Hi dears, Peahen mom and is back with another Drabble to the drabble series A deadly battle. This is a mini series between me and @demon-blood-youths of a upcoming battle with Ink and Sukuna.It seems were getting down the home stretch of this serious but it was really fun. This was really fun and exciting to write. <3 <3

------ Drabble Summary so far -------

After speaking with Gojo and Megumi, Ink is now going through her last lesson with her devil Vanity. Seems he wishes to teach something to Ink before the big battle. With the last month coming, the final showdown was drawing even closer. As this was going on, the others were thinking their devils will send them back soon but that’s when one of the Devils had a unknown vision of something. If you wanna know, read to find out!

A few of the fraction and their leaders and some of the devils belong to me.

((Grammar mistakes and errors will be seen and noticed in this but it’s written for fun. I hope you understand but with that, please enjoy <3))

This was it.

The last month before the final showdown and right now, it seems the devils along with their heirs were worried. Even after recovering from the horrible beat down from the king of curses Sukuna, they were still uneasy right now knowing of the fight with Ink and him. For now, they were being told or heard that Ink is going under training by her devil, Vanity.

For him, he was watching Ink training in the chamber but he can tell she was serious now. No more cocky jokes, no more playing around. He can tell from her eyes she was willing to do everything to win this fight. Even if it means risking everything. He stood there in a room thinking but he knew one of his men was keeping a eye and ear out in case. Just to be sure that Ink was alright but he will know or sense what is going on. He has felt some sudden power bursts but that was just Ink working on this and her Domain Expansion and this other passed down ability.

“.........” He knew it was risky, he knew this will be something but he knew she understood the risks from what she has told him.

‘Now as I said, you will train in this chamber on both but only when it’s needed. I will say this. This is going to be the toughest training you have done so far Ink. You know Sukuna will be either playing with you to think your not joking but I know when he sees how serious you are, he knows you are serious this time.’ Vanity remembers saying this to her before he would leave her to train in this chamber. He’ll still be on the side just watching in case something goes wrong. It was made to conceal any power but it keeps any damage from leaving to harm his church domain.

‘Yes; I understand.’

‘Good. I will leave you to train but remember what I said, this will be your challenging lesson yet. This move is as I said powerful but that just means you have to be careful. Your still a young demon learning of her true potential and power. But I know deep down you are able to do this.....you proven from what you learned that you are determined to get through this.’ Ink blinks to hear him say this but she only looks quiet to understand. This was going to be tough and with her having this last month to go, she had to. She had to do this for everyone. Herself. And for Yuji and Taz.

‘Yeah, I’ll be sure to do that. I’ll work on what I need to do. I don’t have a lot of time but I’m willing to give it my all.’ he saw her look to him but he can tell she was serious. From all the fights he’s seen her do, most was childish but serious at the same time. She’s had some challenging moments in the real world but now. Now, this one was for real.

He looks down at her with their grey eyes meeting but he knew she was determined to do her best, show her honor, and prove what the heir of blue flamed dragons pride is like. Without saying much, he turns to start leaving the chamber so she can train. As he got to the door, he stops that Ink noticed to look at him.

‘Ink..’

‘Yes Vanity?’ he didn’t turn to face her but he looks head still thinking about the message Sukuna left the devils but he only looks ahead with some of his black hair covering his face.

‘Do me proud little dragon..I know you will do this. You have that attitude but strength. Remember all you learned and pull through this...’

She blinks hearing this from him but saw he didn’t look at her while knowing in a way, he’s saying for her to be careful even if he didn’t say it in some way or show it. From the first day they met, to him helping her after forming their contract. Since then, he was her as his little hatchling; his little dragon and he wanted her to be careful. Something that a father would say to his daughter. Looking at him, she only looked determined but a little smile showed on her lips.

‘I will dad...’

That’s when he left her to train while he stands on the sidelines of this chamber but he knew deep down he was worried about her. He never showed it around others but in his words he can prove he was. Sukuna was a dangerous foe and ruthless force of nature that took down the heirs of the devils here. All of them are also worried wishing to help their heirs be prepared next time. Maybe they will help train them in their own time. For now, they did their part to helping Ink which he’s grateful for. Though for him, knowing of the last moments of training was going to be something.

