(PART 2) "Alan"
Human reader on a space team with larger, scarier, and stronger alien teammates
My writing and framing styles are still changing as I'm very much still new at this. Thank you for y'alls support. <3
I hope you like it @hnowu ! :)
[SFW] [FLUFF] [PLATONIC]
-------------------------------------
Description
Alan, unlike you and Ursha, actually works outside of the loading bay/cargo hold. He was a very tall, lengthy lookin guy. He had quite beautiful blue skin with hints of green and grey stripes, kind of shimmery. He had a very long neck with a roundish head that came to a point at his chin, with very large very deep blue eyes. You could only see his pupils if a light was in his face. You could say he kinda looks like the stereotypical "👽" alien although that may be offensive to say. He had a fish like quality to him, in a good way of course. He was about 7'0 and had fine tapered limbs. His hands were very similar to a humans, but long and thin.
End of description
He worked in the "brain" of the ship as the crew liked to call it. The command center, the helm, etc. he worked towards the back away from the navigational work area, handling hardware or software problems while also looking over radars, level gauges, and some more. Others have this job as well, mainly when he goes to the rest of the ship to check the wellness of the machinery.
You saw him quite a lot when the crane in your department stopped working, which kept you from doing a large portion of your job. It took him about a week to fix, and in that time you two would discuss things like your families, home planet, country and town. He told you that a holiday from his country was going to happen soon, in the next two weeks he believed. Apparently it was centered around a good harvest season for mushrooms. You may have related it to thanksgiving, which he would love to hear about.
He said it all started from a historical event where there was some sick noblewoman, a woman who had done amazing things in their society, but the sickness was said to be incurable. That is unless they found a certain magic mushroom for her to eat. Many people in the city foraged for days, bringing in hundreds of mushrooms to be inspected. Just before she was about to pass, the mushroom was found. She regained her strength and carried on being a pillar of society for many more years. Since then, the people had hosted a mushroom festival every year to remember that great effort, and to celebrate our friends and family with the time we so luckily have with them.
At least, thats what he remembered about it. He explained that he couldn't possibly manage to get back to his family since you all were so far away on a big shipment, but he hoped to video call them. You also discovered he had been the medic previously, before the company hired a new one so they could promote him to the control center where that role was desperately needed.
He was very gentlemanly, and would off his hand when you were getting up and down things. Since he was very much larger than you, you sometimes felt like a kid. But he never teased you about it, unlike some others. The crew from the brain could be a bit snobby. Even towards scary people like Ursha. You were an easy target sadly. There have been times where he's talked to about it, having overheard his crew mates saying not so nice things. He apologized on their behalf stating they really weren't mean and were just a bit insensitive. You assured him it was fine.
You also talked about basic things like your favorite music genre. He said his was jazz and blues, along with a few genres you didn't quite recognize. If you believe he's old fashioned, he'd be more than willing to show you his favorite songs and hopefully change your mind.
All of this came to an end, sadly. The crane was fixed and he'd hardly have time to talk while he was doing his regular checkups on the machines.
He did leave you with one final question though,
"Would you perhaps like to join me when I call my family this weekend? I'm sure they would love to see you and hopefully you'll enjoy the festivities, even through the screen."

Sam, have you talked about where you keep these "in the moment" to do lists? Is this a subset of google Tasks?
Oh! Yes I should have said, it’s just in Tasks, not even any kind of sub-list.
The way I have Tasks set up now is that I have two lists I consult regularly: “Daily” and “Weekend”. If it’s a weekday and I’m working, I have Daily open; if it’s a weekend OR if I am not working (ie, in the evening, on a holiday, etc) I have Weekend open. Some tasks move back and forth between the two, especially now that I work from home, but most live in one place or the other.
The task list is open in Gmail as a sidebar, and my gmail is Always Open, so if I’m at a computer I have easy access, I just click to gmail’s tab and add the items to the list that’s currently open. If I’m not at a computer (for instance, lying in bed thinking about what I need to do between getting up and starting work), I open the Tasks app on my phone and do it there.
For these “in the moment” lists, I just add a huge honking number of items all at once, and they all go to the top of the list because that’s just how Tasks rolls. Once I’ve written down Everything That Needs Doing I will sort it by timing or priority -- like, if I’m about to go to the kitchen, I might enter a random list of “adderall snack mug dishes scissors sharpener” and then order them more appropriately:
-- Mug
-- Adderall
-- Snack
-- Dishes
-- Knife Sharpener
-- Desk Scissors
This tells me that I need to take my mug to the kitchen, take my afternoon meds dose, put a snack in the toaster oven to heat up, do the dishes while it’s heating; at this point I’ll move “snack” to below “dishes” just to make sure I absolutely do not forget there is something heating in the toaster oven once I’m done with the dishes. So now the list reads
-- Dishes
-- Snack
-- Knife Sharpener
-- Desk Scissors
Okay! Dishes done, ate the snack, automatically before I leave the room I check Tasks and check those two off. Right! The knife sharpener! I grab the knife sharpener as I leave. Because I have now attained Knife Sharpener, but I will need to return it to the kitchen, I move Knife Sharpener to below Desk Scissors to remind me that after sharpening the scissors, the sharpener should be put back in the kitchen, NOT just left lying on the desk.
I sharpen the scissors standing in front of where they live, put them back, take the sharpener back to the kitchen, and now I can go back to the “real” to do list items -- which are conveniently directly below all the items I just checked off.
There’s no real need to have a separate list because as soon as I get them all written down imma do them, or if I don’t, I incorporate them into the pre-existing list at the time (or level of importance) they’ll need to be done. So, say I decide I’m going to wait on sharpening scissors until I can locate two other pairs that need it. NOW my list looks like this:
-- Dishes
-- Snack
-- Gift Screen (this is a work item)
-- Find Scissors
-- Knife Sharpener
Having had my snack, I’ll work on my work queue for the afternoon, and then when I’m finished, the list reminds me that I was going to sharpen some scissors. I go on an epic quest, find a pile of scissors, sharpen them, and then put them and the sharpener away.
The thing about Tasks is that it really is the quickest and dirtiest. I mean yes, my entire life is structured around recurring items in the Daily list, but the point of using Tasks is that it is fast to access and easy to use. I can just throw a shitload of keywords into it, drag them into order easily, and check them off as I go. No single other system -- not a notebook or bullet journal, not project management software, not the spreadsheet in which I keep my daily calendar -- is as accessible, fast, or easy as Tasks, which means I’ll actually use it.

