Masterlist | Day Two

Obi-wan Kenobi is beginning to understand why his former apprentice despised sand so much. 

It’s everywhere. In his hair, in his shoes, down his tunic, in his cot, in his food – no matter where he looks and no matter what he does it is always there: sand. He supposes it’s what he gets for choosing to stay on Tatooine to look over the son of his old padawan.  

He misses him. Anakin- of course. 

He was a brother to him. The closest thing to family one could get to someone disallowed from forming attachments. It’s hypocritical. He knows it is. But one cannot help but look back to more promising times. Where the galaxy was Kenobi’s oyster, and he had the ability to do good. Real good. Not just stabbing droids and fighting various Sith lords but maintaining peace and prosperity between all people.  

Now, Anakin is no more. Replaced and manipulated by Sheev Palpatine to be molded into something inhuman. Something dangerous. He is no longer the small slave boy he met on this very planet all those years ago. He is Darth Vader: the devastating pawn of the Empire that can ground whole Starship battalions with a simple wave of his hand and clench of his fist. And you know the most ironic part of it all? 

Obi-wan is the one who pushed him in the wrong direction in the first place. 

But you already know this. I won’t elaborate. Obi-wan pushes Anakin to the Dark Side (intentionally or otherwise), Order 66 takes place (his brothers tried to kill him), the Jedi are dead (didn’t I say I wouldn’t elaborate? Never mind), and now they are both alone on opposite sides of the galaxy. 

Or so Obi-wan thinks. 

It happens on his way back to the cave he calls home. It’s late evening – the twin suns falling between the cracks in the rock in front of him and blinding him. He carries a lump of bread under his armpit and a bag full of various mechanical parts that will hopefully be used to repair the Speeder he managed to salvage a few rotations ago, as well as the miniscule number of credits he earns at his pitiful job.  

He steps into his home after trudging along for a while, dropping the bread at one point and grumbling as he bends over to pick it up again, only for the contents of his bag to spill out all over the floor. 

His old strength has left him, and the Force is elsewhere, so he is forced to pick it all up by hand. It’s only when he finally returns all the parts to the bag and places it on the table with a tired thud that he speaks. 

“You’ve grown senile in age, Kenobi. I thought you were better than this.” 

He freezes in place. Maybe, if he is deadly silent and still and doesn’t turn around, he won’t see him. 

“Look at me, Obi-wan.” 

Well, that didn’t work. Slowly and with a dreaded pit in his stomach, Obi-wan turns to face his old padawan. Once done, he is rooted to the spot where he stands. Frozen. Useless. 

“Say something, Master.” The courtesy is spat at him like venom and Obi-wan fights the urge to flinch at it. It has been years since anyone has called him that. A black, soulless visor glares at him from where Vader stands in the corner of his room as if he were the Boogey Man.  

“Anakin, I-” 

Vader cuts him off. “Anakin is dead. We killed him on Mustafar.” Obi-wan dislikes the usage of ‘we’ in that sentence. “I am here, finally, to cut off some loose ends. Doing so in this way makes you luckier than most. I’m here to kill you, Obi-wan.” 

It’s then when the Universe decides to play a trick on the old Jedi Master. It’s then when the Universe decides to thrust all the nostalgic memories of the past on the man. The joy, the sadness, the howls of laughter, the sounds of blaster bolts and lightsabres making contact with each other. Times were simpler back then – when Obi-wan was a padawan himself and Anakin a simple slave boy trying to help his mother. The kind, righteous, simple boy who stands in front of him is no longer kind, righteous, or simple. He is a blight of terror that strikes fear into the hearts of millions- maybe even billions or trillions in the galaxy.  

The sound of ignition of Vader’s lightsabre reaches his ears, and Obi-wan closes his eyes. In the back of his mind, he sends a sorrowful prayer and apology to the son of the man in front of him, whom he is yet unaware of his presence on the planet.  

“Do what you must.”

