an ode to RBB and SBB đ§žđłïžâđđ§ž
inspired by this beautiful post by @holyshit đ
i just rolled around in bed again yelling to myself out loud, because THIS ALL HAPPENED!!
So I want to talk about Rainbow Bondage Bear and Sugar Baby Bear (RBB and SBB) for a little bit. (link leads to a post of all pictures of them that had been posted to their twitter account @Rbbsbbofficial, before it was deactivated)
A timeline for RBB and SBB going up to Dec 12th, 2015 can be found here: Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 (i might add links here, because I'm sure a timeline post with screenshots exists here on Tumblr, too)
The second picture?? I had forgotten there werenât just blue and green stickers with the daily emojis :) or :( on it, but also always TWO GIANT BLUE AND GREEN LIGHT BEAMS POINTED DIRECTLY AT THEM. like, you see how dark it is pre-show start. and those blue and green beams shine down there on those queens in the fur like the second coming of gay jesus - that was so iconic!
and then THIS happened???
and then the official RBB and SBB Twitter account tweeted this??
and then the number remained active for years!
PR-Louis: "Honestly, i'll tell u nao, hOnEsTlY! god's honest TrUth [...] no, honestly! i don't fink i've ever seen it in the.. in the flesh?" LMFAO Louis, love, if you say honestly 3 more times you might summon HIM:
but for real real -- i will never get over RBB and SBB and everything connected to it and this post is absolute emotional whiplash in the BEST way.
Harry and Louis (and everyone who helped them with it), yâall are legends for that. They knew we support them and they did ALL THAT and went those extra miles all the time to communicate back to us - to people who see them; understand the signs they send; who love them for who they are and support them through it all, in whichever small or bigger ways we can.
and I want to highlight, that sourcing all these different small props while almost constantly being on tour in different cities, countries, and continents took time and dedication. knowing tour life myself, the people who usually have the most (but still not much!) free time, are in fact the artists, not the crew. I want to make a point of this, because I saw some people back then saying Harry and Louis "wouldn't have time to do all this". They did.
In the entire context of Harry&Louis' relationship and within the inner workings of who and what One Direction was back then and still is - the queer legacy of RBB and SBB needs to be remembered.
The bears were so obviously something only between Harry&Louis and us. It was always clear who the bears wanted to communicate to. If you watch interviews of them being asked about them, you quickly realise -to this day-, they don't want to discuss them in this way.
Always ask yourself really why.
Always look for the things that are not being said; not being done.
Ask why the bears were clearly visible and there at so many shows and ALL of 1D completely ignored them, when they were so busy reading fan signs and picking up on writings on arms or flags in the crowd, making lighthearted jokes about it all, or Harry reading the "LARRY" on the arm of a fan and signalling his own arm to them like 'this, here!' and then giving multiple thumb ups? Harry and Louis (who were still very active on Twitter in 2014 and 2015) didn't Retweet or Like a single one of the bears' tweets, even though RBB and SBB were clearly linked to their shows, their locations, personal friends, live band members.
Most importantly, on Twitter and at shows, RBB and SBB were always referencing things that demonstrably exclusively tied to Harry&Louis' interests and personal lives. Sometimes even before it was made public.
RBB and SBB were an enigma that conveyed a powerful message. And they were one of the most fun and sweetest ways for Harry&Louis to communicate with us. I'm really grateful for their existence.
It should remain their personal choice to address them. I personally don't ever need to hear Harry and Louis publicly explain them to the world.
The people who know, know.
We know. đ§žđłïžâđđ§ž

I'm sharing Jade's prom story from her Twitter thread. You can read it here and share it around. I'm putting it under a read more since it's quite long, but it's definitely worth reading every single word that she wrote. If you want to read more or get involved with LGBTQ+ rights, I have linked a few organisations that do great work in the Philippines.
LGBTQ+ Organisations in the Philippines
Bahaghari â national alliance of LGBT+ advocates, organisations, and formations. You can sign the petition for their anti discrimination bill SOGIE right here.
LoveYourself â an organisation that promotes HIV awareness, testing, and treatment. They also have resources available for those seeking help to transition.
UP Babaylan â The oldest LGBT+ student organisation in the Philippines.
LakanBini Advocates Pilipinas â A network of transgender organisations. They focus on health, psychosocial well-being, and human rights.
Rainbow Rights â A nonprofit NGO that focuses on legal literacy and empowerment with respect to SOGIE laws and policies.
Proud Campaign Philippines â Not only do they raise awareness of SOGIE, but they also help Filipinos in need with food, clothes, toiletries, and other necessities.
𩶠State Of The Dollification Address đ©¶
I have 3 prom stories that Iâve experienced and here to tell all of yâall! I am now using my voice and platform to raise awareness, for humanityâs maturity and for the betterment of inclusive schools. âŒïž
I want to say to ALL schools out there! No matter what Sexual Orientation, Gender Indentity & Expression. Students has the right to have equal knowledge and experience with schools and campus. As long as oppression and discrimination is still happening in todayâs world, this is a sign that we are not yet treated as equal.

