Everyone was gathered in the Restoration's largest meeting room again. At the head of the table, Tikal stood with a checklist in her hands, and she nervously glanced between everyone sitting in front of her.

"Thank you all for coming here," she said, "I know these sorts of questions might not be the kind that most of you would be comfortable answering, but I do really think this will be an important thing for all of us to know, should times get especially tough around here."

Surge rolled her eyes, "Just get on with it, Annoying Orange."

Knuckles glared at Surge from across the table as Tikal cleared her throat.

"O-Okay," she said, "Question one. Who here knows at least one of their birth parents?"

Everyone except Sonic, Bean, Charmy, Silver, Surge, Kit, and Trip raised their hands.

"Okay, okay, good," Tikal said, writing that down, "And, uh, of those of you who do, who has a positive relationship with your birth parents?"

Almost instantly Lanolin, Amy, Tails, Tangle, Espio, Blaze, Belle, and Shadow slammed their hands down onto the table. Jewel hesitated lowering hers for a moment.

"Does it count if I had a good relationship with them before they died?" she asked.

Bark nodded and jerked his thumb to Jewel. Tikal blinked, and just shook her head as she marked down Bark and Jewel under an entire new category she had to make up. She looked up to see the only people still raising their hands were Cream, Rouge, and Whisper. Surge particularly noticed the wolf's lack of anguish.

"How the hell do you of all people not have any baggage with your folks?" the tenrec asked, "You're life's like a walking slideshow of misery!"

Whisper grimaced at Surge, but shrugged.

"I guess I was granted at least one small mercy."

Tikal placed her paper and pencil down and rubbed her temples.

"I guess this is how a bunch of teens wind up doing more world saving work than the military." she thought in dismay.

The Neo Diamond Cutters are returning home from a successful mission when suddenly the Diamond Cutters from All Together Now (complete with Bean and Bark) appear in front of them!

How does either team react to their new imposters?!

(this is gonna be long, bear with me)

“Oh, wonderful. This is becoming a theme…” Ashley grumbled.

“So, uh, care to explain why there’s TWO TANGLES AND WHISPERS?!” Bean shrieked, shaking Ashley by the shoulders.

“Relax, dude. Something to do with a wormhole, I guess. It’s not the first time it happened in our world,” the leopard explained. “One time I came across this freaky looking shrike that sounded like static.”

Bark shivered, while Bean winced. “Sounds terrifying…”

“It was. But it blipped back into its world shortly after, so the same thing should happen with you guys, too. But while you’re still here… how’d you get in the Neos?”

Bean and Bark just looked at her, confused.

“Neo Diamond Cutters? Are you not called that in your world?”

Bark shook his head.

“Gotta admit, that sounds a lot cooler…” the bird mumbled. “But Tangle and Whisper took us in, even after realizing we were criminals! It’s been smooth sailin’ ever since! The boss lady’s kind of a downer, though…”

“Eh, in her defense, you gotta have someone to keep things in check…” the leopard chuckled. “Whisper was actually the one who offered me a spot on their team. I was kinda shocked, considering I kept accusing her of ki-“

She stopped. Whoops. She was saying too much.

Bark sat in front of Ashley, curious.

“…accused her offff…?” Bean asked.

Ashley shook her head and pat Bean’s head.

“…it’s a more personal thing on Whisper’s side. Don’t press the one for your world about it, though, alright? She’ll tell you if, or when she thinks it’s the right time.”

Bean happily leaned into Ashley’s robotic hand.

“Gotcha,” Bean answered, while Bark gave her a thumbs up.

“Mimic gave you that scar?!” ATN!Tangle gasped.

“Yeah… it’s all good though! He’s been locked up ever since! My face healed up nicely after a couple days, and now I’m living well in a nice home with Whisp!” FOF!Tangle answered. “Can the same be said for you?”

“Pretty much! Although there have been some hiccups. We got through ‘em though, and now we’re sharin’ a house with Bean and Bark!” ATN!Tangle said.

“Woah, with those guys?” FOF!Tangle laughed a little. “That must be fun.”

“Trust me, it’s not as bad as you think. And it’s nice to have a living space that I can call mine after… um…”

ATN!Tangle trailed off a bit.

“You good?” FOF!Tangle asked, concerned.

“Well… sorry, I was thinking about some familial issues. I don’t wanna be a downer-“

“Hey.” FOF!Tangle put a hand on her counterpart’s shoulder. “You’re not gonna be here forever. If you need someone to talk to about that, I’m happy to hear it.”

ATN!Tangle smiled softly and wiped her nose.

“…thank you.”

“Nice to see I’m eating well in this world, too,” ATN!Whisper said happily.

FOF!Whisper gave her an appreciative nod. “Have you… also gotten insecure about it?”

