CBS Ghosts - Pilot - Library Scene - Part 2

Warning: Spoilers may appear.

Going to pause here for a second - Thor always suggests killing them, and the funniest part isn’t that it isn’t right to kill them to Alberta, it’s that Alberta straight up says “We can’t do it - physically”.  Like they have this conversation more than once.  At least here & in Jay’s sister.  

It’s interesting because Thor & Alberta have a rather opposite sort of dynamic.  Like not rivals, but they definitely have this - can’t agree with you dynamic.  And they’re sort of the first pairing to show this dynamic.  Although not the last.

Side note - Hetty / Trevor's faces here are interesting.

Trevor's like 'why would you suggest that', and Hetty's like 'hmmm, perhaps'.

Love Pete assuming that Alberta’s objection is because it’s wrong.  It’s like he doesn’t know her at all. Meanwhile, Alberta's like "We're ghosts, there's nothing we can do."

I like how Trevor's like "you know - that's a good point." But I doubt he really wanted to kill them.

OMG I love that Alberta goes into SPECIFICS of the types of deaths she’s been aware of or a part of, and Trevor and Hetty go from agreeing via nods to “WTF are you talking about?”  And Alberta shrugs and says “you hear things”.

LMAO at Hetty being “cartoon evil” per Sam earlier and then Alberta’s murders are definitely “cartoon evil”- esqe.  

Damn, Alberta.  Also, totally love the moment between Trevor and Alberta here because he doesn’t say anything, but he’s supportive until he questions where she’s getting her ideas.  Like, girl?  What did you do in life - serial killer?

Also, side note about Hetty - do we think that given she knows who murdered Alberta that she doesn't think it's a big deal to hide it since Alberta also seems like a killer? Like it's okay since their families (of the people that she may have put in cement and drop off a bridge) don't know that it's okay that she doesn't know? I mean, probably not, she says 'she heard things' so she probably didn't actually do any of this but I would LOVE to see if she had. It could explain part of way she's a ghost.

OMG - I just realized, she mentions 'dropping someone off a bridge' and Trevor was literally dropped in the lake. She also mentions hiding bodies in the lake when Thor's body appears and that thing with Eric, so I wonder if this was intentional. I wonder if the relationship between Trevor and Alberta is affected by this once he found out about the situation with his body. We know they're close (of course not until later on), but I do wonder if this impacts him.

Anyway, I digress.

I like Pete’s expression, too. He's concerned, he's surprised, and it makes me wonder - he's known Alberta for 40 years and is surprised at the things Alberta got up to in life?  What draws him to Alberta?  Opposites attract? 

I wonder about these things Isaac says a lot.  Do we think he knows he’s into men, but trying to hide it or convince himself otherwise?  Because it seems that way here, but later on, it’s almost like he’s completely unaware and only realizing it in Thorapy.

Also, I love Isaac, but a major beef for me is that no one brings up him objectifying Jay while everyone gives Trevor crap for it whenever he says someone’s hot. Like he backs up and everyone just ignores what just happened.

I love that it’s the “Baby” of the ghosts that comes up with this plan.  It makes sense that he would do it considering he’s watched movies like “ghost busters” and he’s probably been into scary movies in life.  

It’s interesting to me that he reminds them that “we’re ghosts, we can haunt” because I often wonder, especially as we see Trevor interact with the living world if he FORGETS that he’s a ghost at times.  (Like the whole Dating Profile thing).

I also love the support he gets from Alberta and Hetty.  Alberta is nodding along with the idea, while Hetty seems impressed.  I do think that it’s interesting that he’s so excited about having an idea and being taken seriously.

We KNOW from later episodes that he DOESN’T get taken seriously due to his pants issues, so it’s GREAT and exciting for him to be taken seriously to the point where his idea is implemented.  

It shows a lot about the group as well.  

He's so excited that Alberta's Supporting him, Hetty's Impressed, and then that Flower seems to think it's a good idea - until, of course, Flower's like 'naw, I wasn't pay attention'. He deflates slightly.

Okay, I love this right here.  You can see that Sass is being listened to and given that he’s the second oldest ghost, it makes sense.  He’s combating the youngest ghosts’ probably rash plan and being listened to.  It establishes a lot in the dynamics.  We see Isaac as the “commanding officer” but Sass seemingly has more authority just by the way everyone seems to listen to him.  Is it his age as a ghost?  or is it his ability to tell a great story?  Hmm-mm.

I also love that this is the SECOND pairing to establish a rivals/don’t like to agree set up from the pilot - Sass & Trevor.  Trevor comes up with an idea that Sass says feels wrong, and as we learn in LL, Sass DELIBERATELY chooses the OPPOSITE side to Trevor’s whenever he can.  

We see this especially later on in Season 1 where there are SEVERAL episodes of a brotherly dynamic, that I will get into later on, but this is the first instance and it’s in the pilot - so I LOVE it.   I love that it gets established and followed through. I do have to wonder if it’s because they’re different in many ways - Sass is reserved about sex/Trevor is open about it.  Trevor is fun loving, party bro/Sass is the quiet writer.  Ect.  

Also, I wonder how this dynamic happened given that Sass was actually impressed by Trevor knowing his secret all those years.  I want more on these two.

I really wish we got more into the opposite (not close) relationships like Sass/Trevor and Alberta/Thor.  

Sass is the 2nd to get walked through and he gets it twice!

This is so great, we see some interesting reactions to Sass getting walked through.  

A) there’s Isaac protecting himself, hands up and all - how does this do anything? - (and not trying to get Sass out of the way) - that’s another interesting dynamic while 

B) Hetty/Alberta (and Pete?) cringe away and then there’s 

C) Trevor/Flower (and Thor?) are yelling to warn Sass about Jay walking through him again.  

This is interesting to me because they all know how much it SUCKS and HURTS, and yet, those in close proximity to Sass don’t try to save him from it, and it’s two of the younger ghosts trying to warn him.  

Also WTF, when did Sam and Jay leave the scene?  The way the ghosts are standing - this would’ve already happened, no?

Lastly, Rough reactions.  Trevor looks like he’s going to be sick.  Poor Sass.

So, Sass breathing heavy here, and he's like "it's not worth it to be against Trevor at this point" so he says "Let's get rid of them" - it's a quickly turnaround, but I think it comes from realizing that A) there will be a higher chance of it happening again and B) that Trevor's idea might be the best way to get them to leave.

Sass is smart enough to KNOW that Trevor's got the right idea, and to realize that he has to put the good of all over wanting to be opposite to Trevor.

Last I do find the reactions interesting. Hetty's like assuring herself, Pete's got a 'ouch' face, and Isaac is still looking him over like 'you sure you're okay'.

Okay, they’re all pretty excited about Sass agreeing (and as the second oldest ghost if he hadn’t relented, I wonder if they wouldn’t have done it), but I love Trevor’s response the best.  Everyone is like “yay” and there’s Trevor jumping up and down like a puppy excited for a walk.

He and Alberta are having a freaking party in their little corner and I love it!

Also, interesting similar hand gestures with the older ghosts.  

Anyway, this is fun - Puppy Trevor to the rescue with a plan.

Although, I get the Ghosts being like “fuck they have to leave” after the hotel vision that Isaac gives - I have to say, hindsight is 20-20, they would’ve been so bored very quickly & probably WISHED someone lived there, BUT without the haunting, Sam wouldn’t know they exist so would that have been better?  

It’s all very interesting.

First just wanna say I’ve been reading Universal Collision and I am in love with it I can’t wait for the next chapter any ways on to my question. In the rise of the tmnt movie( I hope I’m not spoiling anything for you) Mikey was able to open a portal to get Leo out of the prison dimension and in doing that there was obviously going to be some damage. Now if the rise turtles were to meet the 2012 turtles after the movie and Mikey is wearing bandages around his arms and hands and 2012 Leo notices how Mikey winces in pain a little when he flexes his fingers or how his hands sometimes shake especially when he’s drawing and once he finds out what happened he offers to use the healing hands to heal him. How would Mikey react to that?

Hmmm I think that if 12 Leo had met Rise Mikey after the events of the movie at first he'd probably be very watching Rise Mikey very closely, especially his hands to see if there really is an issue there before he offers helping. Once he sees the tremors in the box turtle's hands he'd feel a pang of sympathy for him, since 12 Leo himself struggles with injuries such as his knee and knows how upsetting and life changing an injury like his and Rise Mikey's could be in the long run.