The Invicta Deamonium. Something of raw power able to take down a powerful devil or a cursed spirit like Sukuna. But like he warned her, this was pretty risky to show. She, like the others, were young demons starting out. They have not tapped into their deeper demon selves yet so theirs power building within each one of them but right now, it’s not ready. They were not ready. As he watches her training in front of him, he thinks to what Sukuna is planning.

~~Meanwhile with Ink~~

She was panting heavily gripping her great sword but she was focusing on her cursed energy trying to work on her domain Expansion feeling the area with a hidden pressure coming from her. It moved some of her clothing while she focused. However, it was a lot harder than she thought. Knowing if this was the case, she had to still work on it.

‘Come on..come on...I have to do this. I have to do this for them. Myself..I won’t let Sukuna get away with this.’ she said in her head looking at her sword but she still worked on trying to connect her cursed energy around her while Vanity watches her. He knew this will take all of this last month but he knew she can do this.

~~Meanwhile in the main church room~~

Everyone was sitting together thinking about what will happen now. Due to Ink going through some training right now for the last month, they were worried about NYC. Or to say the world. They didn’t know what will happen in this fight but they hope that Ink will pull through.

The leaders were trying to remain calm and keep their teams calm but even they were worried of the result of the fight. They did look to think about it but was curious to what will happen themselves.

“You know Sukuna might do something stupid when we all head back..” The leaders look to hear Kali speak after a while but she had her arms crossed trying to not look worried even for herself but can you blame her?

“We know, Kali but right now we just have to go with it. Like that *shudders* guy said, he won’t do anything as long as we don’t interfear with his and Ink’s fight. It still painful to just watch and not do a thing to help her.” Guam knew it was painful but they knew it was to keep everyone safe.

“S..second, we don’t know what he might do. Knowing h..how he tends to have tricks u..up his sleeve, he might have a p..plan to keep us from d..doing anything.” That is true. Ashley felt that he might after her team lost horribly to him even with her being knocked out bleeding from her head but she looks down.

“What makes you think that?” Ethan asked.

“I..It’s a feeling. Something like umm...” she tired to think of a answer but Willow answers.

“An Omen?” she said seeing Ashley slowly nod worrying the other leaders.

“I..I know it’s silly but i..it’s a feeling that is known. Sukuna is dangerous b..but we all know. What could be stopping him from being stronger himself? He’s the k....k...king but we don’t know what he is going to do to keep us from bothering this..” she didn’t like the feeling but it made her rub the left side of her arm.

“..For now, lets just not over think it. That will make us all over think. Right now, we just have to do as that jerk says and not get involved. I don’t know if Sukuna has some evil plan towards this....but we have to follow his rules.” Jinx crosses her arms over her chest but her eyes were looking worried for a second before serious thinking of Sukuna. Even to what he did to her cursed sisters, her friends, and her close sister Ink. The thought made the flames form around her from that.

“Even if it pains us to just watch..we can’t risk someone else getting hurt like that again..” She really wished she could get back at him for what he did to her when breaking her arm and worse. She wanted to get him and kick his butt for that! However, she relaxed feeling someone touch her shoulder to see it was Fin that looks to her understanding.

“*Sighs* For now like stated, we just have to wait and see. I know Ink will kick his butt.....and get back at him for what he did to us and everyone.” she calms down but the leaders nod to understand.

“She’s right..” Matt said looking to hear this with his arms crossed. “Although, we all trained and helped Ink during the months, right now all that is now coming to close. From what we have gone though, this will be something we’ll remember but it’s also a life lesson.”

“What do you mean?” Joshua asked seeing Matt look to him then at the others.

“As leaders we have to learn and help our teams grow. Understanding things is tough in this world even were demons. Were young demons. Were still learning of what our powers can do. What our blood can do. We might have gone through hellish things from the past..but we have to focus on what is needed. This was a hard lesson for each of us but it helps us.” He looks to them.

“For now, we were taught a rough hard lesson.....but lets hope we learn and show our teams to help them get stronger too. Because at some point, it’s going to be a time when they have to grow stronger and powerful. Not all the same things we do right now will help us in the end. Their will be a time we have to grow out of that.”

“.........” Matt was right. After what happened everyone still lost even from the pain they endured. Though, they did look over to their teams seeing them relaxing or drinking something of herbal medicine made by Vanity’s men. Since some were still sore from before they are still trying to slowly recover and it was already fully alright again. Not mentally though. Inner scars like that take a while to heal.

