Do you ever sit and think about how Xiao promised to essentially be Lumine's executioner. Do you ever think about how he said he'd kill for her if she wished so. Do you ever think about how Xiao spent thousands of years participating in bloodshed and massacre and thinks that it's all he was meant to be. Do you ever think about how he sees Lumine as a pure soul that deserves none of that suffering he pretty much drowned himself in. Do you ever think about how he can only feel useful to Lumine as a weapon and thus offered himself to her as one.
BUT ALSO! Do you ever think about how Lumine NEVER calls for Xiao to fight for her? Do you ever think about how she almost died fighting a GOD in Inazuma and only called Xiao after the whole ordeal was over and she wanted him to eat a dish? Do you ever think about how she absolutely refuses to use Xiao as the weapon he thinks he is? Do you ever think about how Lumine sees Xiao as a pure soul that deserves none of the torment and endeavors to give him peace in any way she can?

Hellu here with the idea of creator!melusine able to work with the hydro element and childe/foul legacy (and neuvi) showing them all the neat tricks?
*eats your idea in one bite* mmmm delicious and tasty :)
perhaps you're not even given a Hydro Vision- instead you have innate control over the waters of the Primordial Sea. in a way it makes sense, the waters being the oldest and most connected to the Creator, but you're still understandably a little spooked when parts of Fontaine's ocean begins bending to your will. Foul Legacy is absolutely ecstatic, however, chittering happily and gently cupping your mittens in his claws. your siblings curiously peek over your shoulders, oohing and aahing as they watch sparkling water form tiny shapes in your hands before dissolving again- you're just like their sister Sigewinne! except, you don't have a Hydro Vision, but you can control the water all the same!
Legacy admittedly wants to teach you how to fight as soon as he can, but Neuvillette lightly flicks him on the forehead with a frown, met with reluctant grumbles. they can both teach you, but first and foremost Neuvillette wants you to know basic control. he makes sure you never get overwhelmed, helping you learn and tempering the waves with his own power as the Hydro Sovereign if anything begins to get out of hand. when he's not here, Foul Legacy secretly teaches you how to make more complex shapes with the droplets, starting from a perfect sphere and moving your way up to eventual weapons- he WILL teach you how to fight with Hydro eventually, it's best to get an early start! although, his favorite thing to do is helping you make a tiny narwhal out of water, the miniature beast swimming around your antennae and Legacy's horns as he trills in delight

I cannot wait until we get to snezhnaya and get random playable characters that have nothing to do with the fatui but have voicelines for childe. like there's a baker and his "about childe" voiceline is "he comes in sometimes to buy croissants. nice guy."

My personal headcanon is that Dottores main lab in sneznyaha is underneath his mansion (that the fandom all collectively agrees each harbinger was given lol) so walking into his mansion it’s completely deserted. No lights, no decor, not much furniture, just …empty. Further into the mansion there would be a secret hidden entrance that leads down into the massive laboratory that is buzzing with activity.
After waking up fragile reader probably wouldn’t even know there’s a whole mansion above them because dottore is very protective and he hasn’t installed security up there. Maybe once they learn about that a segment will take them up to see it . I imagine reader would like the mansion portion of their lovers property. They can sit by the windows and watch the snowfall without being scolded for being in weather too harsh for them. Dottore doesn’t like them up there alone because of the lack of security.
Maybe once they’re feeling better they can make use of the grand and untouched kitchen and whip up their lovers some treats because we all agree he has a sweet tooth <3
Dottore had never needed or cared for a fancy way of life. His lab was suited for his desires (always engrossed in his research) and was equipped to handle all of his needs (and yours too, of course, he had made sure of every little detail before you woke up.) The only reason he remembers the existence of the upper floors is because he and the segments obviously need to exit from there. Honestly, he could do without it... new agents sometimes get lost trying to find the entrance to the lab. (The mansion was given to him with expensive furniture too, but over time the segments eventually started selling it for a bit of extra funds. No one questions the bareness.)
You never really questioned the layout of the lab because well. Dottore + lab just makes sense. You don't find out about the whole mansion aspect until you hear a poor agent talking about how dusty it is up there. Of course, your interest is immediately piqued while you're also impressed the entrance upstairs is so well hidden despite your thorough analysis of the lab... hmph.
Dottore, on the other hand, is a bit annoyed at the babbling of his agents, but he knew that this would happen eventually. He just wished it was at... a later date. Preferably farther into the future. Preferably when he had an actual chair up there and the copious amount of dust wouldn't make you flare up. That was just preferable of course. Now with your pleading eyes and constant clinging to his arm quick measures were to be taken.
He still doesn't quite understand why you'd want to be up there when the lab has everything and more, but it makes you content... so it's fine. Something that Dottore had learned was that he doesn't need to analyze and pick apart every part of your brain all the time but rather just go along with what makes you comfortable. (Which could be a challenge sometimes, considering the kind of man he was.)
If the mansion had a balcony there would be many cute dates there... a good way of being outside while being able to quickly warm up! You two would watch the view together and some birds would visit you!
(I always imagine Reader shares the big lab kitchen with the Fatui agents, and although Dottore makes them clear out while you use it, sometimes they pop in accidentally and just. Watch you make sweets for *the* Il Dottore. With a cute lil 'remember to take breaks!!' note to the side. Real crazy stuff goes on in his lab... So yes, you would definitely appreciate that kitchen. Dottore watches from the side because you banned him since he kept stealing bites before the sweet was even finished.)

