Summary: fans saw the video of cal singing ghost of you and people think you two broke up.

a/n: SO YALL KNOW WHICH VIDEO I'M TALKING ABOUT RIGHT? Idk if he was actually crying, but a part of me tells me he was, but idk who knows, but i hope he was okay and is doing okay now.

You were currently home watching duke at yours and cal’s place. You couldn't go on tour with cal because of work, so being alone was a norm you had grown into. Whenever you didn't go on tour you and cal would spend time calling one another whenever a show was over, so he could see you and if you needed to comfort him for anything. He hated when he had to leave you alone, but you would reassure him you had someone that was a part of him. Duke would usually stay with the dog sitter, but when you stayed back home you watched duke. You two would have some quality time together as usual so the small pup can use his energy throughout the day.

For Cal though today, just wasn't his day. Their bus tour had taken a re-route, they got to the venue late, he couldn't focus during rehearsal since it was cut short, from them arriving late. Usually when stress came he was able to handle it well, but you usually were there to comfort him right there and then, which also added to his stress as well, not being able to be with you in moments like these. Fans in the audience and online had seen his expression and worried for him, especially when singing Ghost of you. He hated that his stress would reflect how he acts during shows, but today was really bad for him. Cal doesn't really notice when fans are recording, but a video had gone viral during the concert within minutes and fans skepulating about you and cal. You had no idea of this hence you not being near your phone all day and having a nice day out with duke. Your phone had been blasting all night and once you got home with duke you checked it once seeing all the notifications on all of your socials.You were slightly confused as to why there were so many so you checked it out.

“What the hell?” you said as the puppy barked at you as you continued to look for something that gave you some sort of idea that was going on. Then MTV also made a topic off of it.

You were quick to find the resources they were using to claim these speculations and there was a video of cal singing ghost of you, at first it was all good, he was singing good, you saw no sad emotions, but when it got to him harmonizing, with the ghost of you, that's when his expression changed. At first you thought that it was just the way he was singing. But you looked over and yeah you were convinced he was crying.

You tried to first go over anything you might have said to make him upset, but there was nothing, you texted when you could and he seemed fine the night before, so you didn't know what was wrong. Unless he lied to you, which he would do when he was away from you. He didn't want to bother you, but you always told him to talk to you when he was feeling down and not himself. You were always going to be there to talk to him always. Just then you got a call from mali, you were quick to answer as she probably has seen these as well.

“Mali, hey.” you said as she spoke, “hey super weried, but have you been on your socials and possibly MTV?” she asked as you sighed, “yes i have.” you said as she contuned, “okay, is it ture?? Did you two break up? Omg did cal do something because i swear-” she said as you giggled and cut her off, “no we didn't, well at least i think so, but uh, no i called him before this show and he seemed fine, but you know how he is, he doesn't tell the full truth until you get it out of him.” you said as she hummed, “thats true, well are you talking to him tonight?” she asked as you hummed back, “yeah i should be getting a call in about an hour, i dont think he has checked his phone yet, so i'll call you first thing alright?” you said as she hummed and you two said your goodbyes. As your phone was still blowing up, more and more rumours were being made, but you didn't expect to be getting attacked.

You were at first confused as to what pictures you were talking about, but then you clearly remember you were with the dog sitter, who happens to be a guy. He was one of Cal's best friends and he always took care of duke when you were away. You were there before cal had gone to tour, to tell him personally that you were staying with duke, since you knew him and it would be nice to catch up on duke’s behavior. Of course the fans didn't know that, but that didn't mean they should attack you. You were kinda stressed about this situation, especially with the things being said, fans even started to question your real intentions with cal and wondered if you were just after cal for his money and fame questioning your line of work as well, which wasnt public because you line of work was importnatn, you were a visual editor at entertainment company and well you kept it private and you didn't want any problems.

On cal’s side of things, he hadnt checked his phone at all wanting to handle one side of stress at a time. After teh show he realxed before calling you, making sure he looked good and fine. But once he lifted his phone he had seen so many notifications, at first he thought it was about the show from tonight but when he clicked he saw everything that was being said about you and him that you two had broken up and the means things being said about you. He was quick to call you as you answered quickly hoping he was okay.

“Hey” you both said quite rapidly, “sorry you go first.” cal said as you sighed and spoke, “are you okay? But i want to know the full truth cal, you know you can talk to me.” you said as he rubebd his head and wished he had spoken to you before anything, he knew if he talked to you hten these rumours wouldnt be made. “Fuck love, im sorry, we had to reroute the show for tonight we got there late, and rehearsal was rushed and, today i didn't do my best to hide my stressed emotions, i tried, but i couldnt, all i wnated to do was talk to you before the show, but i wasnt able to,” he said as his voice was cracking and you felt bad for him, you knew he handled stress well, but you knew today was one of those days, “bub its okay, just talk to me about this kind of stress to help you when you can, no matter what time it may be. I know im not htere, but remeber im a phone call away, always. No matter waht okay, you call me when youre feeling like this.” you said as he smiled a little missing you so much more than he should be able to.

“Youre too good for me you know that? Im sorry for waht the fans are saying, i'll straighten it out babe, they shouldnt be saying this stuff about you,” he said as you giggled, “its fine, it hurt at first, but i mean this all happend beucase i was out with dukes dogsitter,” you said as he laughed a little, “gosh the fans are really out of hand, i love you so much, youre there for me more than many times i could even count, you know youre it for me,” he said as you blushed hearing his words, he would tell you this all the time. It was true, you were it for him and he was it for you. “And youre it for me too, and i'll happily be there for you, always you know that.” you said as he smiled and jsut couldnt wait to get home to you. After talking for about 2 hours, you said your goodbyes and you had gone with the rest of your day as cal had straighten out with the fans about his citation.

So like, All the side characters are back now I guess? (Also I totally forgot that Artemis went to visit Hermes - how many chapters ago was that even?)

Did... Thanatos and Daphne get together / move in together off screen?? Why is there random narration all of a sudden when LO has Never had it before? (At least that I can remember) - and who's narrating?? Why does one of the side characters need to die? Am I supposed to be invested after RS ignored them for like 20 chapters? (At least its a break from the super slow burn of HxP)

Is this going to effect the overarching plot at all? Do you think RS is gonna try and flip the myths again? (Eros + Psyche, Echo + Narcissus, Apollo + Daphne, etc. Thanatos?)

Also, yeah whats been going on with Hera since she had that Kronos premonition? Why does Daphne sound so happy / smug about Demeters probable heart attack when she eventually finds out about Persephone being in the underworld with Hades? (Whenever RS gets to that).