12 Leo would see Rise Mikey put on a fake smile and pretend that he's okay even though he can see the flashes of pain and sorrow in the youngest turtle's gaze whenever he'd try to draw or do simple tasks. It wouldn't take long for him to finally get the courage to offer his healing hands to Rise Mikey, because even though he's not exactly his little brother, he in many ways kinda is as well. And 12 Leo will always have a soft spot for his baby brother no matter how much time passes. So he'll find a chance to speak to Rise Mikey privately and tell him about his healing hands and caution him that even if he does this there may be a chance that his hands may never fully heal since the healing mantras can only do so much and performing them takes a lot out of 12 Leo (hence another reason he speaks to the box turtle privately about it knowing that if his brothers caught wind of him trying to do it they'd be pretty upset with him). Rise Mikey would listen to him and curiously ask how 12 Leo knows that this might not fully work. He'll get his answer when 12 Leo pats his injured knee and explain why he knew it because he personally tried it on his own injury. The younger Hamato will think about it for a beat but after thinking about the possibility of at least easing his pain and tremors he'll take it.

It'll be a secret between the two of them, of two people who were injured while trying to fight an enemy and protect their loved ones despite the consequences of those actions. Bonded by their love for their brothers and the life changing injuries that they'd be stuck with for the entirety of their lives. But they don't regret it because if they needed to they'd do it again in a heartbeat. They'd have an understanding that only they could have because of these injuries making their friendship even more stronger than it was before.

Short answer: Yes

Long answer:

Karma knew that Gakushuu would be a difficult person to live with and that he was sensitive despite his hard exterior, but that didn’t mean he didn’t get annoyed too sometimes.

That night they were arguing about who knows what, saying things they didn’t mean, when the insults became half truths and eventually full truths that became insults. Karma said something along the lines of “Oh, and it’s not my fault your dad didn’t raise you right but it your fault that you’re becoming exactly like him, don’t ask me why I’ll need therapy more than twice a week after this.”

If it hadn’t already clicked to Gakushuu that they were fighting fighting before then, now he got the message. He ran out of the room without another word and Karma had to pace to cool down. Karma decided to sleep on the couch that night and only realized Shuu went off crying the next morning, when the air was cold and rigid and Shuu had tear stains under his eyes. Karma didn’t say anything though, he didn’t really know how to fix it. They ended up spending that whole day apart and eventually had a long talk.

Gakushuu made Karma cry when he told him they’d probably end up breaking up. Karma was joking about meeting Shuu’s mom and Shuu just laughed saying he didn’t think they’d make it that far. That messed with Karma’s perception of permanence and what he thought they were. He thought they were gonna get married some day and that they were going to live together and... what? He tried to ask Gakushuu why he thought they wouldn’t make it and Shuu seemed unbothered. He said something about how they were incompatible in many ways and how they were both handfuls and how life would get harder and how Karma probably wouldn’t be able to handle all the weird changes in Gakushuu’s life because of how the businesses was booming. They said goodnight after that and Karma found himself outside at 3am taking a walk. He didn’t realize he was crying till he came home and Shuu asked him why he was crying. His first instinct was to say he was doing drugs but that would get them nowhere. Instead he said he didn’t want to talk about it, and they went to bed. He could think about permanence another day. And he did, they talked about both that and their insecurities going forward to try to salvage their relationship. (I can imagine that this is a few years into their relationship.)

11. What causes them to fight?

The lighthearted answer would be: anything and everything. They fight over how many pillows they need but always laugh about it in the end.

Another answer would be: the fact that at the beginning of their relationship they were insecure about themselves. You know you really shouldn’t get into a relationship until you love yourself enough, at least in most cases. But for them I’m guessing that the mutual attraction was enough for them to get together, which isn’t always bad b u t for them they had a lot to unpack. It’s surprising and maybe even kinda toxic that they stayed together after the first part of their relationship but now they’re happy. I can imagine that they’re happier as adults at least, and that they still do fight over small things like the TV volume but those fights don’t even count as fights. It’s just a little conversation to keep them going yknow?

12. Do they have differing political opinions?

Kinda? Gakushuu is a businessman and probably took a course called “creating capitalism” so we can assume he’s pro capitalism, and on the other hand Karma joined the bureaucracy in Japan (and Japan is, if I’m not mistaken, a socialist country) so he’s probably at least pro socialism.

I just want to comment on how this is cool because Gakushuu being pro capitalism is a solo player as the CEO with the most shares of his corporation. Whereas Karma who we assume is pro socialism works as a bureaucrat for the government. Which is cool because capitalism is more about individuals climbing the corporate ladder and whatnot whereas socialism is more of a government intervention thing where the government has control and places limitations. (There’s way more to it but I tried to badly summarize.) So they’re both doing very well in their respective economies. That being said, we could go into the capitalist tendencies in Japan but we won’t! AHEM THE MAIN QUESTION WAS ABOUT POLITICS BUT I WARPED IT SORRY THEYRE PROBABLY BOTH MORE LIBERAL BUT I WONT GO INTO THAT.

Anyways to finish off explaining the “kinda” I answered with, I said kinda because I don’t think they feel strongly enough about their own (preferred) economies to argue about it. Though maybe Karma will complain about some of the disparity in wealth he sees between Gakushuu and others but honestly I don’t see them caring much, since they have the luxury of living in their own bubble of karushuu happy fun. I hope this blurb made sense.

Gakushuu would never give up his ambitions to be with Karma. Sounds sad but after letting go of some of those insecurities that were there at first, he’s found his self worth and won’t give up all his hard work for anyone. Is that selfish? Personally I don’t think so, because it would be selfish for someone to ask him to let go of his dreams for them. Karma would never do that anyway, so. By give up his ambitions for Karma I mean like if Karma were to ask Gakushuu to drop his work or him, he’d be dropping Karma.

Karma would never settle down entirely because Gakushuu asked him to. This is similar to the first one but I don’t think he wants to calm down and live in another tropical country and retire young just because they have enough money you know? Not like Gakushuu would ever ask him to slow down but if he did then Karma would still probably work a few jobs because of how boring life would be without something to do. This is basically like Gakushuu’s but I feel like Karma’s is less intense and he wouldn’t break up with Gakushuu right away because of this.

This is the same as the last one I think. Telling the other to slow down and pick between their passions (for work lmao) or them. Since it’s the same ish for both of them I don’t think there would be that much of an issue though. Maybe if Karma killed Shuu’s cat then that would be a dealbreaker, who knows.

Oh boy. I’ve thought about this for not karushuu things too so here’s my take on this:

Karma would consider Gakushuu as an addition to the toxic people in his life. First his parents, then some of his teachers, and now his first boyfriend. He’d remember the happy moments they had together but quickly try to replace them with the sadder memories. He’d try his best to paint Gakushuu is the worst lighting, he’d villainize (not a word but shh) him so he could go on thinking he didn’t do anything wrong and it was Gakuhsuu’s toxicness that tore them apart.

Gakushuu wouldn’t think of Karma. Not after a bit of time, not because Karma never came to mind again after the breakup, but because any thoughts of Karma would be illegal. Honestly I can see him thinking that his time with Karma was an era of weakness. He can’t go back to that weak state, not even in his memories, so he doesn’t. (Well maybe in the middle of the night some days he does but he’d never admit to that.) I hope my grammar here was bearable lmao.

Season 1 Regan made me realize I had my own daddy issues lmao espically the scene “The thought, you and I are related…KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT.”

Personally I don't see what you see in Geordo. He seems like such a scumbag to me and is the least likable charater in the whole series. He is always trying to get her alone to push her into things of a sexual/ more romantic nature without taking how she really feels into consideration. Like he "really wants her" and thats enough for him without caring what she really wants. Honestly he is the borderline non-con villian in my mind.

I mean, it's okay if you feel like that. To each their own.

