A Letter to My Non-Jewish Friends,

Dear Friends,

Please forgive me as I act so boldly as to speak for our collective Jewish community. I am writing in the fear that you may not know what your Jewish friends are currently going through. Surely you have heard the news of violence in Israel and some of you have even been so kind as to express your condolences. In this very lonely time, I cannot thank you enough.

Your Jewish friends and neighbors have spent the weekend in shock, misery and mourning. We are traumatized. Our families are under attack; some are missing and feared dead. Saturday morning began in dread and from there cascaded into frantic WhatsApp texts, panicked calls and constant scrolling through social media. We are not Ok.

If you are accustomed to receiving your news through the heavily sanitized Western media, please know that you are not living in the same world that we currently inhabit. You are not seeing what we are seeing: kidnapped children, naked bodies massacred and dragged through streets, parents murdered in front of their children, the elderly dumped into the back of pickup trucks; pages and pages of images of missing young adults, feared dead or taken hostage in Gaza to be tortured and paraded in the streets. Many young adults were attending a “nature party” music festival, as if Coachella was suddenly infiltrated by dozens of masked gunmen, arriving on machine-gun laden trucks, motorcycles and descending in hang gliders, thirsty for blood. Parents are posting pictures of their children, asking if anyone has seen them to please call them. There are dozens and dozens of such posts. You have not seen the video of the frightened Jewish young boy, mocked, abused and taunted for fun by his terrorist captors. You have not seen people dancing in the streets and handing out candy to celebrate the news of Jewish blood. You missed the Tik Tok videos and live streams of armed gunmen slaughtering parents in front of their children. You don’t know about the houses set afire to burn alive the families huddled within their safe rooms. We have seen all of it. And we know those who filmed it wanted us to see it and shared it with glee. And there is a world in which these videos are distributed in joyful celebration.

Moreover, you might not understand the historical lens with which we receive these images, a history of mutilated Jewish bodies and killing Jews for sport. To say that Saturday was Israel’s Pearl Harbor underestimates the sorrow and rage of the moment. At least the Japanese attackers had the dignity to focus upon military targets. They did not celebrate the animalistic torture of children and families. Candy was not passed out on the streets of Tokyo when the news of dead Americans was received. To see these images of tortured Jews invokes ghosts passed down from our great grandparents and beyond. We bear both the guilt and shame that it has happened again.

Our friends in Israel grieve. I can say without a doubt that there is not a single Jew in Israel who is not connected somehow to someone who was murdered over the weekend. The same goes for many Jews here in the US. Our Israeli contemporaries have been called into reserve duty, to put their life on the line once again. I received a picture from a friend of mine, a 50 year old father of four, with a sheepish look as he once again donned his military fatigues. My nephew is currently sitting on the border, somewhere under a bush, waiting for the enemy to come. Our family is heading into war. We pray for their safe return.

Here in America, your Jewish friends are under siege. Many of us spent the High Holy Days dealing with bomb threats. Did you know that many synagogues had to be evacuated last month? And that this happens to us all the time? Did you know that Anti-Semitic attacks are soaring by double digits each year, with a 36% increase just last year? Do you perform regular bomb sweeps of your preschools? We do. Are you forced to employ professional security teams to protect you around the clock? We do. And each time we do, we need to find the resources or cut from our programming to find the proper funding. Sometimes, it's not enough and we have to call in the police as well. When violence erupts between Russia and Ukraine, neither Russian nor Ukrainian churches must solicit professional protection for fear of attack. But we do. We are threatened by the far left and the far right, those who hearken to Hamas’ call for the destruction of world Jewry and those who march alongside the Proud Boys. We have seen our synagogues attacked and our congregants killed. We do not feel safe.

