Here, at last, is the big rewrite *of* my Homestuck rewrite doc itself, a list of the changes I would make (with illustrative page links), heavily inspired by the works of @thelifetimechannel, @meraki-sunset, and, to a lesser extent, @friendlybatteringram, @bladekindeyewear, and @act8official. Credits are given for art linked within specifically created for it.

Featuring more God-Tiers, Karkat Doing Things, June Egbert, Ultimate Terezi, Cherub Lore rewrites, Eridan Doing Things, Feferi Doing Things, Nepeta Doing A Few Things And That's Okay, nothing known beyond the final threshold, and more. Approximated to end up at around 8000 pages.

Random rewrite ideas:

-Another reason Sollux likes the number 2 is because being a Doom player, he likes to have a backup plan. He's also OCD with this; regardless of his pessimistic aspect, making 2 plans does put him at ease

-With Sollux's hassling, Karkat ends up creating 2 universes from the frog breeding: Beta and Alpha

-Red Team handles the Beta verse, while Blue team deals with the Alphas; both are trolling the humans at the same time

-Patron Troll/Alpha Kid Team Ups:

1. Equius/Jane

2. Feferi/Roxy

3. Aradia/Dirk

4. Sollux/Jake

Thoughts?

Guessing Eridan and Gamzee will still be antagonists for this part too? I am curious how would something like Aradia and Dirk & Sollux and Jake will go. Will Aradia act more like the version of herself when she was alive or ghost one? I can see Sollux getting irritated by Jake's optimism, but can't help that he at least tries to help cheer up Sollux despite Jake's own situation being hell.

Caliborn should have been transmasc. Like Cherubs shouldn't have had AGABs, Calliope should have decided to be a girl, and Caliborn should have immediately reacted by diving as hard into masculinity as he did out of sheer spite.

tbh i don’t rlly see why so many ppl think the megidos would get along awesomely…… aradia and damara are soo opposed like. aradia, adamant abt not being lord english’s handmaid, considering herself a caretaker of the dreambubbles. damara’s god destroying said dreambubbles. damara wildest fantasy her post-scratch life spent serving lord english as his handmaid. meenah’s ur not like the megido i know and aradia’s i should hope not.

Has anyone ever designed an Ultimate Jade, Jane, or Troll?

Dirk, Dave, and Rose exist. I've seen Ultimate Jake, Roxy, and John (from this person https://www.reddit.com/r/homestuck/s/D4uDZOUfYC), and even an Aradia, who I guess is the one Troll I've seen. Seriously wondering if these are out there, especially the Jade, since I am writing a sort of fanfic involving that.

"Jade would transform in a flash of green light, emerging with her hair regrown longer than ever (plus the streaks of white (and dog tail) fanart occasionally depicts her with), her hood gone in exchange for a witch’s hat (https://www.tumblr.com/meraki-sunset/699653830534643712/happy-halloween-the-witchs), the underside/inside of her skirt, sleeves, and the hat turning green, and her Prospit moon symbol in white in place of her Space symbol; she would have become her Ultimate Self."

We should make our own Homestuck and push it somewhere else!!! Honestly though if you all reimagined the story what major changes would you guys make and what would you keep? This is a question for everyone. A

I would focus more on growth and their power crawl. I would also explore more of lil Hal and Davesprites identities. I love seeing Davesprite as someone who gave up his life completely and Hal desperate to regain control.

For me, definitely have Calliope also play the role of a villainess. It may not be as obvious like how Caliborn does, but her representing the supposed 'good side' of the fandom, it would be interesting to explore and commentate on toxic positivity. It would then have the kids and trolls needing to take them down too. It would be interesting for Davesprite to interact Lil Hal/Auto Responder too. Perhaps that even if Davesprite knew that he is an offshoot of Bro, he still feels sympathy for him despite having some traits that would almost make him exactly like Bro. Maybe it was during that moment where Davesprite fought Jack Noir with Bro, him having helped Davesprite to get away from the guy, that he started to believe that Dirks and Bros could be better or something even more than what is set for them.

One per Aspect save Yaldabaoth, and each from a different religion. I have it written down somewhere...

The Denizens would be changed; there would be 13, one associated with each Aspect+Yaldabaoth, and each would be from a different mythology. We would see John with the browser Hermes (a Greek messenger God with winged sandals allowing flight), Rose with Lakshmi (a Hindu Goddess of fortune and prosperity with a name pertaining to knowledge), Dave with Vulcan (the Roman counterpart of Hephaestus), and Jade with Tiamat (a Mesopotamian Goddess very similar to Echidna, who would take the same appearance).

There would be a bit more emphasis during the exposition around the Denizens on their power over spacetime. In addition, the appearances of all Denizens except Yaldabaoth and Tiamat would be more vaguely humanoid and less vaguely snakelike like many were in Canon, and Grandpa’s trophy would resemble, and be called a minion of, Tiamat. Hermes in particular would have multiple small sets of wings on his browser icon and later glowing design.

Tavros=Hermes,

Sollux=Camazotz (a Mayan death/sacrifice God),

Karkat=Yahata (a Japanese Shinto-Buddhist God of war and protection),

Nepeta=Yue Lao (a Chinese deity of romantic destiny, oddly fitting LOLCAT's pattern of her uniquely getting things with split names),

Kanaya=Tiamat,

Terezi=Odin (Norse chief God of wisdom), who would be seen to have an eyepatch and stereotypical Viking helmet,

Vriska=Lakshmi,

Equius=Kanaloa (Hawaiian squid (ie; Horrorterror-associated, befitting Void) God of the underworld), a shadowy tentacled thing which would, in opposition to the rest, shine no terrible light, but darkness,

Gamzee=Yaldabaoth, who would have a visibly lion-esque head,

Eridan=Gabriel (traditionally a mighty and important Angel of G-d), a white-robed Denizen with human hands holding a downward-pointed sword, wings, the head of a lion, and the horns and visible hooves of a bull,

and Feferi=Osiris (Egyptian chief God of the afterlife, death, life, rebirth, and fertility), who would hold a traditional crook and flail.

the 13th would be the Rage Denizen, Morrigan (an Irish spirit of war and fate)

i like to think that originally the cherubs were an ectobiology combination of karkat, jade, some carapacian and some consort

the typing quirk, the colors, the parallels to rokos basilisk, it all fits so good(i do not hate the actual angle that the story took, but making things up is fun)

i can see that, especially with the consorts and karkat (candy red/lime blood) 🤔

i used to have a headcanon that whichever species won dirk and rosebot's contest in HS^2 would be some sort of proto-cherub

Even if you don't do combos of a classpect with itself, and you did 5 a day every day without breaks, you'd be doing this for over 15 years before done :P

I really do wonder why people can't call their headcanons a headcanon instead of pretending their projections/preferences are textual in any way in the source material?

I seriously don't get trying to rewrite canon when you can just... play around with it!
