My headcanon for that one Mafia Bro who asked Kate for relationship advice is that he just keeps showing up entirely unprompted at the most random of times for more advice. Then, eventually one day he invites her to his wedding. She attends, chaos ensues at some point, because why wouldn't it?

He asked her for advice twice in just a few days. Pretty sure Kate's officially his couples therapist at this point.

ANYHOW.... That said, I have a snippet from a fic that I sort of abandoned two months ago in favor of the two I'm working on now that brings the mafia bro into the story for just a moment. It was fun as hell to write, but I don't know if it'll ever see the light of day since I abandoned said fic. Anyhow, here is the mafia bro bit that may never see the light of day if I don't post it here! ___________________________ (For context for this snippet, it is from Yelena's POV as she's watching Kate from afar. For research, of course... Kate has just gotten back from a jog when she encounters the mafia bro)

“What are you doing here? Uh… whatever your name is,” Kate inquired.

“Sergei. Like I said last time – Maroon 5 was great! Now girlfriend mad about something else. What to do, bro?”

Kate lifted an eyebrow at this.

“Well… what’s she mad about?” Kate asked, arms crossing.

Really, Kate? Yelena thought. You are giving relationship advice to someone who once tried to kill you? You are unbelievable.

“She thinks I am in relationship with colleague,” Sergei groaned, throwing his hands up.

Kate let out a startled laugh as she doubles over, barely able to contain herself. “Dating one of the tracksuits?”

“What? No! New job. Call center,” Sergei said.

“You… you work at a call center now?”

“Da,” Sergei nodded gravely, eyes wide as if he was working somewhere much more heinous his previous line of work.

Yelena rolled her eyes. God, this woman’s life is weird.

“Okay. By the way, I’m gonna start charging you for these little sessions. To answer your question though, I don’t know, maybe tell her something really sweet and vulnerable. Like about how there's no way you'd get with your coworker, and how she's the only one for you... Or something. Hell, I don’t know…Your love life sounds complicated.”

“Okay. I try. I tell you how it goes sometime.” He says as he turns to leave, waving his hand.

“Yeah, okay, and just… maybe don’t show up here again out of the blue,” Kate called after him. “Or like… send a letter in the mail or something. A heads up. Honestly anything other than just showing up.”

Really, Kate Bishop? Yelena thought, laughing to herself. What even is your life?

A couple months after Kate joins the Tornado Wranglers, Tyler uploads a video to their YouTube channel. But instead of it being him and Boone in the truck, it's just Tyler sitting in a motel room by himself, and addressing the camera full-on.

"Kate Carter is one of the smartest people I have ever met," he says. "She figured out a way to disintegrate tornadoes, do you guys know how huge that is? Do you know how important that is? It's amazing. She's amazing. And yes, you have the right to your own opinions, but a lot of those opinions that I see - that we all see - in the comments seem to be based on very face-value judgments. Because if you really knew her, if you took the time to learn how awesome she is and what she's done - and is continuing to do - for this world then you would not be making comments like that. Myself and the Wranglers LOVE our fans, and we love that you help spread awareness for our causes and you share our videos to help teach people about tornadoes and tornado safety, and that's awesome. But Kate Carter is one of the Tornado Wranglers now, and that is not going to change any time soon...not unless she ever wants it to. And I hope she never does, because she is a great asset to our team. So if you care about the Wranglers, you will recognize that Kate is one of us, and if you don't like her, or don't like somebody else on our team, that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion, but don't go filling up our socials with hateful comments when all we are trying to do is make this country and the world a better and safer place to live in. Yes, Kate and I are dating, but that is nobody's business. She doesn't like her private life to be made public on social media and neither do I, which is why this YouTube page is about chasing tornadoes and not a video diary about what we do on the weekends when we're not driving in those trucks."

This video became one of the Wranglers most shared videos and in the weeks that followed Kate got such a huge outpouring of love from the fans (including a few fan pages dedicated personally to her) that she was brought to tears (happy tears) more than once.