My first ever Prom that Iâve attended way back Feb 13, 2016. I got invited by a guy from an all boys school. He sponsored everything from the gown, ticket and transportation. Everything went well, I attended their prom as the WOMAN THAT I AM. It was magical, fun and romantic. I greeted some people in the event, ate, had a romantic dance with the guy and also partied a little bit, we went home safe (take note: our driver is his Dad). So happy with this experience I got to live just by being me.
I met some Queer people and some of them are now Trans Women from that school, last year 2022. They told me that I was so iconic, that the administrators, teachers, pastors are triggered by my presence that night. They had to call every Queer people in their school just to have a prayer/mass session to pray the gay away. It was so sad, they couldnât fight, they just told me that they love and look up to me for my bravery and courage from that night. I hope they are now healed from that trauma.
Going back to March 2016, for our Moving-Up Ball in my school. Everyone is excited as we are about to enter Senior High School (the first batch of SHS) and Junior High School is about to end. Iâm very excited about it because itâs going to be our last Ball/Party of our whole batch. I am thinking to myself that this is going to be my coming out moment as a Trans Woman. I immediately thought of wearing a dress and wearing a wig because my hair is too short for the vision of my full bloom woman.
Days before the Ball, I asked my adviser politely if I can go to the event wearing a dress as the woman that I am. She said âNo, naiintindihan naman namin ang gusto mo, âGirlâ na nga ang tawag ko sayo (as tinatawag niya kong âbaklaâ before) pero sa college mo na yan gawin, masyado ka pang bata. Malay mo mag-iba pa panananaw mo at maging lalake ka talaga (she laughed)â. I cried it out going home that day. Translation: âNo, we understand what you want, Iâm already calling you âGirlâ (as she calls me âGayâ before). Do it in college instead, you are too young. Maybe you might change your perspective and become a man one day (she laughed).
The day of the event started⊠I did my friendâs makeup, as I am a makeup artist before. I started doing their makeup during lunch time and ended really well. My sister and mom helped by putting their dresses and curling their hair. 5 girl friends of mine are very happy with the results. I have a lot of memories with them I cherish and miss them now. Hi Aira, Ela, Elriva, Kirstine & Lubna.
I was so tired and had to glam myself up too. I wore a 30 inch black silky straight wig, white cocktail dress from my sister and black thigh high boots.
We went to the moving-up ball with my friendâs driver. My mom joined us because she wanted to explain something. As we got into the event, they immediately stopped me from entering. A teacher told me that I cannot enter, and they let me talk to my adviser and some of my teachers, they said âJade, sinabihan ka na namin⊠You canât wear this here. Magpalit ka ng suit na panglalake, para papasukin ka pa namin, maaga pa naman may time ka pa magpalit, Go na.â Translation: âJade, we told you about this⊠You canât wear this here. Change it to a Menâs suit, so that we can let you enter, itâs still early, you have time to change, Go for it.â
I told them I wanna talk to the principal. They let me talk with the principal and I explained the definition of Transgender and explaining that I am a Trans Woman. She refused, my mom talked to the principal and explained that I am a Trans Woman and I wanted to make this last moment of my JHS as the woman that I am. My mom said âPayagan niyo po sana yung anak ko na makapasok, kasi po babae po siya and yan po ang gusto niyang damit. Pangarap niya po yanâ. Translation: âI hope you allow my daughter to get in, She is a woman and thatâs how she wanted to dress up. Thatâs her dream.â
They still said no and change my outfit to a suit or anything na âpanglalakeâ or âMenâs wearâ. I lost hope at that moment, I saw my mom crying because how heart broken she is. I immediately cried too and said âMama, umuwi kana ako na lang mag stay dito and ilalaban ko to. Ayoko na makita ka umiiyakâ. Translation: âMom, Please go home, Iâm going to stay here and I will fight for this.â
She invited me to go home too but I said I needed to stay, this is something I think that is right. She went home and I started bursting out of tears, I was sobbing and fully destroyed. As a protest, Iâm going to stay here until they let me in. There were feedbacks that they can hear me sobbing inside the event. My classmates comforted me, they took turns to accompany me outside. As the event is going through my classmates are slowly getting inside, they brought me food, talk to me nicely, my whole class went to me outside and took a class picture. Teachers that are close to my heart went outside to accompany too. And thereâs this one teacher stayed with me the whole night outside and she said; âMalayo pa tayo sa pinapaglaban natin, pero gusto kong malaman mo na tama ka Jade, tama ang pinaglalaban mo, ikaw yan eh. Balang araw matatanggap ng lipunan natin ang isang katulad mo. Salamat sa pag-laban kung sino ka.â Translation: âWe are far from what we are fighting for, but I want you to know that you are in the right track, thatâs the real you! The time will come that our society will accept the people like you, thank you for fighting for being who you areâ.
She said so many inspiring words that uplifted me. Take note: sheâs an Araling Panlipunan teacher. Hi M1ss Meann Salimbangon, you deserve the love from this world. I love you so much, I will never forget you! Youâre a treasure for me. She told me she wonât leave me outside until I get home safe. My friendâs driver offered a ride to get me home safe. I went home when that after party started. I was so tired and cried myself to sleep.
April 2016, our Moving-up Ceremony. Advisers are announcing that âNo âproperâ haircut for boys are not allowed get the diploma on stage. But instead, they will give the diploma a week after (together with our report card). I informed my adviser that I canât cut my hair because I identify as a Trans Woman and I would like to get my diploma as how my hair is growing now. She refused, so i decided to not to go through. I did the Moving-up ceremony rehearsal for nothing. I informed my Mom that I canât go to the stage because of my haircut. She was sad that she wonât see me receiving my diploma. I attend our moving-up ceremony with the parents of my friends, I was sitting in the parents section wearing a BLONDE FUCCING HAIR, full leather look with my y2k hidden wedge sneakers lol.
My head was heated seeing these boys in our school DIDNâT GOT THE PROPER HAIRCUT and got their diploma on stage. I immediately thought that the advise and requirement is just targeted for me or for the Queer people in my school ONLY. They were just oppressing us.
When itâs my time to get the diploma they called my name on stage flashed my photo to the screen. I stood up with my head up high, from the parentâs section. Everyone was looking at me, my friend cheered and screamed for me, the parents were clapping. It was a fuccing moment (just like a Pose episode) đ€Ł
Finally the nightmare era from that school was over, there is much more stories to tell. But itâs to long to share, so many bullying and oppressing issues that I experienced. I know itâs a Catholic school, but is it a requirement for Catholics to hate and oppress Trans Individuals like me? And the LGBTQIA+ community, if there are more issues (I knew itâs not just me đ).
Moving forward, I searched for the right school to enroll for my Senior High School and that is iAcademy! I really really love this school so much, they accepted, acknowledged, and loved me. This is the first time I felt seen, heard & valued by a school. They let me wear what I want, let me my hair grew, it is so long that it touches my butt. I was openly proud Trans Individual, I even got a romantic relationship with a classmate (part of my growing process).
Fast forward for our Grad Ball and Graduation Ceremony. The MOMENT Iâve been waiting my whole life was to attend our Graduation Ball. I wore the MOST HUGE ROYAL BLUE CINDERELLA-LIKE BALL GOWN WITH FEATHERS AROUND, LEAVING SOME FEATHER TRACKS WHEREVER I GO, WITH A FUCCING CROWN, because I already knew I am a fuccing QUEEN. I won best dressed of the night from the female category. They gave me a 10-min moment to share my JHS Prom experience and I am thankful for this inclusive school and being an LGBTQIA+ ally. I was so happy I could die. This moment will last forever and to the herstory of iAcademy.
For our Graduation ceremony I wore the highest heels that I owned and a red cunty dress to my Graduation. I got my diploma on stage, strutting myself like the sexiest, cuntiest & baddest student on Earth.

ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË NAMIE AT WATERBOMB 2024 ... !
The industry's pretty girl finally made her Waterbomb debut! After four years of being one of SM's most successful solo acts, she finally made her long-awaited appearance at the hottest festival of the summer, and like everything Namie does, her set was gold! She had previously said herself that she didn't want to perform at Waterbomb as a soloist until she had enough summer hits, and after releasing the song of the summer this year, she undoubtedly made a splash. So, let's go over what happened, shall we?
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË ( WHAT SHE WORE ... ! )
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË ( THE SETLIST ⊠! )
WHY DONâT YOU KNOW
OPENING MENT ⊠!
BUBBLEGUM
BLUE CHAMPAGNE
KNOCK
INTERMISSION ⊠!
HEY GIRL
NO. 1
HIGH ROLLER
IâM NOT COOL
OBSESSED
BE MY BABY (LOVEY DOVEY)
CLOSING MENT ⊠!
CUTIE HONEY
ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË ( WHAT WENT DOWN ⊠! )
She's finally here, y'all! Namie's at Waterbomb! We did it!
Namie nation was so pissed every time she didn't go for the last two years, but once SM announced that she'd be going, it was all sunshine and rainbows for the first time since 2022!
She reached the peak of her fame (again) this year, so she and the rest of Pink Marmalade were trending like hell!
Namie has always had quite a lot of creative control over her solo work, and it was obvious here! She was so involved when it came to her styling for the festival (because of course she was), and she went full Y2K! She was taking inspiration from Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Ciara... like in the weeks leading up to Waterbomb she was quite literally making whole moodboards. Like, girl, it was serious.
And speaking of styling, let's get into those boots! No one knows how Namie's stylist even sourced those, but somehow it happened. They were truly the cutest thing that any idol has ever worn to Waterbomb, and "HER BOOTS" was trending for hours. So many people were attempting to find them, and Depop crashed a couple times as a result... oops!
Her Versace bikini top was also quite the hot topic! Like, fashion icon we know this already!
Aside from that, Namie's setlist was insane. She literally had all of her hits, all of the summer bops... but a good chunk of her fans were wondering where her debut singles were. And surprise, surprise, it wasn't SM behind the lack of debut era Namie.
It was Namie herself, actually. đ
She didn't want any of her debut work on her setlist because not only did she kind of outgrow that (she's 24, y'all, come on), but those tracks really didn't fit the whole vibe of the festival. And yeah she's definitely right, but the people would've loved to hear just a wee bit of "Heart Attack," Namie!
But my God her set was incredible. She was smiling the whole time, interacting with the crowd like they were her best friends, and dancing like SM's lights were hours away from getting shut off. Like she bodied the choreography for "I'm Not Cool" like we all knew she would!
And the way she threw her hat once the chorus started... mothering.
For some reason, no one expected Namie to perform "Hey Girl" or "No. 1," but she did! Those are two of her biggest hits, and the crowd couldn't be happier!
At the time of her set, "Obsessed" was literally an unreleased song. And it was fully in English. No one in her crowd knew the words because it wasn't even on streaming services yet and it came out of nowhere, but it sounded good! It was a hit! Everyone loved it!
"NEW SONG" started trending on Twitter the second it started playing lol.
She sang one of her Japanese b-sides, too, which was also a pleasant surprise! And since the song was so long, everyone thought that was it, and then Namie and her cheeky self went "I have a surprise for you guys" right after her ending ment... as if there weren't enough surprises already!
And then "Cutie Honey" started playing... everyone cheered!
Namie is always so expressive every time she performs this song, and it was no exception here! She was up there acting like she was about to win an Oscar and making full use of that stage.
And the best part of all? Right before the first verse started, Namie took off her cute little tube top and quite literally flung it into the crowd! The way the crowd got so loud.
Whoever caught it (either accidentally or on purpose) didn't get to keep it, though lol.
Namie was all over the water guns, too. She shot at the crowd, at her dancers, and she even shot at the rest of Pink Marmalade because of course, they were front and center for their leader! But Jasmine did not appreciate that one-sided water gun fight one bit like for some reason she got hit the most!
And guess who was also in the crowd? Venus! Namie spotted them and waved like her hand was about to fall off like... leader of Constellation nation I fear lol.
After Namie's set of course the girls had to hit the festival circuit themselves! They saw Hyo, Nayeon, Taemin, Hwasa, Kiss of Life... like they got to see all of their faves!
They took so many pictures and filmed so many TikToks, and Waterbomb was essentially just a Sixteen girls reunion! Like Natty, Nayeon, and Namie were all in one room together after nine years!
All in all, Namie was one of the It girls of Waterbomb. She had a great time, #NAMIE_AT_WATERBOMB was trending for a full day, and a fancam of her performing "Cutie Honey" went viral with over nearly 3 million views on Twitter. We love that for her! ËËË ê° âĄ ê± ËËË

