I have diagnosed Diabetic Neuropathy and because of this I am suffering moderate nerve damage in my feet which has left me disabled. I have trouble walking short and long distances. I am crowdfunding for a motarized wheel chair to empower my mobility and gain some sense of independence.

what about sitting on the couch beside luke and he's grumpy as all hell bc lately he can't get comfortable to fall asleep with his busted shoulder and he cant put his face on your chest like he normally does when he goes to nap ☹️ you're trying to watch whatever comfort movie you've picked and he won't stop muttering to himself about his stupid shoulder and stupid training and how he can't do anything he wanted to this month :/ you pause the movie and tell him to get up. he does and you swing your legs into his spot and he just 🧍‍♂️"are you kicking me out for whining" 🧍‍♂️you say no and tell him to lie down and he goes 😐 "very funny. very mean actually bc you know i can't. i look like an npc sleeping next to you." so you tell him to lie down but the other way so he's slotted in between your legs with his back to your tummy and sling resting on your thigh so as not to put any weight on it, and eventually get him to shimmy down a lil more and really lean into you. hand in his curls, movie back on, you ask him "better?" to hear back the softest, most relieved "yeah" of his life... and it doesn't even take 5 minutes before he falls asleep 🙂‍↕️

or!! he’s been having to sleep in the recliner because it’s safer/more comfy with the sling, but he hates not being able to sleep with you like he’s used to, so he’s been struggling to sleep. you decide one night to have a sleepover with him in the living room, pulling the recliner over next to the couch so you could at least hold his good hand while he sleeps.

he loves the idea, but hates that you’re sleeping on the couch, knowing how you’ve said it’s never a restful sleep, so he keeps trying to talk you out of it, insisting he’ll be fine, but you refuse and tell him to get comfy bc you’re not going anywhere. you finally get him settled and ready to sleep, but he keeps turning over to look at you and ask if you’re fine. you keep telling him to hush and just sleep but he can’t help but hear your sighs of discontent every time you turn to try and make yourself more comfortable.

he finally sits all the way up and refuses to sleep until he knows you’re all snuggled in the bedroom, but you think of another idea. you tell him to lay all the way back in the recliner, earning a skeptical look from the curly headed giant. once he extends the recliner as far as it would go, you crawl over the arm of chair on the side of his un-injured shoulder, situating yourself so the crown of your head is resting in the crook of his neck and your cheek resting on his chest. you bring your legs over to tangle with his and throw the blanket over his arm that snakes around your waist, holding you in place.

“better?” you asked him, looking up at his face

“better,” he told you, nestling his cheek into the top of your head, finally letting himself relax enough to fall asleep
