imagine a world where the heroes of olympus series was one big crossover. a world where we meet an eleven year old boy named jason, no last name because it reminds him of his mother — a drunk who literally threw him to the wolves as a toddler. jason, who's earliest memory is chewing on a stapler and his older sister tending to the wound on his bottom lip — but he hasn't seen or heard from her since they were separated years ago. jason, who grew up reaching for the sky like a purpose, desperate for a chance to prove himself. jason, who fought to save the world at fifteen years old. and jason, who finds himself in the grand canyon four months later with no memory of who he is or where he came from, feet away from some frantic sixteen year old girl in search of some dude named percy jackson. imagine what this could have been.
#one of the most frequent critiques i see about the lost hero is how the audience was introduced to character who's history was unknown#and i understand respect the approach rick chose#i mean#introducing the audience to a character they intially disregarded in search of a hero who couldn't be more different and respected and love#tricking the audience into treating him the way everyone else in his life must have (not that he remembers)#and for the audience to realize the severity of their ignorance in the wake his death#is such an amazing and heartbreaking payoff and i genuinely respect#but i think it would have been fun to grow with jason the same way we did percy#have a jason-centered seties based around roman mythology#running the same release time and story progression of percy jackson and the olympians#and then opening the lost hero for the first confused at why jason is without his friends from camp#then seeing annabeth's name and freaking out bc this will be the most epic crossover#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo text post#pjo#pjo headcanon#hoo text posts#hoo#hoo headcanon#chb campers#cj residents

Cyrus and Aella Headcanons
❝commission: headcannons about the twins (Cyrus and Aella). — requested by 💻 anon.
❝ 📜 — lady l: I spent a few days thinking about how to create a different but complementary personality for the twins and this came out, I think it turned out good. They're my babies, my first OC's to be honest, and I need to write more for them. I hope you like it and forgive me if there are any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: none.
❝📜word count: 1,208.
Cyrus and Aella have complementary personalities. Cyrus is calmer and more reflective, while Aella is energetic and adventurous.
From a young age, Cyrus has always demonstrated a serene and contemplative nature. He is a deep thinker, often lost in his own thoughts. He prefers to analyze situations before acting, evaluating all possible consequences.
His ability to formulate complex strategies is unparalleled. Cyrus loves studying ancient texts on military tactics and philosophy, drawing inspiration from great thinkers like Aristotle, who was also a mentor to his father.
Aella, on the other hand, is a true free spirit. Since she was a child, she was known for her tireless energy and thirst for adventure. Always looking for new experiences, she loves exploring unknown territories and engaging in challenging activities.
Aella has a natural talent for leadership. Her courage and determination inspire those around her, and she quickly gains the loyalty of her followers. On the battlefield, her presence is motivating, and her strategy skills are admirable. If she could (and perhaps can) carry a sword, she will.
Unlike Cyrus, Aella often acts on intuition. She trusts her instincts and is willing to take risks that others would avoid. This approach, while risky, often leads to surprisingly positive results.
Aella has a strong sense of justice and is a fervent defender of the oppressed. She does not hesitate to fight for causes she believes are just, even if it means confronting powerful adversaries and defying the laws that prohibit her from doing what she wants just because she is a woman.
The combination of her personalities creates a perfect balance. While Cyrus plans and calculates every move with precision, Aella is ready to act quickly and face any challenge with courage and vigor. If they decided to rule together, it would be almost impossible to stop them.
In crises, Cyrus can calm and guide Aella, while she can encourage him to step out of his comfort zone and make bolder decisions. They complement each other.
Communication between the twins is almost telepathic. They understand each other with a simple exchange of glances, allowing for fluid and efficient collaboration, whether in strategic discussions or battles.
This complementarity makes them unbeatable, whether in the administration of the empire, in leading armies, or in diplomacy. They support each other, using their strengths to cover each other's weaknesses.
Since they were little, Cyrus and Aella have developed a secret language that they use to communicate without others understanding. This makes them even more united and inseparable.
