i think she always had friends who were guys when she was younger and that (along with her broader family stuff) is why she's hyped to have mike's sisters to stay and to have Lucy (briefly) and why she kind of digs being in the limo with the bridal party singing i will survive.

she'd genuinely make a good therapist if she had the time and money to get qualified and set up.

idk why but i feel like she wore a suit to her wedding. or at the very least didn't wear a big fancy white dress.

for reasons i don't remember - possibly to do with the newspaper article about his death - i always assumed that his father wasn't really around and that he was mostly raised by his mum and then introduced to scouting through his granddad. that's why he also tried so hard to be a good dad to Daley

bisexual but didn't know any queer people in life to be able to know that's what he was/thought everyone felt like that. definitely had one or two of those explosive friendships that queer teenagers sometimes have before they realise what they're feeling.

he's actually kind and has a lot of emotional depth when he's not being an idiot.

he's got a fondness for kitty but neither he or i have decided whether it's platonic or not.

he's a bit fruity and definitely has some kind of attraction towards the captain and or julian that he hasn't figured out and probably never will. it's definitely to do with their ability to order him around.

i flip-flop between believing he was an only child versus the middle child between two older sisters and a younger sister. they used to play dress-up.

Kitty

see the above fondness for Thomas - a silly crush or adorable friendship.

i don't know why but i feel like she blames herself for her mother's death.

she loves her dresses very much but also enjoyed trying on trousers as a teenager and pretending to be a pirate. until Eleanor got her told off for it.

she kept multiple diaries throughout her life and could never figure out how eleanor always knew everything she was thinking.

she could see the ghosts when she was a baby but grew out of it. they felt familiar to her when she died.

Francis

i wish i could headcanon that he died alone and unloved but it's probably not true.

i think he didn't have any siblings but he and tom were raised as if they were brothers but thomas was older and more entitled while francis could never get away with anything.

Eleanor

i honestly have never given her character much thought beyond the fact that i dislike her. i like to think she regretted how she treated kitty when she was on her deathbed but i know she probably didn't

i also like to think she would have been less happy with how her life turned out after kitty died than she'd hoped. people are nice to her for a while because they think she's sad but once that wears off, they start to realise she's not very nice when Kitty isn't beaming next to her.

alright hhhhh well my story’s pretty funny actually LMAO i think i already answered this some other time iirc? but yeah i started “having doubts” in middle school. i wasn’t interested in boys, i was genuinely meh in front of any dude my female friends found cute, i never thought about dating and i never thought about marriage. some people (my family) called me a “late bloomer”, my classmates secretly made fun of me for being “gay”.

thing is, i was obviously gay but i didnt know at the time- however everyone else did 💀💀💀 i was out there saying shit like “i wish men didn’t exist” “i wish the planet was only populated by women” and stuff like that on the DAILY and each time my classmates looked at me like 👁👄👁 and it was like the class’ inside joke that i wasn’t a part of. i was bullying victim unfortunately and i was the class punching bag 🚶‍♀️

one day, i was at my (at the time) best friend’s birthday party and all the girls in class were invited with some boys to her house. i remember we were playing truth or dare, my turn came and i chose truth; there was this girl who hated me with all her heart for no reason whatsoever and loved humiliating me while pretending to be my friend and i was too much of a pushover to say anything to her, anyway bitch started laughing and yelled in front of everyone “IS IT TRUE THAT YOU’RE A LESBIAN?????” and i was ,,,,, pretty much shocked. firstly i thought that was a dirty word, i had never known lesbians irl and i only knew gay men and i kinda associated lesbians with something taboo? i think i was maybe 11 or 12 years old but it was all peer influence, i was lucky to have parents who were never homophobic and never taught me to hate? so this “hesitation” towards this word was something that was instilled into me by my schoolmates who treated it as if it was something shameful and to make fun of. anyway, i told that girl to mind her own business and i was silent and sulking for the rest of the party.

several days later i was at the mall with my parents who asked me what was wrong bc i had been behaving weirdly since the party and i remember telling them exactly “we were playing a game and [girl’s name] asked me if i were…” and i didn’t finish the sentence. “if you were?” and i still was hesitant to answer but then i said “gay” in a really small voice and i remember getting super flustered and feeling so embarrassed?? and my parents just looked at each other and i think that was the start of everything lol in the next years through middle and high school i was so confused about myself i was refusing to label myself bc i thought i was “figuring myself out” and for a long while i thought i was bisexual. i used to tell my ex best friend about these doubts that i had and she was always a bit weird about it 🧍‍♀️