Welcome back aoex fandom… I’ve decided for this AU to be called “Tightrope”!!!! Haha,, yeah it’s definitely not what i was saying earlier in that ask..

But yeah!!! I’ll be tagging any post related to this AU under a tag from now on! ;)

(The rest of this will contain spoilers from the manga, but then again this whole AU has been spoilers..)

Alrighty, this time we’re going over the reason for Rin’s appearance… Just as in the manga, Rin becomes “unstable” through Yukio breaking his sword, except in this tightrope au, their relationship was much more rockier than it was in the manga. So much stuff that wasn’t cleared up, lots of avoidance, not so much emotional stability.. There’s a whole background to how Yukio and Rin’s upbringing would’ve happened in this AU because of their little aged-up situation— some events are interpreted differently to fit and others are just completely new, you can assume— so obviously things happened differently between them without Yukio being the cram school’s teacher and Rin actually attending said school to begin with…

So, now that Yukio left Rin for Illuminati, leaving him completely lonely and without a proper purpose to live for in life… Rin’s demonic nature is left in a “tightrope-like” situation.

See how the title relates? And boy does it apply for many other things too.

Where is Mephisto to help with all this you ask? Oh he tried to offer Rin help by going into the past, but even after learning of his origins (I don't think it helped his self-esteem much tbh) Rin still finds himself unable to "restabilize". Like in the manga, it's not until Rin truly accepts both sides to himself is he able to truly stabilize. This AU is obviously more heavy on the twins terrible communication and relationship, so obviously this will be harder for Rin.

For as long as he can remember, Rin's always thought of himself as a nuisance to his family. And with Fujimoto's death, everything seems to be Rin's fault and he's not stupid enough as to not notice the pattern. Unfortunately, this really eats away at Rin, especially with how distant Yukio was with him. So until Rin can learn to accept the uglier parts of himself, he won't be stable. And Yukio is the most important part for him to realize that.

Now… time for the appearance explanation.

When Rin first "unstabilizes" his hair, ears, and eyes change (other smaller details like his canines as well as the newest addition of little nubs on his forehead). The more "unstable" he is, the more prominent these features become—his hair is wholly whitish-blue, his ears and canines are pointier, his eyes are sharper and more vibrant, and his little horns get bigger.

After becoming a not-so-substitute-teacher for the cram school, these features start to become smaller or fade away!!!! Depending on Rin’s emotional state—negative emotions lead to instability and positive emotions leads to stability— his appearance changes. The happier and healthier he is, the more his black roots take place (his original hair color) and the duller his other features become!

Now as for his flames.. I think some logic may be off canon for this but it’ll be fine! He can freely use his flames like he does during the final war-against-satan arc, however, his state of stability changes how precisely he can use them. The more unstable he is, the broader and rougher the attacks. When he’s more stable, his attacks can be more precise and controlled, such as shaping his flames into weapons and other uses.

Anywho, I’ll have to start on making these differences more noticeable for the Rin’s I’m drawing out, because I do like to draw him at different times of his life (if you take note of his hair,,, its one of his best indicators ahah). But yes. Now that I’ve written this concept out (after I drew these sketches whoops) I’ll be showing off a little more of the story once some heavy inspiration hits me. I hope you guys enjoy hearing about this AU as much as I love writing and drawing it!!!!! I’d love to hear feedback or any fic recommendations..! They are my fuel.

MEGATRON THE DOMINATOR

CHAMPION OF KAON!!

KILLER OF PRIMES!

so, so many names. Megatron is currently in his prime. He doesn’t tire and is seemingly indestructible. What’s even more indestructible is his spirit. Despite him being pretty young for a cybertron leader (especially cause he doesn’t look young.) he’s been through a lot so he was forced to grow up fast.

He has no more family left and is aware that some of his faction he cannot trust. This has left him mostly alone. Unable to let himself go around anyone. Thought most decepticons would die for him, he would too, some of them are waiting for the perfect time to catch weaknesses.