Language includes a combination of hand gestures, facial expressions, small sounds, and even visual cues. Each gesture or sound has a specific meaning, allowing for quick and effective communication.
In situations where they need to communicate without being overheard by others, such as in strategic meetings or on the battlefield or just to hide secrets from their parents, secret language is essential. It allows them to share critical information with others.
Alexander's passion for exploring and conquering unknown lands is inherited by Aella, who frequently ventures beyond the borders of the empire, always accompanied by Cyrus, who prefers to explore through study and diplomacy.
From an early age, Alexander the Great recognized the extraordinary potential of his twin children, Cyrus and Aella. He made sure that they both received exhaustive training in combat and strategy, aware that their skills would be essential to the continuity and expansion of the empire.
In addition to practical training, Cyrus dedicated himself intensely to theoretical studies. He read the texts of Aristotle, Socrates and other philosophers and historians, seeking to understand the dynamics of power, war and politics. His evenings were often spent in the library, where he studied maps and developed new strategies. Cyrus has developed a close bond with his uncle Hephaestion, mainly because they look so much alike.
Cyrus saw Hephaestion as a trusted figure to whom he could turn for advice and emotional support. Hephaestion, in turn, saw in Cyrus a reflection of himself and was dedicated to guiding him in the best way possible. Hephaestion helped Cyrus hone his diplomatic skills, teaching him to negotiate and mediate conflicts with the same effectiveness he demonstrated on the battlefield.
Aella, from a young age, showed an innate talent for combat, despite not actually fighting because she was not allowed to. Her training included a wide range of fighting techniques, from wielding swords and spears to hand-to-hand combat. She trained daily with the best warriors in the army, improving her strength, agility and precision. Due to her aptitude for fighting, although it was not common at the time, Aella ended up becoming quite close to Cleitus, who was mainly the one who taught her.
Cleitus, known for his skill and bravery on the battlefield, dedicated himself to training Aella in advanced hand-to-hand combat techniques. Under his guidance, Aella perfected her use of swords, spears and unarmed combat. Cleitus also focused on developing Aella's stamina and agility, subjecting her to rigorous exercises that made her not only strong but also quick and flexible. This prepared her to face opponents of different sizes and fighting styles.
Aella has a strong connection with nature and animals. She often spends her time in forests and mountains, while Cyrus prefers gardens and libraries. However, they both share a deep love for the natural world.
(Y/N), Alexandre's wife and mother of the twins ensures that her children receive a complete education, with tutors from different areas of knowledge. Cyrus shows great interest in philosophy and history, while Aella is interested in poetry and music.
Cyrus devotes hours to the study of great philosophers, including Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. He enjoys debates about ethics, politics and the nature of knowledge, often discussing these ideas with his tutors and applying them to his life and strategic decisions.
He analyzes the strategies of historical leaders, learning from their successes and failures. This enriches his own strategic capabilities, helping him develop innovative tactics for military campaigns.
Aella studies the works of great Greek poets, such as Homer and Hesiod, as well as the lyrics of Sappho and Pindar. She writes her own verses, expressing her emotions and experiences through poetry. There is no doubt that she inherited her father's love of reading, especially the Iliad.
Aella learns to play several instruments, such as the lyre and the flute and receives training in singing. Her tutors teach her about music theory, composition, and the Greek musical tradition.
The twins feel an innate curiosity about their mother's heritage and if given the opportunity, they will visit their mother's time to learn about her origins and cultures other than Greek.
Over time, Alexandre begins to trust his children's advice more and more. Cyrus becomes a trusted strategist, while Aella helps inspire and lead the troops, earning the soldiers' respect, just as her mother did years ago.
Despite the fierce love and loyalty that exists between the twins, there is a healthy rivalry between Cyrus and Aella, especially during training and games. This rivalry encourages them to constantly surpass each other.
After Alexander's death, Cyrus and Aella assume central roles in preserving and expanding the empire. Cyrus focuses on strengthening diplomatic alliances, while Aella leads military campaigns, both keeping their father's legacy alive.