patpran's matching outfits
this was originally part of a thread on twitter but i figured i should stick it here too!
over the course of bbs patpran wear some...interesting outfits, but as they get together their wardrobe is a lot more coordinated and matchy đ„° in particular, i think brown/orange seems to be associated with their happiness and comfort; red/blue symbolizes them together; and black/white i think is a little bit more of a pat motif but in the same way that stripes are pran'sâblack and white stripes show up quite often for both of them.
episode 2
blue is pat's color and red is pran's; however, as soon as episode 2 we see that their night clothes have swapped this:
episode 4 & episode 7 & episode 12
their most iconic redgreen momentsâwithout a doubt i know this was intentional. (and also with pran's stripe motif weaved in all of them too!):
yes, in the last pic pat is wearing matching socks to pran's sweater. can you believe it. UGH.
episode 5
i'm sure everyone and their (baseball) mom has pointed it out, but their color swap at the top of the roofâpran in pat's blue, pat in pran's redâremains to be iconic of them. chef's kiss:
episode 6
patpran in blue and orange, which incidentally are ohm/nanon's colors (except ohm is orange and nanon is blue) in reverse! idk if this counts as matching but i wanted to point it out:
episode 7
this is when we start to see both of them mingle the red and blues together equally/in the same scenes, which of course indicates that their feelings are starting to become knowingly mutual đ„° also special note that pat's shirt does covertly make it look like it reads "your man," while he's talking to pran
episode 7 & our skyy
this one is less matchy but instead evidence that they share clothesâbecause yes, the sweater pat wears at the end of ep 7 is the same one pran wears at the end of our skyy 2, which is only fitting as the scenes are parallel (patpran (almost) kissing over food and getting interrupted by pa):
episode 8 & episode 12
the black/white/orange-brown motifs my beloveds!! it's so basic at first in episode 8âindicating the start and novelty of their relationshipâbut is very, very obvious in the episode 12 scenes if you look for it:
episode 8
and of course we can't forget their iconic matching orange shirts in episode 8 tooâthis is what made me feel like orange in particular is supposed to indicate their comfort with each other:
episode 10
we start really early on with patpran both in red and blue togetherâreally symbolic in how easily they've adapted into their relationship and each other:
i also found this really interestingâpat's shirt says "SUN SUN SUN" while pran's shirt has a rainbow on it (with "radiate positivity," lol) both of which definitely go together, however subtle this matching is!
and then of course when they go to the high school. this is definitely one of the most visually standing out matching outfits between pat and pran, the red and blue and pran's tote bag and the necklace bag all blending beautifully together. pran carrying his necklace bag, a gift from pat, while pat carries pran's tote. pat in the blue and light red, and while pran is mostly wearing his red and white stripes, you can really notice in this shot how many things he has are shades of blueâshades of pat:
not sure if i can draw a matching set from these two outfits but i still love them so i'm putting them here anyway:
episode 12
we see pran in pink a lot even when pat is donning pink/red himselfâso of course it makes sense for pran, in the last scene, to don some blue. also, together comes the return of the black/white/orange-brown color palette! and of course pat wearing the smiley face shirt we saw from a brief pan over in episode 1, which we know makes pat think of pran (that shot led right into the pond flashback)âit's also the same type of smiley face that was on pran's bag when he was in high school, and fits in with the rest of the smiley faces in pran's room, symbolizing that this is where pat has always belonged: with pran.
special mention to:
pat at the beginning of episode 8! we can agree this is pran's shirt, right? pran's the one with the striped shirts with collarsâpat definitely decided to wear his boyfriend's shirt after a very long night:
#an aroceu original#bbs#can you believe i've become a bad buddy wardrobe enthusiast#because. well. i can.