Megatron isn’t the smartest, fastest or strongest deception. But he wants power more than anything. He rules the decepticons as such. In the beginning he had to basically beat the idea into each and everyone of them that he is the leader and is not just some weak arrogant boy. (he still has to for starscream till this day.)

Lore:

Megatron was born as a green spark deep within the Cybertron. He was found by Terminus and his family. Rather than turn megs in to their master to get some kind of reward, they took him in.

Megatron tried many things to better the lives of his family so they could get out of their situation and be free. Megatron tried being a medic when he got old enough because at the time anyone could become one. But a fight happened that he was involved with. Tossing him in jail for a bit. And a law to be past the only medical grade frames could become medics.

This whole situation also caused Megatron to be found out. Terminus protected him but died in the process. Now megatron (megatronus at the time whoops.) Now megatronus having no one am nothing went to Kaon to escape.

Over the years he became the megatron he’s know as today. And the leaders of Cybertron worst nightmare.

-that is a very summed up version of his story. Cause hehe no spoilers.

A little insight on Megs relationship.

Megatron’s finally got to get out of his own head when he met Kiloton. He met him while over seeing a decepticon mining operation. As they spoke to each other Megatron grew very attached to him. And to be honest he was a little bi curious anyways. Kiloton is the only one Megatron can truly trust.

Kilo isn’t very tough and Megatron knows that many would view him as a weakness and a target. So for now their relationship is secret.

Kiloton is also the only one who has told Megs to shut it and Megatron does it.

charlie n i also deliberated what we're all gonna do with our lives between next sunday and the putative autumn tour and concluded it's just gonna be going back to watching the blue ring for approx 5 months

le general observations

ok well my observation re hyped up audiences being crucial to the show was confirmed....

this was a friday night and the crowd was good but where was the whooping and hollering at the beginning?? where was hugo's applause for the elements song???

if charlie and me had been sat together maybe we would have brought the house down but as it was i wasn't going to be the one losing it in the front row lol

many of these observations are new because front row adds a whoooole new perspective to the show

anyway it's still amazing and the cast are having a blast and just ❤️❤️❤️

i'm actually going to write an insanely long read about the whole production once the run is over because i have Too Many Thoughts

act 1

reece's character in the opening theatre scene (haig? i'm gonna call him haig bc house divided) actually gets so angry at angus and is mouthing all kinds of shit at him in that first scene

also literally the first hint of physical comedy from rs comes with that ridiculous cross and uncross of legs that he does i mean like pls

someone in the front row started clapping at the "chekhov's pun" line when steve tries to rile up the crowd and steve just looks down at him and shakes his head like "nah that's too much" lol

BCDR was pretty much the same as the last times i've seen it - tho i'm p sure reece flubbed the drake and shelby line a lil bit... we'll blame fucking little toby xox

danny baker as hostage tbh went way over my head but the boys seemed to be having a ball..... danny was pretty funny being like "you only said i'd be on for one fucking minute", "i was on bbc one, not that you'd have any fucking idea about that" lmao

reece/tommy/eddie went SO OTT on the picking up the phone bit, like literally got right up in danny's face

i feel like it's not even anything to especially highlight now but yes reader, you guessed correctly, reece spends like 90% of this part corpsing

steve is dialling up the celery bit up like 10% every single time now so it's even more absurd than the last time and is just the last straw for reece hahaha i cannot WAIT for how they do this on closing night

i have thought this every time obv but not explicitly called it out - reece singing brown bottles is?? so wonderful???

ok so i kNEW that in this seat would be exceptionally close to (1) hugo's whole wheelchair scene and (2) marcus when he's crouched down watching the trepanning..... and these scenes were highly enjoyable at such close range!!!

i've already declared my love for hugo but i'll do it again. hugo i love you

finally spotted how they do madam cragg's gubbins!! it's always been too quick for me to suss it out before