And what happened to Zeus being all pissy with Persephone and the Trial?

Why are there so many unconnected plot threads? I cant keep up with them all! (It also doesn't help that RS just expects readers to remember all this info after ignoring it - like Artemis going to visit Hermes).

3. If we're being completely blunt and honest here... There's no happy ending for LO. Even if RS ends it on LO Hades and Persephone being "happily" married, you can tell by his past actions that LO Hades will just keep "switching out" for "newer models", so to speak. He'll keep getting mistresses. He'll keep financially manipulating women until they get away from him (one way or another).

4. ok but as a character designer? red and pink are KNOWN CLASHERS. there's a reason ariel's marketing is all in a green/teal/purple gown now instead of the pink one she wears in the movie. pink + red, especially a very saturated, blue-undertoned pink like persephone is, are a HUGE ARTISTIC NO-NO. she needs to get a refund from whatever color theory teacher she had because they l i e d to her.

5. ok but. how cool would it have been if it was trans persephone, and kore was her stand-in (similar to a deadname, but not quite the same) until she decided on her official new name, persephone? if smythe wanted a name-change so bad she could have done so much cooler, better stuff. mtf persephone would make 'becoming a queen/princess' SO much more significant. girl you were already an heiress to begin with stfu.

11. So you guys know that famous statue "the rape of Persephone"? I think RS took it a little too literally. While the title states 'rape' its more of an allusion to kidnapping than anything else.

Or perhaps it's titled like that to draw a comparison between the violation of Persephone's personhood, her identity and her lack of agency in the situation.

I mean, when people hear the name Persephone they tend to think of Hades wife and the story of how she was kidnapped against her will.

I think perhaps RS saw the statue and confused rape with kidnapping - or decided to conflate the two. She wanted persephone to be kidnapped And raped (for plot reasons), and thus, further stripped away Persephone's agency regarding the situation (because in some versions of the myth after Persephone is kidnapped she finds she is actually ok with the underworld so long as Hades treats her with respect - which he does).

But because RS wants Hades to be the MVP she decided (for some reason) the villify Apollo (who yes, Demeter mythologically does have beef with, but Not for that reason).

Alright hold on a moment - in some versions of the myth Persephone Did wander down to the underworld by herself (because, if I recall, she heard the sorrow filled voices of the dead and wanted to help them) - and in some versions of the myth Hades isnt even present - its just Persephone ruling the underworld by herself like the badass queen she is.

Also, yes - Demeter was a loving mother who grieved for her daughter and she had every right too - but I wouldn't say Persephones kidnapping was entirely Hades' fault (as the comic points out Zeus "gifted" Persephone to Hades *real Dad of the year there*).

Also also in some versions of the myth of the Kidnapping of Persephone - Hades is noted as a pretty mild mannered God - he is respectful of Persephone and seems to love her (and yes, depending on the myth Persephone either ate the pomegranate seeds on purpose or because Hades tricked her) - there are many different variations of the myth. There isnt really a "agreed upon narrative" by everyone - as far as I know.

I think most versions of the story state that neither Hades nor Demeter were pleased with Zeus decision to have Persephone stay 6 months with each of them, but because she ate the pomegranate seeds it was a kind of rule that she had to stay for each seed she ate, hence the 6 months.

If you guys want to get some more broad details of the myth I suggest OSP's "Hades and Persephone" video - which goes a bit more into the canon.

So overall I would say, yes Demeter was a loving mother who grieved her daughter (who was stolen - in most versions) AND Hades was comparatively a decent husband, despite his flaws. Both these statements can coexist - I promise.

random musings on mercury libra, aquarius, and pisces

MERCURY: there is Logos in the universe. Mercury shows HOW we decode the Greater Nous and how we will go about accessing the Greater Nous. shows HOW you absorb the Greater Dialogos of the Universe.

- mercury in libra is VERY understanding of what other people are thinking. they learn in association by others, they use others examples to learn. the sign libra is a professional at mirroring others in general. if someone touches a fire and it hurts, they see that experience of someone else and learns. they use this social intellect to see how OTHERS function, and uses that as their way of understanding. they try their best to lighten the load of others. they are the 'i dont like something, but they do. its not their problem that i dont like it. so thats interesting. why do you like this? hm, im learning. maybe it isnt so bad after all." they are considerate, and so considerate they can lose their honesty. can end up twisting their words to not hurt someone, or can end up being very abstract and even lies and a long story. very abstract thinking, as it is a social air sign (The air signs are adept at abstract thinking.)

 - mercury in pisces and mercury in aquarius are quite similar, for two reasons i like to intuit (and is just theoretical anyway): what i like to call the semi-sextile theory, and the understanding of the actual constellations. the semi-sextile theory is based upon the aspect of 30 degrees (or called semi-sextile), and upon the system of duads. SS-theory: each sign is like a gradient that flows into the other (hence cusps haha), and the S-S aspect is like neighbors in an apartment complex. sharing the same lawn, same building, but different styles of living and different cars and different interiors. but they share qualities! constellations: the constellations of aquarius and pisces overlap each other a considerable amount!  and when both of these placements are in mercury, well, to be honest, they're quite bad with directions or even spatial thinking! 

- mercury in pisces is, at first, very gullible and almost too open to things. doesn't have many boundaries, and is open to the whole universe. absorbs everything even if its contradictory and often leads to confusion. so they are at risk of contradicting themselves often. cognitive dissonance. eventually if its working, they wont care about theories, they are very anecdotal and believing. (similar to mercury in aquarius). natural way of learning is direct experience (similar to mercury in sagittarius and aquarius). a bit of a minimalist. like the aquarius mercury, tendency towards decentralized and abstract thinking. 

- mercury in aquarius, like the pisces, doesn't have many boundaries and accepts the causes of the universe, almost channeling ideas and soaking in everything as a chance to elevate it and seeing it to be its truest form. mercury in aquarius is very unconditional, in the sense that this placement sees things for what they are and is amazing at getting to the bare first principles of things. generally, mercury in aquarius does not like people seeing them come to conclusions nor do they like others watch them work things out. like the mercury in pisces, mercury in aquarius can come off a bit ditsy and airheaded and can even be a chatterbox if you allow them. extremely bubbly people with a unique octave in their voice. tendency to intellectualize first then experience, and skill towards decentralized and excellent at abstract thinking.

General:- all four are all technically a part of the original Link, and therefore, all of them share roughly the same memories from before the split- since Minish is the one who forged and first used the Four Sword, I thought it’d be fun for them(and essentially the original Link too) to look/act a bit like him- the Four Sword was also originally created with the four elements and therefore they each have the potential to unlock elemental magic

The Untamed vs MDZS Anime: Which is better?