even MORE turtle thoughts (just watched the movie again)
here's the last post and ofc, spoilers under the cut â
god where do i even begin
okay i forgot to shout her out last time but april was great !! i find it super interesting that her locker being fixed is the final shot of the movie before the mid-credits. i feel like that shot confirms this idea that april is kind of part of the turtle family and their theme of acceptance. they were both rejected by the people around them but through bonding and helping each other out, they were able to be viewed in a newer light, together
i think the theme/act of helping people is actually super crucial to the story, april revived her reputation because the turtles helped give her a story, the turtles are helped by humans to save the day because april saved their image, the turtles were saved by splinter because he cares about his boys and the mutants helped them with the mutagen ray because they realized there was more to family and belonging than any sort of violence, the entire pattern is super neat to me since well...
i feel like a lot of turtle iterations end up with the turtles thinking "we're the only ones who can do this" and it always weighs a heavy and isolating burden on them, so to see them actually receive this support and have them realize that they aren't alone in this, it seems like these guys are gonna have a much healthier upbringing than in the past!
speaking of support though, all of the mutants are in the sewers now??? they just have one big-ass cousin family?!?! bro i know at least one person will make some sort of The Family Madrigal-like parody with them, i don't know why that was the first thing i thought of but the potential is there
oh yeah and mondo had at least one rainbow bracelet i think, all of his bracelets are probably multicolored but i saw a pattern and just giggled with it
something else kinda funny was that aside from the shell-cracking, almost every turtle had a near death moment but was saved by family
like, mikey was about to be ran over TWICE (one during the Splinter flashback and again at the car mechanic fight, forgot who saved him after splinter), raph about about to get shot in the same fight before i think donnie intercepted it, and donnie was about to get completely crushed by a car before raph caught him
the only one who didn't almost fucking die (at least that i didn't notice) is leo and honestly considering past iterations, that's somehow scarier for him
during the movie, the boy i ended up focusing on the most was raph to my surprise (since tbh he was my least fav beforehand) but really i was able to grasp a lot more into each of the four this time around (which i'm sectioning because god these bullet points are long)
Mikey
my gut's telling me that mikey has a lot of potential conflict when it comes to a human life, since i think he's sort of shown as the most vulnerable of the turtles, he's always the one who wants to interact with the human world, to have a real connection to it and the people
but he's also the one who gets hurt the most often, from almost being run over, being the first one drained of blood by cynthia, and getting those black eyes. we see very clearly that he keeps getting hurt despite his goal and ideals beingâ basically the exact opposite.
even with that though, he's the one who perseveres and ends up being the kind of hope in the team, even if he presents himself as the silly guy, and i feel like that strength will carry throughout the series in the process
Donnie
donnie is a bit different this time around. people have already noted that he was considered the friendliest one by his brothers, which most versions of the team would give that role to mikey. i imagine that it comes from his fandom background where he may or may not have online friends (his phone had app icon colors that looked similar to twitter, snapchat and line or whatsapp).
though, it's been pointed out that donnie's interest in the human world contrasts to mikey, where he's more interested in the general culture and what is created out of them which is a bit more distant than mikey's interests.
side note but i genuinely thought donnie isn't really a stem kid at first with the problem solving he was giving in the movie, which in my head i thought would be the writer's attempts to avoid any savant syndrome qualities with him. though after thinking about it/looking through some articles, i imagine that his tech-qualities will be explored later and/or after he gets some public education.
Raph
raph was pretty interesting now that i really focused on him this time around. where, 1.) he might be the second nerdiest of the group, and 2.) he still might be a foil to leo's character.
when it comes to raph, he ends up being blocked as "anger issues" though it seems like very showmanship kind of aggression, like what you'd see on television than any sort of malice. and then it hit me: these kids were raised on martial arts/actions films. raph's favorite movie was legit confirmed to be bloodsport. i don't think raph is a violent warhammer more-so is he trying to be like the people he may look up to, which are action stars.
he also just views a lot of fiction as fact more than his brothers, like when he's the one to bring up that you're supposed to like school like in the movies. in a way, he's like a jeff winger nerd to donnie's abed.
the second thing to this is that raph seems to be the one who wants to distance himself from his family the most, though he admits to still loving them at the end of the day. he wants to differ himself from his brothers and splinter, so he does that by attempting to rebel and act like only type of "cool guy" he really knows, which luckily it seems like he enjoys doing it at least. this desire to distance himself is also likely what charges his need to be with humans, unlike mikey and donnie.
oh yeah, and something interesting is that raph was actually the first one to go to splinter when scared in the flashback, and it makes me think that something may have happened to change that dynamic to make him act the way he is now, that or its pure teenage rebellion
Leo
leo was kind of hard to grasp, maybe it was because i didn't relate to him as much, or he's just starting out, but what i got out of him now is still something that's hard to articulate.
at the start, leo was very distant from his brothers, staying in the shadow and following splinter's rules to a T. it made me wonder why exactly it was april to trigger his rebellious side and start being more in the group thereafter, but it seems like what connects leo to really anything is his own tangible relationships, or things he can really connect to in a non-conceptual way
yeah, he thinks humans are cool and wants to be with them as much as his brothers, but he puts his priorities on his family because he thinks that is all he can realistically have and doesn't strive for more. he looks up to his father since he thinks his wisdom is the best solution for his family's safety and happiness.
BUT, when he meets april, he goes "oh, pretty girl, i'll help her out" (which like, completely fair), and likely the plan was for nothing else in return. But it's when april befriends them does it really click to him that this impossible dream life is actually possible. and THAT'S the moment leo starts rebelling, going behind splinter's back, and getting closer with his brothers.
he acts on what he thinks is best for the people he loves and cares about, and his desires are more based on the people around him than himself or anything conceptual. it contrasts with raph since his desires center more around individuality than anything, so i feel like there's something that might happen between that. that or leo figures himself out before any conflict erupts in the process.
oh yeah and one last thing
in the mid-credits, when the boys are highlighted in cynthia's recordings, the boys end up being numbered out of order, where mikey is 1, leo is 2, donnie 3 and raph 4. this may not mean anything in the end but it feels a bit odd to be something non-important.
aside from that, i'd love to hear y'alls thoughts! i just had a lot in my mind and needed to put it somewhere (and apparently a lot is an understatement holy shiâ)

F1 teams as social media
(by popular demand*)
FERRARI as Tumblr. Has been there since the beginning. Cool brand that isn't for everyone and only the bravest soldiers survive here. People keep trying to copy its je ne sais quoi and keep failing. We're called clowns by others. Usually willingly. Got worse with porn ban (red nomex covering tiddies) but slightly better with community labels (tiktok thirst traps). We all fear one thing and that's twitter users (leastappies) flocking here after the app dies. It would be much better if we got rid of the terfs.
RED BULL as TikTok. Can never be the former and should just give up. Trying to copy success of others. Might and will call u slurs. Causes addiction in youngsters. Horrible working conditions (team orders) but catering might be spectacular. The longest tiktoks last 10 minutes (Checo after Monaco).
ASTON MARTIN as Pinterest. Aesthetical livery u wanna crop out and add to the pretty collage on ur wall. Good team (app)...... in theory. If u wanna look for something specific u still choose Google images over it so what's the purpose? It's just for girlies (gn) unbothered by the real word (Lance never using his mirrors to see what's happening around him).
MERCEDES as Instagram. Everyone knows who they are, she's that bitch. The new logo (w13) can never give us what the previous (rainbow logo) gave us. Bring back the black livery and make her fast again u cowards, Lew's back is hurting this year.
MCLAREN as Snapchat. It was funny once - for making the dog filter (gulf liverly). Trying to be sooo cool and failing miserably to bring back what once was. The bright yellow icon (only orange car on the grid) hurts to see. Real safety concern for it's users nowadays (daniel).
ALPINE as BeReal. I don't know what their aim is but I know they're not getting there. I understand nothing about them nor am I interested in learning it. Whatever the concept is, it's only fitting for the french freaks.
WILLIAMS as Twitter. The blue icon (livery) is kinda nice. And that's it. It used to be hugely popular and successfull, then a man with too much money to care came in and it went to shit (sorry Nicky rip). Everyone's just waiting for the moment it falls apart. The come back of the unpopular american (Trump for Twitter AND Trump supporter for Williams) might finally do it.
HAAS as Facebook. If it still exists nowadays. Nobody in their right mind will support them but somehow they're still there. Dangerous place for rookies, meant for more experienced people. U will laugh at the grandmas there but wonder.... what are they doing there in the first place (Guenther).
ALPHA TAURI as YouTube. Some content is nice but it's not what it used to be in 2010 (Torro Rosso). Will try to get money from u somehow (YouTube premium) because the nasty app (Red Bull) is taking their viewers (using their budget money).
ALFA ROMEO as WhatsApp. The alfa definitely doesn't mean they will be first. But look. It's there. And functional and sfw. We all have a family groupchat that makes us a bit embarrassed (Val and his coffee) but also groupchat with friends that makes us feel cool (Guanyu wearing Prada).

