I wish I wrote down or remembered when I stickered my car's rear window; it's definitely been at least 2 years. My other (non-Schlady) stickers have been chipping and peeling so I finally scraped them off today. But dang, look who's surviving - no cracking, shrinking, peeling, or noticeable fading from any of my Schlady hexies, even after at least two years outside in the intense Colorado sun, heat, cold, and snow! ⭐

My mini quilt stickers are finally listed in my online shop! They're 1/18th scale of a quilt I completed two years ago! The background is transparent so it can float seamlessly onto whatever you stick it on.

The original quilt is a labor of love, made from mixing a base of three primary color fiber-reactive dyes and hand dyeing raw cotton fabric to achieve a unique rainbow palette. The dyed fabric is then held in a hexagon shape and sewn using a hand-sewing technique called English Paper Piecing. This artistic vision was inspired by color-mixing from my formal painting background as a multi-disciplinary artist.

Repeating Hexagonal Twirl Pattern on Redubble

Six notebook stickers by Spindex corp, produced in 1982. They are made as labels, and most contain lines labelled Name and Address.

From the top, the first is in the shape of a pencil, the lines for name and address in the yellow center acting as the corners of the implied hexagonal shape.

Second, a yellow spiky shape warns: "TOUCH THIS AND YOU WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 30 SECONDS" with the label beneath.

Third, A rainbow with a golden star in the center has a golden framed box beneath to input your own text.

Fourth, a red clockwork rollerskate travels to the right with the speed lines behind it crossing a dark blue back ground. The purple frame curves in on the top right coner to match the shape of the rollerskate. The label is below.

Fifth, a black handled paintbrush makes an oval trail of rainbow paint.

Sixth, a green frame has the label at the top, and the top third of the globe in the bottom right corner, a space ship flies on top, above the frame.

I’m a big fan of both Rottmnt and Pokemon as you can obviously tell lol

So I thought it’d be cool to envision the Squirtle line in the rottmnt art style.

Squirtle’s look is solely based on his Squirtle Squad getup in the anime y’know, headband, shades, etc. I made his skin markings resemble water droplets/bubbles. Squirtle’s and Wartortle’s shell marks are just the hexagonal shapes that come from their original shell.

Wartortle’s look comes a lot from his canon personality, which he’s a bit of a ruffian. They’re known to get into fights and fisticuffs a bit and can be very aggressive, that’s why they have so many scratches and bandages and even chips in their plastron. Their skin markings come from what Wartortle is originally based on which is the minogame, a mythological turtle with seaweed and algae resembling a tail and it’s longevity. Wartortle is actually my favourite of the Squirtle line becuz I for one love the poofy/wispy ear and tail combo.

Blastoise is mainly based on his gigantamax form, cuz I needed alil bit more something to work with. Hence the white triangular markings, the turquoise eyes, the stickers that come from the gigantamax lighting. I did attempt to give him ears, but I didn’t like the way they looked so I tried to make it show with the mask instead (and his triangle marks).

Name: Peg

Debut: DK: King of Swing

This post is not about Donkey Kong himself. Sorry! It is about the peg he is currently swinging from. But Peg on its own is not very eye-catching, is it? We need a guy like DK here, for the brand recognition. With his help, Peg is gonna be a star admired like James Dean or Mr. Bean! Hopefully after this post, you'll all want to Get Pegged!

So, here's Peg. Sorry for the blurriness, this was cropped from the Japanese cover of the game. Believe it or not, no press kits seem to have included crisp, HD promo art of Peg! Imagine the world if they did that. They could have made sticker sheets, and you could have put them on your wall, and pretended Donkey Kong was awkwardly clambering on it. Now imagine doing that while a silverfish happened to be climbing on the same wall! It would be so exciting...

Peg is a very funny thing to me. Donkey Kong is a gorilla. He climbs. It's in his nature. So it makes sense to give him his own game focused on climbing rather than platforming. But the thing is, he climbs trees and grabs onto branches and vines. And this game is about Pegs! Like rock climbing hand/footholds! I like this game a lot, don't get me wrong. But I get such a kick out of it being about Pegs.

And there are so many Pegs. So many that they come in different colors, to make them more fun to look at! Which of these would you most want to Grasp? I like the blue one. You may note that none of these are red, like the artwork is, but maybe that's because of the GBA's initial lack of a backlight.

It does not stop at different colors of pegs, however! There are peg boards! Pegs with levers, at the ends of which are other pegs! Cracked pegs that crumble away into nothingness... and that brings us to my personal favorite peg!