Going to japan now. Currently in the plane. The in flight tv is broken. So... ive been watching mdzs on youtube!

Hot damn the animation is beautiful. Every frame is a work of art. How the hell. Its so beautiful. I mean they use 3D a lot for the backgrounds and boats but its still gorgeous and not too jarring. The lighting is so realistic, scenery too. All the fighting choreography is beautiful. The way the swords swing in the air looks so fluid, and when swords clash its in flashes of light the color of their sword. Such a tasteful yet stylistic choice. Everyone's, esp wwx, hair is so flowy, so detailed every strand sways in the wind. The waves reflect light and move smoothly. How the hell did they do that. How. I was thinking of doing those screencap redraw thingy with the scene when wwx whacks lwj's boat. (they also emphasised how far lwj's boat was sinking into the water, which makes it more convincing how wwx can deduce that theres something underneath vs the live action where lwj's boat looked normal..) it was damn beautiful. The thing is, the point of these redraws is that the animation looks simple, so the redraw would enhance the scene. But for mdzs, everything is already in peak quality, redrawing it will only look worse. Its like writing fanfiction of books. The original writing is so damn beautiful, fan fiction ends up being such a stark difference that the reader cant help but compare the 2.

Drama, as everyone says, shows better facial expressions due to the live actors, so emotions hit harder. But anime def LOOKs way better in all action scenes. Angles that follow the characters are used to emphasise scale between enemy and chracters, and all the movements feel so dynamic, and i love how when they use talisman spell thingies they got a circle of light in an intricate pattern thats super beautiful. In the drama, its just a piece of paper.

However, i prefer drama's lwj. Maybe cos wyb looks so young, its more believable when he freaks out over the adult book that wwx gives him in the library scene. In the anime, he looks 20+-30+. Its a bit hard to believe that he'd be worried over that. Idk theres a kind of innocence and naivety that leads to the stubborn refusal to express emotion that young lwj is plagued with that we have in the untamed (was this intentional on wyb's part or is it because the teenage lwj wig made his eyes look floaty, so he seems more like a teenager and naive, less experienced as a cultivator vs lwj 13 years later? Dk but it works!). In the anime, he looks like an adult thats calm and level headed already from the get-go. Idk maybe i just havent watched enough (only seen up til the water demons in caiyi town). In both anime and drama, everyone and i mean EVERYONE besides the fricking babies looks the same 13/16 years later. It doesn't feel like time has passed at all. I wish they would have maybe a change in costume, or hairstyle in the anime. The drama at least changes their costumes a little and neatens the hairstyle of jiang cheng and lwj to indicate maturity.

Btw i love that in the anime for the water demons section they had wwx and jc casually chatting (though its a blatant cornetto ad which is fricking weird. How can there be frozen treats back in those days), then wwx beautifully catapulting himself onto a boat and rowing away showing the unique and romantic af mode of transport in caiyi town, then smoothly transitioning to the lan bros on the bridge right above them with lwj asking why lxc decided to bring them along. Its just tying together so many scenes, quickening the plot along and yet doing it so naturally and seamlessly compared with the novel and drama.

Though i like that the drama involved wn and wq and have wwx save wn, and makes way more sense why wn would want to risk his life to help wwx recover his parents fricking corpse illegally right under the nose of wen chao and wen zhuliu.

The anime removed the entire mystery plot of a yan and the fairy goddess statue and thats honestly the best best best choice to make. In the drama, it was one of the worse sections ever cos i didnt understand who all these random ass characters were (it was one of the first mysteries in the drama) and yet it didnt go into detail like they did in the novel, so not only did i not know what was going on, i also didnt give a single shit about the characters. When i saw that they completely did away with the random passer bys who screwed around with the fairy statue, i was thoroughly impressed.

I liked that the drama let nhs have his own trouble making moments tho, like having him sneak a live bird into class. It makes it more convincing that wwx would be friends with him because they both have a mischievous side that they can both appreciate in each other. In the anime, nhs just looks like a loser nerd thats weak in swordplay and does wwx's homework for him, without a will of his own. It doesnt make sense why wwx would keep him around. Then again, maybe itll make the reveal that nhs is a conniving mastermind more impactful for the anime, oh well only time will tell.

I liked that lxc and lwj look similar in the anime. Its more convincing when people call them the twin jades of the lan clan. In the drama, they hardly looked like brothers. Lxc looks more like lwj's mentor or teacher rather than an older brother. In the anime, they look more siblingy.

I miss drama wen ning. I rmb when he looked so fierce and terrifying in his first appearance. I was legit intimidated. Oh how hes changed! Hes so fluffy now. In the anime hes equally menacing. His fight scene with the statue goddess was so beautiful. Doesnt it take a long time to animate the chains moving so fluidly yet dynamically yet somehow looks like it can disintegrate rock in an instant? The lighting on it too, how it reflected the fire of the forest around them. Have i mentioned how beautiful having that fight scene at night was? It was dark and ominous looking, yet the fire cast an epic looking light over the scene with warm orange glows. And the animators had that fiery light reflected in anything they could find: eyes, chains, swords.

Ooh but jiang cheng's whip looked prettier in the drama than in the anime, which is kind of weird given they were both cgi-ed. Somehow the lighting of the whip in the drama was brighter, looked more like real lightning vs the whip in the anime looking a little dull, like they colored it then added a gray filter. This is kinda bizarre given the laughably bad effects of the effects for everything else in the drama. Visuals for non human things is not the drama's strong suit, so it makes u wonder what happened for the anime whip. Maybe in the dark, the lightning would have to look hella bright and reflect on the surroundings (tedious to color) more so than in the day, hence why it looked worse in anime vs drama. Oh well.

As for lan sizhui, its weird that his voice is so deep in the anime (and audio drama!). Ive always seen him as a kiddo thanks to the live action, so hearing him sound mature is kinda off-putting. He sounds like a leader, and gives off lwj vibes vs in the live action where he gives a goody two shoes studious nerd vibe, whos just trying his best. Maybe this is better, he feels way more like a lwj-raised child(serious and business-like) which makes more sense. Live action lsz feels like a wwx(optimistic and intelligent) AND lwj(well-behaved and sensible)-raised child. Anime lsz looks like hes got his shit together. Jinling is fairly similar in both, maybe less prideful in the anime (in live action theres the scene where im pretty sure he indirectly kills one of his men by wishing for the fairy goddess statue to come to life. That was a hella asshole move. This was omitted in the anime.) Jingyi in the anime somehow looks snarkier. Maybe cos he straight up duels with jinling and kicks him down a dark cave. Ive been wondering why all the tumblr posts depict ljy as this sassy ass short tempered kid when he was quite tame (though sassy by lan standards) in the live action. Now i know.