Louis Tomlinson - LGBTQ icon
A moot on Twitter asked me for some sources, so I decided to put them here in case it was helpful to others. I don't claim that this is all encompassing or definitive.
There isnât only one instance of Louis alluding to being a part of the LGBTQ community. Itâs repetitive and continuous across years. Itâs the cumulative instances that make it definitive for me. While he has said that heâs straight a couple of times, itâs been in writing (most notable on Twitter on 11/10/14, and detailed in this article: 'F***ing ridiculous' 1D Louis in meltdown after wrongly thinking reporter called him gay - Daily Star, which was notably the day after he wore this shirt in support of Apple CEO Tim Cook and a couple days AFTER Harry Styles said "not that important" in reference to a dream date being female--there's some debate as to whether Louis was in control of his SM that day, but I digress), and he never once adequately denied being in a relationship with Harry verbally. Itâs important to remember heâs closeted.
Adding a cut cause this got long.
While I personally think heâs been in a long term monogamous relationship with Harry, most of these arenât about Larry. I think itâs important that both men stand as strong LGBTQ icons/role models apart from their connection together.
Nothing here proves anything about his sexuality or how he personally identifies. I don't claim to know how he identifies. This is simply a list of ways he seems to message that he aligns himself with the LGBTQ community. For me, itâs the cumulative moments that make it impossible to dispute. Anyone reading this is entitled to make your own opinion of what he means.
A few times Louis has alluded to being close to gay/LGBT culture
This is a good post that talks about his casual athletic style being a nod to gay âchavâ fashion. itâs wild to me that ppl donât realize Louis... | Facts, Queer Fury, And Spite (tumblr.com)
He uses LGBT symbols in videos, such as rainbows and pink triangles. First one is We Made It. Second one is Miss You. Screenshot by me on 1/16/23.
Links to video: We Made It: https://youtu.be/XWXRh6icAzQ
Miss You: https://youtu.be/inZzcTXYowY
There are a lot of allusions to gay history in the Just Like You lyric video including George Michael Lyrics: https://youtu.be/qvXXMsiQBDg
An analysis of Louisâ songs and his use of pronouns by @bluewinnerangel: it's subjective - Louis using pronouns in his lyrics (tumblr.com)
There are a lot of allusions in his lyrics to being âdifferentâ and about his love for his significant other being made to keep secret.
His triangle ankle tattoo, which coincidentally (or not) aligns nicely with a tweet once made by Harry Styles.
This tweet was made literally a day or two after the tattoo reveal. (as of 1/16/23 that tweet is still live on Twitter, screen shot taken by me).
The Rainbow Bears during the last year of 1D before Hiatusâif youâre not aware of this, itâs too much for me to put here. But basically, it was widely accepted that Louis and Harry were behind the bears which alluded to a lot of LGBT history, as well as shaded BabyGate. A couple of links:
Itâs a beautiful war đ (tumblr.com)
https://youtu.be/sCNVPRNzmuE
Louis has been closely associated with the Polari brand, which takes its name from a language created by gay subculture in the 1950s. Polari - Wikipedia
A companion post with times Harry has come out: (32) Wishing I Could Fly on Tumblr

I get why fantasy authors would default to using, like, the same basic arrangement of seasons and weather and gravity that we have here in The Real World because they have to make up so much shit as it is and it IS probably good praxis to give your readers some familiar touchstones in your world so they can just focus on the plot, but. having said that. I think there should be more settings that have seventeen seasons, all of them different lengths, and constellations that don't have fixed patterns because sometimes they'll get pissy and just move to a different part of the sky, and sometimes the sun tells people things telepathically, and there's a type of weather where the air just gets really thick and difficult to walk through that's unpleasant but not any more uncommon than rain. it's called smÀrklf.

the worst part of my job (standing around at college orientations being Visibly Queer) is when parents nervously alter their entire walking trajectory to stay out of range as if I'm going to bite them and pass on my infectious homosexuality.
this is wildly eclipsed by the best part of my job, parents who are such wildly enthusiastic allies that their children seem a little embarrassed about it. I'm talking parents who eagerly point out my little rainbow-draped table and urge their kids to come over, parents who excitedly pick through my button box offering up the relevant pride flags and pronouns to their kids, parents who have detailed questions about harassment policies and gender affirming care while their kids are trying to wander away, parents who rush over with open arms and obvious glee on their faces knowing there's a space on campus dedicated to keeping their kids safe.
the ferocity with which these parents love and affirm their queer kids is so humbling and wonderful.

cannot believe twitter libs are whining that protesting outside Kavanaugh's house is iNcOnSiDeRaTe To HiS nEiGhBoRs. if you live nextdoor to Brett fucking Kavanaugh and you're not shitting on his porch or at least throwing eggs at his house every day you're wasting your life.

all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.

