I'm really sorry it took so long, I was sick and didn't feel like drawing, but I came back and here is the third page. I had problems with the first panel so I drew it based on an original image from the series, I hope you don't mind

OC time for my OC, Pale Pearl, or just Pearl (or Ilux). This is for the From Reef To Homeworld AU!

Pearl is a pearl ehos been from one owner to the next. They'd been called special when they'd been originally formed, that they would please someone, make them happy... but it seems they never are able to. They've tried everything, been obedient, followed every order and command- but it was never enough. And they paid the price for it, always being told what they did wrong, how they should give their all, that they weren't worth it...

So they ended up assigned to another gem, then another, until it had been three new lives, three new thems, and they feel so, so broken and lonely...

Their face, part of it, is cracked, even though their gem was healed... their colors are muted now, barely visible, save for their eye and their gem... Eventually, They're able to be placed at The Reef, a special place for making pearls and nacres and shiva eyes and corals and ammonites and ammolites... a place where they treat them, have gifts and trinkets for them, where they can be given to someone new...

...

Pearl doesn't want to go with anyone again. They don't want to hear one more bell, one more shout, one more demand. They're scared of loud noises, of harsh words, of yelling amd screaming and accusations. Except this place... the gems here are so, so nice. The shiva eye, the nacre, the ammonite and ammolite guards, even the corals, who work to keep the building functioning and gems clean and healthy...

So they heal. They learn to love again. To breathe easier. To laugh, and live, and not feel scared of the past...

Scenario: Some small item from the prefect's home world ends up in NRC. For example, my brother found a local brand of soda when he was out of our country for a few years. It made his whole week.

Option 1: Octotrio finds this item and know the significance of it. How do they give it to their dear prefect?

Or if option 2, if you want jealous Octotrio: Another student else gives the item to the prefect, and they are seething over how happy someone else made the prefect.

“A bottle of Mexican coke gets launched out of a wormhole and thunks them in the head. What is it? They have no clue, it looks like a soda, but they don't recognize the brand, logo, or anything really. It says Hecho en Mexico” on the side, though...wait! Isn't that a place from your homeworld? You'll love this!

“Ain't that the soda Shrimpy is always raving about?” Floyd was rubbing the side of his head that the glass bottle smacked into. It hurt like hell, and Jade hiding his laughter at his misery.

“Stop laughin', Imma bite you.”

“Fuhu, sorry Floyd.” Jade managed to clear his throat and straighten. “You just collapsed on the ground like a rag doll, it surprised me.”

“Yeah, how about I take that bottle and smack you up the head with it? We can see who looks more like a rag doll then”

“Think you could?

“Know I could.”

“I bet you can't”

“I bet I can, you fuc—”

Azul cleared his throat, drawing both of their attentions as he held the bottle in his hands.

“If you two would like to save the Cain instinct for another day, I do believe that we can garner the Prefect's favor with this.”

Both perked up, sharing a knowing look before smirking.

“Good point,” Jade replied, walking over to Azul to admire the bottle. “They have been shyer since our last outing with them, this would be a good opportunity to—”

“Floyd swiped the bottle from their hands and started a brisk jog as he called out, I got hit with it, so I get to take all the credit and all of my Shrimpy's love!”

“FLOYD!” Both chased after him, a loud, familiar cackle ringing through Main Street and everyone's ears.

You were none the wiser, chilling in your room with peace and quiet for once, as Grim was out with Epel in the Spelldrive Club. You gave it 1 hour before Leona got tired of him and sent him back to you.

Your peace was interrupted upon hearing the banging on your front door. Groaning, you got up and made your way to the entryway.

“I swear to God! Ace! If you're crashing here again, I'm getting you a literal doghouse!” You yelled out, huffing, as you swung the door open and instead found Floyd trying to wrestle a bottle of something from his grasp.

It was quite amusing, as Azul's grip wasn't even budging while Floyd pulled with all his might. Only Jade, who was on Azul's right, noticed you and smiled.

“Hello Prefect, how are you?” Jade nodded his head with a polite smile. “We apologize for the sudden intrusion, but we have something for you—”

“No, I found it! I have something for them!” Floyd whined, keeling over as Azul finally gabbed a harsh elbow into his ribs.

“You got hit in the head, I hardly count that as 'finding' it.” Azul gave you a pleasant smile, though you were wary of what the trio wanted from you to bring you something.

“We, all three of us, have a gift for you. We recognized it as something you've spoken about, and out of the kindness of our hearts, we decided to offer it to you in exchange for your time!”

“You snorted, glancing at the bottle in Azul's hands. Yeah, sure, 'kindness'. What's the point of a gift if—HOLY SHIT, IS THAT MEXICAN COKE?”

Azul stumbled backwards as you reached for the bottle in his hands, excitement gleaming in your eyes as you did.

“WHERE'D YOU GET THIS? ACTUALLY, I DON'T CARE! LET ME HAVE IT!”

Azul let out a yelp as you managed to pull the bottle from his hands, your eyes glittering and smile wide.

“You three don't know how bad I've been craving this since I've been here.” Sighing, you pressed the bottle, nice and cool, to your cheek in bliss.

“I would suck a man's dick for this shit, you don't even know.”

You froze at the choking sound in front of you, and snickering from the left and right. You noticed the light purple blush on Azul's cheeks and the pink ones on the twins. Jade was looking away, covering his mouth, but you could still see his lips quirk up. Floyd's snickering was growing into a full giggle.

“Ahem, I, ah, appreciate your enthusiasm for the gift. I'll keep that…in mind.”

“If he doesn't, we will. Isn't that right, Floyd?” Jade chuckled.

Floyd replied, “Oh for surrrre~ Say, Shrimpy?” Floyd leaned in, smile growing as he purred, “you up for offering that thank you?”

You backed away, face growing hotter as you pursed your lips. The twins laughed at you.

“Stop joking around! It was a joke and you know it!”

You could still hear the giggles from behind the door as you slammed it shut. However, you paused, hearing Azul murmur something to the twins and them quiet down. They sounded a bit disappointed, to be honest.

Sighing, you cracked open the door again, peeking out to the three. Azul was looking at you expectantly.

“Yes?”

“…Thanks. Do you guys wanna, uh, go out again this weekend? You said you wanted my time, in exchange, right?”

Azul visibly perked, giving you a closed eye smile as he nodded.