The costumes for the drama is better, more detailed though thats expected i guess. I just love that they have little white gusu lan clan uniforms that wwx jc and friendos are required to wear. Its so cute and such a cool detail. In anime, theyre all in their usual garb, and they just look like random people who decided to turn up at lan qirens class. In the drama, it looks more like a school that they have to attend for half a year and it feels characteristic that gusu lan clan would require their students to have a uniform, given their incredibly strict regime type. It also serves to separate the happy carefree school days from all the other tragic af events in wwx's life. His costume starts out white showing innocence and purity of his naiive teenage years who had yet to experience hardship and still feels invincible as a youth. After school, he wears dark blue, as he goes on an adventure with lanzhan and experience how important the yin iron is (gives up the joking light hearted nature as a teenager by realizing the gravity of situation if the wen clan gets their hands on it) and maybe that hes not truly part of the jiang clan who wears purple. Then his costume eventually becomes black as he experiences his first life and death situation that he isnt sure he can handle. That child like assurance that "oh the seniors will let me off" or "im sure jiang fengmian will come to my rescue" gets demolished when he undergoes cruel indoctrination at the wen clans. This visual development may be a bit on the nose, but personally i love subtle representations.

Overall, the anime does do a better of job of explaining the world's mechanics, which is quite important. The drama is quite faithful to the book, at times even more so than the anime, so it irks me that this is the one thing they decide to skim on. The god damn premise, the first thing the audience needs: why the hell is wwx alive again and what is mo xuanyu doing?? I guess the drama thought that it explains itself but it doesnt really. It was really confusing. The anime, though somehow faster than the drama, still has the time to properly explain mxy. A technique ive noticed is that they do exposition during the fight scenes, which is so ingenius. Its visually appealing, as always, so its not boring, the viewers gets to understand whats going on AND it gives the sense that the characters are so skilled that they carry causal conversations while fighting supposedly weak enemies like zombies and water ghosts, which is accurate seeing how wwx and lwj and friends are supposed to be one of the most powerful cultivators.

thigns about characterization and basically ranting about my own skills, dont click read more if you dont want to see someone be bitchy about their own writing. some of it is just me ham-fisting my intended interpretations onto the chapter i JUST released so if you didnt like hs^2 being hamfisty (i certainly didnt) please dont look at this, i hide in shame.

i could have done chapter 6 of FIIG better honestly. it was written over the course of about multiple months. each month i had to do things in between and i got stumped every other paragraph. it wasn’t the most fun to write, actually it was barely fun AT ALL, and mainly that’s because i hadn’t paid very much attention to the three featured in that chapter (the three being equius, tavros, and nepeta). all three of them were very much varying degrees i think of just playing telephone with the mspa wiki. there are also MULTIPLE parts of earlier chapters i would like to change, minor details admittedly, but also I DO GENUINELY WANT TO REDO CHAPTER 2 SPECIFICALLY. 

i guess i should lay out my writing process for context. first i usually pull up the mspa wiki pages of the characters involved, then immediately scroll down to “personality” and then select pesterlogs talking with the characters they will most likely be talking with in the chapter itself, so i get a sense of how they play off of each other. all of them talk to each other in different ways, so i cant base karkats interactions with kanaya for his interactions with, for example, eridan. but i get how that isnt, going to give the best result. anyway, going forward with that, i usually try to think of cultural analogs for them. in this case, chapter 6, equius being overly concerned with the hemospectrum translated to him being overly nationalistic, which i KNOW isnt that great of an analog but, it works.

jumping off of that, nepeta is easier to write, as some of her mannerisms in the chapter are based off of my own. for me, she came off as enthusiastic and cat-like, obviously, while reading. with her being aged-down she’s basically a gigantic ball of sunshine who could potentially scorch you. personal experience, 7th graders are mean. tavros, honestly, i don’t know him that well. i need to work on my characterization for him and read up more and i definitely am not satisfied at all with how i did him.

which leads me on to the overall quality of the writing. i dont like it. at all. i cant read it again without banging my entire being against the wall in penance.  before you ask “why did you even write it in the first place” its because i wanted to expand yknow? its a davekat fanfic yes, but i wanted to try and do these characters justice. theyre characters first, ships second. semi-spoiler i guess but i’m trying to emulate teleseryes or telenovelas here, hence the title of the fic in the first place. i wanted to try and deconstruct and reconstruct the tropes used in them and make them ACTUALLY palatable. this was meant to slot in the pacing as basically the filler episode with the side characters. but i feel like thats a miserable failure in that part.

hopefully next chapter will be better, and that the thing i inserted at the end will turn out well when i execute it

she cried bc she had to sit in between the “weird” and “dirty” girls in our class and she headass cried in front of them and everyone just bc she didnt like the arrangement?? shes called the “dirty” girl disgusting before and has made fun of her in front of everybody its just bad :-/

all alone just started playng this is terrible lets get it

so day6. a band i only found out about in late june (thank u boxy) and before this i only ever listened to bts and mx bc my friends stan them so i thought i was gonna expect boys dancing, the usual. 

i clicked i smile and i lost my fucking shit as soon as i saw the instruments because prior to day6 i was a big 5sos fan so this was rly resonating to me tbh and i was just !!! so fukcng excited??? i never intended to even get into day6 honestly??? but after witnessing how good they are and watching about all of the available mvs at that point i was completely in awe so i caved a created a stan twitter for them.

now, this isnt even the most of it. after becoming a fan i realized how much more these 5 boys are. they compose (if im not wrong) and brian writes lyrics for the songs each month because of their everyday6 project and again, im wow-ed because??? the amount of dedication???? they went from releasing 2 title tracks in 2 years to releasing 12 title tracks and 12 bside tracks in a single year. they havent released the december song yet but haviing to work on 2 or more songs in 4 weeks is fucking amazing if you ask me. 

theyre really talented and theyre just so versatile (am i using that word correctly) and each month their songs sound different. this project has given them the opportunity to try new things and you can hear the steady improvement in each of their vocals (dowoonie not so much since he barely gets lines, but we all know hes working hard) and if you listen to their debut song - kongchu and compare it to the version they released along with sunrise it just???? the drumming has even changed from the original version nd its so noticeable that whenever i hear kongchu from 2015 i know its the old ver

to add to those, they do vlives every week and although those vlives are always scheduled it still makes my day seeing them and watching them do the usual. 

one thing im upset about is that how they barely promote themselves, they rarely get on variety shows (the most is individual schedules) and we, as mydays never really get to know the boys so its harder to fall for them as a whole. i dont know if its jyp or day6′s decision but if this is how they want to be known for - their music only, then so be it. we still have jae’s presence on youtube, music access and asc. thats the most we can get and it makes it difficult for us to learn about the rest but thats okay.

another thing. their concerts are something i always look forward to (even though my interest has died down a bit;) their concerts are just so fun to listen to?? there’ll always be mydays who stream the concert so everyone else can listen to them play and they sound so good live it drives me crazy. mydays are always so hyped and whenever mydays sing along it just gives me goosebumps??? bc theyre so???? good????? 

tldr; day6 deserve more, following wise and promotions wise because they work so hard and once this project ends i hope they’ll manage to rest but still remain as a presence that will be known instead of returning to jyp’s dungeon.