Hmmm when I think about Geordo being sexually aggressive towards Katarina, I only really just think of the anime. The manga is a much more moe-fied and toned down version of the novels, and the novels does an okay job at balancing his desires for Katarina in all aspects. I'm not saying he doesn't have that trait in the other two mediums, I just think that they aren't as intense as the anime, so as someone who consumes all three versions I just tilt my head and go "huh." Of course I'm sure there are people who read the manga and novels that still feel uncomfortable about his behavior and that's valid too.

tldr, there is a lot more going on to him than just someone who offers sweet words and questionable invitations to Katarina's ears, this may not be noticeable or acceptable to some people but we get to know more about how he thinks whenever the novels puts us in his point of view. You're free to dislike him as much as you want, but I like him & don't see him as a scumbag; and here's why:

I at least find it okay that Geordo is very serious about his pursuits for her because he is aware that she is dense and will not get it until you spell it in the sky. Everyone is just walking eggshells around Katarina hoping that the girl would just develop feelings for one of them to win the harem olympics. He knows that being dealt with a good card isn't enough, so he's actively taking action in order to win her heart. I mean I don't always agree with his methods either, like the "fait accompli" line or constantly inviting her to his room alone, but really, how much of that is something he really means to do vs how much of that is his excessive flirting + our minds assuming that he really means to claim her in that way?

Lines like that are really popular with japanese fans because it makes Geordo look "sexy" and "forward", which they enjoy in their fictional stories. He knows that his position gives him an advantage so he'll try to play his cards right and use it to increase his chances in victory.

It actually reminds me of a scene from the Hamefura StoryMe game, (don't really know how canon it is but I remember the JP ver. was advertised by @/hamhura) where Geordo indirectly asked Katarina how to woo a girl he really likes, and Katarina thinking he was referring to Maria, gives all the things he usually does in order to win her heart (visit her home, give her gift, dance with her in parties, be really forward about your feelings etc). I'm not saying Katarina approves of the ways Geordo attempts to win her heart, but there's some hilarity in knowing that Geordo already had and is constantly trying all the known ways to win over a girl in the world from a young age, and still has nothing to show for it. Like no awareness, much less any *feelings* lmao. So trying to make it obvious that he is interested in her romantically and sexually seems like the next logical step to him. I mean if you go by Geordo's logic and considering the time period this takes place in, he's pretty confident that he can get Katarina to love him back and they are engaged anyways so in his head he's in safe waters to attempt to make teases about such advancements if it gives him the smallest chance that Katarina would become at least aware of him through it.

Of course I know that stuff like that won't fly here in the real world, but maybe that's why I'm so lenient personally when it comes to his (debatably) sexual teases and advances, because it's a fictional story for a japanese audience. Doesn't mean I would approve any advances like that if it happens to me, it's just that it's hard to take his actions seriously when Katarina or the story doesn't take them seriously. Like, the girl would be pushed down to a bed by RufuSora and gives her a hickey and she still thinks the man is out for her blood.

He wouldn't even be entirely wrong, knowing the identities of the characters who Katarina knows has romantic interest in her in the novels, actions does speak louder than words when it comes to her. Like I said, whether or not Geordo really means what he says when the story teases the readers with sexual implications in his words and action depends on the reader in my opinion. They are there, I wont pretend they don't but I'd argue about the level of intent depending on what scene you're talking about.

The only scenes on the top of my head where he is very abrasive towards Katarina is the "fait accompli" scene, the Book scene form the anime (S1 EP8), saying he wants to lock her in his room (LN6) and the multiple times Geordo had invited her in his room at night alone (LN6 and LN8, i think).

I've already explained why I am okay with both Keith and Geordo's Book scenes from episode 8 of the first season because they are accurate representations of an exaggerated and unhinged versions of their desires towards Katarina so I won't bore you with those details again.

He mentioned in Volume 6 that he wants to lock Katarina in his room forever and keep her light to himself, which alarmed a few people when the book came out, but he said that in a moment where he feels super grateful and loving towards her because she knew how tired he was despite his fake face and without even saying anything. It was a moment where he felt so infatuated towards her that he wished the moment where he gets to rest in her arms would last forever, thus he made such a comment. I make it sound more dramatic than it was in Volume 6, it was just a quick comment honestly lmao.

For people who don't read the novels, that last part looks very sus and raises a few red flags I know, but to be fair we can't definitively say what his intentions are because Katarina never commits to those visits. Katarina has actually become wary of those invitations, because Keith and Mary have warned her that Geordo's intentions are sexual, but I'm not really trusting the word of the two people who are most distrustful and antagonistic to Geordo. They could be right, of course, but who can really say? We assume that they are correct because they care about Katarina and are wary of Geordo, but hamefura('s novels) is full of unreliable narrators anyways, it's not like Keith or Mary would consider the possibility of it being anything else because when it comes to the third prince they always fear the worst case scenario.

If you think about it, Geordo is probably aware that winning her over with a "fait accompli" won't work at all because it'll put him in a position that will make other people push him for the throne (which he doesn't want) or could ruin his reputation in high society if Katarina or her family react to it negatively. I'm not Geordo though, so I can't really say if he even have such fears and doubts in the first place, that's just my assessment based on the obstacles he has. On the outside he is really sure of himself and confident (which he arguably deserves) and on the inside he is very careful and insecure when it comes to Katarina.

Also like, spoilers but for someone who is very forward when it comes to his physical advances, Geordo is super weak when he is in the receiving end of those touches. He gets super embarrassed and easily flustered when its Katarina who is touching him, as if implying that to some extent that he's all just talk lmao.

I don't really agree that Geordo doesn't care about what Katarina feels at all, in fact his inner dilemma in the novels is that he doesn't know what to do because in every step he takes he might do something that could ruin his image in Katarina's eyes, be it pursuing or abandoning the throne or looking like a monster in front of her. He even halts his plans to make advances towards her during the Keith Kidnapping Arc, but threw it away because he knows how much finding Keith means to Katarina. He puts what Katarina want and doesn't want as his priority, so when what she feels is unclear that's when he acts on his own intuition. The only reason Geordo feels so confident to advance towards her sexually is because Katarina never rejected him before (because she doesn't know what they mean, and all of this is for the sake of simply making her aware in the first place)

I'm not trying to make anyone think that one has to read all the books in order to understand him, I think the manga does okay at conveying his feelings too. The anime really prioritizes on making him look "sexy" for the japanese female audience, so anything he does is sprinkled with spice whether we like it or not.

I'm sorry if it seems like I'm overanalyzing all his actions just to justify them, everyone has the right to be uncomfortable with his advances if it seems too much for you. It's just that his actions, while over the top and unnecessary, are done to please the type of audience that hamefura caters to, and it's hard to take him completely seriously when the story doesn't either in my opinion. Doesn't mean he's right or that any of it is okay, but it's his method of trying to put a dent on Katarina's bakashield. When you're in a race versus your friends who Katarina all loves equally, he's gonna use whatever card he can get in order to win.

I like Geordo; I like how much of his feelings for Katarina forces him to reexamine himself and realize that he isn't a perfect prince at all, that he has lots of problems and flaws that he needs to work out in order to be someone worthy of her. I like the way he falls more and more in love with her in every interaction they have because he finally gets to have a genuinely and caring interaction with someone. I like how Geordo wants to do better and be better for Katarina and the people around him, and he wants to be able to thank Katarina directly for that through being able to show his love. I like that despite how much of a chad he acts in front of her, he's a blushing mess at the thought of Katarina returning his feelings. I find it funny when his "sexual advances" fails and gets thwarted because he's trying them on the densest person and most protected lady to ever live. I like how Geordo is so head-over-heals in love with her and how much comfort and warmth she brings to him by simply being her caring and bubbly self.

I guess it's just a matter of different perspectives. If you find him unlikeable or a villain, then you do you. I try to explain why I personally excuse his actions, but I know it wont fly with everyone. We all see each character differently and absorb the material in different ways. In fact it's probably a bad idea for me to defend him with material that isn't the anime nor manga yet lmao. I mean I'm not that much of a fan of Mary anymore, and I'm kinda scared and wary of her, but I know people don't see her the way I do and I'm okay with that.

Maybe its just me, who is the kind of person who just goes with the flow and doesn't think too hard because it's all fiction anyways

It's hard to tell all this from simply watching the anime, so I laid all my feelings down in hopes that someone out there would understand why I like him so much.

