you can love a character and still admit when they’re wrong. I love Heiya but can acknowledge her flaws (she has none) & can hold her accountable for her wrongdoings (she’s never done anything wrong in her entire life) & call her out for her actions (which are always correct)

I still don't understand why the director of the adap removed every perviness in the male characters (Chota, Tatta etc), but then made the females unnecessarily rapist. Leave my female characters alone, they're already disliked 💔

Like the way that they turned both heiyas and shibukis sex (or sex related) scenes predatory KILLS MEEE. I do still have mixed feelings about shibukis manga sex scene bc like, chota was still in high school and that weirds be out a bit but they were both of age and both happy to hook up. And heiyas scene was literally her asking dodo to fuck, he says no, and she's like "lmfao loser" and moves. on. Doesn't tackle him or force him down or anything

And the fact that they then had the audacity to show usagi getting assaulted but not her healing process and her eventual sex scene with arisu? Like that was so so important for her. She's not some pure angel like she's a woman who's allowed to help herself heal and have loving sex with a man who cares about her. She wasn't even allowed to be angry about her assault, she literally just shut up and dealt with it, but they didn't even show her dealing with it and the mental struggles that came along with having to internalize the trauma, like it's just like she forgot entirely

Even kuina to an extent. She didn't exactly do anything sexual in the manga but there were a few moments here and there. And they made her dainty and small and frail and sad. She was still a very well done character compared to the rest but damn I miss how brash she was

And ofc the writers and directors KNEW that the primary audience was teenagers who are addicted to their phones therefore making everything more soulless and eye-catching to retain viewers, so these ppl are now watching the show, not engaging with the manga, not thinking critically whatsoever, and spewing mysogynist rhetoric bc all of the women were shunned away from their sexuality. You see it in the way that ppl on TikTok are calling shibuki equal to/worse than niragi. In the way that they call heiya a rapist. In the way they comment "I wish I was usagi 🤩". IN THE WAY THAT THERE IS NO WLW SHIPPING CONTENT IN THIS WHOLE FANDOM ISTG. Like SHUT UP. LET WOMEN LIVE AND HAVE SEX LIVES.

It's just so disappointing to me that these details were either never caught on to or just straight up approved by the production team, bc it just paints the female characters in such a bad light
