hello!! thanks so much for the message. yes, i have a feeling the manga is probably really good because i’ve seen the hype for it around here! i think this is of the most hyped shows for the winter season. and the anime is taking its sweet time to get there, so i’ll wait :’)) it hasn’t completely captivated me yet, but it does have its funny moments and i’m forever amused by the fact that hanako has the same voice as shinji from evangelion, and i already love yashiro, she’s a cutie 🙈🥰

it’s not something akira would expect out of ryuji - the eloquence, that is.  the sentiment was there, it always is, but he says it like it’s been on his mind for a long time.  ryuji takes akira to the spot where he would train for track, like he always does.  just past sunset, when the air was cool and forgiving, where the pair of them could slip back into the darkness of the night - the shadows that they had grown used to.

again, like he’s thought about this for weeks, months.  akira can only guess at what ryuji is hinting at - the track team, ryuji’s own prospects later in life.  unfurling all of ryuji’s sordid history has akira at a loss.  he can only close the gap in between them, ignoring the way ryuji is casting his gaze aside, and holds him tightly.

“do you have to be so corny?”  quietly.

akira doesn’t speak after, and only holds him until ryuji is pushing him away.