Today in New York City, those demonstrating in support of Israel were met with a fierce counterprotest of those celebrating Jewish murder. This happened today, in 2023, in our country. Nazi signs were held aloft. Last week, a speaker was invited on to my child’s high school campus, to spout Anti-Semitic tropes of Jews killing Palestinian babies and perpetrating genocide. Many of our political representatives offer infuriating words of moral equivocation in defense of murdering Jews. We hear the whataboutisms and the disinterested shrugs for a region inconveniently stained with blood. But worst of all, so many of our representatives remain utterly silent. Surely a raucous outcry will come when Israel inevitably defends itself. But when Jews are murdered for simply being Jews, and when we American Jews are targeted for the same, the silence is deafening. There are certainly those who have spoken out with empathy and clear denouncement of such cruelty. We are thankful for the light they provide in this time of darkness.

I wish I was in the mood for peace - but I am not. How can one talk peace as children are murdered over Tik Tok? In this moment, we are reminded that unlike our ancestors, we live in a time in which Jews have gained the ability to defend themselves. This power was not given to us but was won through blood. We no longer need to beseech the local feudal lord nor prove our worth to the ruling monarch. We will do it ourselves. On Saturday morning, the UN neatly packed up its tanks and vacated the northern border, lest they come under untidy fire from Hezbollah.

The Jewish state is now beginning to surely, unapologetically defend itself. Vanished is the false security that a racist, ruthless threat can be endured through the occasional skirmish. You cannot make peace with those who distribute candy to children in celebration that yours have been murdered. And now, Israel will act like any other country would if it was invaded by a blood thirsty neighbor and its citizens murdered, tortured, kidnapped and mutilated. It will do whatever it needs to make sure this can never happen again. And when the world inevitably protests the Jewish use of force, we won’t care. We will sadly disappoint those who long for the centuries of meek, defenseless Jews. We are no longer looking for the world’s approval and a condescending pat on the head.

If you want to demonstrate your support, you can simply ask us how we are doing. And if we don’t feel like speaking at the moment, you can sit with us in silence and we will know that you are here. Just know that we are experiencing trauma and that the sights we have witnessed will never be forgotten. We pray that all is done so that such things are never seen again.

This is Shiri Bibas and her children, Ariel (4) and Kfir (9 mos.) from Kibbutz Nir Oz. They were kidnapped Saturday morning along with 100+ Israelis. This is what terrorism looks like. Pray for their safety. Bring them home.

Shiri Silberman-Bibas, 30, was hiding in a safe room with her husband Yarden, their nine-month-old Kfir and three-year-old Ariel when Israel was invaded by the militants on Saturday,” noted the Daily Mail.

“Armed with just a small pistol, Yarden hoped to defend his family and their home in in Kibbutz Nir Oz as villages were raided – in an attack which saw hundreds of Israelis killed and over 100 taken hostage,” it added.

“The father texted relatives ‘I love you all’ as they sheltered, with militants firing semi-automatic weapons outside their window, according to reports. Half an hour later, he ominously wrote ‘they’re coming in’, before communication ceased.”

The family has disappeared and Shiri’s parents, Yosi and Margit Silberman, have also disappeared.

A young Israeli couple was able to hide their ten-month-old twins before Hamas terrorists broke into their home and murdered them, the New York Post reported.

Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky, both 30, were attacked in their home in Kfar Gaza, a kibbutz in southern Israel located roughly three miles east of Gaza, the Post reported, citing the Israeli outlet Walla. The parents reportedly hid the infants in a bomb shelter before being murdered trying to fight off the terrorists.

“Israeli troops rescued the unharmed babies about 14 hours later and handed them to their grandmother,” according to the report.

Israeli Ambassador to Colombia Gali Dagan has hailed the parents as “heroes” who did “everything they could to save their children,” the Daily Mail reported.

“They hid their 10-month-old twin children in the shelter while terrorists infiltrated their home,” Dagan wrote on Twitter. “Itay and Hadar were brutally murdered after bravely fighting the terrorists.”

“The babies were left alone for more than 12 hours until they were rescued. Imagine the horror. Two terrified parents doing everything they can to save their children, who are now orphaned. Blessed be the memory of these heroes,” he continued.