she randomly asked me shit like “do you wanna have sex with a guy? if you had a boyfriend would you have sex with him? would you suck his dick?” and shit like that and i always was so embarrassed about answering those questions? because my answer was always a straight up no, but i thought something was wrong with me if i didnt wanna do stuff with men. despite that, i still didnt truly question my attraction to men, i just went “yeah i mean all girls secretly think that men are ugly right that’s normal” for SO MANY YEARS LOL i thought everyone had the same experience??? i reached the point where i was 100% sure of my attraction to girls and i was forcing myself to be attracted to men as well bc “that’s the right thing for me”. i forced myself to be enthusiastic when my friends talked about boyfriends, i forced myself to pretend to have a crush on celebrities and THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING BUT LIKE ONE TIME I WAS WATCHING THIS TV SHOW WITH MY MOM AND THERE WAS I THINK ORLANDO BLOOM AS A GUEST AND I GOT THE IDEA OF PRETENDING TO BE HAPPY TO SEE HIM BC I THOUGHT HE WAS “THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN EVER” AND I SPENT LIKE HALF AN HOUR INSISTENTLY TELLING MY MOM “LOOK AT HIM HE IS SO ATTRACTIVE OH I AM SO IN LOVE WITH HIM” TO SHOW MY MOM I LIKED MEN 💀💀💀💀💀💀 I DID THAT A LOT IT’S LIKE I WANTED VALIDATION FOR IT i want to bury myself in sand thinking of this

anyway after an extremely failed coming out to my grandma whom i saw for the first time ever expressing disgust at the thought of me potentially being attracted to women i was terrified to do it again and i refused to tell any other member of my family. i still haven’t truly come out and i don’t think i ever will tbh even if i know my parents would love me and accept me regardless i still think of my grandma’s reaction and i start legit crying whenever i think of that

march 2020 comes and i finally accept that i am a lesbian. how did that happen? i was watching harry potter and i went “holy shit i wanna fuck hermione” literally that’s it nothing else. nothing else. that was that. that’s how i knew 100% i was a lesbian and i was tired of pretending i wasn’t. don’t ask me why, don’t ask me how but that’s literally what happened.

and that’s when everything started making sense tbh? like i just felt as if i had a huge huge burden lifted off myself for the first time ever? i said it out loud and i felt happy? the more i said it, the happier i felt? through the years i had always known deep down i didn’t like men, i was just pretending i was, comp-het was hitting me SO HARD and then finally i stopped letting it influence me.

what helped me was asking myself extremely specific questions after that to be sure, in the same fashion my ex bestie used to be weird about it when i “came out” to her. i imagined myself in really specific situations with fantasy boyfriends, i asked myself what i liked about men and the answer was always “nothing”, i asked myself “could i be capable of falling in love with a man?” and the way i was setting standards so high and ridiculous for any human for my “dream man” was the obviously negative answer to that question, i asked myself more intimate questions like “if it came down to it would you ever actually sleep with a man?” and the answer was always a solid no. basically putting myself in theoretical situations is what helped me finally understand. i had done that through the years and my answers were the same since the beginning, but i still refused to admit the truth to myself, until one day i just stopped.

and that’s my journey LOL it’s kinda pathetic tbh,,,,,, i could’ve been much happier with myself if i had just admitted it to myself since the beginning, bc deep down i always knew. would’ve spared me years of not feeling okay with myself, would’ve spared me years of surrounding myself with the wrong people who caused me terrible pain every time i heard them say lesbians are disgusting. but anyway, what’s done is done and i’m just happy now i get to be free and accept myself for who i am, unapologetically. on the internet. bc in real life i’m still traumatized 🚶‍♀️

i think questions are the easiest place to start. imagine yourself in situations, ask yourself how would you act and why. figure yourself out bit by bit and take your time to understand what you like. don’t ever let yourself feel pressured by anyone, don’t even let yourself feel pressured by the need of labels. don’t let anyone tell you your experiences are wrong or not valid, don’t let anyone tell you there’s a set way to explore your identity, don’t force yourself to do anything you’re not comfortable doing. if you need to vent, my dms are always open. be happy exploring your identity, there is no right way to do it. and remember that you’re always valid. 💜

My prompt was: “Character A is fed up of their less-than-suitable flat and the smashed window and lack of heating has turned out to be the last straw. In an attempt to be comfortable during yet another chilly night, A knocks on their apartment neighbour's door and silently wishes that character B will be generous and hospitable.”

It was the middle of November in New York, snow and ice has coated every surface, even Flynn felt like they had turned to ice when she arrived back at her apartment. They’d just gotten back from the campus library after the librarian had practically forced them to leave – damn music theory, Flynn didn’t get why she had to do that to be a DJ or a band manager for Julie but oh well.

Flynn had just put on their fluffiest pyjamas and was heading to be when they knocked their arm against the radiator – she recoiled, expecting it to have burned her, but it didn’t. they touched it again. Ice cold. She groaned in annoyance before checking the thermostat, which read at 73°F.

“Shit,” they muttered, the heating was broken. Flynn immediately pulled out her phone, texting Willie in hoped they’d be home, and have working heating.

