Everyone meet Labradorite, my Gemsona. I've had this concept for about 8 years now but haven't drawn her in a super long time. I thought it was about time to bring her into Era 3.

Under the rule of the diamonds, she was a mercenary and assassin, poofing or even shattering rebels and traitors that proved too strong for rubies or quartzes. She didn't enjoy it but went along with her orders, not wanting to suffer the same fate as some of her targets. After the Gem war she was corrupted and later bubbled by the crystal gems, but was healed in Era 3 during the newfound peace.

She now finds joy in Art and exploration, venturing to far off corners of the galaxy to paint alien landscapes. She still enjoys a good fight every now and then, but has calmed down alot since she was uncorrupted. When she's not painting she's taking part in friendly gladiator-like competitions to satisfy her hunger for battle.

Okay I am in the process currently of making more gem OCs for my sona to interact with (in the past! history oooo)

The lore is that Mangano Calcite (the sona who is only a sona in technicality) was a gem created to serve. She gains a few new owners over the span of her life pre-war, ending with Hessonite (a garnet) who puts her gem in an object that can change shapes (with her own shape shifting abilities). Mangano can hear commands and follow orders but can't see or move or do much else while trapped (somewhat similar to Lapis in the mirror). Mangano then is freed thanks to Melanite (yet another garnet!) but now serves on the side of the gem rebellion, because that's the side that freed her.

She did not have any say in this. Mangano follows along at first, willing to oblige and be obedient (never really believing in the cause), but finds herself growing more and more frustrated over the years and more and more despondent and cynical, doubting the rebellion and their strength, claiming that it will fall to Homeworld and the Diamonds even in its prime.

She leaves the crystal gems, gets corrupted, then gets uncorrupted in Steven's bathroom with no memories of her past. He tells her that she might not remember because of the nasty crack she had in her gem before he healed her. Weird. Okay, little fleshy dude.

Now all Mangano does is watch human cartoons and ship characters. With her other uncorrupted gem buds.

Who was your first “cringe” oc or the first one you remember? Mines howlite, a gemsona and I specifically chose that gem because it’s grey and white and i can also put some black in the color palette because edgy and also inspired by another howlite i saw on deviantart. Her gem is on her left eye and she gets to beach city by fucking falling from the sky like a meteor and she ends surviving that but with a cracked gem😭 she first wears a white dress but after steven heals her gem she ends up wearing a suit but the blazer is short sleeves and she’s wearing shorts. Also her weapon is, get ready for this, a glock 😭 and you know i kinda wanna redraw her if i find my old drawings of her

My Gemsona OCs as Wings of Fire dragons (Part 1):

The Elites:

Zebra Jasper = Icewing-Nightwing hybrid

Zebra Jasper has the body of an Icewing, with pure, snowy white scales. However, some scales of his, like the ones across his neck, the ruff of extra horns behind his head and his tail are a midnight black, a trait of Nightwing coloration.

Underneath his wings, the coloration is a faded, starry black, also a trait from the Nightwing part. He does not have the typical Icewing serrated claw at his wings.

In addition, he does not have the Icewing, icicle-shaped spines tail. He has the straight Nightwing tail. Moreover, he has the silver teardrop scales by the corners of his eyes, which means he is able to read minds. Instead of frost-breath, he breathes fire. His gemstone is the same pear-cut and on his upper back. His eyes are black.

Equivalent = Darkstalker (Nightwing-Icewing hybrid)

2. Quantum Quattro Silica = Seawing

Typical Seawing body with royal blue coloration but with silver scales and underneath his wings as well. Gemstone is in the same cut and place. Basic Seawing abilities (Strong swimmer, bioluminescent stripes, healing upon water, etc.)

3. Lemon Quartz = Rainwing

Typical Rainwing body with bright yellow scales. Gemstone is in the same cut and place. Has the basic Rainwing abilities (Camouflage, prehensile tail, venom, etc.)

4. Pietersite = Rainwing

Typical Rainwing body with gold, blue and red scales. Gemstone is in the same cut and place. Has the basic Rainwing abilities (Camouflage, prehensile tail, venom, etc.)

5. Mystic Topaz = Nightwing-Rainwing hybrid

Mystic Topaz has the body of a Nightwing but with dull rainbow scales across his neck, back and under his wings, a trait from the Rainwing side. He has the Rainwing prehensile tail. Doesn't have the silver teardrop scales. Instead of breathing fire, he has the Rainwing's venom ability. Gemstone is in the same place and cut.

6. Axinite = Mudwing

Typical Mudwing body with dark brown scales. Gemstone is in the same place and cut. Gemstone is in the same place and cut. Has basic Mudwings abilities (Hold his breath for up to an hour, breath fire, if warm enough, extremely strong, camouflage in mud and dirt and healing via mud. He may or may not be immune to fire.)