The Palestinian terror group Hamas launched an attack early Saturday on Israel, which has thus far killed more than 900 people and wounded 2,500, according to reports. The attack occurred on the Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret, the last festival of the High Holy Day cycle.

More than 100 Israelis were also kidnapped to Gaza — including women, children, and the elderly, many of whom were abused during their abductions. In response to the attack, the Israeli Airforce has struck at least 1,000 terror targets in Gaza. Israel has also mobilized 300,000 reservists in the past 48 hours as its forces continue strikes against Hamas terror targets in Gaza.

The Palestinian terror attack against Israel has been referred to as the “worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.”

An Israeli family of five, including twin 6-year–old girls and their 4-year-old brother, were killed by Hamas – a short time after their mom messaged friends that they took refuge in a bomb shelter.

Tamar Kedem-Siman Tov and her husband Yonatan (Johnny) rushed into the bunker on Saturday with their daughters Shachar and Arbel and son Omer at their home in Nir Oz, a kibbutz on the outskirts of Gaza.

The 35-year-old woman sent her friends in Sydney, Australia, a WhatsApp message to let them know that they were safe amid rockets fired by the terrorists, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

“Hi guys, we got into the shelter in our house, we’re all going (SIC) okay,” the message sent at 2:45 p.m. local time read, according to the outlet.

But when Tamar stopped responding later, her friends Yishai and Mor Lacob began to panic.

“It started to get really scary. We’re trying to call her, message her. We were trying to speak with people there … people we might know in this area, we were harassing everyone,” Mor told the Morning Herald.

The friends Down Under eventually got the shattering news that the entire family had been wiped out in the deadliest attack on the Jewish state since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

The terrorists had breached the safe room and slaughtered the family in cold blood.

Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip with airstrikes Monday, as it continued its response to a surprise offensive by the Palestinian militant group Hamas that began Saturday morning. Israeli ministers have ordered a “complete siege” of the already blockaded and impoverished Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of food, water and electricity to its roughly two million residents.

The Hamas attack, unprecedented in scale and scope, is the deadliest offensive that Israel has experienced in 50 years.

More than 700 Israelis have been killed in what Hamas is calling Operation Al Aqsa Flood, with at least 560 Palestinians killed in retaliatory Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip. The total number of deaths has surpassed 1,300, including foreign nationals.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Hamas has committed multiple horrific atrocities, including gunning down peaceful Israelis at a dance party, raping and abducting young Israeli women, and beheading Israeli soldiers. Hamas has even desecrated the bodies of their victims.

Now we have confirmation the terrorist group has sunk even lower. i24 news correspondent Nicole Zedek reported that she spoke to Israeli soldiers, and they revealed to her that Hamas terrorists are chopping off the heads of babies and gunning down families in their homes.

Yes, Hamas is literally beheading babies.

Zedek: It’s hard to even explain just the mass casualties that happened right here. Israel military officials say they still don’t have a clear number but I am talking to some of the soldiers and what they witnessed walking through these different houses, these different communities.

Babies, with their heads cut off…families gunned down in their beds. You can see some of these soldiers comforting each other. .. many of them reserves as they left their own families behind not knowing the sheer horror they were about to come to. the maanger pockets the money before proceeding to show eunwoo the video footage from last night. jungkook is alone by the bar drinking his whiskey until sarang approaches him. they have a small conversation before jungkook passes his belongings to sarang who reaches in her purse and—

“rewind that part!! rewind that part!!” eunwoo exclaims to the manager who does as he says. eunwoo watches sarang reach in her purse and put something in jungkook’s drinks after making sure nobody was looking. “holy. fucking. shit. he was right. he was right! she—i gotta call him” eunwoo immediately calls jungkook to tell him the good but not-so good news. his knew all along that he could’ve possibly been drugged and now that they have evidence, he can take this bitch to court, and sue her for drugging and assaulting him. he knows he owes his best friend an apology but he’ll wait until he sees him in person.