National parks and reserves to visit in South Africa
South Africa offers a wealth of national parks, as well as nature and game reserves. When it comes to breathtaking natural beauty and impressive wildlife, our rainbow nation is not found wanting. As such, it comes as no surprise that the country is considered ideal for nature escapes by many tourists. Our safaris also offer some of the best game viewing opportunities in the world. Here are just a few of South Africaâs national parks and reserves to consider: Pilanesberg National Park Pilanesberg National Park in the North West province (Image: Sourced / @pilanesberg_ & @soulachristos) Located in the North West province, Pilanesberg National Park is one of the countryâs major attractions. It is home to the Big 5, while also boasting an impressive abundance of flora and fauna. As the fourth largest reserve in South Africa, Pilanesberg is the perfect place to connect to nature and appreciate its beauty. Leisurely safaris, hot-air balloon rides and tranquil weekend escapes are popular at the natural paradise. Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve Located on the KZN South Coast is the well-known Oribi Gorge. This major nature and adventure destination is only a short drive from Port Shepstone and is renowned for its magnificent views. It can be accessed from several points of view, including the famously protruding Leopard Rock. There are rocks on these cliffs that are 100 million years old. Many walking trails in the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve also allow visitors to discover hidden treasures like the charming Samango Falls. Kruger National Park Kruger National Park (Picture: Unsplash / FrankvandenBergh) The iconic and world-famous Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa. Covering nearly 2 million hectares, it is home to the Big 5 and plenty of other animal species. Picture: Getaway Gallery Visitors to the Park can enjoy a number of wildlife experiences, including a self-drive glamping safari, guided tours or even walking safaris. As you immerse yourself in refreshing and breathtaking natural beauty, expect to encounter different animal species and interesting birdlife. ALSO SEE: Former Kruger National Park rangers sentenced for rhino poaching Madikwe Game Reserve Situated on the South Africa/Botswana border, the Madikwe Game Reserve is home to diverse landscapes and an abundance of animals. As one of the lesser-known reserves, it offers a less-crowded and more exclusive wildlife experience. The reserve is regarded as one of Africaâs best conservation areas and offers the chance to thoroughly appreciate the astounding beauty of nature and all it has to offer. Plus, thereâs a high chance of spotting interesting animals, including the African wild dog. Addo Elephant National Park Currently the third largest national park in South Africa, the original section of Addo Elephant Park was founded in 1931 and has expanded greatly since then. The famous Addo Elephant National Park is renowned for its natural beauty and its large elephant herds. It is the ideal destination to immerse yourself in a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the African elephant. Delight in the beauty of the flora and fauna as you walk through the diverse valleys, plains and forests of the bushveld. You can also enjoy the scenic picnic area which overlooks a waterhole. Undoubtedly, an experience at the Park offers a chance to enjoy the beauty of nature and wildlife. Follow us on social media for more travel news, inspiration, and guides. Dragâd Out Beechworth isn't hard work when it's something you love
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/work-for-something-you-love/
Dragâd Out Beechworth isn't hard work when it's something you love
Andy from Dragâd Out Beechworth shares how a love of community and drag helped shape a world-class festival in regional Victoria.
Growing up above a pharmacy in Oxford Street, the LGBTQIA+ community was always a part of Andyâs life.
âMy father was a dispensing pharmacist on Oxford Street for decades,â he told us.
âI was 8 years old when my parents took me to the protest back in 1978. We left before it got too violent, but my parents were always part of the community.
âBeing able to move to a regional town and help create a festival for people and families growing up with questions, or wanting to connect to their community is such an important thing.â
Now in its third year, Dragâd Out Beechworth is an amazing weekend of self-expression.
Celebrating drag, inclusion, and diversity, Andy came up with the idea for the festival when he was in the bathtub.
âI kept getting my husband to bring me pots of water so I could stay in there and keep networking,â he laughed.
âI was reaching out to iconic performers and was connected to Philmah Bocks.
âWe knew we were the right fit when we trailblazed into a massive first year that was not only brave and bold, but also very successful.â
A regional celebration for all
âDrag has always brought me joy, which is something the regional areas could use a bit more of,â he said.
âRegional queer communities donât get enough representation even though there are large numbers of us.â
âThis was a chance to change that.â
Being a border town Beechworth is a great connection point for people from all around to take part. The Festival has a specific focus on accessible family events.
When Wangarattaâs Rainbow Ball was postponed due to far-right hate, the committee of Dragâd Out put the event on during the festival with the Rainbow Community Angelâs support.
âWhat we do at our festival is so unique. We arenât pushing an agenda, we are just a flamboyant festive celebration of drag,â Andy said.
âThe conversations and feedback from families have been fantastic. Parents have told us how the kids go home after the family fair day and run around dressing up as whoever they want to be.
âEveryone in the town gets involved and suddenly the guys at the roughest bar are having conversations that they wouldnât normally have about people they know who are gay.â
World class celebration
But itâs not only an amazing cast of talented world-class performers that makes this festival shine, itâs the local production businesses as well.
âWe use our local production agencies that do sound and lighting for shows like The Voice and other big productions.â
âItâs incredible to watch our town transform into something you canât experience anywhere else.â
Beechworth recently won the Wellbeing Award for Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns with Dragâd Out as part of the submission.
The awards highlight initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and beautiful Australia.
âWinning a well-being category as a drag festival in the regional towns is huge. And it just goes to show you what good weâre doing.â
âWhen you look back at the joy and love we bring to people and families that come for the weekend, it stays with you the whole year.â
âItâs not itâs not hard when you work for something you love.â
Whether for the day or the weekend, Dragâd Out Beechworth has something for all.
Dragâd Out Beechworth takes place from the 22nd â 24th November. Find out more here.

That wasn't it.
This has been a spring/summer of surprises for movies for me. I wasn't expecting to like The Little Mermaid live action, but it turned out to be the best one imo - not that that is saying very much since these live actions are just blatant cash grabs but I would watch it again (except Scuttlebutt because). And I was super super hype for Barbie, but what a disappointment.
SPOILERS
Why was it so rushed? I felt no pay-off for anything because everything was just happening so fast. I didn't care nor do I understand the importance of America and her daughter to the story. They should have had more adventures in the real world, I think, instead of skipping back and forth like it was nothing. Also just in general, how dare they waste America Ferrera!
I don't care if it's a "choice" or not, the whole Take Sh*t Verbatim From Twitter or TikTok and Put It Directly Into People's Mouths thing is just cringey. The only people who talk like that, truly, are academics and maybe some university students who just started smelling themselves after taking a social sciences course. I'm sure there's a Professor Barbie but I'm pretty sure that wasn't Margot Robbie's Barbie. And coming out of a TWEEN'S mouth...That's not satire or absurdity, it's just bad and lazy writing to me. I think it let's Hollywood off the hook because why think of clever, entertaining ways to show all of this when they can just lift some cool tweets and academic work and throw that on the screen as lines? Easy Button!
Also, I know they were going for nostalgia and they are trying to sell us everything everywhere, but it was such a blatant commercial for Mattel. People are gonna run out and try to find Midge and Allan and and the Palazzo pants or whatever. I have never felt so uncomfortably aware of product placement and ADS in my life. But played for funzies tho *wink wink*!!!
I feel like I get what they were trying to do with the Ken stuff and Ryan Gosling was a FORCE so I'm not as unforgiving there, but it still felt kinda off to me. They sorta had the right idea but I definitely had a few Kens for my Barbies and they were together. They both hopped in Barbie's Jeep with Barbie and her friends and they kissed and hugged and even though I didn't have any of Barbie's homes, they lived together. I feel like some of the stuff with Ken didn't feel true to my experience of playing with them as a little girl - of course it was mostly about Barbie, but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that she was just hanging with the girlies all the time. I get it - it was supposed to be an exaggerated reverse of the Patriarchy but I don't think anything would have been lost if the Barbies had treated Kens more like say, absurd 50s housewives than annoying puppies who whine and nip at your heels no matter how much you try to tame/reassure them.
People are saying it was just some summer fun but the dialogue suggests otherwise.
Ugh. I was hoping for another Mean Girls or Heathers - unapologetically fun and feminist with a strong message, iconic because it just undeniably IS. Instead, it's this pink plastic empowerment ad with some really funny moments (most of which were already out and about before the movie hit theaters) that felt kinda like forced iconic. Like the equivalent of companies "standing with" BLM or turning rainbow for Pride but it's actually just empty virtue signaling so we will all please keep buying their products please.
Really liked the beginning in Barbie Land, Ryan Gosling was the absolute perfect Ken and I've known it since day one because that man can act and kills comedy, kinda love seeing Michael Cera randomly in stuff lately, Margot IS THE BARBIE, and yes I'm sorry Midge was absolutely a creepy idea but there was no way Midge was not gonna be creepy because the whole process of pregnancy and giving birth is a little bit of a horror story if we're being honest. But that's all I got.

