ah I forgot how much of a warm embrace yoongi's music is....it's been a while since I really listened to it. he's still the best at making music out of ever human thats ever made music. music that makes me most feel real and alive, feel a connection, not feel alone 🥲

#riv rambles #I know some people have a set one but #I really do think depending on the selfship and the setting #the vision and the archon/message of said vision #would vary #like for example with alhaitham it’s electro because #I interpret electro vision wielders to be people of a specific ambition or goal #raiden and eternity or yae and freeing ei or dori and mora or kujo sara and being loyal to the shogun or cyno and upholding justice #there’s a hyper specific goal that all electro vision wielders are very centered and focused around that they are canonically vry ambitious #about achieving/maintaining #with alhaitham my selfship insert is very ambitious and dedicated to integration of desert children to the akademiya and just better #integration of the desert folks in the political system in general in sumeru #and with Wriothesley and Kinich it would be pyro because #I interpret pyro vision wielders to have one specific passion that they are very attached to #it’s not more so an ambition but more so a constant that they hold very dear and are passionate about #amber with the knights and klee with her explosives and lyney with magic and xiangling with cooking and yoimiya w fireworks + yanfei w law #bennett with adventuring and Hu Tao with business and xinyan with music and again the list goes on #anyway I think in the case of my selfship with wrio my insert is rather passionate about prison reform and in my selfship with Kinich it #centers around being passionate about the nation itself and natlan’s wellbeing/safety in an ongoing war with the abyss #and with ayato its cryo bc i think cryo vision wielders are people who have two sides of themselves constantly at battle #diona hates alcohol but makes fantastic drinks. kaeya conflicted with loyalty to his ancestry vs his nation atm. Eula conflicted with her #clan identity vs being a knight. Ayaka conflicted with duty vs living life as she pleases. shenhe and ganyu struggle between the adeptal #and human worlds since they’re involved with both #qiqi is alive but dead. freminet is loyal to the house of the hearth but wishes to also be free. and wrio ofc is in some ways a hero and #in some ways a criminal and those conflicting natures of his actions are at odds with each other very complexly so #ANYWAY #ofc again the list goes on but #for ayato I would consider my insert a cryo wielder because I think that being an arranged marriage #there’s conflict of duty vs personal choice and freedom but also not wanting to hold affection for him at first vs developing it anyway #labeling myself to one vision element for my insert all across the board I suppose leaves no room for the nuances of visions themselves

#i know i won't shut up abt 5sos but the real question is will i ever go to a better gig than darren criss in [redacted] 2023 #like i didn't even know half his songs before i went and i still had the best time i've ever had at a gig #literally the energy in that room was insane #and like... better than any gig i've ever been to in melbourne like #smth about being in a smaller place that artists don't often come to Especially not internation acts #everyone was so like... polite?#like they were doing concert so well they weren't being assholes and yelling when it wasn't their turn :')#which is so annoying i hate when a crowd is so roudy that it feels like a classroom and the teacher is waiting for everyone to shut up #like we can still have a good time if u respect the fact that some of us are spending hundreds even just Getting here #idk maybe i'm a music snob i just think there's something so magical in a quiet room full of people #like when something really beautiful has happened you can sit in it for a second #the pressure to cheer like... the idea that a moment of silence will somehow offend the artist who created the moment #i tried to find another concert on the tour where the crowd was as in the moment as we were for the line #'i believe there is music in the silence' and then he like #puts the guitar down and heads to the piano to do the rest #but it was so gorgeously quiet it was breathtaking i cried #it might have helped that he played the first half entirely accoustically no mic no amps #bc the venue was small enough and also designed to amplify naturally #but we all had to be so quiet to make sure everyone heard it so it just #the music hung in the air so magically y'all art is so good i'm still crying nothing will ever beat that concert i'm still chasing that hig #luke was nearly that magical but tbh..... the audience kinda ruined it for me at times :/#also he was nervous and kept cutting off the moment by saying 'thank you' like we get it ur a humble king but like #you have to let a song like place in me Breathe when it's done #you have to give the crowd a chance to go holy fucking shit what the fuck and THEN start screaming and Then thank them #but i'm truly such a snob it's the worst #honestly thinking abt how those lads are always improving tho he'll get there #by the time he's darren criss' age he'll be killing it even more they all will

#song of the day #it's May now! why does time!#did not finish the work trainings today. did finish setting up the tank for Duncan's frog #hopefully we'll be getting the frog next Saturday so we wanted time for the tank to cycle a while first #today's song comes up in Inheritance by Nora Roberts which I mentioned in those book asks last week (that was last week right)#it's got a ghost in (got lots of ghosts actually. pretty cool ghost setup) who communicates by playing different songs on the MC's tablet #I really love characters like that. very very fun #Bumblebee from Transformers my precious baby <3 #also there was a 'dancehall demon' in this witchy cozy mystery I read the other day #not a great book would not recommend but the demon guy was pretty fun. reminded me of Lorne from Angel kinda #if he spoke in his own voice everybody around would swoon so he had magic background music he used to communicate #it's always a neat mechanic #though if it's not a specific line being played as a specific response Bumblebee-style #but (as in Inheritance and the dancehall demon book both) rather the title of the song that's meant to be the message #then it does require the other character(s) in the scene to have a really quick and accurate ability to recognize and name songs #I kinda like the idea of a song playing and the speaking character going 'oh uh actually I don't know this one. what is it?'#and then either they have to pull out their phone and shazam it or some bullshit #or it plays through and they have to wait however long and then if/when the title line plays the ghost boosts the volume for a split second #like fingerspelling the one sign you don't know but much much slower and with more fast-forwarding through guitar solos

Connected through other songs. The stages of falling in and out of love #It's heartbreaking. 34. Is there a song you know every word to by heart? When I was younger I got the CD for All Things Bright and Beautiful (Owl City) as a gift. I’d play it over and over again on the computer and ended up memorizing all of the songs.

46. Favorite holiday film?

It’s no secret if you know me in real life. I love The Polar Express. It fits my very specific category of favorite stories.. dream-like and wholesome, while still being mysterious and a little gloomy too. Walking the line between imaginary and realistic. (And it’s about friendship, which I will always like best.) Listen to Seeing is Believing and I think you’ll understand why I love the mood of it all. (And if you’ve seen my art, you may pick up on the influence it had on my visual tastes too.)

#I’m pretty sure Owl City’s music is kind of just a meme now #but you have to understand #his music was poetic and colorful and weird #I really loved it #And the polar express isn’t exactly a movie that’s praised for its visuals anymore #But there was something magical about it as a kid #you could tell it wasn’t real… but it sure looked real sometimes #fits the theme of the movie I think

i think babylon tried a bit too hard to be super meaningful and poignant and fell a lil short. mess of a film but you cant say it wasn’t passionate & ambitious. maybe on a meta level it is interesting how the movie falls apart due to its own excess lmao

#i had fun #but that masturbatory last scene made me roll my eyes ill be fr #direction was so fun tho #one thing chazelle always nails is flow #might be bc he is so musical #idk how to describe it but he treats his scenes like they are songs #there is such rhythm to them #he really could have trimmed this shit down though #like the camera movement and direction really paces the film well #but the problem is that a lot of the scenes are the same #so it gets old quick #margot robbie was super good #also had some good comedic moments #i like the message that the industry is a cynical and putrid meatgrinder that destroys and exploits the lower class #for the sake of entertainment #but that it also creates magic. something bigger #i just think it faltered in execution a bit