Any animal is a bit wary of new things, thats where curiosity comes in, she is slightly wary of a new object but she is also curious of it hence her following it with her head. This doesn't mean that she's protective, just unsure of something probably for her own safety and not her baby's safety.

I never lied. I go out hiking and driving all the time in the countryside where I am, mostly driving now due to the pandemic, even on the way to my stables and small holding I see fields of cows with babies that are a few months old, yes male babies will be taken away but I also see fields and paddocks with groups of bullocks in. I see more calves outside in fields with their parents than I do in hutches. The number of male calves that are killed immediately is reducing and isnt a large number in comparison.

I have no issues with animals dying, only the quality of life they have beforehand and the methods of killing the animals. Everything dies eventually, its the one factor that unifies all living organisms - plants die, mammals die, fungi die, insects die, reptiles die, fish die, cells die. The methods of killing the animals isnt respectful or personal, this is a problem with society as a whole since they stopped viewing animal products as something that used to be alive. These are my personal spiritual beliefs but if you kill an animal you have to use its body in some way to thank them for the life you took from them. Animal death is not the issue, the large scale factory farming and the impact that has on the environment is the problem. Its why in wildlife conservation, the aim is not to stop animals from dying but to give species the best chance at survival. However the general public often don't realise that and want to conserve a species cause its cute like the giant panda, the only benefit that comes from keeping them around as a species is that the money for keeping their species going gets put into protecting their natural habitat helps keep other animal populations sustainable. This is why animal farms in the uk have benefits as the land used for animals helps conserve many native species and the hedgerows provide wildlife corridors and a food source and a habitat for lots of species.

Let’s talk about earthling ed and his lack of knowledge when it comes to animals, specifically their behaviour.

In his tik tok farmers video he says this mother is clearly defending her calf from the farmer by using her head to put distance between her and the farmer. Which is wrong.

A common argument ive seen for this video is that the cow is exhausted from giving birth. Expierenced cows will be up in a few minutes after giving birth and judging from , heifers like the one in the video may take longer but they do get up eventually and even if she was exhausted from giving birth if she truly perceived the farmer as a threat she would be up on her feet immediately.

The ‘using her head to put space between them argument’ isn’t correct either. If a cow feels threatened they bring their heads down to show their horns/top of their head in a display of aggression. They may also swing their head from side to side or bob it up and down. The heifer in this video doesn’t, she reaches her nose up and towards the phone where she gives it a sniff and he gives her a boop. This isnt protective or aggressive behaviour she is merely being inquisitive.

And since @severelynerdysheep said that there are clearly many other indicators in the video lets go through them.

When cows get irritated they wag their tails and swish it from side to side, she isnt doing that in the video.

Cows will also become vocal if they feel the need to protect their baby as they want to call the baby to them and keep them there, she doesn’t make a peep in the video.

Trying to confront a mother when she’s being protective over her calf will lead to her trying to charge at you or doing bluff charges. She doesn’t even attempt to get up in the video.

Cows will also put themselves in between the threat and their baby , this means covering their baby with as much as their body as possible. She doesn’t do this either, all she does is lean over and give the camera a sniff and follow it as it moves , if she were protecting her baby her head would be down and much closer to the calf than it is in the video.

I dont know what indicators of a strong bond between mother and baby , earthling ed saw because there is no trace of them in this video other than the calf’s fur sticking up slightly probably due to being cleaned by the mother, but earthling ed doesn’t mention that. Here are some videos of mothers very clearly defending their calves.

Don't apologize about DEH. There are obviously scores of theatre professionals who see the musical's merit, hence why it won last night. I like Great Comet, but it's not as groundbreaking as its fans are pretending. It's an adaptation of War and Peace, for god's sake. I'm sort of shocked by the vitriol being directed at DEH, but it's a complex and incredible show. Is the plot of DEH difficult to digest? Does Evan make mistakes? Sure, but that's what makes the show real.

hi! sorry if i didnt make sense, i simply meant its a shame that the show’s popularity led to many of the other musicals being overlooked. 

i adore all of the musicals nominated ( i mean, i’m not as familiar with hello dolly) and each of them is beautiful, but i think its fair to say that deh is the easiest for people to consume- its familiar pop music (not necessarily a bad thing!) with an emotional plot, which is part of why i think it became such a mainstream success. 

addressing your point on why it won best musical: as much as i love evan hansen, in comparison to tgc…im not sure it was the obvious choice. 

unfortunately, the tonys isnt entirely based on quality. its very much a public advert for all of broadway, promoting shows and stars. here is a post that sums that up quite well. (of course, i’m still incredibly happy and proud of the deh cast and team, i know they all worked incredibly hard, and i love what theyre doing.)

whilst i agree with you about the importance dear evan hansen, the great comet was much much more than just an adaptation of war and peace. the music is so incredibly different to what you normally find on broadway, its so rich and textured with a mix of different genres. the set is immersive, the story is so capturing, theres a very diverse cast, and denee benton is an absolute princess. 

anyways i think the biggest point i wanna make is that theres really no point shitting on deh for winning because its a beautiful piece of art, but we shouldnt be ignoring the great comet and should give it the appreciation it deserves because its a beautiful piece of art.