“Oh, absolutely. ‘Course, I was told it was okay. Just shows that I’ve been a lot happier as of late.”

“That’s goes for both of us, then,” FOF!Whisper responded, giving her counterpart a thumbs up. “Well, while you’re still here, I must ask… have you used your wisps’ powers on yourself?”

ATN!Whisper cocked her head to the side.

“Y’know, kinda like Sonic has…”

“…I can do that?”

“Possibly, if you’re able to train yourself. I haven’t perfected all their powers yet, but that’s only part of the process.” FOF!Whisper explained. “Can give you tips if you’d like.”

“Won’t be necessary,” ATN!Whisper declined. “I’d rather not mess with their powers like that.”

She smirked. “I’ll keep what you said in mind though.”

Both Lanolins were leaning against the wall all nonchalant, both holding cups of coffee.

“So… you also hate your mom?” FOF!Lanolin asked.

“Mhm.”

“Always got worked shoved in your face?”

“Yup.”

“But you have friends that make it somewhat worth it?”

“Correctamundo.”

They looked at each other, and clinked their glasses together.

“Livin’ like Lanny,” they both said at the same time, sipping their mugs.

This time, Belle, Grease, and Kit are chilling in the Machine Shop when ATN!Belle, Sigma, Mecha Sonic, and Mecha Knuckles (and maybe the Egg Robos too) pop into existence there.

How does either Belle react to each other's looks, and how does everyone take the sudden appearance of the Scrapniks?

“Oh! Okay!” Grease laughed as Kit floated up in the air with his water tentacles. “There are badniks in the machine shop! WHY ARE THERE BADNIKS IN THE MACHINE SHOP?????”

“W-wait a minute! These guys aren’t bad!” ATN!Belle blurted out, standing in front of the robots. “My impression on them wasn’t great either, but… um…”

She turned to her counterpart, who was speechless by the sudden appearance.

“Why do I look like a mouse…?”

While the two Belles conversed separately, Grease and Kit were face to face with what were apparently “Scrapniks.”

“Whaddaya mea-a-an we’re still on Scrapnik I-I-I-Island in ‘this world?’” Mecha Knuckles asked. “You’d thi-i-i-ink Sonic would have g-g-g-given us a place to-o-o-o-o stay by now!”

“YOUR PATIENCE IS REQUESTED, MECHA KNUCKLES,” Sigma told him. “PERHAPS THERE IS A REASON WE ARE NOT PRESENT IN THIS WORLD YET.”

“I am positive we are still living peaceful lives on Scrapnik Island here,” Mecha Sonic assured them both. “There must be a reason we haven’t left there yet.”

“Maybe S̸̡̨̧͓͔̟̮͙͎̮͚̭̈̄̇̌͆̒̅̕͜õ̴͈̤̃̈́ṇ̷̡̤͍̞̬̲̮̞̱̺̈́̏̔̈́̒̌͗͐̋̕̚̚i̶̤̙̜͋̓̓̀̋̅ć̴̢̢̘͕͙͚̩̭̳͉̉̂̓́͒͐̍ just straight up forgot about you,” Kit scowled, looking away.

All eyes landed on the kitsune.

“IS SOMETHING TROUBLING THE LITTLE ONE?” Sigma asked Grease.

The orangutan monkey just shrugged. “Heck if I know. An… incident happened with our Belle, and he’s been like that when it comes to Sonic ever since…”

The three robots looked at each other.

“Fre-e-e-eaky,” Mecha Knuckles muttered.

“I’d keep an eye on him, just in case,” Mecha Sonic said.

Grease rubbed the back of his head. “Hey, we’re doin’ our best here…”

“I have to admit… I miss when I looked like that,” FOF!Belle chuckled nervously.

“Please… don’t dodge the question,” ATN!Belle sighed. “Why do you look like that?”

FOF!Belle looked down. “Well, I… I did something stupid out of anger and jealousy. I pushed away those that tried to help me, and got myself crushed.”

“CRUSHED?!”

“Mhm. It took Tails, Kit and even Vanilla to put me back together. I was too messed up to go back to my original look, so they had to work with what they had,” FOF!Belle finished.

“M-may I ask what happened?” ATN!Belle asked.

“I… I really think it’s something you should find out for yourself. I don’t want to say anything that’ll mess up your world somehow.”

“But if it’s something that’ll eventually happen to me, how can I know when it’s coming?”

“I’m positive you’ll understand what it is when the time comes,” FOF!Belle smiled sadly. “I will tell you this, though; when you’re at your lowest, don’t shove your friends to the side. If you need someone to talk to, or even just hug, go to them. Even such small things will help a lot, I promise you.”

ATN!Belle still looked worried, but didn’t press her counterpart any further.

“I’ll… keep this in mind. Thank you.”

FOF!Belle grinned and winked at her.