“Yes! How about we meet at 11am this Saturday at the gates? We can visit the town, you don't get to visit often, correct?”

“Yeah,” You smiled shyly. “Sounds good, I'll see you all then.”

“You pretended to not hear Floyd's whoop!” as you closed the door, chuckling to yourself.

“Weirdos. Cute ones, though.”

As promised, a little bit of these guys interacting with the canon Crystal Gems, plus a tiny bit of backstory! I think probably at least some actual Rose Quartzes had Pink Diamond-esque powers (albeit not as strong) in canon or else surely the Diamonds would've been like, "hey, why the hell is this one random soldier so OP???". But at the same time I'm not sure that Pink/Rose would have consciously given them those powers or if they would just... emerge a la Peridot's metal thing.

Changing the subject, I think that in this AU Pearl has a terrible rebound fling with Homupearl after Rose's death, possibly even as a trio with Jadeoka? Speaking of Homura, I made her owner on Homeworld be Kyubey since there wasn't really any other character I thought would fit the role. Gem!Kyubey is kind of a look, though??? I also threw in Oriko and Kirika since Yuma's there too. The edgiest of Pearls... (Sidenote: that's basically the only spinoff I ever kept track of closely enough to know the characters, so no Kazumis, Tarts, MagiRecos, etc.!)

I also imagined Hitomi as another Jade, although she's part of a different court and thus doesn't end up going to Earth or rebelling... They all meet up again in the SU Future time period!

funny story, i asked owen what gem he thought he would be and he said sapphire which. y'know. is blue. but i didn't want to just ignore what he said AND THEN I REMEMBERED PADPARADSCHA!!! so take a little lie detector with retrocognition! also, his dress is loosely based on the one he wore in tommy's video that one time.

beks is a quartz because of COURSE she's a quartz, she can beat the life out of anyone. she finds the fact that some of her scars blend in with her natural markings to be a bit funny. she has glasses irl, so i figured she'd get a cool visor to help with eyesight! she's a little short for a quartz- like amethyst, she was a bit overcooked. but she's still just as strong as any other!

for eloise, i always thought of jades as the sort of...administrative...paperwork-doing...manager type gems? and it reminded me of r!eloise! also, she just gives jade vibes idk what to tell you. i'd like to think that at a point before el decided to stay on earth, her dress tore and she didn't bother to fix it because...nobody was going to shout at her for not doing so. and then when she decided to permanently stay she changed her whole outfit.

in my head the trio were sent to earth upon realising that the gems over there were not, in fact, shattered, and were just deserting the empire. eloise works interrogation and writes reports, owen can literally tell if anyone is lying, and beks is security detail for these two fairly important gems...along with playing the bad cop if need be. owen and scott recognise each other. owen is too stubborn to join earth. scott is too stubborn to go back to homeworld. eloise decides to stay after a while. beks is just trying to do her job. shenanigans ensue.

Alfea Overview v2

i drew out a layout for Alfea i will use for specifications of my overview. did i make alfea a smidge taller? Yes but oh well, anyway lets begin.

The Alfea College for Fairies is a girls' boarding school in Magix for Fairies and the oldest (established 9000 years before the start of the story) and most prestigious educational institution for fairies. 

The education in Alfea lasts 3 years, one for each Fairy Form in the journey of an aspiring full-fledged fairy. Base form, Charmix, Enchantix.

The Alfea students are mostly in training ages 16-18 (unless they have been held back a grade like Stella, so in her case, 17). Fairies here learn how to control their power, fight evil, learn new spells as well as learn how to be their realms' queens and guardian fairies. In this way, Alfea is a little like a military boarding school for the elites.

In the Past

The Alfea Champions were an ancient trio of legendary fairies who were believed to be the most powerful fairies in all of Alfea History. Their feats have been known to be passed down through generations, immortalised in statues that stand in the Alfea Museum, and had been recorded in Legendarium. Ress of the Flame, Chevonne of the Water and Farcelia of the Wind. They were real fairies, but it has been so long that their legends outlived their actual story of their lives.

When Mavilla was headmistress of Alfea, owning and exhibiting the strengths of one's Fairy Animal was considered a vital part of a fairy education. Everything taught was a reflection of the contents of the Tome of Nature. Eventually, Mavilla changed this. 

Alfea used to have a crest which was a curved golden "A" on a purple and blue flower with a golden outline at the top of the school gates, just above Alfea's gate. The "A" of the crest is also seen on what used to be the school's uniform, consisting of a burgundy long-sleeved and knee-length dress and mary janes. The neck part of the dress has white lace and a dark burgundy loop.

At another point in time, Eldora was the keeper of the Alfea Greenhouse and taught floral magic.

School years

First Year

Freshmen fairies learn how to master their own source of power, as well as their base fairy form, and learn basic spells they can use in their daily life and in battle if necessary. Metamorphosymbiosis, Potionology and Survival Training are part of the first year curriculum. Fairies also learn how to explore diverse environments in the Simulation Room as part of their survival training. 

Second Year

Second Year fairies have the goal of earning Charmix. Their classes include, magic invocation, magic self-defence, applied convergence and cognitive analysis class, where fairies learn technical incantations, and spells requiring accurate pronunciation.

Third Year

Third Year Classes include, History of Magic, and those who achieve Enchantix will participate in Battle training to hone their skills. The fairies also have a final thesis, also earning Enchantix is more like an extra credit thing.

Graduation

After earning Enchantix, the basic fairy education is completed and they will graduate with Honours and receive the titles of Guardian Fairies of their respective homeworlds on the Day of the Gift. Without Enchantix, the girls still graduate, but they don't become guardian fairies. In this case, they return to their home world and can decide if they want to work towards being a guardian fairy by being an apprentice to one until they earn their Enchantix, or they can do something else. Alumni can also decide to extend their studies and do their masters here at Alfea in any Subject already offered, being mentored by any of the current staff

Winx After Graduation

They taught for a short period of time, before choosing to take their masters here in various subjects in addition to being substitute teachers from time to time.

Architecture and Layout

Outside

The Alfea Natural Park, which is a refuge for Fairy Animals, is found in the forest. It is unknown if parts of the forest close to the school belong to the school or not, but they are also used for classes and tests.

There is a bus stop where students, guests, and staff members can take buses from and to Magix City and to other places in Magix.