The Not-So-Bitter Sam Girl

Let me first establish that I love Sam Winchester with everything in me. I eat, sleep, drink,and dream Sam Winchester. Often times, like many Sam girls, I feel like he is treated unfairly, and that makes me bitter, but I read a lot of the meta from other Sam girls, but I don’t agree with a lot of what you all are bitter about. Let me also say, that I love Dean too. The brother’s relationship is the only reason I am addicted to this show. I couldn't care less about the monsters and most side characters to be honest, but I definitely favor Sam. I have only been watching the show, via Netflix, for just under a year, but I am a CHRONIC re-watcher. There isn’t an episode or season I havent watched at least 15 times, and some more than 40 times (yes its a sickness) the only episodes I dont watch much are Bitten and Bloodlines.  I will try to explain my view on some of the most common things I see bitter Sam girls write about, and hopefully give a new perspective. WARNING: This is indeed long, you may scroll through and read topics of interest, and feel free to send me an ask or a message about anything you would like to debate or discuss further :)

Dean gets more air time! From my point of view, I will agree this is the case, but not throughout the whole series. A prime example is the S4 episode In The Beginning, when Sam is only in the first 45 seconds of the episode. I dont consider this the show favoring Dean, but the knowledge that it was in a time when no one was sure if Jared could continue do to his mental health. He had a breakdown during the filming of Mystery Spot, and things were rocky for a while. I don’t know what was going on during the time of In The Beginning, but it’s quite possible that Jared needed time off. Granted there are no episodes were Dean is only in 45 seconds of, but they probably don’t like do episodes that the boys dont share time, after all, the show is about them both.  The Panic Room! Yes, definitely the panic room! It might be the first time I felt my bitter Sam girl come out. How DARE they lock him in a room to detox alone??? It tore my heart out! But on one hand, it was an extremely Sam heavy episode. We got to see inside his head through his hallucinations, which up till then, we’d only see glimpses. It was hard for me to piece together what exactly was going on with Sam in S4 until this episode. It was confusing. On one hand he had been his normal, cute, nerdy, sensitive self, but hiding his baddass, sexy, dark side. Up till then i thought he just didn’t want Dean to be angry with him for what he was doing, but then I realized, he was genuinely addicted to the demon blood, and didn’t want Dean to know because he’d want him (make him) stop, and he also feared Dean would hate him like a monster. He felt like he disappointed everyone he loved, even himself, and coming off felt like torture. (hence the Alistair hallucination) So story wise, we needed for him to be alone this time so WE the viewers would see what all he felt, which he may not have, if Dean sat with him to comfort him. And having dealt with addicted people personally, I know that sometimes, an addict will use their addiction for the sole purpose of having someone sit and suffer with them, which sometimes makes the addiction worse. However, the second time Sam was left to suffer alone in the panic room was 100% uncalled for (S5 My Bloody Valentine) If the writers wanted to show how bad Sam’s problem was affecting Dean, which Im sure it was... he could have prayed that prayer while holding Sam through the detox, and it would have been 1000 times more powerful. So this one, I am bitter as well.  Soulless Sam wasn’t that bad!! No, he wasn’t. I actually really enjoyed him! He was definitely hornier than our normal Sam, less inhibited,  snarkier, funnier, but still, not quite Sam. Why would Dean be so freaked out? Well, we’ll overlook Sam allowing him to be turned by the vamps, because Dean felt creeped out before then. So consider the fact that dozens of years, Sam and Dean were glued to each others hips for the most part. Especially when John left them alone as children, and since Sam was back from Stanford, and now, he was back from Hell, no one knew how, and not his normal self at all. Dean, being Sam’s soulmate, knew something was wrong, and at first was scared that maybe it was still Lucifer in Sam’s vessel. That to me, sounds like it could be scary. Think just for a moment, if the person you love the most, that you thought was dead, is suddenly back but not anything like they used to be. This would be terrible, especially if you thought there was a good chance they were actually Satan wearing their body.  Once Dean knew it was actually Sam, but without a soul, he could have lightened up a bit. Yes, I think so too, BUT Sam was still not anything like what Dean loved about his brother. Sam didnt love him back, didnt even care about him, he was Sam otherwise, but i dont blame Dean for wanting to get Sam’s soul back, especially with the knowledge that he could be fine, so long as he doesn’t regain the memories. And even if he did, there’s a good chance he could fix him.  Dean did act irrationally, wont argue, but we know they are both irrationally co dependent on each other, and if the tables were turned, Sam would have done something equally irrational to get Dean back. (As we see in About a Boy when Sam wasnt in favor of Dean being 14 so that the Mark was gone. He’d be willing to take Dean back, Mark included, so long as Dean was the Dean he knew and loved today) The narrative is heavily in Dean’s Favor! No, I dont think so. Occasionally yes, but for the most part no. When bitter Sam girls see Dean scolding or berating Sam for being wrong about something, most of the time Sam isn’t wrong about the thing. We see it, and most people see it, so the narrative makes Dean look like a douche. Yes, there are Dean girls that throw Sam hate all the time, but they’re not the majority. They’re just loud on Tumblr. Honestly, in real life, Dean girls, just like Dean’s looks, or personality better than Sam’s and thats simply taste. Tall, long haired, sweet, intelligent, badass, nerds arent everyone’s favorite flavor (dont know how that’s possible but....) thats fine, but ive yet to come across a real life Sam hater.  Theres some on tumblr and occasionally some might give Jared grief at a conference, but again, thats not the majority. And I see bitter Sam girls also throw the same hate Dean’s way too. But anyway, getting off point. Dean has always been “its not what you do but who you are” and Sam has always been “its not who you are but what you do” from early on. And we all know Sam’s view is better. Sam is always willing to talk, and give people/monsters a chance to choose good. Dean has only recently agreed to go that route too, but will still think “monster” first and then bend Sam’s direction. killing Sam’s friend Amy in S7 just because she was a monster, was a huge douche move on Dean’s part and everyone thought so Im sure. It was also the last time Dean killed someone for just that reason. Sam’s view of situations like that have always been to give the monster the benefit of the doubt if they wanted to be good, from the beginning, so that narrative has always been in Sam’s favor.  Dean was mad that Sam’s happy memories didn’t include him!! Not true. Dean may have been disappointed that Sam’s happy Thanksgiving memory was at someone elses house, but after that, Sam’s best memories were Deans worst. That’s what upset him. Not that Dean wasnt in them, but they were terrible times for him. When Sam was alone in Flagstaff with his dog, Dean was home worried sick that Sam was dead because he ran off while he was watching him. “And when Dad got home....” Dean probably got his ass beat. When Sam went off to Stanford, Dean says it was one of the worst nights of his life. Zachariah was manipulating their memories so it could appear they were happier without each other. Sam didnt get to see the part when he and Dean shot off the fireworks, only the part of Dean’s life when he was happy with Mom. I am sure that if they got to explore more of their heaven, they would have found plenty of memories that were just those two.  The writers feminize Sam and make him the Damsel in Distress!! Lord, I have seen HUGE meta on this and I disagree with so much. The male/female formula when there are two protagonists is a common formula to use. This is true, but it is not the only formula to use and its not always Sam that is feminized. Other formulas are the classic comedic/tragic, the big one/the small one, the smart one/the dumb one, light/dark, good cop/ bad cop and so on. The brother have fallen into all these formulas at different times. Sam has a few feminine qualities, it’s true, he cries sometimes and he’s generally nicer than Dean, he has long hair, compassionate and empathetic, he isnt as “butch” as Dean and is conscious of his diet. Dean also has feminine qualities, he cooks, cleans, and irons their clothes. He is very much a nurturer, not only to Sam but to Kevin, Garth and Charlie as well. Dean is much more physical than Sam is. Dean is usually the one initiating the bro hugs, and its not likely that the “Dean is bisexual” thing, would be a thing, if he initiated as many manhugs as Sam has. He cries more than Sam does, he admitted to have enjoyed wearing women’s underwear, loves chick flicks, and said “All women lie about their age” and Sam said “Wait, you told our waitress you’re 29″ and Dean said “Yes”. Often times Sam and Dean are paralleled with married couples, but not always, sometimes its siblings, sometimes best friends, sometimes Rocky and Bullwinkle LOL... but not always male/female, in fact, in the parallel of John and Mary Winchester, Sam is John and Dean is mom. Sam was named after their grandfather, and Dean after their grandmother.

