So my neighbors had oops puppies. As in, true oops puppies - their “Doberman” hasn’t been spayed yet, as the vet wanted to wait until she was closer to two for whatever reason. The father was a sorta-Catahoula-god-knows-what mutt cowdog who had been neutered a week ago owned by the guy across the road.

As it turns out, male dogs are fertile for about six weeks after surgery. Cow guy didn’t know this and allowed his male dog to run about free. Nature took its course and soon, my neighbors found that their dog Lillian was pregnant. Once the puppies come, they are bizarre shades of white, merle, red, and spotted. One doggy DNA test later (and a DNA test of the cow dog, who was the only other male who hadn’t been neutered for years) and the cow guy figured out that his “purebred” Catahoula is actually a pit bull/Border Collie/Labrador/Catahoula/Bull dog mix. Lillian’s people found that she’s not exactly purebred Doberman either. She’s about 10% Great Dane (which explains the size), the rest Doberman.

In fairness, Hank looks a decent amount like a Catahoula, just with slightly longer hair and a kinda blocky head. He’s also merle.

There’s exactly one puppy that looks kinda like a typical Doberman... if Dobermans had big splashes of white on the chest and face. The others make you do a double take, especially when it comes to the white ones. Either Lillian is a z-list dog or Hank’s bull dog heritage came out in full force.

The best part of the saga?

Hank’s owner yelling ��YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE BALLS ANYMORE!” so loud that I could hear him across the pasture.

The moral of the story, I guess? Don’t buy dogs off of Craigslist and Facebook and spay/neuter their pets.

olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it… he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct” but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

Things I make for myself when insomnia kicks in

Just a chart about what I wanna change up and keep consistent in my art - I mainly wanna draw Raph with a tail because he deserves one, it fits too well. Donnie gets a long tail too because I didn’t realize how dino-like he looks until I gave him one, and now it’s a must for me haha.