DAY 1 REVEALS
Cabin Fever
[David/Patrick - E - 17,880]
When he hears that Twyla's cousin has a place he rents out, David leaps at the chance to have some time on his own away from his sister in the next bed, and his parents in the next room, to think about what he's going to do with the Blouse Barn money. What he isn't expecting is for the guy who delivers firewood to the guests in the cabin to be so ridiculously gorgeous.
He really doesn't need the distraction. Unfortunately, the more he gets to know Patrick, the harder it is to ignore his growing attraction.
*❄️*
(E)Tea for Two
[David/Patrick - M - 9,647]
Extraterrestrial Tea artist David Rose and numbers guy Patrick Brewer know each other only through their fractious emails--until they are assigned to plan the end of year employee party together. Will a partnership so steeped in frustration brew up trouble--or a cup of cheer?
*❄️*
I Love You A Latke
[David/Patrick, Stevie & David, Patrick & Stevie - T - 6,692]
It's David and Patrick's first holiday season as a married couple. The apothecary is busier than ever (read: stressful) and David is missing the other Roses. But Patrick makes everything okay.
*❄️*
A taste of you
[David/Patrick, Stevie & David - T - 4,554]
So here he is, alone. In this stupid Elmdale strip mall, in a space he is certain does not live up to health code standards. He looks around the room and sees mostly couples, which only serves to drive home the fact that he is so, so very single this holiday season.
Or...
David and Patrick meet at random at a holiday cake pop decorating class
*❄️*
Conflict Control Group
[Ronnie & Patrick, Ronnie/Vanessa - T - 4,069]
Ronnie is forced to drive Patrick to Elmdale; it does not go well. Then there’s a snowstorm.
*❄️*
Santa Baby
[David/Patrick - G - 2,800]
Stevie has managed to coerce David to take his favourite small human to the mall for Santa photos. Underneath the beard and red suit, David is mesmerised by Santa's twinkling whiskey eyes.
A very, VERY sweet Christmas meet cute.
*❄️*
Can We Start Again?
[David/Patrick - NR - 2,639]
David's first Christmas with the Brewers, he finds he clashes horribly with one of them. Can they make peace?
The Brewer can be Marcy or Clint, or one of the other Brewers. The reason is author's choice, as silly or serious as you like, but please no homophobia.

[podfic] The Big Chill
[David/Patrick - T - 1:40:34]
David Rose learns to thaw while being chilled.
❄️ A modern-day Ice Age AU. ❄️

Was writing a connor fic, my bad this is late
Oogly Boogly, @outlandishscenarios !! I was your secret Santa all along mwuhahahah
Happy new year, haha (im very sorry)
Beforehand; they are separate. Oh, and you smuggled them in your home.
Walmart was a wonderful place. Especially as the holidays were in full swing, and the formidable climb of high quality clothes, it was a haven of cheap thrills and a retreat for both the poor and the wealthy. A cultural center in the whole of America built on an infrastructure meant to appeal to the primitive brain, complete with just the right setup to convince us into purchasing more products- to the advertisements to persuade our subconscious minds. But all this had led to this one pivotal moment.
You hadn't thought that much of Walmart before the moment you met eyes with the Sun and Moon themed pajamas. You were just going to be in and out that day- collecting some necessities and some not, but something glittery and yellow had caught your eye and something itched inside of you to walk over to it like a magnet. And oh, were you happy about it.
You had bought the massively oversized pajamas with him specifically in mind. Bright yellow and orange in color- a fuzzy mess of sequins you knew would make an absolute mess of your washing machine; but it was far that worth it to watch him bounce from one leg to the other in surprise and elation at the gift. Just to hear the tinkling lilt of grateful happiness spilling from his voice box was a gift enough. You had known him long enough to know the differences in pitch he held in his voice- there was a clear change from real happiness, and the happiness he was programmed to portray.
“Oh, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Y/N!” His long arms cocooned around your midriff tightly, swinging you around in dizzying circles. You wished you could get out the few syllables needed to respond in affirmative- if food didn't threaten to chase your words.
Moon was more moody, to keep it in one word. He enjoyed the things he was related to- the moon and stars and galaxy. He would idly chatter about how he admired the constellations that glittered in the sky, so firmly put in their respective spaces for generations on end, yet strung in one of the most empty and inhabitable places we know.
He enjoyed lounging in a pair of simple gray sweatpants, paired with an untucked and oversized black tee with painted splatters across it with soft airbrushing of cool toned colors to simulate the look of a pulsing galaxy. He didn't accept the gift with the same excitement as Sun did- but instead disappeared behind a corner quietly as Sun was given his comfy clothes, and in a haste put it on, stepping back into the conversation with the clothes situated neatly on his body like nothing happened at all. It was his own way of saying 'Thank you'.
“It’s snowing pretty hard outside.” He remarked, reassuming his seat on the couch bordering the window of your living room, with the utmost casualty. Edgy boy.
It was a goal far beforehand- from the very first time you found out who the daycare attendants really were behind all the paint and glitter glue and angst, to bring as much light to their life as they would allow you. Seeing firsthand how deeply they could not only feel- but scar- made you want to shower them with as much love and compassion as you possibly could.
Naturally, you smuggle two lanky animatronics out of their respective positions, and into your home. You had backup, of course. As long as you did not damage the animatronics or take them permanently, the software and repair manager, (who, frankly, might be some kind of drug dealer) gave you the green light.
Much to your delight, you discovered each one of their interests one by one.
Moon enjoyed scrapbooking. Just doing little things with his hands- gluing bits of paper together and the satisfying intricacies of stationary and ink. He enjoyed finding little pretty things, whether it be petite flowers pressed between the pages of a book for a long while- or the jumbled clippings of magazines he collected here and there. Oddly enough- you hadn't caught him accumulating most of the things he scrapbooked, they just… appeared. But the way his red eyes flickered thoughtfully as he placed pictures and film- slick with glue, carefully onto pages. Almost like he was a surgeon, he treated scrapbooking with frightening accuracy.
Sun, on the other hand, liked plants and flowers. The daycare had no windows, so your little modest house tucked away in a quiet neighborhood was one of the best places he could have been taken. You had purchased a few brightly-colored perennials from the local market earlier on in the year, and helped him plant them in the backyard during the summer.