I always assumed the deal with Count Gora hating Dooku for being Force sensitive went back to the ancient Sith occupation of Serenno, his own house being tainted by association with the very people his family allegedly defeated.
But I was rereading the cursed book and the opening scene where Jenza is robbed, she's specifically going on about how she doesn't care about the money, but she really needs back this special crystal that belonged to her grandmother? And her mother is gonna kill her if she loses it?
How much funnier is it if Gora hated Force sensitives because of a very annoying ex-Jedi mother-in-law??
#it doesn't seem like Dooku ever sees the crystal to tell us if it is a kyber crystal or not#he's busy having the universal star wars experience of being attracted to someone he doesn't know he's related to#and of course it could be a bled crystal with the Sith history who knows#there are also non-kyber crystals in the book like the ill-fated one Sifo-Dyas tries to give Dooku before immediately vision smashing it#and arguably the whole scene is made up since Dooku is the narrator and isn't physically there for that part#so maybe it's not significant but whatever#fun headcanon#dooku#jenza serenno#dooku: jedi lost

Guys. Guys Ben Drowned's canon last name isn't actually Lawman
I've known this for a while, and more I think about it, the more it makes me feel like I should say something 😭
It was a misconception that started with an older version of Ben's page on the Jadusable Wiki. (It was never used for any non-ARG version of Ben prior to this.) I remember spotting Lawman being used as Ben's last name around 2016-2018 or so, and it has been edited out of his page since 2020. (It was on the page they have for the dead child rather than the Network/entity. I think it might've happened before they moved off Fandom wiki, because I think I remember seeing comments and their new wiki doesn't have those).
During the second arc (2011-2012), Jadusable mailed some bonus material to people who donated to him. One of these bonus materials was a section from a newspaper, which describes the murder-suicide of two members of the Lawman family along with their son, with some tampering to the article that appears to have been done by BEN.
You can zoom into the image and read it, or check out it's page on the wiki here (which I highly recommend as it has some added information, like what all the censored words are.) It's a very interesting piece of lore that's fun to analyze--however, I wouldn't recommend reading it if you're super squeamish or sensitive to graphic details related to death. (The method of the killing itself isn't mentioned.)
While this seems to be about Ben on the surface, it's actually not. The only way we can tell is by the date of the newspaper: In the column to the left of the "Spring Is In The Air!" paragraph, the year 2011 is mentioned, but we know that Ben died on 4/23/2004. The wording of the Lawman event feels recent (as if they're talking about an event a few months prior), when Ben's death would've been far gone by now.
With what's likely BEN tampering on the top right (where they creatively use block-out poetry to say "You shouldn't have done that," among many other things) combined with the mention of someone's son dying, it makes a ton of sense that the wiki editors assumed that Ben is a member of this Lawman family that appears here. At some point, screenshots of the wiki ended up being circulated and the larger Creepypasta fandom accepted Lawman as being Ben's "real" last name.
Lawman is actually the last name of a different (and much less relevant) character, Tyler, who appears briefly in the first and third arcs. It's not entirely clear what happened to him or his family, and I think the Newspaper Article is intended to be fun bonus material for Jadusable's donators rather than something that's meant to supply important information about the ARG characters--something like Ben's last name would be crucial for puzzles and passwords, and would give the 50 donators who received the article an unfair advantage (and Jadusable isn't the type of creator who'd be okay with that). Regardless, it carries some interesting implications about the Behavioral Event Network, and Matt's initials are also here for some reason. It's probably one of the most head-spinning materials in the whole game.