You might just be sitting on one of the benches overlooking liyue harbour, petting the stray dogs and cats and feeding them something. And all of a sudden, you would just hear someone saying something poetic out loud—close to you

“The warm gentle breeze

flowing through the bustling streets…”

“Hmmm… what shall the last line be?” I tried writing a haiku and it took too long to think of it forgive my lack of poetic ness

and then your eyes would meet. He would simply give you an eyes closed, small smile and greet you. He would start small talk and the cats and dogs who you were petting/feeding would turn their attention to him. Almost like they were naturally gravitating towards him

Kazuha would kneel down and pet the cat. You can’t help but to think that he has a rather melancholy expression despite he was smiling MY HEART

“Are these your cats?” He would ask, glancing up at you.

And you would say no and explain that they were just strays you were feeding. There would be a rather strange and comfortable silence enveloping the both of you as the cat continues to purr to his touch

And somehow he would be like “is there something troubling you?” It’s weird and you were completely taken off guard

“It’s nothing much but I just have a lot of tests these days—how do you know?”

“The wind told me.” And you would be like “????”

And that’s how i met your mother by completely weirding her out and giving her a weird impression of me - kazuha probably

After that, you would see him often petting the cats and dogs. And you two slowly opened up and became friends somehow. “The world really works in fascinating ways” he would say. There will be times where he isn’t there and that’s just because he’s somewhere around liyue

But like a stray cat he always somehow comes back to you. The cats and dogs have a natural gravitation towards him, but he has some kind of natural gravitation to you. It’s probably because you bring him peace, tranquility, and a sense of freedom—different from the fickle and rough seas and oppressiveness of inazuma

The moment he realizes his feelings for you is when you two are watching the sun set over liyue harbour. Instead of watching the sun and it’s spectacle, at the corner of his eyes, he would be looking at you taking in the view

Now, he won’t deny his feelings. He has some sort of feeling that his feelings for you weren’t strictly platonic . And from there, he would start planning his confession to you

You wouldn’t know he has feelings for you because he hides his emotion extremely well. But if you look closely and pay attention to his face, you would see that the sadness from when you first met him slowly dissipates

he would confess at the place where you met him. You would think it’s weird that he’s calling you out on a different time than usual but you just shrug and go along with it

He’s gonna confess you in a poetic way I just know it. I’m not gonna attempt to write it because I’m gonna 10000% butcher it amd I can’t do that to u anon 💕

When he confessed to you, he would look so calm and collected. But on the inside, his heart is akin to that of the raging seas of Inazuma. He is so nervous and he can only hope for you to say yes to his confession.

And when you say yes, his heart will skip a beat and you will see the softest and most gentle smile as well as a dash of red across his cheeks. He would slowly hold your hand and pull you close and the your foreheads touch. All of his movements are really gentle

This is when you get a feeling of how nervous this boy was. You could feel his heart beating 💓

Whenever you are feeling a negative emotion, he will comfort you. For example, if you’re crying, he would pull you into his chest saying comforting words while kissing your tears away. And he would wait until you finish crying to let all your emotions out.

After you calm down, he will gently ask you what’s wrong and if he gets any indication of you not wanting to tell him, he won’t pry. He will wait patiently until you open up to him

And if you do tell him, he will do his best to find solutions to help you and if it’s because a show was sad he would smile gently and just comfort you. It’s really sweet

He really likes how you live in the moment. His purpose in liyue was all about finding something linked to the past and he loves how he can just turn off that stress when he’s with you and live in the moment with you.

A lot of your dates consists of quietly strolling around the city or countryside hand-in-hand or sitting under a tree in the countryside and resting.

And when you feel sleepy, he would offer you his lap so you could take a nap. And when you’re sleeping, he would look at you with SOOO much adoration while stroking your hair. He loves peaceful moments like those

Gentle reminders. He would remind you if an assignment was to be due or if you needed to do something. He is very much a human reminder lol

It’s ok if you are lazy because most of the times, all Kazuha wants to do is to be with you. So it doesn’t matter to him if you two are just lazing around

He loves hearing you play the ukulele. Especially when you two are out in the countryside of liyue, sitting peacefully under a tree—kazuha would love to hear you play it in those settings. He might even play a duet with you with one of his lead instrument thingy. (It’s a weird combo but it works!)

And cuddles!! I feel like kazuha would love to cuddle in a position where he can hear your heart. It’s a reassurance that yes you are here and this isn’t some kind of dream.

Kazuha will probably know when you are being clumsy. (He says it’s because of the wind) are you mid-air because you tripped over a rock? He’s gonna catch you. Did you accidentally dropped something? Don’t worry he caught it. Are you about to bump into a pole because you weren’t looking? He has a hand on your forehead so you bump your forehead against his hand instead

Kinda the elephant in the room, but kazuha would disappear from time to time in order to find a way to reawaken the empty vision. But don’t worry! He will come back to see you and stay for a few days before heading out. And each time he would comeback, he would give you something from the place he went to

It could be a qingxin flower from high ups in the mountains to silk flowers near Wanshu Inn, or a starconch by the beaches.

And if you want to go with him to explore, he will be a little hesitant because of your clumsy nature, but in the end he will agree. But he just watches out for you more. His senses heightens. He will almost always walk infront of you and something’s hand in hand just to survey the terrain and tell you to watch out over a bumpy path

If you guys encounter treasure hoarders or hilichurls, he will use his vacuum jump “e skill” to make all the enemies come to him and then deal with them swiftly. And if you have a vision, you two will fight side by side but kazuha watches out for you. (Bonus if you could add an pyro, hydro, electro, or cryo effect to his e and q skills

Now there will be a time where Kazuha will go back to Inazuma to deal with stuff there (not gonna elaborate because of spoilers) but he won’t let you go with him. He knows it’s really dangerous and he’s going into it expecting to maybe die.

It’s kinda sad because when he tells you, he doesn’t say “promise” or anything that guarantees his return because he knows there may not be a chance and he doesn’t want you to have hope. He will just reassure and comfort you. In the coming days before he has to leave, you two will be a bit more clingy with each other.

But you don’t have to worry because he comes back all well! And when you two meet again, Beidou just smiles at you two hugging and showing affection.

This boy was probably reading his manga while walking at the same time. And when he turned the corner, he didn’t see you and neither did you see him so your first encounter is literally with a bang

He would rub his head and be like “Oww” but when he saw you, the person he knocked down, Chifuyu would be in frantic mode. He would stand up first and offer you a hand and started to frantically apologize while rubbing the back of his head

Then he saw that you dropped something so he would reach for it but unbeknownst to him, you were also reaching it at the same time LOL AND U TWO BUMP UR HEADS AGAINST EACH OTHER

Chifuyu would immediately straighten up and be like “I’m really sorry!!!!” While being a little red due to embarrassment. And when you look at each other, you two just start to laugh because of the absurdity of the situation. And that is how you two met

Your friendship would start off with small waves, then Chifuyu would talk to you and you two would find out you guys are in the same class. So when tests come around, he would invite you to study at his place and of course baji will be there as well

I feel like this boy believes in love at first sight. So when he saw you interacting and cooing at Peke J all cutely and wholesomely, he doesn’t know but Cupid has hit his heart with an arrow.

It takes baji to be like “Chifuyu?” And smacking him to get him out of his trance. Baji would look at Chifuyu weirdly while Chifuyu stumbles to act normal because now ur looking at him. Lazy dates lazy dates did I mention lazy dates?

Just lounging around in his room, reading manga or watching a show or simply cuddling with each other and basking in each other’s presence

He loves to take naps with you on sleepy days. He would cuddly with you and trace hearts on your backs as you fall asleep. And when you are asleep, he won’t move a single millimeter in fear of waking you. He will be like “I’m as still as a rock. I’m as still as a rock” in his head of course

He doesn’t mind being a big spoon or little spoon. But there are some days where he prefers one over the other. For example, if he is feeling a bit sad or needy, he would want to be the little spoon.

He’s gonna be a bit clingy but if you tell him you want some alone time, he understands! He will just be a little down. And when you finally go to him to be with him, he’s gonna be clingy. If Peke J steals your attention, he will glare at his cat and put him on the bed and take his cat’s precious spit

When you bring your ukulele over, he won’t mind singing his heart out while you play your tune. Though sometimes his singing is a little questionable but it’s ok because u love him. Peke J would also love your ukulele playing too!