They groaned when they realised that their only option was the girl next door: Carrie Wilson. She was Julie’s ex-best friend, well, they made up at the start of the school year because they were both fed up with the drama, but there was still some tension between her and Flynn. They had to admit, they did think Carrie was cute, they had a crush on her in middle school, but nothing could ever come of it. After about 20 minutes of pacing, she finally admitted defeat and packed some of their things into a bag before heading across the hall to knock on Carrie’s door.

“Taylor,” Carrie greeted, clearly not pleased to have someone, especially Flynn, knocking on her door at almost midnight.

“Wilson,” Flynn muttered in response, noticing the old Bobcats hoodie she was wearing.

“What do you want? I’m trying to sleep, if you didn’t notice the time.”

“I noticed. But I don’t have a choice, my heating decided to die on me and my apartment is like a walk-in freezer – Willie is out of town right now and unfortunately I don’t know anyone else in this building,” Flynn explained and Carrie was a little taken aback as she let them into the apartment.

Flynn was about to dump their blanket on the sofa but Carrie stopped them, “No, there’s no point in you sleeping there, you might as well have stayed at your own apartment,” Carrie commented, “you can take my bed.”

“Well, I can’t force you onto the sofa, then you’ll be cold and that doesn’t really solve anything.” “Then what do you suggest?” Carrie sighed.

“I’m sure your daddy bought you the biggest bed he could, there’s probably enough room that we can share without being anywhere near each other,” Flynn suggested, sure they were imagining the wat Carrie’s cheeked flushed just a little bit pinker. Flynn followed Carrie to her bedroom, setting their bag down on the floor; Carrie decided to come up with some ground rules, stuff that Flynn was or wasn’t allowed to do, but Flynn drowned most of it out because they were so tired. She practically collapsed into the warmth of the bed, the side Carrie had said they had to stay on, and fell asleep instantly.

When Flynn woke up the next morning, they could feel an arm wrapped around their waist – for a moment they had forgotten about what had happened the night before but then the weight of a head moving on her shoulder brought her out of the daze, “Carrie!” they exclaimed, rolling away as Carrie woke abruptly, “What the hell? After your lecture about boundaries last night!”

Same goes for you! What’s your excuse?”

“I have a close enough relationship with Julie that we’re comfortable sharing a bed during sleepovers and sometimes we cuddle when watching movies. So, again, what they hell?”

Carrie flushed pink, seemingly unable to find an excuse for the way she had nestled so easily into a cuddle with Flynn, both girls were silent, not knowing what to say to each other.

Then Carrie let out a groan and rubbed her hands over her face, “Okay, there’s something I’ve gotta say, just please don’ t get mad,” she broke the silence, something Flynn wasn’t expecting, “I really like you Flynn, I’ve had a crush on you for years. But with all the drama with Julie you’ve been kinda hostile, I-I was afraid to make a move.”

Flynn let out a small laugh, “You’re such an idiot, Wilson,” they said – Carrie looked like she was about to make a snarky retort when Flynn leaned across the bed and pressed their lips to hers. The kiss only lasted a couple moments, but when Flynn pulled back Carrie was left in shock.

“Oh…” she mumbled, and Flynn laughed, “You-”

“I’ve liked you since middle school Carrie, Bobby’s been making jokes about it all year, I just thought you were ignoring it because you didn’t like me.”

Carrie laughed, “So we’re both oblivious lesbians then?”

“You know I have stereotypes.”

His first attempt at flirting was like “hey ivy...... wanna see me beat Sam at 8pool for 3 hrs straight?” And Ivy immediately joined Sam’s side and demolished Seb in 8ball.

Ivy ended up hanging out with the ASS trio on a daily.

Seb and Ivy started dating Fall 1 of year 1 after they confessed their feelings for each other during the dance of the moonlight jellies festival

They moved in together 3 days after Seb’s bday

And were married Summer 10

They fast burned this bitch but they are so stupidly in love

In Year 3 Spring Ivy’s other cousin on her moms side became pregnant and chose to give it up for adoption, but beforehand she asked everyone in the family if they wanted a baby

Quick Facts About Milo:

Milo was smuggled into Pelican Town by the Traveling Merchant when he was 6 and was taken in by Gil and Marlon.

Gil was 55 and Marlon was 46 when they “adopted” Milo

Gil took the most care of him and Marlon kind of had the attitude of like... a dad when your family pressures him to get a dog. First week their like FINE I GUESS we have to TAKE CARE of HIM. Next week: me and the bestie!

Milo looks up to Gil so much. His favorite brown jacket was Gil’s old one.

Marlon took Milo into the mines when he turned ten as a sort of “coming of age” trip and.... a bat nipped a part of his ear off.