#ben drowned#benjamin lawman#ben lawman#ben drowned arg#This is like 35% of why I didnt play in 2020 btw there was like a 2 month period where I thought the Moon Children just merced Ben's dad#I'm sorry if this post ends up being someone's introduction to the ARG because I don't know what the fuck is going on here either#creepypasta#matt hubris#jadusable#jeff the killer#lost silver#slenderman#LIKE IVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS AND IM STILL LIKE??? DID EVENT NETWORK DO THIS????? WHY IS MATT THERE????? WHAT#The time where the 'BEN makes people kts' headcanon became real for 2.5 seconds#I think Matt is here because BEN has a history of just saying the most cryptic shit about Matt specifically#People hc them as friends but I legitimately think they hate his ass#because why were they on that 'YOURTURN MATT' in arc 1 when he hasnt even had his character introduction yet. Diabolical#Ik theres that part in arc 2 where Matt is like 'I dont know what happened to my dear friend Ben... He ran away :(' but then BEN is like#'Why are you lying 🤥🤥🤥'#Lowkey thats a whole other post but also the alternative is that Matt is in the Network which doesn't make sense because Network and Matt#literally interact as separate entities throughout the entire story

Something I’ve sorta been thinking about recently is the Suzuki boys and their level of cooking ability, which (in my head) goes: Kenji —> Satoshi —> Taro.
And that’s not on a scale of “can fix gourmet food” to “will burn cereal if left unattended,” because all three of them are functional cooks. Their mother made damn sure her boys could use more than just the microwave and were competent at it. It’s more along the lines of “If they were given random set of ingredients could they figure out a meal that tasted good” and “if they for whatever reason had to go without a recipe, could they function” and “how much would they make from scratch.”
Kenji, while he’s a decent cook, is not the most creative. He’s gonna stick with what he knows, and he'll mess around with seasoning to taste there. If it’s something he doesn’t know, however, he’s always, always keeping a recipe pulled up and he will not deviate. He’s also someone who lives by “store-bought is fine,” because like. Come on man who has the time to go and make everything from scratch. The premade stuff works just fine, and sometimes you need some specific doohickey to properly get the thing made and it’s just… it’s too much gd effort. I think there may be some days he takes other shortcuts or skips over salting the pasta water as well.
Satoshi is the next step up. He's definitely more along the lines of "pretty decent homecook" when compared to Kenji, and a bit more flexible in that regard as well. He's not afraid of tweaking a recipe if he feels like something is missing, or if there's something he doesn't really like. He's also not too-too concerned if he accidentally puts a little (key word: a little.) more seasoning in than what's called for. His “from scratch” tendencies depend on what he’s making and the situation. He’s more likely to make a piecrust from scratch than say like… pasta noodles. He also likes using fresh ingredients when he can, but he's also fine with using like... pre-chopped garlic, for example. If it tastes good, it tastes good, and that's what he's aiming for.
Taro could probably take one of Chie’s wack-ass culinary ideas and figure out some way to 1. make it edible and 2. make it taste okay. He will experiment, he will use a recipe as a base, and he will make things from scratch if time allows. He’s probably got the best understanding of the fundamentals, and therefore has way more flexibility when it comes to messing around with cooking. He likes getting creative with it. He’s not against store-bought stuff, he’ll use it too, but also.. . homemade taste better. Homemade tastes so much better. He might get just the tiniest bit huffy if you suggest using store bought to him when he already planned to make it from scratch. Let him cook for you, let him bake for you, let him share food with you, that is very much a love language of his.

anyone alive?
Hi Hi! I'm still here! (Mod Tsuru), and I'm answering this as I don't think the other moderators have been on Tumblr for year(s).
I've also been debating what to do about the asks in the inbox, 'cuz I haven't been actively keeping up with TKRB for years but still like it... but I felt like I was too unfamiliar with newer swords or struggled to keep up with their stories+extra content...
I would've considered adding new mods to this account if it wasn't for the fact:
A) I didn't create this blog (Mod Jiji did)
B) I was the last/youngest recruit iirc + I don't really have contact w the other mods off tumblr.
C) Just a little bit it's a bit of nostalgia haha
I can try looking through them again though! But, it feels a bit wrong to run a HC blog as a truly casual fan.
However, if someone makes a new HC blog, feel free to let me know and I'll promote it here! Though I don't think we have a huge following her or anything (Not to mention OLD).