Boy if you two went to an amusement park to ride a dollar coaster…. Chifuyu will feign toughness but inside he is lowkey HIGHKEY scared shitless.

“Chifuyu, are you sure you are ok? We don’t have to ride the roller coaster if you are scared.”

But when the roller coaster comes down from it’s highest peak, the person behind him will be like “is it raining?” Because Chifuyu is crying and shouting in fear while you are smiling and enjoying your life

When you two get off the roller coaster, hug him and give him kisses because he’s gonna be so embarrassed. Ur gonna have to comfort this poor boy LOL

But he’s gonna recover and drag you to the Ferris wheel or something less thrilling for his heart. But if you want to go on some thrilling rides, he will summon his courage and go on them with you and the cycle of the roller coaster repeats

He’s gonna hold ur hand in crowded settings so that he doesn’t lose you

And you two are going to be famed the most clumsiest couple by the Guinness world records

Like Chifuyu just sees in his head how heroic he can be if he catches you before you fall. He is just imagining it in his head and hoping it plays out like how it does in shoujo mangas

But does it work? Of course not. As he runs over to catch you, he trips on something himself and you two end up on the ground together PLS U ARE SO CUTE BUT IM SO CONCERNED

And when you drop something? He’s gonna try to catch it but he also misses catching it poor boy

When he finds out you write a diary, he’s gonna be like 💡💡💡”wanna write a shared diary where I get it for one day and you get it for another and we can write about stuff that you wanna tell the other?”

She makes you try her dishes. It sometimes surprises you how unique her dishes could get but because it’s xiangling, it tastes good. (Maybe not the slime dish she makes but that’s ok) and even though she isn’t probably best at savoury dishes, she would make some sweet dishes for you because U like sweets!

She loves your caring and supportive nature because it just encourages her to make better dishes! She relies a lot on your support and vice versa, I feel like she is a great comforters so whenever you are feeling emotional or overwhelmed, she will cook your comfort dish/favourite food and comfort you (and guoba is by your side too!)

I feel like she is somewhat chatty as well. And it’s the kind of chatty that makes you want to join in with her. So chatting with her is always fun and you two could go for hours. However at the same time, she will get that you need some alone time. And all you need to do is tell her and she will understand!

He has two little sisters and more often often or not, one of them is gonna cry so I feel like he is an expert at comforting people. He knows what to say and what to do to make you feel better. He really enjoys hearing you play the ukulele. Sometimes when his sisters are there, you play the ukulele while his sisters sing. It’s so cuteeee. (You can bet that his sisters would request you to play something like baby shark LOL)

And when you are clumsy? And accidentally scrape your knee or elbow? Don’t worry, mitsuya now Carrie’s bandaids with him. A/N: This is for @serowotonin​! [for Luna’s Valentines Day collab] Ik I said I was doing Atsumu bc “I was bored” but I always say “imagine being bored” and truly, I haven’t been bored for so long. I forgot that this was for the collab for a fat moment then when you saw the preview I was like, “Wait- no- it’s a surprise.” 

Premise: You and Atsumu are cleaning out the apartment, when you find a few letters you thought you would never see again… 

“Oi, (y/n), look at what I found,” you heard Atsumu say, leaning over the contents of a drawer he had been sifting through. 

“What?” you walked over to see what he had found. The two of you were cleaning out the apartment, as you were going to be moving out soon. Atsumu had a habit of keeping things that connected him to an important memory of his, unless he wanted to forget it- and this was one of them. You didn’t know he kept them- actually, it did make sense of him to, but you had simply forgotten about it and you somehow expected the same for him. You looked down to see what he had in his hands, and your face literally went emotionless as you saw the letter in his hands. 

You really didn’t mind the letters, for the most part. Actually, they held dear to you. However, that first one… you were grateful for it, but you also remembered just how bad you wanted to buy a grave space and bury it for eternity back then... 

Miya Atsumu.

This was a dare. This is a love letter. For Valentines. Happy valentines day. If you have extra chocolate, send me some.

Atsumu usually threw away the letters he received every Valentines. It wasn’t that he was trying to be rude; it was just that there were too many letters for him to read (and reply to), so he usually just threw them out. Osamu often teased him for this; he boasted that he at least read his letters.

“Oi, ‘Samu, look at this one,” Atsumu called out to his brother. 

“What?” Osamu looked at him, with a face of disbelief. “Yer actually lookin’ at them?”

“Nah, not really, but this one’s hilarious,” Atsumu laughed. 

“Okay, not funny, keep yer lame humor to yourself.”

“(y/n), truth or dare,” (b/f/n) asked. 

You smiled, “Dare.” 

“Hmmm… alright, send a love letter to Miya Atsumu- it has to be at least one line long.”

“I’m- okay then.” 

You brought out a piece of paper, wrote the first things that came to mind, and once you reached one line, you stopped. You folded the paper and grabbed whatever envelope you could find and sealed it with tape. The dare required actually giving the letter, much to your dismay, but it wasn’t like you could back down from a dare. After all, it was (b/f/n), and the nonstop teasing would definitely occur if you failed to complete the dare. 

Dearest (y/n), 

I did in fact receive your rather interesting letter, and I have decided to bring you some chocolate as you wished. I wish you, as well, a very happy valentine’s day this year.

Atsumu was intrigued enough to write a reply; in fact, he decided to write in the most formal way possible. He knew from the letter that you were either a tsundere or someone who was actually dared to do so, and decided that it would be fun entertainment for the both of you. 

When you received the letter, you were surprised to see a reply. It was known he didn’t send out replies, yet you had received one. As you read it, you felt a need to reply; you’d simply feel bad if you didn’t. However, what was there to talk about? How the chocolates were good? He had stuck it on your first period desk, out in the open. And you also sincerely wondered what was with the overly formal tone. You do remember writing the most shitty letter you’ve ever written to him, and that volleyball-obsessed dude just writes something formal to you? Baffles the mind.

Well, then, if he was going to reply, you would too. 

Miya Atsumu,

Thanks for the chocolate- your fans make pretty good chocolate, I have to say. Bet I could make better chocolate than ya, ‘cause all ya focus on is just volleyball. Anyways, what was with the overly formal tone- ya like me or somethin’? Would be funny if ya did and I turned ya down. XD

You never really thought of Miya Atsumu, but this really sparked your interest. It was amusing, his reactions. It was definitely something you didn’t expect- you actually didn’t expect a reply at all. The reply you received was definitely out of the ordinary as well, one you never thought a hotshot volleyball player would write. It seemed he was interested in you in some ways- and you as well.

Pfffft, you think I might like ya? I just thought yer letter was interestin’, that’s all. Ya really think I can’t make chocolate? Bet I could make better chocolate than ya, I’ll show you. You saw that in your shoe locker the next morning- and everyone saw it. You were beginning to regret actually replying to him, but there was no backing out now. (b/f/n) really hit the goal here, for her. People were probably talking about it. It’s always some event that involves romance that catches everyone’s eye. And since it was just after valentine’s, everyone would automatically assume it was a love letter. In reality, it was simply a little bit of playful banter. 

You wondered if people actually knew who it was. You hoped not; it would gather way too much attention for your liking. You’d have an entire fanclub after you, and it was definitely (b/f/n)’s fault that you got into this entire mess. You had absolutely no idea if anyone saw him slip that into your shoe locker, since it had probably been there for a good hour or so before you and most of the other students got there. In any case, there was nothing you could do about people knowing things they already know, so you headed onto class. It was exam week, and you sighed; it would be a long day. 

When you arrived at homeroom, you were not-so-pleasantly surprised with what you found at your desk. You just wanted a quiet day; go to school, take the tests, and get out so you could relax at home. But no, you just had to see this and you knew there was a thing called rumors you had to deal with. Well, you could just be like “whatever” and not care, but you definitely knew who’d be after you, for real. Atsumu’s fanbase was quite scary, and definitely large- a group of people one would regret messing with. 

“Ugh- what am I going to do with this chocolate now, he gave me a lot yesterday…” 

“(y/n)! Oiiii, you got chocolate?! From who from who-”

“(b/f/n), if you say a word, you are going to be dead to me.”