GHOST pegs! These pegs have perished! They are only found in a haunted shipwreck stage, so that narrows down how they could have died. I'm sure a lot of them drowned, while others were cannibalized by other, desperate pegs. Maybe some were pried open by sea stars who then digested the delectable Pegmeat from within. Many possibilities! Wait, I haven't said what these pegs do! If one is grabbed, it will manifest a hexagon of pegs around itself, while any other ghostly pegs disappear. It is a fun but honestly extremely easy gimmick with no real catch, unless you are just oh so scared by these ghost pegs. I'm not. Not that it's anything to be ashamed of! But I'm not.

I am not entirely sure how I feel about the overall art direction of DK: Jungle Climber, since I really like the more unique spritework of King of Swing. One thing's for sure, though! Pegs and Peg Boards have never looked more natural! Now THESE are pegs that someone made and put there. Don't worry about it!

meet my swiftli figurines!!! i made these many months ago, and i am finally sharing them with tumblr! they watch me sleep, and watch me eat, and watch shows with me, and i take them everywhere in this little box my mom gave me for them! the person doing my blood test asked me if they were my friends. they Are.

these guys are made out of air dry foam clay, and the bases are made from my mom's old phone case and a ton of sequins i had lying around. link's flower is an old earring of mine i never wore, and i like to pretend that taylor plucks it from the grass and puts it in his hair :)

every detail is hand crafted and hand painted. i used old chain and jeweler hoops i had lying around for some of the jewelry, and link's earrings are actually studs of mine that i never wore because i found them too small.

i also made links soccer ball, which was VERY CONFUSING. man. so many hexagons and pentagons wtf.

i made taylor's ita bag using a blank clear sticker sheet and an old pink headband, and the sword in it is a charm from one of my necklaces

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call!! I actually discovered ordering the game from the UK with shipping was actually cheaper than ordering the American version of the game, there were no major differences that I could tell as they still had the original English voice actors.

I enjoyed this game!! Not my top favorite installment but I still had a great time and loved the new characters. The puzzles were well designed and had nice scaled difficulty and the mini games were really neat too. The Eternal Diva references were so blatant lmfao but I’m excited for Miracle Mask! I was also super exhausted when writing the summary so sorry there’s so many errors and I use the word fun a million times ToT

Summary

This was such a fun origin story for Luke and Layton. Very much a classic Layton game with world ending machinery and gorgeous environment design. I really liked both Emmy and Descole, there’s a more serious undertone than with Don Paolo as the main villain (even though I do love Don Paolo). Emmy is amazing!! I was afraid she would be sidelined like Flora was but I’m glad to she stands her ground and does what she wants to do. I alos like how we got to go on our own adventure as her to London, she’s a character that doesn’t need to rely on Hershel to solve everything. Meeting Luke was great, loved his blank stare. It was fun seeing his origins and how Clark and Hershel knew each other. I’m curious how the prequels will play into the New World of Steam, especially now that Luke’s family have stories and sprites (unlike in the original trilogy). Loved the ACAB story, v nice to play while I’m still so mad at what’s happening to university students currently. Descole was so fun, I am obsessed with his outfit and personality. Unfortunately I was spoiled on who he is but I’m very excited to learn more. I think similar to Ace Attorney, the fourth installment is that last game in the classic 2D style, which is sad but PLvsPW makes me very hopeful about 3D Layton. The overall story was fun, I really liked the sub plot about the Ravens - that was really fun (i was so tired writing this omfg). I wish we got a little more backstory on the rich guy who died, I feel like there’s more to the story. OO I loved the little episodes, especially the one about Chelmey. They added a lot of fun context and gave more life to the NPCs. Such a fun and classic Layton game, I can’t wait to play Miracle Mask! (And read the light novels). This wasn’t my favorite Layton game but I still really loved it and had a great time and loved the puzzles — that’s all I want from PL!

Baking the ingredients for the shape soup

The ingredients for this very delicious soup need to be baked before they can be used for cooking this well-made yummy shape soup.

So, I'm happy to announce I'm in the midst of digitalizing (scanning and adjusting/slightly editing png files) my isometric polyhedron drawings.

They will be transparent pngs with a hexagonal shape depicted like in the picture above.

One might use them as stickers or play around with pngs like a true tumblrina would.

(I might also make a transparent png set without any hexagonal white background.)

I had a dream that my brother and i discovered a little ancient bowl sewn inside my mattress. It was tiny and blue and looked like pastic at first but then it became larger and translucent and then changed to a deep read and then to normal clay.

In the same dream, an old black scientist guy came to our house for a visit and i kinda liked him so he left me a something-of-hearts card inside a lightbulb with his contact info and a message covered by hexagonal silicone stickers? But i got distracted as i was peeling them off and then lost the card, but it was really heartwarming in my dream.

There was also a boring book fair and a fibromyalgia festival in my dream that i passed incidentally.