thereâs just. thereâs just so much to unpack here. I mean:
- jensen emphasising this is the FIRST story he wants to tell about the spn verse (read: the destiel spin off is coming)
- chaos machine's new pride icon
- misha joking the prequel needs a trench-coated angel, which, based on historical data, only means one thing: the prequel absolutely has a trench-coated angel in it (our favourite one with the rainbow wings and squinty eyes, to be specific)
- kripke causing multiple social media platforms to explode by liking said tweet
- jared hearing about the prequel for the first time on twitter at the same time as the rest of us
- misha absolutely not hearing about the prequel for the first time on twitter at the same time as the rest of us
- the entirety of tumblr and twitter trying to fathom why jensen decided to make a show about a character the whole spn fandom have spent fifteen years wanting to punch very hard in the face
- hot topics include: will john's shitty actions be ignored or explored? is the prequel really just a cover for a destiel spinoff?? or just an elaborate and expensive method of ensuring cas finally, in some universe, gets to smite john?
- rowena considered for the prequel but not sam
- it becomes clear danneel and jensen knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they named their production company "chaos machine"
- et tu brute, gutted, bummed
- the increasingly likely possibility that the french mistake and the mockumentary were actually prophetic visions (related: someone check on misha)
- bobo berens and kripke add more fuel to the twittersphere fire
- most of the fandom yelling "fight, fight, fight" at the cast of their favourite show six months after it ending
- a complete, collective tumblr meltdown as fires that have been brewing in opposing corners of the fandom for over a decade implode into either vindication or denial
- unprecedented scenes in fandom history as self-confessed ex-j2 stans quietly let themselves into the cockles trash dumpster
- the realisation that jensen has been plotting this for months (important questions: how long has he known? when they were filming the finale?? at the creation con panel? is this what was going on under all that sexy silence???)
- most of tumblr on tenterhooks simply from watching two middle aged men follow and unfollow each other on twitter
- the fact there are still conventions booked and j2 panels that are absolutely going to happen after all of this
- no one knows if biden is okay
#i have definitely missed stuff#waking up this morning was.... an experience#i have no idea what to even think about all of this#i am currently just observing in sheer disbelief#there truly is no fandom like the spn fandom#shoutout to all the poor non spn blogs suffering rn#supernatural prequel#spn prequel#king jackles#jensen ackles#danneel ackles#misha collins#jared padalecki#j2 fallout theory#j2 fallout#destiel#deancas#cockles#cockles trash dumpster#spn#supernatural#spn cast#spn fandom#my stuff#my posts: spn prequel

In light of yesterdayâs excitement (Lee, Seanan and Small Gods all won Hugo Awards) Awemazia graced us with a visit. We thank each and every one of you who reads, shares, and cares about Small Gods.
âą âą âą âą âą
[image description: A delighted amber-haired woman in a wide straw hat and light blue sarong points to her red phone which emits a a rainbow of light, confetti and sweetness. Text reads âAWEMAZIA, SMALL GOD OF JOY SCROLLINGâ]
âą âą âą âą âą
A new baby is born to your favorite cousin; a new puppy comes home; a job promotion; a new home; a great achievement. Â And for a few hours, or days, everything is congratulations and joy, messages of good will coming so quickly that thereâs no time to respond to them all, no possible way to even see them all. Â Itâs a giddy bubble, a brief moment where it seems like nothing ever has been or possibly could be wrong, and then it passes, and the world goes back to what it was before. Â But now it contains something new, something amazing, and you get to carry that something with you into the future.
Awemazia has you now.
Awemazia isnât seen or spoken of as often as her sister. Â People see her presence as a form of boasting, like enjoying your moment of joy is overly proud or braggadocios or somehow gloating. Â And to be fair, spending too much time in her presence can be all those things. Â She is an addictive god. Â She uplifts and she intoxicates, she excites and she euphoriates, but she will, over time, turn into a sweet sickness, a pretty poison that drags you down into a place where no joy seems enough, no achievement seems as brilliant or as bright. Â But in short doses, in manageable amounts, she is among the kindest gods. Â She brings joy.
She hates how quickly people dismiss her as self-indulgent. Â She has her purpose and her place, and she is a necessary counter to her sister, who brings the cautionary tales, and poisons the edges of the world. Â Appalla and Awemazia both are better in short company, in bursts of joy or sadness, but that doesnât make them unimportant.
When she comes to you, when she knocks on the door, let her in. Â Welcome her. Â Enjoy her company, for a time. Â Let the people who will love you, Â love you. Â Let yourself feel the bright warmth of her presence.
Be grateful. Â Be honored. Â And be overjoyed.
We are always glad sheâs here.