“...” she looked away, but then turned to you again and whispered in your ear. “So, Miya Atsumu, who has a fanbase, likes you.” 

“I’m- no-”

“But what I’m seeing says otherwise?”

“Ugh, you’re coming to my house and you are going to pay for that dare.” 

“Oh ho ho, seems like I started something…” “Bet you did.”

When you finished class, the first thing you did was write the note. You were absolutely paranoid with this mess, and you were going to have Atsumu fix it. Yes, you did technically initiate contact first, but that was (b/f/n)’s fault and this could’ve avoided this if he hadn’t pulled off a whole stunt. 

It was already around 6 when he saw the note. A small smirk filled his expression, he was so sure that he would be able to get a good reaction out of (y/n). It was written on scrap paper, the back of a phys. ed worksheet. You wrote it in a rush, very obviously. That wasn’t really what caught his attention though; he was puzzled as to how he would fix this. Tell his fans to fuck off? Osamu would tease him for eternity.

“Oi, what’cha starin’ at?” he heard Osamu nag. “Mom’s waitin’ for us for dinner.”

“Hey, ‘Samu…  ya know how to fix this?” 

“... ARE YOU AN IDIOT- YOU ARE AN IDIOT.”

“I AM NOT! YOU ARE THE IDIOT HERE!” 

“SAYS THE ONE WHO GOT INTO A MESS LIKE THIS!” 

“Oi, ya shouldn’t be fightin’ at this hour,” the two heard Kita say, as he gave them a certain look. “... ‘m sorry…” the twins apologized.

Even after a fulfilling dinner made by their mother and a nice, hot shower, Atsumu still couldn’t think of a solution. Osamu almost snitched on him, but he decided that there was enough on their mom’s plate of problems at the moment. 

“What if ya said you were dating?” Osamu offered. 

“HAH?! ARE YA INSANE?!” Atsumu yelled at him.

“That would explain what happened at valentine’s.” 

“But there’s nothin’ between us-”

“Yer fanclub wouldn’t really believe anythin’ else.”

“Yeah…”

“... I’m- Is he just going to apologize then run away? Tch.” you sighed. You had the idea that Miya Atsumu was overconfident and carefree, but not to this extent. The least he could do was fix this- he had power over his fandom and what people said about him, unlike you. You had to go, it wasn’t like you really had much of a choice if you wanted to talk it out and fix it. 

“Hey, (y/n) are you and Atsumu dating?” one of your classmates asked, and a bunch of others hovered around the table, waiting to hear a response. (b/f/n) had told you rumors had spread around the entire school; you figured that would’ve happened. Any topic related to the twins spread like wildfire, especially the blonde-haired one. 

“... Can you not try to pry into my private life?” you replied, which you instantly realized was exactly a wrong answer to give. This implied that you were in fact dating Atsumu secretly, and you just made your life 10x worse. You figured you should just tell everyone what had happened, then the blame would be on (b/f/n)- it should preferably be placed on Atsumu, since he started it, really. 

When you met him at 6pm, you expected no contribution from him. Instead, you were met with a solid plan for something you weren’t really happy about, but it seemed the easiest to convince the public of a story they put out. 

“(y/n)... let’s tell them that we’re dating.”

“Hmm… well, they already think that…”

“I’m sorry… I wasn’t thinking…” “It’s fine. All we can do is move forward, I guess.”

“Yeah… ‘Samu gave me this solution; it’s all I have, I’m sorry if it’s-”

“It’s fine. Let’s go through with it. Just protect me from the crazy fangirls; that’s all I want.”

“Ya.” 

“And we’ll need to put together a coherent story; what’s yer number?” 

“Ahaha, seriously, maybe (b/f/n)’s a prophet. She told me that she was aiming for somethin’ to happen between us,” you commented, remembering what happened years and years ago. 

“Ya were just so unnecessarily worried about the fangirls,” Atsumu mentioned. 

“Oi! Yer fangirls were hella scary back then…” 

That night, you stayed up coming up with a story, which ended with the two of you breaking up so that you could go on your separate ways again. However, the story didn’t last too long, as (b/f/n)’s parent’s investigations went a little too far and spread the truth a little too much. (b/f/n) is one thing, but you had almost forgotten her parents were another, seriously. They’d been a little busy over the last few years, thus the lack of investigations of local drama, but they had been doing so for decades, what could you expect from them? 

Nothing was Atsumu’s fault to the fanclub, unless he seriously convinced them that it was. You were guilty until proven innocent. Unbeknownst to you until after, he gave them a whole (to be honest, not-so-great) speech on how he kind of went too far with the joke, but also placed the blame on everyone else for assuming things. People were absolutely ridiculous; their ideas and their insane imagination should learn that the left side of the brain exists too. 

“Funny how we met again after college, after all that time.”

“Ya… a real wonder”

BnHA Chapter 286: VESTIGE ANTICS ARE A GO

Previously on BnHA: Deku was all “what’s the record for most consecutive bone breaks within the span of a single minute” and, without waiting for an answer, proceeded to unleash roughly 17 Smashes onto Tomura. Kacchan was all “THAT DOES IT, I’M TAKING THE REINS OF THIS SHITSHOW” and carried Endeavor and Shouto up to where the action was so Endeavor could hit Tomura with a Prominence Burn. AFO was all “Tomura would you rather burn to death or let me take over your body” and Tomura was all “...” and so AFO TOOK OVER and was all “STABBITY STABBITY” and used his Stabbing Quirk to do some Good Old Fashioned STABBIN’. First he stabbed Endeavor, and then he was all “hee and now I’m gonna stab Deku”, but Kacchan was all “SIR THAT’S MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT RIVAL” and so he rushed on in AND GOT HIMSELF STABBED INSTEAD. And so basically THIS PAST WHOLE WEEK HAS BEEN A RIDE, LET ME TELL YOU.

Today on BnHA: Kacchan is all “sup Deku lemme just downplay how I totally took this fatal blow for you just now” before he dramatically passes out and is caught by Todoroki “BTDUBS I CAN FLY NOW” Shouto, who is also carrying his dad because the kids really are just doing it all, here. AllForRaki Tomura For One is all “HAHA BAKUGOU IS PRETTY DUMB”, at which point Deku just LOSES IT ENTIRELY and ASCENDS INTO A NEW PLANE OF FURY LIKE A LITTLE GREEN RAGE BUDDHA. But then like two seconds later Tomura is all “ANYWAY, SO” and FUCKING TOUCHES DEKU’S FACE, CAUSING THE TWO OF THEM TO ASTROPROJECT INTO THE FREAKY OFA/AFO MINDSCAPE BECAUSE THIS CHAPTER IS BANANAS. Vestige!AFO is all “reports of my demise were greatly exaggerated but aren’t you glad I saved your life though, Tomura”, while Tomura is all “!!” because he’s hopefully starting to get A Clue, and meanwhile Deku just stands there watching all “what the fuck.” The chapter ends with SHIMURA MCFUCKING NANA showing up all, “HI, I HEARD SOME BITCHES WERE TRYING TO HAVE A GIRL POWER ARC, AND THEY DIDN’T INVITE ME.” Go on, Nana. Give ‘em hell.

basically what I’m trying to say is that Deku and Tomura are not actually enemies here, and they never have been. the two of them have a common enemy, and I’m convinced Tomura’s story is about him eventually coming to realize this. and this looks to be the first step towards that, for two reasons. one, because AFO is finally starting to out himself to Tomura as the rat bastard he has always been. and two, because Deku is catching a glimpse of this now for the very first time. up until now he didn’t have a damn clue lol. but this is now something for him to file away in the back of his mind, and perhaps follow up on at a later date, once all of this craziness finally subsides and he has some time to process

Any idea on who Harpocrates is? My head is saying Dream, but my heart is saying Karl. In all seriousness, I feel like, from a doylist perspective, Dream is going to be Harpocrates. I think that's how the narrative is going to play out.

I have no idea, dude, I actually went through the entire whitelist earlier trying to figure it out but I really don’t know what to think. And the fact that his theme is secrets kinda means it could LITERALLY be almost anyone, since he could even be pretending to be something he's not. And even the pronouns could be a trick, might not even be a "he".

That said, I was partly joking about FitMC but honestly that would be so cool. I kinda hope it IS a new member.