Summer had since then come and gone, leaving nothing but blankets of snow and shorter days with a reliant chill. It was a wonderful season in terms of snuggling and warm drinks and anything related to affection and warmth, but snowstorms proved to be a great opponent in your quest to cater to your lanky robot boys. Just one nasty storm could knock down your dainty power grid, and ruin all your plans for the day. But Zeus be damned, you'd make the best out of any situation.
Is what you said in your head, but when your light did dim out while your freshly brewed coffee that just began to trickle out of the espresso machine to come to an abrupt halt; you didn't have a damn of what to do.
Zues probably heard you.
A barrage of desperately muffled curses(in order to not trigger sun) jumped freely from your mouth as both the daycare animatronics looked inquisitively at all the lights and lamps now suddenly dark in your living room.
“Hm. But the lights were just all on? Do you also have to shut the lights off to conserve energy?” Sun questioned with a tilt to his head, as you were able to see the red glowing of Moon’s eyes behind him, partially closed and exhausted. He didn't bother to say much, just a low vibrato of a sigh, of irritation or just robot fatigue, you weren't sure.
“Good God! I really can't have anything, can I? Ha, of course the fuckin-”
“Language, sunshine.”
“FREAKING!” Instantaneously, you corrected yourself. It had been so long dealing with these boys that things like Sundrop’s censorship was almost expected every time you let out a swear.
“-Power would go out. How wonderful.” Blindly, you felt yourself tumble through your house to try and find the flashlight you knew you had in a drawer in your credenza, but doing anything frustrated will only turn out to be a hot mess with you.
“Where IS that flashlight?!” Your fingers and arms spread stiffly in front of you to navigate your own house; but you felt a lurch in your stomach as you ankle caught the leg of a couch or a table or a chair- a fall so sudden no noise could escape you- just blown eyes wide in desperation to see and avoid any possible threat. But there was nothing. Just darkness.
But Moon was oh, so familiar with the dark.
He hugged the part of you that was closest to where he was seated, hand snaking around your waist and rib cage, much like the supportive arm a parent would thrust out in case of a sudden brake while driving.
When you look behind you back to where his face is- the half-mast look in his eyes was no longer there. Red LEDs were wide and alert, this time around.
He sighed- but it sounded far more similar to a growl in his voice box “Be careful.” His faceplate was dipped slightly into the crook of your neck- as she had to pull your body towards his slightly heavier body to negate the force of the fall. “And slow down. Stop panicking.” You huffed a laugh, not really humorous at all, and clutched his hand that rested firmly on your stomach.
“Thanks… ‘preciate it, Moonie.”
He only replies with another grunt, Though this one a little softer.
“Jus’ tell me where it's at. I'll get it.”
You felt a tinge flustered, only able to watch his eyes wander down the hallway as you gave vague directions towards where you thought the nearest flashlight was, and when you finally did, his cool metal hand cupped the bottom of yours; his other hand placing the small bit of plastic in your hand.
“M’ sitting back down.” His regards were sent through a slight wave of his hand as he wandered back towards the couch. If he wasn't so close, you'd have been beside yourself in embarrassment.
“Robot boys and their subtle little acts of affection…” You stood and fiddled with the strap attached to the flashlight until the tingling heat subsided from your cheeks.
You flicked the light into the on position, finally lighting ip your carpeted floor. A few ideas of the priorities rooted in your mind as you made your way to the kitchen once again.
Sticking the flashlight in your teeth and rooting through overhead cabinets in your kitchen, you yanked out a coffee percolator from the very back of the shelving. It was heavy and old, something you probably pulled from a thrift or antique shop out of pure curiosity. Couldn't have cost much. Brushing away a mile of dust from it and blindly grabbing a bag of ground coffee- you prepared it as you could faintly remember. Coffee in the little basket-looking thing- water in the bigger container.
Flicking a match to light and twisting the knob to your oven, you lit a front eye on fire. Placing the percolator over the oven, you finally spit the flashlight from in between your teeth out and waited for what seemed like an adequate amount of time for the coffee to accumulate.
"Sunshine?" Slightly high-pitched and kindly, Sun's voice perked up behind you.
"What'cha doing?" Out of the corner of you eye, you dimly saw the outline of a hand rested on the countertop next to your hip. He was right behind you.
"I'm making coffee on the stove since the powers out." You responded simply, placing the light back in your mouth.
"Well, I can do that, sunshine." He tugged lightly at the dangling strap, looking at you with slightly less bright LED eyes as Moons, watching as it fell from your lips.
"How sweet of you!" You traded him an equally soft smile, as his rays spun a little in recognition of the praise.
Your blind grab for mugs resulted in a few mis-matched ones, different in size and color but fine enough for your purposes. The dark and rich liquid spilled from the nozzle into each cup, and you fixed them how you thought they each would like it. Sun’s- milky and overly sweet, closer to creamer than actual coffee you’d assume. And moons, pitch black with only a tad of sugar.
You felt a little bad that they couldn't drink any of it per se, but Sun explained how he liked the way the steam came out of the mug. Moon just enjoyed the feeling of being included. And with his help, you located your hoard of wool blankets in the linen closet to wrap you all in comfortably finding a few scented candles you had never bothered to use and lit them for the dim lighting.
You found a dimpled spot on your couch a little next to Moondrop, and spread the blanket over the length of your arm to cover you both. Sunny boy followed keenly behind, holding his own blanked and finding a nook at the other side of you to properly get comfortable in. All three of you were tied together mostly by one blanket, but with the knots of throws and piled if pillows, one couldn't really tell.
You noticed moon was decently cool to the touch. Like the hand that had caressed you earlier, the metal connecting his limbs were smooth and cold. Not a wet cold that made you shiver, but beneath the heat of the blankets, all you wanted to do was lean closer to him. Like the cooler side of the pillow on a summer night.
But Sundrop was a whole different animal. You thirsted after every drink of warmth he produced. Sun’s fans were like white noise, rested against his chest, a more sustained and softer version of rainfall. Of course he had silicone padding for the safety of the kids- but an extra warm body? Fans whirring inside of him like the gentlest of air conditioners?
You had to fight the sand underneath your eyes to stay in the moment.