Also, Sam is NOT a Damsel in Distress! My friend went through S1 thru 11 and counted how many times each saved the other, and Dean only beats Sam by 3 saves. Ahead by 3 out of 240 (some episodes have more than one salvation scene, some have none or they save each other) episodes is well within the margin of error and it means neither one is a damsel in distress. HOWEVER Tumblr makes Sam overly feminine! But that’s a whole other rant.  Season 8 was a horror fest of Sam hate! Omg is so was NOT! i felt there was more love from Dean towards Sam than any season before it. This season was an emotional roller coaster between the boys, its by far one of my favorite seasons (5 and 11 are my other faves) but i think all the meta written about being a Carver catastrophe and trying to explain WHY it wasnt OOC for Sam to not look for Dean, made some of you not watch the season, or at least, not all of the season, or watched it after reading the meta and thus missed the whole point. However I will agree, like even Jared did, that Sam not looking for Dean definitely was OOC for Sam, especially only knowing what we knew in the beginning. Sam went right away to the promise the boys made not to look for each other, even though he knew Dean looked for him when he went to Hell. It was very OOC for Sam to at least try to make sure Dean was dead first, he had no idea where he was, there was no blood or body, just black goo. Take into consideration that 1) It has been said that S8 was going a different route, but the producers decided to change it, so it’s likely there was more to that story than we actually got. 2) it was the beginning of the season and neither we, nor Jared knew that Sam would later say “I lost my brother a few months back, and my world imploded and everything rained down on me, and i ran” None of us knew that before hand, and Dean was never even told. All he was really told was that Sam was alone, and didnt know what to do so he fixed up the Impala, and just drove. Took time to enjoy the good things, and get a dog and a girlfriend and a home in Texas. Will I will agree that Dean didnt have the right to berate Sam, but he had every right to be hurt and feel betrayed. Sam later turned the table and berated Dean for having Benny. Again, Sam had the right to feel hurt and betrayed, but had no right to berate him, but since they both griefed each other about how they spent the last year, Ill call them both even. This fight that was nothing less than watching a married couple fighting over each other cheating, but once Sam decides to stay with Dean, and Dean cuts ties with Benny, the boys relationship is beautiful again. I say there was so much love shown even in their fighting because we learned part of the depth in which they love each other. Not unlike a married couple.” Don’t ever let someone be more important than me” And though I know, at the end of S8 when Sam was reminded of his “failure” by Dean, Sam was ready to die, but in the middle when the trails are about to start, Dean recalls what kind of life Sam wanted, and was ready to die so Sam could have it. Watch Trial and Error, I think its a great place to see where the boy’s heads are at, at that point in the season.  Dean had no right to trick Sam into letting Gadreel possess him! Absolutely true, he had no right to do that, but Dean knew it too. He knew Sam would never agree to such a thing, and he would rather die. But Dean JUST saved his life back at the church, despite that good that would come of if it Sam finished the trials. This didnt matter to Dean anymore if he didn’t have Sam beside him. It wasn’t like Swan Song... now he KNEW what life without Sam was like and didnt want to do it again. Now he sees that Sam is moments from dying, and has an option... a bad option, but an option. He acted in sheer panic. I cant honestly say I wouldnt do that either. But immediately after, Dean had regrets and fears. Did he make the right call? Was this angel gonna take Sam over or tear him apart? Dean wrestled with this every episode till they finally got Gadreel out. He knew Gadreel taking over and killing Kevin was his own fault and whatever backlash was coming from Sam, he deserved. Now after this I fully understand Sam’s hurt 100% and I think he was even hurt that Dean chose to leave afterwards, but his words at the end of The Purge hurt me for Dean’s sake. Not “Same circumstances, I wouldnt” because of course he wouldnt do the same thing. But telling Dean theres no upside to him being alive, and how Dean tells himself that he does more good than bad, but he doesnt, and “Ill hand it you, you;re willing to do the sacrificing, as long as you’re not the one being hurt” was crushing. Dean has always been hurt in his sacrificing, it was like Sam forgot Dean sacrificing his soul for Sam to live and spending 40 years in hell. So, where I will agree Dean says some crappy things, Sam has been guilty of that too. Both have every right to feel what they feel, but that doesnt give them the right to do or say whatever they want.  Dean always gets friends and Sam doesnt! Now this I think is basically their make up, not a narrative bias. Sam learned in S1, Skin that friends are a liability and having them in their line of work, puts them in danger. Sam is kind and compassionate and the one who talks to the victims and witnesses with care so they trust him, but he doesnt try to pull them closer, to be friends, because he knows its dangerous for them, as he explained to Adam in Jump the Shark. Dean knows this too, but he needs people. He makes friends and tried to have a family outside the job... it never works out, but he still tries. I think Jody is more drawn to Sam, and probably even Rowena, it also looks like Mary is more drawn to Sam,  but Sam is still leary of being close to people. I dont think this has anything to do with the writers wanting us to think Dean is more likable, but to see that the boys need different things. Like Dean has a lot of sex, he needs physical, Sam doesn’t he needs verbal. This is why he has conversations with everyone.  Dean has more dialogue than Sam! He does, often times, I guess if its measured, Dean has probably had more onscreen lines than Sam, but I think they make up for that by giving Sam the bigger story arcs. They give Jared the harder roles to act. Dean’s arcs are almost always the same, he is either more violent, or less violent, whereas Sam has been possessed numerous times, went through addiction and withdrawal, Soullessness, fighting against himself, and acting along side his own different personas, insanity, twice, hallucinations,severe physical illness, loss of loved ones,  sexual assault, and torture, torture, and more torture. He’s been as weak as a child and yet the biggest badass on the show ever. Dont think because Dean says more that Sam doesnt impact the show just as much, if not more. If both shared the same character arcs, it would be monotonous, if Dean didnt have more dialogue than Sam, compared to Sam’s story lines, Dean would look like the antagonist. Oh trust me, I wish every episode was Sam centric, but its not, thats not how the show works, and I have accepted that.  I know I missed many more, but I tried to hit all the ones I see the most meta on. i just want all you Sam girls (Bitter or not) to know that not every Sam girl has gotten as negative of a view as many of you have. Leeds United vs Derby County Tactical Analysis