I agree that Dream is a very plausible option, unfortunately. But at the same time it would feel so wrong to me. Dream is definitely not an anarchist, or at least he definitely wasn't when he went to prison, and it doesn't really sound like he's become one while in there (although it's not unthinkable, people do become anarchists in prison, it's kind of a thing). And what would have had to have happened off-screen to make Techno and Phil trust him? Because they didn't trust him even when they were working together, what would convince them to change their minds?

I guess one possibility that comes to mind is that Dream might have sent messages to Techno through enderwalk!Ranboo. It's not impossible at least. There isn't really evidence that he has? But it could have happened. And he might have convinced Techno into believing that he was an anarchist now, who knows.

Narratively speaking... I don't actually know if it makes sense to me. Maybe if Dream joined in good faith it could be interesting but it would be a huge shift in his characterisation with no build up... and if he joins to trick and use them, idk, that just sounds repetitive both for him and for Techno. None of this is really speaking to me, I'm gonna be honest. I feel like the more interesting option for the narrative would be that Techno helps Dream break out, fulfilling his favour, and then Techno has to deal with whatever consequences result from Dream getting out.

It WOULD be funny if Techno was making fun of him for not showing up to the first meeting while he was LITERALLY IN PRISON tho. And I guess it might explain their dismissiveness towards the news that Dream beat Tommy to death, although I think that was more of a meta thing than some kind of hint.

thoughts: It’s funny because most of the characters that I really love are just fucking idiots. So stupid. No thoughts head empty. And like at first glance you’d think the same with Hide, he’s got the look of a real dumbass, but he’s actually a really smart person? He just kind of, hides it. He did say he was like allergic to books once (it’s the adhd, king) but that doesn’t change the fact that he emotionally is actually a very intelligent person. It’s something he’s humble about because I don’t believe he really identifies with the intellectual crowd or sees himself as particularly above average, he just finds it easy to understand things. And he doesn’t ever use it for his own advantage even when it would be totally fine to do so, he pretty much always uses it to help other people and I think he believes if he used his strengths to help himself it would be, like, selfish. Which is a problem of his.

gemder n brand of gay: A lot of people in yonder Fandom like to see kaneki as bi and hide as gay but nah fam you’re off. Honestly I do not care about his Date With Rize in the slightest, that man is a homosexual. Hide is the bi one. personality type- ENFP-T: I took the fucking test for him and it was like... so easy. Took me ten minutes. 

basically what this means is it just calls him out as a fucken loud ass sunshine boy who has very many emotion and cares way too much about his friend

biggest strength: he’s so good at helping people?? Like I can honestly say if some random person started rambling about their relationship issues to him I’d give him 10 minutes before he had a perfect solution, he had the person crying and being comforted in just the right way. He’s the perfect medium of confident and caring and he’s not just a fucking ray of sunshine on accident, he’s like, mob psycho 100 style actively working to be nice and compassionate. He’s very aware of how his actions affect people and he always knows just the right thing to say, what to do, when to just let things go or when to say them. And Hide will forgive, literally anything, even if someone does something really shitty to him he’ll realize it’s the product of like, unresolved mental issues or something and seek to fix it instead of cutting the person off. It’s... really good for everyone around him. But well,,, not great for him, see below.

biggest weakness: bitch does nOT leave room for himself. Although he is generally a confident person and isn’t very insecure, he knows he’s giving too much of himself and simply ‘pretend i do not see it but in reality i do’. He’s never put himself first and feels more worthy when he makes someone else happy, and it’s really not that visible but it can take a pretty big toll on him. He’ll feel anger and frustration for his problems but eventually he will end up blaming himself for anything that goes wrong and will just resolve to Try Harder. (which, mood) He does problem solve well and he tries to come up with the best solutions to issues but the fact is he just does not prioritize his own happiness within those solutions. He gives too much and it’s fucking killing him.

what he likes most about himself: Although he does have issues obviously, I don’t see Hide as someone who has particularly low esteem of himself. I think he pretty much thinks he has himself figured out and therefore other people’s problems come first. He generally does, think fondly of himself, because most of the time he can fix people’s problems so he’s yknow, a good person. I think he likes his ability to enjoy life and live in the moment, and he likes his connections and friendships with other people. He values emotional connection and he likes that he can easily create and enjoy good vibes. He loves being the one who everyone just... goes to for a good time.

favorite things: I think I heard somewhere that he enjoys dumb american bands without really understanding what they’re saying which seems very on brand for him, but I’m gonna perscribe him some other stuff too. Obviously he likes bright colors and comic books, and places where he can have fun with other people. He generally likes college, even though it’s like, school, and unlike kaneki he actually had a good childhood and he enjoys the places he spent time and formed good memories, he has Nostalgia TM (see unbelievable by owl city hmmm he vibes to that he was born in 1996 or something right i can’t google things) he also just really likes to just, fix other people’s problems but we’ve covered that. 

what he’s doing right and what he’s doing wrong: Hide is doing his best. He’s no less flawed than any of the other characters in tokyo ghoul, it’s just that his strategies tend to involve 100% less murder. Ok no, let me rephrase that, Hide is flawed, but i meant like emotionally, he’s not a war criminal like everyone else. He may seem at first glance like, just, perfect? Sorry for being a simp lmao but I feel like from the outside he’s just got it all together right? He knows what he’s doing and he’s super nice and helpful and smart and humble and just doesn’t have any visible flaws? He... tends to hide any evidence that he would ever be struggling. And that’s not very sexy of him. He feels it would be a burden on others to show pain or ever say he can’t take something on (if someone asked him to do something he’d do it even if he was already mentally at capacity etc) and that’s something he needs to work on. The good thing is that if they got to a point where after Kaneki’s Character Development they got to just... like, be happy and not be separated and everything Kaneki would be good for him because he compliments that. Hide helps him because he needs a lot of like, mental counseling lmao but now that Kaneki’s gone through a lot of that his eyes have been opened more to the fact that Hide hides his problems from Kaneki so if they could just bE HAPPY this is an issue that could be resolved

insecurities: I think Hide kind of believes he’s not allowed to be sad. Cause it’s like, not his job. He’s the source of happiness for everyone else, supposed to have everything together so he can fix everyone else’s problems. he’s not allowed to be in pain or feel bad for himself even though he knows “Boys Can Cry” it’s like, yes boys can cry, not me tho haha lmao it’s not about his masculinity it’s just he’s like “yeah but kaneki’s had it worse” so like if he finds himself in a bad place, he feels inadequate and like... fundametally broken. and it’s. Like. I felt that but also like king that’s not how it works

goal in life: I think he wouldn’t really be able to answer that question. What the truth would be is that he probably wants to do something grand and important that helps a lot of people and kind of changes the world. But he might not really think of it that way, since he’s usually focused more on smaller more isolated issues and he has no idea what he wants to do as a career. He admires activists and people who put themselves at risk but it probably makes him feel inferior that someone else is Doing Something About This Big Problem and he’s just sitting there riding around on his bisexual bike and being in college. (I’d like to say he’s probably changed majors at least a few times,,, that man was like “oh yeah lmao i’m gonna be a comic book artist” but someone said something about how he’s a good therapist and he’s like “brb kinshift i am now a psychology major” lmao.) (hello i am projecting but i’m right) He sees a tumblr post about some issue somewhere and he hyperfixates on it for days until he sees another post about something worse it’s an issue. But I think what he ended up doing was what he wanted to, even if he never recieved any recognition for it the internal sense that he was doing something Right TM in the eyes of history would probably make him cry

how he was raised: I can’t really say much to this because there’s barely any canon on this and the canon that does exist I have completely ignored other than the fact that he has two dads. Bro tbh? He didn’t need any tragic emo backstory I think he had a great childhood. Honestly he’s probably a rich kid. Not super rich but he’s not struggling man. Not gonna lie to you I think the only reason he went to Kamii was because he wanted to be at the same college as Kaneki who probably got a scholarship. Hide, didn’t. (it’s not like he’s not intelligent but I don’t really think that his grades are his biggest priority, the only time he ever pays attention in class is to give kaneki the answers when he’s gone) 

What irks me about the random lore drop in the last chapter about him having a CCG dad that died or whatever- it kind of ruins the whole point for me. Personally I choose to believe he had nothing whatsoever to do with ghouls or the ccg before all that happened to Kaneki. He probably had correct opinions on them, but only like, in theory, it’s like straight people that are like “yeah ofc gay ppl valid” but they’ve never really had any personal experience with any. So when he gets involved in that- the fact is that the only reason he was... was bc of kaneki. It was never more complicated than that to me. YKNOW, SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST, NICE, OK? 