But you stayed sandwiched, peppering little kisses on their faceplate every so often, and drawing little reassuring shapes on whatever you could reach with the soft pads of your fingers. Goodness, with the candles and the warmth you were encased in, you weren't sure how long you were going to last. You might as well leave with something, you thought, before you conked out cold on both of them.
Sundrops soft eyes with a graceful light spilling from them.
And Moon with his red, passionate half mast gaze.
"You're both so pretty." You tucked yourself further into the blanket, sleep fogging your brain intensely with the certainty of death.
What was there ever really to worry about?
You fell asleep without an answer.
Ew! I hate it. This is my first time writing fluff, actually haha. Horror and smut are more down my alley, but it was really interesting to try to write something new. Genuinely apologizing to @outlandishsenarios. Happy Christma-Hannu-Kwanza-nothingatall!
Just now kinda realizing I focused on moon alot. Welp! Its here now

Maximizing Holiday Sales: Essential Logistics Strategies for Diwali, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday
Tumblr media
The holiday season brings immense joy for consumers and represents a critical revenue opportunity for businesses. Major shopping events like Diwali, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday create a surge in demand, making effective logistics crucial for success. In the logistics industry, this period highlights the need for reliable, flexible, and scalable solutions to meet rising consumer expectations.
Importance of Diwali, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday for Businesses
Diwali: The Festival of Lights
Diwali is one of the most significant shopping seasons in India and surrounding regions. As consumers prepare for celebrations, demand for gifts, home decor, electronics, and apparel skyrockets. Logistics companies play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and reliable deliveries, helping businesses maintain customer satisfaction during this bustling season.
Black Friday: Kicking Off the Holiday Shopping Season
In Western countries, Black Friday marks the start of the holiday shopping frenzy. With enticing discounts and deals driving high sales volumes, effective logistics management becomes essential. Businesses need speed, accuracy, and agility to ensure products reach customers promptly amidst the surge in demand.
Cyber Monday: The eCommerce Powerhouse
Following Black Friday, Cyber Monday emphasizes eCommerce, intensifying the demand for fast, accurate shipping. With consumers increasingly expecting same-day or next-day delivery, logistics providers must be equipped to support free eCommerce businesses in meeting tight delivery deadlines and fulfilling orders accurately.
Logistics Strategies to Maximize Holiday Sales
1. Prepare Early and Forecast Demand
Early preparation is key. Businesses should collaborate with logistics partners to accurately forecast demand by analyzing past trends and sales data. This proactive approach ensures that the right products are in stock and ready for shipment.
2. Enhance Technology for Real-Time Tracking
Investing in a robust tracking system is vital during peak seasons. Customers expect visibility over their orders, and real-time tracking enhances the customer experience by reducing inquiries and improving delivery efficiency.
3. Offer Speedy and Flexible Delivery Options
Flexible delivery options, such as next-day, same-day, or scheduled deliveries, are essential during the holiday rush. Partnering with a reliable logistics provider enables retailers to cater to customer preferences effectively.
4. Implement Warehouse Optimization
Optimizing warehouse operations is critical for handling increased holiday demand. Streamlining storage, picking, and packing processes can significantly reduce handling time and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
5. Scale Capacity with Seasonal Demand
Logistics companies should have scalable solutions to handle the holiday rush. Options like temporary warehouses, additional delivery personnel, or partnerships with local carriers can enhance capacity during peak periods, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
6. Emphasize Cross-Border Capabilities
With the globalization of shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, businesses need reliable international logistics support. Partnering with logistics companies experienced in cross-border shipping can help expand market reach and ensure timely deliveries to international customers.
7. Ensure Robust Returns Management
An efficient returns process is vital for customer satisfaction. Streamlining reverse logistics can enhance the customer experience, even after the purchase, encouraging future sales.
Operational Tips for Logistics During the Holiday Rush
Inventory Management
Effective inventory management systems are essential for tracking stock levels and preventing overselling. Utilizing inventory software helps maintain accurate records, ensuring product availability and minimizing delays.
Customer Communication
Transparent communication is key during the holiday season. Automated notifications and real-time updates enhance customer trust and satisfaction, allowing logistics providers to manage expectations effectively.
Support Sustainable Practices
Offering eco-friendly solutions, such as sustainable packaging and optimized delivery routes, appeals to environmentally conscious consumers and can set a logistics company apart from competitors.
Boost Customer Service Support
The holiday season sees an increase in customer inquiries. Implementing chatbots or expanding customer service teams can streamline support, ensuring quick resolutions and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Working in the creative industries: is freelancing the road to success?
What does it mean to be a freelancer?
A freelancer is someone who isn’t a part of a company so they don’t earn money like someone employed under a business, they earn money on a per job basis so they only make an earning from short term contracts that they go out to try and find for themselves. The jobs that freelancers get are often short and temporary so they’ll often try to have multiple jobs at once.
What are the key skills required of a freelancer?
Communication is a key skill for freelancing as it is what will help you get in touch with clients and it will help when either you or the client want to share how you think the project could be improved.
Industry knowledge is important for freelancers as they are often working independently and will have little guidance so some industry knowledge could grant the confidence needed to seek out jobs and be able to present yourself in a way to get said jobs.
Being able to market yourself is a key skill as making a strong brand for yourself will draw clients to you and if you can clearly communicate what you’re capable of, clients will appreciate that. Knowledge of social media can help you learn what will bring the most attention towards you and your work as well as benign enticing to companies that seek to improve their social media.
Being able to negotiate is key to a freelancer as it ensures that you and your client can come to an understanding on what expectations there should be on timing, workload, compensation and any other stipulations that could come up.
Project management is vital as freelancers typically would work on multiple projects at once so they’ll need to be able to stay organised, stay proactive and goal oriented so that they could stay on top of when each project is due and how to prioritise them.
What are the benefits and drawbacks of freelancing?
As a freelancer you have the ability to choose your own hours so if you have any other commitments that you need to take care of then you are free to work around them. You can choose where to work from as a freelancer so if you choose to work from home that means money and time that would’ve been spent on a commute can be spent elsewhere.
Unlike in a job that’s attached to a company you get to decide what your own income is, an artist can decide what prices they set their commissions at and how many they want to take on and how often they want to take them on and should they need a sudden influx of money they could sell off designs they have laying about to others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a freelancer you aren’t forced to work with any annoying coworkers because you get to choose who you work with, of course there will be some difficult clients here and there but you’ll find yourself naturally working with/for people you get along with. A freelancer gets to decide what projects they work on so if they don’t like the look of one they can just avoid it and just look for projects they feel passionate about instead.
