unknown" instead of the phone number associated with the game. And the reason what's left of MC asks Dino if he wants to play a game is because that's the only way it knows how to connect with anything anymore.
Basically, this sliver of MC that's left is experiencing what the original Sergey went through when he first "uploaded" himself, but instead of reaching out to anyone through a chatbot for help, it's reaching out to the only thing it "remembers" about humanity — Dino.
...I honestly didn't mean to make this story any sadder than it already is and I'm glad that the epilogue by itself just reads as spooky/freaky as hell instead of, well, this. 🥲
~ If Dino plays the game, will he be reunited with reader? (asked by @diamondyjh)
It pains me to say that there is no longer an MC for Dino to reunite with 😭 The part of them that got absorbed by the game is, well, a part of the game now. And the piece of them that's left and trying to reach out to him? Well, like I said, it's just a piece.
There could potentially be a chance for him to find some closure here, but that's about it I'm afraid :')
And now because I want this to end on a more lighthearted note:
~ Imagine the only clue left about the players existence is the goddamn phone bill for texting 💀
It becomes the next biggest conspiracy, that there's someone (or a group of someones) out there completing the world's next biggest scam by raking up random people's phone bills and somehow finding a way to steal the profit lmao
~ Some last thoughts from savv:
If y'all made it all the way to the end of this... holy shit I applaud you sldkfjsdlkjflksjdf LIKE!!!
thank you for taking the time to read all of this?????? it's not even fic it's just me rambling and making things Even Sadder??????
i also want to say that i'm a believer that 'canon' is whatever was posted in the story itself and that anything else is just headcannon, even if it's from me, the author. so if you don't like/don't agree with anything i've said here, feel free to ignore it!! fill in any gaps/questions you have in the way that makes your reading experience the most enjoyable!!
but yeah tHANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR READING AND I HOPE THESE ARE SATISFACTORY ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS AND IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE/HAVE A RENEWED DESIRE TO FIGHT ME MY INBOX IS OPEN SDKLJFSLKJFLSKFJSLKD

Hello, here is another ramble about every episode of Southpark ever. Been a while since i last posted anything but tbh i never said i had an upload schedule. Anyways enjoy😘
Warnings: sex and normal south park shenanigans
Big gay al's gay boat ride: ep 4 season 1
●The main four boys (Eric, Kyle, Kenny and Stan) all play soccer with some of their classmates. And while i dont think most of them did it entirely willingly, it could still be a pretty good headcanon that at least one of them continued it when they get older (probably Stan)
●Eric calls Stan's dog gay but Stan thinks he's just confused. That is literally so funny to me man idk why. LMAO ANYWAYS JUST THOUGHT I SHOULD MENTION THIS😭
●Chef is an absolute womaniser who loves making love to women. Love that guy fr LMAO
●pip doesn't get safety precautions like a helmet while playing soccer; Chef doesn't like him much i dont think. Poor pip😔
●Stan and Clyde's dogs have sex in front of the kids. clyde is traumatised by the gay dogs (honestly same clyde, you are so relatable at all times ever)
●Stan is South parks 'little quarterback star'. I just know bro would play soccer in high school, or he would never let go of the fact that he used to play soccer and be one of those annoying ex sport kids.
●Mr Garrison says that gay people are evil. AS IF HE ISN'T THE BIGGEST CLOSESTED HOMO EVER LMAO😭
●erics mum doesnt like gays either apparently (i dont quite believe this😔)
●Jesus has a tv show where you can call a hotline to ask him things/ speak to him. Honestly love that for him.
●gay al has a gay animal shelter. ALSO I LITERALLY LOVE AL SO MUCH MAN, LIKE JUST THE WAY HE SPEAKS MAKES ME GO WOW YK
●I love gay Al fr. just thought i should mention that again😘
●Al is like that dude from fantastic beasts and where to find them. I don't know how I came to this conclusion however in moss we trust.

Watching an old RAMPAGE GachiTV episode from February of 2018 on CL Live. No subtitles, but the main content is the boys competing in teams of three to see who can eat two bowls of super spicy food first. They're mainly making exclamations of pain, it's not super hard to understand. Someone did upload it to YouTube if you wanna watch the boys Suffer:tm:.
The teams are A Team Shogo, Kaisei, Itsuki, Kenta and Ryu; B Team Zin, Shohei, Hokuto, Riku and Kazuma (Team Vocal, apparently); and C Team Likiya, Makoto, Takuma, Rui, YamaSho and Takahide. I think for balancing, maybe, they only let 5 members of C Team swap in as I think Makoto never swaps in (lucky thing).
