i LOVE the idea that the events of secret life were a secret from even the watchers themselves and that gem was sent in as an undercover spy to maintain control but they ultimately couldn’t because they weren’t able to see what was happening outside of the area that held the secret keeper, so their only way to gain info was either at the end of each session when everyone met up to discuss their tasks or through gem who they have open the portal to the end where martyn (who defied the watchers and won last season) instantly dies — and then lizzie dies and they’re furious because the curse is broken, and whether it be through suspending lizzie in the void, sending a warden and wither to kill jimmy or tasking gem with killing the whole server, all the following events of the series were a punishment sent by the watchers for undermining their control

Okay Hermitblr (and Trafficblr) hear me out, as much as I love all the watcher Grian stuff and it's canon as anything can we talk about how much evidence there is for Watcher!Gem?

She canonically dimension hops, she is a pvp master, and she has a unique quiet terror about her that puts off "don't fuck with me if you wanna live" while having the cheeriest smile ever

I could absolutely spin a tale of the watchers growing bored of the life series so throwing her down there and giving her plot armor is an amazing concept until like the last minute of the series where I swear Grian slipped them a note with the title "wouldn't it be funny if Scar"

I'm not saying this is Canon I'm just saying the fanon opportunities are there and y'all are sleeping on them.

Heeeyyyy,,,, soooo... about that one au u're ramblin' aboot earlier... Hoe'd grian and gem grow up? Im honestly still intrigued, and little scenaroios are currently playing around in my head, but i wanna know of your rants/rambles abt theem!! Pls.

Actually giggling in real life right now in delight I'm so glad to have an excuse to talk about this

They were both raised in a cult but on completely different sides, Grian was raised to think that his species was superior to all others, he created the life series for fun the first time but meeting Scar kinda knocked some sense into him, it was kinda an owl house Collector scenario in which he went "oh shit people die when they die." He went back and started talking to other watchers about his friends and was subsequently yelled at by all the elders and put back in the life game, but this time with a mechanic installed to encourage the players to not be close, Last Life was meant as a punishment for Grian

Gem on the other hand was raised to be subservient, she grew up being taught to completely worship the Watchers, Walkers weren't allowed to talk to each other and the only words they learned were to take orders. I think this was mentioned in the original post, but all the Walkers are candid hybrids because they're all pretty much bundles of anxiety who've been ruined as a species. Gem was one of the "favorites" so she was sent out to Hermitcraft to keep an eye on Grian, who was kicked out for being a traitor.

Jumping around here but Grian's perspective would have been a literal horror movie, he's lost his entire family, life, and friends and is now being stalked.

The first time they really met and he tried to talk to her was in season nine, Grian was trying to overthrow Ren and Obviously the Soup Group was involved too, at this point Gem really didn't understand the concept of people actually wanting her input and was used to just going along with what other people said, so Pearl and Impulse want to overthrow the king? She'd just tag along.

Grian heard her talking to Pearl and afterwards tried to talk with her, she refuses to talk to him, repeatedly calling him a traitor, he finally loses his temper and tells her she's also a traitor and that what she's doing to Ren is exactly what he's doing to the Watchers.

After that, the Watchers decide that they don't want to risk Gem betraying them and that's how she got thrown into the Life Series, kinda backfires and she ends up leaving the Watchers after all

Kinda alluded to this in the first post, but Gem really struggles with self harm because for the first part of her life it was a defense mechanism, she would get lesser punishments for messing up if she did them to herself, and although she's working on it, it's a pretty hard habit to break, it took nearly a month for Gem to not start spiraling in every casual conversation she had, pretty safe to say that killing Scott and Impulse brought up some not so nice memories for her

This was a bit more about post childhood than actual childhood but ADHD brain makes the executive decisions here

“Grian!”

Gem hurried over the moment she’d caught sight of him.

Grian groaned, sinking down to the ground and hiding behind his now purple dipped pale wings.

“Again? That’s the fourth time this month,” she sat down on the floor next to him as he leaned against his fishing hut.

“I don’t know wh-why,” he opened his eyes a little, long enough for Gem to catch a glimpse of purple.

She put a hand on his shoulder, “You’ll be okay… Just breathe.”

Grian was warm, too warm.

“Are you cold?” The ginger asked. To which the blonde replied with a nod.

Gem rose to her feet. “I’ll go get some meds. Stay here okay?”

Another nod.

She flew back in a minute later with a potion of instant health in hand.

“I need you to down this whole thing for me okay?”

Grian groaned in protest, finding the thought of medicine unpleasant.

“Come on…… It’s for your own good and you know it.”

He took the glass bottle from Gem’s hand and chugged down the pink liquid reluctantly, gagging a little at the taste.

“There… That wasn’t so bad wasn’t it?” Gem sat back down next to him, caressing his wing’s radius.

The colour of his wings started to fade back to the usual parrot colours he always wore.

Grian heaved a sigh as he peeked out of hiding. “Th-Thanks Gem.”

One of his eyes still glowed purple when he opened them and hurried to hide it when he realised.

Gem smiled warmly at him as she bagged the empty glass bottle.

“What do you think is causing… this?” she asked, hoping it wasn’t too soon.

“I think……”

Grian mumbled as his left eye returned to normal.

“I think the next season of bloodshed is coming.”

So I've been brainrotting hard about Gemcyt lately.

Gemcyt au belongs to the one and only @chrisrin!

I kind off started drawing Aquamarine Grian before I saw the official design and I placed his gem over his left eye bc I thought it would look cool if he got a watcher form with multiple eyes and yadda yadda a lengthy process later and I have crafted a whole fanfiction outline and several designs and lore.

From the left to right we have: Canon Aquamarine Grian, then we got YHS Aquamarine Grian (gonna flesh out his lore in future posts hopefully) and then Classic Link skin Aquamarine Grian. There also exists a Kingdom of Valor variant in my head.

The idea is that our canon Aquamarine Grian isn't of course the only one of his kind and there were a lot of other "GRI" cuts made after him and even some before him.

Each of them exuded amazing properties like weapon manipulation, interrogation skills, wind control and were experimented on by the diamonds and then forcefully fused into a perfect mega Aquamarine. Omnipresent with eyes all over the universe.

Except it didn't work out mixing 21 Aquamarines into one, even if most of them were from the same GRI cut.

Just saying tho, I didn't go that much into "Watcher" Grian concept I was excited for in the first place cuz I was feeling tired, but I'm defintiely going to redesign him and make him more freaky in the future.

Hey, sorry for the wait and low quality- life kinda distracted me.

Here’s your request. I don’t know much about gem and this is my first time drawing her. I didn’t know if you wanted her from empires or hermitcraft so I did a mix of both. I really like how people draw her skin from empires2 so I tried to incorporate that. Her wings are supposed to have crystals in them but I didn’t have time to detail them to look like crystals, sorry-

I think she’d be a savior of some sort.
