A Fitting Reunion
a tailor (spawn) astarion x fem!tav reader fic | nsfw | ~13.7k words

Summary: After a rather embarrassing experience at the reunion party, you have been nervous to see Astarion again. You manage to gather the courage to visit his tailoring shop for dress alterations—and to be a better friend to him. And maybe there is just a little part of you that still hopes for something more. But he couldn’t possibly want that—or could he?

Breathe.
Inhale. Hold. Exhale. Again. Then again. And again.
You can do this.
He is your friend.
A friend you used to sleep with.
A friend you never stop thinking about.
Ever.
Hells.
You have not seen Astarion since Withers’ party. The one where you drunkenly suggested you would not mind taking a stroll together back into the woods where the two of you once used to go. You could still remember the way.
You might have phrased things a little less delicately at the time.
And of course he said no.
“Darling, flattered as I am, I think it’s best we get you to bed. Your own bed, to be clear.”
A more gentle rejection from him than you perhaps deserved. What must he have thought of you? Coming on to him like that when you knew a night of passion was probably the last thing on his mind? You are supposed to care about him, not treat him like a piece of meat.
Not that you ever thought of him that way—but still you worry how it seems.
Fuzzy though the details are, you remember enough to know Astarion was the one to ensure your safe journey home that night. The one to step through the portal with you, to help you up the stairs, to tuck you under the covers. And how did you repay him?
You made yourself a stranger.
You should have gone to see him sooner. Apologized. Been a real friend.
Granted the party happened only a month ago. A month is not too long a wait, is it? People live busy lives. Some of your friends you only see a few times a year.
Or maybe it has not been long enough. Maybe you are making too big a deal of this, and you will only be making an even greater fool of yourself by doing this now.
The garment bag draped over your arms feels heavier and heavier. Maybe a purely social call would have been a wiser choice than this transactional one. On the other hand, you do want to show your support for his new business venture. Any friend would do that, right?
Breathe, you remind yourself. Just breathe.
You repeat your exercises as you try to calm your rapid heartrate. A near impossible task knowing he will be able to hear it the second you walk through that door. Gods, your heart is hammering so hard that you worry he might already hear it through the walls. Curse his vampiric senses.
You can still turn back around. Come back another time. When you are ready.
Who are you kidding?
You will never be ready.
But, if the choice is between now or never—between the shame of showing your face or the pain of never seeing his again—you know what you have to do.
Swallowing your pride, you manage to free a hand enough to turn the handle, lean against the door, and push.
The bell rings.
Its shrill announcement of your arrival sends you spiralling. You think of running. Hiding. Just dropping to the ground and crying.
But there will be no escape because the second you hear that achingly familiar voice sing out the word, “Coming,” your feet are frozen to the floor.
Then comes the inevitable moment, when you see him and he sees you, and you look away, and you look back, and you try not to avert your gaze, and you try not to stare, and gods help you through this for his beauty stuns you still.
He briefly mirrors your silent stupor before you see the crinkle of his eyes and the crook of his charming smile. “Hello, darling.”
Frantically you ask yourself what this means. You sift through every detail you know about the man before you as you try to deduce the thoughts running through his mind. Whether he is truly happy to see you or if he only pretends to be. Whether this is his real face or once more the mask.
You have imagined this scene a million times, practiced every possible variation of it in your head, but when you try to think what to say your mind runs blank. You settle for a few words that are simple and true. “It is good to see you, Astarion.”
“And same to you, my friend,” he says, and you manage a small smile. Are you really worthy of being called his friend after all this time apart? Is an honest-to-goodness friendship even possible between the two of you?
You do not speak so he continues. “And might I add that you are looking more delicious than ever.”
Oh. He is flirting with you. Falling back on old habits, perhaps. Or maybe he seeks to lighten the mood, to ease you into a conversation that clearly makes you feel awkward. Nothing more. Still your heart flutters as it always used to back in those early days.
Back when you were foolish enough to believe he might be your forever.
“I was hoping you could help me,” you tell him, trying to get yourself back on track. “I have a gown that needs alterations. I take it you have heard about the upcoming Ravengard ball?”
“Oh, yes,” he says, reaching out to take the garment bag from you, and though you are glad to be free of its weight, you are not quite sure what to do with your hands. “I have been invited myself, but honestly, I expect the whole affair to be dreadfully boring. I suppose I could always introduce a little chaos into the mix myself, but…” He shrugs. “I’ll likely just skip it.”
“You’re not going? Not even for Wyll?”
Not even for me? That third question burns in your mind but you dare not ask it.
“We were not exactly the best of friends if you’ll recall.”
That is true. You remember many a tense exchange between them—Wyll needlessly cruel at times, Astarion spitting back with an understandable but equally vicious venom—no real surprise that the unlikely alliance between a monster hunter and a vampire spawn would also be an uneasy one.
The fact that you once shared a dance with the Blade did nothing to help matters. The tenderness in his touch and the awe in his eyes told you he wanted something beyond friendship. A true love, a happily ever after, a tale straight out of the pages of a storybook—tempted though you were, you could not envision that future with Wyll. Not while you were still spending your nights tangled up with Astarion.
Even knowing now how it all turned out you would not have chosen differently.
You consider encouraging him to attend, expressing how much you would appreciate having his company there, but you let the moment pass as you follow him deeper into the shop. “It seems you have done quite well for yourself,” you comment—your words still feel more stilted than you would like, and your gaze meanders about the shop rather than meeting his—but at least you are here.
And he really has done well for himself, you think. The front of house proudly displays a tasteful array of apparel—a combination of carefully curated selections from local clothesmakers and his own elegant and inventive fashions. Perhaps you should have commissioned him to design your dress in the first place.
“I have, haven’t I?” He lets out a little hmph as he considers it. “I thought this life might be a little, uh… pedestrian, for my tastes, but… to my surprise, I like it. It suits me rather well.”
“I agree,” you say with a genuine smile as he stops you in front of a series of curtains—the dressing rooms, you assume. Sure enough he pushes one open and gestures you inside, hanging the garment bag on a hook.
“Well, darling, let’s get you out of those clothes and into that dress, hm?” Your breath hitches. You almost let your imagination run away with you, but of course he gives you your privacy. “I’ll be here whenever you’re ready.”
You peel off each layer one by one, trying not to think about the fact that your former lover is on the other side of this curtain, trying not to remember the slow and sensual ways he used to strip you bare.
But you do think about it. You do remember.
You are just friends now, you remind yourself. No more. And no less, you hope. To be without him all this time has left a hollow in your heart. You want to fill its empty spaces with his presence. You want him to be part of your life again.
So why does being here only make your heart ache harder?
And why are you still so godsdamned nervous?
You sigh and slip into your gown, admiring its A-line silhouette and its delightful shade of purple. Not quite the right fit, but that is why you are here after all. Astarion can surely fix that for you. He does work wonders with his hands.
Hands that you now realize will have to lace up the back of your dress because there is no way you’ll be able to accomplish that by yourself.
Hugging the loose garment tight against your chest, you call for help. “Astarion?”
“Yes, dear? Don’t tell me you’ve managed to fall into peril right here in my dressing room. You do seem to have a knack for finding trouble wherever you go.”
“Just… come in, please.”
He pushes through the curtain and you are instantly and acutely aware of just how snug this little space is.
“Ah, you need to be tied up, I see.”
Of course he would choose to phrase it like that. Now you are thoroughly convinced he is thoroughly enjoying your embarrassment. He always did like to make you squirm. In more ways than one, the Astarion in your head adds. Ugh. You feel a fleeting sense of relief as you spin around, but the mirror betrays you, putting your mortified expression on full display while the look on his face remains a mystery to you. The chuckle you then hear at least helps you picture his smirk.
He takes his time with you. Like he always did. Words he once said echo in your mind. A treat like you deserves to be savoured. Does it tempt him still to be so close to you? To sense your blood pumping through your veins? To see your neck so deliciously exposed? You ponder and you reminisce and you catch yourself tilting your head to one side.
It seems the tempted one is you.
You wonder if he noticed. He may be ‘tying you up’ as he so eloquently put it, but you feel more like he is undressing you. Like he is uncovering you bit by bit, inch by inch, piece by piece. Like he could reach into your mind and read your most intimate thoughts even though the tadpoles are long gone.
“There we are,” you finally hear him say, snapping you back to reality. You pause in front of the mirror together and you wonder what it isn’t telling you. What he thinks when he looks upon you.
“A fine choice, my dear,” he says as you both step out of the dressing room. “Much better than those hideous rags and that horrid armour you wore on the road.”
You roll your eyes at him. “That horrid armour kept me alive. Forgive me for picking function over fashion.”
“Oh, come now, fashion need not be sacrificed. Yours truly had both, thank you very much.” He gives you a playful bow.
You snicker—and then a full-fledged grin spreads across your face. To have this bit of banter with him again feels right. A bit of good-natured ribbing is something you can handle. What you do not know quite how to handle is—
“Luckily for you that smile more than made up for your questionable wardrobe.”
And just like that you no longer know what to say.
Astarion guides you over to a fitting platform, circling you as he sizes up what needs to be done. And though you know this is all about your dress and not you, you begin to fidget under his intense scrutiny.
“Much too long, obviously,” he remarks. “Typical. It should be taken in at the waist, too. We must do justice to that pretty figure of yours after all.”
Another flirtatious comment from him, another internal panic for you. You are not given much time to ruminate on this one though before he asks you a question that catches you off guard.
“Did you bring your shoes?”
“My shoes…?”
“Shoes, darling,” he says, elongating the rounded vowel as he repeats the word. “You have heard of the concept, surely. They come in pairs? You wear them on your feet?”
“I know what shoes are,” you insist, glancing towards the open dressing room where your trusty boots remain on the floor.
He follows your line of sight, and you nearly laugh when you look back to witness his eyebrows raise in horror then furrow again in exasperation. “Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. You will not be wearing those ghastly things to a ball.”
“They’re comfortable, and no one will be able to see them,” you say with a shrug and a smile, and this time you do laugh at the indignant noise he makes in response. Really, you did plan on wearing something more suitable—but you are enjoying this little opportunity to vex him.
“Absolutely not. As an upstanding citizen of this fine metropolis, I cannot stand idly by while you commit this outrageous crime against fashion.”
“Upstanding citizen, huh?”
“Of course,” he says with that mischievous smile of his. “I’m hardly the ‘help every poor unfortunate soul in sight’ type—that, my dear, is unique to you and you alone—but perhaps a smidgen of your do-gooder nature has rubbed off on me. Now,” he continues, returning to the matter at hand, “let me find you some decent shoes. We’ll need them to measure the length.”
Ah, that makes sense. You pout and you nod, playing your little game, but you do look forward to a new pair of shoes. Your adventures did leave your boots well-worn, not to mention covered with so much gore and grime that not even repeated scrubbings could remove all the stains. Your boots really did see everything.
He disappears into another part of the shop then reappears with a few options in hand—a selection of flats and modest heels you can actually picture yourself walking in—all simple but elegant. He knows just what you like.
“Sit and try these on,” he says, extending a hand out to you—an offer to help you down from the platform you presume—and you take it.
His touch is pure electric shock. Or maybe it is only the chill of undeath that leaves you shivering. And then you think on it, that pleasing tingle, the texture of his skin, the way his long, slender fingers interlock perfectly with yours, and your heart is fluttering, and he lets go all too soon, and you are lost. Empty. Incomplete.
And right now you are not ready to consider what that means.
You push your confusion out of your mind as you take a seat on the edge of the platform, refocusing on the task at hand. You pick out a pair of off-white kitten heels and try them on, and you find yourself pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they feel. To be sure, you take a few steps, you test other pairs, you return to the first—yes, these will do.
“Satisfied?” Astarion asks, and you nod. “Good. Back up you go, darling.”
You step onto the fitting stand once more—without assistance this time, which is somehow both a relief and a disappointment. Astarion sets about his work, pulling pins out of the small cushion tied to his wrist and pushing them through the hem, all while you stare into space and contemplate whether or not you should say anything.
You should say something, you decide. You did manage to catch up with him a little at the party last month before your drink got the better of you, but you are doing a poor job of it now. You’ve barely even talked. Not really. How can you call yourself his friend if you cannot even gather the courage to speak to him?
“How are you?” you blurt out. Those few trite words do little to express how much you truly care for his well-being, how every day you wonder if he is fed, if he is safe, if he is happy. Quickly you add, “With the whole ‘vampire tailor’ thing, I mean. No monster hunters at your door, I hope?”
His nature clearly isn’t a secret. The many mirrors give him away if nothing else.
“Not a one,” Astarion says, glancing up at you from where he kneels. “I am, after all, one of the great heroes of Baldur’s Gate. The fact that I also happen to be a vampire spawn is not so much a threat, but an… eccentricity. And a bit of eccentricity is right at home in this city.”
“I’m glad no one is giving you any trouble,” you say. Another question needles your mind, one you are almost afraid to know the answer to, but you ask it anyway. “And… are you feeding well?”
“I have my sources.” Oh. Good. That is good. Yes. Definitely. Not like it matters who or how. Not like the mere thought of him sinking his teeth into someone else crushes you. Not like the scene plays out in your mind no matter how much you don’t want it to. Your eyes shut. Your stomach twists. Your heart sinks.
“None quite like you,” he adds, and beneath that sultriness he so likes to tease you with, you detect a softness there. Or maybe it is only a trick of the imagination. A pretty lie you tell yourself.
And yet, when your eyes flicker open, all you can see is his boring back into yours, staring, seeking, searching.
Breathe. You must breathe.
And then the moment is gone, and he shifts out of your sight, concentrating his efforts on the back of your dress.
The minutes pass in screaming silence.
You wish he would fill your ears with little jokes, or idle chatter, or something, anything to save your mind from spiralling. Anything to save you from you.
You regret all you have done wrong and all you have failed to do right. And yet, you want, and you yearn, and you hope.
“It really has only ever been you, you know.”
His words shock you back to your senses and suddenly he is standing on the platform with you, mere inches away.
“Oh,” you say. Gods, what else can you say?
All is quiet between you. He fusses with your straps, and the fabric of your bodice, pins everything into its proper place. A hand lingers at your waist.
“You once told me that the world can be a kind place. That has been truer than I expected. But no one has been more good to me—and good for me—than you.”
What?
No. Whatever you think this is, you are wrong.
“I’m not so sure about that,” you protest, your heart pounding. “That night at the party… I wasn’t thinking, I… I know it wasn’t what you… I’m so sor—”
He stops you, shushing you softly. “Oh, no, no, love, you will not apologize for that. A little drunken fancy is nothing to be ashamed of. You were nothing but sweet. And it was sweet of you to worry. Unnecessary, but sweet.”
Your head is spinning. You were far from a good friend that night. You did him wrong. You were so sure.
But he does not seem offended in the least.
Quite the opposite, really.
“Although,” he says, and you hear the mischief in his voice as he leans in to speak into your ear. “I am rather curious about those pretty words you said when…”
The bell rings.
The two of you startle and separate.
“Oh, Astarion, dear? a voice calls out, singsong yet sharp.
The scowl that then sullies his features tells you all you need to know. He curses under his breath before singing out an answer. “Just a moment, Lady Furrington. I am finishing up with another client.”
Astarion is all business now as he checks over his handiwork, and as he ushers you to the dressing rooms, and you cannot help but to mourn what could have been had no one else stepped foot through that door. You wonder what he would have done. What he would have said. What might have sparked between you.
You will lie awake tonight wondering and wondering and wondering.
You pause together just outside the dressing room, and he says, “My apologies for the abrupt finish, darling. Her requests are endless, but her coin purse is bottomless. Enough so that an extra charge here and there goes unnoticed.”
“You have to do what you have to do,” you say with a shrug. You take a step into the change room, and to your surprise, he follows you inside. You shoot him a quizzical look.
“The laces?”
“Uh, yes. Right. Thank you.”
He reaches around you as he begins to pull them loose. He is close. Impossibly, maddeningly, enticingly close. His gaze falls to your lips and, gods, you can almost taste his.
“Astarion?” cries out that same shrill voice.
He steps back. Another moment lost forever.
“Come back tomorrow night?” he asks.
Sooner than you thought, but you do not question it. You simply say, “Yes.”
You leave. You start your trek home. And, as you walk, an inkling of something forgotten—something you wanted to forget—itches within your brain. What was it he mentioned about that night? Something about ‘those pretty words’ words you said?
You think, and you think, and you think, delving deep into your fragmented memories, searching for the missing pieces you need to complete the puzzle.
You stop in your tracks.
You remember.
That night, as he put you to bed, at the height of your foolishness, you told him the most mortifying thing you could have told him.
But in wine there is truth.
You felt it. You said it. You meant it.
You love him.
It was the right choice. The right choice. The right choice.
How many nights have you lain awake, desperate to believe in the truth of those words? You thought one day they would sink in and soothe you. Instead their endless echoing always felt more like a pulsing headache.
Funny that, last night, the very opposite thought is what kept you awake.
What if, all this time, you were wrong?
You were so sure back then that friendship was the right choice. A hard choice, but the right choice. Never had anyone given him anything without the expectation for more. You could be that person, right? You should be that person. You wanted to be that person. A friend was what he needed. What he deserved. That superceded any silly notions of romance you had in your head.
Your offer of friendship meant everything to him, or so it seemed. Not a friend in the world until you, he said. His sincerity and his soft words melted your heart, and when he took your hand in his, and gazed into your eyes, you knew you were hopelessly in love with him.
You fought it. You denied it. You cried and cried and cried over it.
Still your feelings stayed the same. And so you did the only thing you could do. You resolved to keep your secret hidden under lock and key.
As if anything in this world under lock and key is safe from the likes of Astarion.
You love him. You have always loved him. You still love him.
And it seems he knows it, too.
And maybe, just maybe, there exists the teeniest tiniest trace of a possibility that he might be interested in you?
No, no, no. Surely you are mistaken.
He thought about kissing you, though, didn’t he? You saw him glance at your lips, right? Or did you?
No, no, no. A figment of your wild and wishful imagination, nothing more.
He would never want you.
Still you primp and you preen before the mirror like you are prepping for a date, not a dress fitting. Still you want to impress him, enamour him, pretend you stood a chance with him. Still you wonder and you worry that, maybe, improbable as it seems, you did once stand a chance with him, denied him and deprived him, denied and deprived yourself.
“You deserve something real. I want us to be something real.”
Those words of his still echo in your memories. You thought, then, that friendship was the realest thing you could ever hope to share. But, if you let yourself try, you could have been something more, couldn’t’ve you?
Maybe he did want you, could want you, does want you.
And if he does…
No. Do not let yourself go there. Do not get your hopes up. Never get your hopes up.
You take a moment to breathe, pull yourself from the mirror and leave through the front door. You will go to this appointment and you will be normal and you will be sane and you will be the friend you promised him you would be, not some gawking idiot full of foolish desires.
Twenty minutes is what it takes to walk from your place to his. Twenty minutes of exercise? A good thing, of course. Twenty minutes of cycling through these same tired thoughts ad nauseum? A not-so-good thing. That will not help you through this.
Maybe it won’t make much of a difference. After all you are quite capable of sending yourself into a frenzy in a mere twenty seconds let alone twenty minutes.
When you finally arrive at his door your head is still swimming.
Breathe. Just breathe.
You did it yesterday. You can do it again today.
The bell rings.
The silence that follows is enough to deafen you.
Well, it would seem you underestimated yourself before. You thought it would take twenty seconds to achieve total panic? More like five.
Astarion appears in the blink of an eye, all elven grace and vampiric mystique, emerging from what feels like out of nowhere but in reality must have been somewhere back of shop.
He is somehow even more gorgeous today, if that is even possible. His hair, perfectly coiffed; his vest, exquisitely embroidered; his whole ensemble, impeccably tailored to emphasize his broad shoulders and slender waist. His sleeves are rolled up, and his shirt is a little more open than it perhaps needs to be at the chest, and gods, are you blushing?
You are here for a reason, and that reason is not to ogle him, tempting though it might be.
“Darling!” he says, greeting you with that brilliant smile you so adore. “I’m glad it is you, and not a certain patriar that so rudely interrupted us yesterday. There is only so much of that particular displeasure I can endure. My patience is thin enough as it is.”
“And yet you have managed to endure,” you remark, laughing a little at the thought of him attempting to navigate customer service. “The coin is that good, huh?”
“Oh, it is. Satisfying as it might be to deny my services to the worst offenders, a few of these annoying but harmless ones must be tolerated. Bad for business otherwise. Today, though, I made a point of keeping my schedule clear of all other distractions. My only priority now is you.”
You. The way he purrs out that one little word sends a thrill throughout your body.
But you must not read into that. You must temper yourself.
Be normal. Be sane. Be his friend.
“Alas, your gown is not quite done yet, though. I was just finishing up the hem when I heard you come in. It won’t take long. Follow me into the back, if you will?”
“Oh, uh, of course,” you say. You had expected more or less a repeat of the previous day—trying on the dress, making sure it fits correctly, changing back into your regular clothes, returning home. A nice, predictable order of events.
You like predictable. You like all its safeties and comforts. You like how it acts as a balm to all your anxieties. If you can predict, then you can prepare.
Unpredictable, though. Unpredictable is unnerving. Downright terrifying, even. And yet it is rife with possibilities.
The best things in your life have come from unpredictable. The greatest adventure you’ve ever had. The happiest memories.
The man you love more than anything.
Even if what passion you shared was fleeting. Even if this platonic connection is all that remains. Even if that glimmer of hope you cannot quite quash, no matter how unwise you think it, crushes you one day. You will still tend to and treasure your bond in any and every way you can.
So you take a deep breath and you follow him.
Astarion leads you into a room just big enough to double as a work area and a storage space. Rolls of fabric, diverse in colour, pattern and texture, fill the shelves lining the walls. What you notice most, though, are the in-progress projects draped over the mannequins. You would love to watch him at work. You suppose you will get one little taste of that now.
You also spot the base of a staircase in one corner, and that sparks an even greater curiosity within you. This lower floor is his business, but that upper floor is his home. A place entirely his own, and you hope he has filled it with anything and everything that makes him feel safe and happy and free. Maybe he will invite you up those stairs someday—you are friends after all—but for now you both seat yourselves across from each other at his work table.
“A good thing you came to me for this, darling,” he says, and you try not to stare as he licks the tip of his thread and pulls it through the eye of his needle with ease, “—else you would have been out of luck. Wait times are usually much longer than this.”
That is true, and you know you should have planned for this better. The ball is only a tenday away. “Oh, I’m sorry for the rush, you didn’t need to—”
“Hush, hush, my sweet,” he says, a gentle chiding that reminds you of yesterday. “It was not a bother. Not in the least. Although…” He pauses and smirks. “You haven’t paid me yet.”
Aghast, your mouth drops open, but he stops you before you can blurt out your hundred apologies.
“Now, I know that one so honest as you would never make such a mistake on purpose. Our time was cut short after all. Then again, not all of our gold was acquired by honest means, was it?”
“Thanks to your thievery,” you remind him. “Gods, you practically cleaned out the whole Counting House.”
“And yet I don’t recall you objecting. True that I picked many locks during our adventures, and why was that I wonder?” He makes a show of his hums and his haws and then one final aha. “Oh yes, that’s right. Because you asked me to.”
“Our mission was important,” you insist. “We needed gold, intel, resources… We did what was necessary to succeed. To survive.”
“Oh? Tell yourself that if you must, darling, but I think you just liked to watch my hands.”
That comment instantly warms your cheeks—and the realization that you actually have been watching his hands as he starts to sew absolutely scorches them. When you glance up to his face, you find him grinning at you.
And just like that you’re grinning too. You are embarrassed, yes, but you must admit there is something especially endearing about seeing Astarion like this—the skill, the passion, the care he puts into his work, the way his smile softens as he settles back into his state of calm and contented concentration—he looks happy.
It makes you happy. It makes you calm—or at least as calm as you can be under these circumstances. It makes you love him even more.
“You’re not exactly subtle, you know,” he says, shifting back in his chair, pulling the garment from the table and into his lap, pulling farther away from you. Have you been staring too much? Has he taken offense? Does he no longer want you here?
He pauses, and gives you a pensive look, and you look back, lost as to what to do or say or think. Maybe you should go. Give him some space. But, he invited you in, didn’t he? Said it wouldn’t take long? You can’t just leave.
And you don’t want to leave. You hope that he doesn’t want you to leave either.
He breaks the silence with a chuckle, resuming his stitching like nothing has changed. “You never were. Not that I mind, though. If you want to watch a master at work, then who am I to deny you?”
“I can hardly see what you are doing now, though.” You try to keep your words matter-of-fact. Try not to show just how unsure and insecure you are in this moment. In too many of your shared moments.
“A shame. I’m afraid you will have to settle for admiring the stitchwork when it’s done. And it will be well-worth the admiration, I assure you.”
You try to read him. He gives nothing away, offering up no more than a little smirk as you study him. He was always better at reading you than you were reading him.
You want to know. You need to know.
“I will,” you say, and that need to know brings out a boldness in you that was not there before, and though your inner voice scolds you and screams at you, you add, “though I would rather admire you.”
His eyes briefly flicker to yours, then back to the dress. You swallow hard.
“Then, by all means, bask in my presence and shower me with your praises.”
Good. No scrunching up his nose, no recoiling in disgust, no sign you went too far. But neither did he give you any indication that his feelings mirror yours.
Not that you truly expected that, of course.
Still you continue to examine him closely. He seems relaxed, focused, comfortable. There is a hint of fang to his smile and a gleam to his eye, and when he next glances at you, he raises an eyebrow.
Wait, does he actually want you to praise him? Should you? What can you even say? Oh, Astarion, you are clever, and funny, and talented, and gorgeous, and I am completely, absolutely, madly in love with you?
The greater your panic, the greater his amusement, until he can no longer resist clicking his tongue at you. “So shy now, darling. And yet you were not the least bit shy for me the last time I had you on your back.”
Oh. Whatever you expected, it wasn’t that.
Your wide-eyed, open-mouthed, heart-thumping shock earns a hearty laugh from him.
“Gods, you’re so adorable.”
Words fail you, and so you let out a giggle, its pitch too sharp, its volume too loud, its presence awkward, your presence awkward.
“It’s a good thing, my love,” he says softly, sincerely. “Trust me on that.”
My love. You zero in on those two words, and though your head tells you to dismiss them, your heart tells you to keep them and to cherish them.
And you are growing quite the little collection of words to thrill and fill you. Adorable, on your back, tied up, pretty figure, looking delicious, that smile, nothing but sweet, good to me, good for me. My love. You have not forgotten a single thing he said.
But you know it would be foolish to treat every flirtatious remark and sweet nothing as a romantic overture.
Even if you want to. And, oh, how you want to.
You seek distraction now, glancing at the table in front of you. It is a rather cluttered space, various tools of the trade scattered about—spools of thread, scraps of fabric, scissors and needles and pins—but what catches your eye most is a messy little pile of papers. Sketches.
“Are those your designs?” you ask, nodding towards the stack, leaning a little closer—just enough to imply a second question: “May I see them?”
“Yes,” he answers, and though he rolls his eyes, he smiles. “Go on, then. Take a look.”
Carefully you gather up the pages and begin your perusal. His sketches immediately impress. Astarion, the artist—you had never pictured it—but perhaps it should come as no surprise that a man with a skilled hand and a keen eye would take so well to pencil and paper. The time, the effort, and the creativity he poured into these—into every aspect of his work—is clear, and you are glad to see this side of him.
One by one, you look through the sketches, giving thoughtful attention to each and every one before moving on to the next. Some are still in their early stages, little more than rough outlines, while others are fully realized with intricate detail and vivid colour. The designs range from the everyday to the formal, from the simple to the elaborate, from the masculine to the feminine, and everything in between. A little something for everyone.
It eases you, this repetitive motion, this comforting quiet, this sweet glimpse into the life of the one you love.
Until you see it. Until your fingers tighten against the paper. Until you freeze.
Not because of the clothing, but because of the model. The shape of her figure. The shade of her skin. The style of her hair. The familiarity of her face.
It’s you.
He drew you. Like you are his muse. Like he could not help but to think of you. Like he is as in love with you as you are with him.
No, you try to tell yourself, this must be some coincidence. And even if it isn’t a coincidence—and really you should just admit to yourself that this cannot be a coincidence—it cannot mean what you want it to mean, right?
Maybe it is just because you are his friend. A real person he can easily visualize in his mind’s eye. Yes, that must be all this is. Yes, of course.
You quickly flip through the remaining pages. There is no Karlach, no Gale, no Shadowheart, no Wyll, no Lae’zel, no Halsin, no Jaheira, no Minsc—not that any of them got to know Astarion as well as you did, though. All you find are faceless figures, generic and unremarkable. Until, oh, there you are again. Oh, and once more. And again. And, by the gods, again.
“Did something catch your eye, darling?” Astarion asks, lips curled into a smirk, looking and sounding every bit like the cat that got the cream.
You pull that first sketch of you out of the pile and set the rest down, holding it in the air for him to see. “Is this me?”
“Ah, come to think of it, I did have you in mind when dreaming up that particular outfit, yes.” He shrugs, and the nonchalance of it all vexes you.
“And not only this one?”
“Not only that one, no. I do think of you often, you know.”
No. You don’t know. But maybe you are beginning to know. Beginning to let hope blossom in your heart, brave and beautiful and boundless.
He pauses his work, stares at you a moment, meets you eye to eye—and, gods, you feel like you are connecting heart to heart. Soul to soul. He speaks again, eventually, shifting back to a less serious, light-hearted tone. A retreat into his own comfort zone.
“What more can I say? I like to imagine you in my clothes, darling.”