A freelancer doesn’t receive the benefits that a person working under a company would such as health insurance or paid holiday which means in an emergency freelancers need to have money saved away just in case. Since freelance jobs are short and temporary freelancers have to be always on a job hunt or they could be left without an income for a period of time.
As income is on a per job basis freelancers can have a very irregular income and that may become an issue for them when dealing with regular expenses like rent or software subscriptions that they would then use to make their income. The irregularity of a freelancer's income can’t be helped especially when dealing with slow to pay clients that freelancers then need to chase up after completing a job for them.
When someone becomes a freelancer they also become responsible for everything to do with their work and since there isn’t anyone above them, they have far less pressure on them to get work done which may then lead to slacking off and rush jobs which then gives them a terrible reputation with their client which could spread to other potential clients, hurting at their chances of further work. A freelancer is responsible for seeking out their own jobs and it can be quite competitive to find work so someone like an artist may decide to lower their own commission rates in an effort to get work severely undervaluing themself in the process.

Industry trend|What improvements have been made to smart warehousing on this year’s Double Eleven?
As soon as the National Day holiday ended, major e-commerce platforms started their "promotion engines": Tmall launched the first wave of pre-sale activities on October 14, 10 days earlier than last year; Douyin set October 8 to 17 as the warm-up period for Double Eleven; JD.com was not far behind and launched the pre-order activities for Double Eleven on October 12; Pinduoduo's 10 billion subsidies were also launched in advance.
In this Double Eleven, we saw that large platforms did not fight alone, but began to "help each other". On September 27, Taobao announced that its shopping platform will gradually support the use of WeChat payment. On October 16, JD Logistics fully connected to the Taobao Tmall platform, and platform merchants will be able to choose JD Logistics as a service provider. More and more cooperation is optimizing the user experience of Double Eleven and improving the service efficiency of Double Eleven. On the smart warehousing side, there are also many improvements compared with the past. This article briefly sorts out the applications of this year's Double Eleven from the perspective of smart devices.
The opening of the logistics network
On October 16, JD Logistics and Taotian Group jointly announced their cooperation, which means that JD Logistics will be integrated into the Taobao Tmall platform during the Double Eleven period, adding a new option for platform merchants. The specific additions cover the entire supply chain service from warehouse management to JD Express, express delivery services, and even integrated supply chain solutions.
In recent years, JD Logistics has successfully built a nationwide intelligent warehousing network, currently operating more than 1,600 self-operated warehouses and more than 2,000 cloud warehouse facilities in China, and owns more than 40 advanced logistics centers known as "Asia No. 1". Its integrated supply chain solutions and logistics services have been widely used and recognized in six core industry fields such as fast-moving consumer goods, home appliances and furniture, 3C electronic products, clothing, auto parts and fresh food.
https://s1.iotexpo.com.cn/ue/24/23/6386529184826836882214003.png
Since 2007, JD.com has started to build its own logistics system and has always insisted on making "door-to-door delivery" one of the core service commitments of JD.com Express.
Taking Beijing JD.com Asia No. 1 Warehouse as an example, its warehouse has achieved the innovation of software, hardware, employee operation integration and intelligent logistics model by applying large-scale complete sets of intelligent storage and sorting equipment and intelligent brain-WMS system in various links. The main equipment in the park includes Tianlang, Dilang, Feilang, automatic packaging machine, automatic distribution, automatic cross-belt sorting machine and automatic conveyor belt. In addition, the park also uses 5G and Internet of Things technology to realize the intelligent identification, guidance and scheduling of logistics vehicles, improving production efficiency.
Deppon Express optimizes collection, transfer and delivery, and uses technology to improve time efficiency
During the collection stage, Deppon Express has successfully implemented the "instant collection" service with its direct-operated outlets throughout the country, with a township coverage rate of up to 94%, providing great convenience for consumers. At the same time, by introducing cloud printing technology, users can now easily enjoy the convenient experience of remote ordering, which not only improves the overall service efficiency, but also greatly improves the user experience.
During the transfer process, Deppon Express continues to promote the automation transformation of the station and is the first in the industry to introduce a multi-layer three-dimensional automated sorting system that integrates large and small items. The system combines six-sided scanning technology and RFID channel machines, which can efficiently and accurately handle small items from 0-3kg to 60kg large items, ensuring that the sorting speed of large items is synchronized with small items. This intelligent system realizes the automatic classification and destination allocation of goods through six-sided surround barcode recognition technology, greatly shortening the sorting time and significantly reducing the error rate. After adopting this system, Deppon Express's unloading and sorting efficiency has been significantly improved. The average unloading time has been reduced by more than 30%, and the sorting capacity of its own field sites across the country has jumped to more than one million pieces per hour, with the overall efficiency more than tripling.
https://s1.iotexpo.com.cn/ue/24/23/6386529184806992779759771.png
In the transportation link, Deppon Express not only increased its capacity reserves, but also established a full-process monitoring and early warning mechanism to ensure that it can fully meet the delivery needs of the platform and merchants. At the same time, by integrating transportation resources, Deppon Express has realized "air-rail combined transportation", which can flexibly adjust the space according to actual needs, reduce the transit links, avoid cargo detention, and ensure that all items can be delivered to the destination in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, Deppon Express has also launched an automatic dispatching system to improve the efficiency of drivers and couriers in picking up and delivering goods, and introduced IoT technology to develop an intelligent routing system to achieve the operation of the global optimal route for express delivery, further improving the leanness and timeliness of transportation.
In the delivery stage, Deppon Express has developed a new map platform and applied an intelligent zoning system to reduce the running distance of couriers by optimizing routes. At the same time, Deppon Express also pays attention to timely communication with users and delivers goods according to user requirements. The application of the full-segment code sorting function effectively shortens the time of leaving the warehouse and ensures fast and accurate delivery. For items with high requirements for the shelf life, such as fresh food, Deppon Express provides priority delivery service within two hours, fully meeting the needs of consumers.

I love my job.
I do. I've had it for a bit less than a year; it's possibly the best job I've had in my life. It's the first/only union job I've had in my life.
I have a 7-hour workday (with overtime kicking in immediately after that), paid holidays, paid vacation time, sick leave on top of that.