The Devils were also checking on them from that time but they were happy to see that they were alright. Even from the physical trauma they went through in the beginning of the five months. They were happy to see their heirs alive and safe. Each one of them just felt relief knowing they were alright even if they were angry with him in the beginning of this idea, they could understand.

The heirs were still young but when they grow up in this world, they will have to understand choices come at a price even if they don’t like it. They have to make it. So now, they knew of Vanity training Ink and they knew they will be sent back home. Things seem to be alright for now that was good.

As Yen-Lo-Wang watches his heir Melinda seeing her drinking some of the herbal medicine with Jaron beside her. She was relaxing while closing her eyes with the others doing the same relaxing. It seems it was true but as he looks something felt...off. He closed his eyes crossing his arms but he almost could see within his own mind. Seeing the many souls of life and death however, something was amist. Most of them were swirling around but he almost was shocked to see something.

Was this a view of NYC? No, it didn’t seem like it. However, he could see fire a destroyed area. Blood splattered with screaming and shouting. He knew the shouts were of the heirs but why? They seem to be..fighting something? No, that’s not the case. He then sees something else but the more he looks into it, the image shatters like fragile glass to snap him out of it holding his head.

“Yen? You alright? Did something happen?” He heard one of the other devils named Beelzebub asked that got the others to notice.

“...I’m fine. Just a minor headache. I could have sworn I saw something..” He mutters.

“Saw something? Did you see something?” Chernoborg asked crossing his arms but Yen said nothing.

“I don’t know what I saw. I felt something but it’s hard to say. I heard things but again..hard to see.” That was not normal since he was the dragon god of death.

“Wait, did you see some sort of vision? That’s rather unknown of you-”

“That’s the thing, Leonado I don’t know why. Normally I tend to see the spirits and other things regarding the living and dead. And of my heir....I get this feeling Sukuna might have something up his sleeve but I can’t tell what it is.” he looks quiet but he thinks about Melinda. True, at the beginning she was unlike the other heirs in the past before they were killed. Now, it was her that was next in line but she’s been growing like the other heirs. Now, he saw her as someone close to him. Someone he didn’t want to lose. That was something huh?

“...Yen-Lo-Wang?”

“*sighs* I think we will have to be careful when we send them back...I don’t know why but I feel..that monster is planning something. And it might happen here...” he warns making the other devils more worried.

“H..Here? But that’s impossible. No one is able to get past the barrier around Vanity’s domain.” Goa said not believing that. From all the years she’s met Vanity and the others. No one was able to break through. No one. How was this different?

“She’s right. No one is able to. Not even a cursed spirit.” Nagi said while he was in his human form thinking about this with Orochi beside him thinking the same.

“I know that but it’s just a feeling.” Yen said.

“.......”

“For now, all we can do is just be alert. I know Vanity’s domain is powerful and nothing can break that but think about it. Were now in the past as we all were....things have changed so what is stopping that for a monster like that?”

“.....”

“For now..lets just stay alert. Something might happen when we are getting ready to take them back...I just feel that but I’m hoping I’m wrong.”

They slowly looks to their heirs but somehow this feeling was being sensed too. They don’t really get involved in their heir’s lives from what they seen so far but something about Yen’s words...scared them. For now, they will wait till Ink’s training is done or close to see her progress during this last month.

if thats anything to go by, the last few chapters have been rough. the fluff feels so far away that i cant even explain what happens. luci was waxing poetic about swimming in maple syrup for al, i remember that much. lilith is particularly an asshole even tho we havent seen her yet (or maybe we have. idr, mightve chatted with al) also emily is there (fallen) and has a lil smth to do with als and liliths deal. if you read it, warning for the gut punch of angst that starts chap 32 "She/Her" (though the chapter before that, "Should Alastor Know By Now?" ends pretty rough too)

i dont remember how i managed to stumble upon this but im having a great time. basically alastor is a new sinner fresh in hell (but time doesnt matter and the whole cast is still here) and thinks "what better way to gain power than be the personal assistant of the heartbroken king of hell!" features a 6-7 (rosies words) year old charlie and a morally dubious lilith (also i loved eepy al X3)

this ones a bit newer (10 chaps), is so far mostly exposition and the slowburn pot hasnt even been put on the stove, but as just a hazbin fic in general i see the potential. basically its a 1920s(30s?) au where heaven decides little charlie doesnt deserve to be raised in hell and is sent to earth with a "foster" family where her actions in life will determine witch realm she will return to after death. her "parents", al and mimzy, are given false memories so they can claim the girl as their own and gee i wasnt kidding when i said it was a lot of exposition. erm honestly explaining anymore would tech be spoiling so go read it!!