And out of them, you can almost hear him say. Honestly you could go for a little body to body as well, but you know not to push him. Hells, you are not even a couple.
You never will be, says a different voice. An unwelcome voice. Your own voice, ever cruel and destructive. But maybe that voice of yours is wrong. Maybe it isn’t never. Maybe it is just not right now.
And you can live with not right now.
“Actually,” Astarion continues, “I’m not sure imagination is enough anymore.”
You blink at him.
“I’ve always thought working with a live model could spice things up a little. Someone to be my canvas, so to speak. Perhaps you might be willing to step into that role sometime? I rather like having you around.”
He wants you here more often. Does not mind being up close and personal with you. Wants to be up close and personal with you.
The very notion of it makes you giddy with an excitement you are no longer able to contain, and so when you open your mouth, what slips out is, “I like you, too.” Gods, what are you saying? “Like being around you, too.”
Embarrassing, yes, but you decide that grin upon his face and that laughter rippling out of him are worth it.
“If it is what you want, then I will be here.”
“It is what I want,” he says, and there is a conviction to it that sets your heart fluttering. You watch as he reaches for a pair of scissors. “Well, darling. It’s settled then. And I am pleased to tell you your dress”—a pause, a snip—“is complete.”
Oh. You were starting to wish this would take the whole night.
He sets down the scissors, the needle, and what remains of the thread upon the table, standing as he smooths out the gown—and that is when you realize it. That thread. It is thick and gold, not fine and colour-matched like you would have expected. Granted, you are not the expert here, but it is a curious choice—and a choice that makes you curious.
But, before your mind can wander too far down that path, Astarion’s voice startles you back to the present.
“Well, darling? You do realize you will have to try it on again?”
“Yes, of course,” you say, your chair screeching backwards as you push yourself out of it. “And thank you. For everything.”
“It is my job, after all,” he says, slathering his words with a thick coat of exasperation, but even he cannot hide the pride underlying them. “And for you? It is my pleasure.”
Always the flirt. But, for the first time in a long time, you allow yourself to believe there might be more to it than a little teasing or empty flattery.
And, small and insignificant as it seems, you are still wondering about that thread.
He leads you out of the back room and over to the dressing rooms, back to that same snug space you shared with him yesterday, pushing the curtain to one side and hanging up your gown. You step inside and pull the curtain closed.
You undress, and you think, and something he told you tickles your brain. Something about the stitchwork. “It will be well-worth the admiration, I assure you.”
Hmm. Maybe you should take the time to admire it.
You lift the hem and examine its inner edge, following that neat, flawless line in its circle, not a single speck of gold to be seen—
Until you find it. A hidden message, simple in design, yet elegant in execution. Four words. Four earth-shattering, heart-warming, life-changing words.
I love you too
You want to laugh and you want to cry and you want to sing. You want to wrap your arms around him and squish him and squeeze him until he can take no more. You want to tell him how much you love him, tell him a thousand times, then a thousand more, and gods, you want to hear him say it.
But to embroider those words so lovingly into the fabric is the sweetest confession he could have made to you.
You love him even more for it.
You can hardly wait to tell him—properly this time, not uttered out on some drunken late night like before—but, for now, you slip into your dress, and step into your shoes, trying hard to suppress the squeals begging to burst out of you.
He loves you. You spent so much time—too much time—convincing yourself that such a thing was impossible. But he loves you.
You exit that little room, and you see him, and you know it would only take seconds to close the gap between you and hug him and never let go. But, your dress is hanging open in the back, and you’re shaking, and you don’t want to ambush him with your touch if he is not yet ready for that.
The moment will come.
Or maybe it is time to take control of this. You will find that moment, and if you don’t, then you will create it, and then when you do, you will make it count.
Automatically he walks towards you, steps behind you, laces up your bodice, so close yet not close enough. You wish you could touch him, and the next thing you know, he is offering you his hand, and so you take it, and you squeeze it.
And he squeezes yours back.
He guides you onto the fitting stand. You catch a brief glimpse of yourself in the surrounding mirrors—the perfect fit of your gown, the way your smile shines—but the only thing you want to look at is Astarion.
He completes a single revolution around you, and when he stops in front of you, and you beam down at him, he stares back in admiration, in adoration, in awe. Like you are the sun itself. Like you are the centre of his whole world.
How could you not have known?
“You love me?”
His eyes grow wide as those words fall out of you. It’s all surprise, at first. But then it is openness. Vulnerability. “Ah. So you saw it already, then?”
“Yes,” you murmur, afraid to make a wrong move lest you wake up from this dream before you hear those words you want to hear more than anything. “You love me?”
Silence. You panic, and you retreat, pulling back, looking away. “Not that you need to say it out loud, of course. Not if you don’t want t—”
“I love you.”
Your eyes snap back to his. You watch him draw nearer and nearer, and you feel his hands find their place at your hips, and you breathe in that nostalgic scent of bergamot and brandy.
“I love you,” he says again, and you are so happy you could cry.
You throw your arms around him, pulling him into a hug that feels like home. You needed this. You needed him. And, when his arms wrap back around you, you know that he needed you, too. Here, both of you are snug, and you are safe, and you are loved.
And though you know he must know it by now—that he must see it in your eyes and feel it in your embrace—you say it anyway. “I love you, too.”
You both pull back, but only a little, just enough to smile at each other.
“This time on my own,” he begins, “it has given me the chance to think about what I truly want. All of this,” he says, gesturing around the shop, “I may not have expected to end up in a life this domestic, but… I’m happy. Mostly happy, anyway.”
He pauses, and you tilt your head, waiting, wondering, hoping.
“I want more. I want a partner. And who better than the woman who stood by my side through everything? Who always treated me with kindness and understanding? Who I just so happen to utterly adore? I want you.”
Tears well in your eyes, and you are smiling so hard it hurts, but you are sure this is the happiest moment of your life. “Then I am yours.”
And then he cups your face in his hands and kisses you.
You melt into him, into his softness and his sensuality, into the comfort of his embrace and the heat of his touch. This is perfect. This is right. This is where you belong. You pour all of your affection into every press of your lips, willing him to feel your devotion, your desire, your love down to his very core. But, when you part your lips to meet his tongue, he breaks away.
You fear something will break inside you—but his reassuring grin steadies you.
“Just a quick moment, darling,” he says. “There is but one little thing I need to do.”
Astarion steps off the platform and heads towards the front of the shop. At first you are confused. And then you understand.
The bell rings.
The ‘open’ sign is flipped to ‘closed.’
The lock clicks in place.
And, tonight, the bell will ring no more.
Astarion locks the door and locks eyes with you.
You remember the day you met him as if it were yesterday. Little more than a beautiful stranger to you, back then, all elegance and ice. Even as your lover he felt unreachable, with you by midnight and gone by morning, no more real than a dream.
But now, as you gaze upon him, he is warmth, and he is sweetness, and he is truly, honestly himself. Mask off for you and only you.
Unbelievable, really, how far the two of you have come. And yet, with your whole heart, you believe it.
The man before you is your best friend. Your love. Your partner.
And tonight, together, you will take your first steps towards a life intertwined. Whatever that looks like.
And, gods, what does that look like? What comes next? Will he invite you into his arms? Into his home?
Into his bed?
The mere thought of it, you all wrapped up in him, sets your mind racing and your heartrate rising. There is a familiar hunger to his pretty eyes as he draws near, and you wonder if that rapid rhythm in your chest is still, to him, the irresistible siren song it once used to be. If he longs to taste your blood, your lips, your—
Oh, but you should not get too far ahead of yourself. He might not yet want what you so evidently crave. You must not forget that.
You can be patient. You will be patient. You will give him as much time as he needs.
Not that Astarion is making this easy for you. Certainly not with the way he grins his roguish grin, nor the way he wiggles his fingers as he reaches a hand to you, coaxing you down from the platform.
Maybe patience is not so necessary after all.
But surely there are important conversations to be had, which you very much want to have, and surely a night of sweet kisses and cuddles would be a good place to start, the perfect place to start, even, no matter how much you want to—
Oh. A hard pull, an audible gasp, and you are flush against Astarion. His intense stare is holding you in place just as much as his hands on your hips are.
“What’s that look for, my dear?”
“What look?”
“That mind-going-a-hundred-miles-a-minute look. We’re not overthinking now, are we?”
“No.” It's a weak attempt at denial, and you know it. “All right, maybe a little.”
“A little, she says? Just a little? Well, even if that were true, I’m afraid even a little is simply unacceptable, sweet love. Not when I’ve got you like this. Whatever shall I do with the likes of you?”
His hands shift upwards, every bit eager as they sweep along the curve of your waist, every bit assured as they cup your face. In his eyes you see your whole world spinning, and your mind continues its endless spinning along with it.
“Well, darling. I suppose then I’ll just have to kiss”—a brush of his lips—“you”—so plush and perfect against yours—“senseless.”
There is an urgency to the way he kisses you now, to how his tongue tastes and his teeth tease, and it makes you drunk with desire you have too long denied. You match his every insistent press against your lips, the need blooming between you escalating into a feverish frenzy. Your mind is indeed rendered senseless—but your body is awash with sensation.
His mouth leaves yours, leaves you breathless and boneless, but still wanting more. And more is exactly what he gives you as he kisses a trail along your jaw. To your neck, perhaps? No, to your ear, and you giggle when he nibbles at your lobe.
He whispers, "Come upstairs with me?"
As if there were any chance you would say no to him now. "Yes."
And yet he makes no moves to whisk you away. Instead he pulls you back into the blistering heat of his kiss, his apparent haste to have you making you doubt whether you will even make it up to his quarters at all. His every impatient touch has you envisioning how he might take you—bent over his worktable, or pushed against the dressing room wall, or laid out on the floor, anywhere, everywhere—until, oh, he is tugging loose the ties at your back.
It is all suddenly a bit too much. A bit too fast. A bit too real.
Is he actually truly ready for this?
Astarion instantly senses the change in you, moving back, but keeping close. And even though he is calm and composed, and gives you a kind smile, you cannot help but feel that this precious moment is in ruins, and the reason is you. "I'm sorry, I—"
"Oh, my love. Always so full of apologies even when there is no need for them. How about we go upstairs, make ourselves comfortable—change back into your everyday clothes first if that would suit you better—and we'll sit and have a chat, hm?"
You take a deep breath to steady yourself. "That sounds wonderful. Truly."
"Good," he says, nodding towards the dressing rooms. "Off you go, then. I'll be waiting right here."
You make your way inside, glancing at your flustered face in the mirror before you slip out of your gown, your worries creeping their way back into your frazzled mind.
Where did it all go wrong?
To connect through touch is something you want desperately. And, by now, you are almost entirely sure Astarion wants to share in that with you, too. But therein lies the problem: almost isn't enough, is it?
What if he is only doing this because he thinks it will please you?
And how can you be sure when you hardly know how to be sure of anything?
Part of you still feels ashamed for lusting over him, knowing all that you know. The other part of you just feels ridiculous—here you are, pulling on layer after layer of clothing, when every indication suggests he wants to get you naked before the night is through.
You analyze every moment you've shared tonight, searching for even the slightest of signs that this is all just a performance.
Yet you find none.
Maybe the best thing to do is to just trust him. Trust him to make his own choices, to decide his own limits, to navigate all of this together with you.
After all, if you are sure of only one thing in this world, it is that Astarion loves you.
You gather the hem of your dress into your hands one last time before you leave it behind, tracing over every line and every loop of his embroidered message, committing those beautiful words to memory. It is exactly what you need to bring a smile back to your face.
And, when you finally step out of the dressing room, Astarion matches that smile the moment he sees you.
The two of you walk hand in hand into the back room and up, up, up the stairs, your anxious anticipation growing with every single step you take.
"I'd tell you I'd give you the grand tour, but I'm afraid my home is far too humble for that," he remarks, and for the first time tonight, you notice a bit of a shake to his laughter, an irregular height to its pitch.
And here you thought that the only nervous one was you.
What if that means—
No, you'd better not worry what that means.
No matter what happens, you will be here for him as he is here for you.
You give his hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'm sure it's perfect. And I'd take a nice, cozy, humble home over a palace any day."
"I might not have always agreed with that sentiment, but now?" Reaching the door at the top of the stairs, he pauses long enough to smirk at you before twisting the knob. "I find that I do."
You step inside, taking in as much of the surrounding space as you can. The only light emanates from the fireplace, its flickering flames casting a sensual glow across the room. The open layout is typical of city merchants' quarters—no walls needlessly taking up the already limited space—a sitting area on one side, a small disused kitchen on the other. A pair of strategically placed dividers offers some sense of separation, and behind them—oh, yes, that is most definitely his bed.
Best not to linger too long on that thought.
Although you do make a mental note that it is big enough for two.
Taking both your hands in his this time, Astarion pulls you towards the loveseat in front of the fire, playfully pushing you into its comfy cushions and planting a single kiss upon your lips that you hope is a promise for many more.
He does not yet take his place at your side, however, instead lighting a candle on the coffee table—and it is then you study the scene before you.
A now-lit candle. A vase home to a single blush-pink rose. Two goblets and a bottle of your favourite red wine. A spread that is romantic. Meticulous. Premeditated.
You let out a chortle.
"What?" Astarion asks, eyes narrowed, but lips curved into an unmistakable smile.
"It's just so"—a bigger, brighter laugh bursts out of you—"so obvious."
"Obvious? Obvious?" He tosses his head to one side as he scoffs. "Are you really only realizing this now? Darling, I have been obvious this entire time. You, on the other hand, have been hopelessly oblivious."
And, in retrospect, you can admit that it's true what he says. The evidence was everywhere, even if you could not, would not, thought you should not believe any of it.
But you do now.
He settles next to you on the loveseat, warmth rushing to your cheeks at his sudden nearness. His fingers, cold to the touch though they are as they interlock with yours, do nothing to cool you. No, if anything, they have quite the opposite effect; the whole of you hot and molten beside him.
"Tell me, love," he begins, the purr in his voice and the mischief in his grin telling you he intends to use every ounce of his charisma to its fullest extent. "Should I have serenaded you with song? Recited to you a sonnet? Scattered a trail of rose petals from your door straight to my bed?"
"Maybe, though it's not too late," you suggest. "If you would like to regale me with music and poetry, I won't complain."
"Oh, my dear. I wouldn't be quite so sure of that. I am a man of many talents, yes, but I'm no bard. Although, if the result is hearing you laugh again, then it might still be worth a try."
You grin. "Then try."
Astarion clears his throat dramatically, and with his back tall and straight, and his nose held high in the air, he starts to speak.
You cannot even begin to take him seriously.
"Your skin so sweet and lips divine, / your blood the most delicious wine. / Each precious bite is my delight; / so let me make you mine tonight."
"You're ridiculous," you say—but you are indeed laughing.
"Why thank you, darling," he says, lowering his head in a mock bow. "Ridiculously eloquent, I hope? Or ridiculously charming? Ridiculously good-looking, at least?"
"Just ridiculous."
He gasps. "Oh, how you wound me. And here I was, professing my profound affection."
"It sounded more like you just want to eat me."
"Maybe I do want to eat you"—he leans in enticingly close—"in every sense of the word."
There is no mistaking his meaning now, is there?
You want this—you can feel it in pounding heart, and your weakened limbs, and your aching core—you want, you want, you want.
And yet you fear. Fear falling back into the dark depths of doubt, panic dragging you deeper, deeper, deeper down until you're drowning.
But you do not fall for it is Astarion's hands that keep you safe on solid ground.
"Oh, my sweet, lovely, darling girl."
And it is not only his hands, but his voice that soothes, and his eyes that blaze with such fierce certainty that you wonder how you could have ever failed to see just how much he cherishes you.
"Let me state the obvious because it seems obvious is what you need: I love you."
How new to your ears those words still are and yet you already think the sound of them sweeter than any song. You beam at him, because of course you do, and he beams right back, because of course he does, because this, this togetherness, is what you both want, what you both need, what you both deserve.
That look, so full of adoration, beckons you forward, and so you move in slowly, kiss him softly, hold him sweetly. He does the same, at first, an arm wrapping around your back, the opposite hand snaking its way down to cup your backside. Not that you resist. Nor do you resist when, unexpectedly, he pulls you hard against him, laughter bubbling out of you from the surprise and the clumsiness of it. And yet, here you are now in his lap, and here he is guiding your legs to straddle him, and it dawns upon you just how suggestive this new position is.
Even the slightest roll of your hips might have… well, quite the arousing effect.
Oh, he knows exactly what he's doing, the sneak.
And, if this is how he wants you, then that must mean—
"And," he says before you can finish the thought, "I want to explore anything and everything that loving you means."
Anything. Everything. Never have those two words sounded so sublime, his voice like velvet, his implication indisputable. Your imagination runs rampant, unlimited and unsuppressed, your mind opening itself fully to passion and possibility.
And you hope imagination will blossom into beautiful reality.
Astarion buries his face into your neck, peppering it with little kisses—maddeningly where you know he knows it tickles—revelling in every giggle he draws out of you. Vexing though it is, yes, the levity of it amuses you, calms your nerves.
You did, back in those early days, feel most ease with him whenever you would let yourselves be silly. You remember it well. Perhaps so does he.
And then—when tension fades, when you are limp and pliable in his arms—the mood shifts. Then, he kisses you where it doesn't tickle. Then, those sounds spilling out of you are decidedly not laughter.
His mouth moves to meet yours. A heady mixture of love and lust swirls about in your mind, and you succumb to it, to him, to every brush of his tongue and graze of his teeth. Almost embarrassing how little it takes to make you squirm about in his lap—but his body answers yours just as readily, the twitch of him against you leaving no doubt to his burgeoning desire.
This is really going to happen, isn't it?
"And"—you mourn the loss of his lips—"if all of this is somehow not obvious enough"—but his husky tone has you enraptured—"then let me be clear: I will not be satisfied tonight unless and until I've fucked you thoroughly."
Oh. You stare in stunned silence, mouth agape, as you process the filth you just heard: his lust stated so exquisitely explicitly that you long to press into the hardness you know you will find there, kiss him wildly, pleasure him endlessly.
And that, you decide, is exactly what you will do.
But your affection is too soft and too shy to plunge any deeper without testing the waters first. You kiss him once, then twice, then again and again and again, tentative touches turning tender then teasing as your courage grows. Astarion welcomes it all, wants more of it all, urging you to take this further in all the ways he can: pulling you closer, holding you tighter, kissing you harder. When at last your hips begin to undulate against his, he matches your rhythm, eager for you to feel the full length of him against your wet and wanting core.
With shaking hands you unfasten the singular clasp that had been holding his vest closed. That ever anxious part of you waits a moment for his objection, expects it, dreads it—but it doesn't come. Instead he only gives you his gentle encouragement.
"Go on, love. Undress me. Touch me."
You nod and you smile. Yes, there is anxiety in your anticipation, but so is there desire that drives you, and elation that thrills you, and such deep, overwhelming love for the man before you that how could you not want to devote yourself to pampering him?
Button by button you work your way down his shirt, exposing more and more of him until every fastening is undone. You examine the hard planes of his chest, first with eyes and then with hands, delighting in the way his smooth skin and firm muscle feel beneath your palms. He purrs his approval, rocking his hips against yours with such abandon that you curse your clothes for preventing him from pushing inside you.
Your fingers trail downwards, delicate but daring as they dance towards their destination. When at last you reach to undo his trousers, your eyes dart up to his, one last search for any sign he doesn't want this—but the look he gives you, part lust, part unwavering, undying trust, tells you what deep down you already know.
And it is all the permission you need.
Your attention returns to where he wants it to be. The sight of him, his arousal straining against fabric in his desperation for you, intensifies the throbbing between your own thighs. And so, with eager hands, you set him free.
You know his body well. Studied him with all of your senses. Learned how to glide and twist him into a whimpering mess with only a hand. And yet, practiced as you are in his pleasure, you cannot help the gasp that escapes your throat when you finally set eyes on his cock. To see him so riled and ready, to know it is all because of you—it fills you with awe, and with pride, and with overwhelming desire to put all you have learned to good use.
You start with a stroke of the hand, sliding up and sliding down his shaft, pulling the sweetest of sighs from his lips. Oh, how you love it when he is needy like this, hips moving in time with your every repeated motion. You keep touching him and teasing him, hand gliding up and down and up and down, thumb sweeping across the milky bead gathered at the tip.
But what you really want is a taste.
You lean forward for a kiss—only a fleeting peck, nothing more—and, if the way he huffs and pouts is any indication, it isn't enough. But you have quite a different use for your mouth in mind, don't you? You withdraw your hand, and he opens his mouth in protest, but no words come—for by now he is wide-eyed and mesmerized as you lick your thumb clean, savouring his salty taste. You lower yourself to your knees.
"May I?" you ask, smiling slyly up at him.
"Oh, my love. There are few sights so delightful as your lips wrapped around my cock."
His lewd words bring fresh heat to your cheeks, and he laughs.
"Hmm, I must say that flustered look of yours does have its appeal, too," he says, and you try to maintain your composure as you grab one of the little couch cushions, settling it comfortably beneath your knees. "Especially when it means you're imagining me inside you."
Oh, that unabashedly wicked, aggravatingly arrogant, adorably lovable man. The advantage might be his now, but he won't be the one holding it for long.
"And," he continues, growing more smug by the second, "come to think of it, there are many, many positions that suit you just as beautifully. Like when—"
The words die in his throat as you lick a languid stripe along his length, earning from him a low, pleasured groan. The sound pleases you immensely. But what a shame it would be if he were to leave his filthiest fantasies unspoken.
If he loves to tease you so, then why should you not do the same?
You run your tongue all over him: exploring every inch, tracing every vein, flicking against the tip, but never quite taking him into your mouth. When you have him whimpering the way you like, you pause just long enough to prompt him to say what he failed to before: "Like when…?"
"When— gods—"
Oh dear, it seems language is lost to him again the very moment your lips close around him. You bask in your triumph, sucking him and swishing him with your tongue, watching the way he watches you. And though at times his eyes flutter shut and his head falls back, his gaze always finds its way back to you.
You keep working him, using your hands to pump him and play with him as your mouth performs its magic, rediscovering all the little things that drive him wild. It feels good to make him feel good. It feels even better knowing how much he truly desires this.
"You want to know what I like best of all?" he manages, eventually, his tone dark and throaty; you hum your enthusiastic assent, and the vibration of it sends a shudder through him.
But the words he says send a shudder through you.
"The sight of you lying utterly helpless beneath me."
Oh. Well. You do love this—relishing his pleasure as you bob your head along his length—but you very much love that, too. You remember well how it felt. How letting him have his way with you could awaken either of his extremes. The vampire at his most feral, or the man underneath, a secret softness reserved only for you.
When all was done between you, you used to worry those tenderest moments were only part of his act. But maybe you were wrong.
Maybe they were always real.
"I've been thinking about you"—you ache more and more for your own satisfaction now though you never stop giving him his—"fantasizing about you ever since that night at the party. Wondering what it would be like to have you in my own bed."
And you know at once his bed is soon to be your destination when he leans forward to give you a gentle nudge. You still, letting him slide out of your mouth with a wet pop.
"And, my love," he whispers into your ear, "I intend to find out. Now."
Far be it from you to deny this beautiful man anything he wants.
Astarion rises to his feet, shrugging off his open shirt and pushing off his trousers. To see him like this, so gorgeously and gloriously nude, leaves you speechless.
"Well, darling?" he says, shamelessly eyeing you up and down. "I assure you you'll have much more fun without your clothes."
Needing no further encouragement, you start to disrobe—but your pace is found wanting and Astarion is all out of patience. He steps forward, tugging and tearing at your layers, eager for you to join him in his state of undress. Sure enough you hear a button clack against the floor, fallen victim to his reckless haste.
"Careful!" you insist, but really, you're more amused than annoyed.
Not to mention aroused.
"Oh, don't you worry, my dear. I'll fix that right up for you."
"You'd better."
"Of course. I'm your personal tailor for life now."
For life. This really is it for you, isn't it? You are his, and he is yours, and for however long you both walk this realm, you will spend your days and your nights together.
You wouldn't have it any other way. And neither would he.
When at last you are beaming and bare before him, Astarion takes a step back for a better look at you.
He stares.
And then he strikes.
You are swept into his arms, into his passion, barely conscious of anything but the feel of skin against skin and lips against lips—though it is abundantly clear he is a man on a mission. He pulls you along in his mad shuffle to reach the bed, sacrificing finesse to gain speed, unable to wait a second longer than necessary to have you.
And indeed he wastes no time in lifting you onto the mattress and pushing you flat on your back beneath him.
"Finally," he growls and he grins, and you're already there bucking on the bed before he has even touched you where you need him. "Finally I have you right where I want you. Right where you belong here in my bed. Right here with me."
The thought of this one day becoming your bed—your home—thrills you almost as much as his impatient touches do.
But, as eager as he is, he still recalls exactly how to excite you. Still gives ample attention to all those places most sensitive and secret. Still treats your body like his sanctuary—a sacred thing to be revered, to be relished, to be worshipped.
And, as he settles between your thighs, you know the pleasure he'll, oh, so willingly provide will be nothing short of divine.
He starts with a single lick—one long and languid glide along your slit—and already, all at once, it's too much, and it's not enough, and it's the most wonderfully perfect sensation you have ever known. It pulls from you a shake and a cry, and in turn, a soft laugh from him as he takes pride in his ability to please you. He licks you a second time, and then a third, and again, and again, until his tongue is lapping at you with a steady fervency.
The bliss he brings you is better than you remember. Countless times you tried to relive your memories—desperate to return to him, if only in daydreams—but your fingers always paled in comparison to the way his tongue dips inside your cunt and flicks against your clit.
Although maybe it is better than ever now that you know he loves you.
You grasp for his hand and he grabs it gladly.
And he certainly knows how to work you well. You writhe about, your moans mewling and wanton, your body wanting more, more, more. The pleasure you crave is close now. You glance at your lover—mussed up curls and pink-tipped ears, his attention focused wholly upon your undoing—and to know that Astarion is the one making you feel this way intensifies the heat coiling in your centre.
A little more is all it will take. You ready yourself for it, your grip tightening, your limbs trembling, your feet bracing against his shoulders. And, when he tongues you with the quick, precise flicks you like best, you yield, wave after wave of pleasure crashing into you. Astarion does not relent, continuing to devour you until you are thoroughly sated and spent.
You lie there, panting hard, basking in the pleasant tingle that still lingers in the aftermath of your orgasm. Gods, you haven't felt this good in ages. And, from the smug smile that begins to spread across his face, it seems he knows it, too.
"Well," Astarion says, licking his lips as he sits up. "You look positively wrecked, darling. And all because of me. You want more, don't you?"
Such self-satisfied bravado. Not that it stops your core from clenching at his suggestion. Nor do you deny him when he shifts over you, cock gliding along your swollen folds, ready to push inside.
Oh, you want more very, very badly.
And so you invite him in. "Yes."
Slowly Astarion sinks into your sex until he is buried to the hilt. A perfect fit. You did always take him exceptionally well. He pulls back, and pushes in, and pulls back, and pushes in, coaxing gasps and moans out of you, ensuring you feel each and every inch of him as he makes love to you.
And it is love, this time. Love that underlies the lust in his eyes. Love that fuels the languorous rhythm of his hips. Love that urges him to lavish you with little kisses.
You return his love in every way you can: touching, holding, caressing, kissing, enjoying all that is nostalgic and all that is new. You roll your hips. You cry his name. Surely the extent of your adoration is made abundantly clear—but, if by any chance all this isn't enough, you sing it out loud: "I love you!"
He lets out a laugh, a soft and elated little sound. "I love you, too."
But, for all his sweetness, so is there carnality, frantic and feral and finally free. He thrusts harder, moves faster, pours all of his passion into every motion he makes. Of course you are more than happy to allow him this indulgence. The addictive friction, the lewd noises of bodies colliding, the delight of being filled so completely—every intoxicating detail feeds that familiar heat building within you.
Sensing your impending release, Astarion lifts his head from where it had been nestled in your neck and draws back just far enough to reach a hand between your legs, rubbing circles into your clit with his thumb. You imagine you must be quite a sight—all shivering and squirming under him as you begin your surrender to bliss—but his stare is locked only upon your eyes.
And it is then that you lose yourself to the euphoria he gives you. Then, that your walls clench around him; then, that you let out a keening cry; then, that pleasure radiates from your core to every extremity of your body. And where you go, Astarion is quick to follow, groaning as he empties himself inside of you.
He collapses on top of you, and you pull him into a tight embrace, vowing you will never, ever let him go again.
You missed him so much. Love him so much. And, to be with him like this, so close and connected, makes you feel that all is finally right in this world.
A comfortable and contented silence falls between you.
Until it breaks.
"I wasn't entirely honest with you before."
His words hang heavy in the air as panic takes hold. What if this was too much, what if this was too fast, what if he did not want any of this at all?
But then, when you feel like you might never catch your breath again, he takes your face into his hands and grins devilishly. "What I really like best of all is that I can take a single glance at you and tell just hopelessly in love with me you are."
Oh, that infuriating and wonderful man.
"Don't scare me like that!" you say, scolding him. But, despite his foolishness—maybe because of his foolishness if you're really being honest with yourself—you lunge forward for a kiss. Then another. And another.
When your lips breaks apart, and his eyes are again heavy-lidded with lust, he makes his suggestion: "Perhaps I might… find some way to make it up to you?"
You think a moment. And then you grin. "Why, yes, I do happen to have one idea in mind. About the ball… be my plus one?"
He does not roll his eyes, nor does he complain of the tedium he'd have to endure, nor does he make any attempt at denying you. He answers only with a soft smile and a single word.
"Always."