I have a great team. They're all amazingly competent and supportive. My job instructions include "take your time; recheck the manual, the spreadsheets, the project instructions as often as you need to; several times per job is fine; check all the details again before distribution." They also include "if you can write up better instructions, WE WANT THOSE."
It's doing work I love, using software I'm very familiar with. It's an awesome job.
IT'S A FUCKING JOB AND I HAVE ZERO LOYALTY TO THE COMPANY.
When I shut off my laptop at the end of the day, I do not think about my job again until I'm waking up the next morning. When I leave for vacation, nobody at my job even has a way to get in touch with me.
And, because it's an awesome job, everyone there understands that. At the holiday party - which was also awesome (i came home with an air fryer) - one of the managers said, "We all know this is a lousy place to work and the only thing that makes it okay is that it's better than all the other lousy places to work."
A good job will have a reasonable workload, pleasant co-workers, a comfortable working schedule, room to adapt your responsibilities to your personal style... and it will still be just. a fucking. job.
That you should be willing to leave in heartbeat for a better job.
My job is full of people who've been there for decades. Because nobody's made them a better offer.
If your job does not have those things... then it is not a good job, and you owe it less than zero loyalty. Keep an eye out for better options (and also an eye out for potential lawsuit-worthy activity from your employer).
You do not have to be overworked in a hostile environment that keeps you exhausted and starving to say "hey, it's just a damn job; it's something you do to support the parts of your life that are important to you; it's not supposed to take their place."

Time and Attendance Tracking Software has been the most straightforward method of measuring labor and calculating rewards. In today's world, it is frequently utilized as a source of critical data on how to work with anyone working. On what may be improved as well as which work process trends deserve greater attention. This critical data is collected and analyzed using advanced time tracker technologies.
Use of Time and Attendance Tracking Software
Every business organization has a different perspective on employee management. For others, using this software is for reporting the working hours and to calculate productivity and sales. In every industry, time and attendance tracking are essential. Automating the process can reduce costs and improve operations for all industries. Nowadays more and more employees are working from home, from remote offices, and on the go. So, this method can prove beneficial to a business, but it can also make employee time tracking difficult.
software enables organizations to create comprehensive reports on attendance, absenteeism, overtime, flex time, and holiday leave to understand how employees manage their time.
Advantages of Time and Attendance Software
You must use time and productivity tracking software for the following reasons:
Increase the productivity and securityUtilizing automated software increases employees' productivity and security. As operations are enhanced, and processes are seamless. This results in an extensive improvement of efficiency and convenience.
Gives satisfaction to employeeMaintaining a satisfied workforce begins with scheduling and handling requests for time off. Employee satisfaction can result in a dramatic decrease in employee turnover. With automated systems, you can manage the plans to minimize the effect on your company.
Error ReductionIn addition to reducing the risk of human error, time and attendance software provide a simple, impartial and orderly way to address specific needs without causing misunderstandings.
Comply With the LawCompliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is essential. The act establishes the pay rates for hourly work and overtime.
Additionally, you need to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act to ensure your employees are safe at work. Various other laws regulate workers' compensation laws and employee protection laws.
What makes time and attendance software so important?
Every company has two business fronts: the one that is visible to customers and the one that is visible to employees. Without your workforce, your business cannot be productive or successful. For this reason, you need to have access to your employees' attendance records.
Despite its seeming insignificance, employee attendance has a direct correlation with overhead costs. With high absenteeism, for instance, employers tend to spend more on recruiting and onboarding employees.
Every business must keep track of time and attendance because it empowers decision-making. Forecasting sales, labor demand, and the number of hours given to your workers rely heavily on attendance and time management.
Additionally, if absenteeism is a problem, you could have a turnover issue and staffing problems. Micromanagement may result in poor company culture and low morale among your employees.
That's where your payroll program must be compatible with a time and attendance system. To ensure everyone is agreeable, it is essential to include your HR leaders when evaluating time clocks.
Solutions for today's business environment:
Fully automate a labor-intensive, yet the essential process for everyday operations toGain a competitive edge. You cannot run a business without employees working.Using real-time employee data is crucial for achieving this task. We have gotTime and attendance, payroll, scheduling, and HR management are all under one roof!Individual effects using Time and Attendance Tracking Software
However, simply possessing the data is insufficient. Its thorough examination is required to get the best findings and judgments. The complete picture of our time costs, performance, and workday split is shown by combining our time monitoring data. It's simpler to comprehend significant patterns and see work dynamics by comparing similar data from current and prior eras. This data aids in identifying potential weak areas as well as increasing production and efficiency.
Overcoming procrastination: Being aware of how much time you typically spend on everyday chores and on items that divert your attention away from work may be quite beneficial in eliminating big distractions. When you know how much time you spent on Facebook and YouTube yesterday, it's much simpler to quit checking social media every 10 minutes and viewing amusing videos on the Internet.
Knowing your productivity: When it comes to calculating and analyzing productivity, performance, and work results, timesheet data is the most essential source of data. In the knowledge-based economy, productivity measures are frequently ambiguous, but work time data, as the clearest and most comprehensible component, give information.
Keep track: Tracking work time is an effective technique to boost productivity, particularly for self-employed people who decide what they want to accomplish during the day and have significant procrastination issues. Have you ever wondered what you might do instead of watching TV episodes or videos on YouTube? There are so many of them that we conducted a study on the subject.
Disadvantages of a Time and Attendance Tracking Software
Even while time monitoring data may be quite useful to managers and business owners, some organizations still opt not to include it into their workflow. Some of the reasons they don't keep track of their work hours include:
Inconvenient and time-consuming;Necessitates excessive effort.Takes up too much time and slows the team down;Employees believe they are being micromanaged; In various cases, many neglects to fill out timesheets. To summarise, timekeeping offers vital data to businesses, teams, and people, aids in planning and forecasting, and improves overall work performance. The appropriate organization of the process and ensuring that the employees understand why keeping track of time spent on work is vital for everyone are two critical elements here.
Keep it simple
It's not unusual for time tracking to take a lot of time and effort. Make sure that tracking time does not take up too much time if your goal is to optimize work processes for both individuals and teams.