I head canon that Evelyn taught the kids in town before they went off to high school, so four times a week (he’d usually stay home Friday to reset and relax or help out his dads) he’d have to socialize with the others

But he was always a few years older than them so he felt kind of distant

The others in question were Alex, Penny, Sam, Abigail, Sebastian, and Maru

Once he graduated middle school he convinced Gil to let him homeschool so he could find geodes and sell them during most the day.

When he was 17 he finally reached floor 120 of the mines, but on his way climbing back up he got attacked by three squid kids and void spirits, lost his left ear, and blacked out

He was rescued by Marlon, who rushed him home and took care of him

Because Pelican Town didn’t have a doctor at that time, the bus was broken down, all Marlon could do was try and clean up his ear and give him antibiotics and make sure it didn’t become infected

He lost his hearing in that ear

That was the biggest injury he’s gotten so far, but he was grateful when Harvey moved to town

Harvey opened his clinic, fresh faced (ish) at 26 and immediately some scruffed up 24 year old saunters in like “thank GOD ur here dude, here’s fourteen years worth of problems. Good luck.”

Milo’s not really a social person, at 25 he discovered he could easily buy a car and drive out to the desert to try his hand at skull cavern. He came prepared but ended up needing emergency surgery that night anyway

I like to believe there’s another town (not as small as Pelican) but close knit in the desert. I hc that Sandy’s shop, skull caverns, and the trader are just like the entry road to a nice desert town

She got into fashion and design when Emily pulled her and Sandy into it in sophomore year of high school

Pheobe and Emily work together on a small clothing company, they design the clothes together, Emily makes them, Pheobe made a website and uploads them there, and Sandy sells some at her shop :D

-okey so let’s start with wei wuxian as a sophomore, he has the highest score in his generation, he is the popular guy, like everybody likes him, but they have good reasons to like him, he’s kind funny and good at everything, he met lan Shan when he was going to annoy his little brother and just saw him there and thought, “mmmm, I want to be friends with him” so he starts trying to talk to him but the boy only says “mmn” which makes everything more difficult, he tries to get jiang Cheng and nie huisang to help him but it seems like jiang Cheng has his own boy problems and nie huisang just doesn’t want because he is lazy, so he is by his own, when his sister ask him if he likes the boy, he is like “no, no, obviously not”, you know, like a liar

-lan Wangji, so he is a freshman,he plays the piano as a extra activity and just as wei wuxian he has the best grades in his year, he is a little bit of a new sensation in the school, he is mysterious and his big bro is super popular so everyone thought that they were going to get another lan xichen, when they realize he was in fact nothing like his brother they stopped trying to talk to him expect for this sophomore who is kinda annoying but he thinks of him as a friend (he likes him obviously, his brother made him aware of this fact)

-big bro lan is popular as hell, no matter what year you are, you know who he is, he tries to remember everybody’s name but is kinda difficult when there is so much people, even though he is trying to remember the freshman names because his little brother is in there, whenever he goes to talk to his brother or any other freshman they all seem to act different expect for this other freshman, Jiang Cheng, he quickly learns that he is the younger brother of Yanli but the boy doesn’t seems to know him, so he tries to talk to him as much as possible, it’s easier than to talk to someone who acts different with him

-jiang Cheng is a freshman, he doesn’t take any extra curses because he is shit at music instruments, he can sing, actually he is amazing at, but he is shy (and way to harsh), because of this he doesn’t have many freshman friends, he often hangs out with Nie huisang, he would hang out with his brother but there is always so many people with him a lot of them who said really bad things at him so he doesn’t, one day this senior starts talking to him, again everyone starts to threaten him, but he doesn’t know who this boy is, just that he his kind to him, he doesn’t get mad at him when he rambles, he is handsome and fuck, he has a crush (real moment of realization “fuckin me, thinking basic kindness is romance”)

-nie huisang is a junior and the gym coach little brother, he is smart but doesn’t care enough to try and have good grades, he goes to art clases and sometimes he skips gym class cause no matter how much nie mingjue screams at him, he never fails gym, he is friends with wei wuxian since the last year and this year he made jiang cheng his friend, he soon realized that the brothers are dense as fuck so he normally tries lo let them with their soon to be boyfriends and talks with jiang Yanli and Wen Qing

-wen ning is a sophomore and is best friends with wei wuxian, even if he is super shy he likes to be around him

-wen qing in a senior heading to medicine school and is such a badass, she is a badass lesbian, she is dating junior mianmian, a soccer player, and they are ICONIC

-jiang Yanli is a senior as well as is friends with lan Xichen, she is dating thundere Jin zixuan, a junior who took a month to ask her out, but he is cute and she likes him so it’s okey, she is in charge of make his like brothers not die alone with how dumb they are

-Jin Guangyao is Jin zixuan half brother but they have a good relationship, he is lan Xichen bestie and oh god, can that dumb boy just realize that he is in love with the freshman idiot or does he have to keep pushing him

-the juniors (lan yuan, lan jingyi and Jin Ling) are still in middle school and they do the best they can at setting their (the lans) cousin with the boy he likes but nothing seems to work, they are just tired

Crop-hoodies and tight leggings were never your first choice of clothing. Heck, they were never even your last choice.