co-worker!Kim Seungmin/noona!reader
WC: 4.1k RATING: fluff/smut contains: soft needy seungmin, sub!seungmin/dom!seungmin, lots of praise, nicknames (pup/puppy), teasing, unprotected sex COMMENT: I've been sitting on most of this story for a very long time, but I finally decided to find a nice ending to this part (though not the entire thing). Part two was posted over a year ago. I’m sorry it took so long 😭
part one part two MASTERLIST
The muffled sounds coming from the break room carry all the way to where you stand, right outside the bathroom door. You recognize Seungmin’s voice, of course, and Changbin’s, but it’s a little more high pitched than usual—his laugh is probably reaching the front of the store. A few more people are in there, too...likely the entirety of Changbin’s jerk friend group. You can’t make out what they’re talking about, though.
You jump when your senior manager clicks the bathroom door open.
“God, they can be obnoxious,” she says, and rolls her eyes as she walks by. But then she stops and turns on her heel. “How have you been doing? Getting along with everyone?”
It’s the first time since you’ve started that anyone cared to ask. Aside from Seungmin. “Yes, everything is fine. Everyone has been helpful when I needed them.”
“Good. I…well, we probably shouldn’t talk here, but, I did notice you’ve been spending a lot of time around one employee in particular.”
Your heart races. Of course, it’s obvious. This was bound to happen. You’ve been careless for the most part, and it’s likely someone saw you grab his ass earlier. Now you get to start looking for a new job. “I am?” Feigning stupidity might work.
“I don’t like spreading rumors, even if maybe they're not rumors, but he seems to have a bit of a reputation around here. I don’t want anyone to think something is happening between manager and employee, because one of you would suffer. Maybe both of you.”
Well, at least she gets right to the point.
“Sorry, but are we both talking about Min…uh, Seungmin? Kim Seungmin?”
“Yes. The quiet, innocent looking one.”
You smile without realizing it, thinking about his sweet, handsome face, but quickly correct yourself when she gives you a look.
“He’s apparently gone after his female coworkers…customers. Don’t misunderstand, he is great at his job and he’s reliable as hell, but he doesn’t seem to know how to stop when it comes to flirting and chasing. He’s a…well…” her head moves like a metronome as she thinks.
“Slut?”
A nod and a smile, then she’s gone, and you’re left thinking of poor Seungmin and the reputation he accidentally made for himself. All because of his stupid friends. At least that’s what you hope. There’s always the possibility that Seungmin did lie about his experience, and his reputation is actually real, but you don’t think so. You took him home with every intention of sleeping with him, and he knows that, slut or not. There was no reason for him to make up a story this morning.
The breakroom door opens and clicks shut, and a moment later, Seungmin is coming around the corner. Head down, hair in his eyes…he doesn’t even see you until you throw a soft pup at him.
He stops immediately and smiles at you.
“Everything okay? You look distracted.”
“I’m okay, just…tired I guess.”
“It’s alright if you cancel on me, I’ll understand.
Seungmin shakes his head, “I’ll meet you across the street in...” he looks at his phone, “one hour.”
・ ⠄⠂⋆ ・ ⠄
You were extra careful and extra paranoid for that last hour, eyes constantly moving between where Seungmin was in relation to the other manager. He was good, though, and he kept his distance. He has a big smile and a coffee waiting you when you finally make it to him.
“Do we know anybody in here right now?”
“What’s wrong?” Seungmin looks around, “no, I don’t recognize anyone from work.”
You bend down and place a kiss on his lips. It’s much too romantic, which you didn’t intend, but you did need to kiss him as soon as you walked through the door. Seungmin kisses back, so softly and sweetly that it doesn’t belong out in public, around prying eyes. Your head swims and your body aches with need, but you somehow pull away.
“I think we’re getting dirty looks,” Seungmin blushes and keeps his eyes on yours.
“We should take it somewhere else.”
・ ⠄⠂⋆ ・ ⠄
Seungmin is excited and chatty on the ride to his apartment, and luckily he still isn’t too concerned with the reputation he mistakenly made for himself, “if it doesn’t get me fired, it’s okay. And if it does, that just means we can, uhm…” he didn’t finish that thought, but you could figure it out on your own. You think.
He’s quiet on the ride back, but when you’re almost home, he reaches out and sets his hand over yours. It’s a romantic gesture to match the kiss from earlier, and you find yourself enjoying it more than you’d like. As sweet as Seungmin is, and as enamored he obviously is with you, jumping in feet first the way you keep imagining is still difficult.
“Seungmin?”
The jump of his hand makes your stomach drop, because you think he’s pulling away. But he doesn’t. And then he does, just a little. “Yeah?”
“Minnie…uh, uhm…” You had the words, and now they’re slowly falling apart in your head. You have a chance to look at him—the smile on his face is hesitant, and when he bites down on his lip, it drops completely. “Nothing, it’s nothing.” You can’t stand the unsure look on his face, so you reach for his hand again and squeeze, and you hope his smile comes back when you have to turn away. “What are you hungry for?”
"I'm not picky."
You can’t tell from his voice. “Whatever you’d like. What’s your favorite?”
“Kimchi stew. Is that too boring?”
“Boring? No, not at all. We’ll have that, and something sweet if you’d like.”
He laughs, and it’s music to your ears. “Yes, sweet is always good.
・ ⠄⠂⋆ ・ ⠄
Seungmin sits on the far side of the couch with a shy smile on his face—patient and quiet, shoulders slumped a little. He looks small sitting there, but he’s not, and he looks shy tonight, but you don’t think that’s what it is. Seungmin is hiding a lot behind his soft exterior. You wonder if his friends bothered him today, or if Changbin continued teasing about the marks he left n your neck. The senior manager not noticing them (or just not mentioning it) is surprising. But who knows...maybe that influenced her little meeting with you today.
It was you that got things started last night, and you’re thinking that might be the case again tonight, which is fine—you like it like that, that’s how you usually do things. But he also took control a few times, and you liked that as well. Part of you wants him to initiate and take over again, but the other part, the one that’s hungry for him and craving dominance, is going to win soon.
“Seungmin?”
“Hm?” He perks up and lets his smile spread across his face, “yeah?”
Instead of starting anything, you get up and walk toward the bedroom. How you forgot this, you’re not sure, but a vision of the little black box sitting on the edge of your bed popped up just in time. The sound of slow footsteps follows behind you, luckily. You don’t have to call him in, and you don’t have to start things on the couch.
“Wow…this is nice,” he leans against the door jamb and watches, looks around your not-so-spacious bedroom. “Big bed, looks very, very comfortable.”
“Come sit”
Not only does he listen to you, but he goes for it and touches your hip. Both hands grab softy and pull until his lips graze against your shirt, and you get butterflies—of course you get butterflies. Seungmin has you on your knees and he doesn't even realize it. You run a hand down the back of his head and to his neck, squeeze, get a content groan out of him.
“I hope you like it”
You really do hope he likes it, because you paid extra to have it made just the way you envisioned it: deep red leather, gold chain looped across the middle. Hanging off the chain is a small, heart shaped tag. You pull it out and Seungmin squeezes tighter when he sees it, and he reaches for it.
“Oh…can I?”
His fingers run across the soft leather, pull a little on the chain to see how it tightens. Then he goes for the buckle.
“I’ll do that,” you tell him as you undo it and examine his pretty neck, then wrap it around him. His skin is warm—he was cold before, so you turned the heat up; probably too much, but he hasn’t complained. “Is it too warm in here, Minnie?”
“No, it’s nice.” Seungmin reaches back and stops you from slipping it under the buckle. “I think we…” he squeezes, “we should use this next time.”
“Next time?”
Seungmin stands and gently pulls it away, sets it back in its box, then returns to you with a look so heavy, you finally get it. You weren’t expecting this, even though you wanted it, so you wait for his next move. And his next move is a kiss to rival the sweet, slow coffee shop kiss, but his hands close around your neck and his fingers move gently against the nape of your neck. You think he might squeeze a little harder, but he doesn’t—Minnie isn’t there yet, and you know that.
“You don’t wanna be my pup tonight?”
Hands slide down your back, and Seungmin pulls you tight against him. He’s hard, and his cock pushes gently against your stomach.
“I’m always your pup, I hope”
“You are…”
You’re pulled down with him as he sits again, straddling his slender thighs, barely covered by the shorts he changed into. He leans back and watches you look, touch, tug at his shirt until your hands can slide underneath and push it up. And he just sits there and takes it. When you lean in and kiss across his chest, he sighs and falls onto his back, but bucks his hips up to get your attention; to make sure you know where he wants you.
Maybe he will submit, put the collar on, do what you tell him.
“Hey,” Seungmin grabs the back of your neck and holds you steady.
“Hey…” you watch him. He’s thinking—figuring out exactly what he wants, and you’re patient. “I’m all yours.”
Maybe some more encouragement will get him going. You slide your hand down and tuck your fingers beneath his waistband, just short of reaching him. He thrusts up just enough to get to you, and he’s so relieved to feel your touch, he laughs as he moans.
“Let me take care of you, Minnie.” You give in and stroke him as his hips continue to move, “please, pup.”
“No, no…” His hands squeeze your hips. He easily pulls you off of him and flat onto your back. “It’s my turn. Get on your stomach.”
The pounding in your chest is partly the excitement of the moment, but mostly not being prepared for the sharp, brusque sound in his voice. You listen and roll onto your stomach. He pulls down, freeing you of your underwear, and his fingers knead hard into your ass. It’s impossible not to push back against him and get onto your knees, and Seungmin doesn’t seem to mind. He stops for a moment, and you think he might speak. He almost does. Instead, a soft laugh comes out as he strips, positions himself, and you jump when he runs a slow finger from the small of your back to your cunt.
Now you laugh at yourself, and Seungmin giggles again.
“Is that a no touch zone?”
“You can touch wherever you want.”
The sound and feel of him pushing two fingers so smoothly into you makes you whimper, and you find yourself wanting to beg, or encourage…you’re unsure. But he pulls out quickly and slides his wet fingers to your clit. “Minnie…ah,” you whine and spread yourself open even more, “please.”
“You want it?”
His voice is somehow deeper, quieter. So far so good. But maybe he has…no, you shake the thought away. “I want you…”
No response, just his hands spreading you open and coming down to kiss and bite the skin of your hip, then your thigh. He keeps going until his tongue can slide over your cunt, and he licks up the mess his fingers made.
The begging is in your head, please, please… and then it comes out muffled by the sheets, stuffed in your mouth as he wraps his hand around the back of your neck. All of his weight is pushing you down. His cock slides over you and it drives you crazy.
“Seungmin, please”
“Please…please,” he mutters, but he doesn’t tease. He guides himself over your entrance and pushes gently, slides in slowly…out, in, and you know it makes him a little weak in the knees.
But his pace quickens and his thrusts push you down and into the bed even more, forcing you to grip the sheets for some leverage. You look back and catch his gaze—his face is soft and his smile grows as you look at him. Still a puppy.
“I like this,” he sighs and holds your hips tight as he fucks you, but he slows down to reserve himself, to keep going as long as possible. “I…fuck.”
The stutter of his movements, the force of his thrusts when he gets back into the moment, it hits just right. His size stretches you just right, and it feels too good in this position. You lift yourself and push back into his hips, and Seungmin lets you do it a few times before abruptly pulling himself out and leaving you there. “Minnie…no, no.”
It’s quiet, and you can’t see him in the nearly dark room. You don’t get up, though, because you need him to come back, and if he wants to do well for you, he won’t.
“Minnie?”
The bed shifts. He’s there, just watching and waiting.
“Please pup, I’ll do anything you want…please fuck me”
“Yeah?”
The sweetness in his voice is back, but he still doesn’t return. You stick your ass up even higher, turn your head to the opposite side to search, and there he is. Seungmin is watching you, sitting back, completely relaxed as he strokes himself.
“Anything”
“Turn onto your back”
It feels good to stretch out like this, but straightening your back and falling limp onto the bed is even better. “Yes sir.” But he still just stares at you.
“Sir?”
“Mmm…sir…pup”
“Are you teasing me? He tilts his head to one side and crawls closer. “Open up.”
“No, I wouldn’t.” One leg falls open, and then the other.
“I think you are teasing,” his mouth closes around your clit and licks hard, sucks, waits for you to moan, and then he pulls back. “I don’t like being teased.”
“I’m sorry, I’m not teasing…promise.”
But you close your legs, and Seungmin gives you puppy eyes. You can’t help yourself—not being in control of him is harder than you thought it would be. Your legs slowly fall back open. “Promise, Minnie. Please come back.”
He crawls back to you; on top of you, kissing his way up, pulling at your bra and somehow, successfully undoing it. Seungmin kisses softly—long, messy, and wet, tongue pushing in and fighting yours. He loves kissing, and he’s good at it.
“I’m sorry pup, I need you”
“I could just leave you like this, wanting more”
“I’ll be good for you”
“Promise again.” The lightness in his voice contradicts the grip on your thighs as he pulls them apart.
“Promise…I promise”
Your pleading works, and he lifts your hips to his. “That’s better,” he coos, and watches himself slide in so slowly, “much better,” he groans as he pulls out, and his eyes move to yours.
A smile twitches at the corner of his lips, and he can’t help but move faster, and faster. The bed moves with every hard thrust into you, and looking at him like this is so much better. Seeing his face, so full of pleasure, so blissful and so dazed. “Minnie…” you say it desperately between your shallow panting, “Minnie you feel so…aah…”
The smile wins, and it grows with each roll into your hips. “You gonna come for me?” He moves his thumb up and down, touching everywhere he can, and he pulls your hips up until you can wrap your legs around him.
“Spit on me”
“Hmm?” His head tilts innocently to one side again, but he hears you, because he does it, and he rubs it into your clit in fast, soft circles. It’s perfect—his touch, his cock stretching you to your limit. You let it work through you, and you make sure Seungmin knows.
“That’s good…one down.” He slows himself, but keeps going until he’s sure you’ve gotten through it, and when you finally relax and barely catch your breath, his starts again.
Slow and deep, then steadily faster. He’s gripping you and holding so tight and firm, but you’re just a toy for him…finally—you imagined him fucking you like this, daydreamed about it as you walked the aisles at work. His eyes turn glassy and stay fixed on his cock being swallowed over and over, and he holds it together so much longer than you expect. His breathing becomes shallow, and soft whimpers sneak out with each exhale.
“Harder harder, god…I’m gonna come”
“Mm…again?” Seungmin smiles.
You nod and grab his hand, but you don’t have to tell him what to do. As soon as his thumb touches your clit, another orgasm rips through you. His long, drawn out moan turns into a giddy laugh as he follows behind and fills you up.
Thighs tremble, yours and his, as he pulls himself out.
“Fuck”
“Yeah,” he sighs and falls down next to you, laughs again, and pushes his face into your pillow.
It’s quiet for a moment, until the wind picks up outside and pushes against the window. The curtains move a little, and the dim light outside shifts across the bed. Seungmin looks pretty all spread out across the blankets, out of breath and damp with sweat. You roll over until you can run a hand down his back, and gently squeeze his ass.
“You worn out already?”
“Oh, no no. I just need,” he turns his head to find you, “ten minutes.”
“How about five?”
“Five?” He turns a little more and watches you crawl to the edge of the bed and reach, “five minutes,” flips onto his back and closes his eyes, but he feels you come back, and then he feels your hands sliding up his leg, over his knee, his thigh.
Your lips press against his hip, leaving loud, wet kisses all the way up until you reach his throat. “Four.”
Seungmin groans, his eyes open slowly as your thighs press into his sides, and your hands wrap around his neck. He feels the soft, warm leather press against his skin as you buckle it.
“How does that feel?”
He moves his head side to side and swallows. “No bell?”
“You get a bell if you’re a good pup.”
“So I do have a bell?” Proud of himself, and you haven’t even started. He beams up at you and cautiously runs a finger across the chain on his throat. “Feels nice.”
“Good boy. You can have your ten minutes.”
Seungmin meant it when he said he was tired. He slowly dozes off, but the smile on his face sticks. He looks cute when he’s sleeping, arms crossed over his stomach, fingers twitching. The collar looks good against his warm skin, and keeping your hands off of him is more difficult with each passing minute. Ten minutes go by, and then eleven, but instead of waking him, you lie down and wait.
Fifteen minutes, and then twenty…eventually, his eyes flutter open on their own, and he looks at you. “Did I fall asleep? I’m sorry.”
“You did, sleepyhead. How do you feel?”
His fingers close around his chain again, and he pulls until it’s snug around his throat. “Good.” Seungmin keeps his hands off when you straddle him, but he bucks his hips up on purpose. The sight of his cum slowly dripping from you makes his cock twitch, and he whines when he remembers he can’t take over this time.
It’s your turn. You push down and slide yourself onto is new erection. Twenty minutes of rest was plenty for him—his tip is already leaking pre-cum for you, and all you can think about is him filling you up again. He obeys when you tug at his collar; props himself up on his elbows, and licks his lips. He slips in so easily, and makes the sweetest sound when you grind your hips into his. “Good boy, give me a little bit…”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah”
Seungmin groans when the collar tightens. His mouth hangs open, and his tongue pokes out as he grinds back, just enough. Your body starts to shake from the pleasure he’s giving you. “So…fuck,” your breath gets caught in your throat, and you let it out in a whimper. “My sweet puppy, you feel so…”
He bites his lip and smirks. Seungmin wants more of your praise. He likes it like this—you on top, his cum leaking as his cock stretches you more and more; the sound of how slick and tight you are around him. Your grip is driving him crazy, but he can last as long as you’re controlling the pace.
“How do you feel, pup?”
“So good…please don’t stop”
“Mmm, we could stay like this all night, but I want to drain you, over and over.” His eyes roll back when you grip his shoulders and pick up your pace. Seungmin’s hips relax. He doesn’t want to come yet no matter how much you want him to, and a tighter pull on his leash doesn’t make him obey. “Fuck me.”
His face turns soft and the puppy eyes come out. “Please.”
“I’m gonna wear you out. Up.” This time, the tug on his collar works. He props himself up on his palms for more leverage, and he whines when he thrusts into you. “Good…good boy.”
“I’m a good boy.”
“You’re mine.”
“I am…”
Another tug, and your lips graze his. This might send him over the edge. Seungmin can’t help but latch onto your mouth and kiss, messy and loud. “What do good boys do for me?”
His timing is perfect. The shake and stutter of his body, and the twitch of his cock as he empties into you puts him on his back again. Muscles in his stomach tighten and relax as he catches his breath, and eventually, he finds the strength to latch onto your thighs and squeeze. “I’m hungry.”
・ ⠄⠂⋆ ・ ⠄
After dinner, Seungmin is sleepy all over again. He doesn’t realize when he opens his eyes to yours that it’s after a long nap, because as soon as his body hit the bed, he was powerless against it. And you let him sleep.
“Hey,” he looks around the dark room, feels for you next to him, and he knows the soft mound he squeezes is you when you squeal. “Sorry, how long was I asleep?”
“About an hour.”
“Was that your ass?”
“Yeah, do it again.”
It tickles, and he likes the laugh he gets from you, so Seungmin crawls closer and does it a third time before moving upward and squeezing your hips, and waist.
You flip onto your back, and you can just make him out in the darkness as he hovers over you. “Are you still tired?”
He shrugs.
“I’ll take that as a yes…c’mere.”
Seungmin doesn’t hesitate. He comes down, buries his face in your neck, and slowly kisses his way up to your mouth. Lazy and wet, across your cheek and back down to your shoulder, his teeth graze over your ribs, and that tickles, too. He laughs when you do. “What if we just slept in all morning and missed work?”
“Both of us call off? Might seem suspicious…but—“
He pops up and stares down at you, “but?”
“One of the other managers noticed how often we’re together.”
“I bet I know which one.”
“Tall, ponytail…glasses that don’t suit her?”
Seungmin nods and mhm’s into another kiss. “I turned her down a few months ago, told her it wouldn’t look good if anyone found out. But I just wasn’t interested.”
“What makes me so special?”
“Is it bad that I…don’t know the answer to that?” The relief on his face cuts through the dark when you shake your head. Seungmin’s body relaxes even more. “You are, though. Special.”
“I’ll call off now, you call off in the morning. Maybe it won’t be as suspicious.”