#Mod Tsuru#anonymous#not a headcanon#not a hc#I do like the newer swords for the record#it's just.......... gone are the days where I would obsessively read tl's of history books y'know?#and not to mention how insane it was for the wiki..............#im not in the space so I really dont knwo fanon vs canon#also i lost my tkrb acct!! so bitter about the proxy situation for jp so i never bothered to make a new acct

Explain the lore of a random animation
WOOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAA
Yes, I can do that right away, thank you.
I don't know if this is for anything in particular, but I'll start off with Dragon's Lair and if there's something else you want me to talk about like Space Ace, those scrapped games, or something else, go ahead 👍👍
(I'm so sorry for how long this is. And also this is just tying canon together with headcanon, so take it as you will)
Alright, before we begin, let's establish something. Even though he comes off as a very underrated character in the franchise, the games and its spin off material seems to do its best to establish the character of Mordroc (not to mention getting a lot more of a canon description and backstory than Dirk, Daphne, and Singe). It's mostly established through canon material that he is the main villain, as Singe and the other goons are just souls he owns (or the dark kingdom residents). Most of the levels and villains support this motive that he's just building up his power and kingdom.
Another thing established through the games is that the castle is likely very infamous, and it's often implied (more so little details and once in the comics) that knights have been set out before Dirk. So then why do you not see bones and armor of past knights littering every once of the castle? There's 3 explanations for this.
1. You do actually see knights, one being the Black Knight(Phantom Knight?) and the invisible armored figure in the floor-tile level. Despite his ghostly implication, the Phantom Knight has a lot of once-human qualities; like his figure, his voice, and still having a horse. You can easily assume because of this, that these were once knights for the actual kingdom on the other side of the land.
2. In the lava level, you are introduced to the Lava/Mud-Men, who are fairly strange creatures- but don't seem to actually be aggressive towards Dirk at all. While they do cause and appear in deaths, their intent is not to cause them. In the first and most prominent death they're seen in, they work together to push Dirk into a geyser full of mud. As soon as they emerge from it, you can see all 4 smile, with brand-new one frowning in the middle that so happens to be wearing Dirk's helmet (Aka they were once people). In the second death, Dirk falls into a tide and is pulled to the edge of the river. From the side, you can see the mud-men gather and watch him as he goes down in a concerned manner.
And finally 3. Apparently it's cannon that if you get cut, stabbed, slashed, or electrocuted in the DL universe, you have a 90% chance of blipping from existence. It's fully established with enemies, but you do see it happen to Dirk a couple times in his deaths- so it's just an overall thing instead of just working on the enemies.
So yeah, the Lair itself has this function and motive behind it. You can probably assume the majority of the characters were caught and forced to reproduce in the dungeon (Giddygoons), were once people (Knight characters, and Mud-Med), or was brought as an egg and raised (Lizard King, and probably Singe)-as a ploy to build up the support of the 'dark kingdom' and its riches.
Anyways, let's talk about the other half of the story before I forget. From across the land, the real kingdom resides. From a distance their rulers bare no prominent issues. However, on the inside, the castle and its staff 'suffers' because of the princess not putting enough heart into her land. Princess Daphne is a unique individual, often stepping out of the boundaries expected for a young lady at the time (also showing more than what would be allowed in a dress + wearing heels before women were allowed to). Her mother, despite being past a point of having an adult child, resents this behavior and always looks out to correct it. However, from Daphne's perspective, she was raised to do something she never had a passion or attention span for, and often fancied herself for the lives outside of royalty. She was corrected constantly no matter what, and often scolded by her piers with the phrase 'A good princess is seen and not heard'.