My short recap on the video below the cut, spoilers ahead for a 5 year old episode of GachiTV.
Zin, Shohei and Hokuto each last, like, three bites or less for B Team, so you would assume that B Team is fucked. 3/5 members couldn't last three whole bites. But B Team also possesses Kazuma, who apparently loves spice, and Riku, who either loves spice or simply refuses to lose (I, personally, think it's the second, not a love of spice that got him through the bowl. At the end, after the places were determined, Riku looked like he was dying, poor thing).
(Admittedly, B Team's eaters went Shohei -> Hokuto -> Kazuma for the second bowl and Zin -> Riku for the first bowl, so Riku was, I believe, in there the longest)
Then it turns into a race between A Team and C Team to finish second. And, oh, man. A Team got fucked. Shogo can't handle the spice, Kaisei literally stripped his top off when he was forced back in because Itsuki tapped the second time - Kenta seemed to take it the best and yet he was the one who got tapped in the least?
Whereas C Team - okay, it was honestly impressive that YamaSho basically started sweating the second he sat down near the bowl of spicy food. Shout out to Makoto and Rui for being very kind and trying to pat the sweat off his face, well done. Takuma lasted pretty damn long, I think he Refuses to Let the Team Down, so he went as long as he could, and Takahide ate as much as he could, to the point letting out pained exclamations, but Likiya - damn boy. Likiya was C Team's fucking champion. Likiya finished the first bowl, saw Kazuma finish B Team's second bowl, cinching B Team's win, then just grabbed C Team's second bowl and finished it.
(also, Likiya's shoulders, holy shit. I wanna use his shoulder as a pillow. I bet he gives the best hugs. I know that, like, he's got less definition than, like, Riku or Kaisei, but that just makes him more huggable.)
Unfortunately, A Team, with my darling, darling Shogo, lost. Poor buddy. He really tried. Everyone on A Team looked some level of dead and/or dying during the challenge, I feel bad for them, they tried so hard.
I think the fact that Riku and Likiya were both team sports players basically their entire education career granted them a resistance to spice strictly based on "Can't let the team lose" 😂
However, no one does spice like Kawamura Kazuma, who fucking went to finish A Team's last bowl for them. Everyone else is passing around a milk jug (shout out to the moment of Riku stealing Zin's glass for a sip, then giving it back. Oh, buddy 😂)
I watched the YouTube upload awhile ago and that's kinda where my interpretation of Riku as a bit of a prankster came from - he offers Shogo a bite of the dessert that B Team won, made like he was going to feed it to Shogo, then ate it himself instead. (He also does this to Likiya in a video on CL Live. He does a different type of prank in one video where YamaSho and Kazuma lead a pranking fiesta in the middle of the night that featured various members pranking other members - Riku pranked Shogo, specifically.)
(Poor Shogo. It feels like a portion of his life is getting pranked by Riku)
Riku did, however, feed his fellow B Team members, Zin, Kazuma and Shohei. (It's easy to miss the moment where he feeds Shohei some dessert, because it's in the background while A Team's punishment is being discussed) I guess he likes them more 😂
You can see every single member of A Team stopping themselves from kicking the dude who's doing the punishment foot - manipulation? Massage? (Except for Kaisei, who's apparently immune - I think he mentioned his mother's dance school, probably as a reason?) Also, I was watching Itsuki's punishment and going "That man is going to get away, holding him is like holding a scared cat and he's significantly bigger." 😂
Makoto continues to be lucky as he's the only one of the one little group to escape without a foot massage 😂 (Dunno how to refer to them, but it's Makoto, Itsuki, Shohei and Shogo - they're also friends with Taiki from Fanta/Exile. There's some adorable tiktoks showing them through the years together)

What is this?? Lee actually following up on promises of posting longform writing??? I know, I'm scared too.
Last Lee Tonight (wherein Lee quotes noted political commentator Olivia Rodrigo) Season One, Episode Nine
Tumblr media
(Original air date: 6/29/2014) Topics covered: Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, LGBT rights and discrimination in Uganda
Trigger warning: discussions of homophobia
"That is why I, personally, refuse to pay for Mennonite cabinets. Because Jason Bourne could, conceivably, beat someone to death with one of those things."
Because the last time I posted one of these reviews was (checks notes) August 2023, a brief recap of where we are in terms of the season developing is in order. Episode Eight was the first time the entire main story was put on LWT's YouTube page, after a very... scattershot approach to uploading segments onto social media. The show is also coming into its own - although the recap of the week segments are bouncing between being extremely surface-level, sometimes only one joke long, and closer to the current iteration of a small yet rigorous dive into a relevant topic for a few minutes before the main topic, the main stories are beginning to take longer form, even though they are still tied to the idea of the show being immediately relevant.