The ceremony had been intimate and tearful, but the reception was something else entirely—warm, joyful, a little chaotic in the best way, and filled with the kind of love that made your chest ache like it might crack open just to let all the feeling out.
The venue had been transformed into a soft-lit dream. Twinkling fairy lights were strung along the beams , candles flickered from every table, casting golden halos that danced across champagne glasses and flushed cheeks.
You and Agatha barely made it through the double doors of the reception space before being swarmed. Hugs came in all directions, congratulations tumbling over one another, and someone’s lipstick smudging your cheek while another guest handed you a flute of champagne you didn’t remember asking for.
Agatha just laughed, gracious but slightly wicked. You didn’t miss the small smirk that played on her lips as she whispered something scandalous into your ear, barely loud enough for you to hear but enough to make your breath catch and your cheeks flush.
Alice was already halfway through a bottle of wine by then gleefully weaving through the crowd and announcing to anyone who’d listen that she’d called this wedding a year ago—“A year ago!” she insisted, holding up one finger like a professor lecturing a distracted class.
Jen followed after her with a wine glass of her own and an apologetic smile, mouthing “Sorry” behind her partner’s back every time Alice started a new version of the same story with increasingly dramatic flair. You could only laugh, touched by the chaos, warmed by the presence of people who had rooted for you both from the very beginning, even if neither of you did.
But through it all—through the noise, the dancing, the heartfelt speeches and laughter so bright it made your ribs hurt, you and Agatha never separated. Not once.
Her hand found yours at every moment, fingers brushing, pinkies linked beneath the table, palms pressed together during the toasts. Even when you were drawn into separate conversations, she was there—her gaze steady across the room, always returning to you, as if tethered by something invisible and unshakable.
At one point, you found yourself in a quiet corner with a glass of something sweet and fizzy, and she found you like she always did. No fanfare. No words. Just her sliding in beside you, taking your free hand and lifting it to her lips as if the whole world didn’t matter—like everything that came before this moment had only been a prelude.
The DJ cleared his throat, tapping the mic once. Then your name rang out across the glowing reception hall, and the low hum of chatter quieted as the lights dimmed, casting everything in a golden wash.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” he called, his voice smooth and ceremonial, “may I present—for the very first time. Our newlyweds for their first dance.”
A wave of applause rolled over the room, and you turned instinctively toward Agatha, already having your hand in hers. Her fingers laced through yours with the ease of someone who’d done it a thousand times before and would do it a thousand more.
She looked impossibly breathtaking in the warm light—her dark hair pinned back in elegant waves, the lace of her tux catching just enough shimmer to make her look almost unreal. But it was her eyes that made you breathless—soft, reverent, like she was seeing something sacred.
“I warned you I can’t properly dance” you murmured nervously as she began to lead you toward the center of the floor.
Agatha’s mouth curved into that sly, practiced smirk she always wore when she knew exactly what she was doing. “Good thing you married someone who can,” she whispered back, pulling you gently into place.
The music began—low and lilting, the kind of song that wrapped around you like silk. A soft piano, a cello humming underneath, and a swell of strings that carried just enough emotion to make your heart flutter.
Your hand found her shoulder. Her hand slid confidently to your waist, fingers curling just firmly enough to ground you. And then the world dimmed around the edges. It was just you and her.
Agatha moved like water—fluid, intentional as she guided you into each step with a grace that made it feel like you’d been dancing together for years. You tried not to overthink it, tried to remember where your feet were supposed to go, but then she spun you with a subtle flick of her wrist, catching you on the other side with a low chuckle.
“Relax,” she said softly, her voice like warm wine. “You’re doing beautifully.”
You let out a breath and met her gaze—and everything else faded. The guests, the lights, even the music, for a moment. It was just her eyes, steady and sure, holding yours like a promise she meant to keep.
You stepped on her foot once, and she laughed—genuinely, not mockingly, the sound of it melting the heat of embarrassment from your cheeks. “Still beautiful,” she said, and twirled you again. She twirled you often, actually, like she couldn’t resist the sight of you spinning just for her. The room blurred each time, your heart tripping over itself in time with the beat.
And still, she never let you go. “Tell me something,” you said under your breath, as she pulled you in again, her hand brushing the small of your back.
“Anything,” she murmured.
“Did you ever think we’d honestly get here? To this moment?”
Agatha’s smile softened, losing its sharpness. Her brow furrowed, just slightly, like the question was too big to answer all at once. Her hand moved up to cradle your jaw as they swayed, and for a second, she looked at you like she was searching for the right words and finding nothing quite enough.
“I hoped…” she said finally. “But I didn’t dare believe it. Not until I saw you walking toward me today.”
Your breath caught, and your steps faltered for just a second—but she steadied you, holding you like she always had. Like she always would. And then the music shifted. The swell came, one last rise in the melody, one final crescendo. Agatha’s hand pressed gently at your back as she guided you into one last spin, more fluid than the rest, and then—a dip.
She leaned you back in a graceful arc, one arm around your waist, the other still clasping your hand in hers as you tilted into her. The crowd let out a collective sigh, a few gasps of awe, someone clapping early, but you barely noticed.
Because her eyes never left yours.
Because your heart was in your throat.
Because Agatha Harkness was holding you like you were her greatest triumph. She pulled you upright slowly, savoring the moment, then leaned in until her forehead touched yours. The applause grew louder, warm and full, echoing across the walls—yet it sounded far away.
Her lips brushed your ear, her breath soft and trembling just slightly. “I’ve never been this happy,” she whispered, barely audible over the sound of your heartbeat. You closed your eyes. Let it settle in your chest. Let it tether itself to every part of you.
The rest of the night blurred into something golden and untouchable—laughter rippling like wind, soft music floating above clinking glasses, plates passed around like offerings, and too many toasts to count. Every time someone raised their glass, it was followed by cheers, applause, or someone shouting your names from across the room with barely-contained joy.
You and Agatha still never strayed too far from each other. She always found your hand, your shoulder, the small of your back. You fed each other bites of everything—her slicing into the grilled vegetables with precision and sliding a piece onto your plate, you returning the favor with a forkful of pasta. A kiss followed here, a touch there, her thumb brushing crumbs from the corner of your mouth. The two of you orbiting one another in a way that didn’t just feel romantic but it felt inevitable.
At one point, you found yourselves tucked into your seats as another toast wrapped up, champagne glasses still half full, the flicker of candlelight casting soft shadows across Agatha’s cheekbone. Alice leaned across the table, her elbow knocking over a napkin holder, and squinted at you both like you were breaking some unspoken rule.
“Do you two ever separate?” she asked, incredulous.
Agatha didn’t even look at her. “Nope” she said, smoothly, as she reached over, grabbed your hand, and tugged it firmly into her lap. “Why would we?”
Alice groaned, dramatically leaning back in her chair and draping a hand over her eyes. “Disgusting. You’re like—an extremely affectionate parasite.”
Jen grinned, sipping her wine without missing a beat. “It romantic. Don’t let her get to you.”
You laughed, head tilting as you leaned against Agatha’s shoulder, letting your voice drop into something quieter, more intimate. “Let them be jealous. They don’t get to go home with you.”
Agatha hummed, her smile low and secret as she brushed her lips against your temple. “Their loss.”
Later in the night, when the party had thinned slightly and the music slowed to something dreamy and faraway, you found yourself nestled in Agatha’s lap at one of the candlelit tables.
Her arms wrapped lazily around your waist, her chin resting on your shoulder, the two of you rocking slightly in time with the music despite not being on the dance floor.
You leaned into her without a second thought, your cheek brushing against hers. The atmosphere buzzed gently around you. Clinking glasses, bursts of laughter, the occasional cheer—but here, in her arms, everything quieted.
She fed you slow, deliberate bites of cake from her fork, pausing between each one to savor the look on your face. The frosting lingered sweetly on your lips until her thumb brushed it away.
“You didn’t even like this flavor during the tasting,” she murmured, her tone suspicious, her brow lifting just enough to tease.
You smiled and played coy, glancing at her from beneath your lashes. “Well…I changed my mind.”
Agatha made a disbelieving noise under her breath, but her smile gave her away. Her hand slid up your back, fingertips tracing up your spine. Then, her eyes shifted. The warmth in her body cooled by something else—something heavier. You turned to follow her gaze, Nicholas.
Spinning clumsily on the dance floor, his tie crooked and his little tux jacket tossed carelessly over a chair somewhere. His cheeks were flushed, hair messy, limbs moving with the kind of unfiltered joy only children could summon. And dancing with him—was Rio.
She had discarded her heels and was holding Nicholas’ hands as he twirled in small circles, giggling too loud for the music. Her smile was soft. Measured. Not her usual sly smirk or condescending tilt of the head. This one… was careful. Real. And it didn’t seem performative, not like before.
She wasn’t trying to pull focus. Wasn’t commanding the room. In fact, she had been almost invisible all evening—quiet, distant, like someone who knew they had already missed their moment. “She showed up late,” you murmured, your voice threading low and careful between you. “I don’t think she was at the ceremony.”
Agatha’s jaw ticked. You felt it against your back—the way her arms stiffened slightly around you, then slowly relaxed again. Always composed, always trying to stay above it. But the tension didn’t lie.
You reached for her hand where it rested on your waist, brushing your thumb over her knuckles, grounding her. “It doesn’t matter,” you whispered, tilting your head so your lips grazed just beneath her ear. “She missed the best part.”
Agatha let out a breath—a small, amused huff that sounded more like a release of pressure than anything else. “Damn right she did,” she murmured, pulling you closer. “You were radiant.”
“You cried,” you teased gently.
She scoffed. “I got something in my eye.”
“Uh-huh.” You mocked smiling, your heart full in a way that felt unreal—like it was too much to fit in your chest all at once. And as you sat there in her lap, the two of you watching your son dance under the soft glow of fairy lights and candlelight, everything felt perfect.
Nicholas came tearing across the dance floor moments later like a whirlwind of joy, his little shoes half off, one sock slouching around his ankle, the other completely missing. His face was flushed with excitement, cheeks glowing pink under the lights, and his hair stuck out in every direction like he’d been rolling through a field instead of dancing.
“Can we dance now?” he asked breathlessly, eyes wide, practically vibrating with hope. “All of us? Together?” You turned instinctively to Agatha, whose brows lifted with amusement and affection all at once. She tilted her head toward you, smirking just a little.
“You up for one more?” she asked, though her hand was already reaching for yours.
You grinned, feeling your heart pull warm and sure in your chest. “Always.”
Nicholas didn’t wait for permission. He squeezed between the two of you with all the subtlety of a six-year-old high on sugar and adrenaline. He grabbed each of your hands—yours in his right, Agatha’s in his left—and beamed up at you like this was the best idea he’d ever had before dragging you both out to the floor.
The music swelled again, soft and playful, and under the glow of twinkling lights and the low hum of laughter around you, the three of you danced. If it could be called that.
Nicholas led the way with chaotic abandon, swinging your hands and dragging you into uncompleted spins. Agatha laughed aloud when he nearly pulled you both off balance, but she didn’t let go. Instead, she followed his rhythm—such as it was, with surprising grace, matching his energy beat for beat even as she shot you an amused look over the top of his head.
“Is this a dance or a battle?” she teased, breathless from laughter as Nicholas spun in a circle so quickly he nearly toppled.
“A battle,” you laughed back. “And he’s definitely winning.”
Nicholas only giggled harder, letting out a triumphant yell as he twirled between you, his little hands tight in yours. For a moment, it was all momentum and music and joy so loud it made your chest ache. The world had narrowed again—not into silence this time, but into something louder, fuller. Into this little mess of limbs and laughter and light.
It was messy, It was loud. It was barefoot and chaotic and completely off-beat, And it was perfect. You caught Agatha’s gaze over Nicholas’ head again—and the look she gave you… it rooted you in place even as you moved. Something about the way she was watching you, her lips parted, eyes soft and brimming with emotion.
Something unspoken passed between you—something ancient and deep, like you’d both been waiting your whole lives for this exact moment without knowing it. She mouthed, Thank you. You didn’t ask for what. You already knew.
By the end of the night, most of the guests had either trickled out into the quiet evening or collapsed into chairs scattered around the reception space, their shoes kicked off and bow ties loosened, laughing over melting desserts and sipping the last of their drinks. The music had slowed to a soft instrumental hum, more background than centerpiece now, just enough to keep the magic lingering in the air.
You were curled up in Agatha’s lap again, your heels long since abandoned somewhere under a table, your legs draped across hers, your head resting against her chest. Her arms were warm and heavy around you, one hand gently rubbing slow circles against your outer thigh, the other lazily brushing through your hair, slowly removing pins. Her heart beat steadily beneath your cheek, and you could’ve stayed there forever—wrapped in candlelight, in the remnants of laughter, in her.
Then afterwards tossing the final piece onto the table, she leaned down and pressed a kiss to your temple, her lips lingering for a moment longer than necessary. “We’re leaving,” she murmured against your skin.
You blinked, slowly turning your face toward her. “Now?”
Agatha didn’t answer with words. Instead, she slipped you off hep lap and stood—graceful and unhurried, yet somehow full of purpose. She pulled you easily along with her, hand sliding into yours before you could form a coherent protest. You stumbled a step, disoriented but amused. She gave you that look.
The one that had undone you more times than you could count. Mischief softened by affection. Patience thinned by want. Her brow raised, a single dark arch daring you to challenge her. You didn’t.
You sighed, smiling despite yourself. “Okay, fine. But I didn’t get my third slice of cake.”
“You’ll survive,” she said, already guiding you through the dwindling crowd, nodding politely at the few people who still lingered with sleepy grins.
The night air kissed your skin the moment the doors opened, cool and clean after the warmth of the venue. A black car waited at the curb, engine low and purring, headlights slicing gently through the dark. Agatha made a beeline for it, your hand still tightly in hers.
“Slow down,” you laughed as you stumbled slightly, the cobblestones beneath your bare feet catching you off guard. “My feet are threatening a mutiny.”
She glanced over her shoulder at you, her expression wicked and impossibly fond all at once.
“I’ve waited long enough,” she said, voice low, amused… and something else entirely. Something warm and possessive that curled along your spine like smoke. You raised a brow, teasing. “For the car?”
Agatha smirked, pausing just long enough to tug you closer by the hand still caught in hers. When you stumbled forward, she leaned in, her mouth brushing the shell of your ear. “No,” she whispered. “For tonight. For you. For all of it.” You shivered, pulse skipping in your throat.
And then she was walking again—faster now, like the only thing on her mind was getting you away from the noise and the lights and into the quiet of the night. Her grip never faltered. Her stride never hesitated.
“All I want right now,” she said, tugging the car door open with one hand, “is to get you back to our hotel suite.” You didn’t argue with her, not this time.
By the time you arrive at the hotel suite things are moving in a blur. Agatha kicked the door shut behind you, pinning you against the cool wood. Her mouth found yours before you could blink—fierce and hungry and somehow still soft against your lips.
A hand slid into your hair, gripping gently, angling your head to deepen the kiss. The other hand, the one that had been skimming up your leg, settled high on your waist and pulled you flush against her.
Your body molded to hers like it was made to fit there—like she was pouring herself into the hollows of you until you were filled up with her. She broke away just as suddenly, chest heaving, eyes dark and wild.
She wanted you naked. She wanted to mark you, claim you, make you a map of her desire etched into the skin. But she also wanted to take her time, to savor every inch of you like a drink she meant to linger over. Like that first sip of something strong and perfect, hot and burning as it slid down her throat, igniting a slow heat in her belly.
Her hands roamed your back, slipping between the fabric separating your body from hers until she found the zipper—she tugged it down. Until the dress fell away to pool at your fee. Looking her fill, eyes drifting over your face and lingering on the swell of your breasts, the curve of your waist and hips, the line of your thighs. Like a glutton feasting her eyes on everything on her plate before she dug in, before she tasted.
She started with your mouth again—wasting no time, wasting no more kisses. Wasting no more distance between you. her hands mapped a path down your neck and chest, skimming just shy of where you most wanted to be touched.
Over the sensitive skin of your ribs, and the mound of your breasts, palming you through the lace of your bra. Her fingers deftly unhooked the clasp, freeing you to the cool air of the room.
She dipped her head, taking one nipple into her mouth and laving it with her tongue. Teeth scraped and lips sealed around the tight bud, sucking hard enough to make you gasp. Make you arch. Make you beg.
Your hands laced themselves into her soft locks as a string of broken whimpers fell from your lips Agatha made quick work of the rest of your undergarments, nearly tearing them in her haste to divest you of the flimsy fabric. You were left bare, exposed, like a feast before her hungry gaze.
Her hands gripped your hips, thumbs digging into the soft flesh, kneading and squeezing as she pulled you tighter against her. You could feel the heat of her body seeping into your own. Agatha spins you both around, walking you backwards until you both unceremoniously tumbled back onto the bed.
She leaned down, trailing hot, open-mouthed kisses along the column of your throat, across your collarbone, between the valley of your breasts. Her fingers drifted lower, skimming over your stomach, pausing at the dip of your hipbones before sliding between your thighs.
She made quick work of your desperate need, her fingers stroking and circling and plunging deep into your heat. Gasps and moans spilled from your lips, your grip on her hair tightening as the tension built in your core.
Pleasure crested over you in waves, your body thrashing beneath her ministrations. She caught your mouth in a searing kiss, swallowing your cries as she brought you to the pinnacle of ecstasy.
With a final, sharp thrust of her fingers, she sent you hurtling over the edge. Your body went rigid, spine arched, as a filthy moan tore from your throat. She worked you through it, extending your pleasure with skillful touches and tender kisses until you collapsed against the sheets, splayed out and limp.
But she wasn't done with you—not yet. Would never be done with you. She slid higher, settling her hips between your thighs. Dipping her head, capturing your mouth in a filthy, open-mouthed kiss. Her tongue exploring the cavern of your mouth, stroking along yours, teasing you.
You groaned into the kiss arms slipping up around her back, after a few moments you pulled away brushing your nose against her own almost desperately “I need more-“
A wicked grin spread across Agatha's face, a glint of mischief sparking in her eyes. She tapped your leg before sliding off the mattress, walking quickly over to the open suitcase sitting idly on the table, reaching inside, she pulled her strap from the inner pocket.
"Always prepared," she purred, voice low and dripping with lust. With deft movements, she disrobed fully - blazer shrugged off and tossed aside, lace bralette unbuttoned and peeled away. Once the toy was settled around her hips, the base fitting snugly in the curve of her waist. She walked back over, crawling up the mattress, slotting herself right back between your spread legs.
She leaned back over you, one elbow braced near your head, the other hand drifting over the shape of your curves. Manicured fingers slid over the swell of your breasts, circling your nipples until they pebbled under her touch.
"Do you want me to fuck you now baby?" she asked, voice a dark rumble. She rolled her hips, the length of her nestled in the heat between your thighs, rubbing achingly slow against your swollen flesh. You whimpered, hips canting off the bed to chase the friction.
"Yes," you gasped, desperate already. Ravenous for it "fuck please—" you whimpered, she sat back to drink in the sight of you displayed before her.
With a sudden, sharp movement, Agatha flipped you over to your stomach. A hand pressed against the small of your back, fingers splayed across your hip bones, pinning you to the mattress. The other hand gripped your ass, kneading and squeezing the soft globe as she spread your thighs farther apart, pulling your hips closer to her own.
You felt the head of the toy catch against your entrance, just the crown breaching your opening. The anticipation was delicious torture and she knew it. "Brace yourself baby " Agatha warned with a dark, lascivious smile. "This is going to be hard and fast and just the way mommy knows you need it."
Your fingers curled into the sheets as a guttural moan claws its way from your throat “fuck mommy please-“ you begged wiggling your ass slightly in anticipation
Agatha wasted no time, slamming her hips forward to bury herself to the hilt in one brutal thrust. You cried out, back arching as you were split open on the thick length of her. She set a relentless pace, hips pounding against your ass as she took you with deep, powerful strokes.
One hand gripped your hip, fingers sinking into the flesh hard enough to leave marks, while the other slid around to your front. Fingers found your clit, rubbing tight circles over the sensitive nub in time with the piston-like thrusts of her hips.
"Fuck, your cunt feels incredible," Agatha growled, voice ragged with lust. "So tight and hot and perfect. It's like your pussy was made just for mommy’s cock."
She leaned down, biting at your shoulder, sucking and nipping at the skin until she'd no doubt left a vivid purple crescent. Her hips never faltered, never slowed, driving into you with a force that shook the bed.
"Harder—" you gasped out, pushing your hips back to meet her thrusts. "Ah! Fuck, yes— " you hissed out
A dark chuckle rumbled from Agatha's chest, echoing against your skin. "As you wish" she purred wickedly. The hand on your hip tightened, gripping you hard enough to bruise as she upped the ferocity of her thrusts. The sound of skin slapping against skin filled the room, punctuated by your wanton cries and her low, guttural moans of pleasure.
Agatha pistoned her hips, the possessive force of her rocking your entire body with each impact. The sensation of being so utterly filled, stretched to the limit around her cock, pressing against your deepest places, had you seeing stars. Each drag of the toy against your inner walls ignited sparks behind your eyelids, your vision hazing over with building pleasure.
"Fuck—" you screamed, fingers clawing at the sheets as Agatha's pace turned brutal. "Don't stop, please don't stop!"
She relentlessly pounded into your dripping sex as her fingers circled your swollen clit at a feverish speed. The dual stimulation had your thighs quaking, your core clenching desperately around the invading length impossibly deep inside you.
"I'm...I'm going to..." you choked out between gasping breaths and escalating moans, feeling your climax barreling towards you like a freight train.
"Then come baby, you don’t need my permission tonight" Agatha crooned, her voice a dark snarl of lust. "Come all over my cock like a good girl…" With that, she sank her teeth into your shoulder again, biting down just hard enough to topple you over the edge into a mind-blowing, body-wracking orgasm. You screamed your pleasure as ecstasy crashed through you, wave after wave of euphoria gushing out from where you were joined.
Agatha gentled her thrusts but kept them deliberate, grinding into you as you shuddered and clenched through the aftershocks. She peppered your sweat-slicked back with tender kisses, murmuring low words of praise and adoration into your bared shoulder blades.
"Such a good girl," she crooned, voice a reverent rumble. "Taking your mommy's cock so beautifully."
Her fingers glided over your hip, your waist, up the center of your spine before tangled in your damp hair. She curled her hand into the locks and tugged lightly, urging your head back to bare the slender column of your throat.
Agatha licked a slow stripe up your neck, tasting the salt of your skin. Drawing a shuddery gasp from your lips. Her hips continued their lazy, rolling thrusts, the silken drag against your sensitive flesh restoring the embers of your desire.
"That's it, baby," she praised, nibbling at the hinge of your jaw. "It feels so good to be full of me, doesn't it? To have me stretching your sweet little cunt so perfectly?"
Her hand drifted around your waist to your belly, splaying possessively over the subtle swell. She pressed against it, forcing the strapping deeper into your dripping channel. The crown kissed your cervix, the bulbous head rubbing insistently against the opening to your womb.
Agatha's touch crept lower, skimming through the neat curls at the juncture of your thighs and sliding teasingly around your mound before delving back between swollen folds slick with your earlier release. Two fingers pushed into your entrance alongside the thickness of the toy still nestled deep inside you, pumping slowly in tandem with her deliberate thrusts.
"There's no part of you that isn't mine," Agatha growled lowly in your ear, nipping sharply at your earlobe. "No inch of skin or secret spot that doesn't belong to me now."
She punctuated her dark declaration with a flex of her fingers, curling them into your sodden heat and pressing firmly against a spot that made your belly clench and legs tremble.
"This is where you belong," she continued, voice grasping with lust and something deeper, more primal. "In my bed, split open on my cock, mommy’s pretty little fuck toy."
Suddenly, Agatha grabbed your wrists and pinned them above your head, the action making your breasts sway enticingly. With her chest pressed firmly to your back, she bucked into you with short, rough jolts of her hips.
You could already feel another climax building, slow and intense. Your head dropped down pressing into the mattress, incoherent babbles slipping from your lips “m-mommy, it’s coming- I can’t hold it-“
"Don't hold back," Agatha commanded, voice tight with her own approaching pinnacle. "Let it happen, baby. Let mommy feel you come undone."
Her hips rolled harder, the toy spearing you open with greater force as she chased your pleasure. The room filled with the lewd sounds of your union - skin slapping against skin, the slick squelch of the strap pumping into your dripping sex, and your escalating cries of ecstasy as your climax overwhelmed you.
Her fingers at some point snuck back down, rubbing your clit in tight, sharp circles, her hips slamming into you with brutal force. The thick head of the strap kissed your cervix one more time before your whole body jerked and shuddered beneath Agatha's relentless onslaught. Pleasure, white hot and all-consuming, exploded through every nerve ending, wracking your body with tremors as you writhed beneath her.
"That's it, sweetheart " Agatha hummed, her touch unrelenting, forcing you through each throbbing wave of your climax. "Squeeze mommy's cock…" The filthy words continue to spill from her lips.
Your body felt weightless and utterly spent but you still had one thing at the forefront of your mind. After you’ve collected yourself as best you can you turned your head to the side, watching her pull the toy out slowly your could help but wince “help me flip back-“
Agatha carefully pulled out of your tender flesh, letting you feel every inch of the toy dragging along your sensitive walls. Once she was free.
"I got you baby " Agatha murmured, gently turning you over onto your back. She tucked your hair away from your face, fingertips trailing soft lines over your blushing cheeks and kiss-swollen lips.
Rolling onto her knees, Agatha unfastened the toy, tossing it away before she dipped her hand between her own thighs, fingers delving into her wetness, intent on finishing herself off quickly. You lazily sat up, grabbing her wrist to stopped the movement, pulling her closer. You leaned back down, leading her by the hand to crawl up your body. Gently guiding one of her thighs across your face, settling her squarely over your mouth.
Agatha shuddered as your warm breath ghosted over her most sensitive flesh. Trembling fingers tangled into your hair as you guided her hips lower, encouraging her to sink down until your lips met slick skin.
"Fuck, baby," Agatha gasped, back arching as your tongue parted her folds. "Your mouth feels fucking incredible—"
Tasting her own essence on your lips ignited a fresh surge of lust inside of you, you pulled her down completely pressing your face into her. Agatha rolled her hips, rubbing herself against your face, smearing your cheeks and chin with her arousal. The sweet scent of her desire filled your nostrils as you licked and suckled, spurring her to grind against you with increasing fervor.
"That's it sweetheart" she praised breathlessly. Her grip tightened in your hair as her pleasure mounted, every drag of your tongue stoking the flames climbing higher inside her with each passing second.
You groaned into her core, feeling Agatha's walls start to flutter around the probing intrusion of your tongue delving deeper inside her. Your lips and chin glistened with her slick arousal, and the evidence of your thorough debauchery made Agatha groan, a fresh surge of lust shooting through her body.
Agatha rocked her hips urgently against your face, painting your features with her release as she chased her pleasure with abandon. The slick sounds of your coupling filled the room once more - the filthy suckling noises of your mouth working feverishly against Agatha's most intimate place. “Fuck baby, mommy’s gonna cum all over your sweet little face-“ Her hips undulated with each crashing wave of sensation radiating out from where you were pressed so intimately together.
"Fuck-" Agatha gasped sharply, trying to catch her breath after coming so hard. She reached down to gently pull you away before gently moving off your body and helping you move to lay properly beside her
She gathered you into her arms, wrapping you tightly against the warm, silken skin of her body. The embrace was protective, unyielding, yet achingly gentle—as though she was afraid you might vanish if she held you too loosely.
Agatha’s hands drifted across your back, down your spine, and over your hips with a tender possessiveness, her touch reverent. Each brush of her fingertips mapped the familiar terrain of your body, stroking every curve and hollow as though she was committing it to memory for the thousandth time and yet with the same awe as if it were the first.
“My perfect girl,” Agatha murmured, her voice low and thick with emotion as she tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear. The pads of her fingers lingered just a moment longer on your cheek, her thumb tracing the slope of your jaw before her hand curled gently around the back of your neck.
You leaned into her touch instinctively, eyes fluttering shut as you soaked in the quiet tenderness of the moment. The safety of her embrace, the steady beat of her heart against your chest—it all wrapped around you like a lullaby.
You nuzzled deeper into the crook of her neck, pressing your face to the warm skin there and inhaling deeply. She smelled like lavender, smoke, and something softer beneath it all—something indescribably hers.
“Sleep now baby” Agatha rumbled softly, her lips brushing your temple as she spoke. Her voice was warm and steady, a balm to every frayed edge of your soul.
She began to rub your back in slow, soothing circles, each pass of her palm easing the tension from your muscles, lulling you further into comfort. With your body molded to hers and the soft rhythm of her breathing surrounding you, you felt your grip on consciousness begin to slip, surrendering to the quiet.