Eventually, Mordroc's dark castle eventually caused a major issue for the kingdom's people, and a neighboring kingdom generously transferred one of their best knights to subdue the issue. Dirk, or 'Dirk the Daring' was born in raised in a far-off and small village by his two parents on their farm. His parents were not that well off despite the farm, but were very humble with what they had nonetheless. When Dirk was very young, his family's previous home was taken down to some freak accident with him in the middle of it. Because of this, the parents found that he was suffering from Noise/Damage-Induced Hearing loss. As the boy had no outward sources to recover at the time, he began to lose his motive, voice, and personality. After seeing this decline, his parents invested almost every last penny with physical trainers, signing classes, and medics to restore the boy to his former glory. This paid off well down the line, as Dirk was able to enhance his natural instinct, skills, and graduated quickly from squire to local knight because of it. Through his pay through quests and journeys, he funded it all back to his parents and moved on from any kingdom that needed his assistance.
Once the transfer came through, Daphne's overall confidence was gained back again as she finally had someone to talk to without being scolded or told to act feminine. It wasn't a love at first sight thing, but rather two friends who supported each other well and didn't mind if the other had something to vent or talk about. The kingdom suspected something before they did, as there would be a point where you couldn't see one without the other tagging along. Sooner or later, the friendship broke-and was kept in private due to how they expected others to react to two different classes coming together.
The Queen eventually found out about it and embarrassingly announced it to her people to throw shame towards it. Because of this, the Queen did everything in her power to split the two up. Despite scheduling multiple useless meetings and suitor dates appointments for Daphne, and threatening and isolating Dirk- even to the point of greatly lessening his pay-nothing seemed to prevail. Even as she grew even more desperate, she frequently sent Dirk out on su1c1de missions-becoming the more impatient as he finished each one- unscathed.
The desperation grew outside of her morals, as she feared nothing more than her bloodline not carrying through the kingdom- or having to suffer a 'peasant' being a prince. At once, she called for a meeting in private with Mordroc, who was infamously known amongst the kingdom. The Queen made a deal he couldn't refuse, as she requested for him to separate Dirk and Daphne to allow for kingdoms and suitors to throw their hat in the ring of claiming and marrying daphne. For his reward, Modroc was offered to be announced 'redeemed' amongst the kingdom-and offered a place as the royal mange (Local Mange-Mordroc is seen/supported in some scrapped spinoff material). Mordroc agreed, with intention of either a. corrupting the castle from the inside and claiming the entire land or b. having the plan backfire a little and either have a disfigured princess and/or knight(s) to add to his kingdom's collection (as interpreted by the fact that writers don't seem sure if Mordroc and Singe are in it for catching Daphne or Dirk-and can't seem to make up their minds) (Also a handful of the deaths show Dirk getting captured, so it could be a double motive thing-as supported by the Phantom Knight paragraph)
Taking it way too far, Mordroc sent out his biggest Drake Dragon to retrieve Daphne, allowing for one of his goons to announce to neighboring villages and kingdoms to send their best to save her. While waiting for Daphne's safe return, the Queen ordered her men to blindly do what they can to subdue Dirk from going out to have her. Eventually, the kingdoms lost a good amount of men trying, which began to worry the Queen of her daughter's safety. Her desperation overcame her and she sent out the majority of her men- having none of them come back. Unintentionally, she got rid of what was keeping Dirk out of the way, so he immediately went out to save his princess.
After barley succeeding- Dirk was able to slay the Drake and save Daphne. She eventually caught on to what went on, and denounced her role as princess because of how twisted and uncaring her royal family has shown to be thus far. Dirk purposed at some point during this period of transfer, and they agreed to live in his hut and live off of what pure vigilantism would bring. While this did have a steady decline in pay compared to what they had before, they eventually made little successes as the years passed by; having only a few kids of their own, but becoming a safe and open home to adopt children with unsafe, abusive, neglectful, or non-supporting households. (Aka, why they didn't age much between 1 & 2, and why Daphne's body isn't hormonally wrecked from having 10+ kids)
The fact that they were building up a family of their own with no apparent regrets leaving the kingdom upset the Queen greatly. She became desperate once more, asking Mordroc to help once more with no further elaboration. After being upset from the last 'deal' not paying off at all and costing him most of his goons, Mordroc took it his own way and decided to split the two by marrying Daphne for himself. When they were least expecting it (likely when Dirk was out of uniform), he took Daphne and disappeared with her across time. Mordroc placed the beginning of a banshee spell on her, which is further inflicted on the subject by mourning what is lost (aka why he rips her from her time to one where Dirk and their kids aren't alive) and the placement of a sacred wedding ring (you may recall that this also supports the habit of Mordroc mutating and disfiguring all of his subjects)
The Queen being behind this is also supported by a couple things in the first scene of DL2
If it just happened, why did she hear about it. It's the 1400's. Are we really going to pretend like doves are that fast?