Protective barriers meant to keep non-magical creatures, non-fairies, and bad weather out are seen many times in the series.

The School Gates are the only access to the school compound. They consist of a large pink archway with two wing-like doors that move to open or close the gates.

Its campus is a large castle with pink walls and blue roofs built around a courtyard.

Ground / First Floor

Most of the Classrooms are found on the ground floor around the central courtyard. The side buildings have corridors through which the classrooms can be accessed and it has stairways from which the upper parts of the school can be accessed.

Namely: On the East Wing, Applied Convergence Classroom, Technical Incantations Classroom, Magic Invocation Classroom, Magic Defence Classroom, and on the West Wing, Potionology Classroom, Metamorphosymbiosis Classroom, and the Survival Training Classroom. Each classroom also acts as storage for whatever items the subject requires.

The School Kitchen, where Chef Sfoglia works, Students may also be assigned to do the cooking as chores or as punishment. Located in the West Wing

In the North Wing, The Entrance Hall is a large room found opposite the School Gates, and it is accessed by a set of grand stairs.

The Cafeteria / School Hall is a large room found on the ground floor. It has a large dome of glass as its outer wall and there are long tables where the students have their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has a special tier for staff members. Parties and balls are often held there and during such occasions, the tables are removed to make a place for the festivities. It is found below the Headmistress' Office and behind the Entrance Hall, in the North Wing.

The West Wing also contains The School Infirmary where students are treated in case of health problems and injuries. It is composed of an office and a resting room with many beds. It is managed by Nurse Ofelia and her assistant.

The West Tower is where the Magic Archive of Alfea is found. Precious and rare books and scrolls about many things can be found there and the school's Codex used to be kept there. A Pixie, named Concorda, is the keeper of the Secret Archives.

The first floor of the east tower contains the Applied convergence Classroom which also acts as the School Amphitheater for formal gatherings required by the Headmistress or otherwise. the students sometimes attend the school assembly and it is also where general meetings are often held, especially in crisis times. There is a table with chairs around it where staff members sit. Exams may also be held there.

The Central Courtyard is a large open space at the centre of the school. It contains:

Benches where students can sit and spend their free time. The Well, with underground tunnels that connects Alfea to the other magical schools, and contains various rooms and obstacles to go through in order to obtain the Star of Teamwork. It functions as a gathering area for celebrations such as the beginning of the year and graduation ceremonies are done. It also serves as a landing space for Red Fountain ships.

Around the sides are the Gardens of Alfea. A place where students can relax and study and even practice their abilities with the accompaniment of nature.

And around the back is an open space mainly used for classes with a practical component.

Second Floor

The student Dormitories (enchanted to be bigger on the inside). Located in both the East and West Wings.

The North wing’s first floor’s ceiling is very high, taking up 2 floors, and therefore technically there is nothing here.

The Simulation Room is where virtual simulations take place. It can also be used to teleport people to other locations. Professor Palladium is the one who is in charge of the Simulation Chamber.

There is technically nothing here in the West Wing because the Archive Room Ceiling is the tallest in the entire school, taking up 4 floors. (Tho it can still be accessed from here as well but the platform is small so people usually dont.)

Third Floor

The student Dormitories (enchanted to be bigger on the inside). Located in both the East and West Wings.

The History of Magic Classroom in the East Wing Tower

And in the North Wing, the staff and Faragonda’s offices. Outside of which there is a small seating area.

Fifth Floor

Only contains the Viewing Decks atop the two Towers of Alfea. Only accessible by Flight or Teleportation.

Basement

The basement of Alfea is sprawling. It contains what will become Musa’s Music Cafe, the Alfea Museum, the Hall of Memories (formerly: Fairy Animals), the magical Entrance to the Alfea Greenhouse, the Library (containing the Research Lectern with Miss Barbetea as its Librarian) with its Restricted Section, and finally the Hall of Enchantments (It contains the hall of infamy, where the portraits of all the enemies of the Magic Dimension can be found, the entire history of the magical universe and contains the Heart of Alfea), only accessible through the Headmistress’s Office.

The rest of the images here include a Key, a Compass and a small sketch i did to plan out how many floors Alfea actually has.

Dorm Assignments

The students use all three levels of the student dorms. And where they go rotate every three years. So if you joined the school and are assigned to the second floor dorms, you stay there until u graduate then the freshmen after you will take over it.

Once again all dorms are enchanted to be bigger than they seem.

For the Staff, (All dorms are enchanted to be bigger than they seem from the outside)

Faragonda and Grizelda (daphne in future) Share a dorm, the North Wing, central Dorm.

Palladium, Wizzgizz, Avalon share a dorm, the North Wing, East (left) Dorm

When the winx become teachers, they will insist on sharing a dorm, the North Wing, West (right) dorm.

The non teaching staff usually have a built in dorm at wherever they are working, so Miss Barbetea has a room in the library, and Nurse Ofelia and her assistant share a room in the infirmary and so on. Their rooms are also enchanted so they are bigger on the inside.

I noticed the temple fusion appears in the Iolite episode. Do you have a name and a full design for her?

For now I'm just calling her Obsidian. She *does* technically have a full design but only as a Temple right now lol. I do have to actually get around to fully designing her.

Actually, she was originally designed as a standard Momswap Temple (I've often mentioned that I was originally going to do the og Homeworld Trio).

You'll notice Pearl is in here, too. The original intention was that Pearl, at some point, had to be poofed because she went a little whacko. Her Gem was actually stored in the Temple's Pearl and she would have been released during an Earthquake or something that would have broken the Temple's Pearl. It was kind of a strange mix of Black Pearl, Bismuth, and Spinel.

That story has long since been abandoned though. Now Ruby and Amethyst have been added and Jasper was removed. The bottom pair of arms has also been swapped, and the position of the sword will be different in Twiniverse, too.

(Note, when Iolite mentions the Temple being different she's referring mostly to the addition of the house, but that wasn't really made clear in the comic. Originally it was going to be a gif transitioning between past and present versions of the Temple... but like many other earlier comics I just couldn't be bothered. This is one instance of my original intention to include gifs in the comic much earlier than I started doing so)

Magic Medic (Part 1 of 3) - The 501st

Words: 2.2k Requested by: @rexmeshlasblog Note: She/her pronouns and Y/N are used. The second part will also include an OC (Iseult)—it was originally meant to be a one-shot but became a mini-series instead.

