There are so many ways Aziraphale can go about as the Supreme Archangel now, and I've realised I want it all.

Being all in charge, bossy and bitchy and hurt, not taking anyone's bullshit anymore? Unf. Being incredibly insecure and flustered, not accustomed to Heaven's rigid ways after thousands of years spent on Earth, uncomfortable with the spacial office and the impersonal white desk? Trying to liven it up by putting up a souvenir, and then finding it has disappeared overnight? Gimmie. In the official meetings, actually chiming in with suggestions only to be shut down and realising his position doesn't change the angels attitude towards him? Trying a different approach instead of just being nice - commanding? Resigned? Assertive? Breaking down after a late night meeting, finally alone, with tears in his eyes and hiccups and sobs, because he... doesn't know what to do? Utterly ruined and cannot-stop-thinking-about-Crowley, plagued by the memories of what he gave up, and for what? P l e a s e. Distressed upon hearing about the Second Coming, then figuring out a plan to save them all, that may or may not include a certain demon? Scheming behind everyone's backs and lying to their faces because, well - "what are you going to do, fire me?". Trying to contact Crowley every way he can - through the celestial phone, through Muriel, actually going down to Earth to watch from a distance, or just observing the space where he'd be on the globe. Or maybe actively not. seeking. him. out, shutting down every possibility of connection, because if he gives in, he won't have the strength to carry on anymore.

God, give me Aziraphale re-evaluating his relationship with Heaven, with the angels, with himself. He's capable of so much power, let him use it. Let him be sure. Let him be horribly mistaken. It's going to be delicious, I know, I will eat this all up.

Aziraphale and Crowley were wrong in their choices.

Aziraphale thinks he needs to choose Heaven so he can “make things right.” just like when he talked to Metatron in season 1 instead of running away with Crowley.

Crowley thinks they should ignore all the problems and run away together just like he did in season 1.

these decisions are both wrong. but they’re both too stubborn to think any other way. at least for now.

So I didn't get to see S2 until today and I'd previously seen half a spoiler that Aziraphael died?! And then I hit block on all spoilers and went about my day. But then I sat down today to binge the entire season clutching my pearls the entire time, thinking of how Aziraphael would meet his end. And then the season (and what a lovely season it was) was all about how much Crowley loves his angel and I was fully expecting the ending to rip my heart out if Aziraphael died. But the ending?? The actual ending?? How about you feed me poison, it'd be less painful? Wow, give us everything and then give us NOTHING? IT TOOK ME 30 MINUTES TO GET THROUGH A 5 MINUTE SCENE BECAUSE I KEPT STOPPING IT. MY HANDS WERE SHAKING! I TEARED UP! AZIRAPHAEL, BABY, NO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??

That is to say, the season was amazing, I'm planning a full rewatch of both seasons and a reread, and I plan to consume an unholy amount of fanfic for this. Neil Gaiman is a king, I won't accept criticism.

Wanted to read the 16000 good omens essay for shits and giggles and now I kinda wanna hunt the author for sport

#i know this seems hateful but i promise i mean this in a playful way #its just such a FUNDAMENTAL misunderstanding of the genre of the show and also the characters #like aziraphale isnt lazy and sure hes not ambitious but he cares about heaven being good #which is why he takes the offer #he believes that with the right push heaven could be doing good #and also the core belief that all these plotpoints have to have a plot pay off???#like we see a lot of them pay off in a narrative sense or be a set up for season 3 or even just be a glimspe of azicrows relationship #like dont get me wrong #its a brilliant theory and i adore this persons dedication #theres just no way i could ever agree with them #good omens

When I first watched rvb I picked it up in the later seasons and it took me maybe two/three seasons to realize grif and Simmons were in fact not together

Their dynamic is literally such an original 'bickering long time married couple' and 'multi divorced people who keep getting back together and divorcing over anything' combined it's literally my favorite thing about them

really funny that despair wasn't even the finale. all that happened and we still had to wait a week for the actual end of the show

ok something I think about every time I watch good omens 2 is about the colours of the angels’ clothes compared to Aziraphale??

like Az always wears warm tones and the higher up fuckers always have on these cool greys

then Muriel rocks up in warm tones as well because we might not trust them yet but they have potential

something something warm tones for the angels we trust and cool tones for the angels we don’t

and this has to be purposeful because we know heaven gives out clothes!!! Gabriel loses his clothes (his Gabriel-ness) then spends the season being a forgetful sweetheart in Aziraphale’s borrowed warm-toned jumpers

even Crowley was in warmer tones when he was infiltrating the hive!

anyway if Aziraphale shows up in cool greys next season I’m gonna throw myself into an active volcano
