Ugh I just woke up in the US and have it recorded, is it even worth the heartbreak to watch?

Haha. Me, personally? Definitely not worth it. But then again, I'm disappointed any time Charles doesn't win a race. 😂 The small compensation is that Max did an amazing job (as usual!). The rest of the race was an absolute bore IMO.

And not to mention, it's quite heartbreaking to watch Charles in all of the post-race footage too. He's unbelievably upset and he KNOWS that Sainz didn't unlock the full potential of the car today. Charles KNOWS and the team knows and we ALL know that Charles' worst result today would have been P2 without a broken car.

HOWEVER - I can't overstate how brilliant Charles was today. If you want to watch him cope and adapt to what would have been a race-ending malfunction for lesser drivers, then you might want to watch it anyway. He was unbelievable. Every time he braked, the car did something different/unpredictable and he had to change the brake balance every single time without knowing exactly how the car would respond. It got worse and worse for the first 10 laps, and then never went away for the entire race. DESPITE that, his pace was impressive and his racing brain was so brilliant. He patiently waited and goaded George into an error before overtaking on the straight, knowing that his brakes would be unpredictable for any other type of overtake.

So yeah, it was a heartbreaking race and I'd rather die than rewatch it, but it was also one of the finest displays of EXACTLY why Charles Leclerc is a generational talent and future champion.