Choose a product that is simple to use and does not need a lengthy and time-consuming onboarding procedure;Set up a system for recording normal hours, overtime, and absences;Employees should be informed of the procedure. And needs to be documented. To ensure that your staff complete timesheets on time.Add some positive motivation to the time tracking process. The best approach to inspire employees relies on your profession, the culture of your office, and the preferences of your team members.Over time, time tracking has progressed from being a simple and intuitive tool to determine labor quantities to a crucial data source verging on business intelligence. Many specialized solutions are now available to help manage and enhance the time tracking process. They enable the collection of data that is beneficial to all parties involved, including ordinary employees, managers, and customers.
Conclusion
Utilizing time and attendance records for the analysis of overhead costs is never too late. To prepare your business for a new fiscal year, you need to review your productivity. Moreover, it is essential that employees can request time off and sick days through employee attendance software. The supervisors can "punch in" from their smartphones or computers rather than calling in. Automating time off tasks by using the Employee Self-Service module helps ease workloads.
Whether you need help determining what is best for your organization or need time and attendance management software, The Attendance keeper is there to help. Contact us today to learn more!

Mastering Vacation Home Rental Management Strategies
In today’s travel-centric world, vacation home rental management has emerged as a lucrative opportunity for property owners. With the rising demand for vacation rentals, understanding the intricacies of this market is essential for maximizing returns on investment. This article delves into the core aspects of managing a vacation home rental, from effective strategies to the role of vacation rental management companies.
The Growing Appeal of Vacation Home Rentals
The surge in popularity of vacation homes has transformed how travelers experience their holidays. Unlike traditional hotel accommodations, vacation home rentals offer guests the chance to enjoy a more personalized experience, often with more space, amenities, and privacy. This unique appeal has led to an increased interest among property owners looking to capitalize on this trend.
With the right approach, homeowners can turn their properties into sought-after destinations, attracting guests looking for everything from weekend getaways to month-long retreats. The flexibility that these rentals provide—along with the potential for higher income than traditional rentals—makes them an attractive option for many.
Understanding Vacation Home Rental Management
Effective vacation home rental management involves more than just listing a property online. It encompasses various elements that ensure a seamless experience for both property owners and guests. This management process includes marketing the property, handling bookings, maintaining the home, and providing excellent customer service.
One of the first steps in vacation home rental management is establishing a strong online presence. This involves creating attractive listings with high-quality photographs and detailed descriptions that highlight the unique features of the property. Engaging potential guests with compelling visuals and accurate information can significantly impact booking rates.
Once the property is listed, managing inquiries and reservations becomes crucial. Timely responses to guest inquiries can set the tone for a positive rental experience. Moreover, utilizing property management software can streamline these processes, allowing owners to manage bookings, communicate with guests, and handle financial transactions efficiently.
The Importance of Property Maintenance
Regular maintenance is a key component of vacation home rental success. Ensuring the property remains in top condition not only enhances guest satisfaction but also protects the owner’s investment. A well-maintained property is more likely to receive positive reviews, which can drive future bookings.
Scheduling routine inspections and maintenance checks can help identify issues before they become significant problems. This proactive approach can include everything from checking for plumbing leaks to ensuring appliances are in working order. By prioritizing maintenance, property owners can enhance the guest experience and maintain a high occupancy rate.
Leveraging Vacation Rental Management Companies
Navigating the complexities of vacation rental management can be daunting for property owners, especially those new to the industry. This is where vacation rental management companies come into play. These companies specialize in handling all aspects of rental management, from marketing and bookings to maintenance and guest relations.
Partnering with a management company can save property owners time and stress. These professionals have the expertise and resources to market the property effectively, ensuring it reaches a wide audience. They can also handle guest communications, which helps to maintain a high level of service without requiring the owner's constant involvement.
Additionally, vacation rental management companies often have established relationships with local service providers, making maintenance and repairs more efficient. This collaboration can further enhance the guest experience, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly.
Setting Competitive Pricing Strategies
Determining the right pricing strategy is essential for attracting guests while maximizing revenue. Analyzing market trends and competitor pricing can help property owners establish a competitive rate for their vacation home rental.
Dynamic pricing strategies, which adjust rental rates based on demand and seasonality, can also be beneficial. This approach allows owners to capitalize on peak travel times while remaining competitive during slower periods. Utilizing data-driven insights can aid in making informed pricing decisions that enhance profitability.
Prioritizing Guest Experience
Ultimately, the success of avacation home rental hinges on the guest experience. Providing a memorable stay can lead to positive reviews and repeat bookings, which are vital in a competitive market. From the moment guests arrive, they should feel welcomed and cared for.
Offering thoughtful touches, such as a welcome basket, local guidebooks, or personalized recommendations for nearby attractions, can elevate the guest experience. Additionally, ensuring that the property is clean, well-stocked, and comfortable can leave a lasting impression.
Communication plays a crucial role in guest satisfaction. Keeping lines of communication open before, during, and after the stay can foster a sense of trust and transparency. Promptly addressing any concerns or questions can enhance the overall experience and encourage positive reviews.
Conclusion
As the vacation rental market continues to expand, effectivevacation home rental management is more important than ever. By understanding the dynamics of this industry and utilizing the resources available through vacation rental management companies, property owners can successfully navigate the complexities of rental management.
With the right strategies in place, including effective marketing, diligent maintenance, and a focus on guest experience, owners can turn their properties into thriving vacation rentals. This approach not only maximizes profitability but also ensures that guests enjoy a memorable stay that keeps them coming back for more.

I am 21, I turn 22 in less than a month, the day I graduated university I got a call telling me I got my first job as a junior software tester, a role I'm told others are struggling to get a job in, and I took as a second option because I couldn't get into software development quick enough.
I have savings I afforded top surgery at 21, I managed to afford private ADHD care in university and got on hormones privately. My parents paid money to me every month to help me through university. For my entire childhood I never worried about whether we could heat our house, I never had my parents become unemployed. If I wanted to I could afford to move out, my dad doesn't charge me rent and my grandparents don't either. When they die I will inherit the same percentage of their estate as their other sons.
I grew up in a first world country, my grandparents, and great grandparents were middle class and gave me all the resources, and love, they could to help me succeed. They took me on holidays, and to museums, and bought me clothes and computers for school. They allowed me to pursue what I wanted. They allow me to do what I want even if they disagree with me because it's my life.
I am lucky, I admit.