HAHA oh my god in the scene where marcus is giving everyone notes you literally see in the notebook he's holding that he has 'marcus' with two massive ticks written next to it

i still maintain that honestly one of the scariest moments in the whole show is when abby is filming the auditorium and then it cuts to the empty seats.... the collective gasp of the audience is always so dang sweet

i mean shout out to the whole cast OBVIOUSLY but special mentions this time go to

1. bhav joshi, who obviously doesn't have that many lines (hur hur) but he is so fking good as the warden.... also if u watch him in the scene when they bring all the techies on, the way he's glaring at them is honestly hilarious

2. anna francolini the actress that you are..... in the first (fake) curtain call she is actually crying!! like full tears running down her cheeks!!! masterful

there was generally less going on this time and also r had somewhat dialled down the life-threatening levels of cunt-serving to normal levels (i.e. he wasn't in that dark ensemble) so i had maybe 2% more composure this time

my sharpie was being a little temperamental and i did notice that steve still spent an extra second or so making sure he could still do his signature 'X' as part of his sign..... love u steve, the man understands fan service

i'm still in awe that they do this basically every single night and make a point of signing and talking to everyone..... for those who saw my much ado about nothing stage door experience this is actually so rare and we are very lucky 🙇

firstly, thank you sm for your fics omg,, i first found you on ao3 with floral inconvenience ages ago (i love all of them sm but vil + absolute bastard bestie ace was my fave, esp with all the vdc gang cameos <3 AND THE ENDING,, 😳🫣.... no one truly is immune to vil schoenheit....), then later on with ptm (i didn't even know it was the same author at first but both of those series gave me such intense brainrot so ur one of my fave authors now). i've yet to read your other series but i know i won't be disappointed when i finally get to!!

i just love the way you write sm?? especially character interactions. i think you really make them feel alive and thats why i enjoyed both of those fics! not to mention how spot on your characterization is. not a single person from the twst cast feels ooc to me honestly so i have sm respect for you 🫡

i really did latch on hard to ptm though, even if i'm not a jade liker,, like the concept is just funny as hell to me. you really cooked and SERVED with the fic so it's been a real delight to read (and reread ,, the whole thing over and over 🗿) !!

yuu so far has been hesitating to say anything about their telepathy + specifically knowing jade's feelings because of it due to 1) that shit's so embarassing. theyre dying just from listening 😭 2) afraid of his reaction especially considering that it's Telepathy (esp now that yuu has a taste of some of the ob boys' reactions in ch6...)

if yuu had been,, i guess,, more brave? ??upon realizing jade likes them romantically (not just sexually), then decided that they'd confess and just be honest rather than lead him on because they don't like him like that [yet 👀]...

1) would jade be as freaked out by the fact that they know his private thoughts like jamil/azul/idia had been in ch6? or more chill but still unnerved, only because he was fine with yuu knowing him?

2) would jade still pursue them and try to woo them over? even if yuu says they don't like him like that but still hoped their friendship isn't ruined despite the rejection and the telepathy thing? i've read some of your ptm asks before and you've mentioned jade is somewhat more of a sensitive soul to these things despite how he looks (i hope i'm not mistaken!). is this enough to dishearten him? especially since yuu's only reason for a rejection would be because they "don't know each other that well" when asked by aspen and tony.

I'm happy you found me through my first event! Looking back at it I can definitely see a difference between my writing then and now, which is kinda cool to see! I hope if you get to my other series that you also enjoy those!! I am hoping to have at least PTM and 2-3-6 done before starting my next one but we'll see teheee

I'm glad that you like my character interactions! It's always a bit of a worry if the interactions between the cast feels organic, as I kinda based them and the dialogue on how me and my friends interact. I'm glad that overall people get a kick out of it tho! ^^

AAA and worldbuilding is one of my favorite things to do!! It might be cause of my anthro brain but I love making the world feel more alive! We have a limited amount of information about the world of TWST outside of what we know from the cast, so I like to add things that I think help the characters and the fics themselves feel more alive!

