while showering yesterday it dawned on me that men, at least throughout adolescence and early adulthood, are discouraged from talking about each others bodies. i just think that’s sad.

also yesterday one of my friends reacted strangely when I was whispering to him about this guy I thought was hella attractive, and he’s usually one guy friend that is comfortable expressing when men are attractive as a straight man. but I think he was trying to deflect because someone else we climb with is a young woman who’s pretty and he may have felt the need to reassure her that he was straight. Idk it felt off when it happened.

There’s this kid that tries to tag along with our little group too and he’s nice and all but can be somewhat annoying, and awkward. It’s mostly endearing, though most of the group just ignores him or actively flees from him. I admire this kid for going out of his way to talk to people though, like he seems to be very comfortable just approaching people. I think people don’t like it because he seems desperate for acceptance and says just kinda awkward things but I know exactly how he feels. So I’m nice to him and try to have some conversation with him bc honestly why not? It’s too much for people to give others the time of day?