Also if she did hear about it, it would likely be from Dirk asking her to take care of the kids. She literally neglects the kids for the majority of her screen time, and just focuses on killing the one guy who can save her daughter.
Without an ounce of explanation, she targets Dirk for staying back and not leaving an unstable hut full of children (in the middle of a dark forest) who just lost their mom. The game and attraction show that her intention isn't to help him or get him out-but she literally breaks into their home to traumatize a bunch of kids by trampling their house-their dinner- and yelling at and murdering their father right in front of them. This could just be a ploy to just get rid of him while Mordroc is executing the other half of the plan (Okay-you can also say that the majority of the villains are voiced by the same guy also as evidence, but that also extends out to the time machine so... eh? 🤷)
(Uh-yeah. The little DL lore 'expert' here; I have no idea how to explain why Mordroc's mother gave birth to a time machine, or even how a time machine gave birth to Mordroc. There's literally nothing that alludes to the time machine being once-human. Honestly I don't think he was supposed to talk originally-but then they just had to explain partially why a wizard and a guy from the 1400's can time travel. No other material seems to talk about the time machine brother. Dirk just acts like he doesn't hear it- and maybe I don't either because its literal existence makes no lick of sense)
Mmmmm. I don't know how to end this honestly because there's two endings to DL 2. One is the normal one where Dirk breaks the curse and places it on Mordroc; instantly turning him into an indistinguishable mass having to be put out of his misery. But in the directors cut I have no Idea what happens because Daphne's curse only goes as far as knocking her out and turning her purple once- and then Mordroc just screams as the ring is flung onto him. I don't know if 'Director's Cut' is the director setting the bar to how far Mordroc would go or not, but overall the first ending doesn't seem out of place or character at all. The full release even calls that ending 'Full Mordroc'-but I still have no clue what that means because it literally lessens his pay-off and motive. Maybe they didn't want him to die in the end to open for a #3-idk.
Anyways, that's about it.
Thank you so much for asking that was fun to write!!!!
Anyways, hope that was alright.

How do you need to be touched? And what shatters you?
how do you need to be touched?
gently.
you need to be held as though you're going to break. you need someone to trace your scars like cracks in a wall, crumbling. their touch is almost painful; you've been without it for too long, without someone to hold you. but, you cannot bring yourself to pull away.
what shatters you?
sorrow.
this world takes and takes, and you cannot understand why... your heart cracks with each loss, and now, you fear it is only held together with fraying strings. perhaps you consider how simpler it would be not to care. but, would your soul allow you to?

I am once more thinking about Eirene and the significance of her name and how I've always found it a little bit strange that the first thing that will pop up in any searches is the association to the Greek goddess of Peace, Eirene - mostly because PtN Eirene doesn't come across as a pacifist. There is also a nice thread on the PtN reddit from some time ago where some guesses for the names of several characters were ventured and although some appear more obvious (NOX, Langley, Kelvin), the only mention there for Eirene is a former empress of the Byzantine empire.
And while I am 100% in favor of queenly aesthetics for Eirene (given the chessboard motifs, Quinn, etc), I never really liked this rather obscure association (I doubt 'empress Eirene' is the first empress or female monarch that comes to anyone's mind these days). As a result, I went back to the Greek mythology and thought it interesting that one of the few surviving statues of Eirene is a Roman copy, which depicts Eirene holding an infant Plutus - the Greek good for wealth. Now - this is more interesting; Eirene is the dominating figure of the Greed libram, and it's what drives her.