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United met Frank Lampard’s Derby County for the second time this season. Both teams share similarities with the brand of football they endorse and the amalgam of youth with experience. It wasn’t a surprise to spot Aidy Boothroyd, England U21 head coach seated alongside Gareth Southgate in attendance. Along with the tactical analysis, I attempt to shed light on the psychological and emotional aspects of this game.

A comprehension of this tactical analysis would be incomplete without taking into perspective the circumstances leading up to this fixture. A couple of hours before the fixture, news of a spy caught at Derby’s training the previous day flooded the internet. This spying incident has clearly tarnished Bielsa’s image of an obsessive ‘football Miyagi’ with darker shades.

Tactics: Bielsa’s gamble pays, Lampard’s fails

Leeds usually feature a 4-1-4-1 with a midfield quartet of Jack Harrison, Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Aliosksi. The 18-year-old Jack Clarke replaces Harrison at half-time, with Bielsa claiming both to have varied but necessary attributes. Clarke’s recent impressive performances earned him a spot on the starting 11 for this game. Yet, to retain the quartet playing the intro to Bielsa’s symphony, Bielsa started Alioski as a left-back.

It isn’t unusual for Bielsa to play midfielders in the defensive back line. Javi Martinez at Athletic Bilbao and Arturo Vidal with Chile, and Leeds’ very own Kalvin Phillips are apt examples. Alioski started his career playing left back for BSC Young Boys, so it wasn’t much of a defensive compromise either. But, in return for this gamble, Bielsa could rely on Alioksi’s attacking prowess in offensive build up.

Derby, like Leeds, prefer to build up from the back and create offensive chances. After conceding early on, Lampard replaced his right-back Andre Wisdom with a forward David Nugent. Derby switched to a high-pressing 4-4-2 with midfielder Dwayne Holmes moving to right back to make way for Nugent. As Derby lacked a conventional defender against an attacking duo of Alioksi and Harrison, Leeds immediately capitalised, scoring their second.

The teenager Clarke, a product of Leeds’ youth academy, has been a phenomenal Bielsa discovery. Scoring twice already against Aston Villa and Nottingham forest, Clarke played a substantial role in both the goals Leeds scored.

Clarke’s confidence seems to grow with every touch in a first-team fixture. His biggest strength is his dribbling. But, playing alongside experienced Leeds veterans adds more dimensions to his game.

The Macedonian number 10, Alioski provides a good role model in his position to help Clarke mature as a player. Alioski’s ability to be present where he can impact the game most, and occasionally ruffle opponent’s feathers to break their composure are tricks Clarke would need to pick up to perform in a demanding league like the Championship.

Return of the heavy artillery

Liam Cooper donned the captain’s armband for the first time since 1 December 2018 to a jubilant Elland Road. He was proud of the victory, though having to play catch up with the team’s intensity having had a break.

Adam Forshaw, unfortunate with defensive errors in the last few fixtures, displayed a textbook midfielder performance: A remarkable 90% pass accuracy, 4/6 tackles won and every one of his six longballs reaching their intended target.

Kemar Roofe was rested during the FA Cup elimination against Queens Park Rangers, but returned to start against Derby. His opening goal off Clarke’s assist proves why he is currently the best goal poacher in the Championship. However, his goal scoring record shadows his significant defensive work rate, which goes unnoticed.

The controversy and the mind games

The spying incident left Lampard justifiably disappointed. Many along with Lampard found it unfair and conniving. Bielsa was humble in assuming responsibility and respectfully admitting his folly. He claimed to have been using it since working with Argentina’s World Cup qualification more than 20 years ago. However, Derby have taken offence. This was enough for him to plead guilty admitting he must abide by English ethics of fair play.

There is a clear cultural dichotomy between the two footballing nations. The practice is commonplace to the culture of the game back in Argentina from the days of Bilardo. Hence, for a personality like Bielsa, his attitude to the incident, albeit respectful and apologetic, seems like a routine application of the 13th and final chapter in Sun Tsu’s Art of war: Using Spies.

Lampard’s biggest challenge was to prevent the scandal affecting his players mentally during the game. Unfortunately, it was quite visible. Derby County, unlike the tenacious side we have seen all season, looked exposed and defeated from the whistle. Lampard himself admitted:

“We were below standards, the better team won. There are no excuses to our performance.”

Leeds, on the contrary, were unperturbed in their mentality and confidence. They grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and showed no dearth of resolution.

12th Man effect

To add to the strength of the hosts, the emotions at Elland Road were beyond euphoric. For the passionate Leeds supporters, it is overwhelming enough to witness this incredulous rise to the top of the table. But the thrilling, nerve-wracking football that Leeds have exhibited this season has mesmerised all eyes.

The resonating ‘ole’s’ at every pass that Leeds orchestrated continued throughout the second half. That feeling of hope at Camp Nou watching Barcelona’s historic 2008 rise bears a faint, but uncanny resemblance. The result of the game was indeed influenced by more than just tactical variables.

Conclusion and consequences

This incident, having come into the limelight is bound for extensive scrutiny and debate. England and Argentina have shared a tumultuous history on and off the pitch. After Maradona’s ‘hand of God’ against England in the 1986 World Cup, the Argentinian Bielsa ironically finds himself at the helm of controversy. The whites of Elland road, who have hitherto enjoyed a ‘Cinderella story’ this season, risk being tainted with it.

Bielsa’s remains quiet in the transfer window for lack of quality replacements to his current squad. This would imply half a season of more extensive toil for his existing players. Does Isoroku Yamamoto’s kamikaze episode of Pearl harbour ring a bell? But, Leeds United have thoroughly bought into Bielsa’s ways and are on a mission: A mission to the top of the table, promotion and all glory that follows. They are at war, and surrounded by the love of Elland Road and Bielsistas, ‘all is fair’ in Leeds’ Shakespearean folklore.