A couple extra notes about the theft post, and then I kinda hope to be done making any posts. I swear this is not a drama blog. I'm Todd in the Shadows taking a break from music videos to well actually James Someton and then hopefully never doing it again. Cut for length, no reblogs because I'm not trying to get anywhere with this except explaining some thoughts.
No one's really brought this up in reply to me, but just to be clear in case anything sounds like claiming ownership over ideas: being inspired by other people is normal and good. You are supposed to be, I would argue. Particularly, when we're in fandom and these are all transformative works. When I've made a piece of art, if it was inspired by someone else, I am going to be mentioning them. I ask authors if they don't mind art, I tag people who inspired things and link to their posts, etc. etc. I'm happy to do that. Not just because it's the right thing to do, but I actively enjoy getting to use art as part of an ongoing media conversation. I like getting positive attention and little numbers that go up for my work, yeah, but that's not why I'm driven to draw or write. I'm trying to express something in me to other people, and I hope they respond. I can't imagine trying to hide that conversation. Especially if it means I can foist off blame for something cursed onto someone else. Helpful guide by unadulteratedkr here, btw. See, this is a very easy thing to do, linking.
Further, I make art. Occasionally. Allegedly, I even write. I am 100% certain something I've made has been similar to something that already existed that I just wasn't previously aware of. That happens. It's normal. I accidentally did that with my username. I don't think random coincidence things like that are plagiarism or even necessarily a bad thing. If you find out later that someone had already done something and you want to be clear about it, just add like a little note? But most of the time it's obvious people just had similar ideas. It's not, for instance, an ongoing behavior stretching months and at times being "literally saw the original 11 minutes ago" or "kudos'd the original last night."
Like, for real, fuck this guy. I glossed over this in the post, but reaching out to me like that privately when he found out I also write was almost certainly groundwork. If I may explain: I talk to people a lot about things I make because they come say hi. That's normal, it's lovely, it's good, it makes me happy. Please do not for one second get suspicious of normal people who are, even when the world is this fucked, by and large good. I promise most people are good. This guy used a good and normal thing for another purpose, like someone hiding a hand buzzer in a handshake. People are good; that guy's an asshole. I don't think for one second that normal human interaction was why Atticus reached out to me the way he did. Given what I know about how he talked to other people and how he justified his bad behavior to them, with more and more examples of this popping up from newly revealed private interactions, he was using the access and the good faith of apparent friendship to get things and get away with things. After almost a year of my being in the fandom, that was the first time he'd slid into my private messages and it was probably to test the waters. See if I was going to gush back, see if I was hungry for approval, etc. because then I'd be easier to jerk around. You make excuses for people you look up to; you make excuses for people who give you something you need. That's what he did, and I'm not saying that to lecture anyone; the opposite. It's why he got away with things, because people want friendship and approval. It's why, even after one of the most frustrating fandom periods of my life, I genuinely am sorry for people who got jerked around even when they didn't want to hear me out.
If someone hurts you and tries to guilt you into forgiving them with shit like "our friendship means so much to me" and [insert medical or mental health reason here] instead of just admitting they fucked up, please please please please please pleasepleasepleasePLEASE be careful with them. When I hit the block button on him, I even sent the prediction that he would make a post about it to friends. He hit the "i thought we were friendly" and the "I'm so stressed about--" points real quick. If I had bothered to explain it to him, it would have looked like all the other Didn't Mean Tos he's been revealed to have done. Please have more respect for your feelings than he did.
tl;dr-- okay but no, really, honestly, truly fffffffffffffffuck this guy. I hope to not make another post about this. If you need to, you can dm me here or on Discord, babykittenteach there too.
#pccp#shoutout to lana and rat friend for dealing with me screaming about this for a year#another thing it's got in common with somerton is i was one of the people who'd tried somerton's videos long before the plagiarism reveal#and immediately went “oh wow this sucks”#and then tried to avoid him on quality actually#scarr said on bluesky that the original versions of fics were definitely better and like#i promise you they are#because pccp was also just bad at writing; i'm sorry#oh hey look credit to various people i wasn't even trying

I think that if Miles Edgeworth were to ever have a Tumblr blog it would be entirely Steel Samurai based with a carefully organized tagging system. He posts lengthy formally worded analysis about Steel Samurai and nothing else. He doesn't check his notes. He does check his asks, because they're kind of like emails. He has anon asks and dms turned off. Someone sends an ask about his interests outside of Steel Samurai and he immediately blocks them. He doesn't have pronouns or a name to be called by in his bio. The only hint about Edgeworth's personal life is that when he refers to the death of Jack Hammer or the conviction of Matt Engarde he only refers to Phoenix as "that man".
Maya definitely has a tumblr and it has a canon Pink Princess url. She actually hoarded a bunch of Pink Princess urls long before the character was officially announced because she knew she needed to have them. Her tumblr header is "the real pink princess ask sal manella". Her pinned post has these
[ID: Two blinkie banners. The first has a lesbian flag background and says "Pink Princess is canonically gay." The second is light pink and says "PinkSteel shippers dni". End ID] (thank you @princess-of-purple-prose)
Maya follows him and sends Edgeworth asks periodically. He thinks she's a wonderful conversationalist. He has no idea of her identity. Maya is fully aware he's Edgeworth.
#og post#highlight reel#Ace Attorney#AA#maya fey#miles edgeworth#steel samurai#Maya finds his blog and is imediately like 'oh this has to be Edgeworth'#like its mostly a hunch because he lets no personal info get out at all#but he's the only one insane enough to word Steel Samurai analysis like a legal document#or at least he makes comments that make a lot of sense from the perspective that it was written by a lawyer#she knows that if she tells him she found his blog he would deactivate immediately. she archives all his posts just in case#I don't know if he'd engage in the fandom I'm on the fence. on one hand it'd be funny and in character if he keeps entirely to himself.#on the other hand it would be really funny if he accidentally follows Maya.#y#hi. i made this post like a year ago and i am coming back to finish it#i don't know what that “y” was but im leaving it there#aasocmed

you: nicholas alexander chavez, the actor from ryan murphy's recent work
me, a mama's girl and daytime tv viewer:
#text post#general hospital#nicholas alexander chavez#spencer cassadine#sorry i'm still not over my shock at this lol#i remember asking my mom MONTHS ago (she follows general hospital news online) 'hey wheres spencer i havent seen him in awhile?'#'oh his character died off. the actor is doing some netflix show where he plays a murderer'#and you have to understand. i dont consume anything to do w true crime. but to my 63-year-old mother. ryan murphy doesnt exist#so bc of just how self-contained the archaic institution of network soap operas are. i just. idk i didnt assume it was a big role#it didnt register to me that it was the sequel to the dahmer show. is what i am saying. and i never thought about it again#mommy made it sound like he might be coming back bc soap opera characters fake-die all the time#and so i put the thought out of my head until completely independently i was watching a video about monsters: menendez being flawed#and i was like. going absolutely insane w how familiar he looked i was like 'ok i know that man cant be too famous but i KNOW him'#'i know him from something and i know him WELL from something. like whatever hes from is iconic to me'#and then the video creator said his name and i was like THATS INSANE WHERE DO I KNOW THAT NAME??!?!??#it's a name i read in the credits but probably never thought in my head at all bc sorry he's just spencer to me#so i googled it and i was gobsmacked. i was like MOM DIDNT SAY he was gonna be in THIS SHIT!?!?!?#i also do lay my life down on the defense that the cinematography of a prestige netflix drama makes him less recognizable to me#who knew him best under cheap soap opera lighting in basic back and forth dialogue shots. like#i have to be honest i never cared for his looks on gh bc he just kinda looked like too perfect. like he looked like a mannequin#i see it now though i get it#i get why he's very fan editable to the true crime girlies i get it#not that it matters. im just in mourning bc it never occurred to me the spencer era was over. i actually liked his character#i cant tell u why bc he wasnt all that distinguishable from all the other basic dramatic character archetypes. idk it was a good performanc#i cant explain to u what makes a soap opera character distinct while still being completely generic (they all are)#i also liked his relationship w his girlfriend in the show it was cute. he was evil but they were sweet#nicky please come back. im begging u. as your only general hospital era fan who is your age#i dont wanna watch monsters menendez i reeeeeally dont

Pushing aside the fact that I am, quite possibly, a Kendrick fan—disregarding my biases, I think Drake needs to stop. Push Ups was a good diss. Surface level, vapid, but it possessed that mean, petty spirit that carries a diss track all the way. Even bringing up accusations that are, realistically speaking, unlikely still works because a diss is supposed to show just how much you hate a person and how cleverly you can bring it.
Taylor Made was weird. I get that it was a strategy. Drop the main diss first and then drop this one to really prod at Kendrick. Using Pac and Snoop AI voices sucks though. Distilling Kendrick as Taylor's underling also doesn't work because Kendrick only collaborated with her once (twice when they remade Bad Blood) and that's it. Meanwhile Drake is out here always looking for new, up and coming artists to pounce on their trends or cling to established artists. Then it got taken down, because of course it would have been. You used 2Pac's voice. Did you really think his estate, his family, wouldn't do anything?
So he bought Pac's ring and used his voice without permission. More and more we see just how much of a vulture Drake is.
And then Euphoria drops.
Your first diss was met with solid reactions. Your second got taken down. Kendrick drops on a random hot Tuesday, and in a matter of hours surpasses your numbers that took weeks to accumulate. Kendrick did that. Euphoria was also harsh, clever, and sounded so good that people kept replaying it over and over again. Once more, Kendrick schools you.
A few insiders then say that Drake will drop that night. Right after. But he then allegedly gets cold feet. A few hours later from when Drake was supposedly ready to drop but backs out, Kendrick drops 6:16 in LA.
In your previous disses, you begged Kendrick to drop something with quintuple entendres. Euphoria did that. But he took it a step further by naming his second diss 6:16 in LA.
June 16: Father's day. Referencing the fact that Drake has been proven to be a deadbeat father.
June 16, 1971: Tupac's Birthday. Kendrick idolizes him. Drake steals from him.
June 16, 2019: First episode of Euphoria drops. A show Drake is listed as a producer on. A show about underage girls entering a life of sex, substance abuse, and more. Things that Drake has been accused of repeatedly in the past.
June 16, 2011: in June 2, 2011, Kendrick posted on his twitter that there will be a concert at Toronto on 6/16. Allegedly this is where Drake and Kendrick first met.
6:16 AM: The time of release for this track.
6:16: Multiple possible Bible verses, given Kendrick's Christian background.
Other claims felt like reaches though, so I'll stick to that.
The final two lines of 6:16 also reference the Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, and their song "You Are Not Alone". Drake, who has always claimed he is Michael Jackson or at the very least his equal/successor, is now tied to him in a way he does not want. Because we know all of the dirt that came out after MJ's death. We all know what R. Kelly was sent to prison for. And we all know what Drake has been accused of multiple times.
Kendrick also alludes to the fact that you have a leak in your circle, Drake.
So Drake drops Family Matters. A scathing 7 minute song that makes fun of the GKMC van. Saying that Kendrick's daughter isn't his. Saying that his wife cheats on him with security. Saying that he beats his wife.
Now, these are enormous accusations levied. But Kendrick has responded before, years ago, that the DV accusations were false. He has also always been open about his faults. Adultery. Sex addiction. Insecurity. God complex. Kendrick, for better or worse, has always laid out nearly every aspect of his younger life on his songs. This also helped by the fact that in both Euphoria and 6:16, Kendrick says that Drake has spent millions on finding dirt on him but came up with nothing. Again, these accusations can still be proven true and if so, Kendrick needs to be held accountable for them.
But if not? Then Drake just adds another to the pile of "He's a liar and a master manipulator."
Drake also posts a Parody on his Insta that gains little to no attention because 30 minutes after dropping Family Matters and supposedly going on his victory lap, Kendrick drops meet the grahams.
Another thing. 6:16's cover was a glove. That meant nothing to us, the audience. meet the grahams makes it make sense by zooming out of the glove and showing off a shirt and drugs that Drake supposedly uses. Drake has not had any receipts with his accusations against Kendrick. Kendrick puts Drake's supposed prescription, his full name, on a bottle of Ozempic. Kendrick, for now, seems to make good on his threat. OvO, Drake's company, is full of leaks. And they're leaking it straight to Kendrick Lamar.
Nearly 24 hours later, Kendrick drops Not Like Us.
Euphoria was a general character dissection and assassination of Drake: Insecure about his identity as a biracial man. Culture Vulture. Blaccent user. Code switcher. Fake abs. Womanizer. Misogynist. Using black features just to feel black enough. A deadbeat dad that knows nothing of raising a child. And even revokes Drake's ability to use the N-Word (I have no stake in that I am Asian so I will keep my brown mouth shut for that).
6:16 in LA was an ominous threat that slowly reveals that Kendrick has insider information on Drake. That he is ready to leak so much more should Drake continue.
meet the grahams is a brutal open letter to Drake, his parents, and even to Adonis, Drake's son. Saying that Kendrick could be a better mentor to Adonis. Saying that Drake abandoned you and that's not your fault. Don't be like your father—whatever anyone says, for better or worse, you are a black man and don't code switch just to make yourself feel better. He says that Drake failed his mother for what he did to women. Saying that Drake's father is the cause of his gambling issues. Drake is a body shamer. Leaving the mother of his children to rot. And of course, the reveal that Drake has a secret daughter, the same way Pusha T revealed Drake has a son. Adonis.
And of course, now. Not Like Us. Where Kendrick goes all in on one topic that he has alluded to in every diss track before. Drake is a groomer. A pedophile.
I am sick. I should not be tuning into this beef. But my fever can go ahead and end me, I need to know how this ends.

a private meeting
summary: yuu makes a list of the top five cutest third years. the following conversation type of post: short fic characters: cater, trey, leona, rook, vil, idia mentioned, lilia, malleus additional info: romantic?? platonic?? idk, reader is gender neutral, reader is yuu, this is more for character interactions. and fun
"I'm sure you're all well aware of why we're here,"
The eight gentleman standing around the dark, candlelit room look between each other.
Leona yawns.
"How long is this gonna take, exactly? I was dragged outta bed for this,"
Vil glares. "Hush. I wanted to deal with this matter in the quietest manner possible, without disturbing the prefect. Sevens know what happens when your egos go unchecked,"
"Look who's talking,"
Another glare, but Vil chooses not to waste any more time.
"Two nights ago, the prefect hosted a slumber party for Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, Jack Howl, and our own Epel Felmier,"
"I remember that," Lilia says, rubbing his chin. "Sebek was invited, but refused in case someone attacked Malleus whilst he was away."
Malleus shakes his head.
"During this event, the prefect created a list of the top five "cutest third years", as we all know. And, to avoid any childish squabbling, I've gathered you all here to open it as an ensemble. Rook?"
A slim, folded sheet of notebook paper appears from the dark of Rook Hunt's pocket. He holds it up, as if presenting it to the heavens.
"Where did you even find that?" Trey asks, adjusting his glasses.
"Facile! It was buried under a stack of homework assignments in our dearest Trickster's bedroom," the blond says merrily.
"Logistically speaking, that's almost too easy. Are we sure it isn't a fake?" Ortho pipes up.
"Ortho?" Vil asks. "What are you doing here?"
The boy giggles in an electronic chime. "Idia is hiding under his covers and won't come out, so I'm here in his place!"
"...Alright,"
"I don't know what he's so nervous for," Vil goes on. "When I am already guaranteed to be in the first place slot."
Leona scoffs, kicking back with his feet on the table. Vil glares again.
"How rude,"
"He's not wrong. You are the most beautiful here..." a smile creeps up Lilia's face. "But, as I recall, you said cutest third years, not most beautiful. And if anyone is the cutest, it's me."
"Oh, spare me," Leona sighs. "Let's just get this over with. Open the damn thing."
"You're not the least bit curious, Leona?" the fae asks, batting his large eyes.
"Don't patronize me. And no, I'm not. I couldn't care less,"
Lilia smirks, but says nothing more on the matter.
He turns to his tablemate. "And what say you, Malleus?"
Every person in the room falls silent, and then turn to the prince sitting at the furthest corner of the table with his hands folded in front of him.
He hasn't shared a single thought all evening.
"...The contents of this list make no difference to me," he finally speaks. "My feelings towards the prefect will be unaffected."
Rook sets a hand over his heart. "Quelle beauté! I am moved! Not even the strongest of winds could make your friendship bow,"
Leona groans as if he's in agonizing pain.
"Open it!"
"Okay, hold on. Isn't this like, a major privacy violation?" Cater says. He doesn't sound eager to see the results, either.
"I would hate for someone to read my private thoughts to a room full of people."
"He may have a point. This was a list made between friends at a slumber party. Taking it out of that context could be disastrous," Trey agrees.
"There's a 96% chance this will end in conflict!" Ortho chimes in, merry as ever. Leona sighs.
"Can I just leave?"
"No," Vil snaps. "Rook, open it."
"Rook, don't,"
"Rook!"
The poor man observes the conflict slowly unraveling before him, and he sets the folded sheet of paper on the table.
"Now, now, do not squabble! Let this be a chance to celebrate our bonds with the lovely prefect!"
"I agree with Rook," Lilia smiles big. "We should all agree that no matter what is on that list, we'll leave it after tonight and move on."
Vil sighs. "Yes, yes. You're all right. We can't let what they wrote at a private slumber party affect our relationships with them,"
"No matter what, we leave them out of this. Agreed?"
Everyone in the room nods.
"Alright. Rook, read it,"
Rook reaches behind him, the anticipation building, and... is met with a cool wooden surface.
The note seems to have disappeared into thin air.
Before anyone can express their obvious confusion, an evil cackling pulls their attention to the doorway.
Vil gasps.
"Grim! Put that down!"
The small direbeast, now holding a crumpled piece of paper in his paw, smiles wickedly.
And then, to everyone's horror, he eats it whole.
Leona is the first to react, storming over and lifting Grim by the scruff of his neck. "Seriously?!"
"Fufufu. Looks like someone cared, after all," Lilia chuckles. Vil rolls his eyes.
"Hey! Not my fault you guys were so loud! You woke me up from my nap over a stupid list!" Grim says, crossing his arms.
A brief silence follows, and then a sigh. Leona drops him and he lands on his feet.
"Perhaps Grim is right," Ortho says. "Instead of worrying about the numerical grade the prefect assigns you, you should focus on the unique and special aspects of your individual relationships!"
"How eloquent!" Rook coos. "Oui, you are right! Sometimes it is best to let secrets remain secrets."
"Something about the way he says that tells me he already knows what it said," Leona grumbles.
"Ohoho. A fascinating mystery, non? Did I sneak a peek before tonight, or am I just as clueless as you?"
The prince rolls his eyes.
Vil sighs. "Ortho is right. Now I feel ridiculous for getting so worked up over what amounts to a joke at a slumber party,"
Everyone grows quiet, seemingly reflecting on themselves for the duration of the brief silence.
Lilia's giggles change the melancholic mood of the room.
"Perhaps Malleus had the right idea all along. It doesn't matter who the prefect thinks is more attractive; they're still a wonderful friend. How wise- I'm very proud,"
Malleus beams.
"Yeah yeah," Grim grumbles, turning to the door. "I didja a favor, anyway. None of you weirdos were number one."
He leaves, and he takes the peace and reflection with him.
Slowly, everyone turns to each other.