The war was brutal, even for the bravest of people, even for the troopers who had been created to fight for the republic tirelessly. Often with no reward or gratitude for the battles won and sacrifices made. There is no time to truly mourn and grieve the loss of their brothers who perished on the many battlefields spread across the wartorn galaxy.

Despite the never-ending stream of battlefields and warzones, some troopers had found something to help them keep fighting even when they wanted nothing more than to live a normal life, to be free and be able to choose what they wanted rather than someone deciding it for them. Rex was one of those lucky few. His reason for fighting outside of loyalty to what he believed in and his brothers and friends was a medic—specifically, the civvi medic assigned to the 501st.

She was beautiful, an angel in the eyes of many. Gentle, kind, and innocent, even with a contagious laugh that could get even the grumpiest men to smile. (Y/N) Devitt was her name. She comes from a small, peaceful island on an outer rim world, so out of the way, it hadn't been touched by the war and was almost as unknown as Kamino.

She would speak of her family on the odd occasion, but only when asked. Her parents had passed on when she was just a little girl, too young to truly remember them, so her uncle had taken her and her three siblings in and raised them as if they were his own. All three of (Y/N)'s siblings had applied for the GAR, too, when the republic announced they were hiring civilians. One of her brothers was a mechanic assigned to the 212th, and the other was a cryptographer stowed away in the military base on Coruscant. Finally, her sister was a medic, and she was often on rotation. She'd be wherever she was needed. As was typical for civvi medics, there weren't enough for each legion to have their own.

"Do you think Rex knows?" asked Jesse, looking to the datapad in hand; on it was the personnel file of the civvi medic identified as CM-1916. As was customary for the files of civvi personnel, there was a picture and a few personal details, such as last name, homeworld, gender, and age, but that was it. "Our angel is set to be transferred to the 104th," added Jesse as he handed the datapad to Fives and Echo.

Kix stood in the corner, still trying to process his feelings. (Y/N) was the most helpful medic they'd had so far. She had been with them twice throughout her rotations; the first time, she'd not been afraid to speak her mind or have a laugh with the boys. This second time, she'd been calmer, less sarcastic, but still brought light to their dark days.

"She never mentioned she worked with the commandoes before," worded Fives, astonishment flooding his voice as curiosity began to take over. (Y/N) wasn't any stranger to telling stories of her time with other legions, and on the occasions she was back on Coruscant. But she never stated she'd been assigned to Foxtrot and the unorthodox Clone Force 99.

"(Y/N)'s too gentle and innocent to be around Gregor," voiced Kix, almost storming over to the trio of Jesse and the Domino Twins, ignoring Hardcase's mischievous-filled chuckle coming from the stack of crates nearby. Almost as if he was privy to something no one else knew of.

"Rex," called Hardcase when the Captain appeared. There was little doubt he'd come looking for them upon noticing they were absent from the barracks again. There were few places to hide on board a Jedi Cruiser, so Rex only had to eliminate each hiding spot or guess from the small number to find them. "Did you know our precious (Y/N) is being reassigned? The 104th."

"Nobody told me," replied Rex, a smirk appearing across his lips in seconds as his eyes lit up ever so slightly. He managed to stifle his chuckle before it rumbled too loudly. More about what he remembered about (Y/N) and the hidden truth the boys in blue, even General Skywalker, had yet to learn. "(Y/N) just told me she will be staying with us for another rotation," announced Rex, watching as the confusion spread from one brother to the next until it circled back around to where it started.

Fives soon looked back at the datapad, intrigue beginning to paint itself across his features. He was curious. Was there a miscommunication somewhere? Or had the personnel file yet to be updated? Echo soon seemed perplexed. How was it MC-1916, their (Y/N) was to be assigned to the 104th and remained with them simultaneously? They all knew she was a talented medic, but even she couldn't be in two places at once.

Echo soon handed Rex the medical personnel file. A deep chuckle escaped him as he shook his head when his golden eyes landed on the screen. However, the captain didn't elaborate or speak of what had tickled him. Instead, he just grinned as he left the cargo hold, leaving the five troopers known for mischief-making confused in his wake.

"I get the feeling he knows something we don't," Jesse said, his golden eyes locked on the door Rex had chuckled through a few seconds earlier.

"You think," replied Echo, so fast it was as if the Arc Trooper had the words resting on the tip of his tongue. Once again, Hardcase laughed, louder this time, but again, he didn't elaborate or shed light on the theory he was sure held truth to it. After all, in a drunken haze the month prior, he was sure he'd seen two of (Y/N) at the bar of 79's letting loose while on shore leave. He never said anything about it nor asked her, instead believing he'd been so drunk his vision and mind were playing tricks on him.

"Hardcase," called Kix, turning his attention to the hyperactive brother, who seemed lost in thought but smirked like he was waiting for chaos to unfold. Bouncing in his seated position as if he vibrated from all the energy coursing through him. "What do you know?" cautiously asked the medic as he tried to decipher if Hardcase knew anything or was ribbing them again.

"Nothing," replied Hardcase, between his chuckles and sniggers. "Just something I think I saw last month and what Comet said a while back," he added innocently as if he was a cadet again on Kamino being punished for purposely winding up the bounty hunter in charge of training.

"Something you think you saw?" repeated Jesse. His interest was piqued, although he was unsure if it was because of Rex's earlier reaction or the mystery that seemed to unfold before them now. "Do tell."

"At 79's before we were deployed to Seleucami," began Hardcase, thinking back to the fun night again. "I was drunk, seen two of (Y/N), both of them were at the bar, one talking to Cody and Howzer, the other appeared to be playing games with the Bad Batch," he explained, rubbing the back of his neck as if to buff away the embarrassment. The two versions had been identical next to each other, yet no one else seemed to notice there were two versions of (Y/N).

"Two (Y/N)'s," spoke Kix, hearing Fives and Echo sniggering between themselves, almost as if they were in disbelief. Jesse was no better, practically stunned into silence—no doubt questioning how they wouldn't have noticed two versions of their angel. "I love her, but I can't handle two. Be like those two but worse," he commented, throwing a limp hand toward Fives and Echo.

"At least we'd know how she feels dealing with us," replied Fives, ignoring the previous comment, even when Echo pretended to be offended by it. "Makes you wonder what the 104th think is going on; Wolffe's not exactly one for mishaps," added the Arc Trooper, recalling Rex saying the battle-worn commander only seemed to like one of the civvi medics to pass through. Sarcastic, loud, and strong-willed, his eye hadn't bothered her, nor had his growls when she dragged him to her medbay.