7. Bixbyite = Nightwing

Typical Nightwing body with dark black and purple scales, with the silver teardrops scales by his eyes. Gemstone is in the same place and cut. Has the basic Nightwing abilities (Mind reading, breathing fire, camouflage in the dark, etc.) (He may or may not be an animus dragon.)

HERES A GEMSONA I MADE FOR SOMEONE!

Diaboleite’s in the homeworld Caste System are just above Lapis Lazuli’s, being medics and raiders. During the Rebellion, they were created by Blue Diamond to heal cracked and maybe even shattered gems after attacked by the rebels, and some Diaboleite’s raided the buildings that the crystal gems built with Quartz soldiers and Bismuths to destruct them. Diaboleite was made around this time and did her assigned duties well. After the Diamond blast, she was purely a medic. Her and other Diaboleite’s would occasionally help build structures and buildings on homeworld, but their main purpose being a healer. They are, of course, owned by higher ranked gems. Maybe even middle ranked gems like Jades, Zircons, or even Quartzes. Diabloeite has since laid low and made friends in little homeschool after era 3.

Her name is Sam and she’s half human and half gem and her gem is a ruby on her left shoulder and she can summon a battle axe and one time she almost got corrupted and the scars didn’t heal properly but she got the ability to turn into a badass dragon and her favorite food is candied popcorn

I finally caved and made a gemsona. There's Pearl but there's no Amber... she's one of White Diamond's gems made from a planet with a lot of organic life. She's a little organic herself... not much to matter but it does give her a less gemlike appearance. And also being corrupted and then healed doesn't help with that. Ambers are gem squadron leaders, surveying the land (Or battlefield) and giving out the proper orders. They have the power of flight which helps with that. They are less resistant to change unlike other gems, which helps with ever changing field status. They required too much organic life to make and soon other flying gems and more coordinated soldiers made them obsolete, so they were phased out. Amber's weapon is a chainsaw

I have this old gemsona name Serendibite that I did I think between 2017 and 2018 and thought I should redo them. I didn't have a lot going on with who they were when I created them. But I did get the agender identity and them being the love interest of Moldavite, who I believe is the name of the Glass Ghost first seen in the comic miniseries Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems. I already got the design for her uncorrupted form and now gotta get some work done on her. Will probably post it today or tomorrow (probably tomorrow I think). And with Serendibite getting a nickname, I was like, "Why not?" at the time. And that nickname is Lau. Also, their personality is that despite looking monstrous in appearance and wanting to kill you, they are completely harmless. Lau actually has anxiety and is really shy around new people. But is pretty comfortable with gems that they can trust. They are also curious about new things that catches their attention and want to engage with that activity or whatever. And the reason for the appearance/design, remember that overcooked gems are gems that are in there for too long and are deformed? Well, I imagine this is what a type of undercooked gem will look like. A gem that popped out of their hole way too early after the injectors were put to the ground. Because of that, undercooked gems are indestructible when it comes to being poofed normally and are immune to being corrupted. The only way they can be poofed is if they have emotional distress (like Spinel's). And one more thing, undercooked gems don't have the ability to talk. But with Lau's powers, they are able to describe and say what they are trying to say or talk to about. The rest of their bio is in the character bio down below. Right, I'm trying to figure out the design for a normal Serendibite will look like. Just, give me some time ok?

For decades, Serendibite wandered around the globe trying to find a new purpose in life. But all of the gems that see them (including the crystal gems) turn around in fear which makes them pretty lonely. Then one day, they met a gem who had just betrayed homeworld whose name is Moldavite. Moldavite was shocked at seeing Serendibite at first but noticed that they were pretty scared at being seen. Moldavite was able to calm Serendibite down and found out that Serendibite is an undercooked gem. Serendibite later finds out why Moldavite betrayed homeworld in the first place, which is her saving an innocent gem who was framed for treason and helped her escape. After learning about this, the two became best friends and then tried to join the crystal gems. Moldavite is immediately accepted, but Pearl and Garnet are suspicious of Serendibite. But Rose/Pink believes that Serendibite is just a scared gem who just wants to have a happy and normal life and allows them to join with them and Moldavite becomes partners. During the next few hundred years, the two fell in love with each other and started dating while Moldavite gave Serendibite the nickname Lau. During the end of the rebellion, Lau was the only gem to not become corrupted but witnessed Moldavite get corrupted. They were able to poof her and started to look for Rose and any other crystal gems with her gemstone in hand. Months later, they found Rose and she then tried to use her healing tears to heal Moldavite's corruption but as they all thought that it worked, Moldavite reverted to her corrupted form, but retained her sanity. Rose tells Moldavite to stay hidden and not touch anything until she can find anything that will fully cure her. Rose then tells Lau to get out of Earth and head to the Wanda Solar System in the Aaru Galaxy for their own safety and that there might be gems that will keep them safe until Rose can find a cure for Moldavite. Now Lau is wandering the 4th planet in the Wanda Solar System hoping to be reunited with Moldavite.