Mr. Flanagan, I’d like to ask a question and I deeply hope that it does not offend or upset you. I am strongly considering canceling my Netflix subscription due to their new password sharing policy. However, Midnight Mass is one of my favorite shows of all time and I know it isn’t available on DVD, and I’m also profoundly anticipating your take on my favorite Edgar Allen Poe story. So I wanted to ask your take on people accessing your work through, uh, other means. If it’s something that’s offensive to you or will harm you or the other people who work so hard on these shows, I’ll happily keep my Netflix just so that I can keep supporting your work. I respect you far too much as an artist to do otherwise.
Again, I really hope I’m not upsetting you by asking this question. Thank you for everything, and I hope you’re having a great day!
(NOTE 6/4/2024: I'm editing this entry because, well over a year since it was posted, some journalists dug this up and used it to create click-bait headlines that are misleading, out of context and artificially combative. While I was of course disappointed over the years that Netflix opted not to release my work on physical media, I never experienced any hostility or aggression in those discussions, and I sincerely regret the manner in which this post was used in the press this week.)
Hi there - no offense taken whatsoever, in fact I think this is a very interesting and important question.
So. If you asked me this a few years ago, I would have said "I hate piracy and it is hurting creators, especially in the independent space." I used to get in Facebook arguments with fans early in my career when people would post about seeing my work on torrent sites, especially when that work was readily available for rent and purchase on VOD.
Back in 2014, my movie Before I Wake was pirated and leaked prior to any domestic release, and that was devastating to the project. It actually made it harder to find distribution for the film. By the time we were able to get distribution in the US, the film had already been so exposed online that the best we could hope for was a Netflix release. Netflix stepped in and saved that movie, and for that I will always be grateful to them.
However...
Working in streaming for the past few years has made me reconsider my position on piracy.
In the years I worked at Netflix, I tried very hard to get them to release my work on blu-ray and DVD.
It became clear very fast that their priority was subscriptions, and that they were not particularly interested in physical media releases of their originals, with a few exceptions.
While companies like Netflix pride themselves on being disruptors, and have proven that they can affect great change in the industry, they sometimes fail to see the difference between disruption and damage. So much that they can find themselves, intentionally or not, doing harm to the concept of film preservation.
The danger comes when a title is only available on one platform, and then - for whatever reason - is removed.
We have already seen this happen. And it is only going to happen more and more. Titles exclusively available on streaming services have essentially been erased from the world. If those titles existed on the marketplace on physical media, like HBO's Westworld, the loss is somewhat mitigated (though only somewhat.) But when titles do not exist elsewhere, they are potentially gone forever.
The list of titles that have been removed from streaming services is growing.
I still believe that where we put our dollars matters. Renting or buying a piece of work that you like is essential. It is casting a vote, encouraging studios - who only speak the language of money - to invest more effort into similar work. If we show up to support distinct, unique, exciting work, it encourages them to make more of it. It's as simple as that. If we don't show up, or if they can't hear our voice because we are casing our vote "silently" through torrent sites or other means - it makes it unlikely that they will take a chance to create that kind of work again.
Which is why I typically suggest that if you like a movie you've seen through - uh - other means, throw a few dollars at that title on a legitimate platform. Rent it. Purchase it. Support it.
But if some studios offer no avenue for that kind of support, and can (and will) remove content from their platform forever... frankly, I think that changes the rules.
Netflix will likely never release the work I created for them on physical media, though I'll always hold out hope.
Some of you may say "wait, aren't The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor available on blu-ray and DVD?" Yes, they are, because they were co-produced with Paramount, and I'm grateful that Paramount was able to release and protect those titles. (I'm also grateful that those releases include extended cuts, deleted scenes, and commentary tracks. There are a number of fantastic benefits to physical media releases.)
But a lot of the other work I did there are Netflix originals, without any other studio involvement. Those titles - like Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club, and the upcoming Fall of the House of Usher - along with my Netflix exclusive and/or original movies Before I Wake and Gerald's Game - have no such protections. The physical media releases of those titles are entirely at Netflix's discretion, and don't appear to be priority for the studio at this time.
At the moment, Netflix seems content to leave Before I Wake, Gerald's Game, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club on the service, where they still draw audiences. I don't think there is a plan to remove any of them anytime soon. But plans change, the industry changes.
The point is things change, and each of those titles - should they be removed from the service for any reason - are not available anywhere else. If that day comes - if Netflix's servers are destroyed, if a meteor hits the building, if they are bought out by a competitor and their library is liquidated - I don't know what the circumstances might be, I just know that if that day comes, some of the work that means the most to me in the world would be entirely erased.
Or, what if we aren't so catastrophic in our thinking? What if it the change isn't so total? What if Netflix simply bumps into an issue with the license they paid for music (like the Neil Diamond songs that play such a crucial role in Midnight Mass), and decide to leave the show up but replace the songs?
This has happened before as well - fans of Northern Exposure can get the show on DVD and blu-ray, but the music they heard when the series aired has been replaced due to the licensing issues. And the replacements - chosen for their low cost, not for creative reasons - are not improvements. What if the shows are just changed, and not by creatives, but by business affairs executives?
All to say that physical media is critically important. Having redundancy in the marketplace is critically important. The more platforms a piece of work is available on, the more likely it is to survive and grow its audience.
As for Netflix, I hope sincerely that their thinking on this issue evolves, and that they value the content they spend so much money creating enough to protect it for posterity. That's up to them, it's their studio, it's their rules. But I like to think they may see that light eventually, and realize that exclusivity in a certain window is very cool... but exclusivity in perpetuity could potentially limit the audience and endanger the work itself.

Cregan Stark x Targaryen Reader (Rhaenyra’s daughter)
Instead of Jace meeting Cregan to get his alliance — what if it’s the reader. And when Cregan meets her he’s attracted to her and instead of just remembering his allegiance towards them, he purposes a wedding instead? Like he’s willing to help more to the Black’s IF he’s allowed to wed her daughter. 😏 Definitely just a rough ask so feel free to add or change anything!
It's been a long time coming... I have received so many request for this one! I picked little things from each and turned it into a slightly bigger fic. Reader is Velaryon, and Jacaerys' twin sister. I will be turning this into a small series as the story is getting too big and heavy in content for one post
Title (for ao3): The Pact of ice and fire
Warnings: mention of character deaths (spoilers), political marriage,
my taglists are here + you can send requests here at any time

—
Dragons are faster than ravens, so Rhaenyra sent her children on dragonback to raise support for her claim to the throne. Lucerys went to Storm’s End, Jacaerys to the Vale and you flew North to Winterfell.
Lord Cregan Stark welcomed you into his home and offered you a seat at supper — and a chamber for the night. Dragonstone was a long way to Winterefell, your stomach was grateful for a hot meal.
While you were eating, you informed the northman of the usurper sitting on the Iron Throne — your mother's throne — and how a war to take it back was about to begin. You didn’t forget to kindly remind him of his father’s oath to your grandsire. Starks were known for being just and honorable.
‘’Starks do not forget their oaths, Princess,’’ Lord Stark said between two bites of mutton stew. ‘’My father made an oath to King Viserys twenty years ago, and I shall honor this oath. But winter is coming. I cannot promise the Queen my men — I need them at the Wall.’’
‘’Whilst your men guard against wildlings and weather, the Hightowers plan to usurp the throne. If my mother is to defend her claim, to hold the realm united, she needs an army. War is coming to the whole of the realm, my Lord. We cannot wage it without the support of the North.’’
Cregan took a long sip of his wine, thinking as he drank, then set his cup down. ‘’I have thousands of graybeards who have already seen too many winters.’’
Graybeards? You frowned, trying to understand. Did he mean old men?
‘’No offense, Lord Stark, but I cannot accept—’’
‘’They are well-honed,’’ he reassured with a soft chuckle, sensing your concern. ‘’They are not that old, Princess. I can ready them to march at once.’’
‘’If your graybeards can fight, the Queen will have them,’’ you replied with a smile, reaching for your fork to take a bite. You preferred duck over mutton, but was polite enough to eat what was given to you.
‘’What do I get of this arrangement?’’
A frown drew between your eyebrows. ‘’Excuse me?’’
Cregan cleared his throat, then reformulated his question. ‘’If I give the Queen some of my men, what do I get in return?’’
You considered quickly. ‘’I can send a dragon to protect Winterfell—’’
‘’Winterfell is safe from the Hightowers, Princess. I doubt they will march the three month journey to the North to attack us. It would serve them nothing. And if they did, they would not be able to trespass our gate.’’
‘’Then, what do you want, Lord Stark?’’
He turned to you, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. ‘’A wife. I would be more inclined to help your mother’s cause if she offered me her delightful daughter.’’
You were caught off guard by Cregan’s demand. While you clearly understood his proposal, the realization of it was slow to dawn on you. For a moment, your mouth opened, before swiftly closing it again, lost for words.
When you overcame your own disbelief, you looked to the man beside you with suspicion. ‘’I am flattered, but I am not looking for a husband. I plan to fight for my mother’s throne, not stay behind and grow heirs for a lord.’’
‘’Who said anything about an heir? I am in no rush to step down as Lord of Winterfell. From your perspective, you see only disadvantages, but an alliance by marriage between two highborns would be strategically advantageous. Family is very important for Starks. If we were to wed, we could stand together. I will follow you to war, I will fight for your mother.’’
The dining hall fell into a long, contemplative silence as you considered Cregan’s proposal. You had come north to gain the support of the Northerners, not to find a husband. But an alliance with the Starks would be quite powerful, and perhaps Lord Stark had a point. A Stark and a Targaryen. A wolf and a dragon. Such a marriage had never happened before.
And you wouldn't be displeased to have him as a husband. The Warden of the North was undeniably handsome. He had this rugged charm about him, with piercing gray eyes. You would not mind warming his bed.
‘’Would I be required to reside to Winterfell?’’
Leaving your family during a time of war was not something you wanted.
‘’Not immediately, but eventually. It is the seat of House Stark, Princess. I would expect my wife, the Lady of Winterfell, to live there,’’ Cregan explained, his gray eyes fixed on yours, his expression serious. ‘’But we could make some arrangements to allow you to remain in the South until the war is over. Would that suit you?"
⁂
After treating with Cregan, you made the journey back to Dragonstone to bring the Queen good news. The northern Lord seemed disappointed to watch you leave, having taken a liking to your company in the few hours you spent together, but you promised to return in a fortnight. He kissed your hand before you mounted on Seasmoke, and watched you take the sky.
You landed on Dragonstone as the day was turning into night. A knight of the Queensguard took you to your mother’s chambers where horrible news was waiting for you.
You crumbled into your mother’s arms as the words left her lips, feeling your heart breaking into pieces. As twins, you and Jacaerys had a special bond. But you always felt protective of Luke. You would climb into his baby crib when he was crying at night and sing to him until he fell asleep.
When you left her chambers, you visited the children’s. Aegon and Viserys were with the nanny, but Joffrey was sitting on the floor, holding a horse toy Luke had handed down to him. A sob escaped your lips, getting the little boy’s attention, and he ran over to you. You hugged him tightly. He was sad and confused, too young to understand death.
⁂
The days that followed, you were not allowed to leave the castle. During a small council meeting, you had voiced your desire to get on your dragon and go to King’s Landing to burn Aemond Targaryen to a crisp. Jacaerys was on your side, wanting revenge for Luke, but your mother had shut the idea down quickly and forbade the two of you to leave castle ground.
Alone in the library, you were reading about dragons to make up for not being allowed to ride your own. Unfortunately, the feeling was not the same. Seasmoke, who you had claimed after your father’s death, missed you. You could see him calling for you and flying over the bay from your chamber’s window.
You sighed and flipped the page of your book, daydreaming of the wind hitting your face and the thrill of flying.
A voice pulled you out of your head.
‘’A raven arrived from Winterfell, Princess. A message to you from Lord Stark,’’ Maester Gerardys said.
The maester handed you a piece of rolled parchemin, sealed with the Stark sigil. You thanked him, and he left, giving you privacy. You drew your eyebrows together, not expecting anything from Cregan. Did he wish to revoke his proposal?
Dear Princess,
I have learned of the tragic loss of your brother, Lucerys. I offer you my deepest condolences in this dark hour. Losing a brother is a pain I know myself. Winterfell stands with you in your grief. May the gods give him rest.
With deepest sympathy,
— Lord Cregan Stark
⁂
Following the murder of Prince Jaehaerys, the Greens had sent ravens throughout the realm claiming Rhaenyra had ordered the death of the little child in revenge for Lucerys — a son for a son. The accusation was absurd. Your mother would never order the murder of a child, or inflige this kind of pain to an innocent like Helaena.
When night fell, Dragonstone was attacked. Ser Arryk infiltrated the island by passing for his brother, Ser Erryk, and came to the Queen’s chambers, attempting to slay her in her bed. Thankfully, Mysaria noticed the wrong brother making his way to the castle and alerted the guards, saving Rhaenyra’s life.
‘’Thank you, Elinda,’’ Rhaenyra said as she poured tea to help her calm down.
After hearing commotion in the corridors, you had asked one of the knights what happened and rushed to the master chambers to check on your mother. She was a little shaken after witnessing the Cargyll twins dueling and dying before her eyes.
‘’Where was Daemon?’’ you asked, sitting across from her on the couch.
She shrugged, not knowing. ‘’Harrenhal, I assume.’’ She took a sip of her tea, her hands slightly shaking. ‘’He has been talking of raising an army there.’’
‘’He should have been here—’’
‘’Daemon is following his own path.’’
You understood her words as closure to the conversation and respected her desire.
Come morning, Dragonstone was deemed no longer safe for children. By the Queen’s command, Rhaena embarked a ship with your little brothers, their dragons, and dragon eggs to Pentos. Saying goodbye to your brothers — and half-sister — was sad, but they were too exposed on Dragonstone.
⁂
‘’Releasing your anger through your sword is going to get you killed. Have you learned this tactic through Daemon?’’ you asked Jacaerys, his sword clinked loudly against yours as you trained on the beach.
You took a quick step to the side, your movements fluid and graceful.
Jacaerys grunted, adjusting his stance, and swung his sword again, aiming for your side. You blocked the attack with ease, your eyes never leaving his. ‘’How can I not be angry? The walls of Dragonstone have been infiltrated by the enemy, yet she refuses to attack.’’ He let out a frustrated sigh, his movements growing more aggressive.
‘’Because her war strategies are passive doesn’t mean she is doing the wrong thing. Do you remember when we wanted to go to King’s Landing and kill Aemond ourselves? We were angry and hurting, it was impulsive and foolish.’’
At the time, it seemed a brilliant idea, but with Vhagar patrolling over King’s Landing, she would have attacked the both of you before you could get to Aemond. Your mother was hurting so much from losing Lucerys, she would not have bore losing two more.
Jacaerys swung his sword again, this time with greater force. ‘’It would have been justice.’’
‘’It would have been death.’’
Training came to an abrupt end, leaving Jacaerys to himself on the beach. You didn’t want to argue with him. He was usually the rational one between you, but going to King’s Landing to kill Aemond was a stupid idea.
You were directed to the great hall by one of the guards as soon as you stepped inside. The Queen wanted to speak to you.
She was standing at the head of the painted table with a piece of parchment before her. ‘’A raven came from Lord Staunton informing us that Ser Criston's army has burned his fields and livestock. Supplies in Rook's Rest are beginning to run low and he requests assistance. I want you to change into your riding gear. You and Rhaenys will be going to Rook’s Rest.’’
Excitement bubbled in your stomach. It was the first time she was sending you on a mission since Luke’s death.
‘’Yes, Mother— Your Grace,’’ you quickly corrected.
Rhaenyra smiled at your slip-up. ‘’Be safe. Listen to your instinct. Turn back if anything feels wrong. It’s okay to retreat.’’
⁂
The journey to Rook’s Rest was relatively short. When you got there, arrows were flying from both armies. The Green’s was larger, but Lord Staunton’s garrison did not back down.
‘’Dragon!’’ one of the Green knights called out, catching sight of Meleys coming into view.
Ser Criston’s archers shot arrows and scorpions fire at Meleys. The dragon was largely unharmed by their attacks, and responded by burning Criston's soldiers with dragonfire. Their screams echoed through the air, a chilling reminder of the chaos below. You tried not to let it get to your head that humans were being burned alive. They were Greens soldiers.
Coming right behind Rhaenys, Seasmoke roared, and burned more of Ser Criston’s soldiers. A small part of you was praying to catch the man himself and turn him into ashes. It would be an amusing story to tell Jacaerys and Baela when you return.
You clung to the saddle on Seasmoke's back as you scanned the battlefield from above, searching for any sign of Criston Cole. The heat from the dragonfire was intense, and the smell of burning flesh filled the air.
Your search was interrupted by a deafening roar coming from behind and filling the sky. You looked up to see Sunfyre, its golden scales glinting in the sunlight, joining the battlefield with Aegon atop him.
It was expected. The Greens would have been fools to come to battle with at least one dragon.
Rhaenys turned her head toward Sunfyre, having heard his roar, and came to meet him with her claws and teeth.
The two dragons clashed in mid-air, their roars echoing across the battlefield. Meleys' scarlet scales flashed as she attacked, her claws slashing at Sunfyre's underbelly. Sunfyre responded with a blast of dragonfire, which Meleys narrowly dodged.
You flew to Rhaenys’ aid. Although Sunfyre was slightly larger than Seasmoke, your dragon had battle experience from when your father was his rider. They participated in the war for the Stepstones together.
Before you could get to them, another loud noise came from the forest — Vhagar. The massive dragon's roar sent chills down your spine as she emerged from the treeline, her vast wings unfurling. With Aemond atop her, Vhagar soared into the sky, heading straight for the battle.
Seeing them sent rage in your blood. They took your brother from you.
You wanted to take them down, to kill them both to avenge Lucerys, but you knew Seasmoke would never win against Vhagar.
Rhaenys glanced back, seeing the new threat approaching, but she didn’t let go of Sunfyre. She was determined to not let them go unscattered from this battle.
You finally joined them, commanding Seasmoke to bite Sunfyre’s wing. Sunfyre cried out in pain as Seasmoke's jaws clamped down, and Meleys continued to claw at him relentlessly. The combined assault overwhelmed Sunfyre, and his injuries soon became too severe. With a final, agonized roar, Sunfyre began to crash toward the ground, Aegon clinging desperately to his back.
As you and Rhaenys watched Sunfyre and Aegon freefall and crash into the forest with a loud thump, Vhagar, taking Rhaenys by surprise, came from the other side and clamped her massive jaws around Meleys’s neck. The force of the attack was brutal, and Meleys roared in agony as Vhagar’s powerful grip tightened.
‘’No!’’ you screamed, knowing this bite would be fatal for the dragon.
Life left the red dragon’s eyes, giving one last glance at her rider as they freefell from the sky together, leaving only you and Aemond standing. He looked at you with a smug winning smile on his face, having taken another member of the Blacks down.
You could have continued this battle, but your mother’s words echoed in your head. It’s okay to retreat.
With teary eyes, you commanded Seasmoke to turn around and return to Dragonstone, leaving behind the Queen Who Never Was.
⁂
You felt like a failure after your first battle. Rook’s Rest had fallen into ashes, Rheanys was dead, and you lost a dragon. Your mother had been right, sending her inexperienced children to war was a terrible idea.
Still in shock from the battle, you stepped into your mother’s chambers, tears streaming down your face. ‘’I’m sorry, Your Grace. I failed.’’
⁂
Guilt gnawed at you since you had returned from Rook’s Rest. Rhaenyra said it was not your fault, but you should not have let yourself be distracted when Vhagar was still standing. Rhaenys died because of your mistake.
A knock at your door raised your attention.
‘’Come.’’
The door opened, revealing your mother who came to check on you. She may be Queen, but she’ll never stop taking care of her children. Ser Steffon closed the door behind Rhaenyra, and waited outside your chambers. Since Ser Arryk infiltrated the castle, a knight of the Queensguard was always accompanying her.
She took a seat next to you on the edge of the bed, looking stunning in a blue dress. The color was unusual on her, preferring shades of red and black.
‘’How is Lord Corlys? And Baela?’’ you asked, fidgeting with your fingers.
You wanted to be the one bringing the regretful news of Rhaenys’ death to her husband, but your mother didn’t allow you. Although Lord Corlys had shown kindness to your family and that losses were inevitable in a war, he would not hesitate to put the blame on Rhaenyra for sending his wife to her death.
Your mother regarded you with a mixture of concern and sadness. ‘’Lord Corlys is devastated, and so is Baela.’’ She observed the guilt in your expression and the tension in your body. ‘’You mustn't blame yourself for what happened,’’ she said, her voice gentle and loving. ‘’But it is not the matter I came here to discuss. I want to discuss my succession. If my end comes during this war, Jacaerys will ascend and take my crown, as intended. But if anything were to happen to Jace, I want you to take my crown.’’
The thought of something happening to your mother terrified you. But losing your twin brother, your other half, made you nauseous.
You nodded. ‘’I will, Your Grace. But nothing will happen to Jace. We will protect each other—’’
‘’By making you the spare heir, you will be targeted, so I want you to take Seasmoke and stay at Winterfell,’’ she interrupted, her tone resolute. ‘’Lord Cregan Stark will ensure your protection.’’
You were taken aback by your mother’s declaration. You felt a pang of hurt and confusion. How could she send you away? She already lost two dragons, and Daemon was in Harrenhal. You going North would subtract another, leaving her defenses with only three dragons.
‘’I do not wish to hide, I want to stay here! I am an asset to your sleeve, you need me on Dragonstone. I may not be at my best right now, but I am not a fragile daughter. I will go into battle again. Please, do not send me away,’’ you said, your voice cracking with emotion.
Rhaenyra took a difficult breath, her heart aching at your anguished plea. She understood your anger and frustration, having once been brushed aside due to being a daughter. But she never saw you as less than a boy. You always trained with your brothers and often had the upper hand when dueling with Jace. She was doing this to ensure the survival of her succession and the protection of the realm.
‘’It is not a sign of weakness to hide. It is a sign of strength to know when to pick your battles.’’ Your mother took your hands in hers, her eyes brimming with tears. ‘’I speak the truth when I say the last thing I want is to be separated from you, but I cannot risk you getting captured. I can’t risk the Greens getting their hands on you.’’
⁂
No raven had been sent to Lord Stark to inform him of your arrival to Winterfell. You could not risk revealing your position were the message to fall into the wrong hands. So when Cregan heard from his men that a dragon had been seen flying over the northern villages, he was confused.
With a loud thump, you landed outside the courtyard and dismounted Seasmoke. Guards bowed their heads as you walked to the gates of Winterfell, seeing the sigil of House Targaryen on your clothes. They escorted you into the castle as whispers of your arrival began to spread amongst the court, leading you to the council chamber where Cregan was occupied with matters from the Wall.
‘’I will inform Lord Stark of your arrival,’’ one of the guards said.
You gave him a nod and waited in the corridor.
Normally, no one disturbed him during council meetings, but you insisted that the matter was urgent. With a nod, Cregan dismissed his council and instructed the guard to bring you in.
The men filed out of the chamber as you stepped in, dressed in your riding gear and flakes of snow sprinkled on your braid. Cregan stood from his seat at the end of the table, his towering figure casting a shadow against the cold stone of the chamber.
‘’Pardon me for not welcoming you myself, Princess. Your presence here is unexpected.’’ His eyes fell on the bag on your shoulder, holding personal effects, raising his curiosity. ‘’But always welcomed,’’ he added, not wanting to give you the wrong impression.
You gave him a small smile. ‘’Thank you, Lord Stark. I apologize for my unannounced presence. Sending a raven was just not a possibility; actions had to be taken rapidly and in the utmost secrecy.’’
A frown formed between Cregan's eyebrows. Seeing you walk through his doors unannounced could only mean something serious had happened. You wouldn't come all the way to Winterfell unless it was necessary.
He then gestured to a seat at the table, motioning for you to sit down.
You tried to not make a scraping sound with the chair as you pulled it, and sat down across the taller chair. Cregan joined you, his gray eyes looking at you, waiting for explanations.
‘’There was a battle at Rook’s Rest,’’ you began, a lump forming in your throat as horrific flashes of Rhaenys falling to her death filled your mind. ‘’Aegon the Usurper and his dragon were severely injured from my and Princess Rhaenys’ dragon. She and Meleys didn’t survive the battle.’’ You blinked rapidly, chasing the tears from your eyes.
‘’May the gods give her rest,’’ Cregan said respectfully.
You nodded in reciprocal, then continued. ‘’The Queen is worried they will come after me for what I’ve done to their King and decided I should go into hiding. Since I accepted your demand, she send me to Winterfell under your protection.’’
Before you, Cregan's frown deepened as he thought about the upcoming departure to the Wall. In a week, he and his men would be leaving for a long, harsh winter, and he wouldn't return until spring. As Warden of the North, his duty to the Wall was stronger than his duty to the Queen, but was it stronger than his oath to his future wife? You were only betrothed at the moment, but assuring your protection was part of his duty as husband.
He gave you a single nod. ‘’Of course, Princess. You will be safe here, you have my word. No harm shall come to you behind these gates.’’