basically its a king x kings guard au where al and luci grow up together and only grow closer after a. certain life event for al (its fine guys trust :)) [she said, like a liar]) then al is sent off for royal guard training school (ik its not called that i forgor 😭) but dw he comes back. just watch out for graphic depictions of injuries (i think thats this fic) angst and a sneaky eve bc radioapple fics are allergic to happiness (or maybe im not looking hard enough lol) (also im really tempted to make the friendship bracelets they had 👀)

this one starts off as human!alastor/lucifer but by the middle(?) its just regular radioapple. basically al is encountered by luci while finishing off a job who agrees to keep quiet. luci just keeps on showing up, reveals hes the devil to which al us just like "lol ok" and eventually they get in a relationship (ooh lala 👀) but they break up after saying some hurtful things to each other (oh nono 👀) with luci promising al they will never cross paths again. if you watched the show then well. you know that doesnt happen 😂 most human!al radioapple have al summon him (no hate to them) so this was an interesting change of pace

Hello and welcome to my 2023 reading wrap up! A big Thank You to everyone who followed my ramblings throughout the year! <3 I will continue through 2024. Maybe I'll learn how to write proper reviews, at least I'll try to remember better what I actually want to say about the stories. In 2022, I read 93 books plus my own. Guess how many it were in 2023? 93 plus my own!! xD That was huge coincidence and I love it. Of these 94 books, 4 are rereads (which won't be included in the "Favourite" sections), 2 are non-fiction, 11 are non-queer. I only DNFed 1 book (which is not pictured) and other than that I only disliked 6 books! (And it's a pretty soft dislike in comparison. I don't hate them nearly enough to want to shit on them again. :'D).

Most Used Name: I counted names last year and didn't want to do it again this year because I read so much fantasy, so the names were all over. Still, there was one who stood out amongst them all with at least 4 instances, if not more. Probably more.

Congratulations. I have to admit, I've always liked that name. My favourite character of all times and part of my one and only OTP is named Will as well and I kinda hope the last book of their second trilogy never comes because it will probably make me scream and ... ...

Bonus! This year, I counted pages! Because I felt that most books were much shorter than what I read before. So I wanted to know. Turns out, my feeling was wrong. My 93 books had a whole of 33011 pages which results in approximately 350 pages per book. That's pretty normal I dare say.

That's it for 2023! I had a very good year in books. I wanted to read less actually, and failed spectacularly because I had too much fun. And if anyone's wondering how I read so much, I read fast and I just didn't do anything else in my free time. Escapism to the max. I hope, the new year treats you well! it's so interesting to think about grace as heaven considering jesse's existence. like in a way, that makes him her connection to the mortal world, which honestly doesn't feel that far off?? even in spite of the fact that he's literally a ghost

I had a whole response to this written out and the app :) deleted :) it :)

anyway let's try this again. Grace (and James) both have notable otherworldly aspects to them, they do not fit into the mortal world completely and instead stand outside it to a degree. their grandness erodes away at their humanity, and they both regard themselves as almost... unimportant. neither of them really care what happens to them, hence why they both turn down Magnus's offer of help. they both regard themselves with a detached careless (James's general behaviour in tmh; "I am my mother's blade")

however! Grace does deeply care about Jesse. even in tmh, despite what she says and Magnus thinks, I don't think Grace cares about Tatiana. she's working with her because they have the same goal, and since she can't tell Magnus her true reasons for staying, she comes off of caring for Tatiana (although I think her relationship to Tatiana is an entirely different complicated matter). Grace would stand even further apart from everything else if it wasn't for Jesse, her one true tie to the mortal world. Jesse on the other hand desperately wants to be apart of the mortal world, and is hanging on by his fingernails to it. even though he deeply disapproves of the methods preventing his death, he also is graceful for them (...ignore canon a bit okay). he can't fully condone them because he wants to live so badly, and there something very human about that. like he too is standing off to the side of the world but unlike Grace and James he hasn't resigned to his fate; he's fighting it as best he can.