So called 'tomboys' always wore them. You preferred actual tomboy clothing over the ones you were wearing right now. Like big sweatpants and a baggy shirt with the name of a rock band on it.

So why were you going out of your comfort zone today?

For the longest time, as long as you could remember, you've had a major crush on your friend's brother, Changbin. He'd always hang around when you were over at her place and you've gamed together a couple of times as well - online of course.

Seeming as how he liked to talk to you about such things, you had a small glimpse of hope that maybe he returned the feelings you had for him in the slightest.

You had kept your secret in check, hidden deep under your baggy shirts - just like your boobs were, but had an unfortunate slip-up to your friend during your last sleepover.

Jinnie was Changbin's little sister and practically your best friend since what? Middle-school maybe?

The polar difference between the two of you often had mislead people into thinking you were a lesbian couple, with you being the more male-biased partner, but thankfully, she never let that bother her the way you thought it would.

While being a big fan of bikinis and short skirts, Jinnie was never one to cower under pressure or embarrassment. So when her exes, who were mostly senior boys at high school, would tease her - not bullying exactly - about your assumed relationship, she would stand tall, proud and bite back,

Then Jisung had teased him about it - all, "falling for her and her gaming skills", to which Changbin had responded,

"I see her more as a gaming bestie, you feel me? Cause I dunno, her being my sister's best friend might make it awkward".

You replayed the apparent words that left Jinnie's mouth.

So he sees you as a dude? That's just great.

Not even a week had gone by since the eavesdropping and Changbin had sent you an e-mail.

What are we? In the 60s?

You opened it up to reveal an attachment - an invitation to a gaming tournament where you could meet all the YouTubers who game. So like comic-con with gaming.

At first you typed in an entire paragraph, apologizing for not being able to make it due to 'other plans' but you reconsidered before hitting send.

If a gamer is what he saw you as, then you could impress him with something he likes about you.

However, the cargo pants and big t-shirts weren't gonna cut it - you considered this invitation as more of a date and decided, for once in your damn life, to dress up for the boy. He deserved it after having to see you only hidden under layers of clothing for so many years.

So here you were, seated quietly on Jin's bed while she swiped on your mascara for you after you accidently pricked your eye with the bristles the first time.

Nothing too major had been changed, other than mascara, and after careful consideration, some highlight. No foundation and no eyeshadow or even lipstick. You settled for your green-apple chapstick instead.

You wouldn't say it was a life-changing moment for you because it's not like you were looking at someone new, but when you glimpsed at the mirror a few seconds later, you felt pretty.

That's something you haven't felt in a while.

All the insecurities that you had hidden under your big clothing were stripped away to reveal, what you felt were, your flaws.

"I'd smash", Jin nodded in approval with a duck face while walking in circles around you, "also who knew you had such a nice butt".

"Okay okay, now go get your man sis", she cheered on quietly while I descended the stairs to the living room where Changbin was on the couch, scrolling mindlessly through his phone.

To say in the least, Changbin was surprised - when he had asked you to accompany him to GAME-CON, he hadn't expected a full on snack to give him a slight arousal.

He has assumed you would wear your usual baggy stuff, which he low-key found adorable - but unlike you, would never let it slip up to anybody.

"Hey, you" he chuckled nervously attempting to establish a more comfortable aura, "Have you seen (y/n) anywhere?" He joked and you socked his shoulder lightly.

"Alright then, let's get it"

GAME-CON had been an absolute pleasure, especially with fucking Seo Changbin next to you, brushing his arm against yours occasionally or pulling you by the hand to go see something exciting.

The thrill of having the boy right there enhanced the experience so much more than it originally was.

While Changbin was in the restroom, you watched a cute couple playing together. The girl kept squealing whenever there was blood on the small computer screen and she'd cling onto the boy's arm.

When Changbin came back, only one gaming booth was available so you agreed to take turns trying out the newest unreleased updates.

The first game he played was the new and improved Tomb Raider.

To be honest, it was quite more violent than you expected so you started to try out the things that the other girl had been doing.

You scooched closer to Changbin and his determined face showed no sign of him noticing, even though the boy was burning with desire underneath his demeanour.

During the storyline in which Lara Croft cuts the neck of an enemy and blood spurts out, you throw away your pride and let out an awkward mid-high pitch squeal and tug of Changbin's arm ever so lightly.

He gives you an odd look but continues to watch.

After this repeats a few times, Changbin exits the game and takes your hand, leading you towards the closest Cafeteria.

"Okay what's up?" He asks you suspiciously and you feel yourself heat up.