Could you please write about the Harbingers spending time with the reader on their birthdays? But maybe they send what they did with you as a letter to the Traveler like the in-game feature? :D
♡ 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬' 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ♡
synopsis: The Traveler naturally expects mail in their inbox whenever the Harbingers' birthdays roll around. However, they didn't expect it to be so... lovey-dovey, and all about you.
includes: all harbingers w/ gn! reader
notes: I've finally finished it! I've been wanting to write something similar to my voice line post for a while, so here it is - the Harbingers sending birthday mail, except they're very down bad for you :3 Includes a letter, a photograph, and attached items with the letter! (Sorry to the Pulcinella fans, I was too lazy to write him in.)
“Home…”
Sender: Pierro
It is my birthday today. Normally, I would have continued on my day as usual, but [Name] had another idea in mind, going so far as to get the Tsaritsa herself to block the door to my office and then dragging me away. It seems they were planning this for a while… The last birthday I celebrated was the year Khaenri’ah fell. What purpose did today serve when my homeland and people were gone? As the years went on, it began to slip my mind and I nearly would have forgotten the date, were it not for [Name]’s question a while ago. I thought nothing of it, but I did not think [Name] would have taken this so seriously.
They knew I would enjoy anything so long as it was with them, yet they had the entire day planned out. Claiming that I needed some fresh air, we walked through the Snezhnayan streets, the normally biting frost a bit warmer than usual. Casual browsing at some new stores that opened up. [Name]’s attempt at starting a snowball fight. And lastly… grocery shopping.
When we got back, they wouldn’t let me help or look. But I could tell from the smell exactly what they were making. It turns out that they managed to make a dish from my home country. I am not sure how they managed to get a hold of this recipe… I must have mentioned it offhandedly and they improvised from there. Of course, it’s not an exact replica, but nonetheless, it tasted delicious. Just for a few minutes, I was taken back to my previous home. That home will never come back, but I have a new one now.
And now the day is almost over. Despite their best efforts to stay awake until the end of the day, they succumbed to their sleepiness, now lying on my lap. They were supposed to read me something they made, but perhaps I’ll find out what that was tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be back to normal again. But that is alright. I still do not believe I deserve a day like today but, if this is what [Name] desires, then I shall not refuse them again. I’ll look forward to the next birthday just as they do.

A picture is included with the letter that has Pierro and you in it. The Harbinger is seated at a table with a homemade dish in front of him. His giant coat and mask are placed off to the side, revealing scars from long ago. You’re glued to his side, trying to feed him by holding the spoon close to his mouth. Pierro is a grown man, the Traveler thinks, he does not need you to feed him… However, he looks quite content with this arrangement so the blonde won’t question it any further. In fact, he looks as if he’s right at home.
Attached Items:
Ancient Khaenri’ahn Dish [A meal unique to Khaneri’ah that has long been forgotten by the world. Although you clearly struggled to make it due to a lack of experience, even the Traveler can taste how much of your love was put into it.]
Khaenri’ahn Story Book [A book that contains numerous fairy tales and various stories originating from the lost nation, written by none other than Pierro himself, and illustrated by you. Apparently, it was born from you begging him to tell you stories from his home, and eventually, the Harbinger began to write them down so you could read them instead of bothering him so often. However, it made the problem worse as now you bother him to read them to you. How sweet.]

“A Day Off.”
Sender: Dottore
[Name] has convinced me to go back to Sumeru with them for a couple of days. I couldn’t care less about this day, but they were adamant about spending the whole day with me, and that they “will not be spending my birthday in a dark gloomy lab again.”
My research has regrettably halted for a bit, but I suppose this was not a bad idea. This was the first time in many years that either of us had stepped foot back into Sumeru - we had not been back since I was expelled from the Akademiya, besides my segments of course.
[Name] and I trekked the same path we used to walk during our studies at the Akademiya. It was a good spot for studying and conducting experiments without any disturbances - that was until they started following me around. They were a nuisance at first… but eventually, [Name] began to help me deconstruct a variety of machines, which was helpful. And then would laugh at me whenever I ended up breaking them.
Ever since I met them, [Name] has always said a lot of strange things, but their most recent comment was that they wanted to drink the blue liquid in the vial I carry around. They think it looks… tropical and vibrant. Of course, I refused them. But I had a feeling that if I didn’t provide them with it, they’d try and get it themselves. I was not interested in having to inject an antidote into them, so I came up with a solution.
I know that I am no chef, but this goes outside the realm of cooking. It wasn’t hard to create a sweet drink that would be to [Name]’s liking with the same color. They were more pleased than I thought and demanded that I make it for them more often. I do not care much for nourishment, but perhaps I’ll try my hand at it more often. They have insisted that I send you some, too. So, Traveler, is it to your liking as well? Even if it’s not, I do not care, so don’t bother telling me.
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Dottore and you in it. Despite how much the Traveler has explored Sumeru, they can’t seem to pinpoint the location where it was taken. It must really be a secret place, just for the two of you. Dottore’s mask is on his lap, revealing crimson eyes and scarred skin. You seem to have fallen asleep on his shoulder, as your eyes are closed, though your mouth seems to be agape, perhaps mumbling some nonsense in your sleep. Dottore’s expression is exasperated, but there is a certain fondness in his eyes, one that the Traveler can’t distinguish, or rather, they refuse to believe it. Did the Kamera have an editing function now? Because surely, the photograph must have been forged or something, because there was no way The Doctor could ever have such a tender look in his eyes…
Attached Items:
Strange Blue Concoction [Some kind of legitimate drink that’s the same color as the vial Dottore carries around. According to [Name], it is quite delicious, but would any sane person dare to try anything from The Doctor of all people…? Who knows, these two might be trying to poison the blonde.]
Assortment of Ruin Guard Parts [Parts from Ruin Guards Dottore created and assembled himself. A wide variety of parts are here, including Chaos Cores, Circuits, and Devices. Wait… they seem to all be damaged and broken. Hey, did Dottore just send the Traveler his useless parts?!]

“Care For A Show?”
Sender: Columbina
Hello dear Traveler! How are you?~ Today has been such a wonderful day. Why, you ask? Because it’s my birthday of course! ♪ The one day when I have the ability to drag my beloved [Name] wherever I want, with no resistance. Normally they protest for quite a bit, telling me I have a mountain of work to do but, they don’t need to worry their pretty little head about that. ♫ Is it that much of a crime to slack off to spend time with one’s beloved? But oh, that little routine of ours is something that I do cherish.
My dearest [Name] took me to a play. We were among the first to see it, as it was the opening day. You know, they always tell me that as a Harbinger, I should be more conscious of how I present myself. But is it really a problem to sit in their lap instead of my chair? It’s not like anyone can see us all the way up on the balcony seats, hmm? ♬ Moving on though~ The play was quite an interesting story.
It was of an angel who fell in love with a mere human, despite how taboo it was. When the two were caught, the angel had to decide - would she rather retain their purity and remain in the heavens or fall down, stripped of her divinity to be with her human? Well, if you want to see the ending, you’ll just have to come to Snezhnaya and watch it yourself. ♪ But do tell me Traveler, if you were in a situation like that, what would you choose? … I already know what my choice would be.
Ah, but that show was not even the best part! After that, [Name] put on their own performance for me, just the two of us. It was beautiful of course, the way they convey their choice of art is always worthy of praise. But, they always seem to seek my feedback and criticism… they told me they want to keep improving to make me even more pleased but, how many times do I need to explain to them that I already believe their craft is beautiful? Nevertheless, I do indulge them, if only to satisfy my love. Why don’t you take a look at one of our collaborations, Traveler? It is quite good if I do say so myself. ♫
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Columbina and you in it. The lighting in the theater is a bit dim, so your figures are a bit faded but, the Traveler can still make out the two of you. The two of you have separate chairs but, Columbina is practically spilling onto yours, her head comfortably resting against your chest. You seem as though this is normal for you, which it probably is. Wait, is Columbina sleeping? It seems she probably got bored during the intermission… That’s why you specifically chose your clothes to double as a blanket for your wife.
Attached Items:
Music Score [A music score composed by both you and Columbina. The two of you performed it perfectly together as a present to your wife. Of course, it’s bound to be mesmerizing considering Columbina’s participation. So hauntingly beautiful, that in fact, it might end your life before you get to the end… is that an exaggeration? Well, it seems like the Traveler will have to take that risk.]
Pair of Tickets [Tickets gifted to the Traveler and Paimon. There’s no name on it or any expiration date, so it can be used to watch a single play in Snezhnaya for free, with the best seats in-house, so pick carefully. These things are quite expensive, so don’t go losing them now! Otherwise, Columbina and [Name] might ban the traveling duo from the theater…]

“An Excellent Day.”
Sender: Capitano
Today is my birthday. However, I have never been very adept at celebrating this day. I realize that it is the norm to celebrate one’s birthday, but I have never felt the need to. Though, ever since I became a Harbinger, my recruits have always wished me well today. Unfortunately, when the bolder ones ask me what I have planned, I have nothing interesting to respond with, always prompting them to urge me to do something… In the hallways, I always hear conversations along the lines of even though being a Harbinger is busy, I deserve to do something nice on my birthday. But in reality, it does not bother me at all. Is it really that strange not to do anything on one’s birthday?
When [Name] found out how I normally spend my birthdays, they shared a similar sentiment and promised to make this one “the most eventful and fun and best one I’ve ever had.” They said that since this is our first year together, they need to make my birthday an excellent one. Although I tried to reassure them they needn’t try so hard for me, they were insistent. However, true to their word, I would say my birthday did end up being an excellent one.
One thing about [Name] is they never fail to teach me something new. In this case, they taught me what it means to celebrate a birthday, and I’d say I learned a lot. As stated by them, there is no exact or definite way to celebrate. It is what you make of it. And they, knowing the kind of man I was, chose the activities accordingly. (There were a few mishaps but everything went well for the most part. It is not customary to break a few knives while cutting cake, so I feared that I may have ruined things, but [Name] reassured me it was normal.)
So all in all, today was an excellent day. However, I am faced with a problem now. What should I do when [Name]’s birthday comes? Should I do the same thing they did for me? But would they think that is low effort and unoriginal? I do not wish to disappoint them. Traveler, do you have any ideas? Also, please ask Tartaglia for me as well. The last time I spoke to him, he tried to ask me for a duel.
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Capitano and you in it. The snowy forest terrain looks as picturesque as ever, but what really draws attention is the man and his lover in the middle. Mostly, the Harbinger who has a squirrel or two perched on him, not to mention the few birds that made their nest in the fluff of his coat. And even some cats? Where did they come from?! Well, it’s best not to question it. It’s rather endearing. Rather, one should question how silent and unmoving the Captain is in an effort to not disturb all the animals. Just ignore the deer in the background waiting for some attention too.
Attached Items:
How To Celebrate Your Birthday Pamphlet [A collaboration between Capitano’s Fan Club and [Name]. The fan club loves you immensely because you help to put their long-awaited plans into action. The numerous activities in this guide (blowing out the candles, feeding each other cake, gift giving, lots of affection, etc) were written out by the club and dutifully carried out by you. There were also birthday punches, but Capitano was confused as to why you were tickling him.]
Capitano and [Name]’s Picture Book [Don’t tell anyone this, but Capitano has a tendency to name all the creatures of the forest near his mansion. At first, he went there to train, but decided against it after seeing all the animals around there, because he doesn’t want to scare them away. What he did not expect was to befriend all of them… you came across him one day talking to them after searching for him. How can he tell them apart? Even you don’t know. But this book is dedicated to all of his animal friends, with pictures taken by you of course. So if the Traveler happens to visit Snezhnaya someday, make sure to be nice to these little guys!]

“They’re Annoying…”
Sender: Wanderer
It is that time of year again when my birthday rolls around. You know very well I do not care much for this day, but once again, there are always annoyances at my every turn… Both Lesser Lord Kusanali and [Name] always prove to be a thorn in my side on this day. In the past, I usually spent my birthdays under the sakura trees in Inazuma, visiting [Name]. But, things have changed now. I no longer am who I once was, and my relationship with [Name] is no longer the same. They have forgotten me, and our past together… but Lesser Lord Kusanali has forced us to interact again numerous times, leading to our current relationship. Lesser Lord Kusanali always pats my back, saying that time will lead us back to each other… how irritating.
Speaking of her being irritating, she decided to tell [Name] that today was my birthday, a horrible decision. Now, they’ve run all over Sumeru looking for me, until they finally found me in the House of Daena. Panting and gasping for air, all I could hear was them sincerely apologizing over and over for not knowing my birthday. They promised they’d get me a late birthday gift, even though I kept repeating that it was unnecessary. Unfortunately, it has always been hard to get things through their thick skull. All I know for sure is that Lesser Lord Kusanali definitely planned this and that she will tease me to no end the next time I see her…
Still, they dragged me through Sumeru City. According to them, they knew I wouldn’t like anything too fancy, so they brought me to an alleyway. Your typical textbook dark and narrow one. And at the end were… cats. Many of them. [Name] turned to me with a smile and said they bet I didn’t know about this secret kitty haven, and that it was a perfect gift for someone like me. I do wonder if Sumeru’s sun has made them crazy sometimes.
But, this birthday wasn’t as boring as I thought it’d be. So… that’s nice, I guess. Actually, Lesser Lord Kusanali had assigned me a paper to write. A paper on [Name], on my own birthday. She said that she wasn’t going to read or check it, but it was for my sake. How preposterous, right? How would anything like that help me?
But tonight… I feel as though I’ll make some progress on it.

A picture is included with the letter that has Wanderer and you in it. The puppet is at the top of the ladder in the House of Daena, searching for books (most likely forced to by the Dendro Archon), but your figure can be made out at the bottom. You seem to be waving and beckoning him to come down, so he can have a good time with you for his birthday. Wanderer doesn’t seem very excited about it, but… he will always indulge you, the person he can’t deny he loves. Hmm? Why is he using a ladder instead of his Anemo powers? Well, perhaps the puppet doesn’t like drawing attention to himself.
Attached Items:
Essay Concerning Inazuman Society and Politics [An essay Wanderer has written during his time spent in Vahumana. What, did the Traveler really think he’d send the essay he wrote about [Name]? However, Paimon couldn’t make it through the title page, and even the Traveler struggled through it. But, it seems to be your favorite essay of his, considering all the notes you made in it, not to mention the noodles you drew when you got bored… Wanderer probably scolded you for that but, it’s never in bad faith.]
Tricolor Dango [A plate of dango that [Name] brought for Wanderer as a treat. It seems that they are unaware of his dislike of sweet food… But the puppet did not want to hurt their feelings considering the thought and effort they put into his birthday, so he did not decline it.]

“A Lavish Tea Party.”
Sender: Sandrone
Unbeknownst to me, [Name] recently had a variety of sweets from Fontaine imported. It seemed like they tinkered with my bots once again, to get them on their side so I would remain in the dark… they can be such a hassle to deal with sometimes. However, this means that their skills are ever improving, as I’ve been improving my Automatons to be much more complex. As expected of my assistant. Speaking of, they’ve also imported some other things that I’ve been wanting for a while. Hopefully, they’re up to standard this time, or they’ll have to be returned. Ugh, I hate dealing with the Ninth whenever that happens…
Though back to the subject, it seems that [Name] has once again needlessly gone out of their way, since today is my date of birth. Although I don’t like being distracted from my research, and I see no need to waste time just because I happened to be born today, this break that [Name] has prepared for me isn’t too bad. I have not attended a proper tea party in far too long. The fools I have for agents can never set it up correctly.
[Name] is not someone who dresses up very often, but they always make the effort to match their attire with mine. Something that other people should learn from, but alas. Though, I wish they did it more often. Not even the most well-crafted doll could match their beauty. Have I told them that? No, they should be smart enough to figure that out by themselves.
Regardless, I must cut this letter short. After this, I want to work on an Automaton with [Name]. I have held off on it because they have expressed interest in it, and since we are together now, it is the perfect time to work on it. I was expecting them to get huffy at me working today, but it seems that they are pleased to work with me. I wonder why.
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Sandrone and you in it. A wide array of treats and sweets are plated on numerous platters, along with ceramic tea cups waiting to be filled with piping hot tea. The surrounding robots are also fashioned in a similar style as her, perfect attire for the tea party, holding additional trays of desserts. (Can these robots eat too?) You’re pouring your wife her favorite kind of tea as you’ve already set her plate, while she sits patiently with her hands folded. Despite Sandrone’s doll-like features, one can see a small smile on her face.
Attached Items:
Instructions For A Perfect Tea Party [Sandrone’s set of instructions as to how a perfect tea party is conducted. Some of the rules seem nonsensical and impossible to many, which is why no Fatui agent can ever live up to the Harbinger’s expectations, as she will not accept anything less than what she desires. However, you are the only person who has managed to fulfill all the rules to a tee, which is one of the reasons she greatly favors you. Sending this list to the Traveler and Paimon is also her way of saying they are never invited as they will never be able to fulfill the rules in a way that satisfies her… how rude!]
Clockwork Toy of Sandrone [A Harbinger toy from Leschots Clockwork Workshop in Fontaine. They seem to have dabbled in making toys of the Harbingers as they said they would, and who better to start with than the machinery genius herself? Of course, Sandrone can point out numerous flaws with the design and components, and probably criticized it heavily to you, but you still seem to love it, because it’s of her! Unfortunately, your wife doesn’t like that very much… why settle for something inferior when you could have it in much higher quality? So the Harbinger decided to make a toy of herself that lives up to her standard. The Traveler can have the faulty one…]

“Another Year Passes…”
Sender: La Signora
In the past, I used to be quite fond of birthdays. In Mondstadt, I would always celebrate it with him every year. But after he died, birthdays left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I never dared think about doing anything on this day ever again. How could I, when he was no longer by my side? But today is my birthday again, and I find myself happy. Why? Because of [Name], the person who taught me how to love again. Admittedly, I pushed away the idea at first. But after some more reflection, I decided it wouldn’t be fair to [Name]. The past is the past, and the present is the present. If [Name] wants to make me feel special on my birthday, then who am I to stop them?
And indeed they did pamper me. They always pamper me but, today it was much more than normal. Breakfast in bed, massages, hair brushing, helping me put on my clothes, opening doors for me, fancy dinner and wine after work. I don’t think there was a single moment where they weren’t trying to do something for me. It gave me a good chuckle, which made them embarrassed. But truly, it made me happy. I had… forgotten what it feels like to be cared for on my birthday. It’s a foreign feeling but, I hope that the foreignness eventually goes away after some time.
However, I must tell them that there’s no need to overexert themselves just because it is my birthday. Although I do enjoy the extra treatment, it does neither of us any good for them to fall asleep before the night is even over. But, that’s okay. There is always next year, yes?
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Signora and you in it. You are fast asleep on the Fair Lady’s lap, a peaceful expression on your face. A similar one is on Signora’s, as there is no one else around, and she can let her guard down around you. There are a few of her flame moths scattered around the room as well, a few on the two of you. As her blonde hair spills onto your face and body, one can only guess what she is thinking.
Attached Items:
Tea Break Pancakes [Despite Signora’s history with her home nation, it’s said that she still enjoys the cuisine from there. So, you like to cook her food from there whenever you can. It might not be as good as a professional’s but it provides her a taste of home. A taste of your love, which is her favorite flavor.]
Rose [It’s no secret that roses are Signora’s favorite flower. Beautiful yet thorny, alluring yet dangerous. There are many kinds of roses with all sorts of meanings in this world, but you two have been seen exchanging only one kind - a red one. Whatever could it mean?]

“Birthdays…”
Sender: Pantalone
When I was a child, birthdays did not mean much to me. After all, how could one focus on their date of birth when it seemed like life was full of nothing but curses and suffering? It was only another day of working to survive. But when I met [Name], they changed that. With them, the day began to have… meaning. Purpose. It wasn’t anything grand, but they made it special, distracting me from another day of poverty. Even with their meager earnings, they never failed to gift me something, even if it was of little to no value, or not the best quality… I cherished it. No one else had ever thought of me so much. When I look back, every time my birthday came around again, my love for them only grew more.
Now that we are adults, my only wish is to repay their kindness and spoil them with as many gifts as they deserve. However, there are a few issues with this. There are times I find myself more disappointed with the world than usual because it has yet to create something that would be a suitable gift that would be on par with my love for my dear [Name]. However, whenever my spouse gifts me something, their thoughtfulness never ceases to amaze me. How is it that they always manage to gift me something wonderful and touching? When I questioned them about this, they raised an eyebrow and gave me a strange look. It seems that I will not learn their secret anytime soon. How unfortunate.
Not to mention, dearest [Name] gets upset when I spend “ludicrous amounts of money” (their words) on them, especially on my birthday, so they’ve “forbidden” me from doing so today. They are rather persistent on this, and their long lectures and expressions are rather amusing, so I’ll indulge them… for now. Do you think they realize I’ll just spend double the amount the next day? Regardless, birthdays are always well spent with [Name], and I plan to enjoy this one fully, just as I have in the past because they are the one who makes my birthday a day worth celebrating.
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Pantalone and you in it. The two of you are taking a walk in Snezhnaya, browsing stores and the like. Even though it is Pantalone’s birthday, he seems insistent on trying to buy out a few stores for you once again… so in order to prevent him from doing that, you’ve hidden yourself in his coat, stopping him from walking properly. The Harbinger seems rather entertained by your antics and your head popping out of his coat… he should make you do this more often. It’s perfect for head pats.
Attached Items:
Pantalone’s Spare Change [As it is his birthday, Pantalone is feeling more generous than usual, so he is sending a bit of funds to the Traveler. There is no need for any repayment, take it as a symbol of the Fatui’s goodwill. (However, it would do good to proceed with caution… this is the Ninth, after all.) Opening it up, the duo expects to see an average amount of money, but instead are presented with a couple of million Mora… if this is what Pantalone is willing to send to the Traveler, how much does he spend on [Name]?! Paimon doesn’t want to imagine the number!]
[Name]’s Guide to Gift Giving [A piece written by you to detail how you always choose the best gift for Pantalone, unbeknownst to your husband. Opening it up, the Traveler is very curious as to how you manage to win over the Harbinger every time, a man who has everything he could possibly want at his fingertips. But instead, only one sentence is written on the paper - “I don’t know how I do it either.”]

“Appreciation.”
Sender: Arlecchino
Birthdays were not very much celebrated in the House of Hearth, especially when the former Knave was around. However, that changed when [Name] came along. Years ago, I still remember when they gifted Lynette her first tea cup set. Freminet, a collection of spare parts that he ended up using to make another clockwork toy. And probably the biggest hassle… gifting little Lyney a white rabbit. However, I do appreciate my lover’s efforts. The children always look forward to their birthdays much more now, some even going as far as to drop hints about their desired gift and give puppy eyes to [Name] when the time rolls around. I have to remind my children not to get greedy, and to be grateful for what they already have…
I also remember the first birthday they gifted me something as well. A part of me expected it, considering the way they behaved, but still, it was an… unfamiliar feeling, to be gifted something. And, it was also the day little Lyney and Lynette presented their first amateur magic show to me. Of course, they had much to improve on, but looking back it was a suitable birthday gift, considering how much I’ve seen the two grow now. Needless to say, I appreciate [Name] very much, for what they have given me and my children.
My birthday has come once more, and [Name] is celebrating it as they always feel the need to. Really, even if they did nothing, I would still appreciate it, considering all they’ve done. The sweets they gathered this time were exceptional, and we had a lovely chat, before taking a walk through Fontaine. They say that the flowers that grow in the wild are always the prettiest, especially the Rainbow Roses.
Ah, last of all, if you could do me a favor, that would be greatly appreciated. You have been in Fontaine for a while now, yes? It would be a great help to me if you could point me to some good operas. [Name] and I have watched many in Snezhnaya, however, we don’t often have the chance to watch any in Fontaine, with our work and all. Thank you. And please, do not bore me or waste my time.
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Arlecchino and you in it. You two are sitting in a field in Fontaine somewhere, with Rainbow Roses to the side. One of them has been tucked into the Harbinger’s hair, while you seem to be focusing on creating… a flower crown? Despite the pinkness of the rose greatly contrasting with Arlecchino’s whole dark red, black, and white look, she seems to not mind your antics and waits patiently for you to complete your work of art. Of course, as a Fontainian, she knows very well what Rainbow Roses symbolize, and won’t turn down the physical manifestation of your feelings.
Attached Items:
List of Yummy Hidden Gems [A list of great places to buy sweets from in Fontaine, courtesy of [Name], passed on by Arlecchino. Sure, Hotel Debord and Café Lutece do have some excellent sweets, but there are many hidden restaurants and bakeries that provide delicious treats as well! Do stop by and give them a try. Arlecchino favors many of their products. If one needs a similar list for the other nations, do tell.]
Slice of Birthday Cake [An exquisite slice of cake cut from Arlecchino’s birthday cake. She doesn’t care much for the tradition, but [Name] always buys one anyway as an excuse to treat the children from the House to something nice. You know you shouldn’t spoil them so much, but you can’t help it!]