My parents had me at 20, they had only known each other 10 months when I was born. I spent my childhood being bullied, even teachers thought I was weird, I had no friends until high school, people didn't want to be seen with me. I was assessed for ASD three times in primary school but because I was female, shy and got good grades they did nothing about it. All of the schools i went to were failing, my city is poor, it was dead by the time I was born and all it has is a fading history of a once industrial past, there's no jobs here.
My mother had an affair, and left me with my dad who I didn't know well, and I was emotionally abused and neglected through most of my teen years. My father tried to kill himself multiple times, I had my grandparents phone number memorised because he would disappear, I was 10. We had no money, we were left in tens of thousands of pounds of debt, I lived on super noodles and skipped meals because I'd never been taught how to make them.
I was scared to walk around my house, my dad was domestically abused by his wife. I'm still scared to use shared spaces, I still notice the behaviours I inherited to protect myself, even for memories I no longer have. I was passed around houses for years, everyone but my grandparents thought I was weird. My nan is the only reason I am alive.
I saved all of my birthday and Christmas money because my parents left me no savings, I was paid my child maintenance payments from 16-18 because my parents didn't trust each other, but neither wanted me either, I poured it all into savings and cut down on eating.
When I went to university I had to stay in my home city because I would have struggled without family support. Because I didn't want to have to drop out. I was diagnosed with ADHD and suspected autism the day before I turned 20 and I threw all my savings at it because it was the only way I could stop myself dropping out.
I was diagnosed with moderate to severe OCD at 20. I lived in a house that was freezing, I thought my family would kick me out because I was trans. My dad didn't talk to me for a year and wouldn't look at me. My dad told me he hated me as a child for being autistic.
My mother left with my only siblings to the other end of the world and barely contacts me. We will never be close again, and my siblings will barely know me. My brother was almost stabbed a few weeks ago and there's nothing I can do and no way to be there for him.
We are the same person. We will always be the same person.
People think I am naïve because I am young. The man who is training alongside me is 13 years my senior and it's clear he thinks of himself that way. He has laughed at me because my view of the world is too idealistic, that he too has it at his first job, that work is just for money. That my want to learn on the job is dumb, and I am the ideal but not the norm, that companies do not value me because learning is not cohesive with making more money.
There is a belief, that because I am 21, I do not believe how hard the world is, and that is why I can believe that humans want to help others. That I do not understand bills, or wanting to protect others, I am too much of a child, I do not have the experience. I can be positive about the world, idealistic, childish, because I have not yet experienced it to know.
I do not agree, I have watched my life and others collapse around me too many times, my biggest aim in life is to be stable and comfortable, to not end up like my parents, to buy a house because all I want is to feel safe and like I won't be passed onto the next place.
I am not naïve. I am not unrealistic. I am not a child because I sometimes act childish and my want to make the world better, does not equal a lack of acceptance or understanding that the world is hard. I am not a child, because I am autistic or because I stim or because I sometimes need help with stuff others don't. I believe what I do, because the world is hard, I believe it in spite of it, I do not believe it, because I know no better.
I want to hold onto these parts of me, because I love them. Because I think there is power, in this positivity, that I can hold after all of it. At 17 I decided I wanted to live, that I wanted to keep getting up, that I wanted to try to create the life my younger self would have wanted and plan how to get there. If people find it laughable, then they don't know me.

Different Types of Disability Care
If you or someone you know has a disability, there are many ways to get the care they need. This article will explore the different types of disability care available and what to look for when choosing a provider.
Complete all application forms accurately and thoroughly. Errors and incomplete information can lead to the denial of disability benefits.
Personal Budgets
A personal budget is an amount of money allocated to you by your local council as part of the care and support planning process. This is based on the costs of your agreed outcomes stated in your care and support plan.
You may choose to have a managed account held by the local authority or a direct payment into a bank account that you manage yourself. This can be a mixed package where some of the money goes to a care agency and some of it is a direct payment for care services you buy yourself.
Disability rights organizations encourage innovative approaches to communitybased disability services that promote choice, independence and self-sufficiency. These include consumer-run alternatives, peer and self-help programs and independent living centers.
Direct Payments
Direct payments give people with disabilities control over their own care and support. They can be used for things like paying for a personal assistant (PA) to help with day-to-day tasks or activities to reduce loneliness and isolation. They can also be used to pay for breaks for family carers.
Direct payment users are expected to manage their money well by keeping records, including timesheets and receipts. They also have to account for their spending to their local authority.
If their needs change, they can ask for a direct payment review. This may happen if their condition improves temporarily or they go into hospital. Their local trust will need to be satisfied that their needs are still being met. The local authority will check that this is the case by reviewing the evidence they receive.
Respite
Caregiver respite provides a temporary break from the caregiving responsibilities of families caring for a child or adult with a disability home care. It can be for a few hours, a day or even overnight. It can be provided through formal respite services or through informal care from family and friends.
This form of care can be paid for through a personal budget or direct payments.
Some charities provide subsidised respite holidays for families of disabled children. Research found that caregiver satisfaction was increased after a week of respite care. One study followed caregivers who received respite and a week after, administering the Diener Satisfaction with Life Scale. This showed that the type and intensity of activities participated in were similar pre- and post respite. The caregivers also reported feeling less stressed.
Assistive Technology
Assistive technology (AT) consists of devices and services that help people with disabilities perform everyday tasks. These tools may be store bought, modified or even custom made; they can range from a simple communication board to a prosthetic hand. They can also be covered by insurance or accessed through programs that provide them at little or no cost.
AT is defined broadly and includes a wide range of products, including software and hardware tools that help with computer use. These tools fall into general categories and are then broken down into subdivisions, with each category addressing specific impairments or activities. These include: visual (screen readers, voice recognition software, reading assistants), hearing, cognitive and mobility (wheelchairs, walker, canes, braces). For school-age students, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires that schools consider the use of AT in each student's IEP.
In-Home Care
Whether physical or mental, disabilities can make daily life difficult and cause longlasting impairments that may affect a person’s quality of life. For people with disabilities, specialized care can provide much-needed support and help them live independently.
In the past decade, there has been a shift away from institutionalization and toward home and community-based services. This is partially due to patient advocacy and laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and Olmstead v. L.C., and partly because it can be more cost-effective for the government. However, the shift has not been universal. For example, the number of older adults with disabilities receiving formal care increased, while those who received both informal and formal care stayed relatively stable. (110). This trend is likely due to changes in demographics and spending mix.