This episode is one of the few I think is, with a few exceptions, almost completely available on the LWT YouTube page worldwide. Both major segments are uploaded, as well as an extended interview segment. Looking forward, they do experiment with the idea of breaking up most of the episodes and loading them onto YouTube for the rest of season one. At least they're actually, um, loading the main parts of the episodes on YouTube from here on out. As I've said many times before, no one had any idea what kind of show LWT was supposed to be or what it would become.
Another fun fact - apparently you can no longer screenshot these episodes I bought on YouTube on my desktop with PrtSc. What the fuck. Is up. With that?! (aaaah~) Fuck you business daddy you complete sack of daddy-shaped shit. (Clearly I have my ways of getting around this, even if the screenshots seem a bit blurry to me, but... fucking hell, I'm just trying to take a screenshot OF SOMETHING I PAID FOR.)
ANYWAYS. There's an episode of LWT we're ostensibly discussing!
Our first topic is the 2014 World Cup. England has been knocked out, so the tournament is dead to John. Oh John. So innocent. So full of life. You have no clue about the shitstorm you're gonna drop on FIFA's doorstep next season.
At the World Cup, an Uruguayan player, Luis Suarez, bit an Italian player, something I totally forgot about. He also bit TWO OTHER PEOPLE. John calls the Italian player "a delicious piece of prime Italian steak" - I forgot that chaotic bisexuality has been baked into this show from day one but I love it.
(Based on the only hate comment I've ever received, I know someone will probably deign to tell me that John is not bisexual, which... I know. But the writing of this show has chaotic bisexual energy - in some seasons, like the one where John begs Adam Driver to chokeslam him into a table regularly, energy honestly isn't a strong enough word to describe whatever's going on - and I like acknowledging that element of the show.)
John mentions the week has been awash with depressing terrorism news but leads into a segment about Boko Haram being driven out of their hiding places by snakes and bees, an incredible victory for the scariest parts of nature. John is furious that scorpions have instead decided to hide in bananas in supermarkets instead of fighting terrorism. John's grin after delivering that joke is effervescent. He loves this kind of stupid, "now THAT'S a sentence"-style joke.
Tumblr media
He's so happy y'all
We take a hard left turn into discussing Syria, and that the US is looking to send money to "appropriately vetted" rebel soldiers. The obvious question is asked - how do you vet rebel soldiers? John suggests a trade-school-style commercial to recruit potential rebel soldiers. (The offer is open to bees and snakes!) One thing I like about the early episodes that does still come through from time to time on the show are these sorts of Daily Show-style fake commercials and PSAs. They can get repetitive after seeing the segments they're covering, but there's usually some fun twists and chances for some real absurdities and escalations you can't do in the show proper.
Our first real segment follows after this, on Burwell v Hobby Lobby. You may remember this as the court case that allowed for Hobby Lobby, a crappy JoAnn's knockoff run by evangelical Christians who also stole artifacts for a bible museum, to not pay for an employee's birth control through the Affordable Care Act because it went against their religion. As a corporation. Because corporations are people now. God this country sucks.
youtube
At the time of airing, this decision hadn't been made yet by the Supreme Court, so John is going over the details of the case, including the questions at the center of it - do corporations have freedom of religion, and are corporations people? John confidently says "no" before realizing he has to actually discuss this, and I really want to live in 2014 John World. This whole segment has a lovely capper extending two ideas to their logical, absurd extremes - government cannot be an a la carte system, something John demonstrates by showing a wild variety of things people don't want to spend their taxes on which starts fairly even-keel but spirals into Fox News talking heads saying that their tax dollars are being spent on Mexican prostitutes. And on the flip-side, if corporations are people, well, people die. Amongst other things.
Something that's been a bit lost about this case in the ten years since is that a Mennonite sect that owned a kitchen cabinet making company also sued the government over providing birth control. I totally forgot about that.
Our "And Now This" segment is on politicians misusing the word 'literally'. Chris Traeger literally adored this segment. (It's short and is exactly what you'd expect. Not much to say here.)
The next segment is on LGBTQIA+ rights in Uganda. Interestingly, John introduces this segment by saying "finally tonight..." despite being only 12 minutes into a 30 minute show. Definitely had me checking the clock in confusion.
youtube
I appreciate that John opens this segment not sugarcoating anything happening to LGBTQIA+ individuals in Uganda, even before he gets into the details of the anti-gay laws there. While there's been segments prior that have been obviously extremely serious, this is the first one that feels like John is coming from a place of seriousness first, jokes second. There are plenty of jokes, yes, lots of very funny ones. But when you compare how this segment opens, with no frills or equivocating, to even the Hobby Lobby segment earlier this episode, there's a pretty obvious difference.