“Splash!”
Sender: Tartaglia
Hey comrade! How have you been? Sorry if my handwriting isn’t the best. I sparred with [Name] for my birthday, and they really roughed me up. Not that I mind, I asked them to go all out. Normally they don’t like fighting with me, because they always insist they don’t like hurting me, but they couldn’t say no to me today. You know, I would like to see the two of you fight. It would be an exhilarating experience.
But anyway, after they patched me up, we took a dive in Fontaine’s waters! You know, whenever I visit Liyue, we often go to cool off in Yaoguang Shoal, but Fontaine’s oceans are so much different. The scenery, the terrain, the greenery, the wildlife… good thing I bought them a waterproof Kamera. Speaking of wildlife, [Name] and I befriended a blubberbeast. [Name] instantly fell in love with the creature, and I feel as though they gave a bit too much attention to it, but, seeing them smile is the best gift I could ever ask for. Maybe I should gift them a plushie of it? However, it is a bit amusing that something that looks as defenseless as that could pack such a punch!
Did you know this, Traveler? Apparently, Romaritime Flowers represent loyalty. [Name] gifted me a bouquet which I was initially confused about since I usually give them flowers instead. But after some quick research, these flowers mean unbreaking oaths. It was a bit ironic really, for I should have gifted them instead as I always swore to be loyal to them, my family, and the Tsaritsa, but it was a wonderful gift. Not to mention the delicious meal they prepared. They’ve been busy researching the best Fontaine recipes for me, so I could make them for Teucer and the others back home, but maybe I should just drag them to Snezhnaya so they could do it instead… I never leave anything but empty plates whenever [Name] cooks for me, but they’ve packaged some for you too, Traveler!
Next time we fight at the Golden House, I’ll bring [Name] along too. Do you think you can hold your own against both of us at the same time?
Attached Photograph:
A picture is included with the letter that has Childe and you in it. You two are under the sea, with a Blubberbeast between the two of you. The creature is nudging you while Childe looks on amused. It seems that it’s been begging for some more attention, food, and head pats. Maybe some tummy rubs too. Apparently, you named it Big Cutie, because well… it’s a big cutie! Unfortunately, it seems to have a little bit of a grudge against the Harbinger because he accidentally attacked it.
Attached Items:
[Name]’s Special Macarons [Rainbow Macarons but with a special twist from [Name]. On the top and bottom of the sweet treat are… faces? Very detailed ones too, with colored hair and eyes! Ah, the faces are none other than [Name], Childe, Teucer, and all of his other siblings! Oh, and macarons of Traveler and Paimon were made as well, how kind! Childe says they’re quite delicious, and he is a great cook, so they must be.]
Freshly Caught Fish [Fish caught by Childe. It seems that the two lovers also went fishing after diving a bit, as one knows how much Childe loves to fish. Sadly, your fishing skills still pale in comparison compared to his and you barely caught anything… That’s alright though! No matter how long it takes, he’ll always happily help you hone your skills!]

Childhood Sweethearts | Bakugo Katsuki
Summary | You moved to America when you were young, having to leave behind your childhood sweetheart. After moving back to Japan, you'll find out if things have changed between you two
Content | Fluff, honestly I can't think of any warnings for this so let me know if you see anything that needs a warning
Word Count | 1.7k+
A/N | I love the idea of Bakugo being in love with someone through his whole life, I have no idea why. At the time of posting, I wrote this forever ago
It had been almost 5 whole years since you moved away. You missed home. It wasn't like you'd wanted to move away in the first place, but your dad's job took you away from Japan all the way to America.
Finally, at 18 years old, you finally convinced your parents to allow you to move home. Having attended an elite hero school for the past 2 years, you managed to have some special arrangements made for your return home.
And so, that is how you got to where you are now, nervously walking down the halls of UA next to Principal Nezu. He had spent the first half hour of the morning before classes began showing you around and explaining a few things to you.
At the start of homeroom at 8:25AM, he walks you to the classroom of Class 3-A, the class you will be joining, starting today.
Everyone looks over as the door opens, the principal strolling in and standing at the front of the class. You follow nervously. These people have had nearly 3 whole years to get to know each other, and here you are, the new girl joining in the final year, not knowing anyone.
At least, you didn't think you knew anyone, until you force yourself to look at the class properly.
Your eyes immediately fall on a blond boy in the second row. His own eyes are widened, locked onto you. A moment later, you rip your eyes away from him, prompting him to look away also.
When you realise Nezu has stopped speaking and is now looking at you, you snap out of it and look at the whole class.
"My name is Y/N. I have two Quirks, which I am sure I will have more time sometime soon to explain. I look forward to spending this year with you." You say and bow slightly to the class.
Your homeroom teacher, Aizawa, points you to your assigned seat, so you sit down quietly, not saying another word.
It isn't until lunch, almost four hours later, that you say anything else, besides answering questions in class. Your fourth period was English with Present Mic. Having lived in an English-speaking country for almost 5 years, it was quite an easy class for you.
Almost as soon as you are dismissed from class, you're surrounded by people, wanting to talk to you, get to know you. You're fine with that, but you did have someone else you wanted to talk to. They already walked out the door though.
"Y/N!" Someone says, popping up in front of you out of nowhere.
"Izuku!" You smile, excitedly throwing your arms around your old friend.
You see a brown-haired girl blushing as she watches you hugging Midoriya.
"I can't believe you're here! I didn't know you were coming back!"
You nod. "I know, I'm sorry I didn't say anything."
He shakes his head, wanting to reassure you. "It's okay! We fell out of touch, that's not anyone's fault."
Izuku invites you to spend lunch break with him and his friends, being introduced to them all, him explaining a little about how he got into UA at all.
After classes have finished for the day, you don't give Bakugo the chance to run. As soon as you're dismissed from class, you walk over to his desk, standing in front of it and resting your hands on the surface.
"It's nice to see you again, Katsuki." You smirk.
He looks up at you from his chair briefly, quickly looking away. “Yeah, it is.”
You lean down so you’re closer to his height, him still avoiding eye contact. “Would you mind walking me back to the dorm? I haven’t actually been there yet, Nezu didn’t have time to take me.”
He tuts but stands up, picking up his bag and slinging it over your shoulder. Not saying a thing, he leaves the classroom, you following him. You know what he’s like, you know to follow.
As soon as you're out of the halls and outside, he decides to say something. "I didn't know you were coming back." He mutters.
You're just happy to hear him say something to you. "Yeah. I know."
He takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry."
You pause where you are, stunned. You hadn't expected him to apologise to you.
When you don't say anything, he sighs and turns to you, also stopping walking. "I shouldn't have stopped responding. I was upset you were gone, and I went about things in the stupidest way. I... I regret it."
It takes a moment for you to say anything, blinking in shock. "It's okay." You smile brightly up at him. "I understand. It was hard on both of us, after all."
"Yeah, but I ghosted you. I shouldn't have done that. Not to you, you don't deserve that."
"I agree you shouldn't have done it, dummy. But I'm saying I understand, okay?"
He smiles a little, looking down at you. "Come on, let's go to the dorms." He tugs on your backpack, indicating that you should take it off. When you do, he slings one strap over his shoulder, carrying it for you.
"Since when did you become a gentleman?" You ask with a small laugh, making him grunt a 'shut up' to you, his cheeks going slightly pink.
Finally reaching the dorms, Bakugo opens the door for you, letting you into the large building.
Everyone else is already there, the people in the communal area looking at you as you enter. Other than Izuku, people seem a little surprised to see you with Bakugo, and even more surprised that he doesn't look as annoyed as he typically does.
With everyone staring, Katsuki shoves your bag back into your arms before walking over to the stairs to go to his room.
You smile a little as you watch him, shaking your head.
Izuku is the first person to come up to you, smiling. "Everyone wants to get to know you a little. If you have some time, come sit with us?"
You do what he says, walking over and taking a seat between him and a boy with a black streak in mostly blond hair.
You end up spending a couple hours with them, telling them about your Quirk and what it's like to live in America. When they ask about you seemingly already knowing both Izuku and Katsuki, you tell them that you grew up with them.
A girl with pink skin, who you learn is Mina, asks you for some stupid stories about them as kids, Izuku going red and telling you that you don't have to talk about anything you don't want to, trying to save himself the embarrassment.
Even though you're unsure if Bakugo will be annoyed at you for telling them this, you also tell them a few stories from when you and him were dating before you left for America.
Everyone seems surprised, a small uproar coming from the class. No one had ever even seen an indication that he had ever been interested in anyone, yet alone had a girlfriend. It appeared to be a ludicrous idea to most of them.
Kaminari seems to deflate a little upon realising you dated one of his best friends. Guess he thought you were pretty.
Not long after, you go find your room, needing to unpack. Right before you close the door, a foot stops it from closing. A second later, Bakugo comes into view.
"Well, hello there." You smirk a little, looking up at him.
He smirks back, placing a hand on the doorframe, standing in front of you. "Hey. Care if I come in?"
You move out the way for him to come in but tell him it's a little messy because you're still unpacking.
He doesn't even look at the room, closing the door as soon as he's inside and standing close to you, essentially pinning you between him and the door.
That's when you really realise how much he's changed. He's so much taller now than when you last saw him, his shoulders broader, entire body more muscular, a few visible scars now. The whole thing makes you a little flustered.
"So, do you have a little American boyfriend now?" He asks with a slight snarl, expression turning into a smirk as soon as you shake your head. "No? Then, would you mind if I kissed you?" He whispers in your ear.
You don't verbally respond, but the look on your face gives him the answer he needs. He keeps one hand on the wall, the other coming to rest on your waist, leaning in and pressing his lips against yours. Your own hands find your way to his chest, gripping onto his shirt.
A moment later, he pulls away a little, smirking. "Guess we haven't missed a beat, huh?"
You laugh, not letting go of his shirt. "Suki, you're an ass." You say, making him laugh too.
"Yeah, but you love it." He whispers, leaning in to kiss you again. "It's starting to get late, and you haven't finished unpacking yet. If you wanted to stay in my room tonight, you're welcome to."
You look up at him, a little surprised by the proposal. When he sees the look on your face, he panics a small amount. "I didn't mean it like that! I meant we can spend the night sleeping together- no, not sleeping together! Not like that! I just meant- we- we can- I meant-"
You giggle at his nervousness, making him look a little angry. You move your hands to rest on his cheeks, standing on your tiptoes and smashing your lips against his.
When you finally break the kiss again, both a little breathless, he stares at you, mouth open slightly.
"Sorry, I had to find a way to shut you up." You smile. "I'd love to cuddle tonight, Suki."
He looks relieved, taking your hand. "Come on, let's go."
You spend the rest of the night in Bakugo's dorm, cuddling and eventually falling asleep in his bed.
Before he falls asleep, he spends a few moments just watching you, barely being able to believe that he got lucky enough to get you back into his life. He gives you a soft kiss on the forehead, holding you tighter, closing his own eyes and falling asleep.

Ranking the Reptiles of Vintage Men's Magazines
Men's pulp magazines have some of the wildest paintings for their cover art, and some of those feature lizards. Let's rank them!
We are NOT ranking these on accuracy or believability, we are ranking these on how much fun I, your good friend kaijutegu, find them to look at. These were never trying to be accurate. They were trying to sell magazines. Also I'm not allowed to critique human anatomy or we will be here all day.

This man is beset by wantons who ruined a nation! These dragons he's crawling with took him for a one-way ride, and now he has to pistol whip them until they stop biting his leg. I love how these lizards have more than a hint of rhino iguana to them, as well as the Crystal Palace megalosaurus. A tier.

This man looks shocked to discover that sex can be fun. I know, I don't believe it either. The snakes are interesting- I really love the lurid green fangs and tongue on the guy in front, but I would like to see more. B tier, I'm just not all that into it but I am intrigued.
NOW we're talking, this cover has it ALL. Come to beautiful san antonio where our women are clearly wearing skin-colored shirts underneath their regular shirts so they can breast boobily without worrying about a nip slip and our turtles are pissed. S tier.
This cover gets points for the painterly style, but loses them for the rude-ass man. The sex queen of Sicily and the cannibal crocodile they couldn't kill were just having a nice dance, and along comes this man and... how did he make that shot actually? B+ tier.
See that crocodile in the foreground? My lizard makes the exact face when she's begging for sushi. A tier.
There's something so charming to me about the way GIVE ME BACK MY ARM is phrased and like, two of you are going to get what it's pinging in my head but bear with me. Back in the day (literally 20 years ago at this point, jfc), the USPS put out this "put yourself in my shoes" safety notice about controlling your dog, and the goons over at Something Awful got hold of it and decided to have some fun with it and one of the remixes they made, the thing that started a whole big ol' meme thread that got turned into a CG post, was this one:
Something about the GIVE ME BACK MY ARM reminded me of this. Anyways I loved that thread, A tier, thanks for the memories.
I know I said that these were never meant to be accurate, but look at this one, the guy CLEARLY was looking at a reference for this alligator! Don't know why he drew the glottis like that, though. A tier.
Oh this, this I love. Incomprehensible snakes taking their babies on a field trip? Adorable! A tier!
The tongue doesn't go in the glottis. D tier, I know I said they weren't trying for accuracy but come on.
These selfless lizards know that this man is unfit for married love and are trying to rescue that woman from an awful fate. She's going to wed that man, but she's making a huge mistake, and they know it and they're powerless to stop her- but they're gonna try, by god. This is Good Luck, Babe! but with lizards instead of Joan of Arc at the VMAs. It's fine, it's cool, S+ tier.

pairing -> fem!reader x lewis hamilton
word count -> 2.2k
warnings -> lewis in bf mode, slight angst, cursing, alcohol usage, marijuana use, sexual innuendos, lewis is a FLIRT, reader is slightly insecure, some tears, hurt + comfort (THE BEST TROPE EVER)
a/n -> i am well aware this is not in the garage, but i just can’t stop thinking about this concept. i hope i did it justice!

“you look beautiful.”
heat flourishes into your cheeks, your palms clamming as his hand drifts toward your thigh, grasping the heated skin. he flashes you a smirk as his thumb delves underneath the fabric of your gown.
“easy there,” you murmur, head connecting with his shoulder, “we don’t want to be late.”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“i think a few minutes wouldn’t—“
“lewis.” you tut, and he picks up the way your eyes roll in the rear view mirror, “i’m already an anxious wreck. now is not the time.”
“i’m just trying to put a smile on that sweet face,” he counters, yet his tone is light, “you’ve just been so uptight today. all i’ve seen for hours is that tight-lipped frown. the one you wear when you’re dreading something or super worried.”
you shrug, gaze darting toward the passenger window, “i just hate work-related events. especially around the holidays. why do they even matter?”
as fate would have it, your boyfriend, lewis hamilton, would be accompanying you to a gala hosted by your agency. it was the annual holiday ball, where all of the employees were invited to dress their best, encouraged to bring along a plus one.
due to lewis’ hectic schedule during the year, it was difficult to find a window of time to see one another. add in a time zone difference along with your own line of work, and it was almost impossible.
however, lewis made no exceptions when it came to you.
if it was something involving you, he would find time.
no matter what.
and just a couple of days ago, he flew into chicago, so that he could be with you for all of the holiday celebrations. although you had only been dating for about a year, you knew it was time to introduce him to not only your family, but your coworkers as well.
so what better way to introduce him than a work-related party?
yet, it wasn’t that easy.
lewis was no ordinary man. he was a seven time world champion, a highly decorated and coveted athlete in his sport. he spent his weekends driving at speeds well over two hundred miles an hour. he was sponsored by tommy hilfiger, owned a brand, and was even knighted.
he was well-known all around the world, even by those who were not formula one fans.
everyone knew sir lewis hamilton.
and what the world didn’t know, was that he had a girlfriend.
an american girl, merely twenty-three years old.
so naturally, you were a little apprehensive about tonight.
especially if people started to snap photos and post them.
that aspect was the most terrifying part of it all. what would people think? what would his fans say about you? what rumors would the tabloids and gossip pages spin?
how would people perceive you? how would they see your relationship with lewis? would they hate you? like you? think you’re pretty? what if lewis broke up with you because you weren’t good enough for his fans?
what if?
what if?
what if?
his hand squeezes your thigh, bringing you back to earth, “they’re important because your coworkers are like a second family. i know that sounds corny, but it’s true, especially at an agency like yours.
you guys see one another for nearly forty hours a week. i think it’s only fair you attend one work-related event. even around the holidays. who knows, some of your coworkers may not even have a family to come home to. so that’s why they enjoy events like this.”
letting out a huff, you shift your body to your right, in the direction of the window. a brassy chuckle rumbles in his throat, flowing from his plush lips.
“you know i’m right, love. that’s why you’re pouting over there.”
inhaling a sharp breath, you then exhale, shaking your head. the words are low, barely a whisper.
“maybe it’s because i don’t want everyone at work knowing about my private life.”
“oh baby girl,” lewis hums. you feel his grip on your thigh tighten, “is that what’s been bothering you?”
“y-yeah.”
your lower lip trembles, promising of tears. the golden lights of the city morph together as your vision blurs, the car soaring down lake shore drive. a steady hand dials the volume of the music down, his arm intertwining with yours.
just for a second, you feel his eyes pull away from the road, taking in the way you’re practically clinging to him, desperate for some comfort.
“talk to me love. tell me what’s going on.”
“i-i just,” you stammer, choking back sobs, “i just don’t like how my worlds are colliding. it makes me scared because it feels so… so… serious. i am terrified that you’re not going to like it here. or that you’re not going to like me.. the real me. and i just don’t want you to be bothered all night by people gawking or pointing or whispering.”
before you can even register what’s happening, lewis is pulling into the venue. as he places the car in park, waiting for the valet, you notice his jaw tighten, his adam’s apple bobbing as he swallows.
his brows are pinched together, his lips slightly pursed. his body shifts, the chain resting on his collarbone glittering in the low light. his chest heaves, almost as if he was panting, fighting something he couldn’t quite control.
almost as if his inhibitions were crumbling away by the second.
fingers curl around the base of your neck, pulling you in close. lewis cocks his head, tongue running along his lips as he studies you.
your pupils are wide, irises slightly glossy from the tears and the half-smoked joint tucked away in your clutch. your lips glimmer, shiny from the new lip oil he bought.
it was a shade he picked out hours ago, one that suited you oh so perfectly. he was satisfied with that pick, as it brought out colors in your eyes he never had noticed before. they were absolutely stunning, nearly pulling him in as he slowly fell further and further under your spell.
your hair was swept into an elegant style, one that you had never worn for him before. the way you managed to pull just about anything off left him speechless, struggling to find the words as his gaze wandered.
the gown clinging to your frame was stunning. it was a simple black piece adorned with crystal detailing on the bodice, sleeves, and skirt. it was a piece by elie saab, one of the top designers in the realm of gowns. very slyly, he was able to get your measurements one day on a whim, sending them over as quickly as possible.
he researched dozens upon dozens of gems and crystals so that he could find colors that reminded him of you. it was a gown that took months to perfect, as lewis started the moment you texted him about the event. he even had it flown over to the states with him, just so that he knew it wouldn’t get misplaced or damaged.
it was a one-of-one piece, made specifically for you and only you.
and to lewis, that was priceless.
he couldn’t tell you that, though. it was his little secret, meant to be divulged when he felt the moment was right.
“lewis,” the way his name falls from your lips is enticing, dripping with a sweetness he found himself addicted to, “they need to park the car.”
“oh,” he blinks, realizing that the attendant was waiting right outside, “shit. sorry.”
gritting your teeth, your can feel your heart thudding as lewis slips out of the car, chirping a greeting to the attendant. he makes his way around the front end, opening the door on your right.
he offers you his arm, bearing a wide smile. one of his trademark grins that nearly had you melting, your knees buckling as you took a step forward.
the agency you worked for was able to rent the art institute for the evening, transforming it to a wondrous winter-themed ball. all around there was a warm glow from candles, illuminating the vast space with golden light. people mill about, laughter intermingling with the clinking of glasses and music.
as you cling on to lewis, you feel your muscles tense, the pit in your stomach only growing by the second. fuck, there were more people than you expected. and of course, heads were starting to turn. ducking your head, you avoid any eye contact, hoping that lewis locates your table as soon as humanly possible.
this was just too much.
“easy there love,” his mouth ghosts over your ear, “i got you. i promise.”
“as long as you promise,” you mutter, shrinking slightly as you pass by a few people from the agency. there are a few gasps, hushed murmurs erupting as he manages to find your table, pulling your chair out.
“lewis, they’re staring.”
“let them."
in that moment, you want to sink into the chair. maybe even into the floor. beside you, lewis takes your hand, interlocking his fingers with yours. he brings your knuckles to his lips, peppering them with tender kisses.
"you want a drink? it may help."
exhaling a shaky breath, your eyes dart around, noticing a cluster of your coworkers approaching the table. yet, you feel his attention remain solely on you, paying no mind to the women starting to swarm around. his fingers massage into your hand, his shoe pressed against your heel.
"why didn't you tell us you were dating a celebrity?"
"you're dating lewis hamilton? how long have you been dating? how did you meet?"
"i can't believe you didn't share this with us!"
lewis' head tilts upward, dimples forming as he flashes them a dazzling smile, "me? a celebrity? i'm not so sure about that. you may have me mistaken for someone else."
"no," your coworker, vanessa, shakes her head, "i know exactly who you are. you're sir lewis hamilton. seven-time formula world champion."
"how did you manage to land him?" another one of your coworkers arches a brow, "because never in a million years would i have--"
"i'm with her because i love her," lewis cuts in, his kindness rapidly dissolving into a polite yet firm tone, "it shouldn't matter what she does for work, or if she's an influencer or model. fuck, she could be unemployed and i wouldn't care. i love her for who she is. that's how she 'landed me.' she's absolutely wonderful. now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to go over to the bar."
your coworkers' eyes widen, their mouths clamping shut as lewis dips his head, motioning for you to get up. his hands grip the back of your seat, tugging the chair toward him. rising to your feet, you take his hand, fighting to maintain a straight face.
once you were out of earshot, lewis clears his throat, "how about we ditch this and go out to eat? how does that sound? we could go to that one restaurant you have been begging me to take you to."
"are you sure?" you press, "i don't want to make you feel as if i dragged you all the way out here only to stay for--"
"don't worry about it love," the driver leads you toward the exit, carefully discarding his suit jacket, "here, you'll need this. it was a bit nippier than i expected out."
as he drapes the jacket around your shoulders, you can't help but feel your heart swell, bliss rippling in your chest. taking your clutch out of your grasp, he holds onto it, clicking his tongue.
"a beautiful woman like you should never have to hold her bag. let me flag down the valet, and then we can go out. just you and me, yeah?"
the corners of your lips twitch, curling into a meek smile, "i would really like that."
"then it's settled," fishing his phone out of his pocket, his eyes scan over the sign resting on the podium, dialing the number for the attendant, "just so you know, people may snap some photos while we're out. are you okay with that? is it going to bother you? if so, then we can just go back to your place and order some--"
"i think i'll manage," you can't help but giggle at his concern, "as long as you hold my hand, i'll be fine."
"oh my love," a hand drifts toward your cheek, cupping it. the pad of his thumb caresses your cheekbone, the driver's heart fluttering as you nuzzle into his palm.
"your celebrity boyfriend loves you very much. you know that?"
"i do," you nod, "and i love my celebrity boyfriend. oh so much."
lewis leans in, his lips nearly on yours. his eyes lock with yours, his nose studs glinting as your head instinctively tilts back, anticipating what was to come next. he catches the shimmer of stars bursting in your depths as the tip of nose brushes yours.
"i'm not sure how much longer your celebrity boyfriend can contain himself. especially when you're so fucking stunning. i can't bear it a second longer. i need you."
"then kiss me," you counter, "and if someone sees, oh well."
"oh yeah?" he taunts, "you want someone to see?"
"maybe," heat rises in your cheeks as his lips tease yours, "maybe it's time that people know lewis hamilton has a girlfriend."
a chuckle rings out, lewis bringing you closer as the valet turns around the corner, the car approaching closer and closer.
"oh my love, i think it's time the entire world knows."