And I think for me that the fact that he could actively choose to be nice and be aware of all these problems when he’s practically got every advantage in life is a lot more important. He didn’t have to be poor or have a dead parent or have a shitty childhood for him to be really genuinely good. I don’t think he’s ever been bullied or anything, but he can still be aware that it sucks to be bullied. I think he was just... raised right. I think his dads are probably pretty fucking baller for him to be such a bro. They taught him the right shit.

General philosophy: Hide is one of the only people in the series for whom the dynamics of right and wrong are not hard to understand. He’s never been required to pick up a weapon or actually truly fight in the CCG, he’s never been really mean to anyone. Of course I can say he’s probably decked a few ppl that made fun of Kaneki in middle school, but haven’t we all. The thing is that though he’s never suffered at the hands of others, everything that’s hurt him he’s gone in fully consenting to it- he can still understand and forgive what everyone else has done. Like bro he’s the literal only one around who’s not like a literal war criminal, but he’s not going to think he’s better because of it, because he understands that if he had been in their circumstances he couldn’t say how he would have turned out. 

That’s why I think it’s so important that he never really had a bad childhood- he’s not better than them for turning out without any blood on his hands, because he was never required to. And he knows that and he goes through every day with all these people who have and is conscious of it. He can’t ever say he’s incapable of hurting other people, because he would have said that about Kaneki before all of it happened. So he’s quite politically correct compared to Kaneki and the others but he doesn’t see things that way.

relationship bullshit: i mean bro i know this is a serious post about like psychological and emotional things but i felt the need to discuss whY does everyone write hide as a bottom I mean like sure he’d bottom if his partner was a top but this is simply not the case with kaneki look at him. Hide. Service top. I rest my case. The man’s the biggest switch ever but when he’s a top he’s a nice top. I think Kaneki needs that to be perfectly honest. He really likes to take care of people. how kaneki sees him vs how he actually is: One of the biggest problems in kaneki and hide’s relationship is how in the beginning, Kaneki didn’t really understand at all that Hide could be hiding anything from him. Kaneki’s not good at picking up clues like that in general, but the fact that he was hiding so much himself didn’t help at all. Hide gives off the vibe of someone who has no inhibitions and shows every side of himself without hesitation, and Kaneki really does idolize that. He didn’t realize that Hide could possibly be suffering or imperfect compared to his vision. He sees Hide as practically an angel, and that’s exactly how Hide wants Kaneki to see him, because he doesn’t want to burden Kaneki with his own problems since he believes they’re not as important and they would make Kaneki sad. Kaneki knew Hide wasn’t as oblivious as he seemed, but he didn’t really understand what that meant until too late. The good thing about Kaneki’s character development though is that it then helps Kaneki understand that Hide was suffering because of him and he didn’t want Hide to hide it anymore (lmao). If they’d only executed that point well that could have been really good but well that’s what fanfic is for

how he sees kaneki vs how kaneki actually is: This one’s a lot more difficult, because well. Hide’s very good at knowing exactly how people are in their hearts, compared to Kaneki. But there are definitely some things that he’s not super up on. He wasn’t around for a lot of Kaneki’s development, so most of the time I think he still believes Kaneki doesn’t want to see his pain, which is, simply incorrect, Kaneki would obviously not be happy to hear it but it would tear him up inside to realize he’s been oblivious to it the whole time. He’s grown a lot more mature since he spent most of his time with Hide, and I really think Hide could benefit from being able to open up to Kaneki the way he is now. And well. I think his biggest misconception has to be that Kaneki enjoyed women lmao

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 52: Dance Of The Heavens, Phoenixmon (Review)

Thoughts on the fifty-second episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.

So . . . this episode was a major disappointment. XD;

Sora and Taichi fell from the sky and were saved by Junkmon and co. . . . but, realistically, shouldn’t Piyomon just evolve and save them all? orz

The “safety first!” gag got real old, real fast. And they look silly doing that head shake thing. XD; Also, is this series trying to convince kids to work??? It was being pushed so much it really came off like propaganda. XD;

Anyway, Junkmon and his people live on an island with an active volcano, so they have to work to build walls to protect themselves from lava . . . filler plot is filler plot. And maybe would’ve worked better towards the beginning of the series . . . but not at the end. And not for a Mega evolution episode. Sigh.

Piyomon gets hurt while saving Sora from debris . . . and the ensuing drama just felt so forced.

I like how the episode’s motto is “safety first!” - and yet it shows Sora running while carrying steel bars . . . yeah, she’s putting safety first alright! :P

Piyomon wants to help Sora out with work. Sora insists she can do it all by herself, because Piyomon is injured. This is obviously inspired by Sora’s OG drama . . . but an empty version of it. The plot was 100% fabricated and made me get tri. Chapter 4 vibes - where the drama between Sora and Piyomon was also forced. I don’t know why Toei can’t organically build up drama for these two . . .

Piyomon: “I hate you Sora!” Same, Piyomon, same. XD; OK, I don’t - but I also don’t really care about reboot Sora that much. And it pains me, because she was my second favourite character from the OG. But if reboot Sora didn’t have Sora’s name . . . I really would just write her character off completely. T_T

When the large volcano eruption begins, Sora still wants to build up the walls, and Junkmon has to explain to her that it’s just to buy time for everyone to run . . . I facepalmed so hard. Just how daft is reboot Sora? lmao. XD; (OK, OK, she’s eleven . . . but still!? Maybe I’m just getting old and the generation gap is too wide for me to understand the intelligence level of kids. XD;)

It has to be said: Sora is strong AF, lmao. I’m still amazed at the sheer strength of this girl. She should get into wrestling or some form of professional contact sports. XD;

Piyomon and Sora abruptly forgive each other for their forced drama and trust each other, blah blah . . . and it’s still so fabricated, but at least both Sora and Piyomon get to show actual emotion in the series for once, I suppose? This is just about the only positive in the entire episode. XD;

Oh, and of course, Phoenixmon happening!!! I like her design so I’m glad the reboot gave us her Mega evolution. But the reason for it . . . is because Sora and Piyomon “trust” and love each other (did they not before???) and needed to protect other Digimon from . . . an active volcano . . . instead of an evil Digimon. Hmmm. Hmmmmm.

Well, Phoenixmon’s Mega evolution sequence has nothing on Taichi and Yamato’s . . . which is to be expected of preferential treatment Toei. But still - let’s riot! XD;

At first I thought it was lame that Phoenixmon happened just because of an active volcano . . . but, I guess, it’s fine? XD; It was something different and refreshing from usual . . . so points for creativity? And Phoenixmon did look majestic . . . for a bird. :D I like her a lot!

Junkmon conveniently wants to visit the hot springs - and Taichi decides to tag along. LMAO. This series, I swear. There was NO POINT for Taichi to be in this episode - other than to convince kids to watch it because he’s the main protag. I feel sorry for the new generation of Digimon viewers who have actually been suckered into liking such a bland protag. ;_;

Overall, I was really disappointed in this episode. Maybe it’s because Sora is one of my absolute favourites in the OG, and to see Toei give her nothing but fabricated drama (a la tri.) makes me roll my eyes so hard. This was at least just as bad as Yamato’s Mega evolution episode to me . . . orz (How will the others stack up?)

Sora’s episode 40 is going to remain her best episode in the reboot. And that’s sad. :c Why is Toei closing out the series with filler Mega episodes? (COVID.) I’m genuinely appalled at where this series went. It started with such potential! :c

Next week: NO JOU MEGA EVOLUTION? :o

I guess even Toei has to pad out the filler Mega episodes with regular filler episodes . . . lol. orz

@natsuonii - touya-nii. i can’t really explain it beyond the fact that i just think they’d be so cute together. touya-nii definitely gives off guard dog vibes when it comes to sophie. protective, possessive, a bit too into marking her up but its okay bc he loves to have her return the favor.