"gordon and alyx can have a sibling dynamic i think" wrong interpretation: Gordon sees Alyx as a little sister to be humored and protected, Alyx sees Gordon as an idolized big brother figure correct interpretation: these are two adults who know each other on such a deep level that they are a fucking nightmare. they're the time when i worked food service and my brother came in and asked "hey can i get something to eat" and I glared at him and sneered "I don't know, CAN you?" and scared my unknowing coworkers into thinking I'd finally snapped. except my brother and i don't have alien superpowers yet
YOU GET IT EXACTLYYYYYYYYYYYYY . they're like two cats bonded at a shelter. You get it you understand completely THANK YOU for wording it so perfectly . Yeah. Yeah 🧡 this is so beautiful

My main flaw with how I characterize Kaeya in my head is that he doesn't actually hate being a knight. He gripes like any adult gripes about their job, but the reason he hasn't left to pursue literally anything else in Teyvat is his ingrained cultural trait of loyalty.
Not to a god, but to his friends, his community. He's needed in Mondstadt; needed as a strategist, diplomat, and administrative head of an organization of civil servants.
I can't help but compare his actions with Capitano's account of his allegiance to Natlan (more specifically the masters of the night wind) or even Arle with Fontaine, though she like Kaeya is contemporary. Or perhaps most critically, the Dahri of Sumeru.
Kaeya, as distant as his ties to Khaenri'ah are, still embodies their shared trait in supporting humanity, no matter their allegiances or faiths, in times of crisis. He's already paid his price to be here, now he's making the most of it, even if he likes to pretend he's not.
Still the same boy who scrubbed wine casks 'til his hands bled for someone else's punishment.

Capitano, in a high voice, holding Barbie: Hey, Ken! I was thinking about going back to school and starting a career!  Sandrone, in a deep voice, holding Ken: Nonsense, Barbie. You’re staying home and having my kids.  Pierro: Pierro: What the fuck are you guys doing?  Capitano: Playing systemic oppression.

It really is about MK wanting his story to be over and wanting his happily ever after yet having to reconcile that there is more than the end, that "it can't just be a journey to the end, it needs to mean something", and how, despite everything, he has to keep going to experience both the pain and joy of life, to keep his friends safe.

To me (because I like making myself suffer) there are 2 other types of universes where Jayce and Viktor make hextech. If Viktor is always the mage, able to go to all universes where Jayce gets stuck in that blizzard with his mom, maybe he doesn't exactly know how that particular universe ends and is just searching for the exact one Jayce (and also Ekko) can save.
Viktor dies before Jayce can save (also doom) him with the hexcore. Maybe it's before the explosion, maybe he dies with Sky, maybe he just goes to bed and doesn't wake up. Jayce deals with this however you interpret. Maybe he goes crazy and destroys universes trying to find a healthy Viktor who won't die before their dream can be fully lived. Maybe he intentionally creates The Machine Herald this time. Maybe he stops inventing and just. Becomes a loner.
They are able to create hextech without any death/damage at all. Maybe Jayce and Viktor (who could find out about it before Jayce's place is robbed) and discover it's potential somewhere else. Maybe they start in Zaun and end up improving the lives of everyone there that Silco and Vander reconnect, Powder and VI stay sisters, everyone stays alive. Maybe Viktor is able to find a cure for his illness (and therefore find no need to experiment, since the fear of death will no longer control him.)