“Y-You can’t leave. I-I… deserve this yn.. b-but I can’t live without you” jungkook stutters out as he watches you frantically pack an overnight bag. you decide that remaining silent and not saying anything is much better than getting on your knees with him and crying with him. this man is your world, you live and breathe him but of course he wouldn’t feel that way forever.

she foolishly stayed instead of leaving him to deal with his own problems. she took it all their judgement, their doubt, and disrespect to the face because the only person who would never do that was him. her rock, her world, her everything.

how will she go on without him? how is she going to breathe without him by her side? how will she be happy without those pills? they’re the only things that can make her happy.

“goodbye, jungkook”

He starts to sob uncontrollably when you tell him goodbye, but before you can actually leave him, he crawls on his knees and grabs your legs.

He tightly wraps his arms around them, so you cannot actually walk away from him, he doesn’t know why he’s doing this. He doesn’t deserve you and he knows that you’re not going to stay after what he did to you, but he just cannot imagine his life without you.

You are his life.

Jungkook cries, repeatedly asking you to not leave him.

“P-Please yn.. don’t leave me don’t fucking leave me please…”

His phone rings as you’re about to say something, you struggle against him to let you go, but he won’t.

Jungkook sniffles before taking his phone out of his pocket, using his other hand to keep you in place so you can’t leave.

“Hello?” He speaks into the phone, it’s eunwoo calling him, probably to cuss him out, Jungkook listens to him speak on the other line while you struggle against his tight grip.

“Yn no!” Jungkook says, right into the phone while he hears eunwoo tell him about that night frantically.

And his eyes widen. “WHAT?!!! WHAT? So you SAW IT?? SHE FUCKING DRUGGED ME?!!?”

You go silent as Jungkook exclaims, but all he can register right now is the fact that he was actually drugged that night, by that bitch

“S-Send me the footage immediately!”

Jungkook says and then cuts the call.

“OK you want to leave right? You are free to leave but first I gotta show you something.” He lets go of your legs and gets up, wiping his tears.

You’re confused, but you don’t say anything

Jungkook waits for the notification to come, and after a few minutes, his phone buzzes.

Jungkook opens his WhatsApp and his eyes light up when he sees eunwoo sent him a video.

He opens the video, and begins to watch it. “Look at this yn.” He brings you close by your waist and tells you to focus on the screen.

You’re so confused he can tell but he just wants to see for himself too, that he didn’t cheat on you. He needs that reassurance.

He knew that he could never cheat on you, he loves you so much. Jungkook watches with a lot of focus, you do too.

And tears start coming out of his eyes as he sees the horrifying part where he’s absent and sarang is putting something in his whiskey.

You gasp.

Jungkook closes his eyes and lets out a heartbreaking sob.

“See? Y-You never believed me yn, honestly, I didn’t believe myself too, but my friend believed in me, he fought to know the truth, and he got to the bottom of the truth but you didn’t..” he stops the video.

Dead silence.

“Haha.. This is so tragic. Wow. Now that you know the truth, I NEVER cheated on you and… you are free to leave me now. I won’t stop you.”

He looks straight into your eyes as his hands leave your waist, setting you free, jungkooks gaze hardens.

“Leave me forever, yn. We ARE done.”

Introduction: The Business of Beauty

The truth is, there are so many makeup bloggers and vloggers out there making YouTube videos and makeup tutorials, and it can be hard to know which recommendations to follow and which to ignore. There’s already enough people doing that. And the last thing you probably need is another beauty product in your kit you don’t know how to use. And even if I did, those products would only work for you if we shared the exact same skin type and skin concerns and skin tone.

I am a makeup teacher.

My advice, though generic on a post like this, is applicable to everyone. My ultimate goal as an educator is to bring forward your natural beauty and help you elevate your confidence in your makeup skills. I’ve always said, buying the fanciest, most expensive, most professional or most “buzzed-about” tool will NOT get you better results. Buying the trendiest makeup products will not instantly turn you into a makeup pro or hide all of the “imperfections” you want to hide.
