Post Azkaban Seb canon (kind of, advice appreciated)

The time has come... damn it!

I'm not a Sallow fan, I don't like him for... personal reasons. But! I need to add him in my work, I have no idea how to write him, I'm trying to read something but I'm mostly confused XD So, I made my canons for a post Azkaban Seb.

Do these make sense? Anything to add or consider?

Please, help me >.<" 1 - Having killed his abusive uncle, Seb was sent to Azkaban in pretrial detention for few months.

2- He was acquitted for self-defence.

3- He spent those months in the lowest level of the prison, the one where the less dangerous criminals are held.

4- The lowest level is the most humid; he could hear the raging waves of the sea against the mossy and moldy walls. As a result, he suffers from PTSD and cannot not stand humid, isolated places.

5- In order to survive his detention and not lose his mind, he constantly repeated everything he had learnt during his fifth year. When he went back to Hogwarts, he passed his O.W.L.s with flying colours.

6- He lost one year at Hogwarts.

7- Now he can't sleep in the Slytherin dorm anymore, partly because his roommates don't want to be around him, partly because he cannot stand the cold, the dampness and the sound of the waves of the Black Lake in the common room.

8- He sleeps in the kitchens, where it's warmer, he has plenty of food and there is always someone to keep him company (house elves)

9- He cannot stand the cold anymore; he needs constant light and warmth, always. Even an unexpected splash of water can cause severe PTSD.

10- He has a scar on his wrist since he was marked as prisoner.

#MCtober2024 - Week 3 Amortentia Potion pt 1

Based on @lamieboo's #MCtober2024 event (click on #MCtober for more info).

Amortentia Potion To Sebastian, Iñaki smells like the following:

3. The Beach/Sea Air

Iñaki misses home, especially the beaches she went to on Long Island. Often Sebastian would find her hanging out in the beach portion of the vivarium in the Room of Requirements and would sit next to her, just listening to the waves. Or she would ask Sebastian if he wanted to go to the coastal beach in Scotland, despite how cold it can get. The beach always makes her feel like at home and it's where she would spill whatever is bothering her or her life secrets to him without any pushing. There's just something about the beach that relaxes her. It's also where she is the most happiest whenever she feels down. Sometimes the two would just sit in the vivarium beach, listening to the waves splash, the seagulls flying and wheeling as they watch the sunset (this is one memory both would later use for their patronus - moreso Sebastian than Iñaki). The one constant all beaches have is the salty tangy air that reminds Sebastian of Iñaki

Hello friends, mutuals and other lok fans. In today’s essay I will try to answer a simple question: why does Zephon lay eggs? Now, the question sounds stupid and we could answer it easily by saying that it’s because of the inspirations the character designers used, most probably the alien queen from the alien franchise and also mantis who sometimes make oothecas even though they have no eggs to lay. We could also answer this question by saying it’s just a game design thing for the boss fight, but in a series of game where every single aspect of it can be explained with the lore and all, I think we can and should try to answer that question by using in-game elements.

So this is what I’ll attempt today!

Firstly I’d like to take a look at Zephon’s bitterness toward Raziel. I think it’s safe to say that he is jealous of him by the way he talks to him but I don’t think he is jealous of him the way their brothers are. Melchiah, Rahab, Dumah and Turel hate Raziel because he’s Kain’s favorite, precious first born son, and thus they try to get Kain to notice them: Melchiah has the biggest clan, Rahab has overcome his weakness and became resistant to water, Dumah’s clan is known for having the best warriors of Nosgoth, Turel has The SmokestackTM and the strongest clan (as in the strongest vampires among them all). But Zephon? He has the smallest clan and the smallest territory, climbing may be useful but he doesn’t use his dark gift in any meaningful way. His biggest achievement was to take over the cathedral.

He clearly doesn’t try to please Kain in any way. He did the bare minimum.

So why would he be jealous of Raziel then?

Well in my opinion he is jealous of the attention Raziel gets, not only from Kain and their brothers, but by “lesser” people, humans especially. I will talk about Zephon’s relationship with his clan and humans in more details later but know this it is something important. In a world in which vampires are seen as gods by a part of the human population I think it would be logical to worship Raziel more than the others, as he is the most “popular” one and the closest to Kain which I assume may be percieved as some sort of God of Gods to the human worshippers. But do all worshippers get to become Razielims, hell, do they even get the right to stay inside his stronghold? Only a fair few get these blessings if you ask me. Meanwhile I think the cathedral easily opens its doors to new worshippers which is why there are so many of them there.

In my opinion Zephon has been ejected of the political chessboard of Nosgoth in a way. He’s weak, he’s a coward and taking over the cathedral was his only exploit. All he can do is lure, deceive and trap easy prey.

Okay time to talk about his clan. I think it could be interesting to take a look at parenthood in lok but I’m not here for that today, I’m here to take a look at Zephon’s motherhood specifically. I think it’s safe to consider that all of the boys are fathers to some extent (Raziel clearly reacts like a parent worried for his children’s safety and not like a monarch afraid of loosing his kingdom in the beginning of Soul Reaver) but I do think they imitate Kain’s way of raising their offsprings, they put some emotional distance with their fledglings (which doesn’t mean they don’t care about them, of course). I think Zephon does the exact opposite of that. He does take the mother role in his clan, fully embraces it, but the love he gives them is hollow. But it exists nonetheless and it’s enough for the Zephonims.

I think he treats humans with a similar “kindness” and that’s why he’s so popular among them, that’s why there are so many worshippers at the Silenced Cathedral. Nosgoth is so cold, so brutal, knowing that there’s a place somewhere where you wouldn’t be seen as just a sack of meat...it could be worth the risk.

Of course it isn’t. What happens to humans in the cathedral is probably worse than in any other clans because torture and pain don’t end once they’re turned into vampire.

Anyway, Zephon’s false caring is just a great and easy tool to brainwash anyone into loving and trusting him blindly.

In my opinion this is why he devolved to have a “mask”. I think that at some point when he was starting to look more and more monstrous the mask developed on his face, so he could still seduce/lure humans.

To conclude: I think Zephon devolved to lay eggs because he was a mother to his clan and because it’s also a good last trap in case an enemy comes to close to him and he cannot attack them with his forelegs.

I hereby headcanon that LDBs can use dragon souls to make new ‘ancient tongues’ weapons/items with it instead of just morphing the original one. And that they can give these to their friends and use it to be able to sense where they are and if they’re in trouble (also that way they can’t get stolen or lost). Possibly the LDB can teleport to them/teleport them to themselves. And the DB can re-absorb the artifact if they want