"I don't think he'll care as long as the civvi medic knows what they're doing," replied Echo, looking up when the door to the cargo hold swooshed open. Rex returned behind (Y/N), now dressed in ordinary civvi clothes. Hyperspace was her off-duty time, or at least that's what they liked to say. (Y/N) however, always said medics didn't have the luxury of being off duty. Someone always needed their help.

"(Y/N)," called Jesse, confusion still written across his lips. "Why didn't you tell us about your ability to be in two places at once?" he asked, hearing (Y/N) sweetly chuckle, her eyes lighting up in amusement.

"I thought you boys already knew I could teleport," replied (Y/N), as another small giggle escaped her. Even more so as she witnessed the small group trying to figure out if she was serious or not. Although she'd admit she found it amusing, they hadn't seen the truth yet, even when all the clues were before them. "My ma was a witch from Dathomir; she taught me a trick or two," she added, her smile brightening just slightly as mischief began to lace through it.

"Neat trick, even if confusing when first seeing it," added Rex, refusing to admit he knew the truth. He was happy to keep it a secret for a little longer, if only to get some overdue payback on the five brothers gathered in the hold. "I don't think General Skywalker or Commander Tano quite wrapped their heads around it yet either," laughed the captain, throwing the two Jedi into the conversation for good measure.

"Do tell," called Kix, his brows sown together as if he suspected something wasn't quite what it seemed. Echo seemed to share his suspicion, although it was unclear if they were on the same trail.

"First date of all times," answered (Y/N), recalling that it had been an accident. Thankfully, Rex understood after it had been explained to him thrice. "Got a little distracted while waiting for Rex to return from the refresher, accidentally teleported to the bar," she explained, another sweet giggle escaping her lips. "Poor Comet, he didn't know what to do."

"Nah, the first time I noticed it was at the base," corrected the great Captain. Recalling the event, even now, it still drew a chuckle out of him, especially when he'd not been the only one to witness the unusual event or be bewildered by it. "You and Fox walked past me, Cody, and Wolffe. We saw you again with Clone Force 99 when we rounded the corner," recalled Rex.

"What …" Jesse called out in utter bewilderment. "How … What … I don't get it … What?"

"So you can teleport and pester more than one of us at a time?" questioned Fives, "Please teach me, please, please, please," he begged, his mischievous glint returning although tainted with confusion. He'd never met a civvi who could teleport, let alone cause so much chaos by helping people.

"What do you need to teleport for? You got Echo," called Hardcase, laughing at himself when he fell off the crates he'd previously been perched on. "You two switch so much; it's a game called Guess the Domino."

"Should we tell them?" asked (Y/N), looking down at the personnel file on the datapad. Her smile only seemed to widen when she did. Even more so when she knew all the clues to the truth were in front of the troopers, especially if they looked close enough.

"Nope," simply replied Rex.

"Tell us what?" called Kix, curious now more than ever. "Rex, (Y/N), tell us what?"

"I still owe you a caf date, right?" asked Rex, recalling when he had to take a rain check. He'd skipped the date to ensure General Skywalker's secret stayed as such.

"Yup," voiced (Y/N), popping the p. While taking the hint to draw out the torment of the collection of boys in blue.

"Rex corrupted our angel," Echo said playfully, accusing their captain. "Wait, don't medics outrank everyone?'

"You boys are smart; you'll work it out," called Rex as he led (Y/N) back through the door. He intended to take her to the mess hall for the caf, if only so the pair could laugh about it a little bit more. "Eventually."

"Game on," voiced Fives, accepting the challenge to figure out the truth. "I'll wager we'll have it figured by the time we get back to Coruscant," he called, acting far more confident than he felt. How were they going to figure out what was going on? What Rex and (Y/N) were hiding from them.

"You're not gonna let them live this down, are you?" asked (Y/N) as the two walked toward the lift.

"Nope," replied Rex with a mischievous grin of his own now. "Although I have a few ideas on how to prolong it," he added. "It involves Iseult," he whispered when close enough to ensure no one else heard the whispered name or learned about the secret weapon of mischief.

This time, after their time in FoF, ATN! Tangle and Whisper are returned to their homeworld. However, due to a glitch, FoF Tangle and Whisper are brought with them, and all four end up in Team Dark's house.

While the dark trio is happy to see their new friends again, seeing two of each is surprising.

How does this go down? Particularly with FoF!Tangle and FoF!Whisper?

“Wait- what are you guys doing here?!” ATN!Tangle asked.

“I dunno!” FOF!Tangle answered worriedly. “For some reason we were brought here with y-“

“IMPOSTORS!”

All of a sudden, Omega was aiming his barrel gun at the FOF variants of Tangle and Whisper, who screamed at the sight of it. “FEAR NOT, I WILL ELIMINATE-“

“HOLD ON!” ATN!Whisper yelled as her and her girlfriend dashed in front of them. “They aren’t impostors!”

“Well, what would you call them, then?” Shadow asked, unconvinced.

“…counterparts?”

After a couple of minutes of explaining, Team Dark was able to get a grasp on the situation.

“I see… so you two are stuck here?” Rouge asked the other Tangle and Whisper.

“Only momentarily,” FOF!Whisper said. “It happened with our variants of Surge, Jewel and Trip. They came back to our world just fine.”

The mention of Jewel peaked Rouge’s interest. She leaned towards FOF!Tangle, and Shadow rolled his eyes, knowing what she was gonna ask.

“…your variant of Jewel… does she like me in your world?”

“Nope. She’s dating Surge,” FOF!Tangle snickered.

Rouge pouted and crossed her arms. “HER, of all people? What a let down…”

“Well, on the bright side, she did let you take charge of her museum.”

“Oh?” Rouge smirked. “I guess that’s a plus…”

“How convenient you’re crushing on someone named ‘Jewel,’ though,” FOF!Tangle joked.

ATN!Tangle’s ears perked up. “Wait a minute, yeah! That is funny!”

Both Tangles laughed while Rouge blushed, rolling her eyes.

Meanwhile, ATN!Whisper noticed that her counterpart was looking away from Shadow. He and Omega saw this too.