People really didn't know how to react to the line "the moral arc of the universe is long, and it bends away from Uganda." There's like one scattered laugh at that. I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to be a joke.
A lot of the details of this segment are deeply upsetting, especially post-Trump in a world where it feels like freedoms are rolling back everywhere and extremist hatemongers like Scott Lively are being treated more and more seriously. The fact that he was laughed at here in the past is refreshing, but knowing that he'd likely be a top senate candidate now is so distressing. There's a lot of things that can be seen in this show in hindsight, most of them so far more benign than this. Unfortunately, the exportation of homophobia now looks less like the death throes of a dying political position, as John posits here from 2014, and more like a big factor in sowing the seeds for this last decade's right-wing global surge.
That being said, Pepe Julian Onziema is a true portrait of grace under fire. The interview with Onziema in the show is extremely illuminating, the kind of interview that makes me wish John did more interviews. Onziema is a delight - I love his seriousness in speaking to the realities of living as an LGBT+ person in Uganda, and his bravery in fighting this fight despite the looming threat of severe prison time. Relatedly, "Sorry doesn't cut it" is such a great comeback to John apologizing for being part of two groups of people that brought this wave of homophobia to Uganda.
There is an extended interview with Onziema on YouTube that dives further into some of the specifics of certain social elements, like context into how Ugandan discourse took on elements of American homophobic talking points (like "gay people are recruiting children") and a timeline of Scott Lively's touring of Uganda. John manages to completely break him by singing part of an early hateful song about "the rainbow belonging to God" as well, which made me so happy. Turn those hateful things into ludicrously stupid ones to destroy them.
youtube
I do highly recommend watching this interview - it's one of the best things that LWT has ever done, still. This has stayed with me for 10 years.
Other notes:
Hey. Hey Lee. You gonna talk about the fit?: Yes of course I am, the meds didn't change my brain THAT much. We have a light blue shirt with a dark blue tie with lighter piping, and a gray suitjacket. This is a subdued look but I like the neutral slate color combination going on here. 8/10
I haven't mentioned the unique title cards for each episode of LWT yet, mainly because this is the first one I found really funny - it's a picture of Renaldo with the caption "Kickus Ballium". (New name for football ahoy!)

Please enjoy this incredible "I'm so smooth" looking freeze frame that I took while pausing the episode to write. So smooth.

"I've got to be honest, being British is sometimes a little like being an alcoholic. When someone says you did something awful, you find yourself going, 'Honestly, I don't even remember doing that, but yeah, probably, probably. I'm a dick, I'm a dick.'" He slipped so easily into that Ian Duncan mode for this line, I so hope he comes back for the Community movie.

What do you think Dan and Phils next big project is? (Solo or joint)
Good question and I wonder how much they even know, but they've been like... suspiciously quiet recently haha. Phil, especially.
Starting with Phil, I do hope a solo project of his gets picked up. Maybe one already has been and it's being worked on right now. I really hope that his recent stepping away from online presence (aided by Dan going on tour) is/was for more than just health reasons.
Phil strikes me as much more of a collaborator than Dan, who we all know is an enormous control freak (affectionate). Even if Phil is a showrunner/ director, I do sort of think he'll still be one of a larger group, even if the idea is widely his. If this theorhetical project is fiction, I'd lean towards something horror or sci-fi, since we know Phil loves those genres. He's, like, extremely briefly mentioned working on something fictional (and for many years, at that), so if he's still enthusiastic about that story, I'd love to hear or see it. Phil is so creative and quirky that I think whatever he'd come up with would be really special.
I also think Phil would really excel as a game show host, which we know is another one of his passions. Perhaps he's working on coming up with/ pitching a game show? I know dnp were trying to get a Truth Bombs game show at some point, so I don't think that's entirely out of the question.
Part of me also thinks Phil is much more enthusiastic about bringing the Dan and Phil (TM) duo back, but that's just enormous speculation. I honestly think some time in the future they'll return to traditional media like presenting, interviewing, and/or radio together, though.