Aspen is def a fan favorite from what I've gathered lol. I'd love to write a few things for just the PTM ocs because I have so many thoughts and feelings, but I know people are mostly here for x reader stuff so I really haven't hehe

For you're questions about Jade knowing at the beginning that Yuu has telepathy, I'll go one by one!

Jade absolutely would be extremely distressed that he knows that Yuu knows. I do think that Jade likes to "perform" and present himself a certain way. He has a reputation that he likes and wants to keep; having someone know your deepest, most intimate thoughts. I think it would be worst knowing that the love of your life knows those thoughts, but you don't know theirs.

Saying that though, he's also very adaptable and IS sensitive at heart (people can fight me on this). It's also a thing that Yuu does reciprocate, they just don't realize because they've been through a lot over the past year so their focus is elsewhere. A good way to think about it as that Yuu/Reader is a bit of an unreliable narrator. I think Jade would ask that Yuu not make a decision right here or now, but to wait and allow everything to take it's natural course. It will be difficult for both parties, Jade still has his thoughts (that he is now hyper-aware of) and Yuu is still extremely flustered by them (and him), but it allows for the relationship to develop in a different way that can be a lovely way for the friendship first to blossom, making the foundation for a beautiful romance as well.

Hihi!! I just wanna start off by saying I. LOVE. The designs for your roleswap. You have given me many of The Thoughts. One thing I’m a bit curious about: where exactly does Quan Yizhen stand here? You’d expect him to remain a Heavenly Official, but Yin Yu being in Ling Wen’s spot raises questions.

**SPOILERS AHEAD. RUN NOW FOR ALL YE WHOM STILL READ**

With The Brocade Immortal, It’s likely Ling Wen was no longer the one to ‘create’ the Brocade Immortal, so perhaps that ‘honor’ falls to Yin Yu? But then that begs the question of who is the Brocade Immoral in that case? Would it still be the same person as the main novel or would if be someone else? Who could that someone else be? If my initial gut feeling is right then Quan Yizhen being the Brocade Immortal would be neat. Yin Yu feeling guilty for the loss and trying to bring Quan Yizhen back. (If you already mentioned QYZ at some point… whoops..?)

Also pretty curious about the dynamic between the Ghost Kings (well, the Calamities). We can suspect that Xie Lian, Shi Qingxuan and perhaps Mei Nianqing (if MNQ is present) are all on tolerable terms with each other, which isolates Lang Qianqiu, especially since it’s still incredibly likely that Xie Lian was still his teacher assuming Xie Lian wouldn’t continue on his warpath (this is also assuming Xie Lian remains the Crown Prince. But it seems likely because Mei Nianqing would likely have a certain title for Hua Cheng like cannon Jun Wu had given cannon Xie Lian. Plus: The increasing likelihood of Feng Xin and Mu Qing being ghosts supports the theory because if they both *died* rather than abandoning Xie Lian, I don’t think he would’ve held back…

But this is all just a theory! An AU-I-Read-Too-Far-Into Theory!

I really REALLY love your theories! thankyou for sharing them with me! I already have a comic drafted with Quan Yizhen actually! He is definitely one of my favorite characters in canon story. He reminds me of a very mellow Binghe hehe. I look forward to showing you guys his design in the AU! <3

Oh and yes, of course I would love to show the calamities/ghost kings interact. We haven't seen much of it yet since every comic I've done so far are sort of on Hua Cheng's POV. I'll hopefully make a comic in the future with Xie Lian's POV!

man i had this whole theory going on where max died in the "living" timeline at the same point that safi died in the "dead" timeline and that was why there was no alternate version of herself and it was some safis trying to save max while max is trying to save safi thing - obviously very wrong but i still vibe with it

To form something of a coherent conclusion: Really solid game, with some great scenes (the end of chapter 2 and start of 3 were def the standouts to me) and (in my opinion at least) really really good development for max - she was so clearly the same max as the original game but also she's grown up and she's grown into herself and ahhh it made me so happy to see!