"Nothing is up, I just felt a little frightened is all".

Changbin scoffed, not in a mean way, and stated proudly,

"(Y/n), you play Mortal Combat and Splinter Cell every weekend with me and you don't even flinch, what's going on?"

You let out a defeated sigh and confess,

"I just- wanted you to stop seeing me as just a dude-girl and more of a girl who is -"

"Girly?" He cut you off.

You looked down at the marble table-top, tracing your fingers silently a long the cracked pattern.

Changbin stops your ever-wandering hands when he cups them in his relatively larger ones.

"Tell me, (y/n), despite me appreciating how boyish you are - and maybe teasing you about how tough you look when you play, have I ever, asked you to stop doing it? Have I ever asked you to stop being macho and just so chill?"

You shook your head no and he sighed, bringing one hand up to lift your chin.

"And you know why I haven't? Because I like how interesting you are. I like how intense you are with gaming. I like that you don't really put an effort into your clothes but still end up looking so cute".

You blushed at his comment, expecting it to stop there but he kept going.

"You were always beautiful and you still are - and frankly, if you were a boy, you'd be the cutest one out there".

You were currently dumbfounded as you tried to find the right sentence fragments to piece together in a situation as such.

"I like who you are, completely as you are - and even though this outfit, out of the blue, made me feel things, I like everything about you, whether it's with clothes or without", he said smirking at the last part and you did the only thing that came to mind, swatting his hand away playfully.

"Let's get something to eat, I'm starving", you broke the obligatory silence and Changbin appreciated you reverting back to your original self.

"Whatever you want, boyfriend", he chuckled as you gasped in playful offence, almost tackling him to the ground then and there.

Maybe nothing was official as of yet and maybe that was okay.

Modern/YouTubers AU Klance Pride Headcanon [Part 1]

So this is from a hc convo I was having with my klance shipping buddy @destielschild 

So basically klance meet at a Pride parade and these are also my general Voltron gang Pride headcanons. 

So the voltron team is split into 2 friendship groups Lance’s friendship group (Hunk, Hunk’s moms, Shay, and Lance’s lesbian sister - Elena)

Hunk 

Hunk in this au is the lovable straight ally - he’s been to Pride every year since he was a child because of his Moms, it’s a thing they do - a tradition. 

He and Shay are dating they are the most adorable couple 

He’s wearing his “I <3 my moms” rainbow shirt and its so wholesome

He once got shouted at by an angry gay for being there and not being LGBTQ+, but Mom Ana tore the guy a new one telling him how supportive and amazing her beautiful son is.

This year he’s holding a sign that says “You know it’s bad when a straight guy is marching” - you know the one

He and Shay have a YouTube cooking channel called Hunkalicious and PassTheShay cook things - They’re pretty well known and do lots of collabs with Lance.

Their YouTube name is Hunk-A-love-&-A-Pinch-A-Shay 

(They have so many Shay is Salt memes bc she can be sALTY AF when needed)

Hunk also has a side gaming/sciene-y things channel (How he met Pidge) 

Shay

Shay is bisexual

The two of them are so in love and sometimes they sit in coffee shops and admire pretty girls together (Shay always adds on ‘Of course she’s not nearly as pretty as you.’ Hunk is the prettiest boy fight me on this. he giggles every time and blushes)

She’s wearing a ‘bisexu-whale’ top Hunk got her bc she majors in marine bio and she ADORES whales.

Lance

Lance is tagging along with Hunk’s crew - He hasn’t been out for long (his family are v Catholic and traditionally Cuban - his dad didn’t speak to him for a month after he came out) and it’s his first EVER Pride.

He’s super nervous although he’s literally been adopted into the Garrett family he feels like hes intruding tagging along on their traditional Pride march.

Shay notices INSTANTLY and makes him feel right at home in the bi community.

“Lance, I know you haven’t been out for long, but you are a valid bisexual, no matter what anyone says, your sexuality is yours to define and nobody else’s. You belong here.”

(This is why we love Shay) Lance cries for five minutes and is enveloped in a group hug.

Shay paints Bi hearts onto Lance’s cheeks (one gets smudged but he doesn't care) 

He does his make up (he hardly every wears make up, but he loves doing it) - Purple to pink to blue eyeshadow, and a touch of eyeliner.

Of course he also sprinkles a fuckton of pink glitter over himself, the Moms, Hunk and Shay

Lance is a pretty well known YouTuber - SirLancelot (he does mostly Vlogs, make-up tutorials, random funnies, relatables videos, occasional gaming sessions and he also pops up frequently on Hunk and Shay’s channel - it’s adorable and when Lance is involved they’re always “w/ the bestie” videos) And he decided to Vlog the whole thing - telling his subscribers in a mini vid that he’d be going to his first Pride and uploading a Vlog of it the following day. 

