rafe runs a hand through his freshly buzzed hair, rolling his eyes at your reaction.

"it's summer. fuckin' hot as hell. and it was getting too long, anyways-"

"no it wasn't!" you cry out, and for a second, he wonders if you're actually about to sob over his haircut. "it was perfect. i loved your hair like that."

"okay, calm down-"

"don't tell me to calm down! you didn't even ask me-" you huff, but he cuts you off.

"ask you?"

"i'm your girlfriend. don't you care about my feelings? do you even care about me?"

"woah, kid, it's just hair-"

you calm down eventually, but still make a pouty face every time you turn to look at rafe for the rest of the day. later that night in bed, you curl up against him.

"you can still play with it."

"no i can't. ugh," you groan, burying your head into his chest. another thought pours into your head. "what am i gonna grab when we do stuff?"

rafe tilts your head up with his fingers.

I think the anime really undersells how fucking insane Illumi's tranformations really are. Do you see this??? His bones are literally going to rip his face off. “Mmm, I’m just a little ticklish there is all,” they murmur, shifting a little to get themselves into a more comfortable position. 

“Ahh,” Character B murmurs, a mischievous grin decorating their lips. “Well, if that gets you arching your back for me…” They reach out, brushing their fingers along Character A’s spine again, and Character A lets out a soft gasp, back arching out of their own will. “Then I think it’s a win, no? I think I can use this to my advantage, hm?”

Eventually, both of them are so exhausted from the miscommunication that Jiang Cheng investigates and finally finds out what’s wrong, then tells Jin Ling he has one more potential spouse for him to meet. Jin Ling is a pouting lackluster mess over it until his entire world stops when the doors to Koi Tower open and Lan Sizhui walks through.