I found some of the twists more effective than others and I think there could have been more build up to the storm (like in the original lis you KNOW it's coming for so long and there's this feeling of dread throughout whereas it kind of felt like we rushed to get to it here), but overall i had a good time, i really enjoyed getting to know the characters, and most of all, i really enjoyed getting stupidly attached to Max Caulfield again <3

7/10 looking forward to going down the rabbit hole with this one and i guess we'll see where we go next...??

i also looove lorelune's yandere kaiser, another fic without smut that really gets into how it looks romantic almost from the outside but isn't

i also love everything cyancherub has ever written, if i had to choose one then the gunsmoke in mirrors fic for psycho pass. for darker content then their bnha series (the chapter i have linked has stepcest)

hehe well pepper has a lot of options. obviously his and felix’s first meeting had been terrifying, especially since he had never met a human before. then there was the time alice kidnapped him which had been completely awful, although at least he knew he had felix around to rescue him. felix interacting with him while drunk had sucked too. 😭 maybe i should give him a break whoops sorry pepper

felix hasn’t had a ton of bad experiences with the borrowers, simply because he is so much bigger and therefore feels more in control. his worst experiences had been when the borrowers were in danger, and while his first interaction with pepper brings back a ton of bad memories for felix, their kidnapping for sure was his worst experience 😔

ok genuinely though, I want to see more of a human shrinking to borrower-size, whether they know about borrowers or not. it has so much potential for fluff or angst, and it’s always so interesting to see a human hang out with a borrower at the same size! I think the reason why a lot of people don’t write it is because it doesn’t contain a lot of g/t interaction, but I LOVEEEEE worldbuilding more than anything and am content to just read two borrowers interacting. like yesss give me the extensive dialogue i love love it sm

Hi! One day until the new chapter, I'm already vibrating with excitement!!! I was constantly theorizing over the past few days about what would happen next and here are my theories: first, I think that Alastor's favor will include asking Lucifer to help him outright kill the Vees AND to end their "arrangement" after. Which will of course destroy Lucifer but he will still respect Alastor's wish. And here starts my other theory, which is that the fundamental problem with Vox is that he wants Alastor not as a friend or partner or whatever (he thinks he does but no) but more like an object to have. To own! Even if he cared about Alastor at the beginning, he still mostly wanted to have him, like a thropy to put on display, and never as an equal whom he respects. Or this is my interpretation of him in your story. Whereas Lucifer, hating sinners for so long, and awkward as Hell, still managed to respect every boundary Alastor has set up and even when they were just little less than enemies he still respected Alastor as a person to not push his limits. I would absolutely squeal to see Lucifer fucking SCREAM this into Vox's face in full demon form, that Vox doesn't even deserve to breathe the same air as Alastor, because sinner or not, he is not an object or a nonperforming deal but a person with wants and needs and limits and nobody has the right to question them. And he has full right to end friendships if he sees them fit. Alastor would probably swoon a little on the inside hearing this :), but this would also signal two things for him: that Lucifer doesn't despise sinners in general anymore, and that he genuinely cares. Sorry for the long ask, hehe! I don't know what Vox's fate would be like this :D But even if it's a little bit ooc, I'd like to think that Alastor would call off the favor in order to not make Lucifer first thing have to kill for his first friend in centuries and also to resume their relationship. So the Vees would live still but would seriously get their ass whooped. And probably their tower destroyed.

I love how much you thought about this! I especially like your interpretation of Vox's thought process and the differences between Lucifer / Vox in regards to their connection with Alastor.

I won't give you any spoilers! Although the terms of their promise is that they become friendly, and finish their arrangement first before Lucifer owes a favour. So that might give you some more things to chew on 👀