When he first get’s there there are so many people and it’s all so much he thinks he might just faint, but as soon the Parade starts, Lance is on cloud nine. Hunk is manning the Vlog camera (he offered to as it’s Lances first one and he wants Lance to enjoy it)and captures Lance grinning and chanting and waving his “AIN’T NO LIE BABY, BI BI BI” sign with gusto.

He turns to grin at Hunk who is literally internally screaming and shaking Shay gushing to the camera about “LOOK AT HIM! HE’S SO HAPPY AND ADORABLE!!! HE LOOKS SO CUTE, LOOK AT HIM SHAY- MY BEST FRIEND!! I’M SO PROUD!”

Lance is wearing a “my BI-FI signal is strong” shirt that the moms got him. 

Elena 

Lance’s sister, they’re the same age - her mom is actually Lance’s Aunt, but the pregnancy was accidental and Camille never wanted children, so at aged 5 when Camille finally told her mother to stuff it and that she did not want children - Rosa took Elena in as one of her own

From then on the two of them were permanently joined at the hip (Elena is just as goofy and just as stubborn as Lance - and both of them are strong willed and will Fight You about womens rights, POC rights and LGBT+ rights)

She is a Lesbian™

She came out when she was 15 - she had a massive crush on her best friend Lucy and told mom and Lance first (their other siblings found out through evesdropping and general sneakiness) and told dad a few days before her Quinces. He didn’t show up so when the father-daughter dance came up Lance was the one who calmly got up - as if it were meant to be him up there with her and danced with her as she tried not to cry. And the first person Lance told he might be Bi was Elena. (She always kinda knew)

She regularly features in Lance’s videos (she sort of half lives at his and Hunk’s place - crashes on the couch every other night) known (early on) in Lance’s post-moving-in-with-Hunk videos as That Cuban Lesbian™ who always interrupts Lance’s videos to complain or yell at him in Spanish. Ofc anyone who’s a real Lancelot fan knows who she is. 

She was in his Coming Out video where he told the world he was Bi - and they called mom together, for support, and then told Hunk. (Hunk cried many tears)

She had a Very Gay™ crush on Shay when they first met and it’s a running joke that Hunk got to Shay first and that Elena is Bitter about this.

She has a mini lesbian flag tattooed onto her shoulder blade - Lance went with her to get it.

Keith’s friendship group (Pidge, Shiro, Matt, Allura, Coran and Alfor)

Pidge

Pidge is Nonbinary They/Them or occasionally She/Her pronouns

They identify as an Ace Lesbian (just hear me out - cute dates where Pidge is all flustered bc Pretty Girl!!! And just talking about Science Stuff™ and blushing aaraarrrrrrrgggghhhh)

Pidge is also a YouTuber but like an actual Big Time™ YouTuber - They used to be HackerKatie but then they came out and changed their name so now they’re HackerPidge (If you’ve ever watched MilesChronicals that is what Pidge’s Channel is like - also a Gaming Channel - for Gaming) 

They live in a space-y flat with Keith, Shiro and Matt but they’re like never there??? (Once they straight up disappeared for a week and one morning Keith walked into the kitchen to just see Pidge sat on top of the fridge eating a bowl of Lucky Charms™)

One time they pulled a massive prank on Shiro (which they ofc recorded and put on YouTube) and when Shiro found out he banned them from YouTube and all Social Media for two weeks. Turns out that was a Bad Idea™ because Pidge fans (Hacklets) started Major Discourse on Twitter and Tumblr bc they didn’t get updates and there was nothing on Pidge’s social media (there was a theory that Pidge was dead). Shiro allowed Pidge back on YouTube and stuff and Pidge made a video explaining with Shiro in the back of the video holding one of those Shame Signs that said “I banned my child from social media for two weeks and accidentally started an internet war”

Shiro and Matt

Shiro is a very Bi Dad Brother and he is Very Tired™

Matt is the Gayest being you will ever meet.

He and Matt have been dating since High school, they were best friends until Matt blurted at Prom to the entire student body that he’d been in love with Shiro since middle school

Shiro felt the same and they started dating (The entire school was relieved - there were betting pools on when one or the other was finally going to fess up)

They have a joint YouTube channel (GaysInSpace - Matt-Man and SpaceDad) Its mostly a fitness/yoga and some make-up videos (they did the Boyfriend Does My Make-up - it was horrendous) He did a galaxy make-up tutorial ONCE because he and Matt had just got into loads of space shows/films and was forever named SpaceDad because of it. 

They mostly do couples yoga and fitness videos which generally turn into shenanigans after the first like ten minutes - they are the power couple of space and their fans named themselves the ‘Gaybies’

Shiro and Matt have matching shirts and hoodies 

Hoodies: Matt - If found return to Shiro / Shiro: Keep him.