“…you have the same story as me, don’t you?” ATN!Whisper asked.

FOF!Whisper opened her eyes and looked up. “Does… does Shadow know?”

“I do. And so does Omega,” Shadow said calmly.

“I MADE A GRAVE ERROR IN LEAVING A DESTROYED SHADOW ANDROID WHERE THIS WHISPER COULD SEE IT,” Omega explained. “I DID NOT COMPUTE HOW SHE WOULD FEEL.”

FOF!Whisper looked at Omega, dumbfounded, and turned to Shadow.

“He kept it as a trophy,” Shadow scoffed. “After some talking, we got rid of it.”

FOF!Whisper hummed.

“Have you… properly met your Shadow yet?”

“I haven’t,” FOF!Whisper said. “Haven’t seen him since Eggperial City.”

“WELL, I AM SURE HE IS SIMILAR TO OUR SHADOW,” Omega said, clamping a hand on Shadow’s head, to his annoyance.

“We’re not forcing you to talk to him or anything,” the black hedgehog started, swatting Omega’s hand off. “But I’m sure he’d understand your grievances.”

He looked at ATN!Whisper. “…like I did with her.”

ATN!Whisper smiled and nodded.

FOF!Whisper looked at Shadow, her lip curving up a little.

“…thank you. I’ll be sure to remember that.”

relationships: first semester edition

first impressions, icks, and all that fun stuff

Notes:

By ‘first semester’ I’m loosely estimating the time around the events of Books 1-3 (but hng there are some plot points I wanna ignore. For the vibes)

Mentions of misogyny, bullying, physical violence but it doesn’t go into heavy detail (I’m just a humanities major tryna condense these interactions into 100-200ish words.)

Getting this outta the way, yes, everyone can (or will) clock that she has a crush on Jamil. While it is entertaining in the same way reality TV/a car crash is, most of them find it pitiful.

This post ended up so long, I'm so sorry 🙇‍♂️(not sorry for giving my girl Lou all these challenges😤)

Heartslabyul

Riddle Rosehearts

Lou was already scared from hearing secondhand information (thanks Ace🙄but this is what her chismosa-nature gets her) about how Riddle was being a tyrant in Heartslabyul. But after meeting him for realsies, she got a liiiiil irked about how uptight he was with rules, (“‘Rules are good for keeping order’? What kind of order? Hierarchical order??”)

At first, Riddle thought she’d have a good head on her shoulders. He was wrong, but thankfully they don’t interact that much to butt heads often. During the occasional joint class, he finds that she’s just as lackadaisical as some NRC students but at least she’s willing to defer listen to her upperclassmen. (Though, her coarse language is very very grating to him. He doesn’t know that she likes to break the rules of formal English every day. Not yet, at least.)

Trey Clover

Lou was glad to see that there was a reliable older brother figure in Heartslabyul to balance out Riddle’s—uh….(flips through dictionary for nice words)—neurotic side. (Before properly meeting any of the dorms, she initially visualized NRC as a kinda big frat party kinda thing, but that’s her overdramatizing her situation.) Those first few weeks of adjusting to living at the Ramshackle dormitory though, made her embarrassed by how much of his baking she was smuggling during her first Unbirthday party visits. 

Trey doesn’t really see her around unless she’s hanging out with Ace and Deuce. For all his worrying, he liked that she balances out the 1-A trio dynamic, that eased his worries a little bit. Until he realized that she has a cheeky side like Ace. Truly he wasn’t gonna be given much of a break from playing the sensible upperclassman. 

Cater Diamond

Extravert warning of the microinfluencer variety. (Back in her homeworld, Lou has met a few of those and she did not have good experiences with them). But on the bright side, after going through the ordeals of Riddle’s Overblot together, she eventually warms up to Cater, not quite clocking that he has an introverted-ish side, but more of her realizing that she was judging him for being a stereotype and that she should make an effort to see past that 😇(Soon, she shall work up the courage to ask him for guitar-playing tips, esp for fingerstyle).

Immediately notices there’s something wrong with this girl. Nah, not really, but when Cater’s combing through his Unbirthday Party pics before uploading the best onto Magicam, he notices that Lou’s…resting expression? has something off about it. It’s uncomfy in the way that one looks at oneself in the mirror. But since they both reflexively distance themselves from people, it’ll take a bit of a while before they get to have those uncomfy-but-needed conversations as senpai-kouhai.

Ace Trappola

Did not like him on first meeting, but there truly is nothing like the bonds of friendship forged from the fires of adversity. Lou does appreciate that Ace has the courage to speak up against shitty/unjust situations (though she won’t vocalize that she’s on his side, much to his chagrin). She also strongly envies anyone with slight math proficiency, but still has a bit too much pride to ask him upfront for help. (So whenever Deuce asks, she’s sliding into the conversation nonchalantly.)

At first Ace thought she was a goody two shoes like Deuce. But he didn't expect her to sympathize with his grievances towards Riddle’s rigidity. Much less, her lil cheeky spontaneous side. (But he does have slight beef with how she pretends to be innocent unless she really gets caught red-handed). He has tried confronting her about her slight two-faced moments, but that conversation just kept going in circles so, it’ll have to come up at another more inconvenient time.

Deuce Spade

Thank you Deuce for voicing the questions that Lou’s too shy to (It will take her a bit of a while to actually vocalize the things she’s grateful for to the 1-A trio, mayhaps post-Book 6?) But she did laugh out loud when he thought chickens came from store-bought eggs. She does feel bad about using him like a human shield when she feels a physical confrontation about to happen, but she doesn’t stop doing it until the events of Book 3. Seeing her “kinda-first friends” being subjected to the Octatrio’s shenanigans pushed her into doing something brave. And stupid, like using Ramshackle as collateral. She sometimes gets the urge to try coloring her hair so she fits in a bit better at the magical anime boys school, but isn’t sure if Deuce would be willing to try bleaching her hair.

It takes a while before Deuce realizes that she has a two-faced side. (And it does cause a small rift in their friendship when some more issues come to light). But other than that, they have a sort of reputation as those struggling academically, it’s a bit of an inside joke between them.

Savanaclaw

Leona Kingscholar

Lou actually drops her facade around him, that threat about yanking out her teeth sounds serious. Doesn't call him 'kuya' (big brother) like she does with the other upperclassmen, jumps straight into calling him 'ninong' (uncle), especially after meeting Cheka. Is way more reserved around him, but more upfront about her feelings compared to the rest of the twst charas. 