That statue is considered to be an allegory for 'Plenty' - in other words, 'Plutus' prospering under 'Peace'; frankly, this makes a lot more sense: while it's true that during wartime there is a financial gain for some enterprises, usually this leads to significant strife for the economy of a country and increased debt to finance war efforts. From a purely business, broader economic perspective - peace is actually more profitable.
And while Eirene (as a character) seems to not be afraid to 'get her hands dirty' (her own beginning battle quote) to achieve what she must for Quinn, she didn't resort to war to get to where she is; in fact, Eirene's wealth accumulates from sensible business choices, trade channels, political connections... Eirene's empire is built on peace (or the illusion of it) rather than all-out war. And then, one last element for consideration made me realize this is actually a pretty damn good name.
Eirene's equivalent in Roman mythology is Pax - and the Roman Empire reached its golden age during the so-called Pax Romana, going as far as inspiring other similar periods in human history where one had domination over the world in terms of geographical reach, cultural matters, trade and so on. The Roman Empire prospered as it had never done so because peace (or what was deemed 'peace' at the time) allowed them to be the strongest they ever were.
In a way - this seems to be what Eirene is doing; she is not seeking to go to war against any government agencies (at least not on the outside). Eirene is effectively establishing her own empire, going from DisCity to Outlands, controlling trade routes, having fingers in all sort of pies in DisCity in several different business segments and benefitting from 'civility' and 'order'.
Honestly - I have no idea if Eirene's name is supposed to be that deep and if Aisno went for all these connections when naming her; but now my mind has done these links, I feel much more at ease with her being named after the Greek goddess of peace.

Headcanon that since Jason can’t go out with his family publicly, what he does instead is show up in random disguises.
Bruce is chatting up some socialites at a gala, talking about the joys of fatherhood and how rewarding it is. Meanwhile he made eye contact with Jason disguised as a waiter twenty minutes ago, and is currently trying to stop his eye from twitching.
Dick is speaking to a third grade class as a part of the Bludhaven Police department outreach program, except when he walks in Jason is sitting behind the teachers desk, playing the role of substitute.
Babs can’t help but stare when Jason hands her a coffee from behind the counter of her favorite coffee shop. (His name tag reads Peter, and for a second she thinks she’s actually lost it).
Tim walks into Wayne Towers one day and on his way in, he waves to his secretary- lo and behold Marjorie has been replaced by Jason. It takes him three hours to notice.
Cass walks into ballet class to discover her teacher had to take a sick day- his replacement is Jason in a beret who talks in a terrible French accent the entire class, only to drop it at the very end to talk in a thick New Jersey accent. Her entire class talks about it for weeks.
Stephanie hails a cab on her way home one night, only to find Jason driving. She’s not sure how he pulled it off or how he got a cab, but her mind is effectively blown.
Duke is on a school trip to the natural history museum, and when the tour guide introduces himself, Duke can’t help but role his eyes. Jason gives a surprisingly good tour, even throwing in some tidbits about a robbery that went down just last week that the Signal stopped.
Damian’s encounter happens when he’s with Jon in metropolis. He’s watching Jon play baseball, and when Jon steps up to bat, he can’t help but notice a the umpire looks a little familiar.

roxana has been making a tapestry for almost the entire time she's been a vampire. she started maybe 50 years after she was turned, and it's kind of a patchwork, where she makes one panel every 50 years or so, featuring the most dominant style and subject(s) of that half century — so there is indeed a panel that looks remarkably similar to the bayeux tapestry, though woven rather than embroidered, just as there is also a panel to represent her human life. by the present day it's in actual fact multiple tapestries just due to sheer size, but it continues to be a living project.
#inspired by me going to a big old palace that had absolute immense tapestries hanging on the walls#to the point that some of the fireplaces were off-centre specifically to accommodate them#and thinking about all the artisans (presumably mostly if not exclusively women) whose names have been lost to history but whose legacy#lives on#i don't do tapestry work but i do embroider and crochet and the amount of work in those things is awe inspiring#ROXANA ASTERIUS / headcanon.