T Shirts: Matt - My Boyfriend is Bi-Lingual (bc Shiro can speak fluent Japanese) / Shiro - My boyfriend’s gay, but I’m not. 

They have their flags painted on their faces - Gay for Matt and Bi for Shiro.

Matt bought a giant gay flag at the start of the parade and has since tied it around his shoulders 

Shiro’s holding a sign that on the front says “God said Adam and Eve so I did both” but on the back has a message that Matt hasn’t seen “My boyfriend has no clue I’m going to propose today.”

Shiro proposes halfway through the parade (Lance’s group was actually just a little behind them and he and Hunk caught the entire thing on camera). The music from the parade cut out and all of their closes high school friends, Shiro’s dad and Matt’s parents emerge from the crowd whilst a song they both adore (“Marry Me” by Jessica Smith - when Lance uploads the video he makes sure to link the song in the description to credit the artist) starts to play, Shiro gets passed a mic and he starts to sing (his voice isn’t perfect but it’s damn good) When the chorus (May All Recognise Real love Yours and mine Make all love Equal) comes on the friends and family members hold up the lyrics to spell out MARRY ME. Matt is completely stunned (the gay flag cape had been stolen by Keith earlier so at least he didn’t look like a complete idiot) Then Shiro’s getting down on one knee and opening a box with a ring in it at Matt’s crying. 

“What do you say, Cadet? Wanna get hitched?”

“Oh for christ- Just put the ring on my finger and kiss me idiot!” 

Matt’s still crying as Shiro slides the band onto Matt’s finger and swoops up for a kiss, before turning around to yell “HE SAID YES!”

Allura

Allura is a beautiful Lesbian and she and Elena get on swimmingly (Elena has the biggest crush on her and she and Lance cry about how beautiful she is from her videos)

Her user is PrincessOfAltea she does beauty tips and tricks as well as a gaming channel - she’s surprisingly good and is one of The Best players in a game called Altea (It’s an RPG Quest series) - her subscribers love how amazing she is and she usually plays with Matt, Pidge, and Shiro - Keith sometimes joins in and he’s surprisingly good. 

She’s Alfor and Coran’s daughter (Alfor’s biologically - they got a surrogate mother - who they still keep in contact with - she’s Ace/Aro and also goes to Pride with them but she couldn’t make it this year)

She met Shiro through working out at the same gym - He mad a mini bi crush on her and gushed to Matt about the Pretty Girl at the gym for weeks

(Matt didn’t get too jealous - as soon as he lent over and pressed a kiss to Shiro’s lips, he would generally shut up about Pretty Girl and think about Pretty Boyfriend instead)

Allura is covered head-to-foot in glitter (as are Coran and Alfor) because of an incident that happened at Shiro’s flat with Pidge, a pop-tart and glitter Allura was opening to dab on her face. 

She has the lesbian flag painted like war paint on her cheeks and a pastel top with two girls kissing on it that says “Girls like Girls like Boys Do” on it. 

She’s also parading around with a sign that says “I love my emo gay son” with a picture of Keith’s face on it.

Keith

Keith has been out for years. Literally since he was thirteen. 

(He came out via a dinner conversation, when Matt was over for dinner at the Shirogane Household one evening. Matt had been talking about how all teenage boys are supposed to be obsessed with girls and wanting to date girls etc. and Keith had simply said “Well I don’t like any girls but I was in calculus the other day with Jared and I thought he looked cute. I wouldn’t mind being his boyfriend.”  A bug eyed Papa Shirogane had asked “Keith are you gAY?” - Keith had asked what that meant and after Shiro had explained “B-boys who l-like other b-boys... romantically.” Keith had shrugged dismissively and said “Well I guess then, yeah, I am.”)

He’d also been watching SirLancelot’s videos since Lance had begun YouTubing (at first they’d just been braces-Lance and Hunk prank videos and relatables middle schoolers version) And has pretty much been In Love since.

However, this was Keith’s first ever Pride - the only reason he’d actually agreed to go was because he knew Shiro planned to propose and he didn’t want to miss that, despite the overwhelming threat of an large-crowd-induced anxiety attacks.

He’d gone with a simple gay outfit, black shorts, ratty converse, flannel around his waist, rainbow suspenders and a tank top Shiro had gotten him especially (that said Too Gay For This World)

At first Keith had refused to wear it (he secretly adores this top and Shiro Knows)

He has his own YouTube channel which isn't isn’t nearly as popular as Lance’s - but he has a solid fanbase

His user is CryptidKeith and his channel is called The Keith-Files - Conspiracy Theories

His fans are called his Cryptids and he is continuously referred to as “The Wild Keef” due to a comment Pidge once made in one of their Conspiracy collabs

Of course Hunk and Pidge have done many collabs and when its mentioned that most going are YouTubers they decide to meet up and introduce their friendship groups - Lance decides to vlog it all as he is anyway - First Pride.