Immediately notices there is something wrong with this girl, or rather hears it? Leona finds that she's actually quite vitriolic compared to the “friendly” first impression she made at the Opening Ceremony, which doesn't surprise him. In that sense, she fits right in at NRC. Tbh, he susses out the rest of her general personality just from playing chess with her during the events of Book 3. She loves moving her knights, but loses steam through the middle and end game. Chess veterans, u tell me what that says about her lmao.

Ruggie Bucchi

Lou is so happy to find someone willing to split meals with her. (There’s nowhere else to go for this relationship to go but up, esp after the events of Book 4 JK SIKE—) So imagine her betrayal when it comes to light that he was one of the major culprits behind the accidents during the Interdorm tournament. She already noticed that he has a scheme-y side to him, but when she thinks about how [redacted for irrelevance], she realizes that she isn’t really losing much when she’s letting herself get played for a fool.

Damn, this girl is pathetic - Wait, she has leftovers? Ruggie kinda reevaluates that initial brush-off of her because of how often she shares food with him. At some point, he kiiinda gets hit in the conscience by seeing how skinny she is and how little she eats during meals. But like, he can't stand wasting food. (Unwillingly, he kind of takes it on himself to teach her little life hacks for living on her own. Unbeknownst to her, he snatches just a lil bit from her wallet in addition to the leftovers she gifts him. For some just payment.)

Jack Howl

Damn, this girl is kinda pathetic, she needs to work hard and improve herself. (Jack! She has undiagnosed mental illness, you can't just say that!) Because of Book 3, he gets a front seat to her two-facedness which rubs him the wrong way, but she does seem to be doing it for her friends, so he can’t argue against that. (It doesn’t stop him from sermoning/doting on her like he would for his younger siblings.) Going into headcanon territory here, but I like to think that Jack and his fam are Fil-Can, so he understands a bit of her Tagalog (which makes her feel a little less homesick), though she uses so much slang, he sometimes can’t keep up.

Lou also didn’t like Jack on first meeting. She gets irked by moralistic types of people, but she grows a grudging sense of respect for Jack after Book 3. (Doesn’t stop her from always using him as a shield whenever there’s an intimidating person nearby.) On second thought, she does feel a biiit guilty that he genuinely gives her solutions when she vents aloud (even if it’s mostly for the drama), so she tries not to do it within earshot.

Octavinelle

Azul Ashengrotto

At first Lou was kinda unimpressed with his whole merchant schtick. (“Can you recreate my lola’s sinigang recipe? No? *intensely disappointed face* Oh… that’s alright, I’m fine now.”) Girlie was gambling on the fact that they had 200 anemones to look after and that they had nothing to offer each other to fly under his radar. Hates these types of “give an inch, they’ll take a mile” people. In spite of the thalassophobia trauma she received, one good thing came from Azul’s Overblot and that was getting to hound him with extra bureaucracy shit.

This girl is two-faced, has ulterior motives and is pretending to be dumb, someone PLEASE confirm what Azul’s seeing. Forms a tentative partnership with her, since she comes across as innocent and well-meaning to a sizable amount of people (compared to the three of ‘em in Octavinelle, who are on the more intimidating side), so at least he managed to find a use out of her! Does he sympathize with her as they were both bullying victims…? lmao no. It gives him a slight sense of catharsis to be mean to her.

Floyd Leech

Oh no, her thalassophobia grew a pair of legs. Lou was already tuning out the giant glass wall of the Mostro Lounge, what do you mean she caught the attention of the Leech twins? It’s hard to put on a boring facade when they have the audacity to just pick her up and squeeze her. (Ironically, it’s her being bothered by the tweels staved off most other NRC students’ attempts to bully her because like… that’s just sad.)

Calls her Triggerfish, also clocks her two-facedness but he finds Azul’s frustration towards her funny. Floyd likes that she’s high strung. Initially found her screaming and thrashing entertaining (“Wow, look at her lungs go”) though he might get bored of it at some point. But considering the shit that will happen in Book 4, that’s not gonna happen any time soon. 

Jade Leech

Oh no, her thalassophobia has a twin. She also made the mistake of thinking that Jade was the easier twin to negotiate with (as she tends to misjudge the vice housewardens 😔 This will not be the last time this happens.) Absolutely cannot get a read on this guy, and just always braces for the worst if she ever gets approached. That changes when he offers a smidge of the gossip he knows about, suddenly she’s willing to bear with the shenanigans and ordeals.

Also likes that she’s high strung. “Yes, Floyd, look at her lungs go” pt. 2 Electric Boogaloo. Imagine his joy when Jade found out that she also likes wordplay and puns, tried recruiting her into the Mountain Lovers’ club but she's so adamant on saying "no" 😔 (When she was looking for an arts club to join, mans really thought he could be the one out of the Octatrio to be able to get her to agree to something wholeheartedly.)

Scarabia

Kalim al-Asim

Lou gets so tired hanging out with him. But genuinely does get disarmed by how goodhearted he is, to the point that she'd talk about her pre-isekai life. Though that kind of changes during the Scarabia arc proper, upon hearing more about his family life she [redacted for irrelevance] and distances herself. Until the VDC happens /shrug

She's so shy :( but she seems fun! Kalim mistakenly thinks that she needs to be coaxed out of her shell with a good enough party (U sweet summer child, that will do the opposite). Is one of the people supplying her with too much leftovers, he doesn't know that Ruggie has to step in until like a bit later down the school year. It takes a bit for him to acknowledge that she’s two-faced, he just thinks that she also needs a bit of encouragement to speak up more (which is kinda true).

Jamil Viper

Lou’s idea of dealing with a crush in a face-to-face situation is to pretend that it is not there at all. (“Whomil Viper? I don’t even know her.”) It doesn’t help that she blushes easily. This sucks for her specifically. That aside, she tries really hard to make herself scarce when Jamil’s in the same room (though it’s hard to when she keeps glancing over at him) because she can intuit that he’s probably one minor inconvenience away from exploding out of stress. It’s an effect of living in a household where [redacted for length and relevance].

Doesn’t have that many strong opinions on first years, Jamil can easily play the role of a helpful upperclassman. There is something up with this girl, but Jamil notices retroactively that she is surprisingly good at saying little about herself? (Tho it is amusing to see how jumpy she is around him, a little ego boost for the day or sumn. He could probably use this for his little plan during the winter break, who knows /shrug).