Unpopular opinion, but I'd rather something besides Dan is Not Okay from Dan. I want Dan to act so, so badly, I genuinely think he'd be good at it, but I'd really prefer if he wasn't, like, playing himself? If DINOK ends up happening (and who knows, he could be working on it right now with all of the random places he's been spotted recently) I'll still enthusiastically tune in, but I'd personally rather something that doesn't sound like a mediocre Phil-less phanfic. Also, unfortunately, I'm just not sure it'd gain much traction beyond his already established audience. I think if he were to do a show where he's still actor/writer/director but plays a character who is not just Seinfeld-ifyed him, it'd work better to establish himself beyond his YouTube persona.
Speaking of Dan's yt... dude?? Where are the rest of the Dystopia Daily videos? I guess I was naive, but I genuinely thought he wasn't going to just drop off the face of the earth again after tour. I understand taking a break, but I figured there'd be some retrospective or the last (?) DD episode/ videos by this point. Maybe he's too busy with whatever the random traveling project is, but, like, I just find it odd that a recording of WAD hasn't even been hinted at or announced. I feel like WAD ended extremely unceremoniously and Dan's recent disappearance has made it even weirder for me.
So... with Dan? I do sort of think he's working on something right now. What that is? Who knows. But I think it began almost immediately after WAD finished up, and that's why he hasn't been able to wrap WAD up in a pretty bow or focus on yt at all. If I had to guess, it's crunch-time and it'll be announced/uploaded/whatever sometime in June. Dan loves doing things in June.
Sorry I rambled a ton. But. Yeah. That's kind of where I am thinking about upcoming dnp projects and what they could be working on.
...
Never mind; scratch all of that: they're definitely bringing the gaming channel back.

so i'm torn between ryou being rescued by the paladins or ryou getting rescued by romelle but then I thought... what if both. like, the first time he was captured by galra, he was rescued by romelle. he stayed on pollux for a bit, earned a place for himself but left to continue his quest for answers. then he got captured again, maybe on purpose, and was then rescued by the paladins.
I can completely and utterly guarantee you that by capture attempt number two Ryou would be So Done with This Shit.  Let’s strip it down to basic though.  Ryou has, for quite some time now, been pretty much at the top of his field.  You make it up, he can build it.  You ask for something, he can invent it.  He’s really been in a position of leadership (albeit an entirely different version from Taka’s) and of being the one that’s ahead of everyone else and giving them hands up to catch up.
And then, suddenly, he’s at the very bottom of that pile, so far behind in knowledge and ability that he might as well be a first grader learning how to work simple addition all over again.  He does not have a fancy lion, he does not have an Official Role, he does, honestly, not have much point or usefulness when he finds himself in space.  This is a man that’s built himself from the ground up to be the one that can provide and create what everyone else needs and its been his goal as well as a huge purpose of his for years now.  And it’s gone.  Hell, he doesn’t even know which knobs to turn on things anymore or where the hell the nearest equivalent to a screwdriver is and if anything out here even uses screws.  Yes, Hunk is shown pretty much understanding everything, including how to hotwire a drilling elevator or fix a junked up alien vessel, right off the bat without even scratching his head but lets be realistic here.  In a civilization so advanced they’ve made a flying lion that can literally phase itself through solid objects without any harm to the pilot inside and I’m supposed to believe they’re still be using technology on a level that a human whose highest accomplishment isn’t even light speed yet could completely take apart and know exactly what they were doing right off the bat?  Really?  Look we all suspend a lot of disbelief for this show and that’s part of the fun but if you really look at the basics of it - Pidge can, quickly and with very little trouble, immediately crack code in an alien computer system that’s had longer to advance itself than the entire human race has had to evolve.  Really?  She can, and I’m still having a hard time swallowing this one, hijack Shiro’s arm with - a wifi signal? and shut it down when not a single other Galra grunt or scientist or soldier or Haggar have?  Don’t get me wrong.  In all honest, I love Hunk muttering to himself and hotwiring the elevator at the same time.  It’s one of my all time favorite scenes from season one actually because it is so perfect in timing and delivery and tension and laughter and Hunkness but - the thing that challenges my suspension of disbelief most is how casual alien tech is treated and how easy it is to crack even by two beings I’m perfectly willing to acknowledge as complete geniuses. I realize, as writers, there’s a limited amount of time the VLD script crew have to pack all kind of information into things and they really do need to hit the ground running with the characters.  Pidge and Hunk both need to have their skills shine just as bright as anyone elses and it would take a lot of time and slow the story way down if they were put on a learning curve.  In fact, a hell of a lot of the situations that moved things along in the first couple of episodes (Pidge hijacking Rover, Hunk hijacking the lift) wouldn’t have happened at all if we had to stop and have them really wrestle with how utterly alien and outside of their usual pattern of programing and problem solving everything is.  But dang.  Are we going to upload a virus to the alien ship with a lap top next?