Pomefiore

Vil Schoenheit

(Call Me Mother by RuPaul starts playing) Lou usually swaps between ‘ate’ (big sister) and ‘kuya’ when referring to him. As a general reaction to most Pomefiore (and Diasomnia students), she’s a little starstruck watching them from afar. Until she sees how haughty some of them are. Though in Vil’s case, she kind of bears with his harsh, critical nature. She might be the least cautious? around him compared to the other housewardens, because in her mind, everything she does will annoy him. (And it eases her homesickness in a weird, twisted way). There’s little she can do to salvage her image in front of him, so there’s no way it can get worse (cue VDC arc looming in the distance.)

The lost potential in this girl will give Vil an aneurysm. She ditched her audition for the Film Studies Club, she rarely ever wears her uniform properly, she’s probably running on fumes for most days of the week. There’s a lot to glean about her just from how she presents herself, and it is an eyesore. 

Epel Felmier

There is something off about this innocent-looking guy, but Lou can’t put her finger on it. Until she saw Epel when he’s not under Vil’s watchful eye. She realized once again that she had misjudged him as a stereotype, and that she should strive to see past that. She tries her best to be civil.

Epel has heard about the hijinks she and the other 1-A peeps have gotten up to. The chandelier incident, the magestone finding, and managing to avoid expulsion by the skin of their teeth. And that sounded so cool to him, until he saw how shy and withdrawn she was in person, thus reared up his internalized misogyny. (They could have ended up in a scuffle but they’re 2 petite people tryna throw hands. He’s the first person to get her to full-on drop her people-pleaser attitude though, if that’s anything of note.)

Rook Hunt

Lou tries so hard not to judge the outwardly eccentric people. And then she finds out he’s a fervent patron of the arts (++he also knows some juicy gossip). If she weren’t so shy, he’d probably be the third year that she’d approach the most. 

(Tbh, I couldn’t think of a nickname he’d give her, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there 🤧) Like Vil, he also laments her lost potential (Whatever that is, Lou isn’t willing to hear it). He has tried to get her to join the Science Club, but she respectfully declined his offer (read: ghosted him after his long-winded spiel).

Ignihyde

Idia Shroud

Theoretically, they are the most similar in terms of disposition and interests but realistically, having them in the same room is like mixing oil and water. Lou felt like looking into a mirror when she met him in person for the first time. And she did not like him at all. She’s glad that he’s hardly ever on campus.

Idia sees how much of a people-pleaser she is, and he’s all “extravert /derogatory—wait, she likes anime and video games too? …Oh, she has normie taste…” (Cue Lou throwing that line back in his face after he goes on a Premo tangent). They could have ended up in a physical scuffle, but it’s very easy to stop 2 sedentary nerds from throwing hands, so all’s good 😇 (The relationship will worsen by Book 6).

Ortho Shroud

A walking Google…no, he’s a walking CCTV. Lou tries not to interact with him too much, especially after coming to that realization. As much as she really wants to spend a whole afternoon just asking questions about Twisted Wonderland and stuff, he sometimes sets off her hypochondriac-isms. (In an ideal world, she believes she could parse together his jargon-filled responses.)

With all of his technomantic enhancements, Ortho notices very quickly that there is something wrong with this girl, just from scanning her biometrics. But he gets a little frustrated at how she’s willing to brush off his worrying (the similarities between her and Idia are never ending 😤)

Diasomnia

Malleus Draconia

Assuming she meets him after learning about the different types of non-humans in Twisted Wonderland, Lou is hellbent on making sure never to set off Malleus. (So imagine her confusion during Book 2, hearing that he might be injured? Like…how 🤔 He’s got guards with him…and he has lots of magic…how would a student be able to cause an accident?) She’s not fine with knowing that he likes to roam around Ramshackle, but she’ll turn away and claim deniability at seeing him there. It’s like ignoring ghosts🤧

She faces him with the same fear that most people do, and that doesn’t really paint a favorable impression with Malleus. In the end, she’s not that memorable a face for him.

Lilia Vanrouge

Lou probably first saw him when the Pop Music Club was tryna recruit new members. Actually doesn’t mind that he sings screamo style, if the music’s hard enough Lou can vibe with it. But also, seeing that there were only 3 of them in the club was enough of a sign for her to sign-up elsewhere. Out of all the Diasomnia people, she can hold a conversation with Lilia.

Lilia is a tad bit concerned for her, but in the way that he gets concerned over the young'uns of today. If they were closer, he’d definitely invite her over whenever he gets to cook. He does notice that she has a bit of an abrasive relationship with Sebek, but he’s not too worried about it, it’s good that he’s friends with someone who’s willing to voice their opinions.

Silver

A little starstruck meeting him. But also Lou doesn’t want to wait for the other shoe to drop. She keeps her distance. Especially after seeing how imposing they were during the showdown in Book 2. (It’ll take until Book 7 for their relationship to have any meaningful developments).

Silver doesn’t have any strong opinions on her. She seems nice, they’ve had civil conversations. Though he finds it a bit offputting at how she’s envious of how much sleep he gets… like girl, please stop hyping up his narcolepsy, it’s not fun being at the whims of the urge to sleep. (Then again, it takes him a bit to piece together that she’s an insomniac).

Sebek Zigvolt

Also a little starstruck meeting him for the first time. Then he opened his mouth and Lou remembered that she does not like condescending people. Which sucks, because he’s also an appreciator of the arts and they could have meaningful discussions, except they usually end up one step away from full-on verbal arguments (he’s one of the few who unintentionally gets her to drop her people-pleaser facade, if that’s anything to note.)

Another human who refuses to know their place, it is a travesty to see such behavior in Night Raven College, Sebek laments. (It will also take a while for their relationship to have any meaningful developments.) While she has her passable moments, especially in front of their upperclassmen, he also overhears her little snarky comments. It annoys him and he will sermon her, even though it gets them both told off by the professor.

tl;dr: maybe i put too much thought into this (and i will probably do this again when i get the spoons to talk about books 4-6. book 7 will deffo be its own beast lmao) but i think this pretty much sums up how i'll be characterizing lou and her interactions with the cast when i decide to post some drabbles. its great that there are ppl observant enough to see that girlie has Issues™
